The visa bulletin has just been released, showing fairly small movement in each region. As I have already explained many of the interview slots are being taken by cases already current – and we have some high performing embassies that probably won’t be able to reach even the case numbers that just became current.
Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches, but we seem to be moving to a more normal procedure where almost all the 2NLs are sent before the end of the month, with just a handful being sent earlier this month. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.
March 8, 2024 at 10:29
Hi Brit, do you still believe that EU cutoff number will be around 35k?
Best regards
March 8, 2024 at 10:37
I think I explained a range that started at 31k with 35K as my “expected” range. That is still my expectation, BUT since the latest VB leaves only 4 months, it is getting tight. They may be thinking about not using all the visas…
March 8, 2024 at 15:51
Hi Brit! How it can be? Can you please do any video explaining EU situation? My case EU297xx.
March 20, 2024 at 09:50
Hi! If my number becomes current but is high (36000EU) but my embassy is free, can they send me NL before someone who is 26000 but in a backlogged embassy?
March 20, 2024 at 11:54
Yes
March 8, 2024 at 10:37
Casablanca is pathetic
March 8, 2024 at 11:02
Hi Brit,
eu395xx, after this vb I see my hopes decreasing more and more, I hope I’m wrong but I’m disheartened.
Thanks for all
March 8, 2024 at 11:25
Yes, but if you have listened to what I have said, you have always known your number was at risk, and with only 4 months of scheduling left that is even more clear.
March 8, 2024 at 11:50
and this is why I thank you, thanks to your experience I have always remained with my feet on the ground without ever deluding myself
March 8, 2024 at 11:06
Do you see Asia reaching your projected number of 17000 with this type of movement in the visa bulletin?
I understand that the number 17000 is based on Asia receiving it’s full quota of visas.
But There are only 4 visa bulletins left and we’re at only 8000
March 8, 2024 at 11:26
Yes it looks pretty scary – we will have to wait and see.
March 8, 2024 at 11:10
Good day britsimon.
Now my Number is current.
What are the next steps before receiving the 2nl.
How do I book appointment?
When do I get schedule my medical appointment.
It’ll really be helpful if you can answer these..
March 8, 2024 at 11:27
You wait to receive your 2NL, then book your medical and gather paperwork.
March 8, 2024 at 13:24
Hello mr brit simon.is the any hope for case nimber Af66k getting interview in india??
March 8, 2024 at 18:33
Somewhat risky.
March 8, 2024 at 12:01
Hey Simon, my CN is AF61k, specifically Morocco. How risky do you think is my CN giving the numbers we’re seeing from the Casablanca embassy ?
March 8, 2024 at 18:31
Pretty risky.
March 9, 2024 at 04:36
Hi sir! Let’s say you receive your time for an interview and you can’t make it then. Can you reschedule it for later? Like 5-6 weeks later?
Thanks a lot
March 9, 2024 at 15:12
This isn’t like a haircut appointment. This is a life changing event, what else is more important than that??
March 8, 2024 at 12:53
Hey Simon!
Do you still think EU21k is safe?
March 8, 2024 at 18:32
Of course.
March 8, 2024 at 12:57
Good day, britsimon.
Hope you are doing well.
Can we expect a huge increase in EU (+10k) in one of the next bulletins? For June, or July.
Thank you for your help.
March 8, 2024 at 18:32
I don’t know how they will play out the last 4 months.
March 8, 2024 at 13:12
eu24k?
March 8, 2024 at 13:42
Hi BritSimon.
The person whose mail address I used in ds-260, is the same person to receive me.
Question.
Is he supposed to send me any kind of document?
Thank you 🙏
March 8, 2024 at 18:34
No
March 8, 2024 at 13:49
Hello Brit
My number is current now but I have questions..
I see in WB Russia is 17750, my number is 17800 North Macedonia. Am I at risk, does that mean anything above 17750 is an interview for Russia
Thank you in advance
March 8, 2024 at 18:36
If you are charged to Russia, then you follow that number regardless of which embassy you are at.
March 8, 2024 at 14:42
Dear Britsimon
My case number AF55xxxx How is my chance? am I at risk. Thank you.
March 8, 2024 at 18:37
Depends on which embassy.
March 10, 2024 at 05:47
Good day! How could an early submission (in May) of the DS-260 form affect the process, given that invitations are issued according to case numbers anyway?
March 10, 2024 at 10:09
It doesn’t mean that cases can be scheduled before their number is current, if that is what you are asking.
March 12, 2024 at 16:27
DRS, Tanzania
March 12, 2024 at 17:23
They are somewhat backlogged already, but you have a chance.
March 25, 2024 at 14:58
Simon..
Addis embassy is working slowly,my case number is 33k,can I have chance to get 2nl..?
March 25, 2024 at 19:23
The answer really depends on how many cases Addis takes on a monthly basis. If they take less than 100 cases per month, then your chances of interview are low. If they take 150+ then you have a better chance.
March 8, 2024 at 15:03
Mr britts hope this finds you well.
