Well who is in the mood for some chaos? The government are, apparently.
The VB for September 2024 has been released – this one an important one as it contains the numbers for the end of DV2024. These numbers won’t change, they are final. If your number is lower than the numbers shown, then your case is current and you may get an interview. If not, then your DV2024 chance has ended.
Now, I have been saying for months that no regions will go current and the VB has been operated well until this point to assure that numerical control was enforced. I have always stressed we can never be sure about what the VB will do, and there are sometimes “surprises”. But this month is probably the dumbest thing I have seen in my years watching the DV process.
It seems someone at the visa office decided to have some fun and give massive unjustified increases across all the regions. Honestly, whilst this will thrill many, and no doubt *some* will benefit, this is simply going to lead to some form of chaos.
For those that are current, there are some embassies that are still backlogged and will not reach the highest case numbers for the region, even though those case numbers would have been interviewed elsewhere. This is an unfortunate effect still lingering from the COVID times which increased backlogs in other visa categories that affect the capacity that is given to DV cases.
Even in embassies that are not currently backlogged, there will be capacity limits that won’t allow the scheduling of cases all the way to the VB numbers.
There will be some embassies where they will have flexible capacity and they could take cases up to the max case number, but I don’t anticipate that will be many embassies.
So now we have the unfortunate position where a process that is supposed to be numerically controlled (as written in the law) will now be another lottery based on which embassy you are assigned to. That is dumb, almost cruel. And it will be hard to understand why someone will get a chance at an interview when another selectee won’t, just because of a few miles.
Also, this might bring back the DV23 chaos where they overschedule cases in September, and then visas get exhausted on some random date. People turned up for their interviews at embassies on September 7th last year, having spent hard earned money on medicals and travel, only to be told all the visas had been used. I honestly assumed the government would have learned from that disaster, but we now will have to wait a few weeks to see if they recreate that situation. Thankfully, I will be able to monitor that to some extent, but people may get locked in to some tough choices with late September interviews.
Two quick points.
Cases will still be handled in case number order. Take EU as an example. Cases from 30k to 49999 just became current, but they will be added to the AV queue for each embassy in numerical order (assuming those cases have been processed). So, within an individual embassy we will not see Cases being scheduled out of order, but embassy to embassy comparisons will show differences due to their capacity.
And second point, in some years the VB published in July also provides the selectee numbers for the next year, but this year it seems it will be another month before we know that important data.

Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches, but we seem to be moving to a more normal procedure where almost all the 2NLs are sent before the end of the month, with just a handful being sent earlier this month. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.

Hello Simon. Eu36.5k here from Dushanbe Tajikistan. I chose Rio as post in my ds260 out of embassy capacity concerns. Dushanbe seems to be doing well and my next concern is that should keep Rio or ask KFC to transfer my case to Dushanbe. By the way, we chose the latter in my spouse’s DS. Many thanks
July 12, 2024 at 08:22
This is a question you must answer for yourself, although KCC may not be quite as cooperative as you might exoect.
July 11, 2024 at 20:33
Hello Simon , i hope you doing well My case number is 103K Algeria i submitted my ds260 in 09/05 Do i have a chance ?
July 11, 2024 at 22:38
Your submission date makes no difference. It will be a matter of your case number, and capacity at the embassy. You can only wait and see.
July 11, 2024 at 20:08
Hello, I have EU48XXX and so happy to see the September Bulletin, but I still have doubts and I have two questions:
– How do you receive the 2NL? by mail? by e-mail?
– I’ve changed embassies and I’m now in Buenos Aires, do I have better luck at BNS? – Where does the embassy appear? on the DS, and also I filled in my DS 260 as quickly as possible in May, does that give me better luck?
Thank you again for your support, with your work you reassure and inform a lot, thank you very much.
July 11, 2024 at 22:40
1. Email
2. Your submission date means nothing, it is simply a question of your case number and capacity of the embassy. Wait and see.
July 11, 2024 at 15:58
Hello Dear Sir.
My cn is 102k and i’am from Algeria. i contacted kcc about the Situation of my case. and they replied : Your case number is now current for interview processing.
do i still have a chance to get my visa ?
July 11, 2024 at 19:22
That would require your embassy to massively increase their capacity. Will they do that? I don’t know.
