The visa bulletin for July interviews has been released. The numbers are a NICE surprise pretty much what I was hoping! Congratulations to everyone that just became current.

Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches, but we seem to be moving to a more normal procedure where almost all the 2NLs are sent before the end of the month, with just a handful being sent earlier this month. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.

Is there a chance to get 2NL for case number 2024AF29k in Addis Ethiopia.
July 31, 2024 at 12:37
Realistically, no.
June 20, 2024 at 15:16
Hi brit
Am from Addis 33k what you recommend me to wait for 2NL oe to relocate consular office?i need your help please
Please shall you cobsult me please!
June 21, 2024 at 09:01
I have been explaining all this year that people with case numbers such as yours need to move to another embassy. You should have taken action, and honestly it might be too late now. I don’t think Addis will reach your case number for an interview.
June 10, 2024 at 17:08
I have EU5704* case number. Will this ever come current?
June 10, 2024 at 18:06
DV2024 I assume? Probably not.
June 9, 2024 at 14:01
hey Simon I hope you’re well, so I had a question. If you look at Xarthisius data in Addis Ababa, I have seen a huge leap from 22k to 48k. Can you kindly explain why that would happen? I saw that leap in NRB last year too
Would you be certain if a well-performing embassy would do the same next year, or perhaps they’d slack? Is it something that is unpredictable, or what do you reckon from your experience?
June 9, 2024 at 14:14
You are talking about 2024AF46114. That case was originally scheduled in NRB, then transferred to ADD. Add themselves have not exceeded 21k yet.
June 9, 2024 at 05:23
When will Af 2024, 59k Cameroon probably receive 2nd
June 9, 2024 at 05:48
This month.
June 8, 2024 at 17:33
When will Af 59k possibly received 2nl in Cameroon
June 9, 2024 at 00:06
No year, no answer.
June 8, 2024 at 13:35
Hi, do you think they are going to fill the quota in EU this year?
June 8, 2024 at 15:47
I would need a crystal ball for that, right?
June 9, 2024 at 03:42
Sorry, I thought you had it:). But seriously don’t you think it can influence cut off numbers whether they are going to reach the quota or not?
June 9, 2024 at 05:02
We’ll see.
June 8, 2024 at 00:20
Hello, what is your forecast for Europe on DV24?
June 8, 2024 at 09:17
Same as it was back in January. I expect to see mid to upper 30’s.
June 7, 2024 at 17:02
Good evening Brit.
1.Please I wish to ask if dv applicants need the I-864 affidavit of support form??
2. And too what document will we need to proof we won’t become a public charge when we get to the US?? Is it a bank statement??
And if yes what is the extimate??
June 7, 2024 at 20:19
1. No – and I-134
2. DV cases show finances either by personal savings (over $10k per person) or an I-134
August 19, 2024 at 12:13
Hello, thank you for your meaningful support.
I am a winner of DV2025.
I would like to get your opinion on asset proofing.
I have a minimum of 10k assets set aside for each family member and in addition to that I am considering receiving 20k from my parents as support.
(I am considering ways to do this such as borrowing, estate gifts, etc.)
Would receiving assets from my parents be a problem?
Thank you in advance.
August 19, 2024 at 13:07
No problem. You might want to get a letter from them that states the money is a gift, and not repayable.
August 22, 2024 at 07:07
Thank you so much!
June 6, 2024 at 02:51
Hi Simon,
2024EU23xxx Jerusalem embassy
I have not received the 2nl letter and when trying to call KCC they don’t answer.
To the messages, they send the automatic answers.
Is there any way to speak to them?
Thank you a lot for your help.
June 6, 2024 at 09:25
No – they haven’t answered the phone for a couple of years.
June 4, 2024 at 11:57
Hello Simon,
Good day!
I’m DV2025OC9xx assigned to the Mumbai – BMB embassy.
Is this embassy doing well?
I saw some comments from DV2024 that this embassy has been a cause of concern. If this is true, can I change my embassy to Sydney (A difficult task personally)?
T.I.A
June 4, 2024 at 17:12
BMB does OK.
June 2, 2024 at 19:56
Hi Simon
I won the DV 2025 my case number is AF35xxx and I have submitted my DS260 from Ghana, is there a possibility of getting an interview?
