The new VB has just been released, and it’s a bit of a mix between regions as to who benefits.
No increase in EU, although EU is almost current with just a few cases left.
Now AS has moved a lot, but a relatively small increase in Nepal and Iran. So – good news for “Rest of Asia” I guess.
AF gets a pretty good jump but still still almost no move for Egypt.
No move at all for OC and SA.
Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. The new no documents procedure is still a little unknown, so we will have to wait and see exactly how that goes. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.
Processing is spread out over the full year. You can see the progress of the two previous years in this post about basic questions. However, some countries have a high number of selectees and those selectees are concentrated in the lower case numbers. For various reasons, mainly to do with embassy capacity, KCC slow down certain countries as compared to the region. So – in Africa, any case with a case number shown as under the new number can be interviewed but for cases from Egypt, that number is lower. That isn’t a big problem, it just “slows down” those countries a little more than the rest of the region. Since selectees from those countries all have lower case numbers, this slowing down does not present any risk. It does not (at this point) mean they won’t allow all selectees an interview from those countries.
To understand why some countries get lower case numbers, read this article about the lottery draw process.

Hello Brit,
I am wondering if an embassy can only send out 1 batch of 2nl or can they send out different batches of 2nl more than once in a month? Because my embassy has booked appointments up to June 30th already, and they have scheduled only 2 or 3 dv interviews max per day and there are even days with no interviews scheduled. Tragically, at this pace less than 10% of winners will have a shot at an interview before Sept. 30th.
April 24, 2022 at 23:38
They aren’t trying to issue all the visas. I don’t know whether they will send more for June or not.
April 21, 2022 at 11:36
Hello Britsimon, Thank you for your response. I am Dv AF2022 case no.28k I filled my DS260 in mid June and when I check the DS 260 it has an expiration date of 30/04/2022. What does this mean. My case status is still at NVC. The response I get is still processing?
April 24, 2022 at 23:36
You can ignore that expiration date on the form, it is about the form, not your case.
April 19, 2022 at 12:22
Dear Mr. Simon, please, is the Covid vaccine a requirement to get the appointment?
April 24, 2022 at 21:59
It’s a requirement for the medical.
April 26, 2022 at 09:55
Dear Mr. Simon, thank you in advance for your help and support. Actually, as I got that is possible to get an exemption on Covid vaccine based either on religious or moral convictions, I’d like to know how it works? And what should I have to do to get it? Thanks again!
April 28, 2022 at 04:47
My mother died from Covid and I have lost 5 people I knew to Covid. Frankly, I believe people that object to a life saving vaccine are utter morons, and there is certainly no legitimate moral or religious reason to avoid keeping yourself (but more importantly, others) safe. So no, I won’t help you with that – I will claim an exemption from helping you on intelligence grounds.

Dear Brit,
I got my green card issued in December 2021 thanks to your help (DV2021 AS9xxx)!
Now I am looking for work in the USA. I know the green card automatically elapses after one year; when do you recommend I should set the deadline to move to the USA? I vaguely remember you mentioned 6 months or less is reasonable and anything above that might cause issues.
Have a great day,
J
April 16, 2022 at 18:53
Absences under 6 months are technically easier than those 6 to 12 months, but 12 months should be considered a hard date.
April 18, 2022 at 16:02
Do you recommend traveling to the USA for a one week stay before the 6 month period is over (6 months after receiving the green card) so as to avoid immigration issues? This is assuming I intend to move 8 months after I get my green card.
April 18, 2022 at 20:03
No
April 11, 2022 at 18:27
Hello Brit
My Case number is 2022AS13xxx , and didn’t receive an interview appointment yet.
How does it work this year? Is it based on Case number or DS-260 Closure date?
Thanks in advance
April 16, 2022 at 18:25
Processing is based on DS260 submission date, but case number can also give an advantage.
Once processed, cases are scheduled in DQ date order.
April 6, 2022 at 23:27
Hi, I’m a DV winner and I received my 2NL already and was scheduled for the 11th of April 2022. But since my wife was breastfeeding she couldn’t get the Covid 19 vaccine on time so she couldn’t go through the medicals so on the 6th of April 2022 she had her second shot of the vaccine and was to travel to Beijing for her medicals but as a result of the Covid outbreak here she can’t travel from our city Yi Beijing for the next 14days. That is she can’t go through with the medicals. I wrote to the consulate here in Guangzhou for them to reschedule my interview and they said when it will be rescheduled they will let me know. So I don’t know what to do
April 16, 2022 at 19:47
Keep trying to contact the embassy.