July 11, 2024 at 11:33
Hi Simon,
I am filling out my DS-260 form, and I want to remove my spouse from the immigration list (we are married and she just does not want to immigrate). At some point, I was asked if my spouse wants to immigrate with me and I choose no and and I also say say she does not want to join me later.
1) In this case, do I still need to fill out form DS-260 for her?
2) If no, how can I remove her from the list of DS-260 at the home page that all the members including spouse and children listed?
3) Does removing her from immigration list harm my case?
Thank you
July 11, 2024 at 12:50
1. No
2. You don’t remove her.
3. No
July 12, 2024 at 18:43
Hi Simon,
Thank you so much for your prompt replies. They have been very helpful. I just submitted my DS-260. Are there any further actions I need to take such as emailing documents to KCC, or do I just now wait for an email from KCC regarding the 2NL?
Thank you again for your help.
David
July 12, 2024 at 22:15
Just wait
July 14, 2024 at 10:37
Hi Simon,
Do I need to pay any fees now to process my DS-260 before getting 2NL, or do I pay the fees at the embassy?
In case I need to pay the DS-260 fees now, is it at the fees sections of the home page of DS-260? I am unable to navigate to that tab and I get an error. Could you please guide me to the fee payment section?
Thank you
July 14, 2024 at 17:26
You pay fees on the day of.tje interview
July 11, 2024 at 08:15
Simon,
Is there a way to check how many 2NL’s are being sent during a particular day for the EU region?
July 11, 2024 at 09:29
Hello Kirkov,
I assume you are in the Sofia embassy? Which case number are you, because mine is 28.6K and still waiting for a 2NL.
Will be glad to exchange information on how each of our cases is going if we share the same embassy.
Drop me a message with some of your details if you want to communicate.
Best of luck to you!
July 11, 2024 at 09:33
I will know, but it’s not published daily
July 11, 2024 at 06:59
Hey simon, 2024EU37225 here, Croatian embassy, now that I am current what do You think about Croatian embassy, will it make problems about my case and what do you think my chances are and if I get an interview when it will happen? Thank You
July 11, 2024 at 09:30
You have to wait and see. I don’t know what KCC will do about the mess they just created.
July 11, 2024 at 04:02
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html
This backlog of NVC stating that “As of 8-Jul-24, we are reviewing documents submitted to us on 27-Jun-24.” is applicable to DS-260 of other immigrant visa categories, but not to DV. Correct?
July 11, 2024 at 09:21
Correct
July 11, 2024 at 04:02
Is it better to schedule the interview in Sarajevo based on the country of birth or in Frankfurt based on the current place of residence? In which embassy do I have a better chance for an interview considering the high case number?
July 11, 2024 at 09:21
KCC select the embassy based on current location
July 10, 2024 at 17:39
Hello Brit,
I am on an F1 visa in the US. Considering the significant increase of 43,000 for the EU region, do you advise adjusting my status?
Also, I got married last September in the US, but due to the high case number, I never submitted the DS-160. How should I proceed? Should I consider early filing with my wife as a dependent?
Thank you.
July 10, 2024 at 20:03

Thanks, Brit for the amazing work. Without your blog, I wouldn’t have even noticed the crazy bump and this opportunity.
July 11, 2024 at 09:24
Good luck
July 10, 2024 at 16:24
Hi Simon, I have questions about adjustment of status. I am in the higher EU30XXX numbers; First, can I submit my paperwork as early as September 1st when my number gets current (September 1st is on a Sunday this year, not sure if that affects it in any way) Second, since I don’t deal with the embassies, from my understanding from your videos, the adjustment of status should give me a higher chance of getting the GC processed? There aren’t as many resources for the DV lottery adjustment of status but I understand those are very rare cases. Thanks for all your articles and videos, very helpful!
July 10, 2024 at 19:48
You submit your paperwork NOW!
I hope you understand what you are supposed to do. IF NOT, you need to learn fast from the link below.

I’ve checked xarthesis and see which embassies are performing to current and which are performing poorly. Is there a way to see via the data how busy they are? Is there a way to see capacity?
July 10, 2024 at 12:13
Ooops. xarthisius. Definitely not an intuitive thing to spell. Ha!
July 10, 2024 at 16:19
You can see what they have taken in previous months
July 10, 2024 at 11:08
Hi Simon,
I’m a selectee from Iran with a family of 4, and my Number is around AS20000. I have not yet submitted my DS-260. I have a few questions:
1) Should I move forward and submit my DS-260 or is it too late and I will not get a chance for an interview?
