MR Semon, i won Dv 2018 and I try adding my husband because we just got marry.
when I click on the add applicant a box appear before us asking for my husband full name trying to provide it I revived a phone call and I when out to answer because of bad net work than when I return to proved my husband name I realized that my lil brother who was helping me because my husband was at work had put wrong name for my husband instill of ,Benja B. Johnson he put my husband father name Benjamin B. Johnson this is so frustrating and he (my lil brother) told me we can still click on add applicant and sent the rightful name for my husband and we did and it was accepted but my fare are : 1. Instill of adding one spouse I added two spouse name to my Ds 260 form ,but we only submitted the ds 260 form for my husband that we sent with his right name .
2. The other Ds 260 form with my husband father name we left it Incomplete and we plan to not touch it. will it be a problem time for our interview?
January 16, 2018 at 16:49
It is probably OK.
January 16, 2018 at 10:39
Hi dear simon
Our case number (CN) is AS201844xx and i am from Afghanistan. Do you think that we will recieve the 2nl this time?
Please share your point of view.
Thank you for helping us with the information.
January 16, 2018 at 16:47
Patience.
January 16, 2018 at 10:40
Mr. Brit what does it means by your case is Current?
January 16, 2018 at 16:47
You are eligible to be interviewed.
January 16, 2018 at 11:08
Thanks BritSimon
when I entered the dv lottery I entered my 2 children but because I didn’t have current photos to add I could not save and submit the form.my youngest child is in care in the UK and I don’t have contact with the foster carers and the older one is above 21 and lives on his own. I can’t get her picture so after trying several times with no luck I tried to save without children and it worked.after winning I completed the ds260 and added the children this time with no photo requirements there was no problem. now reading through your advise I realise I have no chance. do you think I should go for the interview and explain my csse or give up now. my interview is next month. I’m not sure what to do. I’m in Uganda and will need police certificate from the UK plus medical so the bill goes up if it is an automatic refusal I’m tempted to let it pass but the problem will persist even when I try again next year. .thanks again for your advice
January 16, 2018 at 16:46
There is no point continuing, it would simply be a waste of time and money.
January 16, 2018 at 11:38
Hey Simon have u seen such delay on VB release?
January 16, 2018 at 12:01
It was Martin Luther day in USA yesterday which is a holiday so it will get posted today.

January 16, 2018 at 17:18
Simon you are cool guy. you gave positive feel to us
January 16, 2018 at 12:31
Bad luck all 2018 and later dv winners as you know Pre. Trum order the new banning and offically closed any dv lottery program since Jan, 2018.
January 16, 2018 at 12:44
Stop spreading fake stories because you really don’t know what you talk about. First of all learn English THEN try and type something here. Trump didn’t do anything about dv lottery and if he does it surely WON’T AFFECT DV2018 because every bill applies on the first day of the first fiscal year that begins after the enactment of the bill which is October 2018!
January 16, 2018 at 16:43
Idiotic nonsense.

January 16, 2018 at 13:08
Hi,
1-Do all original documents need to be presented with notary-certified copies or only the birth and marriage certificates?
2-If the original documents are being translated, do we still need to provide a certified copy along or are the translations enough to prove authenticity?
Thank you very much indeed for your precious assistance.
January 16, 2018 at 20:50
Hi,
Any feedback available for the above questions please? Thanks.
January 16, 2018 at 21:00
1. Varies by country.
2. You need a copy – again – country procedures vary.
Please check the instructions and also country specific instructions.

