The visa bulletin that covers July interviews has been released – no big surprise – all regions are current and the two limited countries are unchanged. For Nepal and Egypt there was probably no point in increasing the numbers since interviews are not being conducted. That does not mean that those countries could not be increased in a later VB – we simply have to wait and see.
The bigger unknown at the moment is how KCC will handle the scheduling of interviews, since the embassies are currently closed. As it stands today, they may not be planning to send 2NLs for July – but the situation is very fluid and we should wait and see if any interviews are scheduled by the end of this month. There are no clues about that on the VB itself.

May 20, 2020 at 18:57
I have called KCC regarding the sending of 2NL’s. They said that they per embassy will send 2NL’s as soon as embassies open. So I guess it’s waiting to see until embassies open.
May 20, 2020 at 21:20
Yep.
May 21, 2020 at 06:01
How can embassy schedule appointment when people don’t have confirmation letters?
May 21, 2020 at 13:33
KCC schedule appointments, and confirmation letters are not a required part of the process.
May 20, 2020 at 19:03
Thank you sir?
Let us be kinder to one another
May 20, 2020 at 19:06
It is highly likely that the 2020 DV will be curtailed (by defacto)
May 20, 2020 at 21:21
It’s certainly a possibility…
May 20, 2020 at 23:09
what do you mean by “curtailed”
May 20, 2020 at 23:37
Is google broken?
May 22, 2020 at 07:16
Mali, it means “Cut Short” in french it means “Ecourter”
June 10, 2020 at 15:21
So, even if all the 50K visas have not been given out, it will just end? What will happen with the remaining ones and how might this affect DV 2021 if it does at all?
Thank you!
June 11, 2020 at 00:36
It just ends and visas are wasted.
May 20, 2020 at 19:33
Hlw Brit there is no any changes of July VB that’s means of end of our dv.i am from Nepal and my case is As14k what reason behind not single increase
May 20, 2020 at 21:21
Please read the article above!
May 20, 2020 at 19:46
Brit this issue is tricky. We hope also Trump will not extend his executive order for further 60 days, as it stands this pandemic will really affect issuance of DV visas. Let’s hope things returns to normalcy soon.
May 20, 2020 at 19:51
Hi britsimon. Case number 2020AF69*** from Egypt and live in California.1. Can I expedite AOS processing because I live in USA since 2015?
2. What can I do now, 3. is there any exception can I do? 4. If Egypt will be current next VB, how long will it take to do AOS or It will be late to adjust of status?I’m very sad
Thank you
May 20, 2020 at 21:35
If your number becomes current you could submit AOS paperwork. You should learn about that process in case that happens (Link below). There is an early filing policy so you can submit your application as soon as your number is in the VB – so for example if the next VB were to make your case current for August, you could immediately file your I-485 package – meaning in June. That would be plenty of time for DV based AOS. BUT you have to get current….