2) In case I have still a chance to get an interview, do you have any recommendations for choosing embassies for my appointment? I saw in the comments that you mentioned Yerevan and Abu Dhabi are both backlogged. Does that mean in the short time remaining, I will not be scheduled for an interview at these embassies?
3) If Yerevan and Abu Dhabi are not good options for me, what embassies would you recommend?
Thank you,
David
July 10, 2024 at 16:17
Personally. I wouldn’t submit in your position. You must decide for yourself.
July 10, 2024 at 16:43
Just a hypothetical question, if I had submitted earlier, would I have had more chances?
Thank you
July 10, 2024 at 19:50
Yes. You have several risks which combined mean you have almost no chance.
One of the risks you have is the processing time of the ds260.
July 10, 2024 at 16:49
Also, I’m willing to take the risk. How can I figure out which embassy is the best for my case?
Thank you
July 10, 2024 at 19:52
As an Iranian you don’t have a good choice. They will pick either Abu Dhabi, Yerevan or Ankara. All three have serious problems.
July 10, 2024 at 09:54
Sorry to everyone who had no luck this year or is doomed to chaos. Personally we are positively surprised and might under extraordinary circumstances be some of the few profiting off of the high EU numbers. We are willing and able to continue the race until the end, even if it meant brutal defeat last minute.
ca. 2024 EU 46250
Madrid assigned due to residency,
Frankfurt chosen in drop down menu of DS260 during first time we opened it last year.
You mentioned our preference would probably be disregarded and that both posts are perfectly fine. After the recent changes, no longer requiring residence but only physical presence, we are no longer sure which post to expect to be assigned to if we don’t contact via email. If we get scheduled at all, that is of course.
We are getting ready to meet guidelines of both posts, which are actually differing a bit. We do not have a preference other than being at the one where we might actually get interviewed in time.
1) Please give me your data analyst’s two cents on which one that might be
2) Also, please be frank, as you always are, as to whether this could mathematically work out for us last minute, assuming bad performance of other posts in EU and globally.
I’ve had a look at both post’s perfomance records. In stark contrast to Frankfurt, Madrid has barely any cases associated. One could read into xarthisiuses data from last Friday, that it is minutely behind in terms of CN, but that might simply be due to it being difficult to interpret the progress with so few cases. There are some personell changes in Madrid with the Ambassador leaving these weeks, going back to the US to support Biden. I am unsure as to whether this could have relevance to the posts performance in September.
3) as it stands, can you tell me wether the friendly, somewhat boutique feeling Madrid appointment or a highly standardized Frankfurt visa production line is preferable for us in terms of where we might actually have a chance to interview earlier. I would imagine that the smaller post could allow us to be scheduled a couple days earlier, which could be decisive. Am I right?
4) should we still, now, quickly, proactively, underline via email our preference, if you were to suggested any, to increase our chances?
5) you mention that 2NL could be expected in 2-3 weeks from now for current cases. That refers to cases which will technically only become current in September, including us, who can expect their 2NL to already be sent out by the end of this month, if processed, correct?
6) Anything else we can do to increase chances, e.g. communicate availability to spontaneously jump in for dropped (canceled) interviews of other candidates? Any tips?
Thanks always
July 10, 2024 at 16:15
This isn’t close or confusing.
No chance at Frankfurt. Some chance at Madrid.
July 11, 2024 at 03:49
Reaffirmed MDD to KCC via email right away. Thanks!
July 11, 2024 at 10:20
And KCC responded within hours, MDD it is. Is it also where you and your wife interviewed, or did you do AOS?
July 11, 2024 at 12:51
AoS.

Hi Simon
My case number is 24019AS2024.
CAN I GET 2NL IN PAKISTAN
July 10, 2024 at 09:52
All you can do is wait and see.
July 10, 2024 at 07:03
Hi brit you said the last time that my case number of AF67K at Dakar embassy will likely not be scheduled, with this new information are my chances still low??
July 10, 2024 at 09:14
Wait and see.
July 10, 2024 at 06:10
Thank you Simon. I’ve been following your videos.
Question : Are DV interview dates issued based on Serial sequence of case numbers or based on how early a person submit his or DS260?
