The new Visa Bulletin has been released. This one is for interviews in July, and it now makes all regions AND COUNTRIES current. To be clear, this is about DV2021, it is NOT about DV2022 numbers.
However, as I have already explained, that is purely an indication of how “broken” the system is at the moment. KCC has reported that there are not enough “ready for scheduling” cases to use the remaining visas. That is only true because KCC have not processed enough documents, it is not a true reflection of the actual demand.
Now, far more critical is the pace of scheduling. Again that is bad. As I pointed out in my video a few days ago, there is no sign that KCC is planning to schedule a high volume of cases overf the remaining months, and in fact, they are instead showing the opposite behavior. They are still very very low on interviews, around 40 embassies are yet to even accept their first DV case, and the DoS has announced that DV cases are a very low priority in a capacity limited system. All very serious, and not the news you would want to hear.
Please consider the situation seriously. There is significant risk to all cases right now. I discussed this a few days ago and you can read/hear more on my thoughts about joining a lawsuit here.

Greetings Brit,
I got my document submission email and my case no is AS32K. But noticed that there is a letter missing on my second name of the police clearance. Please advice whether I must send the documents with the error and try to get it rectified or must I have to get it corrected before sending docs to KCC.
July 29, 2021 at 15:02
No problem – send it.
July 30, 2021 at 14:39
Thank you Brit, Must I re-apply for a new one or Is it not a big issue?
July 30, 2021 at 14:46
Hi Chandi,

Can I use a sponsor who is not my host I mentioned in ds 260 form. Is there anything to do if I couldn’t find a sponsor
Thank you

Yes
July 18, 2021 at 09:57
Mr Brit
1. My question is with regarding to DS 260 form filled for my spouse.. There was a question asking
“Have you travelled any other country during last five years.” There answer written was “No”.
But my husband has travelled to another country during last five year. But it was only for about a week or two.
Will it be a serious mistake if I got a chance for interviewing.?
My CN 2020 AS 26***
THANK YOU
July 18, 2021 at 15:35
Probably not.
July 18, 2021 at 08:27
Hello Dear Brit, long time no see b/c we dv 2021 winners loss our hope. One questions please? i.e
1. When we check our DS260 at Ceac link, we get ‘expiration date ‘ at 04/30/2022. It says like this for all of us. So what does it mean?
Thank you
July 18, 2021 at 15:32
Nothing to do with your case. It is the expiration date of the form itself for when the next review/revision is due.
July 18, 2021 at 05:49
Hello, Brit !
Question regarding passport requirements for DV2021-first year for passport number, (Kyrgyz Republic, EU region). At the time of initial entry of the lottery I had unexpired valid TRAVEL PASSPORT, but mistakenly entered number of ID card(we use as a local passport),
– Can we hope for approval on interview, which is scheduled on August?
One of the requirements is to HAVE unexpired valid TRAVEL PASSPORT at the moment of entry, right. And ID card and Travel Passport are belong to Same Person.
– And is it possible that any Lawsuit or Lawyer can help us ?
This passport requirements(and biometric) is Trump era rules,
US Immigration started to ease that rules.
We already had 1 case with local ID card number at our US Embassy,
it was refused, but at this case they hadn’t Travel Passport at initial entry, they made it after entry.
Also they’ve been talked that for European Union it is OK to use ID cards for entry.
Thank You.
July 18, 2021 at 15:26
The idea that the requirement is to “have” a passport rather than entering the passport details is, frankly, ridiculous. Don’t bother trying to argue that with the CO.
You clearly did not follow instructions. Take responsibility for that and explain that you made a mistake. The CO might be able to use some discretion in your favor.
July 18, 2021 at 00:22
How can I contact KCC? I want to contact them to check if they have received my documents and that there’s nothing missing with them. I have already tried calling their phone number, but the automatic answering machine told me to email them. I sent them multiple emails and they haven’t responded yet.
July 18, 2021 at 05:20
There are no other methods.