May 20, 2020 at 21:43
Thank you sir for supporting me. Appriciate your help. I pray God protect you and you family.
May 20, 2020 at 20:29
I called today the US Embassy in Bucharest to ask about opening and they told me they should open in mid-June so they might schedule for July .
May 20, 2020 at 21:36
Fingers crossed. If that were the case they would have June to handle cancelled interviews then they might have some July interview capacity for as yet unscheduled cases.
May 20, 2020 at 22:03
In normal circumstances they send 2NL after the VB up to the end of the month. Do you think this could be send anytime now after the embassy open and not being restricted to the last two weeks of each month?
May 20, 2020 at 22:59
They won’t send 2NLs whilst the embassies are closed or don’t have a date for reopening. If embassies show plans for opening, that could be the trigger KCC needs to send 2NLs – at least for some embassies. If that happened before the end of the month (or even perhaps very early June), we could see KCC setup July interviews. If not – we will lose July also (apart from rescheduled appointments from earlier cancellations).
May 21, 2020 at 07:11
When can we ask for the required documents confirmation? I’ve sent them on March 8th but didn’t get the email yet, just the basic one with they will process them.
Thank you and let’s hope for the best !
May 21, 2020 at 14:00
Ask in early June.
May 21, 2020 at 00:02
When do you expect to email the paperwork?
May 21, 2020 at 00:09
Do you mean when will the 2NLs go out? That depends on the embassies being open – and whilst there are signs that some are restarting operations, we are not out of the wood yet. I hope that gets better over the next few days.
May 21, 2020 at 03:33
So no any hopes for remaing cases dv2020 ??
May 21, 2020 at 04:16
You should pay attention to what I write.
May 21, 2020 at 05:33
Except country doesn’t get 2nd letter or interview …can’t understand
May 21, 2020 at 13:33
No one is getting 2NLs while the embassies are closed.
May 21, 2020 at 08:11
Ok fine and thanks Britsimon let wait and see but, Trump’s hidden agenda is not yet know only God knows.
May 21, 2020 at 09:49
What if trump extend EO for next 60days
May 21, 2020 at 14:06
Then that would ruin DV2020.
May 21, 2020 at 16:44
Maybe some lawsuit would block the extension of the ban. There’s still quite a lot of time till June 13th. If not, then everyone may try to join the lawsuit Simon talked about in the recent video. I don’t know if it was possible to schedule an appointment while the ban would be in effect. Hopefully the ban isn’t going to be extended.
May 21, 2020 at 08:27
I’m sorry for my question.I don’t wanna correct you because everything I know,I learned from you Brit but just to be more clear for myself. Is it June or July VB?Because on travel.state.gov it says VB for June 2020.I’m just worried to know this because I should have been for June ? and now I don’t know what will happen. Thanks a lot and sorry again for my question.
May 21, 2020 at 14:02
The naming convention is confusing.
The VB that was just published is called the June VB. It was published in May, and covers DV interviews in June and July. – so that’s why the article says it’s for July interviews.
May 21, 2020 at 10:33
Good Day Brit,
My Police Certificates expires on June so i obtain a new ones.
I didn’ t receive a Documentation confirmation yet.
Due you suggest to submit a new Document mail includIng the update Police Certificates or I just bring with me in case of interview.
Thank you for your help,
Paolo
May 21, 2020 at 10:35
Same happens in my case? What should we do? I sent my documents back in November
May 21, 2020 at 14:07

