The visa bulletin for July interviews has been released. The numbers are a NICE surprise pretty much what I was hoping! Congratulations to everyone that just became current.
Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches, but we seem to be moving to a more normal procedure where almost all the 2NLs are sent before the end of the month, with just a handful being sent earlier this month. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.

Hey mr simon,
Do you have any prediction for the last 2 visa bulletin for Morocco and Algeria DV 2024?
thank you
May 19, 2024 at 08:32
No
May 18, 2024 at 08:22
Dear Mr Simon ,
I am 2024 DV winner ,
And my case number is not current by now
🧊Unlocking (my DS-260 from Rwanda) will it take longer or any Denial
Want to change interview location to NRB( Kenya)
Want to change as well my Birthday
My case is 2024AF00087***
Thanking you for your assistance
May 18, 2024 at 08:36
You can try unlocking if you like, but changing your birthday may cause some reprocessing. Your case number is very high anyway, so it may be a moot point.
May 18, 2024 at 07:44
Hello Simon.
My case is 2024EU23xxx current. I still have not received the 2nl. Could that be because I unlocked the DS-260 in April and missed the queue? Thank you.
May 18, 2024 at 08:34
Not likely. Which embassy?
May 18, 2024 at 23:22
Jerusalem embassy.
May 19, 2024 at 08:28
Well they are taking very few interviews, so maybe it will be next month.
May 18, 2024 at 01:54
Hi Simon, you say in your live video on YouTube that 60k in Cameroon will be interview probably in September, meanwhile they hv not send 2nl for July, if they send July interview may be around 160 too why can’t 60k be interview in August. Or those it mean they are not going to send July interview?
May 18, 2024 at 08:27
I am not suggesting they won’t send 2NLs for July, and if you watch the video I believe I pointed out they could have three, not two batches remaining.
May 17, 2024 at 13:30
Hi Simon, how long do you have to wait to be able to register your visa appointment?
May 17, 2024 at 15:34
A few days after the 2NL is received.
May 15, 2024 at 14:39
Hello Sir.
After the recent scheduling for Cairo embassy, do you think the bulletin will ever reach 55k?
May 15, 2024 at 16:19
I don’t know.
May 15, 2024 at 11:51
Hi Simon, case # 2024AF23*** Accra
My case is current for interview process. When do you think I can be interviewed?
May 15, 2024 at 12:36
Unfortunately is is clear that Accra has built a huge backlog of cases, and has not given enough capacity to interview the needed cases. Because of that, it is pretty much impossible for them to schedule the cases up to your case number, and you will lose your chance. I’m sorry the embassy made that decision.
May 15, 2024 at 06:31
Hello, I want to ask do I have a chance to get invation for interwiew? My case number ise 2024EU0057277. Thanks in advance.
May 15, 2024 at 07:41
That is very unlikely to happen.
May 17, 2024 at 20:06
Hi Simon, so what do you think most probable scenario for this year? Do you think they won’t issue 54K visas because some of the embassies misbehave? And if so what stops them to open visibility in EU more than you predicted so they can use embassies with better performance? Thanks in advance!🙏
May 17, 2024 at 22:23
Very hard to predict. Let’s wait and see.
May 14, 2024 at 13:49
Hello sir,
I won Dv 2025 lottery with the case number 2025AF22×××. Though I’m very excited but still worry because of my that I changed in 2022 because I wanted to made my identity more clear since my father is well known by the new name I’m using now. For example, previous name Jeremiah Saah but changed it to Jeremiah Saah Flomo. I made it legal by getting documents from the court for the new name I’m using now.
(1)Will this change of name reduce my chances of getting Visa?
(2)What is your advice to me please?
Hope for your response soon.
May 14, 2024 at 15:43
1. No
2. Complete the DS260 with the correct legal name and list other names in the “other names” section.
May 14, 2024 at 16:22
Thank so much for your help. Please I have one more concerned. My wife won Dv 2023 lottery after we play as couple to one of the internet cafe in our community. But during our interview, the counselor said that he couldn’t find my name so we were denied visa on ground of failure to comply with Dv entry regulations and failures to properly list your mate during entry. Even though we were having proved of the form we fill from the cafe as couple, we were still denied.