Hello Brit, recently i got an email saying t hat i have been scheduled for an interview on Aug 2nd 2021. when i asked my sponsor which i had mentioned in my ds260 form to get reedy with the document he said that he has some tax issues i.e., he is paying low tax to the govt. idk what he was saying but then he said that he will send the sponsor documents from my Aunt’s name. My question is will this affect my chances of getting visa ? And if he has some tax issues wouldn’t the people at embassy find out even if ,my sponsor is his wife (my aunt)? PLEASE LEAVE A REPLY ASAP. My interview is near and i am scared bc of this fuss.
July 18, 2021 at 03:51
If they meet the income limits, then no problem. If not, change the sponsor.
July 15, 2021 at 22:29
Hi Brit,
1)My sponsor says do he need to fill up I-134 in this biden administration..
2) If needed then he says will fill out . But, Another thing is he says he only found the I-134 in USCIS website which is not updated has the expiration date of Feb28 2021, but my Interview is in August …Does that works….
Could you please help me with those questions
July 16, 2021 at 04:57
1. Yes
2. You can safely ignore the expiry date of the form.
July 15, 2021 at 16:13

July 13, 2021 at 19:44

End of July in a normal year.
Wait and see.
July 11, 2021 at 15:03
Hi Brit Simon,
I missed your live QnA earlier today and there is a comment that caught my attention, so here is details about my case and the question.
I’m a DV2021 selectee, with a CN 9,1xx, my local embassy is Nairobi Kenya. I submitted my DS260 in August, KCC requested for docs the same month and I immediately submitted. I got my Ready for scheduling email on 11th December 2020.
Now, since Nairobi started scheduling my number has been skipped twice in the last two 2NLs cycles, meaning slightly higher case numbers than mine have been scheduled, I however have noted from the 2NLs sent last Friday a slightly lower case number than mine that got documentarily qualified two weeks after my case got their 2NL after also bring skipped twice, also there is a slightly higher number that got their 2NL on Friday and was documentarily qualified a month before me.
Now, my question is from your past experience and the details above, what are my realistic chances of being scheduled keeping in mind we only have one month left for interviews.
Many thanks as always.
July 11, 2021 at 15:10
You have a chance.
July 15, 2021 at 21:11
I have a similar situation, CN 2021SA4XX ready for scheduling on Nov 9th 2021, still no 2NL, where do you see the scheduled cases? i can’t find that information, is there a link i can follow?
July 16, 2021 at 04:55
Data is here:
https://savediversityvisa.org/
July 10, 2021 at 03:24
Hi Britsimon,I can see people with high cases like 70+k have received 2nl,what does it mean since I thought they start scheduling with low cases?
July 10, 2021 at 18:02
It is because those cases submitted their DS260 and documents very early
July 8, 2021 at 09:13
Hi Brit! Do you think on 19 july hearing for goh and goodluck Judge Mehta will also talk about dv2020?
July 10, 2021 at 17:25
I think it will be part of the overall consideration, yes. However, the Judge has not asked the Gomez lawyers to attend, so there won’t be “discussion” of DV2020 per se.
July 8, 2021 at 07:36
Anyone from Ghana reading this who has been scheduled ?
July 7, 2021 at 19:49
Hi Brit Simon, how are you and all the families? Hope you’re doing your best and I appreciate ur commitment on helping people. I have one challenging question regarding passport validation. Me and my family are one of the winners of the dv 2021 lottery. When we initially applied for the dv lottery all our passports did not expire but my husband’s, who lives in US, has expired now and he is unable to renew it because of his location. I have received the second letter to submit requested documents with copy of valid passports. Now I am a bit confued on what to do with my husband passport. He already has a work permit and driving license in USA & I was thinking of attaching those files along. Please advise me on what to do so that I can submit the files as soon as possible. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks
July 10, 2021 at 17:18
DV2021?? Are you sure – because DV2021 is almost over and if you have not submitted documents yet, you are too late.
July 13, 2021 at 06:20
Sure, I got the email on June 30,2021. The subject says ‘for Further DV Documents Required’. Do you get me, we already submitted DS-260 form before & it is the 2nd email to submit valid passport, birth certificate, Marriage certificate, police records.. .
July 15, 2021 at 02:40
You may have missed some documents, so look carefully at what you sent and compare with what is needed.
July 13, 2021 at 06:32