Konnichiwa Simon san,
I am DV2020 winner from Japan. And I got cancelled my interview on April 6th. Now I am waiting reschedule from embassy.
What do you think when the embassy will be open do they schedule mine asap?I got visa medical exam on March and it will expire in 6 month. If 60 days ban for immigrants extend for next 60 days it will be end of august. Should I ask them In advance if I can get the appointment of the interview as soon as possible?
Please tell me with your opinion.
May 21, 2020 at 15:51
How rescheduling is handled will vary embassy by embassy. So – you can ask them, but of course they will be non committal until they have a reopening plan.
May 22, 2020 at 01:04
Hi brit,
I was expecting my case number to be released on this month but due to some circumstances they did not extend VB numbers. And as my knowledge, they won’t increase number for next month on July too because embassy will be closed for at least 2 more months in my country. Although I live in USA, I won’t be able to process before my case number goes current so if I process through AOS and send all my required document till July month for September interview, do u think I will be able to get interview till September month?
May 22, 2020 at 02:32
Maybe. That would be enough time in a normal year.
May 22, 2020 at 21:08
On what basis do you claim to be closed for another 2 months. Nepal has only 500+ cases till now.
Please share the source, why did you quote for another 2 months closure.
I am interested to know as I am too from Nepal
May 23, 2020 at 00:01
No one knows anything for sure!
May 23, 2020 at 00:03
Thank you Brit for the clarification ?
May 23, 2020 at 02:53
As u know our country government start panicking after cases increased day by day but I am not sure if they will open at least for 2 more months. I was guessing with whatever is happening right now. I hope all those embassies open soon and travel ban stop from next month.
May 22, 2020 at 19:26
Hello Brit how are you? I am Albanian and my case number is 221*** as much as i can burn this year due to the situation. And if I do not risk getting burned rohugly when i can have a oppornity for an interview. Do you need to collect documents? I empahsize i have not interview date.
May 23, 2020 at 02:31
Right now, embassies are closed, so no cases are being scheduled. But if they reopen, its important that your documents have been processed.
May 23, 2020 at 01:50
Hi Simon,
my case # is 2020AS25xxx, I’m currently residence in middle east, all my family members have a valid US visa (B1/B2) , and my little daughter 8 years old is US cetirizine by birth.
i still have hope that the EO won’t be extended, however, in case of extension, do you suggest any plan for similar case like my case, for example traveling to US using my current B1/B2 visa and submit my document from state ? or make a lawsuit since i may lose the opportunity to have same nationality of my daughter? any idea out of the box??
please accept my apology if my question or concern is not legitimate.
May 23, 2020 at 03:17
You can’t enter the USA on a B1/B2 with a plan to adjust status. That could be seen as fraud.
I suggest you wait for the next couple of weeks to see what happens next.
May 23, 2020 at 05:52
Hello brit. I am dv2020 selectee and my case number is around 11xxx(Nepal). I am practising dr mbbs level and was preparing for usmle(united states medical liscencing examination). My exam was in april which also got postponed due to covid 19.
I have heard there is some chance to get interview if some one is a doctor or working in medical field. So my question is
1.Is this true or not?
2.Is there any possibility to get interview in my scenario?
3.If yes what will be the procedure?
Thankyou for help you have been providing for all dv lottery winners..
May 23, 2020 at 14:06
1. It’s irrelevant. The embassies are closed because of the pandemic, not the ban.
2 & 3. See 1
May 23, 2020 at 13:23
Hey BritSimon/All:
I sent a complete set of my documents to KCC a month ago exactly. As per your previous videos, I should start following up for the status of my documents starting this week.
However, I’ve been calling KCC for two days and they keep saying KCC is closed due to bad weather. The number I’ve dialed is +1 (606) 526-7500. I could not verify bad weather situation in Kentucky in Google.
Has anyone been able to contact KCC in the past 2 days? Does anyone know if the KCC is actually receiving calls right now? Am I dialing the right number?
Thanks in advance.
Hassan.
May 23, 2020 at 14:10
Wait another week.
May 25, 2020 at 07:08
Hi,
I also called KCC and they were closed, But next day they did answer. But nothing special. They know nothing, just wait, kcc is working and processing documents, but slowly, so wait again. That’s the main message
May 23, 2020 at 16:26
Trump will extend for 60 more days we have no any hopes now thank you ??
May 23, 2020 at 16:34
How do you know? Did he make any comment?
May 23, 2020 at 19:56
@EU35. NO!!!!
Some people just like being pessimistic.
May 24, 2020 at 06:35
EU trump will make his statement about extend or release immigration ban in upcoming months
May 23, 2020 at 16:45
Are you serious? Who told you that?
May 23, 2020 at 17:19
Cant find that anywhere, right now we should be focused on the reopening of the embassy’s since that’s what gets us scheduled not the EO. Without the embassy’s open a lawsuit against the EO is very hard to win.
May 23, 2020 at 19:57
@Walt – it’s BS.
May 23, 2020 at 19:56
@Ben – please ignore the comment – it is just someone being negative for NO REASON.
May 24, 2020 at 06:33
Hello Ben I am having negative guess due to this pandemic as the covid 19 cases in increasing day by day in us and millions people are unemployed
May 23, 2020 at 17:05
@Asia who told you that? You could better say “Asia” has no hopes not “we”. Trump is not more than God. What God has chosen for his children must come to pass. The ban is just a distraction. My Redeemer liveth.
May 23, 2020 at 17:37
BIH u are very correct we have to be positive I’m Monica from Cameroon we should not give up .Trump is not God his just a mere mortal ,God is the final say,he that made us to win this lottery 2020 will never allow us to be disappointment ,Victory is on our way.
May 23, 2020 at 17:42

