Hello sir. my case number 2019AS5*** from nepal. i have submitted my ds260 and received mail to send further documents. also i had submitted my documents and received the document complete mail already. But sir when i tried to login my case in ceac site with correct details. it still shows “the case number entered is currently unavailable. plese try again later or contact kcc.”. How to print Ds260 confirmation page if it is not logged in. please reply me sir. is this login problem with my case or others too? what to do please suggest me
March 23, 2019 at 09:39
I have this problem too ?
March 23, 2019 at 10:24
remve the leading zeroes of your case number . i mean you have four leading zeroes in your case number. remove that and you can login and print your ds260 . enter like 2019AS5***
March 23, 2019 at 14:17
If you are CERTAIN you are entering the correct information, then you may not be able to print the DS260 confirmation – but that is not important. Just print the 2NL.
March 25, 2019 at 10:27
When they take medical, the site need the confirmation number shows bar code.
You contact KCC

Hi Mr Brit.. Is it ok to use a different email address on the ds260 form other than the email used during the initial entry of the lottery???

Yes. Bliss Sir. It is ok to use if you have access to it.
March 23, 2019 at 14:17
Yes
March 23, 2019 at 13:03
Hi brit. My interview is on 26 march. All documents are sent and everything is ok. But on my high school degree i have a spelling error in my surname. Could this be a problem. my interview is in Albania.
March 23, 2019 at 14:23
I haven’t heard reports of denials on that basis from Albania.
March 23, 2019 at 17:26
Nope, don’t worry! I had the same problem at the US Post in Albania. One letter spelled wrong (“a” instead of an “e”) on my HS diploma and although I was prepared to clarify that issue – the CO never asked. Was approved the same day without AP. And good luck on your interview! 🙂
March 23, 2019 at 18:56
Thank you Ben

March 24, 2019 at 01:10
Hi Britsimon
I am Mohammed from Ghana.
I had my interview early this march
I was temporary refused, I was given a letter indicating temporary refusal awaiting administrative processing, will call me and the consular said two weeks but yet to receive the call. And on my status check it indicates refused a day after my interview.
My documents are with the consular,
The arrangement of my name on the school certificate is different from the arrangement on my birth certificate and passport.
Can you please explain things to me because the consular said good luck
March 24, 2019 at 04:25
Contact the embassy.

Hi Brit, My educational certificate includes my father’s surname and passport includes my surname after marriage. what am i supposed to do. will it be a prob in the interview?
March 25, 2019 at 04:50
No problem – you just have to show you are the same person.
March 24, 2019 at 18:15
What happens when someone is not willing to travel with you and you already married and we have a child who she’s not ready to let me get connected to.and I already sent our documents and the baby is not in my ds260 or hers..
What should I do because she is not will to give me any of my babys details.
Please advise
March 24, 2019 at 18:21
Sounds like you and your spouse are not on the same wavelength, and don’t have a real marriage. Married people agree on how they want to live, whether they want to emigrate and so on.
So – you can process on your own (thereby confirming your wife’s suspicions that you are not ready to be a father), or you can give up on the idea of moving to the USA.
If you decide to proceed with the DV process, it is ESSENTIAL that your DS260 lists your spouse and child.
March 24, 2019 at 20:41
Hello Brit.
Is a I-134 filled in two months prior the interview recent enough ?
Thank you.
March 24, 2019 at 22:03
That’s OK – there is no precise definition of recent.
March 24, 2019 at 21:20
Sorry for the separate message, i have another question.
I’d like to get all the vaccinations required before the medicals. Is there a list of requirements according age?
I read for example that hepatitis type B might not be required above 18 yrs old adults.
Thank you again.
March 24, 2019 at 22:04
No.
March 25, 2019 at 01:18
Hepatitis B is indeed only required up to 18 years old. See this link for details, including a table which vaccination is required for what age.

Hi Simon.CN EU20***I send my documents to kcc 05/03/2019 and receved documents ok 08/03/2019 .What do you think my interview will be in May or June?thanks
March 25, 2019 at 13:43
Why spoil the surprise?
March 25, 2019 at 14:50
Helo brit simon!
How long does it take to receive my social security Number? I have submitted the visa package after arriving to USA airport.
Do i have to apply for green card as i have already paid $330 during interview in my home country. If I have to apply then how to process tell me. Thankyou.
March 25, 2019 at 14:58
The SSN should arrive with 2 to 3 weeks (if you asked USCIS to apply for it in your DS260.
The GC will arrive in 2 to 4 months – nothing more to do for that.
March 25, 2019 at 15:05
If it takes the GC 2 – 4 months to arrive, then i suppose you must wait for it then in your homeland, and not yet move to the states, correct?
March 25, 2019 at 15:53
No!
Nothing will start until you enter the USA.
March 25, 2019 at 15:52
By the way – you must also pay the $220 fee as well as the fee of $330 you paid at the interview.
March 25, 2019 at 15:58

