Hi Brit. I am a 2019 selectee I can login with my case # via
https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx
but not the status check page at:
https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx
Is this because its not past Jan 01 2019 ?
Secondly – Where do I find the DS-260 confirmation page?
December 1, 2018 at 23:39
Correct, the tracker will not have 2019 cases until January.
The ds260 conf page is available as the last page when you review the ds260.

I have no idea. Ask USCIS.
December 2, 2018 at 18:29
Dear Bri,
What advise can you give to someone who is current for February and will get married the same February probably before his interview but doesn’t want to move to the US immediately with his wife wants her to come after sometimes more than a year .Does he have to unlock the form if he has not received the appointment? Or he can just mentioned her during the interview with a marriage certificate as proof.
December 2, 2018 at 22:26
I have a FAQ entry on that subject. Please read it.

You cannot use the tracker as no DV2019 case is loaded in the system thus far.
You have to be patient.
December 2, 2018 at 20:52
Hi sir, Can you leave the US and ask for Natulization or is it 5 years without leaving the US?
December 2, 2018 at 22:28
It is based on continuous residence in the USA – but anyway – I only answer DV lottery questions.

Brit, how long it takes KCC to respond your unlocking request? because i m changing my interview location now.
December 3, 2018 at 15:06

December 4, 2018 at 00:38
Hello my mother won dvlottery so I am going under her, I am 18 years. The rest of my family is staying only us two have applied to go forward with receiving the green card, but she may be changing her mind about living America. If she continues the process to receive our green card and we go to America if she leaves after short time will I lose mine as well, My mother said to me she will stay for a while if it means I can keep my green card.
December 4, 2018 at 01:01
No she would not have to stay. Once you both enter, she could leave and your GC does not depend on her.
December 4, 2018 at 00:38
Hi Simon,
I entered the US with my DV visa that I won in 2018 and I have been here for 2 weeks. When I paid the green card fee, I updated my address in the US to deliver my card. My question is with regards to the SSN. I don’t recall what I ticked on my DS260 and I don’t have a copy of the application. What are my next steps to get a SSN for myself and my family (wife and child)? Should I just wait or is there anything else I should be doing? We are leaving the US tomorrow.
Thank you,
December 4, 2018 at 01:04
You could have gone to the SSA to check, but since you are leaving tomorrow you have left that too late. So – just see if the SSN is sent automatically.
December 4, 2018 at 04:44
Thanks. Will it be sent to the address I mentioned on USCIS website or the DS260 application?
And what if I don’t get it? Any recommendation on what to do next? My next planned visit will be in about 10 months time.
December 4, 2018 at 06:09
DS260.
If you don’t get it you will apply at the SSA office.
December 4, 2018 at 06:11
I won the 2019 dv lottery. I am in the US and I would like to adjust my status. The issue is that my case number is too high. Is there a cut off for status adjustment?
December 4, 2018 at 15:27
No, but high numbers have a more stressful experience. You should know two things that many lawyers won’t know.
1. DV AOS process is faster than other types of AOS.
2. DV AOS cases can file early (as soon as they are announced as current)
More AOS info here:

December 4, 2018 at 11:07
HI im from Northern Ireland I did my GCSE’S, then went to North West Regional College for 2 years and receiving a NVQ lvl2 diploma for joinery. Does this count as a equivalent to a High School degree? If not will doing a 3rd year and receiving a NVQ lvl3 diploma work? Just wondering if I can even qualify to enter dvlottery in the future.
December 4, 2018 at 15:39
They don’t accept vocational training as being qualifying education, so no, you cannot qualify, even with the third year.
December 4, 2018 at 13:28

Hi simon my friend was interviewed today at Ghana embassy with 6 passes in wassce and was denied on the grounds education.is there any changes on the qualifications (education) anyway he didn’t passmaths.thanks for ur time.
December 4, 2018 at 15:41
So he did not pass maths, which they probably consider as a “core” subject. I don’t know the specifics for Ghana, your friend should have asked.
December 4, 2018 at 17:51
so the success of mathematics is essential on the note statements for the visa?
December 4, 2018 at 20:09
It varies by embassy, but it would seem so in this case – right?
December 4, 2018 at 18:51
Can you mail me. Am also in ghana