May 23, 2020 at 18:52

May 24, 2020 at 06:26

May 23, 2020 at 17:36
It’s amazing what the power of positivity can do for you. You should try it sometime! ?????
May 23, 2020 at 19:55
Do you know how to read Trump’s mind?
May 23, 2020 at 21:28
Hi Mr. Simon. CN 2020AF69*** from Egypt. I live in USA and I want adjust status. I contacted my lawyer and he told me that I can apply for AOS now and be ready for an interview if my number be current. He wants me to pay money for him now. My questions 1. Can I apply now for Aos? 2.Should I wait till my number be current?
May 23, 2020 at 22:42
Your number is NOT current, so you cannot submit your AOS case. If your number gets current, you can adjust status – but I suggest you do it yourself rather than paying money to the lawyer that doesn’t understand the DV lottery process.
Everything you need to know about how to do DV related AOS is available here:

May 24, 2020 at 04:02
Mr. Simon good day , I am CN SA 35XX , wating for the 2NL , If I get the call I should travel to The Bogota Embassy, the thing is that Colombia announced that their borders and airports will be shut down until August 31, That leaves me little chance to get A date for the interview, should I change the hypothetical Interview place to another country that “might” be open earlier than that while I can ? Thank you for your time
May 24, 2020 at 05:16
It’s impossible for me to advise – it’s a total guess.
May 24, 2020 at 06:21
It’s just my negative guess as the situation is being worst in USA day by day millions of people are unemployement saving people life is first priority
May 24, 2020 at 08:35
@britsimon could you block this f’ing moron?
May 24, 2020 at 13:40
Thanks, yes is not an easy call … one more question, to change the place of interview I need to unlock the DS260 and resubmit it, can I do that this late with no prejudice ? Does the process starts again for me after that ? Thank you
May 24, 2020 at 14:28
It doesn’t restart the process. You can contact KCC and discuss it.
May 24, 2020 at 12:42
It’s just my verdict as per the situation@erm
May 24, 2020 at 12:43
No one knows anything for sure !!
May 24, 2020 at 17:53
Hello, Mr. Brit my number always showed On At NVC today I checked B NVC showed what it means?
May 24, 2020 at 18:44
Not scheduled. That’s all it means. It’s covered in the FAQ.
May 25, 2020 at 02:14
Good evening Brit. FYI. I’ve contacted my local embassy on Instagram a few days ago to see if they had any idea on when they will resume their activities, and I just got their reply: they do not have a confirmed date yet, but they are working hard to reopen shortly and resume all visa services.
This is in Uruguay where government and people did very well about the virus and the situstion is completely under control.
Let’s wait and see, but it seems very possitive for a July interview.
Best regards.
May 25, 2020 at 10:33
Dear sir, i appreciate your effort for the assistant given to us, looks all cases are now current, should i be expecting 2NL letter for interview scheduling shortly or what…? my CN AF20xxx Cameroon, i submitted complete documents since February and they mailed that records shows that i have submitted a valid DS-260 and complete documents, that interviews are schedule numerically base on case numbers and my case number low, will they reach me sir. Thanks for your kind attention
May 25, 2020 at 13:10
Scheduling is only possible if your documents have been processed. If you have sent them, you can ask KCC if your documents are processed. Embassies are closed right now so they are not scheduling interviews yet.
May 26, 2020 at 19:30
Hello Simon. I asked KCC if my docs and DS-260 have been processed and they answered just
“Records indicate you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.”
Is that a yes ?
Thanks in advance !
May 26, 2020 at 22:38
Yes – that is a yes.
May 25, 2020 at 13:48
Hai Bristimon,I have a very important questions that has been wondering me.
A Diversity Visa lottery case went for interview. The consular Officers Said the case was Denied and they give us An official letter.
AfthA the interview I wrote the head of consular sections.
My case went through a lot of updates process and at the end it left to Ready.
Now DV 2021 is on it’s way,u think whstsw the reason of leaving my Case under ready though I was challenging it through thier head.
Till now my case is still ready.is not in refused status nor administrative status.
May 25, 2020 at 14:09
What year was your previous win?
May 26, 2020 at 10:33
Previous year win was 2016,
And by Jube 7,2020 I will write u about my application history and current case Number ok.
Have a blessed day
May 25, 2020 at 13:54
Am asking this important questions because I am 100% to win this Coming 2021 DV,and in the DS-260 apploapplic, questions are ask about reason of previous visa applications.
Thanks
May 25, 2020 at 14:10
Your chance of winning is about once in 200 years.
May 25, 2020 at 15:20
Bristimon, please help in answering my concern.just forgot about my winning cause is done and am 100% show.
By June 7 under this same name,I will tell u.
Thanks
May 25, 2020 at 17:23
See you on June 7.
May 26, 2020 at 11:30
People keep sending the documents or KCC has already closed ??
May 26, 2020 at 22:30
KCC has not closed.
May 26, 2020 at 12:51
One question sir. If Trump extend the EO for another 60 days, does that mean it’s all over or we still have time (if our documents are processed)? Thank you very much!
May 26, 2020 at 22:33
Why speculate about something that has not happened.