March 25, 2019 at 18:13
Hi Brit
I just want to tell you and everybody else here that most of applicants for May should check for affidavit of support new form, as it says from 05.06.2019(m,d,y – us date) will only accept new forms of affidavit of support.
And i wanted to ask, my number is EU19xxx, and it shows for may on visa bulletin, i sent documents back in january and they confirmed that my ds its ok,but still didnt received my 2NL.
Is anything that i should be worried about, or just wait until the end of this week ?
Thank you.
March 25, 2019 at 18:26
Yes I was aware of the update to the I-134, but as it is supposed to be prepared close to the interview, this should not be a problem for most people.
As for your case – yes – patience is key.
March 25, 2019 at 18:31
hi brit. what can i do if i the results of my medical exams can’t be ready before my interview dat
March 25, 2019 at 18:38
Attend the interview anyway – and provide the medical report as soon as possible after the interview. For most embassies that should be acceptable.
March 25, 2019 at 18:44
ok thank you for your answer
March 25, 2019 at 18:48
Hello Brit,
I have been in the usa for 4 months now.
I have received my ssn and green card.
What should I do about healthcare? Im in Massachusetts. Do I have to go somewhere to sign up for it or was I automaticly signed up for it?
Have I been without healthcare these 4 months? Do I have to pay a fee to irs at the end of the year for this?
Thank you

Hello Brit
I am a DV winner from Europe, Montenegro. I just found out your blog and I have some questions
1) The birth certificate that I just got, is in Serbian/Montenegrin language but it is also in Albanian, because I am Albanian born and raised in Montenegro. (All of my family members were born in Montenegro). My interview will be in Belgrade (Serbia), so if I send the document to KCC, will that be a problem if my certifcate of birth contains Albanian?
2) Should I write the country in the subject of the email, or just the case number?
3) I never served military neither have criminal records. I have the police certificate and birth certificate. Is that okay to send?
All the best
March 25, 2019 at 19:57
1. You will have documents translated.
2. Case number.
3. Yes.
None of these questions would have been needed if you had read the instructions. Please read the instructions.
March 25, 2019 at 19:37
Dear Sir,
My interview in April, the embassy sent check list with requirements, they did not asked for a I-134 and any financial support, however I am about preparing bank support letter with statement to take at my interview date, do you think this will be OK?
March 25, 2019 at 19:58
Maybe. It varies by embassy.
March 25, 2019 at 20:04
Can the documents be photographed by mobile phone and then sent to kcc or we need to scan and send them?
March 25, 2019 at 20:07
Either – but they must be legible.
March 26, 2019 at 00:04
Hello Mr Simon,
Will refugees have any problem at the interview? I’m a refugee, but My country is not on the travel ban list
March 26, 2019 at 02:47
No.
March 26, 2019 at 09:28
OK I had read your FAQ on that; you had 5 years for the mother, 2 years if it is you want to send your spouse or partner. I’d like you to send the link.
Thank you
March 26, 2019 at 13:52
So what is the question?
March 26, 2019 at 15:01
I’m looking for the page where you talked about the types of visa and you also talked to the one who wants to help his spouse is 2 years and if it is the mother that he want to help he needs 5 years. It’s this page that I want because I find it not