December 4, 2018 at 16:29
Hi Simon,
Police Records should have Apostille in case these are from a different country you would be interviewed? For example i will be Interviewed in Italy and i Need Police Records from France and Italy, should habe both Apostille? Or only the France one? Or i don’t need any Apostille?
December 4, 2018 at 20:06
I can’t answer that – it depends on document standards where you will interview AND where the documents are from. Follow the official instructions relevant to your situation.
December 4, 2018 at 22:14
Thanks for your time!
December 4, 2018 at 18:09

December 5, 2018 at 16:46
subject :
Request to change an interview location
name : **
case : **
dob : **
Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to change an interview location from Guangzhou china to ****. I’ve changed my current address on DS 260.
The reason is due to my china residence permit period coming to an end, so in the future it would be complicated having my interview here in China.
I’m sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.
Thank you!
Have a great day.
THIS IS LEGIT or not brit?
December 5, 2018 at 20:20
It’s fine.
December 5, 2018 at 12:51
Hi Sir
2019 Winner
Case #: 2019as00006xxxx
I applied to Canada tourism visa, most probably i will get it.

December 5, 2018 at 18:35
None.
December 5, 2018 at 14:12
Hi. I’m an algerian winner 18yo, i wanna apply for a US student exchange that will occur next juin… Will that affect my dv. Case number 43xxx
December 5, 2018 at 20:17
Possibly. You will need to consider the timing of your interview if you will be abroad.
December 5, 2018 at 18:40
Greetings sir,am here again for clearification,my country of birth makes me eligible but my derivatives i.e(husband) is from a ban country which is Nigeria. Is there any hope getting visa.well appreciated sir
December 5, 2018 at 20:26
Nigeria is not affected by the travel ban, so you are misusing that term.
People from Nigeria cannot enter based on their country, but they can (as in your case) be derivatives. If you have been selected you are fine.
December 5, 2018 at 22:54
Well appreciated sir
December 6, 2018 at 07:53
Hello Brit I sent kcc my form without My passport information as it isn’t ready at that time. Was it a mistake? Should I unlock my form?
December 6, 2018 at 15:24
I already answered you.
December 6, 2018 at 09:38
Hi Simon,
Hope all is fine, I have a simple question, I participated in DV 2020 lottery and I added my full data, but I have a question here, I was born in Libya which is eligible, but my nationality is Egyptian and I live in Egypt (which is also an eligible country), so, in the question in the DV application I wrote that the country of birth is Libya, but I chose the country of eligible Egypt (which is my spouse country of birth by the way). Is this considered something wrong in the application so I might not be accepted or disqualified?
December 6, 2018 at 15:29
It will be OK.
December 6, 2018 at 10:12
hi brit
Excuse me again to ask you one thing.
i am currently working in a company with a renewable two-year contract that will end the end of january 2019. and to renew the contract we have to do it a month before.
knowing that my case number is 2019AF106xx is that I sent the requested documents to kcc on november 6, 2018 and i received confirmation from kcc
my question is:
1- Will the appointment take place January or February or? …
thank you very much for answering me to help me decide for my work.
December 6, 2018 at 15:30
All January interviews are scheduled. So – other than that I cannot say whether it will be February or later.
December 6, 2018 at 13:49
Mugis
Hi Mr. Brit
I have submitted my ds 260form. in the form I filled my high school as diploma instead of degree, my questions are 1. Should I unlock and correct it 2. Or I should leave it and explain during interview. My cn 2019af000196##
From ghana. Thank you.
December 6, 2018 at 15:37
Your DS260 should be accurate!
December 6, 2018 at 17:00
wait what? What is the difference between degree and diploma?
i knew the difference between diploma and certificate, but i think we called it highschool diploma in Indonesia instead of degree, so i chose diploma. degree it’s only for college/university level right? bachelor degree, Master degree. if you only study 2 years instead of 4 years in college, you get diploma.
daammmn should i unlock ds.260 again brit?
December 6, 2018 at 17:13
Just Searched on google.
High School Degree or High School Diploma?
What is the difference between degree vs. diploma in a high school setting?
As I mentioned above, the proper term for the award granted after the graduation of high school is diploma.
A degree is earned upon the graduation of college. A diploma is earned after the graduation of high school.
so What Do you think brit? should i leave it with highschool diploma or unlock again? i had bachelor degree, i studied full 12 years in private highschool with government standard education not school own material education
December 6, 2018 at 19:12