January 16, 2018 at 13:39
Hi sir Brit if I am currently studying in the senior High School and haven’t completed yet my I be able to qualified to get the visa if I won? Or I choose on the DS260 that I want go and continue my education level in US? Am from Ghana
January 16, 2018 at 16:41
“If you won”. Your chance of winning is once every 200 to 300 years. If you win, you can think about that then.
January 16, 2018 at 13:58
Hello Sir! I hope you are well.
I have two questions. Soon I have interview in February and it would be very kind if you were answer me.
1. It is about medical certificate. For 22 years I have lived in a country which made vaccines in school or in hospital but we did not get any certificate. ( I mean in some countries the have med book from childhood the will write every vaccines or when they will come to doctor unfortunately we did not have it in our country) Today I called there wanted to come for med certificate the ask be to bring certificate of vaccinations(med book)
2. When I filled DV-260 I have give the address of sponsor who doesn’t want to be my sponsor now. But I have find another one who will be my sponsor now his living in another state of USA . Should I write to Kentucky that I’m going to change my sponsor or I should say it in during interview show the afadovit of support ?
Thank you very much.
January 16, 2018 at 16:40
1. The physician will decide what vaccinations are missing.
2. You cannot alter the DS260 now, so change that at the interview.
January 16, 2018 at 14:04
Hi simon
Our case number (CN) is 2018AS44XX and I am from Afghanistan.
Do you think we will get our 2nl letter this time?
Please share your point of view.
Thanks simon for all the hard working day and nights.
January 16, 2018 at 14:40
Most likely Yes, you should be receiving your 2NL this month, ofcourse If you submitted your DS260 early enough and KCC had enough time to process it.
January 16, 2018 at 15:34
We submitted it in early July 2017.
Do you think its enough time for processing ??
January 16, 2018 at 15:48
I think It should be enough..
January 16, 2018 at 15:16
How much risk to be out of luck it will be for 2018 winners in case the DV lottery is stoped this year?
January 16, 2018 at 16:37
ZERO PERCENT!
January 16, 2018 at 15:24
Hello sir, when visa bulletin ill be relished ?
January 16, 2018 at 16:36
Anytime it is released, some will relish it, others will be sad.
https://britsimonsays.com/why-is-the-vb-late/
January 16, 2018 at 17:31
😀 I hope we all will relish that moment
January 16, 2018 at 17:48
The VB is up! For EU 13800. Any thoughts?
January 16, 2018 at 18:10
It makes sense. The acceleration is starting as I thought. I would have preferred 14000 – but this is fine.
January 16, 2018 at 15:40
Hi , i resubmitted my ds260 last month for very crucial update. My cn 33xxx , do i get a delay with my interview date in my current month because of the resubmission? Sorry if you mention this info before i couldnt find On the forum though. Thnks!
January 16, 2018 at 16:36
No delay.
January 16, 2018 at 16:42
Hi Simon,
I am an Australian DV winner. I have prepared all of my documents but have noticed a lot of people mentioning their ‘host’ in the united states. Is this referring to either the affidavit from a US backer to prove financial independence or the address you put down to have your green card sent to? Or is it something else I have missed?
Thanks in advance.
January 16, 2018 at 16:58
They are talking about a host as a way to meet the financial requirements – “public charge”.
If you interview in Sydney, that is rarely even discussed since you Aussies have plenty of dingo dollars.
January 16, 2018 at 17:01
Ok great thank you for clarifying. Ill make sure I take ample of dingo dollars to the interview
January 16, 2018 at 17:01
🙂
January 16, 2018 at 17:38
When would be the next Dv lottery program
January 16, 2018 at 18:11
The next entry period would be in October if the program is not cancelled.
January 16, 2018 at 17:36
Simon. When the next Dv program wil start again?
January 16, 2018 at 17:19
Thanks very much Mr.Brit.
January 16, 2018 at 17:25
Dear BritSimon, do Dv Lottery winners from,Liberia need to provide someone to sent them affidavit of support? or it is ok to provide only your host name on the DS 260?
January 16, 2018 at 18:11
I don’t know. An I-134 is always safest.
January 16, 2018 at 18:03
Visa bulletin for march is resdy .
January 16, 2018 at 19:14
Hiii brit first of all i would like to thank you for the information you r providing for people like me with a few knowledge about DV process,
I have one question i have my interview and and they told me congratulation, yeyyyy,so what i want to ask is after the interview haw could you check your status,or is it over that i have to just wait for my visa
January 16, 2018 at 19:23
Normally you just wait a week or two.
January 16, 2018 at 20:29
Hi Simon,
My number is current as of today’s bulletin.
When I receive my 2NL and interview date for March, is it possible to contact the embassy to bring the interview closer?
I.e. given my number is current and I have all my docs together and an appointment for the medical, if the embassy has a slot in February instead of March could I do that instead?
Thanks
January 16, 2018 at 20:31
No. You are not entitled to that until March.
January 16, 2018 at 20:35
Got it, thanks!
January 16, 2018 at 20:43
Hi Simon,
Do they do drugs testing as part of the medical examinaton?
January 16, 2018 at 21:01
Sometimes. But they generally are not worried about light drug use since that is not a contagious disease.
January 16, 2018 at 23:40
Is it more common in some countries and not in others? I’m asking specifically in relation to a case being processed through Montreal
January 16, 2018 at 23:52
I don’t have statistics on that. But the medical has two concerns.
1. Do you have any diseases that will be bad for Americans.
2. Do you have any health concerns that might cause you to become a public charge.
Drug use is not relevant to point 1 but could be to point 2 depending on the drug used and level of use.
January 16, 2018 at 21:04
Hello Brit!
Sponsor Is filing the affidavit of Support, should he somewhere to confirm this or put it on the register or to do something then send to me later?
January 16, 2018 at 21:06
He sends it to you (along with proof of income etc)
January 16, 2018 at 21:21
Hello sir, is 17700 for AF region what you had in mind for the march VB? I mean is the progression OK?
January 16, 2018 at 21:30
It’s fine.
January 16, 2018 at 21:56
Ok sir. Still hanging on at af467**. I really appreciate your assistance. Thank you.
January 17, 2018 at 11:07
Hang on bro…which country you from?
January 16, 2018 at 21:25
Thank you mr simon for you hard work , as you asked before egyptian winners to contact with you to make anaylsis for them cases we already have contacted with many egyptian winners in wattsup and fb messanger winners chat groups so we collected some numbers may be help you in your anaylsis
9xxx ( 7 cases ) , 10xxx (8 cases) , 11xxx (6 cases) , 12xxx ( 4 cases) , 13xxx ( 7 cases) , 14xxc (9 cases) , 15xxx (5 cases), 16xxx (10 cases), 17xxx (11 cases) , 18xxx (14 cases) , 19xxx (7 cases), 20xxx (4 cases), 21xxx (10 cases), 22xxx (3 cases), 24xxx ( 2 cases) , 27xxx (1 case) , 29xxx (2 cases), 30xxx ( 1 case), 39xxx (1 case) , 47xxx ( 2 cases) , 48xxx ( 1 case)
The highest case number 101xxx
January 16, 2018 at 22:18
OK so first of all we need to eliminate some outliers. The 101XXX is nonsense. There is no such number.
Looking at your data it is likely the Egypt selectee cutoff is around 22k to 24k. The case numbers above might be outliers (which does happen sometimes, even after a limit was applied) or simple misunderstanding. Often people say they are in Egypt when they actually charged to some other country. We can use some of the lessons learned from the German tank problem (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_tank_problem), and we seem to see cases fall off in frequency after 22XXX.
There is a corresponding drop in density at around 22000 – so perhaps that is Egypt, but there is also another drop at about 24000.
In reality, we can’t get certainty from these numbers where the draw limit was applied. We can assume that Egypt numbers in the low 21/22 range have some risk, but I can’t get closer than that.
January 16, 2018 at 21:47
Hello Simon,
I’m a DV2018 Visa Holder, but I didn’t enter in USA yet. I’m unclear when start the first day of fiscal year 2018 (is it 1 October 2017)? Please can me explain, what mean the paragraph below?? English is not my native language, and I’m unclear in this point.
Bill S.2082
Effective date of the Bill (If Congress will terminate DV program)
The amendments made by this section shall take effect on the first day of the first fiscal year beginning on or after the date of the enactment of this Act…
Do I have any risk, to do not enter in US, despite my valid DV Visa, IF the Congress will approve the Termination of DV program?
Thanks a lot, and Sorry for my Ignorance in the legal field
January 16, 2018 at 22:23
You have NO RISK.
January 16, 2018 at 22:06
halo britsimon my question is could I go to the embassy instead of email them to request reshedule my interview date? is it possible to do that?
January 16, 2018 at 22:21
You have a skill for asking the silliest questions.
Answer for this one is – I don’t know – try it.
January 16, 2018 at 22:31
Thanks for your cooperation,
I passed the interview on the 20thDec17 then i submit a missing document on the 2ndJan18 and every thing is ok but may visa status still Ready, is it normal? please advise
January 16, 2018 at 23:28
It’s “normal” in your case. You just have to wait.
January 16, 2018 at 22:56
Hello Brit,
Please with the new release of the march bulletin and the ceac data analysis with holes, can you help me do a rough prediction of the cutoffs for the next three months just to help me understand your analysis better.thanks
January 16, 2018 at 23:32
You have the data. Take a try.
January 16, 2018 at 23:31
Hi Simon,
I currently reside in the US on an H1-B Visa, and have filled out the DS-260 with my U.S. address as my current residence. I received an email from KCC stating that I have elected to go through AoS, but I would like to change to Consular Processing. It seems that AoS was automatically selected based on my current address being in the U.S. –
do I need to change my current residence in my DS-260 to an address in my home country to change back to Consular Processing? I worry this will be considered lying on my application, since I have lived in the U.S. for 6 years.
Any advise is highly appreciated!
January 16, 2018 at 23:35
Contact KCC and ask the to change your case to CP. They will ask where you want to be interviewed – normally your home country – and they will tell you what to do.
January 17, 2018 at 03:01

January 17, 2018 at 05:26
Hi Brit when does the vb of march 2018 publish?
January 17, 2018 at 05:47
It was published today. The next one will be in about 1 month.
January 17, 2018 at 05:42
Hi mate,
Thanks again for all your help for us on here. I am an Australian DV winner with my number today being called for a March interview. I have a passport with about 14 months on it which I know is enough for the visa but i have realised it will be a pain to renew in the US if i am not near an Australian consulate and would like to renew it before i go. Is this possible, will it effect anything with my ds260 if i renew it before the interview (I also have previous US student visas in my current passport)? I have read that if approved they will insert the visa inside my passport meaning it probably wouldn’t be possible to renew it after the interview?
January 17, 2018 at 05:46
Once you have entered the USA your visa in your passport will be endorsed. That is only useful before you get the real Green Card. If you need to, you can carry new and old passports.
January 17, 2018 at 08:45
Hi, i have a court record which i found guilty for traffic accident with minor injury and i only paid a fine for punishment (no jail, minor injury) it list in my court record so i put it on the DS 260.
Is this leads to a certain refusal in my interview or do they just ignore the records with minor accidents? Should i keep process with DV or stop? Your precious opinions would be appreciated. Thank you!
January 17, 2018 at 14:46
No problem.
January 17, 2018 at 09:43
Hi brit when you have conviction and have been rehabilitated do we need to get waiver from department of homeland security before the interview.
January 17, 2018 at 14:47
No. If the CO needs a waiver they will tell you.
January 17, 2018 at 09:45
hello SIMON

