Dear Sir/Madam,
I need help with my DS260 application. I think I made a mistake. myself and my spouse been selected on dv lottery. My spouse in New Zealander and I am currently holding New Zealand passport and previously Nepalese passport which is cancelled now. 12 years back I applied for F1visa with my Nepal passport to USA and got refused under 214b(potential immigrant). I no longer hold that passport but on ds260 I have put “NO” on previous USA visa refusal Is that ok or do I need to correct at the time of interview Please advise.
email – [email protected]
June 10, 2019 at 22:44
You need to unlock and correct the DS260.
June 10, 2019 at 22:51
Thanks for the reply Brit, I could not unlock as our interview is scheduled next month in Auckland USA consulate and visa center asked me to contact the consulate. Can I correct it with the case officer at the time of interview. Do you think it would be an issue. Awaiting for reply
June 10, 2019 at 23:12
So the CO will tell you if it is a problem. Probably not as long as they don’t think you were trying to conceal something.
June 10, 2019 at 23:51
Thanks for the reply Brit. Fingers crossed it should be ok for me to correct at the interview. How do I explain the situation to CO, I mean do I need to inform the CO before interview begins or I need to inform in the middle of the interview. Please advice
June 10, 2019 at 23:53
That’s up to you.
June 10, 2019 at 22:59
Dear brit, when i was filling the ds-260 form and precisely at the question which says : Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?
I answered : “No”. & my explain was : “This documention is not available in egypt”.
But after i’ve submitted the application, i heard from some people that we’re gonna recieve these vaccinations at the medical check-up and the best explain for this question is to say : “At the visa interview i will have all the vaccinations that the panel physician recommends”.
So my question for you now is : should i conatct KCC to open for me the ds-260 form again and edit this mistake or it’s not the big deal which requires the ds-260 form to be opened again?
& btw, what is the best answer for this question?
June 10, 2019 at 23:13
Your answer is OK. Relax.
June 11, 2019 at 02:49
Hi,sir.
My husband is an applicant. He is now holding student visa. He would like to do the AOS here,in usa. As his spouse, Is it possible for him to apply me as dv2 or we need to go back to my hometown for regular process? I’m holding student visa as well. Our status is valid.
Thank you.
June 11, 2019 at 12:34
You can both adjust.
All the info you need is here:

June 12, 2019 at 03:55
Hi everyone, my case number is 2019AFxxxxx
I am scheduled for interview on July first. I got the following email from the embassy
“We would like to ask you to mail us the following documents for your interview.
All information is subject to confirmation. Thank you.
Original proof of education higher than high school (high school diploma, school transcripts, etc) or evidence of work experience
Original Birth Certificate for you
Original Marriage certificate
Copy of child’s US birth certificate/valid US passport
Original previous passport(s)
Original evidence of military records, if any
Original criminal/prison/court records, if applicable
Copy of resident card and current passport bio page
Statement explaining what brought you to Japan
Two photos with white background taken within last six months (No eye glasses)
English translation to any of the documents above if the original documents are not in English must be attached.
The requested original documents will be retained in your file. You do not need to obtain another copy for the visa interview, unless there were amendments made after submission, or request made by this office to obtain another copy.”
1- By original documents do they mean the actual document for example my graduation certificates the ones I got from university at my graduation or certified original copies.
2- I obtained my police certificates in January should I get new ones the information on the website, from KCC, and from the embassy contradict. In case I need new ones should I get new translations too?
3- Is there a deadline to mail the documents to the embassy, I can mail them only one week before my interview because I need to travel back to my country to get some of them. Would that be ok?
Infinite thanks for tour help. Sorry for the lengthy comment.
June 12, 2019 at 19:31
1. When they say original – it means the original documents OR an official replacement from the issuing authority.
2. That is what I would recommend (new ones) – and obviously that would need a new translation. BUT you might be OK without replacing them.
3. I don’t know.
June 12, 2019 at 20:50
Thanks a lot for your prompt reply.
June 11, 2019 at 06:11
Hi Brit, thank you for the journey you have moved with us through this process. My Interview is scheduled for next week, Please help me address this. I received two affidavits one from my Brother In law, a US citizen and whose address I included in the DS260 and the second one from a Childhood friend also a US Citizen. My In law had sponsored another relative two years ago. Is it a problem if I submit both Affidavits or mention that I have a second Affidavit for transparency?