(1) Since it was my wife who was the principal applicant during that time, should I still answer yes on the ds 260 question was you denied visa?
(2) Will this previous deniah reduce my chances of getting Visa?
(3) What is your advice to me please?
Thank so much for your help.
Hope for your response soon.
May 14, 2024 at 18:12
1. Yes.
2. Probably not.
3. Drink lots of water.
May 14, 2024 at 12:42
Hi Simon, Nairobi has sent 2NLS for July interviews.2024AF544.When can I confirm my interview on the site?
May 14, 2024 at 15:40
You have the embassy interview booked already. It is confirmed already. Wait a few days before registering online, but again, you are NOT trying to book an interview.
May 14, 2024 at 09:47
Hi Simon, Cameroon embassy has not sent 2nl for July interview. Will there be hope for case number 2024AF59k.
May 14, 2024 at 10:12
Yes – be patient.
May 14, 2024 at 04:54
HI Mr. Simon,
1- Case 2024AF50XXX Cairo Embassy You Think Would Have a Chance For Interview?
2- If Decided To Transfer Interview Which Embassy In Asia Would You Recommend To Transfer To?
3- If Transferred Can The Medical Exam Be Done At Cairo Or It Has To Be Done At Interview Country?
Thank You
May 14, 2024 at 09:53
1. Maybe
2. The one you can move to.
3. In the interviewing country. And the assumption is that you are residing in that country.
May 14, 2024 at 01:07
Hi Simon
CN 2024EU17k and embassy is ABD
Current for 3 months since Feb but 2nl nowhere in sight.
Shall I give up?
May 14, 2024 at 09:29
What would be the point of giving up?
May 13, 2024 at 22:07
My case number is 2024AS219**. Do you think I will have a chance? What will be the final cut-off for Asia?
May 14, 2024 at 09:01
We will have to wait and see.
May 13, 2024 at 13:50
Hi Simon,
1. Do you expect a cut off this year for Uzbekistan & Russia or any other EU country?
2. Can you have 2 sponsors if only one doesn’t “hit the number”?
Thanks.
May 13, 2024 at 16:01
1. Yes – those two. And I also expect a cutoff for the region.
2. Then you have one sponsor. There is no point adding the sponsor who does not meet the FPG.
May 13, 2024 at 09:47
Hi,Brit, my case number AF7252* Monrovia Liberia, do you think I will be included in the next visa bulletin?
May 13, 2024 at 09:54
I don’t know. Wait and see.
May 13, 2024 at 06:04
Hello, Simon. My CN is 2024AS200** from Japan. I have not submit DS260 yet for avoiding immigrant intent because my CN is high. Do i should to submit it as soon as possible even if it seems like my turn won’t come?
May 13, 2024 at 06:18
You are going to have to decide, because I am not sure whether your number will become current or not, but unless you submit very soon, there won’t be time to process your form.
May 12, 2024 at 15:11
Hello Simon, my case number is 70k from Egypt, and I changed the place of my interview to Algeria. I reside in Egypt and have never traveled to Algeria. I changed the place of the interview because I am sure that I will not get the opportunity to interview in Egypt, so I ask you: Do they require residency or can my visa be rejected? Because I have no connection to Algeria on the day of the interview, please answer me
May 12, 2024 at 23:19
Yes they might ask for residency proof.
However, your case number is very high and seems unlikely it will go current (as Egypt is an “except” country).
May 11, 2024 at 10:30

Hi mr brit simon.my case finaly became current 2024AF67k .interview location is djibouti.when should I expect 2NL? Thank you
May 11, 2024 at 18:46
Probably next month – they already sent 2NLs for July.
May 17, 2024 at 04:03
Okay sir. Is it possible they might send another 2NLs in this month in djibouti ?? Thank you
May 11, 2024 at 09:16
Hi Simon!
2024 question, are applicants receiving emails from KCC stating the their case “is ready to be scheduled when the number becomes current”? Or has that stopped or changed when they started no longer requiring documents to be submitted?
My uncle submitted his DS-260 6 months ago but so far no response or update on the status. Number AS22K.
Thanks again for all that you do!
May 11, 2024 at 09:31
Which embassy?