July 10, 2024 at 09:11
By AV queue order. Av queues are built in case number order from case that are processed regardless of how long ago those cases were processed.
July 10, 2024 at 04:54
This visa bulletin is so confusing, the best thing is just to wait and see, a pregnant woman must put to birth, and it’s sure that 2024DV must end in September good luck to all waiting for 2nl
July 10, 2024 at 03:20
Good day my friend
I just want to thank you for your efforts even when you are off on a vacation you had the time for the people that were waiting for you to explain what the hell just happened 🤣🤣 for those who are talking that you were wrong about the predictions they know nothing about the process and what was happening the whole year at all 😅😅 I am stressed it is very critical for me right now as my interview will be in September but I wish I get my 2NL from Jordan Embassy 🙏🏼
Have a great vacation 🙏🏼🙏🏼
July 10, 2024 at 09:06
Fingers crossed.
July 10, 2024 at 02:55
Hi Mr. Simon, I found that from 2024EU30000 to 2024EU50000, there are 5403 cases at NVC(like real ones who sent ds260). And from 2024EU30000 to my case number 2024EU341**, there are 1285 cases. Do I have a chance to be interviewed at the beginning of september?
My embassy: Tajikistan/Dushanbe
P.S: I am Data Analyst btw.
July 10, 2024 at 09:05
You might have a chance. The 5403 won’t.
July 10, 2024 at 02:18
Hello Simon,
What do you think about Sarajevo, Bosnia embassy? Are they accurate by your opinion?
My case number is EU2024 392xx
And another question. Because my number is 392xx and bulletin is for September, that means my interview will be appointed in September or can be apointed also earlier like August?
Thanks in advance,
Best regards.
July 10, 2024 at 09:04
If you get an interview it would be in September.
July 10, 2024 at 01:15
Hi Brit Simon,
My case number has been made current – AS26XXX. When I filed my DS 260, I was residing in X country in Asia, and included my address at that time in the DS 260 form.
Since then, I moved to Australia, temporarily for under a year, then moved back to the same X country and address in Asia. I did not unlock and update my DS260 form to include my address/ residence in Australia.
Will this affect my interview/overall DV application?
Wondering in the embassy will be understanding that peoples’ situations can change alot while waiting to hear back about their DV application?
Thank you!
July 10, 2024 at 09:00
Of course they understand that.
July 10, 2024 at 00:47
Biden is the best president ever. Vote for him next time and you the best yet to come.
July 10, 2024 at 19:02
It has nothing to do with Biden, chill
July 10, 2024 at 00:29
Hey Simon,
Have it happened before that when they release VB for Sep they change the cut off number that is written in Sep section of VB for Aug?
My number is EU 66,6xx and was really hopeful to apply adjustment of status from US.
Im having second thoughts if I should apply noww ! Have you heard any exceptional case that USCIS approved it with higher cut number ?
Thankss!!
July 10, 2024 at 08:55
No the number won’t change, and no there are no exceptions.
July 9, 2024 at 17:59
Hi Brit, we changed the the embassy location from Riyadh Saudi Arabia to Oman- Jordan embassy hoping that a Oman embassy is handling the cases faster as we hear from a lot of peopl. Our case number is AS163*** and we hope to get the interview notice. So we would like to know our chance and what’s your idea about Oman embassy, are they doing well?
Thanks
Salim
July 9, 2024 at 23:51
Take a look at the data.
July 10, 2024 at 11:19
Salim,
I assume you mean Amman, Jordan and not the country of Oman? I looked at the data for both Amman and Riyadh yesterday. Both were processing current numbers as of the last update of data I saw. To me, it looked like Riyadh was less busy, and I was glad to see that they are not only current but also don’t have to process as many cases. My brother-in-law is Jordanian and lives in Riyadh and won for 2025, so I was checking historical data to see if his embassy might be a problem next year. It appears that it will not as long as his number becomes current. If I were you, I would have stayed with the Riyadh embassy, but I think you could be fine in Amman.
Gina
July 11, 2024 at 06:24
Thanks so much, Brit and Gina! Yes, I was talking about Amman, Jordan embassy.
If you don’t mind could you please dhare the link where I can check the embassies data?

July 9, 2024 at 17:17
Hi Simon. I’m from Iran and I just got current. My embassy is in Abu Dhabi. Is Abu Dhabi performing well? Or is Yerevan better? And if Yerevan is performing better can i still move my case or will that ruin my chance? My case number is so high tho(178xx)
July 9, 2024 at 23:50
AbD and Yervan are both backlogged.