May 26, 2020 at 16:22
Hi there Brit,
My CN is 2020AS29xxx, my case number is CURRENT for June Visa bulletin. I already submit my DS-260!since 24-10-19 and send all required documents since 15-11-19. I send e-mail to KCC since 29-04-20 to ask that they satisfied with my DS-260 and documents then I got auto replied like this:
The Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) has received your email. This email address, [email protected] is for case-specific Diversity Visa inquires only. If you would like to check the status of your entry, please do so at http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ESC. This website is the definitive means of determining whether or not you were selected for possible further processing. You must see a notice that is addressed to you by name as proof of selection to process further in the DV program.
Till now I still not get 2NL from KCC. US embassy in Cambodia still open as normal.
Hope to get feedback from you soon.
Regards,
Thanks
May 26, 2020 at 22:37
Embassies were closed by order, so no, Cambodia is not “open as normal”. While embassies are closed, KCC won’t schedule interviews.
May 26, 2020 at 22:56
Hi brit
One of my freind has been told by the France embassy that they are not doing interviews because of the EO. What do you think?
May 27, 2020 at 00:18
Someone is confused somewhere. Paris is closed for immigrant & non immigrant visa interviews since March 16. That has nothing to do with the EO.
May 27, 2020 at 01:47
I don’t think the embassy’s are very well informed by department of state as they come up with different reason why they are closed. The Netherlands mentioned the EO about the travel ban as well for being the reason.
May 27, 2020 at 02:08
Well some of that depends on the conversation and how its asked – but it’s also easier to “blame” the ban rather than discuss the closure (which then gets into a debate about how many cases there are in that country and so on).
But the embassies know why they are closed – that’s really not debatable.
May 27, 2020 at 06:37
Hi brit! If the ban is extended and in same time embassies reopen ,do you think there is better chance the ban to be blocked from a lawsuit since the damage would be now real ,not like the judge earlier said that since embassies are not open the ban does not do much damage ,whats your opinion ?
May 27, 2020 at 17:04
Yes – if by that time the embassies are open then the lawsuits can point to actual irreparable harm, which was the main weakness of the Hacking lawsuit.
May 27, 2020 at 11:50
Sir, please any news about dv2021 result date
May 27, 2020 at 17:06
Still June 6
May 27, 2020 at 17:23
Dear Mr. Simon,
I am Iraqi and resident in Iraq, I won DV2020 and my case number is 2020AS16xxx, according to Visa Bulletin my interview should be in May in US Embassy Baghdad, I had already completed my DS-260 and sent required documents and received confirmation from KCC.
The U.S. Embassy Baghdad had been closed since 1st January 2020 because of security issues before COVID-19 outbreak, I contacted KCC three times to check if my case still in KCC or they have been transfer it to another alternative U.S. Embassy to interview in, however their answer is the same in every email and quoting:
“Records indicate you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center.
Due to the novel COVID-19 outbreak all interviews for the DV program have been suspended, it is undetermined when scheduling will resume.
Please monitor http://www.travel.state.gov for any updates and contact your DV embassy/consulate if you have additional questions.”
The U.S. Embassy Baghdad do not answer my emails and I don’t know whom should I contact or what should I do, I need your advice please.
May 27, 2020 at 17:34
There is nothing you can do at the moment. As their email says, the embassies are closed – so there is no way to schedule you at the moment.
May 27, 2020 at 17:37
(Document receiving confirmation)
Just called KCC, they picked thankfully and gave the same response:
“We don’t have visibility its another department”
Guess I just have to patiently wait.
(Submitted complete set of documents On April 24th)
May 27, 2020 at 19:00
Yep – you have to wait…
May 28, 2020 at 14:55
Hi there!!
I submitted my DS-260 (EU31XXX) and documents on the 7th of May and I got back the automatic email respose almost inmediately.
The thing is that due to COVID-19 we coud not get married until yesterday ( 27th of May). All marriages have been either postponed or cancelled during lokdown. We intended to do it before March….but all of a sudden things changed unexpectedly…
My question is:
Do I unlock DS-260 now or is it too risky?
May 28, 2020 at 16:11
Unlock now.
May 28, 2020 at 16:49
Thanks!
May 28, 2020 at 16:22
Kuwait American Embassy annouced tentatively scheduled first visa appointment on June 22nd.
Assuming then pandemic has been contained and the government has relaxed conditions.
Can we expect any progress from KCC by then.
We are awaiting for 2NL as our case number is current (AS28***).
May 28, 2020 at 17:23
Heey CNA
Have you received email confirmation about your documents?
AS29***
May 28, 2020 at 19:55
Not yet. Still waiting for document confirmation
May 28, 2020 at 18:40
That’s good news (although I have not seen where that was announced), but the embassy will probably use the early appointment slots for rescheduling of cancelled interviews first. It remains to be see whether KCC can take advantage of that to schedule some interviews in July. We have to wait and see what happens.

