The latest VB has been released and I have to say I am disappointed with the progress in the numbers. I expected higher numbers for each of the 3 large regions, so to see these numbers is frustrating, and a concern for those that are waiting for higher numbers. So – there are two visa bulletins left for DV2025 after this one, and the government are leaving a lot of work to do at the last minute. Is that their plan? I don’t know – we simply have to wait and see and keep hope that the numbers will be reached

Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches, but we seem to be moving to a more normal procedure where almost all the 2NLs are sent before the end of the month, with just a handful being sent earlier this month. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.

hullo am a dv winner 2025,16k is my case number, kindly update me on the status of the Nairobi embassy why they’re not sending 2NL,ive been waiting since December 2024
July 2, 2025 at 08:30
They have not given any explanation of their non action this year.
June 5, 2025 at 08:55
Hello Simmons, Thank you so much for your reply and the great help you have been rendering. I have received your newsletter on the nationals that have been banned. My address or place for my interview has been affected (Freetown). I want to know if it can affect my scheduling for the interview, though I’m Ghanaian. I am asking because I have been current since March and even unto July but have not received my 2NL yet. The location is Freetown, and my case number is 2025AF24XXX. Thank you.
June 5, 2025 at 10:48
As you are Ghanaian, you are not affected by the ban. BUT FTN is backlogged, so there is a high risk that you won’t be scheduled.
June 3, 2025 at 04:58
HELLO SIMMONS, GREAT WORK YOU ARE DOING. PLEASE, I WANT TO ASK FOR YOUR OPINION ON THE CASE NUMBER 2025AF24OXX, WHICH HAS BEEN CURRENT SINCE MARCH, BUT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED 2NL STILL. DO I CHANGE MY ADDRESS OR WAIT? BUT THE STATUS IS ‘NVC.’
June 3, 2025 at 11:18
You are probably at a backlogged embassy, but since you are already current, you probably can’t do anything except hope they schedule you.
May 31, 2025 at 11:31
Hey mr Simon
Dv 2025
I asked KCC to unlock my ds260 four days ago to change my present address which i did, after that i asked kcc the status of my case and they replied that my DS260 has been processed which is second stage reply will this cause a delay for my case which will may be become current next month.
May 31, 2025 at 12:41
No delay. Stage 2 and Stage 3 are identical.
May 27, 2025 at 04:44
Hi Simon, first of all thanks for all the info that you share!
Case number is EU199XX for DV2025, Madrid embassy, what do you think about the chances of being current in August and getting an interview?
May 27, 2025 at 10:30
So obviously certain, I don’t know why you asked the question…
June 4, 2025 at 03:32
One advice, when your case will be Ready, write directly an email to the embassy
May 26, 2025 at 15:33
Hey Simon, mathematically speaking what case number range is Asia supposed to reach in order to meet the quota in DV 2025?
And also, one of the derivatives in my DS-260 changed their school, are we supposed to open it and update that? Thanks.
May 26, 2025 at 16:17
The math hasn’t changed from my earlier video predictions from January. However, what will happen next – I don’t know.
No need to update the DS260.
May 25, 2025 at 13:06
Hey mr simon
Dv 2025 winner with AF493** case number is it to late to unlock Ds260 to change my address so i can change my embassy, will this cause any delay with my ds260 which is already processed or is it ok.
May 25, 2025 at 18:15
It won’t cause delay. Do it asap.
May 24, 2025 at 15:12
Hi Simon. Thanks for all the good work you are doing.
I am a resident in Abu Dhabi but I am seeing something strange regarding the scheduling of interviews and I would be grateful your expert opinion…
The embassy seems to be prioritising the cases from Asia.
My case number (27K+) was current in February 2025 as the visa bulletin cut off for Africa in that month was 30,000. In same month, the cut off for Asia was 6000.
Up until now, the highest case number scheduled for interview for Africa is AF15322 and the interview was done in April.
However, I have seen that cases which were not even current for Asia as at February have been scheduled for interview. At the moment, they have scheduled interviews for case numbers as high as AS7094.
Assuming, the issue with the winners from Africa is a matter of late submission of the DS260, I’d like to highlight that I submitted my DS260 on 15-May.2024.
The response from KCC when I sent a mail.to inquire about the processing of my DS260 was “Your case number is now current for interview processing. If you are scheduled for an interview date, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvprogram.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.”
