My sponsor is self-employed. Can he get a W2?
July 18, 2017 at 20:21
Only if he has a job. But the 1040 is a tax report that everyone completes.

hi simon i have question to ask the thing is 1- in my ds 260 form at highest level of education i filled high school diploma but i have studied in college for 3 years with advanced diploma in computer technology do you think i filled it correctly high school diploma or i should have filled university no degree because in the options there are high school diploma , high school no diploma university no degree, university degree and other.what is your advise and i have already submitted the form.
2- at the primary occupation and present employer currently iam in Eritrea with the government serving with the ministry of defence as national service and it doesn’t have any official paper to recommend and no limited time of service so do you think i have to present any paper for that matter
thanks for your help.
July 18, 2017 at 12:45
1. Uni no degree – If you have not included that as an education institution, you should unlock and correct.
2. Probably – although I am unaware of the specifics for Eritrea.

Hello,Simon. My girlfriend won greencard. and We are planning to marry on August. Nowadays she has to send form . But We dont know how to show my girlfriend’s maritual status for not being problem in the future for getting entry. Pls , give some advice.
July 18, 2017 at 13:37
If you are talking about the DS260 – I would recommend you marry first and then send it.
July 18, 2017 at 19:41
Thanks for your reply. Excuse me in that case can we have DS260 deadline problem?
July 18, 2017 at 20:20
No – the marriage is in August 2017 – right? People will be submitting DS260s for DV2018 well into 2018.
July 18, 2017 at 21:13
Hello, Brit thanks for the great helps to all in needs,
My spouse has won for green card lottery and we have got the VISA from our embassy and we have got a reason that is pushing us that I am obliged to get in the USA before my spouse and his is the one to win a green card lottery is there any problem? he will come within 1-2 months after me! Let me know what your idea. THANK YOU BE BLESSED!
July 18, 2017 at 21:30
The derivative cannot enter prior to the principal selectee. The principal selectee must enter with OR before the derivatives.
July 18, 2017 at 22:13
Hey Brit, regarding this “The derivative cannot enter prior to the principal selectee” I know one family won and the spouse and kids went before principal and they told me that their asked anything as long as everyone has his do not open envelop and visa in his passport so I am confused about that. If any more clarification I will be grateful. thanks again.
July 18, 2017 at 23:41
Well you can chose to believe me or the story you know. It’s up to you.
July 18, 2017 at 13:09
Hi Britsimon. I have my DV Lottery interview on Monday in Frankfurt, which I’m looking forward to. I have all the required documents and everything is in order, however I’m a little worried about when they ask to see my bank balance to show that I can support myself. I have a full time job in Berlin, with regular payments to my account, but the total savings I have accumulated is under 10k €, I’m closer to the 6 mark. How important is this/
July 18, 2017 at 13:37
It can be important – and Frankfurt are likely to ask about financials. You have left it very late to start thinking about this – but if I were you I would document some additional details about how you intend to support yourself (for instance, selling assets such as cars in Germany and so on).
July 18, 2017 at 14:22
Why do you say that about Frankfurt? Are they known to request financial proof? I am from New Zealand, living and working in Germany right now, so not actually a German myself. My interview was set for Auckland, NZ, but I had it relocated due to the extensive cost and time away from work it would incur if I had to travel home to complete the appointment. Would being a NZer change anything? I do have 2 letters of interest from potential employers in the US as well as a contract which I am working under in Berlin which allows me to work remotely from anywhere in the world.
July 18, 2017 at 14:25
I’m also only 26 years old, so having financial backing of 10k+ USD is hard for most 20 year olds
July 18, 2017 at 20:18
This is exactly the sort of thing you should NOT say in the interview. Because the obvious response to that is to assume you can’t support yourself when moving to the USA. Better to emphasize the assets you have, the professional contacts you already have in the USA (presumably in a sought after field like IT) and your track record of being able to relocate to another country.
July 18, 2017 at 20:15
My comment was based on experiences of others and the German “respect” for observing the rules. Auckland would also have asked (again, based on experienced of others). This is specifically mentioned in the lottery instructions so it really should not be a surprise.
You need to prepare as I had advised – and don’t try to argue this in the interview. They won’t appreciate the argument and you will mess up – just as you did above when one moment you mention relocating the interview due to time away from work and then saying you can work remotely from anywhere in the world.
Prepare as well as you can, and if they insist on an I-134 (which is not a certainty) they will put you on AP (pending status) until you provide that document.