May 11, 2024 at 07:10
Hi Mr Simon
what do I have to provide as a certificate in case of that my spouse couldn’t among us me and my 2 kids to the interview because they won’t release her till she finishes her army contract in a year and half time from now.
In my DS260 I said that she Will go with me, do I have to correct this information and when is the right moment to do it.
Thanks a Lot
May 11, 2024 at 09:22
You must give proper information when you ask questions. Year/Region/Case!!!
If she cannot be released then she will not be processed and you will spend years sponsoring her later.
May 10, 2024 at 20:19
Britsimon:.
Do you think AF35xxx can get chance for interview?
Thank you boss!
May 11, 2024 at 09:05
You should be watching my videos. If you had you would know the answer and know that was a pointless question.
It is a low number, in the bottom half of the numbers and therefore will go current. However, the embassy performance is important too.
May 10, 2024 at 16:49
I suppose this is finally a good jump for Asia! What are you expecting for Asia in the coming months? Any chance it may hit 27K or should I just give up?
Thanks for your efforts.
May 10, 2024 at 18:03
I guess you have to wait and see.
May 10, 2024 at 07:07
Hello Simon, Any chance my case no. 2024OC2051 will be current in the next visa bullentin? What are yr views?

Hello Brit. I was a winner of DV 2020, as a family of four we had a successful visa interview, but visa were not printed before Covid interrupted and lost our chance. Again I’m a DV 2025 winner, now I have a family of six.
1. One the DS260 form there is a question of whether we have been refused a U.S. visa before. What should be our answer?
2. Is it possible for me to process before my derivatives, then later in the same fiscal year my derivatives process too? Do you know of anyone who has succeeded in doing this?
May 10, 2024 at 06:06
1. The previous DV case wasn’t refused – right?
2. It is technically possible but timing could create risk and the alternative process is costly and very slow (years)
May 9, 2024 at 14:04
Hi, I think it is a fairly nice jump for EU. As we have 2 months left, do you think it will go up to 33k at least in these months?
May 10, 2024 at 05:50
I will wait and see
May 9, 2024 at 10:46
Hi Simon when should we expect the next Ceac data update
May 10, 2024 at 05:42
Each Friday
May 9, 2024 at 07:29
Dear Mr. Simon,
I appreciate all the info I have learned from your recent videos.
I have a CN just below EU39xxx for DV-2025 and I’m trying to understand my chances.
Currently it seems the maximum numbers are in the 41xxx range, that’d make my
number way too high, but I see in your summary chart that at least in 2021 and 2022,
even higher selectee numbers became current before September.
Is it probable that for DV-2025, the EU region could go until current as well,
or thats unlikely given the numbers for dv-2024 and dv-2023?
Also, in one of your videos you mention that the July bulletin visa determines
who can go to an interview by September. Does that mean if my CN becomes current in
August, I won’t get an interview regardless?
Many thanks for your feedback!
May 9, 2024 at 07:47
Please watch the video I posted yesterday.
May 12, 2024 at 10:23
Hi Simon, I went through your videos again, sorry I missed the Covid part earlier. Makes me even less hopeful though, so the last “normal” year was 2018 and EU didn’t even go near 39k, seems it’ll be the same case this year too, its a bit too optimistic to expect it for DV2025 right? Well, at least years like 2015 and 2014 make it look possible at least. I’ll be following your updates in any case, thanks for your service!
May 12, 2024 at 11:24
Every year is different – don’t go crazy comparing years. For DV2025, we don’t know selectee numbers yet, we only know approximate case number ranges. That means nothing. In 41000 case numbers there could be 25,000 people (about 11000 cases) or 50,000 people (about 22000 cases). It’s a question of how many people there are, not case numbers.
May 9, 2024 at 03:15
Hello Simon,
I am in Algeria and my case number is AF65XXX, so it is current now. I submitted my, and my wife’s, DS-260 back in May 15th, 2023.
I have quite a complex case because I traveled to a few countries:
China: to study for a PhD & work after, long period
Belgium: study also (and visited few European countries), medium period
USA, Germany, Saudi Arabia & Malaysia: short period
So, my question: is it possible to have a case where a DS-260 does not finish processing even though it is submitted very early?