Your opinion on the scheduling of interviews at the embassy would be greatly appreciated.
May 24, 2025 at 16:00
You are in stage 4, but of course I don’t know when you entered that stage.
They have just scheduled AS cases that became current for June, so that is clearly unfair & incorrect as the AF cases were from the Feb batch. All you can hope is that they turn their attention to AF cases as a second batch in July (unlikely) or in the final two months.
June 24, 2025 at 13:25
Thanks Brit for your support.
Again in June, they sent 60 2NLs for AS region and only 6 for AF region. No AF case current since January 2015 has been scheduled. As it stands, only 60 AF cases have been scheduled compared to 495 AS cases at the embassy in Abu Dhabi and this disparity is alarming.
The embassy is not responding to mails and has not put any relevant information on their social media handles regarding DV 2025. They are just silent on the matter.
What would be your advise for AF winners who chose Abu Dhabi as interview location as there are only few months to the end of the fiscal year.
June 24, 2025 at 15:19
Advice? MOVE.
June 25, 2025 at 04:07
I sent a mail to KCC to transfer my case to another country but they responded that they cannot transfer my case to another post because my case is ready to be scheduled hence my request for your advice as to how to proceed. Below was their exact response.
“Your interview location is Abu Dhabi. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application or change your interview location.”
June 25, 2025 at 04:41
Unfortunately it is now much more difficult to move your case, and time is not on your side.
The only way to move now is that you contact another embassy and they not only agree to take you, but then contact KCC on your behalf and instruct them to assign your case to the nee embassy. That is rare, and hard to achieve. The embassy will need a good reason to go to that trouble. They will probably expect proof that you are already physically present in their district.
June 28, 2025 at 02:15
Thank you, Simon.
I have, however, seen a strange update for Abu Dhabi on the updated DVcharts today.
One case from AF region (AF425***) has been added to the list of scheduled interviews with the 2NL date showing as 19-May.2025.
This data was not there last week and weeks before.
So now, the data depicts no scheduled cases between 159** and 425**.
Is there any rational explanation for this, based on your expertise?
June 28, 2025 at 11:56
Not a big mystery – cases that transfer from embassy to embassy can appear out of order like that.
In this case the case was scheduled in Muscat in May. On June 18 it was moved the Doha and on June 27 it moved to ABD.

May 21, 2025 at 10:18
Already answered – https://britsimonsays.com/ask-questions/comment-page-860/
May 27, 2025 at 08:01
Hello Simon. My cousin is current since march 2025 and he was supposed to get his interview done this month but he hasn’t received his second letter yet. I don’t know if you’ve already answered this issue. If yes sorry to ask you again .
May 27, 2025 at 10:34
Your question is vague and without any useful detail.
May 19, 2025 at 23:58
Simon, hello.
Please tell me (what do you think or maybe you know for sure) what happens to the visas issued between October and February of the following year, if they were issued (pasted into the passport), but the applicants did not actually enter the US with them? The visas are valid for 6 months and if no one entered with them during this time, then there is still potential time for other applicants to reuse these places until the end of September of the following year.
It seems to me that either these unused visas simply disappear and the number of those who entered is less than it could be. Or the entry places can be reused by reissuing these unused entry places to other remaining applicants and then the number of those who entered will really be the maximum of all possible. What actually happens to these unused visas?
May 20, 2025 at 08:21
Unused visas (from whenever they are issued) expire and are not re-used for other applicants.
May 19, 2025 at 15:39
Hello Mr Brit
My question is this must one have the high school grades in his or her country during entry period or just enter the lottery and make sure the certificate is available at the interview
Thanks for your smart response
May 19, 2025 at 18:00
You need it for the interview, not the entry.
May 19, 2025 at 06:37
Hi Simon,
I’ve recently received news that my green card interview is scheduled for the 8th of July in London.
Unfortunately, my uncle, whose address I had planned to use for the delivery of my SSN and green card, has recently passed away. At this point, I’m still uncertain about where I’ll be settling in the U.S., considering homestays or stay in the UK until I find a job in the US.
Would it be possible for me to use the service you provide for the delivery of paperwork?
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Dan
May 19, 2025 at 17:35
Yes, I am launching the service in the next few days. You can then read the terms and decide if you want to use it.
May 21, 2025 at 03:45
I’ll stay tuned then. Thank you Simon!