July 9, 2024 at 15:36
Hi Brit,
Do you know how the Tbilisi, Georgia embassy is doing? Are they backlogged, or do they have, as you wrote about some embassies, flexible capacity and could take cases up to the max case number?
July 9, 2024 at 23:47
Take a look at the data as I have described.
July 9, 2024 at 15:33
My case number is AS29288. I present in the US. Can I start adjusting of status even my number is not reached yet?
July 9, 2024 at 23:46
No
July 9, 2024 at 15:01
Hello,
Our case number is 2024EU257xx. The embassy is in Yerevan, Armenia. Do you think we have a chance?
Thanks in advance!
July 9, 2024 at 23:46
Wait and see is all I can say.
July 9, 2024 at 14:59
Hey brit simon my case no is AF1212** my embassy location is in malaysia what r my chances to get interview also is it possible to change the embassy while u r current
July 9, 2024 at 23:45
Probably too late to change. Good luck.
July 9, 2024 at 14:55
Dear Brit,
I filed my DS260 in May 2023, at that time I wasn’t a student but in October 2023 I decided to continue my studies, I am now finished with my first year, two to go for my bachelor. Will this affect my visa? Can they refuse me for it? And should I add it to DS and if so, how?
July 9, 2024 at 23:44
Can’t see what you think is a problem.
July 10, 2024 at 01:21
I will have to continue my studies in my country for 2 more years, hence I won’t be able to move until I finish my studies in my country of origin. Is that a problem? Also, do I need to add that I am a student and no longer work in DS260. And how do I add infromation? I
July 10, 2024 at 09:03
Your visa will have a validity of 6 months. You will have to do visits to the USA to keep your status. But honestly continuing studies in a foreign country where the education has less credibility is a questionable decision.
No need to update.
July 9, 2024 at 14:42
2024AS171xx, single, from Israel. Submitted the forms a weeks after being selected. Am I at risk?
July 9, 2024 at 16:39
*submitted the forms one week after selection
July 9, 2024 at 23:44
Everyone has some risk.
July 10, 2024 at 08:54
Sir, I understand that. But is this risk much bigger than the risk I had if the VB ended at 18k for Asia?
July 10, 2024 at 09:19
Not really.
July 10, 2024 at 22:09
So would you agree i’m 95%!getting a visa, given I have no criminal record, have means to support myself, and healthy, with no dependents, and have the education and experience?
July 10, 2024 at 23:24
It simply is a matter of getting an interview.
July 9, 2024 at 14:39
Hi Brit, my number has gone current now OC20xx, I submitted my ds260 the day the results were announced last year so I’m hoping it was processed early enough to get an interview, my embassy is Auckland, do you think there is a chance I won’t get an interview with the big jump in the vb?
July 9, 2024 at 23:43
You will be ahead of higher case numbers.
July 9, 2024 at 14:24
Hi Brit,
You have made a good job in your predictions. Besides I think the government made the regions current because some embassies in Africa are backlogged and so they are not taking many cases. Is like the government is thinking in terms of getting many people interviewed and the only thing they can do is to make some regions current to give those well performing embassies a chance to interview as many people as possible. In this way ,many people will not be screwed because the fiscal year is virtually coming to an end. I think that’s fair in my own humble opinion.
July 9, 2024 at 13:54
Sadly it is frustrating. But such is life, Allah has another for everyone.
July 9, 2024 at 13:25
Our case number in DV is 2024 34***. Is there any point in moving the case from Belgrade to another larger embassy? For example to London, USA or Canada?
July 9, 2024 at 23:42
It may now be too late.
July 10, 2024 at 01:25
Why move to larger embassy? Isn’t it better to be in a smaller one where theres less selectees?
July 10, 2024 at 17:34
I think what he means is, they are large as in well represented embassies but they process small numbers of DV cases e.g. London
July 9, 2024 at 12:44
Dear Brit,
Hope you are doing well!
I am writing to seek your expert opinion on my current situation with the Diversity Visa (DV) 2024 process. My case number is EU28.6K, (SOFIA Embassy) and it became current with the July 2024 Visa Bulletin. However, it has now been almost a month since the last visa bulletin, and I have yet to receive my Second Notification Letter (2NL).