Dear Simon, I also submitted Ds 260 on June 12, 2020. Is it to late to get an email to submit Scanned copy of documents on June 30, 2021? I am confused. Please advice me.
July 13, 2021 at 06:35
I am sure, I got the email with the subject of ,’Further DV Documents Required’, & ask to submit Birth certif, Marriage certif, valid pass port, police records..
July 7, 2021 at 17:35
Hello Brit Simon how are you and how’s everything? I hope you’re in the your best health and condition. I have a question. So I currently reside in a foreign country. The address is quite challenging to fill up on the address form.
“ 3246 Quraysh Street – Al Bawadi
Jeddah 23531
Saudi Arabia”
This is the address of where I am in. So how do I fill this in the form. As in;
Saudi Arabia- country
Province- Mecca
City- Jeddah
District- Al bawadi
3246 Quraysh Street(this is address written on the small board out of the house).
Plus when I look it up on the map it shows up like this. So my questions are:
1. Isn’t it like too long and much to be on the address line 1 or am I just paranoid.
2. Adding a panctuation mark on the address does it add up to disqualification to the ds260 or even the initial dv lottery form?(mostly in the initial dv lottery selectee process)
3. Must an address have both letters and numbers on both the dv lottery form?(because some streets don’t have street numbers on their street names).
July 10, 2021 at 17:07
For this you need to use your own judgement based on what is normal in your country.
July 6, 2021 at 10:56
Hello Brit! I have been a silent follower of your blog for the last couple of years after I won DV 2020 and I am from Ethiopia and I found your blog has been very helpful and I thank you so much for that.
I have one request which you may be able to answer it.
My family and I got a medical condition recently and I emailed US embassy in Ethiopia about it and requested if they can expedite our case (our documents were qualified on 3/18/20) and this is what they replied- Please be advised that the total number of visas allowed under the 2020 DV program for Ethiopia have already been issued. Accordingly, visas from the 2020 DV Program will no longer be processed or issued. Regardless of your merits, U.S. Embassy Addis Ababa cannot give the application further consideration.
Is this true??? How can I know how many visas has been issued for DV 2020.
Thank you so much!!
July 6, 2021 at 16:30
Their position is correct (as far as they know), but they have told you the wrong reason.
Ethiopia did NOT exceed any quota.
However, the fiscal year has ended (September 30th), and normally that means there is no way any more visas can be issued. The only exception that might happen is to do with the Gomez lawsuit. But we have to wait to see whether Judge Mehta is going to order the government to issue the preserved visas.
July 5, 2021 at 11:54
Hey Simon,
If a DV winner is African, they reside in Egypt and their interview will take place in Cairo. Which number they follow on visa bulletin to check when their number is current, Africa or Egypt? Thanks
July 5, 2021 at 14:37
AF
July 2, 2021 at 13:28
Mr Brit
1. My question is relavent to Document submission. When submiting the document is it necessary to submit marriage certificate for spouse and myself seperately ?
2.At the time of document submission is there any problem if they mixed up means my birth certificate , my child passport, spouse birth certificate etc
Thank you
July 3, 2021 at 16:02
1. No. Once is enough.
2. Make it clear.
July 2, 2021 at 12:40
Hi Brit,
I’m looking through your blog, but I can’t seem to find a guide on what to do after receiving the “Ready for Scheduling” email. Do I wait for the 2NL? Or do I schedule an appointment with the embassy? Thank you
July 2, 2021 at 16:45
You have to wait for the 2NL
July 3, 2021 at 16:01
Just wait.
July 2, 2021 at 09:17
Hi Brit
I listed only my university degree in ds260 is it ok? Or i need to correct
July 3, 2021 at 15:54
The DS260 should have all you education from age 12 and up.
If you are DV2022, unlock and correct it.
July 1, 2021 at 22:30
Hello Brit;
I have a low number SA718, the documents have already been confirmed but I have not received my 2NL, even though KCC says that my case is ready to schedule an interview. A friend with the number SA1012 higher than mine, already obtained his visa in Georgetown, Guyana. Please if you can give me some advice.
July 2, 2021 at 04:33
I don’t have any magic method.
June 30, 2021 at 17:35