June 11, 2019 at 12:51
They will only want one. It is not a problem to have a backup.
June 11, 2019 at 06:35
Does sending the D’s 260 fast for higher case numbers make the interview early than the lower case numbers who submitted later
June 11, 2019 at 12:50
No. That is one of the reasons I tell people to not submit fast if your case number is high.
June 11, 2019 at 13:17
But if the case number is higher and the applicant submits DS-260 later, what is the benefit in this case?
June 11, 2019 at 13:26
1. Not declaring immigrant intent when the case doesn’t get a chance.
2. Rushing to submit a DS260 early and making lots of mistakes that need correction.
3. Needing to correct info due to normal life changes.
June 12, 2019 at 02:04
If we send DS-260 form early for high case number, will be a problem?
June 12, 2019 at 22:22
Not a problem for the DV case., but it can represent a problem if you did not get the DV Green Card and later needed a non immigrant visa.
June 11, 2019 at 09:19
I’m in USA holding F1 visa. I have police record ,in my country, about having drugs for ten years. Since my case has been closed, i did not provide that fact while i was applying for student visa because i thought i did not matter. So,do i need to provide that in DS260? I was worried about it. I’m not decided whether to go to interview in my country or do AOS in USA. Thank you, Sir.
June 11, 2019 at 12:59
You were already foolish to lie in your student visa application. You would be an idiot to lie in your DS260. If you adjust status, police reports are not required BUT honesty is required.
June 11, 2019 at 09:27
hi brit,
my CN is 2020AF00011***

1.can i use the old passport to fill while i await the new one
2.whe should i expect an interview
June 11, 2019 at 13:01
1. Yes.
2. Late 2019 or early 2020
June 11, 2019 at 11:06
Hello Brit,
Need to check below Quire.
1. Is Work Experience (5 Year with SPV Range # 7) will take place of Education.
2. When is the right time to complete DS260 for the CS 2020AS00010***
3. What are the chance of approving visa with Work Experience.
June 11, 2019 at 13:07
1 & 3 https://britsimonsays.com/education-or-work-experience-qualifying-for-the-dv-lottery/
2. There is no “right time” but you could delay submission for a few months with no affect.
June 11, 2019 at 11:31
Hi Simon
I had submitted the documents for 12 May. Still now i did not recieve any answer. I sent them an email for 10 days before, they said to me wait. My tolerance is low now, do you think they can give me an answer for the 14 or 15 June?
Thank you.
June 11, 2019 at 13:08
I don’t know.
June 11, 2019 at 13:21
I am respectful of your time! I don’t believe I was specific in my enquiry last time (all I remember was I did not get an answer that properly addressed the question). If you don’t know, its perfectly ok just to tell me you don’t know. Also I had other new questions this time regarding my Selectee’s savings as to whether the amount plus my I-34 would create a greater approval chance because I don’t know how much they require from him. $10K, $20k…? I think his balance now is $16K.
It is not at all clear about this Gross or Adjusted Gross in the I-34 – or anywhere for that matter. We’re just trying to find out the most information we can so that he is fully armed when he goes for the Interview. That’s all.
June 11, 2019 at 13:31
You asked a NUMBER of times and I answered. I also told you to read the FAQ or the link below.
https://britsimonsays.com/all-about-public-charge-affidavit-of-support-i-134/
Ultimately, use some common sense, and take a conservative approach.
June 11, 2019 at 11:57
hey
I once filled the ds 260 form for dv 2016 as derivatives, but they didn’t reply us for further documentations or even schedule us for an interview, my question is those informations i provided on that ds 260 form by then would they in any means affect me, if i decide to change some information i previously provided? because am now a winner for dv2020.
June 11, 2019 at 13:09
Do you mean you lied before or you plan to lie now? Obviously lying is always a bad idea.
June 11, 2019 at 13:30
hehehe. They are becoming smarter as days go by and by. do not try
June 11, 2019 at 13:17
Hi
My Son 18-years old is a US citizen, I did’t list him in my lottery application request as it is an optional. Is it optional too to mention him in my own DS260 or it is mandatory?