The terms vary by country. So do the requirements. Regardless of what it is called – check to see what you have meets the requirements.
December 6, 2018 at 14:29
Hi Brit,
My birth certificate was issued almost 18 years after I was born. can that cause problems during my visa interview?
December 6, 2018 at 15:39
How can I know? You don’t even tell me the country, but I don’t know procedures in every country as to whether that is normal or not.
December 7, 2018 at 19:38
The country is Cameroon sir and all my documents and school certificates and everything else has thesame date of birth. the birth certificate produced at birth got missing so we made a new one following all legal procedures. Can this cause a problem during visa interview?
December 7, 2018 at 20:02
I already answered.
December 6, 2018 at 15:46
excuse me again mr brit
do you have an idea, when kcc will start sending February appointments
thank you so much
December 6, 2018 at 19:18
Same as EVERY. SINGLE. MONTH.
December 6, 2018 at 16:47
Thanks to God Almighty and Brit, this morning me and my entire family got approved in Accra against all the odds. I will share my experience with everyone here to get others encouraged. But whatever you do please listen to BRIT SIMON, he knows what he’s about. If you believe in a God or some faith, stick to it and keep praying for that miracle.
We got that golden ticket and a “WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES” remark from our CO.
Wish ya’ll the best especially my Ghanaian brothers and sisters, Cheers everyone!
December 6, 2018 at 16:50
Thank you for your inquiry.
Based on the information you have provided, your interview location has been changed from Guangzhou to ***. The new interview location will not appear on your DS-260, but will be used by KCC for scheduling purposes. When we have scheduled your interview, you will be required to log into the Entrant Status Check (ESC) to view your appointment notification. At that time, please verify that your appointment is scheduled for the correct post.
SO,
Can i make sure NOW if KCC has informed New location to New embassy? If i send New embassy an email, will they know about my case? or i need to wait to get scheduled first and Ask the New embassy whether they received my case or not
December 6, 2018 at 19:16
The embassy won’t know anything about you until your interview is scheduled.
December 6, 2018 at 19:10
Dear sir;
My case no is 2019AS37xx , eligible country Kuwait
1- At the time of the interview they looking how many visas are available for kuwait or for Asia?
2-If my interview was in Egypt, is that could cause a delay for issuing the visa?
I am worry because I found that the number of visas available for kuwait are 81 visa!
December 6, 2018 at 19:24
hi brit: can the interview be scheduled and I do not yet receive the e-mail?
December 6, 2018 at 19:44
You can miss the email. Read the FAQ!
December 6, 2018 at 22:47
Hi Brit,
I am a selectee and thus the principal applicant. During the application period, my wife was pregnant and gave birth after the closure of the application. How do I include my child?
Secondly is it permissible to leave behind my dependents that is wife and 2 kids for later processing?
Thirdly our passports are not yet ready, can we go ahead with the DS260 processing while awaiting them?
December 7, 2018 at 06:26
1. Please read the FAQ about that. Essentially you just add the child to your DS260, and maybe create a DS260 for the child if he/she is emigrating.
2. Yes
3. Yes
December 7, 2018 at 04:01
Hi Brit, it will take 3 weeks to get the police clearance report. will it be a problem
December 7, 2018 at 06:27
You can use some common sense…
December 7, 2018 at 07:45
I didnt get you.. Please help Brit. altogether we will have to wait 3 weeks to submit the documents. that is why i asked. kindly advise
December 7, 2018 at 14:43

Hello Mr. Brit Thank u very much for all the help u have been giving us. 6th dec we were approved of our visas at Accra embassy.A family of five. The good Lord will bless u in abundance.Thank u
December 7, 2018 at 11:36
Hello Mr. Brit Thank u very much for all the help u have been giving us from the beginning, but I’ve confused with my sponsure. my sponsore finally refused to welcoming the in USA. what do you advise me bro.? thank you for your heartly help.
December 7, 2018 at 14:52
U have no suggestions about that. You need a sensible plan.
December 7, 2018 at 14:44
1. I recently changed my mother’s birth certificate so just her Surnames at Birth is a little changed (one letter is wrong), it was necessary – shoud I ask KCC to open my DS260… or it’s not such a big mistake?
2. there is a ques. in DS260 Have you ever served in the military? i am Sergeant in reserve – I did just 3 months to the military department at the university. so what I have to answer Y or N … beacause it was not a real millitary service..(Persons who have served in the military forces of any country must submit a copy of their military record) I am confused…