July 19, 2017 at 06:25
Dear Marino Coates,
Would you please shared your experience with us? I will also have interview at Frankfurt. I am DV2018.
I would really appreciate if you could.
Best regards
Rob
July 18, 2017 at 13:28
hello brit sir,i had a medical today(x-ray and all other test) but doctor postponed mine vaccination , if i get visa then it will expire 6 months from today or the day i got vaccinated?
July 18, 2017 at 13:39
I don’t know the circumstances – so I don’t know.
July 18, 2017 at 14:14
Hi brit
I applied for usa visit visa before 18 years but the visa didnot issued and the passport return back i think because i could not provide enough proof on our country
after two weeks applied again and i got the visa because i provide more documents and our status on the country where we are living
Do u think the visa rejection effect on our Case
Should i state this visa rejection as its very old
July 18, 2017 at 20:06
It should have no affect on a DV case. List the rejection – let THEM decide whether the case is too old or not.
July 18, 2017 at 15:00
I won the lottery FY-2016, but I didn’t proceed after knowing I won. Could I renter the lottery and win again? Thanks
July 18, 2017 at 19:50
Yes.
July 18, 2017 at 15:15
Hi BritSimon.
We thank God for enabling you to assist us.
We had TB sputum test on. Having lacked a clear guidance from Embassy on rescheduling we decided to appear on the scheduled appointment date but before the sputum results were out. The embassy told us (family) they couldn’t interview us even on our request to be put on AP pending medical results. The results turned out good two months ago and up to now we are waiting for a reschedule. It’s frustrating. We can’t plan anything. I am scheduled for a UK scholarship as from first week of September 2017. If they reschedule to a date after first week of September do you think I need to do?
from Nairobi.
July 18, 2017 at 15:25
what do you suggest we do?
July 18, 2017 at 19:48
You have to contact the embassy and make an appointment for an interview.
July 18, 2017 at 15:32
Hello BritSimon,
My friend got selected for dv2018 and submit dv260 application. And the case number is 2018AS8***. So according to posts it is a high number as i think.
I want to
01.what is mean by CURRENT in visa bulletin 2017.All regions in visa bulletin have CURRENT in every month June , July and August.
02.Can i know how this CURRENT in ASIA region affect this case number?
Because every day we check e-mails for the visa interview. Please be kind to answer my questions.
Thank You!
July 18, 2017 at 19:46
1. Current means there are enough visas for all remaining demand. However, that bulletin is about DV2017, NOT DV2018.
2. That bulletin has NOTHING to do with his case. Your friend won’t see anything in his email until early summer 2018.
July 19, 2017 at 03:27
Thank you so much BritSimon for your answer.
01.So is it mean that we have to wait until 2018 to receive visa interview?
02.Although the selectees are selected in May of 2017 we have to check visa bulletin from 2018 onwards?
July 19, 2017 at 04:23
1. Yes
2. Read the basic questions post about this.
July 19, 2017 at 04:30
Thank you!
But we already submit our dv260 application. Is it be a problem as i affects visa bulletin in 2018?
July 19, 2017 at 06:00
Thank you!
But we already submit our dv260 application within 3 weeks of announcing selectees.
01.Is it be a problem as i affects visa bulletin in 2018?
July 18, 2017 at 15:54
Simon, does questions like financial proof will be asked in Africa region, Ethiopia to make sure how much the Dv winner can support himself. My question is similar to my friend’s question in Frankfert, Germany above. I am confused about his question and your answer above.
July 18, 2017 at 19:44
The rule about avoiding becoming a public charge is standard immigration law. However, each embassy treats the requirement differently, often taking into account local economies and realities. In Germany for instance, asking a person to show they have saved $10,000 is not such a big ask as that would be in Ethiopia (Where $10,000 might be seen as a fortune). Likewise, in Ethiopia, relying on a “host” in the USA might be more socially acceptable whilst that would be unacceptable in Germany. So – my comments to someone interviewing in Germany don’t automatically apply to you in Ethiopia (but would if you were an Ethiopian interviewing in Germany).
So – in Ethiopia they might ask about finances, but they are more likely to ask you about who you will stay with (host).
July 20, 2017 at 00:59
Brit, is there a typical question for Argentina? Do you know how are the interviews there? Thanks in advance
July 18, 2017 at 16:38
Hello Simon,
We are thankful for sharing your valuable time and tremendous effort.
It sounds funny but I dont have my birth certificate made until now (it will be done, not a big deal). But I have my passport and citizenship certificate (which has all info regarding DOB, place of birth and parents detail) issued before EDV result.