June 3, 2025 at 03:35
Hi Simon, I wanted to check whether the service is expected to launch within the next couple of weeks?
June 3, 2025 at 11:07
Yes it is. Just been focused on other stuff. But I have some people already “signed up”.
June 6, 2025 at 12:18
Could I sign up as well? 👼🏻
June 9, 2025 at 20:28
I emailed you details.
May 19, 2025 at 02:51
Thank you for the update, I feel so disappointed with Nairobi Embassy, wish they would step up….been current since November 2024 at case number 141**……but I will not lose hope until it’s really over.
May 19, 2025 at 17:32
Best of luck.
May 17, 2025 at 15:07
Hi Simon,
I got you recommended by Chatgpt, it actually adviced you to contact with regarding DV Lottery. So, everybody knows you, even AI 🙂 My case has become current in this visa bulletin increase, the case was updated on 15th of May, 2025 in CEAC website. Europe region, did a transfer and changed my location. In CEAC, the status is ‘READY’ but I did not receive my interview date on ESC website. When should I expect to get interview date via email from KCC? How long should i wait before messaging to KCC about confirmation of my interview? Today is 18th of May, 2025. Thank you.
May 17, 2025 at 17:16
If your status is ready, then the interview is set, and the embassy has been notified. KCC don’t have anything more to do with your case. There appears to be a technical glitch at the moment meaning that the ESC page is not being updated – but be patient, that will come in a few days. Your interview is in July, so no need to panic.
May 29, 2025 at 07:31
Hi Simon. Thanks for your efforts and help. We are in the same situation at 29th of May. Ready since 19th but no 2nl and no changes in ESC page.
May 29, 2025 at 17:55
Yes, many are in the same situation.
May 16, 2025 at 04:26
Hello Simon,
My case number 2025AS100XX, Has chance to interview?
May 16, 2025 at 06:46
Yes
May 16, 2025 at 03:58
Hi Simon! Thanks as always.
EU 19000
What are the chances for “Hail marry”?
And also do you think Africa will underfill its quatas? In order to give EU some extra quatas?
May 16, 2025 at 06:46
For the last 2 months we will need to wait and see.
May 15, 2025 at 01:23
Hi will 25AS20XXX will have a chance for an interview?
May 15, 2025 at 19:14
That is risky – you will have to wait and see.
May 16, 2025 at 18:25
Hi Mya case number is 2025AS16XXX, has chance to interview? Pls advise.
May 17, 2025 at 07:53

May 14, 2025 at 23:21
Hi sir, my case number is about As12500 ,do you think l have a chance for current?and I want to know how many visas have been issued to each country so far, and where I can see this information? Best regards 🌷
May 15, 2025 at 19:13
You have a good chance to go current.
Data is here:

May 15, 2025 at 21:50
Thanks again 🌷🌷
May 14, 2025 at 18:01
Hello BritSimon
Is there still any hope for my case 25AS14xxx ?
May 14, 2025 at 20:35
Yes
May 14, 2025 at 13:06
Greetings Simon. God bless you for the great job. Any hope for AF79604 ? Embassy Yaounde Cameroon
May 14, 2025 at 16:10
You don’t mention which year – so that makes it hard to answer – but either way that is probably a risky number.
May 14, 2025 at 10:19
Hi Simon,
Very disappointed in the VB for July. I am AF47XXX and was so close to being current. I am on H1B and will be doing AOS. Would you say it’s safer to do early filing when your current in August/September? I’ve seen some people that they denied because they did early filing so I’m concerned.
Best,
Fatima
May 14, 2025 at 10:22
Early filing is normally safe – most mistakes are people that try to file before the October start (i.e. use early filing before the year has started) OR people that don’t follow advice to make the early filing clear. When I filed mine I had the early filing policy as the first document in my package – LOUD AND CLEAR.
May 14, 2025 at 05:56
@BritSimon, if the bulletin becomes CURRENT, do I have any chance to get 2NL with my case EU225XX in MTL ? From one of your last videos it looked as a decent embassy.
May 14, 2025 at 10:07
Probably – but it’s very hard to know what the capacity an embassy will set in the future.
May 24, 2025 at 09:40
I made a mistake and scheduled my appointment at Montreal embassy 5 years ago. They sent me on administrative processing because I didn’t have Canadian fingerprints. I had Canadian police clearance and clearance from my homecountry. I never saw anywhere in recommendations that we need fingerprints from the police together with police clearance certificate. They also asked me for work contract and proof that I have property in US and proof that I still have properties in Canada.