Hello brit thumbs up for all the good work u are doing. A very good friend of mine is in a mess and we really need your help. She won the dv2021 and because she didn’t know anything about the lottery process she got her self in the hands of one travel and tour firm claiming they will help her with dv process only to be dubbed and it’s now she just asked me if I know anything about the process, and of course I ve been on this site for some years now so I ve a little knowledge about the process. But I don’t want to add salt to injury could you pls give me your email address so I can give more details about her case and I know u can help as to start fro somewhere. Thanks your assistance. Waiting to get your email address.
July 2, 2021 at 04:21
People in the middle just make things worse. Give her the blog address and tell her to read the basic questions, the FAQ and so on.
June 29, 2021 at 16:41
Hi , my sister leaves in us.. she won a green card in 2014 and joined us 2015. Want to pay her a visit.. what is the procedure of applying for the interview
July 2, 2021 at 03:59
I only answer DV lottery questions.
June 27, 2021 at 12:30
Hi Brit, I received my 2NL two weeks ago and not yet get email for schedule (My local U.S embassy open and interview DV case).
1. How long does it normally takes to get interview email after got 2NL ?
2. If I still not yet get interview email who should I contact first KCC or Embassy?
June 28, 2021 at 21:44
The 2NL is the interview details. Perhaps you mean you received the ready for scheduling email?
There is no “normally” right now.
June 29, 2021 at 01:24
Yes, I mean the document ready email. My country is interviewing DV case but only few cases.
1. So is this mean nothing or all embassies will stop sending 2NL?
2. If I still not yet get interview email who should I contact first KCC or Embassy?
June 29, 2021 at 04:30
1. The ready for scheduling email does not guarantee you will get a 2NL.
2. The embassy doesn’t know anything about your case until KCC send the 2NL.
June 26, 2021 at 10:01
Hello Brit.
How would this legislation piece benefit dv2020 and dv2021. How fast do bill take to become law?
Is it more effective vis-a-vis the lawsuits? Explain and/or do a live stream concerning it please.
https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/3548/all-info?r=1&s=1&allSummaries=show
June 26, 2021 at 17:49
It’s just a bill. It means nothing at this point.
June 24, 2021 at 18:19
Hey brit simon, when i fill initial dv lottery, I put my wife original surname to her name. Does it effect? Or let’s say, her first surname, i put in on middle name. No spelling mistake.
June 26, 2021 at 16:59
No problem, just get it accurate in the DS260.
June 24, 2021 at 16:08
Hello Brit, on the 22nd I went to an interview and the CO approved my visa. Query, is it normal that ceacstatus remains ready?
June 26, 2021 at 16:47
Yes, it sometimes take a few days.
June 24, 2021 at 05:43
Thank Brit. pls can you throw light on that ” discretion ‘””
June 24, 2021 at 15:03
The CO will have the right to approve or deny based on their gut feeling.
June 23, 2021 at 14:56
Hi mr. simon my case is 2021AF22474 but i didn’t
my received my second notifications yet.
June 24, 2021 at 04:46
Just like many many other cases.
June 23, 2021 at 00:37
Hi Brit,
i am 2022AF39xxx. on the registration form i chose single instead of divorced. but on the DS 260 i chose the right thing ( divorce) . Please will this mistake affect my chance to get visa??
June 24, 2021 at 04:26
They have some discretion in that circumstance.
June 22, 2021 at 15:29
Greetings sir. Please Sir, when they said your case is at NVC what is the meaning?
June 24, 2021 at 04:04
That is answered in the FAQ.
June 22, 2021 at 14:49
Dear Brit,
I’m 2021AF36XXX. DS sent in July 2020. Documents sent in March 2021. No email requesting docs yet. No 2NL. I’ve joigned Goodluck.

We didn’t receive the 2NL,

June 22, 2021 at 14:34

June 22, 2021 at 14:39
What shall i do?
June 22, 2021 at 15:33

June 22, 2021 at 03:30
Hi Brit, I have a question, as I’m the one of the selectee of DV2020 and not received visa yet. If in case we won the Gomez case and 9095 become available for adjudication and I will be called for an interview. How can I include my spouse since I just got married. Do I need to ask KCC to allow me to edit or I just have to take marriage certificate to the CO.
June 22, 2021 at 14:17
You could discuss that with the embassy if you ever get an interview.
July 24, 2021 at 20:34
Hello is anyone in Cameroon has been schedule for interview
June 21, 2021 at 19:21
Hi Mr. Simon
I’m Debela D. I’m a 2021 DV lottery winner from Ethiopia , but I haven’t started the process yet because of many reasons like internet blackout by government, corona virus and financial problems. So, is that too late to start the process now like filling the DS 260, interview? And also could please give me an information on educational level I should have to qualify on interview?
Thank you so much, stay blessed for your work!

It is too late to start a DV2021 case.
