Hi Brit Simon ,
My case number is 2024EU217XX
I have a few more questions for you
1- After 2NL arrives KCC wil not care with me anymore for the file transfer process. Will the file transfer be safe if I email KCC before 2NL arrives? I don’t know how interested embassies gonna care in me after 2NL.
2- If you were me, would you wait for 2NL?
3- If you were me, can you trust Ankara Embassy ?
Best regards
April 23, 2024 at 07:56
Hi. You better take action now. You will be current for interview in the next visa Bulletin and if you had not taken action before then, you will be locked wherever you are. You have the possiblity to know which EU embassy does best for you to to the case transfer. You will be current in less than three weeks.
April 23, 2024 at 08:57
Regobertyuh is exactly correct. If you wait to become current in order to move you will be locked in to ANK who will never get to your case number. You have a small window to unlock and change your address to another country. DO NOT ask to move embassies, just change the address. Do that now.
April 24, 2024 at 11:14
I understand. Thank you. How can I unlock the file? Do I need to send an e-mail to KCC to unlock it?
April 24, 2024 at 11:29
Yes.
April 24, 2024 at 11:20
Thank you for inform. I have a few options as to which country to move my file to. So should this be a European country?
The visa performance of a country in Europe is very good. I looked at the Ceac datasheet.
April 24, 2024 at 11:33
Yes. Thank God you have some options. If you are in Europe it will speak good for you in terms of the cost to briefly relocate. I hope you already asked for the unlock of your DS-260 since yesterday so you could edit the interview location to match your mew choice. When you would have modified after the DS-260 unlock, inform KCC about your move and they will still have a hand to effectively make the change. You have limited time. So, treat this as a matter having a once in a lifetime family cake and losing it maybe for life in just two weeks due to nothing short of negligence or carelessness.
April 24, 2024 at 12:18
Thank you for inform. I will consider the best option. Thank you for enlightening us. I wish you success in your business life.
Best regards
April 24, 2024 at 12:35
Don’t mention. I am just a selectee from Africa and try my best to have a full grasp of what Britsimon has been preaching since May 2023 when the 2024 results were made known.
April 23, 2024 at 09:02
1. Your 2NL will never arrive at ANK.
2. No
3. I can trust them to never get to your case number.
April 24, 2024 at 12:14
Thank you for inform Mr. Simon,
What do you think about Ankara’s performance?
April 24, 2024 at 12:16
Do you mean that I have no chance of getting an interview with this file number in Ankara?
Best regards
April 24, 2024 at 15:22
Correct.
April 25, 2024 at 12:33
Hi Brit Simon
Can you expect case on July for Asia?
How many case for AS to be current?
Can it jump to 1,000cn? (Below AS10000)?
Thank you your answer,
SIROT WONGWIWATKORNCHAITHAMRONGKULA
April 26, 2024 at 09:55
I will wait and see.
April 23, 2024 at 09:13
Hello, Dear Simon.
Please give me the NVC’s email address so I can contact them about expediting my interview. I’d like to contact the NVC through email about expediting our interview by stating our reasons for doing so, even though our case number is not current. I already contacted the KCC, but I did not receive a satisfactory answer. They just replied that my DS-260 is complete and attached unneeded samples, and who is responsible for scheduling interviews?
Thank you!

Sorry, but I could not find any answer
April 23, 2024 at 10:00
Please can you answer to my question
April 23, 2024 at 12:43
Click. The. Link.
April 23, 2024 at 21:19
Good morning!
I mentioned that I could not find any response, unfortunately! Please, can you answer!
April 23, 2024 at 23:07
1. NVC have nothing to do with your case.
2. I already explained, several times, that there is no such thing as expediting a case. It would be against the rules.
3. Your reasons for justifying expediting are completely trivial (a matter of your convenience, nothing more than that).
4. I am surprised you continue to ask me on this same question – it’s a waste of time – yours and mine.
April 23, 2024 at 11:26
Hello Simon, hope you’re having a good day! I had changed (updated) my address on the DS-260 on the 8th of April. Do you think enough time has passed for me to now send a casual mail asking about my embassy?
Thank you.
April 23, 2024 at 12:45
Yes – do that before the end of the month just in case the next VB rises above your number.
April 23, 2024 at 13:16
Alright, I will do so now. Is there anything particular I should say? Or is it enough to just ask “hello I am enquiring to see if my embassy has been updated or not”.
Thanks again.
April 23, 2024 at 13:31
More like, “as you know I now live in XXX country, so can you kindly confirm that my embassy choice has been updated to YYY embassy”
April 23, 2024 at 13:43
Got it, just sent it now. Thank you again, I really appreciate it!