With this recent post, you mentioned that 2NLs are typically received in the second half of the month or the beginning of the next one. Given that it is now past the beginning of July, I am growing concerned about whether I will receive my 2NL at all, especially considering the recent chaos and the substantial jump in the cut-off number for Europe to 50K.
Here are my specific concerns:
Timing: With almost a month since the last visa bulletin and no 2NL received, is there still a reasonable expectation for it to arrive soon?
Impact of New Cut-Off: How does the new cut-off number for Europe (50K) affect the likelihood of my interview being scheduled? Could embassies in Europe processing higher case numbers before mine indicate a problem with my application?
Embassy Performance: I am scheduled to interview at the U.S. Embassy in Sofia. From your experience, does this embassy typically experience delays or issues that might explain the current situation?
Any insights or advice you could provide would be immensely helpful as I navigate this uncertain period.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
July 9, 2024 at 16:27
Hi Antiono, I am in the same boat with EU27*** in WRW Embassy that also has some backlog and no 2nl so far. I believe the only thing we can do is to wait 🙂

Read my blog from today about priority, but as to what your embassy will do, I don’t know.

Hey! Commented a number of times this year, with OC206*; London embassy. Looks like I have a chance to be interviewed in September and I’m vaguely expecting my 2NL in the next few weeks as the London embassy seems to have consistently performed well. I just checked ESC site to confirm there was no interview date allocated to me yet, and saw on ESC that my “post” is listed as Sydney. I have lived in London for nearly a year now, and my address on the DS260 is in London. Do I need to change anything/contact KCC, or will they ‘definitely’ allocate me to London based on the information in my DS260?

You could check with them.
July 15, 2024 at 16:02
Sound advice, and probably advice I could have given myself! Have sent them an email now. Thank you as always! 🙂
July 18, 2024 at 16:05
I emailed them and they confirmed I will be scheduled at London!
July 18, 2024 at 16:53
Great.
July 9, 2024 at 12:04
Do we have a list of embassies and what dates they usually interview, particularly for the September month in mind?
July 9, 2024 at 23:38
No
July 9, 2024 at 12:01
It is a bit selfish, but I wish the same for DV2025 with my EU35K number. Well, if it is meant to be, it meant to be.

🙂

Another sad moment for AF especial DRS. We are current since June, as of now no 2NL. What you said is real another lottery within a main lottery. Looks what NRB is doing and we are just a few miles to them..DRS and KIGAL are doomed…Anyway, life has to go on…GOD has its own better future for us
July 9, 2024 at 23:26
I’m sorry. It shouldn’t be this way.
July 9, 2024 at 11:45
Hi,
Wow, shocked to say the least.
I am in the OC region but am processing via AOS (number was current in June), just waiting for an interview letter/interview.
What do you think the likelihood of OC embassies using all the quota before end of September?
July 9, 2024 at 23:26
The hard stop would be the global quota. It could happen but it depends on how many interviews they schedule. So we will know more in a few weeks.
July 9, 2024 at 10:46
Brit,
If we submit the DS just now, is there enough time to have it processed and get interviewed in your opinion? EU48XXX
Thank you.
July 9, 2024 at 23:20
Which year and which embassy?
July 10, 2024 at 03:47
2024, Chisinau. We submitted the DS forms just yesterday.
July 10, 2024 at 09:06
Ok let me know.
July 10, 2024 at 10:36
I will. What is your opinion though? Have you seen something similar being successfully processed on time?
July 10, 2024 at 16:16
Yes, but this year just got silly, so that adds an extra complexity.
July 9, 2024 at 10:41
Hello Brit,
I hope you are doing fine .
OMG, I don’t understand the VB this month, and I totally agree with what you said about it.
I am even more confused and more worried about my case number as Europe is now 50K and I still didn’t received my 2NL in Paris while my case as been current for the last visa Bulletin( 29K). I’ve seen on the comments that I am not the only one and it might be because of the Olympic Games. I’ve tried to call the Embassy to ask them about it but it is impossible to talk to someone.
-Do you think we will received our 2NL? when should we start to panic?
-Are we prioritized because we were current in the last visa bulletin?
– With this new VB, could Europe reach the quota and used up all visa available for that region?
I am very worried because I see Frankfurt (for example) is sending a bunch of 2NL above my case but with this configuration of 50K , could it be possible that they used the quota before we get called for an interview.