So my question is that the date of issuance of birth certificate after the EDV result gona have any -ve impact in visa interview.
Thank you again.
July 18, 2017 at 19:37
I don’t know – it depends on procedures in your country. In my country, getting a passport without the birth cert would not have been possible.
July 18, 2017 at 16:55
Hi! I have a question regarding the timeline during which you have to move to the US after the interview. You’ve said that there are 6 months within which you can go to the US and have your passport stamped. After that, if I understand correctly, it would be possible to leave the US for under 12 months and still return without issues. So would it technically be possible to just travel to the US before the 6 months are up, get the passport stamped and then return permanently after 12 months, therefore a total of 18 months? My green card would meanwhile be forwarded to me from my friend receiving it at a US address.
July 18, 2017 at 19:36
Yes that is possible.
July 18, 2017 at 17:03
dear sir i took interview two month before with out the medical because my medical shows further investigation of sputum test but the CO approve my visa at that time and stayed until the result of the sputum and now the medical center confirm that the sputum has no problem
my question is
1: i send the medical slip one week before and the ceac information changed yesterday to READY status but when i open it today the status again changed to administrative process what is your advise
July 18, 2017 at 19:35
My advise is to relax, and wait a few days.
July 18, 2017 at 17:56
is it possible for different persons to have the same case number but different regions such as 2018AF00006941 and 2018AS00006941.
July 18, 2017 at 19:33
Yes, that is normal.
July 18, 2017 at 18:48
Dear,
I am green hard holder and I am living in usa from 2015,This June I back home on some routine medical control and I found out that I have medical problem,I had surgery and I need to stay out of USA 1year. what I have to do to keep my greed card valid?
thank you
best regards.
July 18, 2017 at 19:31
If you think the absence could be over 1 year, apply for a re-entry permit (I-131)
July 18, 2017 at 19:19
Hi Brits. Me again . I had my interview on the 13 of April and my case is pending AP. On the 28th of June (75 days after interview) , the embassy call us to ask about why we did change our name . We answered and the officer told us to send a copy of our passeports. After that the embassy send a letter saying that the instruction will reflect as per passeport. My question is :
Is that mean our AP is done ? I’m asking because after the interview the CO told us tha t everything is ok , they just have to check for the high school certificate. since thn, no more update on our case . By the way I’m from DRC residing in South Africa .
July 18, 2017 at 19:33
I can’t say that it means your AP is “done”. It is “done” when you see the visa in your hand.
July 18, 2017 at 21:45
Thank you!!! Yes you are right! I’m nervous and this is a test of patience!!! So, sit and wait
July 18, 2017 at 21:08
Hi Britt how are you? Reviewing the sheet of people who have recorded the times of their lottery DV processing, there are many who received the letter of the interview within a few days of having placed the fingerprints. Is there a way to check if the letter has been sent? I have been check it at uscis but just said about the fingerprints. I know just we have to sit and wait but just have 2 months and a half to finish the 2017 process. Thank you!
July 18, 2017 at 21:33
I would say the norm would not be within a few days of the biometrics as you describe.
I know you are nervous, but you should know that I have NEVER seen an AOS case timed out simply because the FO did not take action in time. So – it might feel like your case is in trouble, but really – it isn’t.
July 31, 2017 at 07:19
How do I retrieve my login information? I am using the same email where I get all new posts. But when trying to login, it doesn’t find my email address.
July 31, 2017 at 14:56
I don’t know.
July 18, 2017 at 21:29
hi brit
my wife and I will be going for interview, but my fear is we got marry after six 6 months while the result was out, because when I play the dv I lost my paper and when I found it I was told by a friend that I could add my wife to the program because i just got marry to her.
1. will the co accept our marriage?
2.Is our marry guarantee in six moths for DV interview? if not how many months in dv is guarantee for dv interview?
July 18, 2017 at 21:36
1. That is up to the CO. If you married after the lottery win, you should expect to be asked for proof that the relationship existed prior to the lottery win – so gather any evidence you can think of.