April 23, 2024 at 16:08
Hello Brit,
I know the burden of proof is on the applicant to show that they received an equivalent of a high school education/diploma.
Do you think it’s a good idea to get a foreign education evaluation from a NACES member to take to your interview to show that you do have an equivalence of a high school diploma?
April 23, 2024 at 16:20
That wouldn’t normally be required since the embassies are used to seeing various qualifications in their area.
April 23, 2024 at 21:28
Hi Simon!
This is a partially a repeat question but in terms of extra documents you could bring to the interview (pre-filled DS5535, I-134 form, maybe some extra documents official or unofficial that could help etc.) to increase your chances of success + reduce your chances/processing time of 221g do you have a list or anywhere for reference?
I have been trying to gather as much documents/info as I can but wanted to double check with you since you are the master (for lack of better word haha) at this.
April 23, 2024 at 23:09
Every case is different, so I don’t have a definitive list
April 25, 2024 at 00:19
Ah that makes sense, is there a general recommendation of things that could be good to have?
If you’d want a specific case it’d be for Iranians who have live abroad all their lives
And thanks for your reply and all your help!
April 25, 2024 at 07:43
The main thing is to read the instructions and compile the required documents. Additional documents such as financial would be worth having, as well as anything else that makes sense. It’s common sense really.
April 23, 2024 at 23:46
Good day to you, hope you are doing well.i have a question to ask you.what do you think about the final visa bulletin for Europe .if they are planning to issue all the visas is it possible for them to reach the visa bulletin up to 36k for Europe. thanks for helping
April 24, 2024 at 08:27
That is in the “possible” range, but we will have to wait and see. The problem as I see it is that there are not a large number of interviews being scheduled, so I don’t think they are trying to issue all the visas.
April 23, 2024 at 23:47
Thanks for your answer
April 24, 2024 at 01:50
hi sir i am from nepal my wife is edv winner when she goes and get her greencard can i proceed i130 with court marriage certificate .
April 24, 2024 at 01:51
we are planning to do court marriage after she get the visa
April 24, 2024 at 08:28
Yes you can do that, but it will take some years.
April 24, 2024 at 09:22
i cannot fill the form when she get green card sir to fill the form i130 how much time is needed plz explain sir
April 24, 2024 at 09:45
Once she moves to America she would then file an I-130 for you. That will take 2 to 5 years, but I don’t advise on that process. You really should have married before so you could be added to her case.
April 24, 2024 at 03:56
Hi Brit, please I am qualifying through work experience as an electrical engineer. Please I want to know wether the consular will ask me for a bachelors degree in engineering, because when I check on the ONET website, it says most people in the field are having a bachelors degree . I have three Technical certificates and I did a two years training at the company where I’m currently working.
April 24, 2024 at 08:31
Well firstly I would say that they would be looking to check whether you are an electrical engineer (designer of complex installations), or an electrician (wires up houses and other buildings). The first job qualifies, the second job doesn’t.
As long as you are doing the right job, the training you did to achieve that is not what they measure the job on. The experience matters not the training you did to get the experience.
April 24, 2024 at 03:59
Hi Brit, please will the consular ask me for a bachelors degree since I am qualifying as an electrical engineer?
April 24, 2024 at 06:21
Hi BritSimon,
What is the chance of getting visa approved after
1. 221g was issued after 1st interview (7th March 2024) with additional documents to be submitted.
2. No slip was issued after 2nd interview (22nd April 2024) and “Ready” was updated on their site after the interview.
How long does it take for issuing visa after 2nd interview.
Thank you
April 24, 2024 at 08:36
The time varies, and I can’t guess the chances in your particular case.
April 24, 2024 at 07:24
Hi BritSimon! How is the Paris embassy doing ? My CN is EU 24,9XX so I will probably become current in July or August. The thing is July and August will be crazily overcrowded in Paris because of the Olympics and Paralympics and the site of the embassy mentions that they saved many appointment spots for the ”million of US citizens expected in Paris” for lost passports or wallets etc.
Do you think I should unlock my DS-260 and ask for an appointment elsewhere ?
Thank you so very much.
April 24, 2024 at 08:37
It’s an interesting point, but I don’t have a way to know what the impact will be – so you must decide for yourself.
April 24, 2024 at 09:46
I live between Montreal and Paris. Based on your knowledge and understanding of the data, does the Montreal embassy and the Paris embassy perform similarly so far ?
April 24, 2024 at 09:50
They are both doing ok.
April 24, 2024 at 18:35
Thank you for your response. What do you mean by ”ok” ? Is there an EU embassy that is doing ”great” at this time to your knowledge ?