5) with the case number 2018AF33XXX, can my sponsor sign the documents now?
January 17, 2018 at 14:50
1. No specified validity. But it should be recent.
2. 1040/W2/Payslips/Photo ID
3. Download etc
4. Google it
5. Too early.
January 17, 2018 at 10:24
Brit hi, what are this health concerns that can make one a public charge ?
January 17, 2018 at 14:54
I can’t imagine all the reasons.
January 17, 2018 at 10:28

No
January 17, 2018 at 15:28
Hi Mr Brit I played the lottery before having my high school certificate. I obtained my exams this 2017 and the certificates are not yet available. I have but my result slip. Does it hinder me from obtaining a visa at the interview?
January 17, 2018 at 15:32
Technically no – but they may want the certificate.
January 17, 2018 at 15:35
Hello Mr Brit , I obtain my high school certificate this 2017 and also was selected this may 2017 for the 2018dv. Is it possible that I obtain a visa with my result slip because the certificates are not yet available
January 17, 2018 at 17:41
Possibly.
January 17, 2018 at 16:23
Hi Brit.
During the medical visit, have you already heard that this already happened that the doctor check the vaccine using blood test?
January 17, 2018 at 17:41
I haven’t heard that.
January 17, 2018 at 17:01
Hi sir, is it a must to get an affidavit of support? Because when I filled the ds260 form they only asked the name and address of the person to receive me in the US. I don’t have anything like affidavit of support.
January 17, 2018 at 17:40

January 17, 2018 at 18:13
Hello Brit.
I have a few questions for you.
I completed and send DS-260. After that, I sold my apartment and moved in rent apartment to wait for my interview in the embassy. My company was merged with different companies and changed the name. Also, I made a decision to change state where I want to live. What do you think I need to unblock my DS-260 for the fix or I can say about it in the interview? Thanks a lot. Have a nice day!
January 17, 2018 at 18:19
Nothing you mention is a big problem, but if you get a chance to update your DS260, do so.
January 17, 2018 at 18:57
Hello sir,
It’s been 4 months I’ve attended the interview. And still I haven’t got a single clue.can u please tell me approximately how long will it take for them to reply?
January 17, 2018 at 19:12
I assume you have checked your case on CEAC and found that you are on AP. AP times vary greatly – I cannot predict the time they will take.
January 18, 2018 at 03:11