May 29, 2020 at 03:15
Hi Simon,

May 29, 2020 at 03:56
Why were you refused?
May 29, 2020 at 04:23
Embassy consular was refused our vise application by order Presidential Proclamation 212(f) visa restrictions for Burma, please kindly help and advise me how should i do our visa processing. Thanks you.
May 29, 2020 at 04:49
OK. The ban is still in force, so there is nothing you can do. The CO would have discussed a waiver if that had been possible.
May 29, 2020 at 05:12
Thanks a lot for your advise.
May 29, 2020 at 05:33
Hi Bro, Where did you interview? From Yangon or overseas? It seems like they are looking for an option for a waiver whether you are eilbigle or not. Do you have close family member in US? Anyway, keep checking your email, they might be contacting you very soon because embassy are back in business soon.
June 1, 2020 at 07:01
Hi Bro, In Yangon. I don’t have family member in US. I also hope good news from them. Thanks for your good suggestions.
June 3, 2020 at 12:57
hi bro, thanks for the reply. May I know your interview date? Was it before February 21, 2020 or after? If it was after the date, it is really a good hope for the rest of the winners too. Did they ask your bank statement or any form of evidance for your non-cash assets? Did you also have to complete this form – https://eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds5540.PDF? And, could you please update your status here when you get the result? Really appreciate it bro.
June 5, 2020 at 06:57
Hi Bro, My Interview was after 21 Feb, first week of March. They don’t ask bank statement. Only one question asked, family member have in US? “Don’t have” I daily checked in ceac status which is always Refused in system. I also waiting from Embassy reopen date. I have a plan if there reopen who i will send to request mail for our status. Thanks a lot for your advise answer and pls let me know where are u form ? Yangon? Pls don’t mind, Thanks u very much
June 6, 2020 at 15:54
hi bro, thanks a lot for sharing the information. I am in Singapore at the moment, and we will be interviewing here in Singapore. We haven’t done the interview. It was originally scheduled to be done on early March like yours, but it was postponed because of the addition check required in medical test. It was further delayed by the virus outbreak and yet to be rescheduled by the embassy. We are waiting for the email from the embassy now.
June 3, 2020 at 13:04
hi bro, you should also email embassy about your status of your visa. One of the winners from Yagon got the visa, but hers was expired in between embassy closure. We are not sure whether she would be able to extend the visa or not. According to the embassy, other types of immigrant visa will be able to extend, but they are also not sure about DV. The best thing is to check with the embassy. Either email or call them and check the status with them. They would, at least, provide you the status.
June 3, 2020 at 18:18
I have already addressed this.