2. There is no minimum time for a marriage to be acceptable. Cases are assessed individually.
July 18, 2017 at 22:10
Hi Mr Brit am the principal applicant dv208 from west Africa Ghana to be specific which is highly consider as a fraud country. I proposed to my wife that was 2011 but she didn’t accepted my proposal as at then because she was to enroll in to senior high schoo, she told me if I really want to married her then I should wait when she finish her high school education then we can talk of relationship which will take her 3 years. I waited for her till 2015 and she finally accepted my proposal we started chatting one in one and I got married to her on December 2016 and our marriage certificate was giving to us on 13th june 2017 also my wife is using three names in all her legal documents but on our my marriage certificate her middle name did not appear which is her grandfather name. My wife is 6 months pregnant my question is as follows:
1. From my narrative above how will the co think about our relationship?
2.will the ommiss of her middle name on our marriage certificate raise as red flag to the co since she is a dreviative
3. Is it the best for me to wait till my wife give birth before filling the ds260 so that I can create a green card for them
4. Will court certificate about our marriage also needed since our marriage was done in Islamic way at the interview?
July 18, 2017 at 23:45
1. Like you said – it’s Ghana – so they tend to be suspicious. I don’t understand why your marriage cert is not from December 2016.
2. It won’t matter – just make sure it is correct on the DS260.
3. Probably easiest to do that, yes.
4. I imagine so, yes. If I were you I would perform the civil marriage now.
July 19, 2017 at 02:03
Hello Brit I am from nepal I mentioned student as other occupation in ds 260.I mentioned the name of my my institution as Amrit science campus in place of amrit campus as it known as amrit science campus in Nepal.first part is completed and second part is not going to be completed and in my markksheet of first part it is written as amrit campus only.should I unlock ds260 and correct it as I have submitted this as other occupation or it doesn’t create any risk?
July 19, 2017 at 04:24
No need to unlock.
July 19, 2017 at 02:00
Hello Simon, i have a question about the interview date, i havent received a date for the interview yet, and i have a number thats SA14** and i know someone who already went to the interview with a number of SA19**, what does this mean for me? The DS260 has been submitted since october of last year, what do you think might be happening here?
July 19, 2017 at 04:25
Check CEAC and contact KCC.
July 19, 2017 at 04:35
CEAC says AT NVC, should i just contact KCC?
July 19, 2017 at 04:36
Yes
July 19, 2017 at 03:50
Dear Mr Simon,
Thanks for your great help.
I am a 2018 selectee and expect to be selected on experience. Because although I studied for two years in Biology in GCE Advanced Level due to a family problem I couldn’t sit for the exam and even I couldn’t continue my high school education. Now I am working as a Senior Features Editor in a national news paper for around 3 and half years. (Editor for 3 years and promoted some months back to the new position. Before that I was a manager in a publishing company for around 7 years. I checked the Job Family and other relevant requirement & found to be OK. But I have read here that you have said that it is difficult to be selected on work experience. Do you think that my experience is enough to be selected.
July 19, 2017 at 04:21
If your job meets the requirements and you can prove that is your role, then you have a good chance.
July 19, 2017 at 04:38
Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes, Im a well known writer and journalist in the country. As proofs, I can forward experience letters from my previous and present employers. Dose it sound ok? Can I forward some paper cutting of my articles published in the news paper and books published by me (Authored & co-authred)? Thanks and regards
July 19, 2017 at 11:50
You can use that, and employment contracts, payslips and so on.
July 19, 2017 at 05:55
Hello BritSimon,
You have mentioned that 2018AS8XXX (Nepal could be considered safe below AS7000) as safe numbers in your article “DV2018 Selectee numbers published”.
01.If the case number is 2018AS81XX is it a safe number?
because for AS when selectee number 15997/2 is 7998 the case number is around 81XX.
July 19, 2017 at 11:49
01. Only if the case is not from Nepal.
July 19, 2017 at 12:45
Thank you for your reply. My country is Sri Lanka.
July 19, 2017 at 06:21
Hello Brit,
DV2018 Selectee here. Am the principal applicant and am applying with my wife and our baby boy. Is it ok if the savings we show are part on my bank account and the other part on my wife account? We made sure it’s around 25K $.
July 19, 2017 at 11:42
Yes that is OK.
July 19, 2017 at 07:30