For a case number of 70,1K from Morocco is there any solide chance to get an interview based on data we have so far. thank you
March 8, 2024 at 18:37
That’s looking very risky now.
March 8, 2024 at 15:34
Brits, AF 54XXX still confusing and not now whether I will be called and be current. With only 4 months ahead, I do not know…desperate
March 8, 2024 at 16:25
Hello Simon with my case shows current from long ago yet not received my 2NL
Case number 2024af108** please what do you think will be the problem and a Ghanaian and when ever I check it’s still in NVC please waiting for reply
March 8, 2024 at 18:39
Accra don’t seem to be taking any cases. That must change if you are to have any chance at all.
March 9, 2024 at 01:54
My case number is EU34*** (Russia). Do I still have a chance?
March 9, 2024 at 15:04
Risky.
March 9, 2024 at 02:01
I think they still may reach up to around 31.5k in EU. Under EU18k there is 9062 case numbers and it’s 2/3rd of the fiscal year so if they keep this pace and do another 4531 cases (in the remaining 1/3rd) then they should reach case number around 31255 (there is 13591 cases before that number).
Not sure if it’s a good way of thinking but hopefully 😅
March 9, 2024 at 15:06
Yeah maybe – I just discussed that this am.
https://youtube.com/live/x2NbDHVFU7k
March 10, 2024 at 04:17
Thank you Simon! I watched it and you pointed out and important fact that they are backloged which maybe makes my previous calculation wrong. However, I looked up data on Xarthisius website and on March 11th 2023 the total number of people (issued, ap, 221g, refused, ready, transit) was 37800 for all regions together, as per March 9th 2024 the number is 34147 people. It doesn’t seem like that big of a difference, is it? They still reached the cap of 55 000 issued visas in 2023 so maybe it’s not as bad as it seems in 2024
March 10, 2024 at 10:06
DV2023 had amazing 2NLs in the 2nd half. So – KCC can still reach 55, no problem, but we have to start seeing some pretty good months with at least 3500+ 2NLs per month. We would also need to see some pretty good VB increases to leverage the embassies that have the spare capacity.
March 9, 2024 at 02:27
Hi Simon….My best wishes to you. How do see now 3.2k in SA?
March 9, 2024 at 15:07
OK
March 9, 2024 at 04:42
Hey Simon!
Do you still think AS16300 safe?
March 9, 2024 at 15:12
We will have to wait and see.
March 9, 2024 at 05:20
May VB for EU is quite disappointing. It looks like that there are a lot of CN below 18000 to be interviewed and it might look like they don’t want to increase it too much because KCC wants so make sure that they squeezed all last juices from this batch of 18000 case numbers to make sure that the next huge jump in VB will be actually needed and justified (not like in 2023 when they did a huge increase in VB and kept in unchanged for the last three months).
Considering that there is no any issue or reason for them to make VB that slow, I use this method of predicting the possibility for my CN, that is EU34202. This method deals with the case numbers in the ascending order and doesn’t have anything to do with total number of selected cases.
So, there are 14502 cases (around 32322 people) before me in DV2024.
– In the year of 2023, case number EU26888 had 14502 cases (around 31480 people) before it and it got current. (cut off 32000)
– In the year of 2022, case number EU19403 had 14502 cases (around 30502 people) before it and it got current. (cut off ALL CURRENT)
– In the year of 2019, case number EU29599 had 14502 cases before it and it got current. (cut off ALL CURRENT)
– In the year of 2018, case number EU22245 had 14502 cases before it and it got current. (cut off 25775)
By using this methodology, we can estimate how many case numbers KCC needs to get (or not to get) to your case number. So, if there is no some abnormal event in current lottery, we might see huge increases in the last 2-3 months.
Let me know if I am wrong.
March 9, 2024 at 06:03
This is very good logic, if they are going to issue all of the 55k visas. I am 22k and a little bit scared after this VB.
March 9, 2024 at 06:16
I think they WILL issue 55000+ visas, there is no reason for them not to do that. You are lucky with the number of 22k, you will get current next month I suppose.
March 9, 2024 at 15:14
Until DV2022 the NORMAL ending was not to hit the global quota. It is only DV2022 and 2023 that make you believe 55K visas is “expected”.
March 11, 2024 at 06:34
Hi Brit, aside from 2022, and 2023, in 2018 and 2019 the total amount of visas issued was roughly 44k-48k, which pretty much makes DK’s predictions correct, am I right? (in regards to 34K case number). What I mean, even if they don’t target the 55K max this year, it should still reach at least 34K range for EU.
March 11, 2024 at 16:22
We can do all the math, and the math still matches with what I originally said. BUT we need to see them scheduling – and it really needs to be more than the small number they sent last month.
March 9, 2024 at 08:37
Hi I am eu20k and I am a bit scared too hah. Where is your interview supposed to be?
March 10, 2024 at 07:36
Skopje