June 3, 2024 at 10:13
The way Accra is behaving in DV2024, I would not trust them to get to your number in DV2025. So – your number will probably be safe, but you will have to move somewhere else. You don’t have to do that yet, you can wait until we see the progress on January 1
June 2, 2024 at 19:01
Hello
My case number is af60118 Cameroonian living in Oman is the possibility. do have have any chase ?
June 3, 2024 at 10:10
No year makes this hard to answer, but you probably have some chance.
June 1, 2024 at 18:04
Hi Simon, My case is current with case # 2024AF48*** Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. While reviewing the CEAS data, i have seen case # AF20875 ready (2nl date) for May 13/2024 and then case # AF46114 ready (2nl date) for April 11 2024.
1st: I didn’t understood this much gap when the previous cases had very little gap.
2nd: does this show I have a higher chance to get interviewed? and, Could you please give me your detailed explanation
with best regards,
June 1, 2024 at 18:15
The 46K case was wise (or followed my suggestions earlier in the year) and moved the case to Nairobi. Once the case was scheduled at NRB, they then requested moving back to Addis.
Your case will not be scheduled at Addis. You have a small possibility to move your case based on the new policy (see my recent blog post/video) . If you don’t do that you will lose your chance.
June 1, 2024 at 03:36
Hi Simon, I am 2024EU26 and I have finally got my 2NL yesterday, I am so happy about it! However, I am just wondering, during the interview I know that they check the about of money that you have in the bank account, do you know roughly the minimum that
we need to have ?
Thanks in advance!
June 1, 2024 at 09:41
I have been saying $10K per person for years. They may expect more now. In lieu of that an I-134 may be helpful.
May 31, 2024 at 18:40
Hello Simon how are you ?
I am 2024 OC192X. Submitted DS260 on 26th May 2023 and this is reflected on CEAC website. I see on Xarthisius data that 2NLs have been sent up to OC1994. My embassy is Bombay, India. I have not received my 2NL yet. What could be the problem? Should I email NVC?
May 31, 2024 at 21:47
The embassy is the problem.
I don’t know if they will schedule cases next month.
June 1, 2024 at 00:21
Can you please suggest how to proceed?
June 1, 2024 at 09:33
Well if you are in Mumbai, hope they take interviews next month.
May 31, 2024 at 12:48
Hello Simon,
No 2NLs have gone for OC region yet. Do you think it’s a cause of concern for case numbers that’s current at the moment?
Thanks
May 31, 2024 at 12:58
Let’s wait and see.
May 30, 2024 at 22:30
Hi Simon, my case # is AS224** from Sri Lanka ( Colombo). Will I get an interview?
May 30, 2024 at 22:31
I dont know.
May 30, 2024 at 07:02
I’m from Addis Ababa Ethiopia, My case 2024AF35*** Do you know if there is reached their limit already?
Or do I get chance to interview appointment?
May 30, 2024 at 11:16
They have not reached their limit, but according to my calculation I do NOT believe they will interview you at Addis. If you want to save your win, you must go to another country.

May 28, 2024 at 00:46
Is there any chance for my case number to be current 2024OC23**?
May 28, 2024 at 10:54
It’s somewhat risky. You just have to wait and see.
May 27, 2024 at 02:22
Hi, Simon. Please Accra Gh is still around AF5***, reading from the charts. Please is it possible they will reach AF12***, because my case has been current since 09/2023 and No 2NL has been received yet and I think the whole year cycle is almost through, so I still have a chance? Regards.
May 27, 2024 at 08:40
It would take a massive change in 2NL numbers to get to 12k. So – is it possible – yes. Will it happen – well we can only wait and see.
May 25, 2024 at 21:09
Hi Simo, my case is current with 2024AF55### for consulate Yaounde, Cameroon. No 2NLs have been send for me in May yet. Do you know if there is a backlog in Yaounde and if Cameroon reached their limit already?
May 25, 2024 at 23:30
Let’s see if they take some 2nls for July
May 25, 2024 at 18:09
Hi Simon my CN is current 2024AF62### in tunis, tunisia and didn’t receive the 2nl for July yet does they have backlog in Tunis ? Thank you .
May 25, 2024 at 18:29
No backlog before this month – so if they release some 2NLs this month it will probably be up to date.