Dear SImon ,
What do you think , how many DVL 2017 selectees case like mine ? Since 22.02.2017 under AP.
Dont know reason. It is normal ?:)
From Azerbaijan .
July 19, 2017 at 11:35
I don’t know the numbers – but it is not “unusual”.
July 19, 2017 at 11:52

what is oppinion about my chance or do you know ,based on your previous years experience, when such kinda processes are going to be solved ?
Thank you.
July 19, 2017 at 12:18
Elvin, as i am interested to know historical informations about dv lottary, in my opinion ur cn is safe and soon u will have an interview. Of course, depending when u filled the ds-260.
July 19, 2017 at 12:19
By the way, u mean year fiscal 2018?
July 19, 2017 at 12:25
no ,DVL 2107. I did my interview 22.02.2017. Despite Oficcer said approved ,I am under AP since that date. I am trying to learn reason for the providing additional document to accelerate process but they didnt let me know reason .
July 19, 2017 at 12:25
sorry DVL 2017 🙂
July 19, 2017 at 13:13
Well, im sorry Elvin. I dont know what to say about ur situation. Hope it will be resolved as soon as possible. Good Luck 🙂
July 19, 2017 at 13:20
AP is unpredictable. I don’t know why you are on AP and cannot predict when it will end.
July 19, 2017 at 12:09
Hii sir Brit.. We are 2018 dv winners. We have a child with down syndrome. Any place in ds 260 to mention? Is that a problem for visa issuance during the dv process?
Thank you.
Rajiv
July 19, 2017 at 13:18
No problem, no need to mention it.
July 19, 2017 at 12:26
HI Brit,
Is there someway or somewhere to check the status of my DS260 (if it is processed or in being processed or in the backlog)? thank you
July 19, 2017 at 13:20
No
July 19, 2017 at 13:23
please what AP stand for ?
July 19, 2017 at 13:30
Administrative processing.
Some cases require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the interview. The reasons for AP vary from missing documents to additional background checks.
July 19, 2017 at 13:47
hi Brits
God bles you for your sup[port
pls am a 2018 winner in Ghana with case number AF17xxx
submitted my DS-260 on 3/5/17
pls my questions are
1. during the filling of the DS-260 application, I made a mistake, instead of writing West African Senior School Certificate as the certificate from my second institution, I wrote West African Examinations council certificate. pls can this lead to my refusal of an interview appointment?
2. secondly pls considering my case number , AF17xxx in Ghana, can I be interviewed before December this year
3. the names in my passport ,DS-260 form and birth cert are the same but the arrangement does not correspond with that on all my certificates. thus positional interchanges.
pls can this pose a problem
July 19, 2017 at 14:01
1. Ghana embassy is very concerned about mistakes, but this one seems trivial and low risk.
2. I don’t know.
3. Yes – again – Ghana are concerned about these types of errors.
July 19, 2017 at 14:11
thank you very much
July 19, 2017 at 15:38
Hello britsimon
Good evening
My interview was on 6 July and during interview my high school certificate hadn’t came at that time from board of University, they gave time for 2 weeks and today submitted high school certificate.the Gap between primary School and secondary School is 18 year, will it problem or not? Today they asked me about gap year by phone …..
July 19, 2017 at 16:05
They may have concerns that the education was no a continuous, formal course of study. All you can do is wait for their decision.
July 19, 2017 at 17:17
Hi Mr Brit from your response to my questions
1. You said you don’t understand why my marriage certificate was not giving to me in December 2016, in Ghana when you get married in Islamic way we don’t do married certificates nor court certificate majority of Ghanaian muslems couples have no marriage nor court certificate but from your blog I realized that I need to have it to support our marriage at the interview since am playing the dv as a couple
2. You said if you were me you will have performed the civic marriage now please are you reffering to the court marriage or what you mean by that
July 19, 2017 at 17:25
1. OK
2. Whatever it takes to have an officially recognized marriage. That might be what you did in subsequently.
July 19, 2017 at 17:30
One further point. Ghana has the worst conversion rate (entries to issued visas), in the world. The reasons for that are many – but poor standards of official documentation, poor procedures in general and ease of obtaining fraudulent documents are some of the reasons. Ghana embassy routinely denies cases because people use a Ghanaian mindset. To have the best chance to obtain the best result – use a non Ghanaian mindset in terms of what is appropriate documentation.
July 19, 2017 at 19:15
Hello BrittSimon,
First of all thank you for your patience and responding to all of my questions. I got my Green Card already, and now I am waiting for it to be mailed to me. Do you know how long it approximately takes?
Also, does it has to be renewed?
Thank you,
Juan
July 19, 2017 at 21:25
They can arrive within a few weeks and as long as 3 or 4 months.
A GC is valid for 10 years and should be renewed – but the person can typically become a citizen before that date if they want.