I also never saw such requirements. By chance I already had it with me. I felt like the woman interviewing me for DV was asking me questions as I applied for TN. She was commenting on my each proof: oh, you are very well prepared. And then bang: where are you Canadian fingerprints? I give her police clearance certificate and she smiles and says : you still have time to send it to us. I did it within next week and then
4 months of administrative processing and I almost missed my green card. Got it at the last minute basically. I would never recommend montreal embassy ever.
May 24, 2025 at 10:29
I’m sorry you had such stress, but you can’t really blame the embassy. It is really important to read the instructions in this process. The instructions are clear about the need to get the fingerprints.
This is from the reciprocity page for Canada.
“Procedure for Obtaining: To obtain this document, you must submit your fingerprints to a local police service or RCMP-approved partner agency. You must request a Certified Criminal Record Check For Personal Use. Subtype Other (Provide Details), and ask for a search of the RCMP National Repository Entire Holdings. Applicants must print these instructions and submit them in person when making their requests.”
May 14, 2025 at 03:17
if the case will be current in August For AS12XXX, Have F1 visa status and already applied for CP, What will be less risky? to apply for AOS or waiting for 2NL to interview in embassy? Which process is fast ?
May 14, 2025 at 09:41
It’s difficult to judge, because I don’t know your embassy. AOS properly filed in July (immediately after that VB) has a very good chance of completing by September 30th.
May 13, 2025 at 22:25
Hi Mr. Simon, is there still a chance for AS 21392 in Sri Lanka? I’m asking because I need to spend some money on police clearance.
May 14, 2025 at 07:39
There is some chance, but obviously a lot of risk.
May 13, 2025 at 18:58
So disappointed. Do you think the rest of VB is up to 15,000? I feel hopeless T-T
May 13, 2025 at 20:57
We will have to wait and see.
May 13, 2025 at 16:21
What about EU for DV 2025,how will go on
May 13, 2025 at 20:44
If only I had a crystal ball.
May 13, 2025 at 16:21
Is there still a chance for 25EU29XXX, or am I hopeless?
May 13, 2025 at 20:44
You have to hope….
May 13, 2025 at 14:56
What the hell are they up to! Very odd. Are they setting themselves up
for a situation where they just make these regions current?
May 13, 2025 at 20:38
That is an increasing possibility – at least a big jump – but honestly we cannot be sure.
May 13, 2025 at 12:49
Waiting in earnest for Nairobi 2NLs.
May 13, 2025 at 20:34
Fingers crossed for NRB!
May 13, 2025 at 12:45
Crazy how slow this one is moving. I’m EU 19k, right on the edge here. So I guess I’ll become current in August at this rate. I’m at the very, very close end of 19k as well, not the far end. It’s only a handful of cases before me at this point.
Makes me stressed out that it’s moving to slowly!
May 13, 2025 at 12:44
This is turning out to be one of the worst years for high case numbers in decades… :/
May 13, 2025 at 12:27
My case number is below the current cutoff and still I have not received the 2nl. Any hope?
May 13, 2025 at 20:33
It depends on your embassy. It’s a pity you did not mention that…
May 13, 2025 at 12:25
Hi Simon, thanks for the update. Based on these numbers, do you think the OC 1751-1800 range is still likely to become current for 2025? If so, is there still a chance for August or is that range much more likely to become current in September? I was really hoping to get the interview before September to avoid any issues related to them running out of visas, but not so sure now…
May 13, 2025 at 20:33
I doubt that we will see visas running out – and yes you are in a good position.
May 13, 2025 at 12:17
Hi Simon,
Its really sad to looking at these numbers. In previous years AS12000 (Sri lanka)already current in like these months. Cant understand give up hope or not. Is this year will be underfilling? Can i still have hope?
May 13, 2025 at 20:31
YOu can still hope at that number range, of course.
May 13, 2025 at 21:28
It actually seems like this year there will be under filling in most of the regions if not all. Possible intentionally via trump effect at limiting legal migration. The slow VB is a pointer to the same but we wait and see.
May 13, 2025 at 11:46
So disappointing @BritSimon
May 13, 2025 at 11:39
Very disappointing indeed. I am surprised that this year case numbers over 20k for Europe can even be considered high numbers.