April 24, 2024 at 19:25
OK means fine. Neither has a lot of cases so neither can be considered “great”. But they aren’t heavily backlogged, so they are “ok”.
April 24, 2024 at 16:19
Hello Sir,
I have been trying to schedule interview for my mom for USA tourist visa- Us embassy Suva, Fiji. Last year we applied through a travel agent and the visa got denied. This time I’m applying myself and when I’m going to the website entering my moms personal information like passport details and stuff, the system shows that there is a duplicate profile that exists to the embassy’s website. What does that mean? How can we proceed with the application.
Looking forward to hear back from you.
Thanks
April 24, 2024 at 16:33
I only answer DV lottery questions.
April 24, 2024 at 19:26
Do you think all the results are done by now or are they still filtering out applicants?
April 24, 2024 at 21:50
I don’t know
April 24, 2024 at 21:07
Hello Sir
What does status “Administrative Processing” mean?
April 24, 2024 at 21:51
That is part of the visa printing process.
April 25, 2024 at 12:56
Noted Sir
For SUV Embassy, normally how many days does it take for Status to change from AP to Issued.
My interview was on April 23rd and today is April 26 still on AP.
I am definitely getting scared now 🥹🥹🥹
April 26, 2024 at 09:55
Relax.
April 24, 2024 at 21:22
Hello! If NVC asks me to include the principal applicant’s in green card lottery mobile phone number when contacting them via email, can i, who is principal applicant’s son write my phone number since my father doesn’t know english if they contact him. Thanks!
April 24, 2024 at 21:56
As I have told you several times, NVC doesn’t handle DV cases.
I wish you would pay attention to what I have told you.
April 24, 2024 at 22:24
I know what you have told, but now i am asking you If NVC asks me to include the principal applicant’s in green card lottery mobile phone number when contacting them via email, can I, who is principal applicant’s son write my phone number since my father doesn’t know english if they contact him. Thanks!
April 24, 2024 at 23:12
And it is an invalid question because NVC don’t handle DV cases.
I can’t help you at all because you don’t listen and just waste my time. Please seek guidance elsewhere.
April 25, 2024 at 12:04
Hi Brit Simon
I sent the following e-mail to KCC.
I wrote my information first of all ;
I want my file to be unlocked. I will change the country and city where I will be interview.
I request your support.
Best regards.
KCC gave me such a turnaround.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Once the DS-260 for the Principal Applicant has been submitted, the interview location can only be updated by the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC). Please send your request to [email protected]. Unless they are in the U.S. and adjusting status, all applicants on the case will be scheduled for interview with the Principal Applicant. You should contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate directly to arrange separate interviews, if needed.
If your interview has already been scheduled, you must contact the U.S. embassy or consulate to request a transfer of your case. The U.S. embassy or consulate will determine if it will accept your case for transfer.
For additional information, please refer to the following websites:
What do they mean ?
How to unlock my file ?
April 25, 2024 at 12:45
You can’t just update your embassy choice (that is what they are saying). However your embassy selection will be made by KCC based on where you live, so what you must do is unlock to change your address and later (once resubmitted) you can confirm that the new address will be considered to select the embassy.
So to be clear you will only get their cooperation for an unlock for the address change.

April 26, 2024 at 00:33
I understand thank you Sir. I looked at your page and read it.
I live in Turkey. I do not have a residence or work permit in another country.
1- Then is it true that I cannot change the visa interview location?
2- Would it be better to do this after my case is active?
Best regards
April 26, 2024 at 04:12
1)You aren’t the one one to effectively carry out the change. KCC follows what is in your DS-260. So if you have corrected something on your form(embassy change) they will effect the change for you.
2)I don’t really know what you mean by active. You seem to be joking anyway. Kuz when you become current in slightly over two weeks it will be over for you.
April 26, 2024 at 10:00
You are going to waste a greencard through procrastination.
April 26, 2024 at 11:30
Sir ; I sent an e-mail to KKC. They give me the same answer. I sent an email like this. I said I want to move my interview location to XXX country for the visa interview. I wrote it properly, following the e-mail rules. First of all my informations and after my request…
I made you very tired. Thank you for your support
1- Is it enough if I just say I want to unlock the lock? I just want to unlock it. ?
1- If I unlock it, can I update it myself?
The answer they gave me is as follows.

April 26, 2024 at 14:28
Sadly it seems you have not listened well, and now have made them edgy. You can try and unlock, but you can’t just change the selected embassy even once locked. That is exactly what they have told you. All along you should have focused only on changing the address.