Hi Simon
My brother has dv lottery 2017 interview in August from Nepal. The address in his ds 260 is California address but we moved to Texas recently. So during his interview we will be in Texas so his port of entry will be in Texas. In this case what do you suggest.
1.Does he have to unlock ds260 and change the Address or
2.He can inform during interview or
3.He can inform in port of entry (i.e. Texas)
July 19, 2017 at 20:24
1. No

3. Yes

hey sir my date of birth written on my USA sponsor letter is wrong i have appointment on 26 what to do ?
July 19, 2017 at 22:47
Just proceed with the interview – it probably won’t be a problem.
July 19, 2017 at 22:39
How long dose it take a dv winning family to follow after some members of the group have left to America already. Duration is what I means.
July 19, 2017 at 22:46
I think you will need to clarify what you mean. Everyone issued with a visa must enter before the visa expires, which is set as 6 months after the medical.
July 20, 2017 at 01:35
Hi Brits thanks very much for your time. i will definitely make up to you when by Gods grace i finally get to USA.
1. pls in the afternoon i asked you some questions but since i was at work i couldnt ask further questions so pls i will like to ask some few more
NAME ON ALL CERTIFICATES( 1,2,3) = AKOTO OSEI MICHAEL
Name on DS-260 = AKOTO, MICHAEL OSEI
Name on passport = AKOTO, MICHAEL OSEI
Name on birth certificate = MICHAEL OSEI AKOTO
LAST NAME = AKOTO
FIRST NAME = MICHAEL
MIDDLE = OSEI
am nervous bcos i have heard of people being denied bcos of identity issues
pls can this pose a problem?
2. Secondly i just want to know if the KCC can base on any mistake you make on the DS-260 application form to refuse to schedule you for an interview with your embassy?
specifically a mistake such as writing West african examinations council certificte instead of West African senior school certificate
3. i submitted my DS-260 very early, a day after the results were released, thus on the 3rd of may, 2017 .( 3/5/17), case numb. AF18xxx. ghana embassy
due to the early submission i anticipate being interviewed within october to december this year
can this be true?
July 20, 2017 at 02:45
1. Normally this would all be no problem.
2. As I already said that would not stop the interview. KCC will never deny a case. That is not their role.
3. Your early submission makes no difference. You will not be interviewed until your case number is current AND the DS260 is processed.