June 11, 2019 at 13:27
You can mention him – just follow the DS260 instructions.
June 11, 2019 at 13:48
Is it mandatory to mention him? I was planning not to mention him
June 11, 2019 at 13:58
Read and Follow instructions.
June 11, 2019 at 14:38
Thanks Simon and I appreciate your patience. Which instructions are helpful to answer this question? I looked into the DS260 form but I was not successful to find the answer. Can you please send me where to find the answer or the link to that answer.
June 11, 2019 at 16:00
On the DS260. Just list the child (but obviously no DS260 needed for the child).
June 11, 2019 at 21:33
1-You have to list him as your child. Declare this.
2-you have to mention (no) twice for the questions whether he will be traveling with you or joining you later regardless of the fact he my actually join you.
3-no ds 260 required for him
June 11, 2019 at 21:39
Elazab.
When I tell people to read instructions it is because I want them to read the instructions (in case there are other simple things they are missing). I know the answers, and can give the answers if I wanted to but sometimes I want them to go through the process. Your feeding the answers is well meant, but not helpful. Please don’t do that. Thanks.
June 11, 2019 at 13:20
Hello. since May 24 I received the 2NL and our interview is scheduled for June 16 in Dakar. I try to validate my appointment on the site of the American Embassy in Dakar, once I enter my number box, a message appears in red “Your case is not ready”. In your opinion for What I can not validate and what is the cause?
June 11, 2019 at 13:27
I don’t know.
June 11, 2019 at 13:28
Brit, where are your comments on https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2019/06/05/2019-11762/visas-diversity-immigrants ?
June 11, 2019 at 13:38
When it becomes law I will write about it.
June 13, 2019 at 08:54
It is final interim rule, it is a part of regulations (that is not law, just agency regulations) already – https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/22/42.33
June 13, 2019 at 19:31
Still open for discussion, and not even important until the next entry period.
June 11, 2019 at 13:50
Thanks but the link does not address either question! I’ve read all about the public charge and the Sponsor until I get cross-eyed, and they simply do not answer my specific questions regarding Gross vs. Adjusted Gross, or the amount the Selectee needs when someone is also his Sponsor but with an “iffy” W-2 and 1040.
Thank you for your time but no need to answer because I think its one of those things that is dependent upon the CO you get at the interview.
June 11, 2019 at 14:08
Hello Brit,
Thank you for all the information within this website, it helped me a lot while preparing for my interview.
I did my interview yesterday, but unfortunately I was refused to be given a visa due to lack of financial guarantees in the US, despite showing financial records of my sister that exceeds 50,000USD they wanted the additional information of the person I know who lives in the US (Distant family friend) that mentioned in the DS-260 form.
The required information is as follows:
– Please provide a letter from contact in the US (Georgia) mentioned in the interview to describe how he will help applicant.
– Please provide additional proof of finances (severance package, joint sponsor, etc). if you provide proof of a joint sponsor in the US please provide a signed I-134 from a joint sponsor, the joint sponsor 2018 federal tax returns and corresponding W-2 and tax transcripts also a proof that the joint sponsor is either a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
My question is if the person I mentioned is refusing to provide this information, is it possible to provide the address and information for another person or is it too late now, also I have a job offer in California but it’s from a new company (less than 1 year old) will it be sufficient for the US consular officer?
Please note that the consular officer who interviewed me said that my application is acceptable but I only need to provide the above information.
Sorry for talking too much and I appreciate your assistance.
June 11, 2019 at 14:13
It’s a shame you weren’t properly prepared.
Anyone you know could provide an I-134 – just be sure they meet the income requirements.
https://britsimonsays.com/all-about-public-charge-affidavit-of-support-i-134/
June 12, 2019 at 05:36
@brit With i-132 and relevant documents do we have to get a letter from the sponcer mentioning how he will help the applicant?
June 12, 2019 at 19:33
That is what the I-134 already has.
June 13, 2019 at 18:56
hello brit
as expected the person in Georgia will not provide the required documents, but I may have other people that can provide it, but they are in different states than the one I mentioned in my DS-260.
is there still a chance to get the the visa if I provide their documents, or should i just forget about it.
June 13, 2019 at 21:48
You can try.