I don’t understand what happened today….
Thank you for your time and investments in our questions. You are the only one who really understand the visa bulletin and this process and who take its free time to help us so thank you again very much
July 9, 2024 at 12:02
Hello Calypso,
I am currently in the same situation.
Europe 28.6K. Case went current with last Visa bulletin and still no 2NL.
I don’t know if we should start panicking. I attempted to reach out to the KCC and no one picks up the phone. I emailed them a couple of times and received some generic answers with a standard text not providing me full information to my questions.
This Visa bulletin for Aug is pure chaos.
Let’s hope Brit provides some clarity.
Good luck to you in the meantime and hope you receive the 2NL soon!
July 9, 2024 at 15:14
Hi Antonio S.
Thank you, I hope you received the 2NL as well. Let’s hope for the best 🤞🏼🙏🏼.
I ‘ve called the Embassy this morning to ask them some infos about 2NL but no one really answer they only transfer your call to an automatic standard.
Yes, this visa bulletin is pure chaos and I hope we won’t miss out because of other embassies taking more cases. Everyday, I am hopping to receive the 2NL. I don’t understand why we still didn’t receive it. I thought Paris was a performing well…
I don’t know if we should start panicking at this point… Let’s see what Brit would suggest.
Good luck to you too. If we have more infos or received the letter, Lets keep us updated
July 9, 2024 at 23:19
1. I dont know what capacity they will set for Paris in September.
2. You are prioritized against newly current cases at your embassy.
3. Yes, that is a possibility.
July 9, 2024 at 10:24
I know I ask the same question, but I really need answer. My number is AS29288. Can I try to apply for my green card? I present in the US.
July 9, 2024 at 23:14
No.
July 9, 2024 at 10:19
My Case number is AS273xx
Can I expect 2NL from Colombo embassy
July 9, 2024 at 23:13
You’ll have to wait and see.
July 9, 2024 at 10:17
You were so sure that no region will go current and they need to schedule a few thousands more for September. Just admit that you were wrong and there’s no logic in your predictions.
July 9, 2024 at 10:59
His predictions and methods to arrive at them are logical. What the US government just released is illogical. Please take your rudeness elsewhere.
July 9, 2024 at 12:01
Your comment is illogical, please leave
July 9, 2024 at 12:47
US government did what it always does, the further they from the quota more chances to go current for the region or for huge jump in visibility. There was no any reason to believe that number of real cases in cutoff would be less then previous years
July 9, 2024 at 23:13
LoL
You’ll understand in time.
July 9, 2024 at 10:10
Hello Simon,
My case number is 2024OC19XX and have been assigned to the Mumbai embassy. My case number has been current since May 8th.
After the chaos in the latest visa bulletin, is there any risk for my case?
Thanks for all your help in this journey.
July 9, 2024 at 10:15
I’m still waiting for my 2NL
July 9, 2024 at 11:59
Can the Mumbai embassy prioritise a specific region and overlook the OC cases?
July 9, 2024 at 23:28
The embassies don’t pick the cases.
July 9, 2024 at 23:11
Of course there is risk, there always is until the visa is in your hand.
July 9, 2024 at 23:18
Can the Mumbai embassy prioritise a specific region and overlook the OC cases??
July 9, 2024 at 10:05
Hello Simon, it is a big shock indeed, especially AF. I have been studying the CEAC data for a while now. I thought the cutoff would be 95k for Africa, based on my analysis but I never expected this. On the other hand, it is not fair to keep high-case numbers waiting in embassies where the capacity is available. If they did cut off at 80k as you anticipated, they would have left off so many viable cases in the high case ranges. The DV process has never been fair in my opinion; I won in Dv2018 with AF49k (I won Dv 2025) and the cut of was at 39k, but somehow some people in Af52k got their interviews because they were in embassies abroad.
July 9, 2024 at 20:21
What they have done can only end one of two ways.
1. Schedule loads of people and then cancel interviews later
2. Leave many people current with no 2nl.
It’s dumb.
July 9, 2024 at 09:45
Let the stupid games begin
This is shocking
July 9, 2024 at 09:50
Exactly
July 9, 2024 at 09:56
I think they are looking for some extra cash and broken hearts.
July 9, 2024 at 20:19
Yep. It’s awful.