May 31, 2024 at 14:28
After the end of this month July interview can’t be sent anymore?
May 31, 2024 at 14:30
They might send some more 2nls before the next VB
May 31, 2024 at 14:48
So interviews can still be sent even after the end of the month as long as it’s before the following VB ? Thank you for everything.
May 25, 2024 at 08:32
Is there any chance for my case number to be current 2024EU34***?
May 25, 2024 at 08:34
Maybe – we just have to wait and see.
May 24, 2024 at 07:10
Can we expect 2NLs last week of the month? Usually there is no 2NLs issued during the last week of the month right?
May 24, 2024 at 11:13
2NLs have previously been issued up to and even a little after the end of the month.
May 23, 2024 at 19:45
my 1st NL has this wording ”Your case will not be scheduled for an interview appointment until a visa number is available, you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided copies of all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC). You will receive document submission instructions by e-mail after KCC processes and accepts the DS-260 application forms for you and any accompanying family members. You can see a list of required documents that you will need to provide at ”https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/diversity-visa-program-entry/diversity-visa-if-you-are-selected/diversity-visa-prepare-supporting-documents.html. If you are scheduled for an interview, you will receive an e-mail notification message. These important e-mails will be sent to the email address you provided on your initial application. Notify KCC at [email protected] if your e-mail address changes to ensure you receive all notifications regarding your Diversity Visa case.’;
Does this is the reasond I did not receive 2nl although I am current since March with AF 38XXX, Tanzania embasy
May 23, 2024 at 22:35
No.
July 4, 2024 at 19:32
Jonathan, have you received your 2NL yet? I am also waiting for my 2NL to be interviewed at Tanzania
May 23, 2024 at 13:26
It’s been over 2 weeks and no 2NLs are sent out for OC region.
With a case number of OC19xx, should this be a cause of concern?
May 23, 2024 at 15:19
Well 5 have been sent, but the month is not over so I do expect some more to be sent.
May 23, 2024 at 16:02
Thank you for taking time to respond, Brit.
When the visa bulletin jumped from 1650 to 1850 – 43 2NLs were sent between April 11 and 12th.
I was worried since it’s 23rd and only 5 2NLs have been sent.
Thank you again for your wonderful insights.
May 22, 2024 at 01:55
For the month of July, few 2NLs have been sent.
Will this affect the next two months’ visa bulletin?
In January 2024, you predicted that the Asia high end will be 25,000. Do you still stand by that value?
May 22, 2024 at 09:14
I gave a range in January that the cutoff could come between 17k to 25K. I am still comfortable with that range – but that means it could easily be 17k or above.
July has had a HIGH number of 2NLs – Until yesterday 2810 so far. 692 for AS alone.
May 21, 2024 at 12:46
Hi Britt, how long does it take to register an appointment? 2024AF544***** Nairobi. Its now 5 days and have not been able to register my July interview
May 21, 2024 at 15:54
Your **JULY** interview.
Exercise some patience.
May 20, 2024 at 19:20
Hello Simon,
If I have three options for embassy because I can relocate Montreal, Abu Dhbai and Cairo DV2025 AS 17xxx, Which embassy would you recommend, I have not submitted the DS-260 yet. Thanks in advance, Looking forward for your kind and swift reply
May 20, 2024 at 22:18
Your case number will probably mean you will wait a year. I can’t predict how those embassies will behave a year from now. Make your choice and change later if you need.
May 20, 2024 at 09:38
Hi Simo, my case is current with 2024AF60### for consulate Johannesburg, South Africa. No 2NLs have been send for JHN in May yet. Do you know if there is a backlog in JHN and if South Africa reached their limit already?
May 20, 2024 at 10:46
They are not backlogged and haven’t reached any cap. Just be patient.
May 20, 2024 at 07:00
Good day Brit
1.Please I wish to ask if 2nls are sent to winners before being published on ceac data or after the day it is published before we start to receive 2nls?
I wish to know Because from the day 2nls are published on ceac data it shows the embassy had received letters days ago. So is it possible they send letters before updating it on CEAC??
I am from Cameroon case number 51k, hoping to receive 2nl this weekend since my number had been current.
May 20, 2024 at 07:21
CEAC is updated precisely when the 2NLs are sent.
Xarthisius extracts the CEAC data once per week.