Hello Simon,
With 4 VBs left, is there any chance or hope for CN AF85k from Sierra Leone ?
March 9, 2024 at 15:14
That number looks very risky right now.
March 11, 2024 at 12:30
In that case , is it wise for me and my wife to apply for B2 Tourist Visa and would my DV process impact on my B2 visa chances ?
March 12, 2024 at 01:03
The DS260 could make non immigrant visa applications a little harder.
I have no idea about why you might apply for a B2.
March 9, 2024 at 07:35
Do you think that in Latin America it will reach 3500?
March 9, 2024 at 15:14
I hope so.
March 9, 2024 at 17:50
Hi Brit
AS14xxx from Iran.My embassy is Montreal,canada.
Is my case number risky?
March 10, 2024 at 09:21
It’s probably OK, but there can never be “no risk”
March 9, 2024 at 19:04
Hi Britsimon,
As we all saw Asia region case number went up so slow. Do you know why ? Case number AS25000 can have any hope ???
March 10, 2024 at 09:55
AS25K is probably not going to become current. I explained the slow progress in a video yesterday.
March 9, 2024 at 20:41
Hi Brits!
I’ve case number 2024AF12*** with the DS 260 submitted on Augst 02. I’m eligible for Ethiopia and expecting interview at Adiss Ababa embassy. There is no 2NL yet. According to your video on AV queue and recent explanation I need to wait until 2NLs that would be sent that pass the 22000 case number which could be in June or then after. That is okay but if you carefully look at the first (less than 19000case numbers) and second (less than 6000 case numbers) batches of 2NLs there were no lower case number coming after large. Okay that may be because they were in the batch for 11000 cut off number. If you look at the latest schedule there were no lower case numbers than the second batch large case number in this late 2NLs. But now there are cases jumped while it can be said case were not jumped in the previous two 2NLs. Don’t you think there is possibility of reordering AV queue. Please do the video you have planned after 2NLs are sent at Adiss. Coming to my case, when should I have had submitted my DS 260, in order to have been scheduled by this time (April). Do I have a chance in June considering my Augst submission if not for May considering my embassy. Please do your video. thanks then for every effort you put every time to help us.
Regards
March 10, 2024 at 10:01
The AV queues are not reordered, no.
The day you submit your DS260 is not the important date. The day when your DS260 submission is completed is what is important. DS260s are opened in submission order but take different times to process.
March 10, 2024 at 00:32
Hi Brit my case number just became current AF51xxx please can you explain to me how to follow up my embassies performance??
March 10, 2024 at 10:02
You just wait for the 2NL. Once you receive that, read the instructions they give you, book your medical and gather documents.
March 10, 2024 at 04:35
Hi Brit!
Why in CEAC table data the rate people/cases is always higher in Ready than in Issued?
March 10, 2024 at 10:06
It isn’t always that way, obviously.
March 10, 2024 at 07:37
Hello Brit,
My Case # is AS117xx..
What are my chances, considering that I submitted DS260 in late October 2023.
March 10, 2024 at 10:10
It depends on when your DS260 is processed, your embassy and so on. The number itself should be OK.
March 10, 2024 at 10:39
Hello Brit
My case is Eu20xxx
What are my chances,i submitted DS260 in 25 may 2023?
Thank you!
March 10, 2024 at 11:26
Your number is OK. Your chances depend on your embassy.

