The visa bulletin for June interviews has been released. I have to say the numbers are lower than I had expected across the board. I was hoping to see 60K for AF, 23/24k for EU 10K for AS and so on. So the numbers are a little lower than I hoped and it will be hard to have a great scheduling month from such low numbers.

Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, can normally expect their 2NL in the next 2 to 3 weeks from now. This is supposed to be the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs in daily batches, but we seem to be moving to a more normal procedure where almost all the 2NLs are sent before the end of the month, with just a handful being sent earlier this month. I would normally expect all the interview 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month, but we can see recently they are exceeding that to try and get as many interviews in as possible. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month, and even the first few days of the following month during exceptional times.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.
May 7, 2024 at 11:13
Hey Mr. Simon! Thanks for the help you provide.
My case number is 53XXX Egypt, transferred my interview location to another embassy, what are the chances of visa bulletin for egypt to reach my case number?
May 7, 2024 at 11:59
I don’t have a prediction – wait and see.
May 7, 2024 at 13:16
Thanks, but is there anything to do beyond just waiting?
i mean can i have an interview prior to my number being in the visa bulletin, if the embassy i have interview in is empty?
May 7, 2024 at 13:28
Only waiting. You cannot interview before your number is current.
May 7, 2024 at 01:08
Hello brit, what about tanzania embassy, case number 552xxx but not received 2nl upto now,is there a baklog?
May 7, 2024 at 08:26
Yes. They have not taken cases above about 26k yet.
May 7, 2024 at 00:51
Hi brit?what about the Tanzania embassy?case 572XX,current but have not received the 2nls upto now.
May 7, 2024 at 08:20
Well you aren’t current for a start. But anyway that embassy is backlogged, so all you can do is wait and see if they increase their capacity.
May 6, 2024 at 12:30
Hello Mr Simon
Really appreciate your time in replying to these many questions. Your work is really priceless. God bless u.
I got selected in dv2025 with a case number 60xxx.
Can you rate my chances of getting interviewed. From Sierra Leone, Freetown .
Thanks for your response.

Hi Britsimon
After my interview, how long does it take for my status to be changed from “Ready” to “issued”?
Thankyou.
April 26, 2024 at 10:00
Varies.
April 25, 2024 at 10:45
Hi, Simon! Previous years when a region went current there were always more people then visas available. I think current means that there are more visas then embassies could schedule in remaining months and with such bad performance last two months it doesn’t look like they can process more then previous years. What do you think?
April 25, 2024 at 11:10
The term current has a defined meaning which is really that numerical control is no longer necessary – all case numbers can be interviewed.
April 25, 2024 at 14:04
Exactly, that’s what I mean , even if all case numbers are interviewed there is big chance they won’t fill the quota at least for AF and EU
April 26, 2024 at 09:56
That isn’t correct in my opinion.
April 24, 2024 at 04:13
Sir,
Do you think by moving to Freetown or Monrovia I have to get 2NL?
April 24, 2024 at 08:35
The problem is that you are already locked in to the original embassy since you are current, so KCC won’t move your embassy.
April 24, 2024 at 09:30
Now can I write the embassy intended when they accept to take my case and then I will ask Dakar tient transfer my case There if FTN or MONROVIA is doing à good job
April 24, 2024 at 09:47
The embassy doesn’t know anything about your case until the 2NL is sent, and that is at risk since they are not conducting interviews at the moment.
April 25, 2024 at 15:55
Since yesterday I have been informed thé us embassy at Dakar release sévère appointement for K1 visa.
Does it mean they will start taking cases for interview son?
April 26, 2024 at 09:57
No you cannot assume that.
April 25, 2024 at 20:10
Hi,
I am 24 DV my case number is AS 188xx and I am in the US when I need to do AOS and if it is became current can I do it?
Thanks
April 26, 2024 at 09:58
That is possible, yes.
April 23, 2024 at 17:32
Hello sir.
Do you have to submit birth certificates for derivatives; wife and children even if you stated that they will be joining you later and did not submit DS260 for them?
April 23, 2024 at 17:57
Typically no.
April 23, 2024 at 23:29
Hello mr brit simon.is there any chance for AF67 to get interviewed in Djibouti
April 24, 2024 at 08:26
Yes.
April 23, 2024 at 16:49
Hi brit I m a Dv 24 applicant from Morocco my casse number is 2024AF51k.
How the you think the time I well received next lettre
April 23, 2024 at 16:57
I don’t know.
April 23, 2024 at 15:41
Hello Brit, Having receive the email from KCC that they are unable to unlock my DS-260 for address update because I am current. What do you advise I do? AF14K is my case number btw. I am studying in Canada now.
April 23, 2024 at 16:04
What was your “old” embassy?
April 23, 2024 at 16:25
My old embassy is Acc-Ghana
April 23, 2024 at 16:46
I was afraid you would say that.
Basically you will lose your chance of getting a greencard unless you can get moved to Montreal. KCC don’t want to help and have you allocated to Accra. Accra won’t get to your case number because they are only taking a small number of cases each month. Unless you can try again to get KCC to move you, your chance will end.
You could try contacting the embassy in Montreal, proving to them that you now live in Canada, and see if THEY will contact KCC to ask KCC to move your case to them. That is hard to get them to do, but a handful of cases have managed similar things in the past.
April 23, 2024 at 19:54
Ok, I have written to the embassy in MTL and will keep you updated on the outcome. Thanks
April 20, 2024 at 16:20
Hi BritSimon, I’m a Dv 2024 Applicant from Ghana. My case number is 2024AF18k .my case number has been current but I have not received a 2nl from my embassy after submitting my ds-260 forms. I tried contacting the embassy they said due to the backlog we should hold on. I want to transfer my case to a nearby country which embassy is performing well. Please is there any chance for my case to be schedule for interview if I transfer my case to a different country? Please I need your advice.
April 20, 2024 at 19:12
Accra have been very slow and inconsistent with the number of interviews they accept each month. At the current pace, I doubt they will give interviews for cases above 10k. Unfortunately your only chance would have been to move to another country, but it is probably impossible to do that now.
April 20, 2024 at 14:21
Thank you so much I really appreciate 🙏!
April 20, 2024 at 13:02
Hi Brittsimon thank you so much because with your help my mom ,dad and my brother 21 years old they came in NY.You helped me a lot with the frozen age !Please I have one question my parent need to go back in Albania how many time they can stay there without problem for the green card!Or they need to fill out any form for that???Because they need to stay one year there .Please help me with this becaus eI don’t want they to have problem with the green card.Asirima
April 20, 2024 at 14:15
They can stay there for up to 364 days. If they need longer than that they can apply for an I-131. but that approval takes some time (a couple of months), so what they can do is stay 11 months, come back to USA for a visit, then go back again for a few more months if they need it.
April 19, 2024 at 23:26
Hi am 2024AF544XX Nairobi. When should I expect the 2NL?
April 20, 2024 at 07:12
Hopefully next month.
April 19, 2024 at 19:39
Hi Britsimon.
Please share your opinion.
My case is EU17k; the embassy is ABD, which has sent notices to AS/AF regions only for the last two months and 0 to Europe.
Do you have any idea why these two regions are a priority?
Shall I try to beg USCIS to switch to FRN (as a Ukrainian national) or relocate to the US now (I have an h-4 visa) and apply for AOS?
I initially thought the problem was with my DS-260, but KCC emailed me a reply that my case is current, and because it is ready to be scheduled, the form can’t be unlocked.
April 19, 2024 at 23:13
It’s not a priority for AS & AF, it is simply the low number of EU cases there.
Personally I would wait to be interviewed there, but you can choose another route if you want.
April 15, 2024 at 11:47
Good afternoon Simon!
I just recieved my 2NL for Stockholm interview early june. EU20k. Soo happy! Defending my masters thesis on Friday prior the interview. Talk to me about a better timing! 😀 Thanks a lot for the guidance and all of the support throughout the process Simon!
April 15, 2024 at 12:31
Nice!!! Good luck for both!
April 15, 2024 at 00:48
Hi BritSimon!, thanks for the good work. I submitted my DS 260 very late(October 2023). My case number is 2024AF33k assigned to Accra embassy(Ghana). Is there any chance of going current and having an interview?
April 15, 2024 at 08:58
You are current, but you have no chance of getting interviewed. You should have moved your case to another embassy (by moving to another country). I have been *screaming* for people from Accra to do that for months. It is now probably too late.
April 14, 2024 at 22:29
Hi, why do you think Asia or any region won’t go current? Typically, from July onward, most regions become current. What’s your perspective on this? My case number is 2024AS21*** ??
April 15, 2024 at 08:57
Because there are 143000 people selected and 55000 available. “current” means there are more visas available than people who want them, and that is OBVIOUSLY not correct this year and there is not enough dysfunction (as has been the case in recent years) to make that happen. The math doesn’t work. I have explained that in numerous videos including one specific for each region.
April 14, 2024 at 18:25
Oceania 2024 25xx any chance
April 14, 2024 at 18:56
Maybe. But it’s looking risky.
April 14, 2024 at 11:39
Hello Simon, my case is 2024AF546xx and filled my ds-260 on 22 may, are there chances of being interviewed in June? Nairobi

Hi Brit! Thanks for all your support. What do you think about SA50xx?
April 14, 2024 at 08:42
Probably too high to get scheduled.
April 14, 2024 at 02:55
I came from asia, i have 2024AS11***.
Can I get current on July?
Another question is that would dv impact my future F1 visa application process? If yes, is there any way to prepare/ explain about my process?
You answer will be very kind to me. Thank you.
Best regards
April 14, 2024 at 08:40
Maybe July.
An immigrant application (the DS260) can make future non immigrant visa applications a bit harder. But you already submitted the DS260 so its too late to worry about that.
April 13, 2024 at 19:41
hello simon, thanks for all your work, do you think it will be likely that we see another 200 case jump in the next vb for oceania?
April 13, 2024 at 19:59
I think we will see that jump, but nit sure if it would come in the next VB.
April 14, 2024 at 18:23
Hopefully
April 13, 2024 at 15:39
Hi thanks for all. My case is 45k I am current but didn’t receive the 2nl from Cameroom. You think I will have it with my family?
April 13, 2024 at 18:44
Maybe.
April 13, 2024 at 13:59
Hi Brit has 2nls been sent for nairobi june . AF54
April 13, 2024 at 14:02
I’m not 100% sure.
April 13, 2024 at 05:32
Hello,
I dont think if Dakar embrasse is working good.
M’y case goes crurent since March(2024af382..) but until now did not receive the 2NL. When I ask KCC they always reply my case is processed and alerady forwarded to the US embassy Dakar.
U wonder what is happening?
April 13, 2024 at 09:01
Dakar was not taken any cases in 2024. So it is heavily backlogged. You can only hope they “wake up” and start taking cases.
April 13, 2024 at 09:58
Hello Simon, my case is 2024AF546xx and filled my ds-260 on 22 may, are there chances of being interviewed in June?
April 13, 2024 at 10:07
It depends on which embassy you are assigned to.
April 13, 2024 at 19:42
If I move to Freetown or Liberia by transfering m’y case there can I get an appointement?
April 13, 2024 at 19:58
Maybe, but it’s not likely if you are already locked in to your embassy.
April 14, 2024 at 01:42
Hello Simon, my case is 2024AF546xx and filled my ds-260 on 22 may, are there chances of being interviewed in June? Nairobi Embassy
April 14, 2024 at 08:39
No – Maybe July.
April 12, 2024 at 11:43
Hi Brit, am 2024AF54XXX current in June. Am married but not legally separated. will the original marriage certificate be sufficient during the interview?
April 12, 2024 at 11:44
Yes.
April 12, 2024 at 05:25
Hi, Brit. I already submitted DS260 on July 2023 and I made mistakes on my information (I didn’t fill the places where I have lived before since the age of 16). Once KCC unlock my document does that affect on the timeline on receiving the 2NL? (My case number AS19*** is not current yet but if all the case goes current does that make cause to delay the process or order to receive an interview invitation??) Is it possible to correct the mistakes on the date of interview?
Also I was wondering why some people get their case processed even their numbers are not current yet. (Ex. Tokyo embassy A case number 16k-20k has already issued the visa)
Thank you in advance!
April 12, 2024 at 10:59
Unlocking doesn’t delay – but there is no need to unlock for the reason you mentioned. Don’t even mention it at the interview – there is no need.
The Tokyo case is an AF region case (2024AF18325)
April 11, 2024 at 13:38
Hi Simon, my number is EU24xxx but i live in UAE and my interview location should be in Abu Dhabi – do you see any chance
April 11, 2024 at 14:48
Yes.
April 11, 2024 at 09:44
Good evening Simon. Thank you for your availability and for everything you do.
My file number is AF97xxx. Is it possible for a large number like mine to receive a second letter one day?
April 11, 2024 at 10:00
My guess, no. But I can’t say its impossible.
April 11, 2024 at 06:09
Hi Brit, how much chance to get current and interview date for AS13***
April 11, 2024 at 06:48
Good chance – wait and see
April 11, 2024 at 18:05
Hi Brit, am dv-2024 winner with a case number AF72522* Liberia. With this slow pace, do you think I could be schedule for interview?
April 11, 2024 at 18:48
Maybe.
April 13, 2024 at 15:05
Hi Simon, My case number AS 15449, Do you think we still have a chance for interview? We transferred our case from Djibouti to Nepal. I wrote my question on your youtube live stream but no luck of answers . Thank you.
April 13, 2024 at 18:31
You might have a chance. You have to wait and see.
April 10, 2024 at 22:35
Hi Brit! I have case number 314xx, in EU Albania! Have I a chance? Thanks.
April 11, 2024 at 06:45
Maybe – you will have to wait and see.
April 10, 2024 at 18:22
Hi Simon, why does the Argentinian embassy have so few cases ? and the same in the process? as is the expected behavior for SA when cases reach up to 6000. Thank you!
April 10, 2024 at 19:42
There are only 127 selectees from Argentina which is around 60 cases, and only about half of those are current.
April 10, 2024 at 16:00
Yes. Tirana ( TIA ) embassy is doing really well and its up to 17995 with schedualing.
You can check this on your own on xarthisius’s site.
You have to be more proactive. Its about your life …not Simons. I don’t think that he have time to check this stuff for everyone and for every embassy.
April 10, 2024 at 16:55
Thanks Vlad, I had actually checked that one…
April 10, 2024 at 14:48
Hello Brit, im EU 20 K in Albania DS260 Completet in May do you think ,with i have the interview date in June?
April 10, 2024 at 15:22
Probably June, yes.
April 10, 2024 at 13:29
If you watched Simon’s videos for the past year, you know he provides some predictions. And I know its not easy when you are waiting to go current, ( me as well, I am EU22K, and still waiting, and not even sure if KCC are going to increase by 500 per month or 3000 per month ),but please stop asking what is his opinion or what are his predictions about EU25k or AS20k or Af67K. Nobody f…. knows.
I watched every live on youtube and almost every video that he have on the channel and i studied previous years VBs and xarthisius site and its a f… mess.
So PLEASE if you have some “real” questions ASK, but please do not SPAM with the same questions that he already answered 100 times.
I am apologizing to all about this comment, but please FIND some time and watch his videos, your ANSWERS are there.
April 10, 2024 at 11:40
Hi dear
AS14xxx from iran,,,location of embassy montreal???
How much chance do we have to get current and to get interview date?
April 10, 2024 at 11:49
You have some chance – I can’t calculate it in percentage terms…
April 10, 2024 at 11:05
Hi, Simon! Do you think that with such a pace the probability of “current” in Europe is higher now?
April 10, 2024 at 11:28
There is no logical mathematical reason why EU or any other region should go current.
However, the current pace of scheduling, if continued for the remaining 4 months of scheduling, would result in an underfilling of the quota. The Visa office might be planning to underfill the year (meaning not issue all the visas) or they might “correct” the underfilling. That correction could easily be done by increasing the VB numbers a little more, which would allow more interviews to be scheduled in embassies that have the capacity. So – there is no need to go current to fix the underfilling, but “who knows” what they might do.
April 10, 2024 at 09:49
Thanks Brits. Here in DRS, the friend of mine have AF35XXX still todate no 2NV..Mine is AF54XXX just get current in June. With this trend, do you think I will have a chance for getting a slot for interview for AF54XXX. What best I can do, should I transfer to other embassy? The other issue, what effect does hepatatis B have on visa interview?
April 10, 2024 at 09:55
1. You have a chance
2. No impact from Hep B.
April 10, 2024 at 09:18
I have EU28xxx… I hope that it will be released 🫣
April 10, 2024 at 05:48
Hello Simon! Thank you for your effort, it helps a lot not to go crazy!🤪 EU238**, russia🤦♀️ I’m getting worry after the last VB release. I was expecting more.. what do you think, would it be July or August?
The other question. In what order and by what criteria do they invite for an interview if the region gets current? By number or randomly? Do you expect EU to become current next month or in a month?
April 10, 2024 at 08:37
For the month – we’ll see.
For the order of scheduling, there is an AV queue and that is ordered by case number each time cases are added to the queue, but once added the queue order doesn’t change. What the video below to know more.

April 10, 2024 at 05:31
Hi Brit , what do you think for SA33XX?! Thanks in advance
April 10, 2024 at 08:30
With 3 VBs left we just have to hope…
April 10, 2024 at 03:40
Hi Simon
At this point I don’t think I should bother asking KCC to transfer my Application from Jerusalem to Amman as a Palestinian in the West Bank (I asked you about that yesterday) since my number is around AS20500
I think the only hope left now is that if they dramatically increase the visa bulletin, many Iranian cases would go into 221g and the rest of Asia will be able to use the visas for higher case numbers. But that’s only if they make a huge increase in the visa bulletin.
I’m going to visit the US this summer using my valid B1/2 visa. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for when I go through immigration since now I have a ds260 filed ?
April 10, 2024 at 08:26
The DS260 won’t cause a problem for entering the USA – it only impacts new NIV applications.
One note, if you are in the USA and your number goes current, then you might want to consider AOS.
April 10, 2024 at 09:13
If my number goes current, I will check if by then there is a way to get to Jerusalem, then I’d book a flight the next day and go home.
I prefer consular processing especially since I’ve received visas from Jerusalem Embassy before.
If I’m still unable to get to Jerusalem then I’d go through Adjustment Of Status. Keep in mind that I’m a single applicant with no derivatives and my applications has been processed.
I have even prepared certified copies of all my documents and a police certificate from the Palestinian Authority.
April 10, 2024 at 09:52
That’s fine, but if by the end of July you did not get a 2NL but were current, then you would have the option to submit an AOS application.
April 10, 2024 at 15:46
Would two months be long enough to process an Adjustment Of Status? I know that Jerusalem Embassy this year has sent 2nls only once a month and they have regularly sent them earlier than other embassies so I will know that I won’t be getting one before the beginning of August.
If I file for Adjustment of Status beforehand, does that mean KCC won’t send a 2nl ?
April 10, 2024 at 16:54
Look at this from the point of view of giving yourself a chance. Yes some cases have processed AOS with August filing date. It’s stressful, for sure, but it might work. So that can be your backup plan.
Ideally you tell KCC you are doing AOS early enough, but in your case you will try and keep both options open. I suggest you learn about AOS if you are going to be in the USA anyway.
April 10, 2024 at 00:51
Is the increase from 7100 to 8500 for Nepal a good one? My case number is AS12700 and do you think Nepal can reach that case number? Your response will be much appreciated.
April 10, 2024 at 08:14
Maybe.
April 9, 2024 at 20:10
Hi Brit , what do you think for EU26XXX?! Thanks in advance
April 9, 2024 at 21:42
Good chance.
April 9, 2024 at 19:23
algeria and morocco have switched their behaviors. what algeria did in 2023 is what morocco are doing this year and vice versa. It’s almost like a pattern. I can expect morocco’s last number to be 45,000 or 46000, while algeria might reach 63K. I could also be just speaking out my a$$.
April 9, 2024 at 21:42
Time will tell.
April 9, 2024 at 18:42
Hey
Af70k morocco is looking so far. What do you think
April 9, 2024 at 21:41
all you can do is wait and see.
April 9, 2024 at 18:24
Do you think a stretch to EU21200 for June interviews is possible (embassy: NPL)? Or they have to respect those cutoff number that stricly? Thanks
April 9, 2024 at 21:41
No.
April 21, 2024 at 11:39
On July’s VB
1.My case is 202rAS100xx, can I get current on july’ VB sir?
2.Which case do you think about AS bulltin will up to?
Best Regard
April 21, 2024 at 11:52
1. I expect so.
2. Let’s wait and see.
April 9, 2024 at 18:11
Hi Simon and thanks for sharing this.
EU34XXX, I guess this ship has sailed…
April 9, 2024 at 18:35
Mine is 34XXX too, let’s wait for July’s bulletin where everything will be determined
April 9, 2024 at 16:54
Hello Brit. Do you think I can feel safe with the number EU25xxx? another question: for 7 months after birth I had my mother’s surname (my parents weren’t married), but I forgot to add it in the ds-260 application. My birth certificate contains my mother’s surname and the annotations add that after 7 months the surname was changed to my father’s surname, which I still have today. Do you think it is worth unlocking the ds-260 to correct it, or can such issues be resolved during a conversation with the consul? It is clear that I had no bad intentions because as a 7-month-old child I couldn’t commit any crimes. I’m asking for advice because I don’t want to delay the process after unblocking the application, but I also don’t want my interview to end in failure for such a trivial reason. Thank you.
April 9, 2024 at 21:37
I would unlock and add that in the other names section.
As for the number – all you can do is wait and see.