Note: last I email KCC inquiring about my DS-260 processing status was on March 27th, and their reply was: “Your forms have been received and are currently processing.”
May 9, 2024 at 07:39
Possible, but not likely.
May 15, 2024 at 08:02
Thank you for the reply. I got another question to ask if possible, please.
I downloaded the data dump from https://dvcharts.xarthisius.xyz/ceacFY24.html
I noticed, for the AF region, that there are some very small number such as 2024AF27, that are still in the NVC status. I assume this means they surely have submitted their DS260, so how come until now these cases didn’t get an interview? Could be because it is still processing?
My other question is when checking my status at CEAC, I see at “KCC”. Would you please tell me what does that mean? And if you have a video explaining these different status step, please point me to. If you don’t, I think it would be a helpful thing to explain to all people.
Thank you.
May 15, 2024 at 08:49
I have explained this in many videos and on my blog.
“At NVC” is the starting point for all cases, so some cases never move past that for various reasons including the person never submit the DS260.
In fact, NVC never touches DV cases. They are processed by KCC – and until your case is scheduled, that is where your case is – hence the status.
May 8, 2024 at 21:08
Hi Mr Simon
I’m from Sudan and my case number is AF50×××× and it’s current as you know and I choose Ethiopia embassy because there is war in sudanto have my interview but I heard there is backlog issue caused delay. Do you think this problem will get fixed ?
May 9, 2024 at 00:17
Not for DV2024.
May 8, 2024 at 16:30
They need to issue about 10K in 5 remaining months in EU and it almost obvious they won’t be able to issue 2K visas per month in May and June . would they be able to schedule enough cases to issue 2.5-3K in remaining months?
May 9, 2024 at 00:13
We will see…
May 8, 2024 at 16:13
Any updates on the spousal visa interviews in Ghana? My case has been documentarily qualified since September 2023.
May 9, 2024 at 00:13
I only discuss DV Lottery
May 8, 2024 at 09:57
Hi Brit, my CN is high AS19xxx and I’m currently in H1B application process, should I consider paying the DV administrative fee now? (I didn’t submit DS-260 for safety)
May 8, 2024 at 23:55
I don’t even know your year or clear circumstances.
May 9, 2024 at 10:46
I’m DV2024 AS19xxx, I got picked in H1B lottery last month and currently applying for H1B visa, sorry for the missing information
May 9, 2024 at 11:01
my biggest concern is will DV green card application affect my H1B application? thanks
May 10, 2024 at 05:42
The H1B is a dual intent visa, meaning it is unaffected by an immigrant intention.
May 8, 2024 at 07:37
Hi Simon! Quick question, what do you think of Egypt at the moment? My number is AF53K and am guessing there is “no hope” for my number to go current given the small jumps Egypt is having? Would love to know your opinion! Thanks!
May 8, 2024 at 23:51
I don’t have an opinion/prediction.
May 8, 2024 at 04:53
Do you think there is a chance that the next visa bulletin will include EU 36500?
May 8, 2024 at 23:39
Wait and see.
May 8, 2024 at 04:53
Hi, Brit. Thanks for always updating us, Af 73k Monrovia, do you think I’ve a chance?
May 8, 2024 at 23:39
Maybe.
May 8, 2024 at 00:01
Do you think As1272X is likely to get 2nl from Nepal looking at the latest VB?
May 8, 2024 at 23:26
Wait and see.
May 7, 2024 at 23:27
It’s a good jump, however they didn’t give Russia much space this time and the gap is very big comparing to previous years, might be there any reason behind that? Do you think Russia will close the gap in the last two bulletins? My number is 34k and I am tied to Russia region, unfortunately
May 8, 2024 at 23:25
I don’t know….
May 7, 2024 at 22:55
Mr Simon, I am a dv 2024 winner from Ethiopia with a CN 2024AF 21xxx. I am currently a 3rd year student at Addia Ababa university who expects to be graduated in 2027. When I have filled a DS260 form back in may 2023, I have selected “University no degree” in the educational section, and highest education level completed subsection.
I have also mentioned that I do have completed semester grade reports of my previous taken courses.