Hi Sir!
Thanks so much for your support,
My CN is 2024AF34xxx Ghana
I changed my address on the DS 260 about two months ago to a different country and email KCC if i will be interved at my new location and this was the reply two days ago.
Your forms have been received and are currently processing. Allow several weeks for processing. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.
Any advice on this please and what next step to take thank you
March 10, 2024 at 11:25
I would suggest you let it a few weeks before trying again. Wait and see.
March 10, 2024 at 11:48

March 10, 2024 at 23:40
Hello, Sir, is EU23k safe?
March 11, 2024 at 16:20
If I had that number I would feel confident.
March 11, 2024 at 16:39
Hello Britsimon, is CN AF556xx safe at the Yaounde embassy?
March 12, 2024 at 01:09
The number should go current, and the embassy is doing pretty well so you have a chance.
March 12, 2024 at 02:17
hi Brit, thanks for all the work you do. Regarding the OC region, do you think the effectiveness of the Suva embassy could be of advantage to those who have risky case numbers, being that they are getting through cases so quickly the numbers current may increase to keep up? I’m in the riskier range OC20xx, what do you think my odds are considering the recent bulletins?
March 12, 2024 at 11:11
It’s actually the opposite. Suva working well means they will fill the quota more efficiently, and that will reduce the chances for high case numbers. Having said that your number is at the lowest end of the risky range, so you still have a good chance.
March 12, 2024 at 04:13
Hello Mr. Simon,
DV2024, I have an issue with my emails not reaching KCC “presumably” as I do not get an auto-reply when I email them and I never hear back from them (+1 month now).
I was able to finally contact them “once” over the phone as I was invited a while ago to something called “KCC Scheduling” to which they invite those who might have difficulties getting interviewed before the end of the fiscal year (I am a Sudanese national and I guess this is why I got this invitation), the only contact method they have is over the phone.
They told me that “my DV account was flagged by their security system for (suspicious activity) because I contacted them using an email address other than the one registered in my DS260 “because at that time I was fleeing Sudan and went through Eritrea, which censors almost everything on the internet and emails are blocked there, so I had to write the DS260 unlocking request email and send it to my wife via WhatsApp so she could email it to KCC on my behalf”, then shortly after I left Eritrea, I added my spouse to my DS260 and that made them a bit suspicious therefore flagging my account. The agent told me that after I clarified everything, she wrote notes to their security team to unflag my account (which still hasn’t happened yet).
What is this whole thing and what should I do to solve this?
Thank you very much.
March 12, 2024 at 11:13
I haven’t heard of such a process, so I have no input. Let me know what happens.
March 12, 2024 at 04:26
Hi Britsimon , My CN is AS 167** is Safe?.
March 12, 2024 at 11:13
I can’t say “safe”. We have to wait and see.
March 12, 2024 at 12:44
Hi Sir, I am unable to get through with my questions. What might be the problem
March 12, 2024 at 15:51
This question was held for my approval, meaning I could see it, but it wasn’t published yet until I approved it.
March 15, 2024 at 08:45
Hi Brit, I’ve been checking from
Xarthisius website and the last CN interviewed for ACC is AF2024AF4358. Could it be that ACC hasn’t received interview slots for a couple of months now? It’s strange how it’s remained that way for quite sometime now
March 15, 2024 at 08:58
Yes they did not take any 2NLs in January or February. However, they took some this week for May interviews. Not enough to fix the problem though, so it seems likely that most people in Ghana will lose their chance.
March 15, 2024 at 08:59
They took these case numbers this week.

March 15, 2024 at 11:46
Hello Mr. Simon, i wanted to know from your expertise looking the last numbers how possible is for my case nr EU265xx (Romania) to get till september, and in a positive scenario, since my nationality is different and im just resident in here, how long it may take to prepare the papers after receiving the 2NL (like whats the time given to prepare). Thnx in advance
March 15, 2024 at 17:14
It is possible.
You can gather documents before the 2NL arrives, especially police certs that may take additional time.
March 15, 2024 at 14:50
Is it possible to find out if DS 260 has been processed or not?
March 15, 2024 at 17:15
Yes, you can email KCC and ask the status.
March 18, 2024 at 09:51
Hi BritSimon
I have emailed KCC asking if my DS 260 has been processed or not and received reply as follows:
Qte
Thank you for your inquiry.
KCC has reviewed your request to change your interview location. Based on the circumstances of your case, KCC denies your request to be reassigned.
The place of application, i.e., location of interview, for noncitizens seeking an immigrant visa will normally be in the consular district with jurisdiction over their place of residence, with limited exceptions.
Unqte
I didn’t ask to change my interview location and frustrated by this answer. Shall I text back to KCC?
March 17, 2024 at 14:41
Hi Brit!
My case EU297xx, participating from Russia, interview in Zagreb (Croatia). I made DS-260 last update in October 2023. Since then I have changed jobs and visited about 10 more countries. I work as a database engineer for a Russian company (heard that it can cause an additional security check). I would like to hear your recommendation, should I request DS-260 form update before the expected interview date to avoid a possible administrative check. With my high case number some additional security check can ruin my chance of getting a visa.
March 17, 2024 at 18:19
You are not obligated to update your DSA260 for “trivial changes”. Additional travel would be considered trivial.
As you have correctly deduced, being in software, and from Russia can lead to additional scrutiny, which could delay your case after interview. Since your number is on the high side, your interview will probably be in August or September, so you will need to accept you are taking on additional risk of losing the fees if your case cannot be cleared in time.
Last thing, Moscow did implement pre-interview screening for Russians a few years ago which some embassies might choose to continue, so if you choose to unlock preemptively that would obviously be your choice.
March 18, 2024 at 07:38
Hi my case number is 2024AF45### embassy kenya so i Wany to Knowles how ill get the 2nl
March 18, 2024 at 09:43
Maybe in a month or two.
March 25, 2024 at 06:30
Hi Simon,
My case number is 2024AF31***. I had my appointment today 25.03.24 at 9:00 in Stockholm Sweden. I arrived in time with my family. We went through security only for the consular officer to tell me that she is sorry but I do not have an appointment and that there was a system error. She told me that they will reschedule me as soon as system issues are resolved. We travelled all the way from Norway. Have done the medical examination. I was not asked to pay the application fees. Can KCC make such a mistake? Is this a normal occurrence?
March 25, 2024 at 19:23
It is not normal of course.
Can such a mistake be made – well clearly yes, but it isn’t necessarily KCCs mistake.
March 28, 2024 at 19:02
Hello, Simon, number EU289xx it’s to risky number ? thanks
March 28, 2024 at 22:40
You have a chance.
March 29, 2024 at 06:54
Hello: My Case number is EU54XXX. What would be your thoughts on getting interview based on latest prediction?
March 29, 2024 at 10:20
Honestly, my guess is that you are very unlikely to become current. However, DV throws some surprises sometimes – so time will tell.
March 30, 2024 at 02:37
Thank you Simon for you hard work and the amount of effort you put in order to bring all the necessary information in front of us. I am from Nepal and my case number is AS12730,do you think I am at risk considering the recent slow VBs? Your response will be highly appreciated.
March 30, 2024 at 08:02

I was working as a foreign employer in UAE since last 2 years and recently on march 2024 I returned back to my home country Nepal. While coming back, I obtained police clearance certificate from Dubai police and it has a validity of 3 months. Will it cause any issue if the police certificate is expired at the time of my interview here at KDU and I have not returned back to UAE?Can you please provide insights on this?

That will still be valid as they are accepted up to 2 years old.

Initially I had chosen Abu Dhabi as my interview location and as I was returning back to my home country Nepal, I emailed KCC to change my interview location to kathmandu and they notified me about the change via email within 2 working days. Now, do I need to unlock my DS-260 in order to update my present address as there is address of UAE in my DS-260?

If you are not current, yes – I would.

“Thank you for all this valuable information! I have a case number of 80k in Algeria. What can you tell me about Algeria’s situation in terms of visa allocations this year?”

Even though Algeria has done well to keep up with the visa bulletin, your number is in a risky range. Not impossible, just risky. All you can do is hope.

Hi Simon!
Going by the assumption that they won’t hit the full visa quota, what’s the lowest number of visas that they’ve historically given out/your assumption on how many they’d give out on a “low end”.
On my general look, even if we don’t hit the quota Id assume the number to be like 45000 visas still of which we’d need around 60000 cases scheduled? Which would mean we’d need around 5-6k cases scheduled per month for the next 4 months. Logically thinking about it if June does not have a big increase then it does seem suspect that they actually might just not ramp it up at all

45k would be a VERY low number – so taking that as a starting point that would mean 55k – 60k schedule people.
But that isn’t 5-6k cases per month, it’s people (including derivatives). So that would be achievable with about 2.5k scheduled cases per month – which is the pace they have used in February and March scheduling.
However, I remain hopeful that they will increase the pace, and also use the spare capacity from some of the embassies that are keeping up with the visa bulletin. That is why I expect/hope to see a decent increase in the VB in the next couple of months. We’ll see.

Hello Brit hope you’re doing pretty good
My case number is 68k Africa region in Cameroon do I have a chance or no hope for me
April 6, 2024 at 08:48
You have a chance. You need Cameroon to take about 150 cases for each of the 4 remaining months of scheduling. That isn’t impossible.
