The visa bulletin has just been released, showing fairly small movement in each region. As I have already explained many of the interview slots are being taken by cases already current – and we have some high performing embassies that probably won’t be able to reach even the case numbers that just became current.
Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches, but we seem to be moving to a more normal procedure where almost all the 2NLs are sent before the end of the month, with just a handful being sent earlier this month. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.

Dear Britsimon I am the DV 2024 applicant and still waiting for the back lock and the 2024 visa bulletin is going to be over on September how is my DV visa process ? from Adiss Ababa Ethiopia

It depends on your case number. If your number is less than 28K you have a chance.

Hello Mr. Brit,
1) is it normal that Beirut Embassy has only 1 case issued till now as per xarthisius site ?
2) What does it mean to have NVC next to my case number in the ceac data in the xarthisius site. Is it that KCC still didn’t process my DS260 ?
Thank you 😉
April 15, 2024 at 12:47
1. No. It is an obvious sign of a dysfunctional embassy.
2. It means you are not scheduled yet. It does not indicate whether or not your DS260 is processed.
May 11, 2024 at 04:10
Hello Brit, I became current based on latest July numbers, What do you my best options are considering the embassy slow processing ?
May 11, 2024 at 09:14
Any options you had went away when you became current. Before then you should have moved to another country (by unlocking the DS260 and changing the address), but now you have left that too late. All you can do now is hope they will schedule you.

I am based in Jordan, but Asia is moving very slowly and it will never hit my case number before the end of the fiscal year. My question is: Can I move my case to Europe for example and have the interview over there through a visit visa?
April 8, 2024 at 10:02
It doesn’t matter where in the world you are, your case will only become current according to the Asia VB number.