Hi Brit , when will Dv visa 017 final interview appointment begin for those residing in us
July 20, 2017 at 02:41
Adjustment of status cases are scheduled differently – but in all cases the interviews cannot continue past September 30 and no case can be approved after that date.
July 20, 2017 at 03:24

Hi,
My wife and I just received our passports and packages back from the Sydney consulate (yay!). On the immigrant data summary pages however, there are 2 things to question:
1) We have been living in the US for several years now, but decided to do CP at home rather than AOS, but the “city and country of last residence” is listed as Sydney, rather than our current US residence in Los Angeles – do you think this matters?
2) I already have an Alien Registration Number from my previous EADs (listed on my DS-260), but the package and passport list a new A-Number – does this matter now? Or in the future (say when applying for citizenship)?
Huge thanks for your site and time!
July 20, 2017 at 04:51
1. No
2. No

Hello BritSimon- concerning the Affidavit of Support, if my father can prove his capability to support me, do I still need to get an affidavit of support from relatives based in the U.S? As a follow-up question to that, will a bank statement from my father be sufficient documentation to prove I will not become a public charge, if not what else will be required?
July 20, 2017 at 13:41
If your father is not a US resident – that is no good. The only thing he could do is GIFT you a substantial amount of money to make sure you have at least $10,000 per adult. However, the I-134 is much better.

Hi mr brit
I’m one of 2017winners i had my interview 10January 2017 and im still Ap do you think I have chance to get visa two months left til september 2 be cuase i already passed my interview do think after 30 september i will receive my visa

July 20, 2017 at 14:47
I don’t have any way to know anything about your case.
July 20, 2017 at 15:46
Hi Simon I am Dv 2017 Winner . And I had an interview on 03July 2017. I pass the consular interview successfully and the consular gave me the Yellow module and say congratulation your visa application is approved . You will get You passport with Visa printed with in seven days . But stil now my visa is not coming to the DHL and not received any notification on my email . When I check it my Visa status on line it says Your case is Currently at Addis Abeba . What dose it mean when it says this
July 20, 2017 at 16:41
It sounds like you are on AP (Administrative Processing)
From my FAQ:
“Administrative Processing”
This is when someone did not have all the documents at the interview OR some additional checks are needed before the case can be adjudicated. AP can last a few days or several months. The status updates during that time are meaningless.
July 20, 2017 at 18:22
Dear Simon
I want to thank u 4ur response. But what I want to ask u again is that
1.if there is an incomplete document or suspicious thing why approve and gave me the Yellow module
2. If their is any document missed why don’t u ask me to bring the remaining doc. Or notify me by email from July 03 up to now around 17 days stay with out any information
3. How can I ask my case to the consular or the embassy ? By email or by telephone or going to the embassy phsically
4. If my Visa is not approved before Sep.30 can I lose my chance
July 20, 2017 at 19:18
1. I don’t know your case – so I don’t know.
2. If they want something, they will ask you.
3. Just be patient.
4. Yes, if the case is not approved by Sept 30 you cannot be approved after that date.
July 20, 2017 at 16:09
hi, Mr. Brit. me again
I have a question. If I get the Green Card and a month later I go back to my country to spend say 10 months, time to finish my business, is that I could lose my GC?
thank you for your regard !
July 20, 2017 at 16:34
No.
Check the FAQ.
July 20, 2017 at 16:48
thank you very much ! Mr. Brit
July 20, 2017 at 16:20
Hello, should I have my baby first before filling out the ds260 form,(precaution) or i just unlock and correct ,because u said interviews will begin from October and I’m AF23xxx.
July 20, 2017 at 16:33
Because of your case number, your interview will not happen until early 2018, so depending on the timing of the birth you could wait until the birth, or submit and add the baby later (but still well before the 2NL is sent).
July 20, 2017 at 16:34
Hi I would like to ask you two hypothetic question.
First What if I got nomber for example 15 000 and in december on gov page I will find they are on 14 500.
But I still didnt get a mail to intervie and we know you should get mail 5 – 6 weeks before interview
should I in this case call somewhere?
and
2nd question is very similar what if my num is 15 000 and I will check and current num would by 16 000
Can I do something about it I hope that will not happend but just in this case??
Thx very much for your answer
July 20, 2017 at 16:39
If 14500 was the VB number then your case at 15000 (i.e. ABOVE the VB number) would not be ready for interview – so it would not be a surprise that you were not scheduled. So – no one to call.
In the second example your number is BELOW the VB number, so you would expect to receive the 2NL.
Based on your questions you seem to not understand the process. Read this:
