HI Brit. I won last year and could not make it after the interview. Is there a chance for me to be selected if i play again this year?
October 6, 2019 at 15:45
It’s a random draw, so you have the same chance of selection as anyone else.
October 6, 2019 at 07:45
Dear Sir
I was DV winner in 2016, I went with my family to US and we took the Green Cards, and returned with my family to my country to join my work again,
After six months we went to US again and request for travel documents (reentry permit) (I-131), USCIS have approved our request for 2 years for all member of my family (expired 19/06/2018.
Before the expiry, I could not take my family with me to renew their reentry permit (I-131) and traveled alone to US and requested for renewal to my reentry permit (I-131) for more 2 years, USCIS have approved my request again till 19/06/2020.
My inquiry: now I want to go to move to US with my family:
– Shall I take them with me based on they have the green Card, if not?
Could you help me what I have to do to avoid any issue when we enter US borders?
October 6, 2019 at 15:47
You can either try an entry with the risk that they are referred to an immigration judge, OR apply for an SB-1 visa for each of them at your local embassy.

hi sir. i played the dv lottery for 2021 and was trying to submit my application but the system keeps showing server is not found. as i keep pressing the continue button, the system finally opens when it was above 30 minutes and my application submitted after 30 minutes. i don’t know if the my application will be disqualify ?
October 6, 2019 at 15:52
Try again in a few days. If you don’t see a confirmation code, your entry did not get registered.
October 6, 2019 at 08:21
Hello mr. Simon thank for showing us the DV entry, I would like to ask that: few months ago when I try to make the DV form at start I was ask for a code,, I call the American ambassy in Dublin for some details and they closed the phone on me,, please can answer my questions thanks million Danilo.
October 6, 2019 at 15:51
The entry process was not open a few months ago, so you were not using the officil site. You were probably being scammed.
October 6, 2019 at 08:22
Hi Mr. Simon
I completed the lottery form in 2019 with my family in 2019 if I agreed to receive emails.
October 6, 2019 at 15:52
Huh??
October 6, 2019 at 08:43
Hi Simon;
Just to clarify,
I’m single no kids and my sponsor is single and no kids so according to your video about public charge she has to make 16,460 US Dollars so I take the second column not the first column like you said?
And this is what she has to make per year?
Thanks for your time
October 6, 2019 at 15:58
Your sponsor should exceed the income stated for a family size of 2. But frankly those are extremely low numbers. Everyone should earn more than that!
October 7, 2019 at 06:05
She makes about 50.000 a year. Thats why I was confused maybe the amount was so low it would maybe be per month. So she will be able to do it?
October 8, 2019 at 03:23
OK – well you can read the article below and answer that yourself.

Hello Mr Simon.
My passport is currently expired and I have applied for a new one, but i did not get my new passport still. So will it be a problem if i enter for the dv lottery now
October 8, 2019 at 04:30
You must have an UNEXPIRED passport to enter.
October 6, 2019 at 08:51
Dear Simon!
I am a Swede, born and bred and I have a Swedish passport. This summer I removed one of my middle names. My passport is valid to 2021. Two days ago I successfully entered the DV lottery and was completely honest, just like you told me to.
First I entered my name as it is right now and when it came to the passport information, I entered the information that can be found there which of course included my former middle name as well.
Did I do the right thing?
I am thinking about renewing my passport in order to get an accurate one, but will that mess up my application since I entered the number of my current passport which in that case will be old and invalid? Do you think that it is better if I wait and how long should I wait or could I change the passport number in my application if I renew it?
Thank you in advance, Simon!
Kind regards
Henrik
October 6, 2019 at 15:59
Don’t overthink this Henrik. It’s a lottery. You chance of winning is low. If selected, you can think about all that!
October 6, 2019 at 16:44
Thank you very much for your reply, Simon! I am going to follow your advace and just take it slow. 🙂
Kind regards
Henrik

Hello Simon,
I read an article where the president has ordered all immigrants to have medical insurance cover effective 3rd November. What will you show as evidence for such insurance cover?

Hi Brit, I real that red eye from camera is not allowed. I had my photo professionally taken but I just noticed that a speck of my eye has a little white from the flash. Is that allowed? https://imgur.com/a/JqAzUXW
October 6, 2019 at 16:00
That is fine.
October 6, 2019 at 20:10
Thanks. Is it also not too far to the right? I measured with a ruler and my head is slightly more to the right.
October 7, 2019 at 03:38
Overthinking.
October 8, 2019 at 19:49
Sorry. I just don’t want to make a mistake. The photo is 600 x 600 in dimension by I just saw that my Mac says the resolution is 300 x 300. Is that allowed or should the it be upscaled (if that is allowed)?
October 9, 2019 at 03:39
No less than 600×600.
October 10, 2019 at 22:59
RE the dimensions. It is apparently 600 pixels not dimensions. I read the travel.state.gov. This is a reddit answer to what dimensions and what resolution means. Do you concur that the photo is ok then?
“Resolution is the number of pixels in a given measurement. Usually pixels per inch.
Dimensions are the total number pixels that make up the image. 600 pixels wide, 600 pixels tall.
So if you print that image at full resolution (300 pixels per inch), your image would be 2 inches by 2 inches”
https://www.reddit.com/r/applehelp/comments/dfmpe7/what_is_the_difference_between_the_resolution_and/
October 11, 2019 at 04:09
Still overthinking. Use the official photo tool. Done.

Hi Simon,
Great YouTube content and Blog.
Can my wife and I apply separately as principals and register the family as dependents to double up winning chances?
Warm Regards

October 6, 2019 at 13:58
Dear Simon
Just want to know that since i have already working for my current job for 11 years, so that is it correct to state my current details for both “primary occupation” & “were you previous employed” in ds260
Thanks
October 6, 2019 at 14:48
Shoud i state my current job for both
October 6, 2019 at 16:14
If limited to 10 years you don’t need any more than the one job. It’s just simple logic.
October 6, 2019 at 21:49

October 6, 2019 at 16:52
Hello! Thank you very much for the helpful information. I am currently working outside of my professional field, for my job I’m using a few years of business school I had prior to pursuing my Bachelors degree in another major. My question is, if I am eligible even though I’m not working on my field but I am working (almost 3 years now) in an important company in my country? I’d appreciate your feedback, thank you in advance.
October 6, 2019 at 18:43
The importance of your company is unimportant.
It sounds like you qualify on education grounds. Read the FAQ about that.
October 6, 2019 at 17:19
Hi Brit!
My mom has won a green card with DV2019, and she has already passed the interview and received her visa. However, the embassy rejected my Dad, reasoning that they do not have an official marriage certificate. In fact, they have two children (me and my sister), a lot of shared property and businesses.
Did you ever encounter such an issue? I mean ok, me and my sister we are adults (over 21) , but is it normal that they part my mom and dad? Do you think this is a a case that can be solved through a court? Or what they do is completely legal? What other means are there, and how long will it take for my dad to claim a legal residence in USA.
Thank you for your support!
October 6, 2019 at 18:40
You parents are asking for a visa. That is a privilege, not a right. They had to prove they were married, and apparently didn’t. That is the fault of your parents, not the embassy. They could easily have taken care of that before the interview! The embassy could actually have disqualified your mother for listing as married without proof – so you all need to accept the decision.
Now – how can they go forward. Your mother would have to Move to the USA get a job and sponsor your father. That could take a long time – up to 2 years. There is no other option. If your parents don’t want to do that, they do not have to move to the USA. It is up to them whether to part or not.
October 6, 2019 at 17:50
Hi Simon, thank you so much for your help! Question, Mexican and Spanish nationalities, Mexican birth country, may I be eligible to enter GC lottery? Thank you so much
October 6, 2019 at 18:29
No.
October 6, 2019 at 18:48
Dear Mr brit
In a video you posted lately on youtube about the 9 reasons of failure in dv. Among the list you mentioned TRAVEL BAN.
My questions are:
Q1. Does that mean all entrants from the banned countries will automaticaly ignored and will not be selected?
Q2. My country of birth and eligibility in the Dv entry is somalia at same time iam a dual national of Djibouti and i use Djibouti passport in the DV entry. Is that fine?
Q3.Since travel ban is in action Why do they still include banned countries in the dv lottery eligibe countries. ?
Looking forward to your answers
Thank you
October 7, 2019 at 03:33
1. No – it does NOT mean that.
2. Yes
3. Because some people (like yourself) can still be approved.
October 6, 2019 at 19:23
Hello Mr Simson.
First of all, thank you for all your hard work and helpful vlog about green card. The only quest I have is I am from Bulgaria. Can I apply for green card. It’s going to be my first year of applying. I know friends who got green cards from lottery in the past but from your last video you showed the eligible countries and Bulgaria is not there?! Did they delete Bulgaria from the list?!
Thank you advance. You’re the best
October 7, 2019 at 03:34
I showed the INeligible countries. Not eligible!
October 6, 2019 at 19:50

October 7, 2019 at 03:38
No. Because that would be a lie wouldn’t it! It’s really not that hard.
October 6, 2019 at 20:37
Dear Simon,
Is there any restriction about unpaid bank debts? For example, if I win the lottery and later on I pass the inteviews, is there any chance of denial having unpaid bank debts?
Thank you very much.
October 7, 2019 at 03:39
No
October 6, 2019 at 20:50
I am a 2020 DV winner.
I was born in Saudi Arabia and have an original Saudi birth cerificate but the date of birth is writtin in the Hijri calender as 4-Thulhijjah-1399 but the Gregorian calender date of birth is not written on it ( empty)because they used to write only Hijri form.
The problem is that, since i was born, my parents made my date of birth on all the officail documents in my counrty of nationality ( Yemen ) as 4-March-1979 and this date of birth is the one that is officially written and used in my Personal ID, Passport, Marriage certificate, all the official papers and documents including my university certificates.
But
If we transfer the date from the Hijri calender to the Gregorian calender it has to be 25-October-1979 and not 4-March-1979
Now my question is
1- will that affect my case and bring a disqualification to it?
2- Will KCC accept that?
I really want to be honest with them and with myself as i don’t wany to falsify, kowing that it is easy to write the 4-March-1979 in the empty place of the Gregorian caleder date but i will never ever do that even if i will lose the chance of getting the visa
Please help me and tell me what to do?
October 7, 2019 at 03:41
1. I cannot know for sure.
2. Same as 1.
All you can do is take your chance.
October 6, 2019 at 21:39
Dear brit
When iam completing the pasport details in the entry.
I choose somalia as my country of birth and eligibility.
But i only have my Djibouti passport. Can i use my Djibouti passport to complete passport requirement in the entry.
October 7, 2019 at 03:56
Yes
October 6, 2019 at 21:50
Hi Brit,
Do my children require passports for us to enter DV Lottery. The reason we haven’t applied yet is because children passports are only valid for 5years and would like to apply only once necessary for us to benefit from it for the full period. My husband and I however are passport holders as per the requirement. Your confirmation greatly appreciated.
October 7, 2019 at 03:58
No. That is crystal clear in the instructions.
October 8, 2019 at 10:50
Hello Brit ,I am a nurse with a diploma in nursing and in the educational column diploma is not listed ,so is it ok to choose high school no degree? Thanks.

October 7, 2019 at 01:30
Hello Brit,
I have watched your video about the latest healthcare rules that planned to be implemented in Nov 3rd. I am a DV2019 and I have my temporary visa issued in last August. I have also paid the GC fee in August. I will move to the US in late of this October. I wonder whether the new rules will affect my permanent GC issuance which I expect I will get within the next 3 months timeframe after my arrival.
Thank you Brit for all your effort in this blog on helping me and others.
October 7, 2019 at 04:02
In the video I answered that specific question. No you won’t be affected.
October 7, 2019 at 02:39
Please how can I get comfirmation code if using my mobile phone?
October 7, 2019 at 02:45
You simply go through the entry process.
October 7, 2019 at 02:46
Hi Brit, is it good to use mobile phone in entering the lottery?
October 7, 2019 at 04:03
Better than trying to use a pineapple.
October 7, 2019 at 03:16
Hi Brit,
Am scheduled for interview next month. I just realize that my photo which i used for entry its 700*700 not 600*600
will that cause me a problem (keep in mind I’ve shown the photographer the requirement photo size on the us.gov website)
what do you suggest ?
thanks
October 7, 2019 at 04:04
Carry on as normal.
October 7, 2019 at 03:40

Hi Brit, In the DV form, it is request to fill up “The city where you were born” but I was born in a village” Tainkauk village, Baray distict, Kg.Thom province. Which one should be the city?
October 8, 2019 at 03:06
I don’t know any of those places. Use some judgement.
October 8, 2019 at 03:17
You can use your province name as a city of birth or leave it blank by ticking a small box below nearby. I did this in my DV2020.
October 7, 2019 at 04:43
Hello, Simon.
I have a question about the address book and crime certificate after the age of 16 in the DS260 application.
In my case, I have traveled abroad for a long time.
I especially traveled around Southeast Asia.
In order to stay in Thailand for a long period of time, you will need a tourist visa (however, a maximum of 3 months for each stay), then travel to neighboring countries for a few days to get a visa, and then return to Thailand. It was repeated.
(Because I went to a cultural school where I cannot issue a student visa)
The total stay in Thailand from the age of 16 to the present is a total stay of about 4 years.
Is it necessary to fill in the “Address from 16 years old” and submit a “Crime Certificate” even if I am staying for sightseeing?
October 8, 2019 at 03:07
For 4 years??? Yes of course.
October 7, 2019 at 06:12

Dear Simon, About the police certificates;
1) In 2004 I have been to The USA for 5 years. Not registered. Do I need a police certificate from this country because there website is saying that you can only ask for a police certificate if you have lived in The states in the last 10 years?
2)In 2010 I have been working/traveling for 12 months on a working holiday visa to Australia. Do I need a certificate from them?
3)In 2012 Than 12 months working/traveling on a working holiday visa to New Zealand. Its was a 12 month visa but stayed 11 months and 29 days. Do I need a certificate from them?
4)Do they want police certificates from where you have been 12 months ore more in your entire life?
Thank you for your time
October 8, 2019 at 03:27
1. No police certs for the USA.

Awaiting your response. Stay blessed you been so helpful to everyone.
October 7, 2019 at 16:11
American law unfortunately does not permit polygamy. You can only enter one wife. Simon will confirm it. Good luck to you.
October 8, 2019 at 03:30
You cannot be registered with two wives. You cannot travel to USA with two wives.
October 7, 2019 at 07:31

October 8, 2019 at 03:32
If she is not going to process with you, you don’t normally submit the DS260 for her. If you have already done that – contact KCC to explain.
October 7, 2019 at 07:36
Dear Mr. Brit,

On Part One-Entrant Information
#4. City Where You Were Born:
It required to enter City Only.
But I was born at Svay Antor district in Prey Veng province that province doesn’t has a city.
Q1. What is the correct information should i enter on #4?

I know nothing about you or your countries provinces. You need to use your own judgement and common sense.

Hey Brit,
When will some one be disqualified for using picture they have used in previous year? Because I have selected for further processing with a picture I used in previous year d.v program. So does that mean I will be disqualified in the interview by the CO?

Possibly. I don’t know for sure.

I mistakenly inserted wrong size photo of my friend when I applied for DV2021, and DV lottery system warned about it. I corrected the photo and inserted it. Unfortunately I could not send the application as it says the following.
“request rejected. Your support ID is: 7621899764451886245”. I tried to send the application many times and it says the same thing every time.
Such thing happened in previous years, but they were always fine after inserting correct photo.
Brit, do you have any information about this problem this year. Do you have any suggestion to solve it?
Thanks very much in advance and looking forward to your reply

No I don’t know anything. I need someone with that problem to volunteer to give me ALL their details and photo, and I will try and replicate/solve it.

Hi. My question is about police clearance. I lived and worked in Germany as an Au Pair when I was 18yrs (over 20 years ago). I lived there for about 7 months, came home to South Africa for about 2-3 weeks and back to Germany for about 5 months. Total time there was 12 months with a break in between. Do I need to get a police clearance from Germany?

Hello Sir,
I am sorry to disturb again with this i-134 question but i need an explanatory answer.
If the sponsor who is supporting me, has signed the form for another person in the last dv-lottery, what is the problem that could be triggered to me this year. Considering that i-134 is not legally binding and the person who was sponsored in the last dv-lottery is now working and taking care of his self (not deppending on the sponsor). So i need to clarify :
1) for how long is the i-134 form on the system
2) what is the risk for me to go with this sponsor in the interview.
I’d be grateful if you provide me an answer and an advice.
Thank you very much.

1. I don’t know.
2. The risk is that they judge your sponsors income insufficient

Hi,
If I can’t find a sponsor, how much funds is enough for a 27 years old (if age is taken into consideration) single guy?
I have college education.
Thanks