Thank you Simon.

Dear Simon,
I have been submitted my DS – 260 since May last year and before i visited us twice under B1/ B2 .
i submitted the B1/B2 visa on September 2018 and my case was under administrative processing until now but recently i check my non immigrant visa i find it changed from AP to refused without update the case date which is mean i am still under AP .
Should i unlock my DS-260 and change question ” have you ever been refused a u.s. visa ” from no to yes ?
Regards,
Mohamed

No.

Good day Sir
Thank you for all the information available on your site.
I have a question regarding the Visa Status Check website. I had an interview scheduled for April 1st, 2020 that was canceled and at that time my status on the CEAC website was shown as “ON TRANSIT”.
It remained on this status for several weeks and at some point in time, the status of my case (2020EU19…) stopped returning any information except this note “Your search did not return any data.”.
I checked the case number over and over to be sure I do not have any mistakes on the case number.
Just before this glitched start happening, I sent an email to the embassy to ask if they have any idea when they are starting to reschedule interviews.
Do you have any idea on why I get this response?
I experimented with different case numbers from “xarthisius” charts and I do receive the correct status for other cases. One more note, my case number on “xarthisius” (May 1st list) is shown “ON TRANSIT”.
Thank you for your time

May 30, 2020 at 18:47
I don’t know what would cause that – but you don’t need to worry.
May 30, 2020 at 21:28
If that’s any consolation it’s not only your case. A lot of cases that were “In Transit” on May 1st are now showing as holes. They must have messed something up in the database.
May 30, 2020 at 23:13
Xarthisius Can you know from your database of May 1 if KCC is checking documents or making case numbers ready ?
May 31, 2020 at 21:05
Document processing status cannot be known from CEAC data.
May 30, 2020 at 20:28
Thank you Sir for the update.
Please when the kcc said all regions are current except the exempted ones, like Egypt for instance does it implies that any person irrespective of how high or law the Case number is can be program for the said month? Or still yet if my case number is AF64….. which month should I expect an interview?
Thank you Sir.
May 31, 2020 at 21:03
Case numbers don’t matter now, except for the two except countries.
As for when you will be scheduled, that depends on the embassies being open, your documents and DS260 being processed. So – I cannot tell you when you will be scheduled.
May 30, 2020 at 23:27
Thank you for your feedback.