Hello. I have case number 42XXX I would do my interview in Lusaka, Zambia. I have not turned in my documents yet. If I fill out my forms and turn in my documents is it too late for me now or is there still time for my case number and where I live?
April 6, 2022 at 23:45
There might be time. You don’t need to send documents to KCC now as the rule changed.

Thank you for your reply. I have not filled out my DS 260 yet. I should have clarified. Is there still time if that is so? And can you please direct me to the information about the rule change and what that means? Thank you.
April 16, 2022 at 15:50
There is time to fill out the DS260, yes. You have a chance.
The rule change simply means no documents are sent to KCC in advance of the interview.
April 4, 2022 at 11:02
What do you think about KCC asking for sending documents in one of their replies to one of the applicants !! details are on Morison twitter, please advice
April 6, 2022 at 23:32
The tweet itself points out that is incorrect and just a template email.
April 4, 2022 at 10:18
Good morning sir, please help me. my embassy in Liberia scheduling cases in 48xxx and my case in 47xxx but up to now my case still at NVC.do you have an idea of what is happening please?
April 6, 2022 at 23:31
Not in your particular case, no. In general things are a mess and many people will miss out this year.
March 28, 2022 at 11:39
Hello Mr. Simon, IF winning the DV lottery is only based on the applicants “chance” and “luck”, HOW COME it takes near 6 months to publish the results? these draws or lotteries can take few days at most these days! are they preselecting people by their education or work experience or etc..?
April 2, 2022 at 19:04
It’s just the process, including security screenings after selection which disqualifies cases for double entry and fraud.
March 25, 2022 at 02:12
Hello, good evening. For my interview, can I use the same documents that I submitted to KCC by mail? Or I have to renew all of them? Or I have to renew only the police records? Thanks
April 2, 2022 at 18:49
Depends on country specific instructions but usually you do not need new documents. The police cert is valid for 2 years.
March 22, 2022 at 10:10
Hi Simon,
thanks again for the useful Insight.
I have watched your latest DV Lottery Stream on Youtube and there you said that KCC processes the DS260s based on submission date. I originally thought that it also depends on case number because it is unlikely to have an interview scheduled after processing as long as my number is not current, even though if someone completed the DS260 quickly.
That is why I submitted my DS260 end of december last year (DV2022) and my case number is current since April (EU14xxx, embassy FRN). By DS260 is still not processed, only cases below 14xxxx are ready right now. I’m a little worried right now that I am at a disadvantage because I waited so long with the submission of the DS260.
What are your thoughts on this?
Also: Will you share Infos on your blog If you hear something about a lawsuit for DV2022?
Thanks!
April 2, 2022 at 17:19
They seem to be opening the DS260s in submission order, but opening does not mean they complete them. There is evidence that they are doing some prioritization for embassies that would otherwise have capacity wasted.
Curtis Morrison just announced a lawsuit – https://morrisonurena.com/dv-2022
And Jesse Bless has one too https://www.wasdenbanias.com/dv22landing (password 2022delay)
March 19, 2022 at 17:26
Good evening Simon. please what can be the model letter i can send to kcc to get my interview? I’m current for April and since then I haven’t received anything. yet my embassy (Cameroon) works well. they have already programmed for a case number of 44k. I send my ds since june 12. Thank you
March 20, 2022 at 20:59
There is no model letter.
March 30, 2022 at 01:06
Why?
April 2, 2022 at 19:09
Because everyone has a different case and everyone is supposed to be somewhat “smart”.
March 18, 2022 at 11:11
Hi Simon,
Hope you are well.
My case number will be covert in the month of April 2022. So I want to know how may I check when they send me the 2NL?
March 20, 2022 at 20:55
I don’t know.
March 17, 2022 at 19:12
Mr Simon,
I’m Italian and we have a case # 24.500… But yet any mail from the Embassy.
My question is: Is there anything we can do to push somehow?
March 20, 2022 at 20:52
No. Everyone is delayed. The lawsuits help some, but there are no open lawsuits as far as I know.
April 1, 2022 at 19:38
Hi Fabrizio, I’m Italian too.
My case # is 22XXX and nothing yet.
Ciao
April 2, 2022 at 21:31
Ciao Roberta, sapevo che c’erano dei super ritardi, ma non immaginavo che fosse questa la situazione…
Almeno una mail, una telefonata… e invece ancora niente.
Speriamo bene… Ciao!
Fabrizio

Are you still thinking that it isn’t a big problem for Egypt !!! we have 4 more visa bulletins “April, May, June and July”, and with this rate Egypt will maximum reach 16000 or 17000.
I don’t think the majority of Egyptians are between 13000 and 17000 specially Cairo embassy is classified as one of the top shit list embassies .
March 20, 2022 at 20:48
When have I said there is not a big problem for Egypt?? Of course there is a problem!
March 17, 2022 at 05:20
Mr Simon and Jesse ,

Thanks
March 20, 2022 at 20:47
1. A lawsuit or wait.
2. Nothing to do with your case, ignore it.
March 17, 2022 at 00:01
Hi Brit,
I have submitted my DS260 in OCT 2021 and my case number is 2022 AS28xxx which current for May based on today’s visa bulletin.
My question is what should I do now ?
Do I wait for KCC or the embassy to send me interview date or I have to more additional steps.
And when should I expect the interview invitation date ?
March 20, 2022 at 20:46
I don’t know.
March 16, 2022 at 19:13
hi sir received the interview appointment (april 29)
do I have to collect the documents now or do I wait until the date is close to avoid documents expiring
Question2:
I have the appointment with the doctor before 3 weeks of the interview is this not causing a problem?
March 16, 2022 at 23:06

2. No
March 16, 2022 at 19:08
Hi Brit,
Will there be any movements in oc now….since I have heard the Sydney embassy has started interviews. Is it likely oc will go current this year(I know it shouldn’t but is it likely). My case is 22oc15xx getting really frustrated seeing movements in other regions but none in the Oceania region.
March 20, 2022 at 20:45
I really can’t predict what will happen next.
March 16, 2022 at 14:56
How about 9095 visa ?????
March 20, 2022 at 20:44
They are still waiting for the appeal.
March 16, 2022 at 14:52
Hi great patriot,
It was in November 9th 2021 the last day of the DV2023 entry. Because I collected my passport almost 5 minutes to the deadline and I accessed the the official site to apply. I filled in the form and clicked “CONTINUE” and I was taken to an other page to confirm my details and I found out that I have one validation error which is the photo that failed to upload. and I uploaded it quickly and clicked the final “SUBMIT” button hoping to have a success confirmation page but all I could see was the page that is currently on the official site which reflect on the screen immediately they updated the site due to time (5:00 GMT).
My question here is: was my entry recorded when I have already clicked the final”SUBMIT” button and I didn’t have no session timeout nor a website crashed but only a website updation?
But I didn’t get a confirmation number as a result of time or page updation. But I heated the final”SUBMIT” Button just to see “THANK YOU The DV2023 entry period was ….” Just after hitting the final “SUBMIT” Button.
March 20, 2022 at 20:44
If you did not get a confirmation number you don’t have an entry.