I have been in United States for 10 years and I’m pending Asylee ! I want to do my interview in a third party country ! I don’t have police certificate from my country and its impossible to obtain ! What can I do in this situation ?
March 26, 2019 at 13:54
Your safest option is adjustment of status in the USA (no police cert needed).
March 26, 2019 at 11:14
Can i have more than one Form I-134, Affidavit of Support? let`s say i have two people that wish to Support me? Can then bring two forms to the interview?
March 26, 2019 at 13:57
No. One form that meets the requirements.
March 26, 2019 at 11:48
Hi,
Anyone from AF received May emil?
March 26, 2019 at 12:10
Hello Simon, my case in on AP because of AOS. So I received the AOS and accompanying documents yesterday. However, the expiry date of the AOS is 11/30/2018. Do you think it will be accepted?
March 26, 2019 at 13:58
Yes
March 26, 2019 at 12:20
hello brit,
I was wondering of which state i will be considered resident of? and can i choose a different state than mentioned on my ds-260(Chicago) because there is not many good universities and fee is too high.So being a resident of other state would help me a lot in getting in better universities and my fees, so is it possible to change my residency state?
March 26, 2019 at 12:21
Also another question, Will it help me to show my bank statement along with sponsor papers?
March 26, 2019 at 13:59
Possibly.
March 26, 2019 at 13:59
You have to prove residency of a state by showing evidence such as a lease, utility bills and so on.
March 26, 2019 at 12:53
Hi sir, I have a medical by end of April as mid may got the interview, my question is about drugs like weed and hash, are they tested, is there any urine or blood analysis for it, or even questions about it, how to answer, or what if positive result?
March 26, 2019 at 14:22
You answer by telling the truth. Habitual drug use can be considered a public charge concern.
March 26, 2019 at 13:14
I don’t know why my question doesn’t show on question list? Can you tell me whether you get my questions or not plz?
March 26, 2019 at 14:24
If you had read the FAQ you would know that questions sometimes need my approval before appearing.
March 26, 2019 at 14:29
Hello Brit
I am confused about one thing, in the email from KCC it states police certificate, I have already taken (before 2 days) a certificate from the Ministry of Justice, is that the right place to get this certificate, because it states, ” It is stated that this person is free of charge, and has not committed any fault” or do I need to take it from the Police Department?
March 26, 2019 at 14:35
Instructions are specific to each country – and fully detailed in the reciprocity pages linked from the instructions. So – read the instructions.
March 26, 2019 at 14:45
Hi Sir,
I am watching your website from long time in the past and found very useful information. Thank you for being here and helping us, Dear Simon.
I have the following question and I would be happy if you can please help me with.I am from Nepal. I won the DV lottery around 6.5 years ago and got the GC. I entered the US with the passion to work and live here permanently and become a US citizen and contribute to this country. In the United States I am here for 5.5 years now. The problem is that my family in Nepal suffers from illness: my mother and father died and my two sisters left alone without any help from anyone. So, unfortunately I plan to go back to my country(I am bot sure if this is permanently).
My question is: In case I return back to Nepal and live permanently, will I lose my US citizenship forever?
Thank you dear sir for your help to us!
With best regards,
Sangita

March 28, 2019 at 15:08
Hi Sir,
Thank you for replying. I read the link you gave me, in the past. But my case isn’t different? I mean that the post of the link must be/apply for the first five years after enterimg the United States and before getting the US citizenship.
In my case, I passed the naturalization period and I am 5.5 years in the United States. If I hold the US citizenship, can you please help me and advise if there’s chance to lose it, after going to Nepal for the personal family problems that I said in first message?
I know that for the first 5 years after entering the United States, you should not leave a long period, but in my case I am here for 5.5 years.
I hope I was clear. Thank you for understanding me.
Sangita
March 28, 2019 at 17:21
For goodness sake – you have to be clear about what you are saying!
Are you a citizen at this time or not?
April 1, 2019 at 15:47
Yes Sir, I am citizen now. I am sorry for not saying it clear to you before.
I hope now you can help me with my question Sir.
Thank you for the help.
April 1, 2019 at 17:51
You cannot lose your citizenship – which is something you should have learned when you gained your citizenship.
March 26, 2019 at 16:24
i think u can helo them by visiting them.
March 26, 2019 at 14:56
Hi Brit, my sister just had her interview yesterday at Freetown embassy but the consulate said she found a different owner of her high school result in the system and she didn’t go with any Working experience document too
We are so worried that we don’t want to lose the chance.
March 26, 2019 at 15:58
So did she present the qualifications from someone else?
March 27, 2019 at 11:44
No she presented her own high school diploma, scores.
March 27, 2019 at 14:31
Hmmmm – something seems not right then huh.
March 26, 2019 at 15:56
can i fill my ds260 form without a passport? only id but i will bring it the day of interview. is that possible?
March 26, 2019 at 16:14
Yes. You choose other ID.
March 26, 2019 at 16:37
Hi Brit, thanks so much for this service, it goes a long way in guiding winners through this process. Please guide me on this. I interchanged in error the arrangement of my name i.e. First Name for Middle name. However, the names were entered correctly on the DS260. whereas I know this could be a COs decision to make, Kindly advise if this would be a serious ground for Visa denial or how best I could approach it during the Interview. Am AF and current for May. Thanks again.
March 26, 2019 at 21:54
The best approach is honesty. It should not normally be a problem UNLESS the CO suspects fraud.
March 26, 2019 at 17:40
hi brit. today i went to the interview and i got aproved. in the ceac site it says ap. when will it show issued. i mean after how much