April 25, 2024 at 13:57
Hello Brit I had my interview on the 17th in Yaounde and was placed under refused221g and the consular officer asked me to submit the lacking document along side our passports which I did two days after so I was asking how long can it take for that to be reviewed and approved.
April 26, 2024 at 09:56
The time varies – be patient.
April 25, 2024 at 16:13
Hello Simon,
I have a bachelors degree in Engineering which I typed in ds-260 and after university I took courses in programming and in graphic design, when I filled my ds-260 in work field I typed programming and graphic design, in that time I was working as a designer in company and I was planning to start working in programming as a freelancer that I typed both but officially I worked as just a graphic designer.
now my question is (I have a degree but never had the opportunity to work with it) in the day of interview if they asked me what you will work in US what should I answer, because I have just a degree in engineering and I’m not planning to work with it, or if they ask how come u work in those field and have different degree,
I have some papers to show that I took courses in those fields but it’s just normal paper not from some colleges or something.
I’m sorry for my long question and I know it may be silly but I’m really overthinking in that matter
and thank in advance
April 26, 2024 at 09:57
Yes overthinking. You are not required to work in that field.
April 26, 2024 at 00:21
Hi, just wondering… why is there so many poor People in the US when there is a lot of job opportunities available ?
April 26, 2024 at 09:58
1. Because they get low paying jobs
2. Because they don’t understand how to avoid debt.
April 26, 2024 at 03:24
if trump win the election what is the chances of stop immiragration process
April 26, 2024 at 10:01
He could cause some short term damage through executive orders, but won’t achieve any change in law.
April 26, 2024 at 10:31
is there a possibility that he stops doing dv program? apparently back under his presidency he said he wanted to finish it but never did
April 26, 2024 at 10:39
That would take a change in the law. Trump is not effective at changing law, and immigration law is particularly difficult to change.
April 26, 2024 at 07:02
Do you have a video or a guide or something with regards to the DS-260 form? There are some questions on that form I wonder about… About 20 questions…

April 26, 2024 at 11:14
Hi Brit,
Thanks for your supporting videos on this not much documented process.
Here is my question: during the interview, does the officier ask about having a host in the us? Is it mandatory, and if not, if you don’t have one, is it a bad thing? Because we (with my husband and children) are having our interview next month and we saw that this question could be asked.
Other question: my daughter is 10 and have a disease: she is diabetic She has medication (insuline) and she is perfectly fine. Do you think it could be a raison to deny the green card?
Thanks in advance for all your help!
April 26, 2024 at 14:27
1. Host is not mandatory.
2. No problem about your daughter
April 26, 2024 at 11:57
Hi Simon, I’d like to hear your opinion if possible. Since the beginning of the war FRN consulate is set as a default for ukrainian nationals. Me and my wife (I’m derivative) stated WRW for interview in the DS from the very beginning in June 2023. Since october 2023 I’m stationed in Poland for obvious reasons and wife is still in Ukraine (we’re unlocked our DS forms and added this info later of course). So my question is: what are the possibilities that our interview will be set up still at FRN instead of WRW?
P.S. our CN EU21 1XX
April 26, 2024 at 14:30
They would base it on the selection you made OR the address of the principal applicant. You can email KCC to confirm, or just wait.
April 26, 2024 at 12:58
Hello sir if I transferred my interview location to another country and I am given an appointment (eg Ghana to Togo )can I email Ghana embassy to accept transfer of my case from the Lomé,Togo embassy to the Accra,Ghana embassy.
April 26, 2024 at 14:30
Yes
April 26, 2024 at 13:13
I am a dv winner from Ghana and I change my interview location to the Lomé, Togo embassy so i was an appointment on 25th of April. I went to the interview but they didn’t allow me to do the interview because of my permit of residence card was not ready and I have applied for it before i was scheduled for my interview so they told me to email if the permit of residence card is ready.so I went where i did the card for inquiries and they told me since am from Togo there’s some documents I need bring and I brought but they said since I am not a Togolis they can’t do the permit resident card for me.so i want to email the Accra,Ghana embassy to accept my case transfer in their embassy so that they can schedule me new appointment but am scared of their performing is this advisable and will they accept my case and schedule a new appointment thank.
April 26, 2024 at 14:31
Ask Accra if they will take your case.
April 26, 2024 at 13:22
Hi Simons, I submitted my DS-260 last year July using USA embassy in Ghana as my place for the interview and up till now no date for the interview. I inquired about my DS-260 application and response from KCC was that my case is current for interview. What should I do now because time is going.
April 26, 2024 at 14:31
Unfortunately Accra embassy are scheduling very few interviews. What is your case number?
