The new VB has been released and as I have been explaining the progression is small. Hopefully you have understood my explanations in recent videos to understand why. For those that need further explanation, I did address the VB movement in my Live Q&A yesterday which I will link below.
Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches, but we seem to be moving to a more normal procedure where almost all the 2NLs are sent before the end of the month, with just a handful being sent earlier this month. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.

Hi Britt,
Please my case number is AF28XXX but I have still not received my interview email. My schedule interview place is Ghana, do I still have a chance.
June 11, 2024 at 09:55
DV2024??
Accra embassy is very backlogged because the embassy has not made enough interview slots available. Because of that you will not get an interview in Ghana. I have been telling people for months to move their cases out of Ghana.
March 11, 2024 at 15:39
Hi Brit,
My case number is 2024AF1153*, I have not been scheduled for an interview or haven not yet received any email for my 2NL. Do you think there’s a chance of me getting an interview? The embassy processing my case is in Kinshasa.
March 12, 2024 at 01:08
You should get a 2NL soon. Be patient.
March 11, 2024 at 09:30
Hey Brit,
My case is AF8488* is there a chance for the case number? I am a Liberian.
March 12, 2024 at 00:45
I think that number is very risky at this point.
March 4, 2024 at 17:09
Good day Mr. Simon. I’m not a DV winner but I have been invited by a church for an international 1st Annual Church conference in New Jersey.
My question here is: I don’t have strong ties (assets) here at home, will I be asked for strong ties at the embassy as I’m going for church conference in the state’s responsible by the body???
Thanks in advance 🙏🙏
March 5, 2024 at 09:43
Probably.

Is there a chance for Europe to go current later in July or August? Given the large CNs and the rate on the VB so far, I guess it’s really difficult. Nevertheless I’d like to know your opinion. My CN is EU52xxx. Thanks!
February 23, 2024 at 09:14
There is no reason to believe EU will go current. There are far too many selected.
February 21, 2024 at 23:52
Thank you sir.
February 21, 2024 at 11:18
Hi Britsimon, the Ceac data published by Xiathisius has a space you can only enter the first three letters of your embassy and see the first 10, 50 or 100 cases in the ready, issued all types of refusals, the number of people in a case and status last update.
1) I wish to know what the update means if it’s not interview conducted especially that a status reads update February 13 but remains ready and has not not to either issued, refused or AP.
CN AF56k.
February 21, 2024 at 17:25
The status update is changed if the embassy touches the case for any reason. For instance, if you are scheduled, but email the embassy to ask a question, the status will be updated.
February 21, 2024 at 03:43
Hello BritSimon,
My case# is AF16XXX but still no 2NL for CP in Congo-Kinshasa. Does Kinshasa has a huge backlog and do you think I have a chance for an interview?
Thanks much
February 21, 2024 at 10:48
You should have a chance.
February 20, 2024 at 18:13
Hi Brit, MY CN is AF25K. I intend furthering my studies next month in CA. Can I have a transfer of interview to CA-montreal by sending a request to KCC or my embassy since I wouldn’t be able to do that on the DS form?
February 20, 2024 at 20:29
KCC might refuse to let you update your case if you are already in AV status. What embassy are you currently at?
February 19, 2024 at 23:39
Hello BritSimon,
Hope you are well
A quick one,
1. Is the country of departure the same as country of origin.
Like people from Uganda have to do their DV interview in Nairobi Kenya.
2. While booking for Medical exam, Do I put Uganda as country of departure or Kenya?
These kinda look to be the same question, but please clarify.
Thankyou.
February 20, 2024 at 17:47
1. You didn’t provide the context – so I am not sure to what you are referring.
2. Ahh – this helps with context – but I am not certain what the form expects. Just pick one. It can’t be critical.
February 16, 2024 at 12:38
Hello Mr.BritSimon. hope this finds you well.
You might have addressed this earlier but I don’t seem to locate it.
Which link do I register for the interview appointment. What I mean is after receiving 2 nl, I read somewhere that one has to register the interview appointment with the respective Embassy.
My embassy Is Nairobi.
February 16, 2024 at 17:19
Each embassy uses a different link, so you simply follow their instructions.
February 16, 2024 at 17:43
Thank you so much.
May God Bless you 🙏
February 14, 2024 at 16:36
Hello Mr. Simon,
I have recently asked KCC to open my DS260 and I made some corrections.
Now when I contact them from my primary email address I do not get the automated response “Auto Reply – Please Do Not Respond”, is this normal?
Thanks in advance.
February 15, 2024 at 09:48
I am a DV winner from Ghana my CN 2024AF33xxx is there any hope for me getting 2NL
Please 🙏
February 16, 2024 at 07:16
Based on current performance of Accra, it is likely that your number would not get a chance.
February 23, 2024 at 09:38
Thank you very much for the reply and please want ask if! would it be better transfer my CEAC to a different country?
February 23, 2024 at 12:50
That would have been better, yes, and I have been saying this in videos and articles for weeks. Unfortunately you left it too late, and now you are locked in to Accra, and probably cannot move.
February 24, 2024 at 02:20
Thanks so much for the advice, please am a DV winner from Ghana, i changed my address to a different country about a month, my CN is AF33xxx when can i transfer my Ceac and am I writing to KCC or my embassy for the change please?
February 24, 2024 at 08:38
OK – just email them to confirm they are scheduling you in the new country.
February 15, 2024 at 20:15
It’s fine. Nothing to worry about.
February 22, 2024 at 10:16
Can KCC indeed filter my case number/email within their messages?
Because it has been a long time and I see others getting responses in a maximum of 24 hours “within business days”.
If that was the case, what should I do?
I’m starting to worry despite trying not to.
Thanks.
February 22, 2024 at 15:56
If they take longer than a couple of business days, you should try again, but be certain to provide the correct identifying information.
February 14, 2024 at 10:59
Avec un CN 2024AF001228XX, DS-60 soumis le 30 juin 2023 j’aimerais savoir à quel pourrais-je attendre la 2NL?
February 14, 2024 at 13:59
Your number is probably too high to ever get a 2NL
February 10, 2024 at 15:17
why do you think so many OC have been refused so far in 2024? Bizarre that there have been 50 refusals, meanwhile SA has more than double selectees and visas issued but less refusals (41)
February 10, 2024 at 18:38
It’s only 20 refused cases. That’s not much.
February 15, 2024 at 04:20
Oh I didn’t realise it was only 20. In the refused section for OC says “50 (20)” on Xarthisius – what is the 50 figure then, if the 20 is the number of OC cases refused a visa?
February 15, 2024 at 20:44
50 people on 20 cases.
February 10, 2024 at 11:45
I opened and made some changes to my DS260 on Jan 29, 2024. I made changes to my school info (I added a high school I attended for two years in a different country than my birth, I had left this out initially) and updated my employment to the most recent. My CN is 2024SA23XX. I am now current in this visa bulletin. Will those changes delay my 2NL for an April interview?
February 10, 2024 at 18:41
Well it depends on when that was done, and whether the additional country caused a need for additional background checks. Wait and see.
February 10, 2024 at 11:42
Is there any hope for AF7252*
February 11, 2024 at 18:11
I am a winner from Egypt my cn 2024AF72XXX how can I transfer my case to Malaysia or india. shall i reopen my ds260 and change the address to there or how the process went.
Thanks

February 10, 2024 at 11:28
It seems that there is no hope for Asia. Only a 200 increase over last month and there are only five visa bulletins left
There is no way it will reach 21000 like last year.
February 14, 2024 at 20:40
Hello! It seems like Asia move slow… I checked for previous videos according to Asia issue, under that video saying the safe cutoff may be around 17000. If I got number around 109xx. Would it be possible to have a chance to get it this year…? Thank you very much!!
February 15, 2024 at 20:15
If I previously said the numbers will go to 17K, and you are at 11k – do you really think you need to ask me if you will have a chance?? Come on.
February 10, 2024 at 07:50
I expected more progress for EU region. 22k 😁. Any thoughts for May or June ? I really don’t see how they will get to 32-35k in August or Sept with this progress.
February 10, 2024 at 08:53
We will see…
February 10, 2024 at 11:40
Same story, I was so damn sure that EU will jump straight into 22k in April… waiting is so tiring
February 10, 2024 at 23:28
Wait till July, this will be the decisive month
February 10, 2024 at 03:35
wow, really slow progress in EU region. I am a bit curious if it even touches 34k, but it might speed up and be 25k for May and later 35k for June?
February 10, 2024 at 08:48
We will see – but do watch my video that explains my thoughts for the year.
February 10, 2024 at 23:28
I might be wrong in the analysis I was doing these days, but I do believe they will cover more case numbers in the next month and, eventually, get to EU35-40k as Simon predicted. For example, my CN is EU3420*, according to CEAC data, there are 14502 cases (32322 people) before me. I checked the same data for DV-2023 and DV-2022, I found case numbers with the same amount of cases and people before them and both of those case numbers went current back then, visas were issued from July to September 2022 and 2023. Due to the bigger hole distribution in Europe this year and more case numbers in total, I guess Europe will get maximum to 38-40k, not because I want it to do, but they need that much cases to issue needed amount of visas similar to 2022, 2023. Correct me if I am wrong.
February 11, 2024 at 02:02
might happen. let’s hope
February 9, 2024 at 20:05
Brits, my case is AF545XX, with this trend is the any chance of me bcoming current and having an interview. My embasy is DRS, submitted ds260 since August 2023
February 10, 2024 at 08:39
I have covered my expectations for AF as a whole, so watch that video and then be patient. There are FIVE more VBs for DV2024.
February 9, 2024 at 18:31
Hi Simon, hope you’re well. Can you kindly comment and advise regarding the performance of the Lusaka embassy. There hasn’t been any activity with regards to 2NL’s since January. Those who became current since December till to date haven’t yet received their visa interview appointments. Should we get worried? By the way my case number is in the AF 22K range.
February 10, 2024 at 08:37
Common sense would tell you it is a very small embassy so there are very few cases scheduled there. Cases won’t get their 2NLs until they are both current AND the dS260s are processed.
February 9, 2024 at 18:05
Well,safe flight Brit.
February 9, 2024 at 16:42
I wish Morocco was actually 35000 and not 27000