March 26, 2019 at 18:58
Hi there-
Im yet to submit my DS-260 as i’m still debating whether or not to do AOS. Any idea how far in advance I need to submit my DS-260 to get an interview if I think ill go current in JUNE Im OC00096*
March 26, 2019 at 20:38
You need to stop procrastinating! The new procedure for documents (CP process) is creating some impact – so I would strong suggest not delaying DS260 submission much longer if that is the way you are going. You will ALREADY have caused delay to CP processing as you have not yet submitted. Similarly for AOS, as you will probably be current next VB, you could start your AOS process within about 2 to 3 weeks from now, but your DV process fee receipt should be included in the I-485 package, so again you have ALREADY caused a delay for AOS too.
Get on with your decision!
March 27, 2019 at 02:27
I know, I just have to take a work trip to mexico for a week tomorrow so was holding off before than as I know I cant travel after i submit the DS-260. I think due to leaving it late for this reason its best for me to do AOS….Ill have to deal with the danger of potentially having to leave the USA for work during that period if it comes up- just difficult as my job requires a lot of sudden OS trips hence the procrastination of not deciding which process to take yet.
March 27, 2019 at 13:58
if you know, why you ask bro?
March 26, 2019 at 19:33
Has anyone ever had to reschedule there DV Lottery interview and know if it is at all possible to push it a month or so or is that not allowed. Would be US embassy in Australia Im enqurring about.
March 26, 2019 at 20:32
Sydney (unlike most embassies) is pretty accommodating for rescheduling requests.
March 26, 2019 at 19:37
Hi Brit, i am in Cameroon and my interview is scheduled in a couple of days from now but i received an email from ais.usvisa-info.com asking me to register my appointment before attending the scheduled interview. I have gone through tha embassy website and your site but nothing about this registration is mentioned. Do i go ahead and register with my case number? Please help!
March 26, 2019 at 19:45
Hi Quarant, if ur interview is in cameroon then u need to register it. This procedure was implimented some weeks back. U can contact me by email. [email protected]
March 26, 2019 at 20:44
Do all children need to be on your origninal application even if they do not want a visa or live together with the applicant? If they are not on the forms how will the interviewers know they exist?
Regards
March 26, 2019 at 21:50
The rules are clear. If you leave children or a spouse off the original entry you will be disqualified.
I will not answer the second part of your question.
March 26, 2019 at 22:43
Hi,
I have my form i-134 filled out and signed by sponser,he emailed me the document along with w2 and f1040.
My Question is , is it compolsory to have the original document or the scaned copy would achive the purpose?
Im interviewing next week.
March 26, 2019 at 22:57
Scanned is OK
March 27, 2019 at 05:46
Hello Brit,
My DS-260 has been accepted OK and now I’m waiting for 2NL to come out.
I have a family of seven (7) people: myself, my wife and five daughters.
My eldest one had applied to a number of colleges/unis in the US and has just received a notification from one college that she has been granted a full one-year grant at a college in Kentucky.
The college is asking that she confirm her enrollment by May 1, 2019 and place a deposit and a one-time enrollment fee.
Now we’re not sure how to proceed here – if she enrolls (money aside) with the college, will that affect her DV Lottery status, and if yes, how exactly?
Basically, one possible way I see here: contact the college and ask that they postpone her enrollment (I guess, by one academic year) to allow her DS-260 process to take course.
Have you come across a situation like this in your practice, would you be in a positive to provide some advice here?
I would really greatly appreciate!
Also, thanks a lot for an excellent blog, what you’re doing is appreciated by thousands of people around the world, I’m sure.
March 27, 2019 at 05:52
I don’t think there is much you can do except postpone. It has no effect on the lottery, but she has no legal status to start studies. Having said that, a May start seems odd. Mostly it would be a August start. Check with the college.
March 27, 2019 at 08:03
Thanks Brit,
By May 1 deadline I meant “she was asked to confirm her enrollment (as in “by filling in a special form and placing a deposit”), not to start her studies. So, postpone it is then, it seems.
March 27, 2019 at 14:27
Speak to the college.
March 27, 2019 at 08:31
hello brit my friend with case number af 25*** fill his birth date with the first entry 1990 in Ethiopian Calendar and DS 260 1998 In G.C he didn’t received email from kcc to send documents Does it mean there is a problem with his case , what he can do
March 27, 2019 at 14:28
No. It simply means he has to wait.
March 27, 2019 at 09:28
Is it true that I am a winners of the U.S. Green Card;March 22, 2019, Case Number: WAC201934XXX
March 27, 2019 at 14:30
Probably not – that number you gave (I edited) is nothing like a real case number.