May 31, 2020 at 12:31
Hi Brit .I have already been scheduled and all my medical exam dong .but I have not yet received reschedule email from my embassy. What should I do. Contact my embassy or waiting
May 31, 2020 at 21:09
The embassy is probably closed. Wait a week or two, then contact the embassy.
June 3, 2020 at 10:09
Hai Bristimon,
What’s your take and advise to us oj this uodated FAM.
As DV 2021,is almost here,I the US Consular FAM that is used to Adjucate DV cases by Coneular by the embassy has been updated.
This clause really dram my attention
Beginning with the
“DV 2020 applications and
thereafter, you should
also deny the application
of any applicant who
included an individual on
his or her DV entry who
was not a spouse or
child at the time of DV
lottery entry. If post
believes a case merits
issuance despite
apparent failure to
comply with the DV
instructions, post must
submit the case for an
advisory opinion to the
Advisory Opinions
Division (CA/VO/L/A).”
Here is the link to the uodatup FAM
https://fam.state.gov/fam/09FAM/09FAM050206.html
June 3, 2020 at 13:46
Let us see the response from Brit Simon, though I think the advisory opinion will rule depending whether it’s the same spouse you had applied with,…….this is tricky it can lock out or deny slot of people visas……
June 3, 2020 at 18:20
@Phyllis – how is it tricky to follow the instructions??
June 3, 2020 at 17:21
I have explained this before. People should NOT list derivatives that are not derivatives and should list all derivatives that are derivatives. The instructions are clea, the consequences for not following the instructions are real.
June 4, 2020 at 00:45
Hlw Brit according to Jim hacking immigration lawyer the banned of 60 days will be extend .is it true ?
June 4, 2020 at 04:00
I have not seen any such update from Jim, nor have I seen that suggested anywhere else.
June 4, 2020 at 04:56
It’s a Facebook post he replied on saying he thinks it gets extended. But again no one knows and we just have to wait it out for another two and half weeks. It could easily be a political stunt to please his crowd and just let the EO expire since he knew from the start it wouldn’t effect anyone with the embassies closed. But again that’s my thought, we’ll see. Embassy reopening is more important at the moment.
June 6, 2020 at 10:43
What will happen to dv 2020 is it going to be cancel forever please let me know iam so worried it may not be canceled
June 6, 2020 at 11:12
It won’t be cancelled – but it will end on September 30th and time is running short since the embassies are closed.
June 10, 2020 at 18:17
If the embassies won’t be open before September 30 so our cause will be cancel ?
June 11, 2020 at 00:48
Correct
June 11, 2020 at 17:12
Isn’t there a second chance for our case ? OR what do u think how many percentage it is able to be open before 30 sep?
June 12, 2020 at 00:38
I don’t know.
June 7, 2020 at 15:29
Hello, I’m a winner of DV2020. I have submitted all required documents and also received an email from KCC indicated that my case number of dv2020 has been completed reviewed since March and now almost all case numbers of dv2020 have been made current, but nevertheless, I have not interviewed yet!
June 7, 2020 at 15:51
Yup – embassies are closed. Once they open there willl not be enough time for all the interviews, so some people will miss out.
June 10, 2020 at 07:14
Dear Brit,
Thank you for the work you’ve put together here, highly appreciated by many here!
I’m a DV selectee of 2020, my case number is AF 67***. Is there a chance I will be getting a 2NL yet? or my case number is too high? I tried contacting KCC after sending my documents couple of time and again on the 1st of June as per your suggestion, I still get the same generic email response:
“After sending documents to [email protected], you will receive an automatic reply to your email. If there are no attachments, the auto reply explains there are no documents attached to the email. If there are attachments, the auto reply explains we received your email and are currently processing your documents. Please allow time for processing of your documents. Documents are processed in numerical order, based on lottery rank number. Once KCC has processed your documents, we will let you know if anything is missing or if we have received everything needed.
Due to the novel COVID-19 outbreak all interviews for the DV program have been suspended, it is undetermined when scheduling will resume.”
Any ideas if my case number could get current? According to this all cases have been current and will be scheduled for an interview eventually?
Please advice what to do next.
Thanks,
A
June 10, 2020 at 23:03
Right now, embassies are closed. Even if they they were to reopen tomorrow (and that is not planned or likely) there is not enough time left to interview all remaining cases.
So – it now depends on which cases have had their DS260 and documents processed. So – wait a few days and call KCC to ask about documents.
June 11, 2020 at 18:08
My case is 2020AS00017879 will it be processed for interview ?and iam from Afghanistan ??
June 12, 2020 at 00:44
The embassies are all closed so there is a big risk for remaining cases because there are too many cases and not much time.
June 12, 2020 at 08:49
Hi Mr. Simon! CN 2020AF69*** from Egypt. I live in California since 2015 and have pending asylum case. My question is: 1. If my number won’t go current, is there any thing to do to adjust my status? I contact kcc many times and they tell me you have to pay the fees first. So, I have to wait or pay fees and contact kcc. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you
June 12, 2020 at 11:26
If you don’t get current there is nothing you can do.
June 12, 2020 at 16:55
Thank you Mr Simon.
June 13, 2020 at 09:30
Dear Brit . Accept warm greetings from Cameroon. Please are we to pay fees first bfr our 2nl could be processed and scheduled?
June 13, 2020 at 17:33
No – you only pay fees at the medical and the interview.