Here I want to ask you that do I have to change the highest education completed from “University no degree” to
“Highschool diploma”. And if I have to change it, is it possible to unlock ds 260 and in what way do I unlock my ds260.
Thank you for your time, motive and consideration. I am looking forward to hearing from you.Thank you sir in advance.
May 8, 2024 at 23:24
that is not a problem. Just list the education correctly.
May 9, 2024 at 07:05
Hey, Simon. On this same issue, what is suitable for someone who finished university but has not received a transcript or degree yet usually because graduation times are far ahead. If i choose “university, degree” would i still be lying? Or do we go with either “high school diploma “ or “university, no degree”.
Also, is Kampala now an option for taking interviews, it previously wasn’t but i saw it in the list as one of the options of “no, i want to be interviewed in:” people from here were going to Nairobi for their interviews but now that its an option, is it safe to choose it?
May 9, 2024 at 07:44
1. Don’t overthink it. Just use your judgement.
2. I can’t predict the future.
May 7, 2024 at 20:22
How do you assess the work of the Embassy in Montreal (Canada)?
May 8, 2024 at 23:18
its OK.
May 7, 2024 at 19:41
Hi simon, how would I know if my ds260 is already processed or not? should I email them asking or there’s another simpler way?
May 8, 2024 at 23:12
Just email.
May 7, 2024 at 17:11
They opened roughly 1500 case numbers for July. How can it be enough to fill the quota in such a short time?
May 7, 2024 at 17:30
It’s more than 1500 – but in any case, don’t forget that each case in EU means 2.25 people. They did good.
May 7, 2024 at 16:52
Here in DRS things are still not moving..My case number is 55XXX current and my friend case number is 38XXX ,ds submitted before Nov 2023,none of us have 2NL..do we still have a chance..Days are numbered to September 30.
May 7, 2024 at 17:24
I don’t know what DRS will do.
May 7, 2024 at 18:32
should we contact the embasy ans ask them. Accord to Xavier website, they they accept case up number 26XXX….Dar es Salaam, Tanzania…
May 8, 2024 at 23:04
The embassy know nothing about your case.
May 9, 2024 at 17:46
We were thinking the embasy is the one that request cases from KCC…..Seems it is the opposite. So just curious, why some embassy like NBR they have cases ready up to 52k while DRS is only 26K as per Xavier..ANyway, we will appreciate your best advice to us on how to habdle this issue, inorder for us to have 2nl.
May 10, 2024 at 05:53
This is very clear.
The embassy sets the capacity, KCC schedule the cases. If the embassy sets a low capacity each month, there will be a backlog.
May 16, 2024 at 06:09
WIth current situation, my number is AF52xxx, DRS….can I ask KCC to switch my post of interview, say to NRB or South Africa? Is it possible or I am too late. The perfomance of DRS is kind slow to me.
May 16, 2024 at 10:17
It would have been possible if you had done it earlier. Now you are current though it is much harder. You will probably have to just wait and hope DRS does the right thing.
May 7, 2024 at 16:04
Finally our number became current, I am extremely happy! Thank God.
May 7, 2024 at 15:09
Hi Simon,
do you think there is a chance left for CN 2024EU29xxx in Frankfurt?
How is the embassy in Frankfurt doing?
May 7, 2024 at 15:27
1. Yes – same as I have always said.
2. Fine.
May 10, 2024 at 12:19
Hi Simon,
Do you think there is a chance left for CN 2024EU39xxx in Frankfurt?
May 10, 2024 at 14:53
Risky. All we can do is wait and see.
May 7, 2024 at 15:06
The first big jump for AS!!
May 7, 2024 at 18:48
DKR is not moving at all. My case AF382XX is ready for scheduling à months ago but until now no 2NL.
May 7, 2024 at 14:19
Mr Simons,
the visa bulletin for Morocco is at 52K with two bulletin to end the fiscal year.
For a case number of AF70100 Morocco. is there any logical chance to get an interview or the case number wont make it.
thank you
May 7, 2024 at 14:43
You will have to wait and see
May 18, 2024 at 17:04
Bonjour Monsieur Simon
May 18, 2024 at 22:32
You have a long time to wait. Relax and read the basic questions link.
Please post questions in English.
