The visa bulletin has been released showing a 5k incrtease for AF, which is pretty much as expected. AS got a small increase, but at least it is an increase. However Europe has been held at 16K with only Uzbekistan being increased. This is a replay of what happened to AS region last month, and I’m sure will lead to all the same questions. It’s disappointing for EU because there does not appear to be much of a backlog, so May will be a fairly quiet month of interviews, which is a waste of that capacity.
OC and SA had small increases. That is understandable as both those regions are ahead of other regions in terms of issuances, and had relatively high VB numbers compared to the target (according to my predictions).

Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches, but we seem to be moving to a more normal procedure where almost all the 2NLs are sent before the end of the month, with just a handful being sent earlier this month. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.

Hi Brit, thanks for the updates. Am Stella currently in UAE and My Case Number is around AF47K. Would you advise me to wait for Nairobi or transfer my case to Abu Dhabi.
April 21, 2025 at 13:55
If you can transfer to AD you should probably do that, although there is risk in AD too. Can you transfer somewhere else?
March 24, 2025 at 13:30
Good day BritSimon.
How do I check to know if my DS260 has been processed?
AF259** FTN
March 24, 2025 at 13:36
You have to email KCC and ask.
March 20, 2025 at 11:53
AS 1800, any hope for interview this year? I am anxious
March 20, 2025 at 14:14
AS1800 is already current – so it is all about your embassy.
If you mean AS18000, that is obviously more risky.
March 21, 2025 at 13:33
Yes, I meant 18000. Thank you for your esponse.
March 19, 2025 at 21:54
Hi Simon!
My case number is 32k but when I sent email to kcc they replied it’s still processing my case. I filled out DS 260 on May 2024. Do suggest anything to do?
March 20, 2025 at 09:08
Some people believe that unlocking and resubmitting the form helps speed up slow processing cases. Other than that, just waiting.
March 19, 2025 at 16:24
Hi Simon,
Nairobi has taken too long to communicate do you think it’s high time we focused on other things because it’s seems like the embassy is not ready to give us a chance
March 19, 2025 at 18:45
That is a decision for each person to make for themselves. However, the decision to move embassies is best done by moving to another country and changing the DS260 address, and that is VERY hard to do after the case has become current. So – people should make their decision before their number is current.
March 20, 2025 at 01:57
Unfortunately, my number has been current since December. Thanks for always enlightening people on the next move. What is left of us is content with where we are, and we will try again in November.
March 19, 2025 at 13:16
Thanks a lot Now I understand better
March 15, 2025 at 11:41

Good morning again Sir?
Even though I resubmitted on that very day of January 26 before my case number became current, will I still not get 2NL?
March 15, 2025 at 19:18
Your embassy is backlogged. The delay has nothing to do with your unlocking.
March 14, 2025 at 21:49
I’m AF25*** from Freetown Sierra Leone Embassy, I reopen my DS260 in January 26 to correct my wife info. and my case number was current in Feb. 13.
I want to know if my case number will be processed and will I get 2nl for interview this coming April?
March 14, 2025 at 22:08
Freetown has already taken May interviews and unless they significantly increase their capacity you won’t get a 2nl next month either.
March 14, 2025 at 16:44
Hi BritSimon

March 14, 2025 at 19:53
It depends on which embassy
March 14, 2025 at 15:14
Hello Brit, Is there some hope for AF86K Togo in Qatar Embassy ?
March 14, 2025 at 16:29
Probably not.
March 22, 2025 at 03:04
Thanks for letting me know
March 14, 2025 at 12:57
It seems Trump effect starting to manifest already .. Slowing even legal immigration… Brace for tough times.
March 11, 2025 at 14:53
Well, having seen no movement on EU this month I start to doubt I’ll reach the interview phase with EU27k… such a shame :< Well, still keeping fingers crossed 🙂
March 12, 2025 at 15:20
Good luck.

Hi Brit,
My CN is 2025AS155XX. IIRC, in the Asia prediction video, you mentioned that up to AS17K is safe. Given that we are now seeing May at AS6500 only, do you think CN below 17K is at risk?
Thanks.
March 11, 2025 at 08:01
PS: I am on H-1B status, so I will go the AOS route once the CN becomes current for me.
March 11, 2025 at 18:11
The math hasn’t changed, but a lot could change in AS region with Executive orders. Better to wait and see.
March 11, 2025 at 07:08
Any updates from Freetown Embassy on how many 2NL they have sent for May?
March 11, 2025 at 06:05
Accra Embassy started DV interviews yesterday and the pace of work was very impressive. Thank you @BritSimon for the guidance, the visa was approved.
March 11, 2025 at 05:46
What
March 11, 2025 at 04:46
Hello Simon. Hopefully beyond 35k for AF we should see slightly higher VB steps since we’re at the cusp of a significant drop in case density. What do you think would be the average increase per month for the remaining four months? In your prediction video you said we can expect steps of 5k. However, I’m hoping for a minimum 7500 step to save me from this stressful situation. My Case number sits at just under 65k, not far from your predicted cut-off). Dv lottery hasn’t really been fair to me, this is my second win, 6 years apart, at high case numbers.
March 11, 2025 at 06:05
The drops in density are caused by country cutoffs. So – they don’t always cause the increased speed you are hoping for. However, it is clear that the government are doing everything they can to push AF to reach its quota, so that can help. Good luck!
March 17, 2025 at 11:21
Praying so hard to dear, we are in the same situation mine is Af70k but I believe God will see us through
March 11, 2025 at 00:03
Is there still some hopes for As10600 regarding this visa bulletin numbers?
Thanks!
March 11, 2025 at 05:58
Of course.
March 11, 2025 at 07:32
But I am from Afghanistan, 😢
Hope the ban won’t affect.
March 10, 2025 at 19:45
Hello Simon sir,
What is the reason of small number increase(VB) in AS(Nepal)? Any idea ..
March 10, 2025 at 21:58
I don’t know.
March 10, 2025 at 18:53
Hello Brit, Thank you for the information. I am really concern about the slow progress in AS region. My number is around AS7500. Do you think there is a chance to get my 2NL
March 10, 2025 at 19:38
Of course. Frankly, it’s a pointless question.
March 10, 2025 at 16:05
Hello Brit. How do you think there will be a smaller number this year in the EU, because the numbers for the month of May do not change at all, this is only for the EU. I am EU 21k. Do you think there will be a bigger increase in the coming months? Thank you for everything.
March 10, 2025 at 18:31
We can only speculate.
March 10, 2025 at 20:11
EU 21k is still safe to get an interview. Looking at the EU region that is not moving.
March 10, 2025 at 21:59
Of course.
March 10, 2025 at 16:03
Hi Brit, thanks 🙏 for the updates. I’m Richard from Nairobi case number 44K. Do you think I’m at risk by this time or I’m still safe 🤔? Kindly advise.
Thanks 🙏
March 10, 2025 at 18:30
It depends on NRb. You have to wait and see.
March 10, 2025 at 15:15
EU good capacity is what causes them to start eating into Africa’s quota so it’s good that EU was paused.. That’s what I have been asking to be done to avoid some regions being issued visas for Africa when there are Africans still waiting in the queue.
March 10, 2025 at 15:17
As happened in 2023
March 10, 2025 at 15:13
Hi Brit,
Kind of surprised by EU not budging at all. I’m 2025 EU 19K, would you think there’s any risk at this point? I was under the impression there should be very little risk at this number.
Thanks Brit for keeping us up to date.
Regards,
John
March 10, 2025 at 18:29
No risk at that number.
March 10, 2025 at 14:35
Accra Embassy is trying to do well this season. I was there today and they have scheduled so many selectees which made it challenging to conduct all the interviews today.
It’s a good thing though and we hope they keep up the momentum throughout the year.
March 10, 2025 at 14:33
Wow. A bit disappointing for Europe. I remember your video with bulletin number projections. Do you think there still will be a cut off at around 27k? Or maybe a current is possible for the end of summer? Thank you. A bit worried about my friends with eu25k case number
March 10, 2025 at 18:28
My math projection is still accurate. BUT I am not privy to their policy discussions.
March 12, 2025 at 15:53
Hi Brit, thanks for letting us know the updates. I’m Richard case number 44K from Nairobi. I’m wondering if at this time I’m still safe or I surrender!!!!!
March 12, 2025 at 16:01
If NRB restart interviews, then you will be OK.