June 12, 2019 at 05:25
@Abdulkarim really sorry for you, try next year as well you will get it for sure don’t lose hope.
June 11, 2019 at 15:16
Good day,
I’ve been lucky enough to win in lottery, but unfortunately I’ve noticed that the winning code’s initials are “As” even though I’m an Egyptian who has been born in Egypt but lives in Saudi Arabia, the same for my husband.
After questioning about that issue, I have been informed that may be I have mistaken my homeland with Saudi Arabia instead of Egypt. Regrettably, I can’t remember if I committed such a hasty mistake or not, as that is my first time to take part in the lottery ever. FYI, my parents live in Saudi Arabia before my birth, I have studied for my primary, middle, and high school in Saudi Arabia, and my brother, son, and two daughters have been born in Saudi Arabia, and this is where we still live.
So if such a mistake has been really committed, for sure it would be an unintentional one. My data are entered completely correct in the next form. I contacted the Information Center in Kentucky more than once and the reply was that the embassador is the one who can accept my petition.
I seek your acceptance for my apology, and I hope you can tell me if that unintentional mistake can be skipped if any exists.
Some advise me not to complete the procedures as it will be a materialistic loss in an issue which is already finalized and refused.
My endeavor is to know if I should complete the procedures or useless it would be!
June 11, 2019 at 16:03
Unless your husband was born in Saudi Arabia, disqualification is certain.
June 11, 2019 at 17:38
Can I go to interview without my family and take to them another an appointment?!
June 11, 2019 at 18:47
Wow. That would be a really bad idea. That would be immigration fraud, and you have already given them the evidence to convict you.
June 11, 2019 at 17:41
And about my parents live and work in Saudi even before my birth ,, this isn’t useful ?!!
June 11, 2019 at 18:47
No
June 11, 2019 at 16:19
How does us consular know if a man has more than one wife especially people from arabic countries
June 11, 2019 at 16:43
The man looks especially tired.

Savage , Brit???
June 11, 2019 at 16:41
Hello,
My mom has won the diversity lottery with a low case number. I am currently an international student in the United States and I am under 21 (and will be until Nov which I called KCC and they said will not affect my case). I have no idea whether I should do AoS or go to the consulate with them (since I am a student and it is not possible for me to go to the consulate if their interview turns out to be in October or November/ Also my home country is under travel ban) My mom has talked to an agency that helps with dv lottery cases in our home country and they have told her that the best thing to do is to fill the from for CP and when they schedule the interview call the consulate and tell them that your daughter is a student and cannot come to the consulate with you. I do not really trust that agency and I could not find an answer to this question anywhere on the internet please help me. What is the best thing I can do?
June 11, 2019 at 16:46
How is your mother going to overcome the travel ban?
June 11, 2019 at 16:48
My older sister is a resident.
June 11, 2019 at 17:03
So what – that is probably NOT going to overcome the ban. The latest version is tougher than previous implementations, so simply having a family member in the USA is not enough to get approved. People can apply for waivers, but approvals for waivers are slow and very rare.
So, your mother will almost certainly be denied, so I strongly suggest you do NOT file a DS260 for yourself because you will have declared immigrant intent. If by some chance she applies AND gets approved for a waiver AND clears the background processing in time, she could sponsor you on an I-130 case once she is in the country while you are on a student visa.
June 11, 2019 at 17:10
Thanks I had no idea they had changed the travel ban. I wish she hadn’t won the diversity lottery so I could live my life -_-
June 11, 2019 at 17:33
Thanks for responding, I was just wondering if I fill the DS 260 form and do not leave the United States and my parents get denied for a visa, can I finish my education and go back. (I understand that I will have declared immigrant intent and will get rejected for visa in the future but does that mean I have to immediately leave the United States?) I really want to get my degree and go back to my country, I have paid so much tuition and I will be a senior next year.
June 11, 2019 at 18:44
Filing the DS260 does not affect the visa you have now. But again – why file if it cannot be useful and causes problems.
June 11, 2019 at 16:52
Hello Simon,
I sent the KCC an email to change the interview location (uscis office) and they confirmed the location I required ( U.S embassy in my residence country)
When I checked my ds-260 at the CEAC, it remained the same location I applied in first place. Does it require time to change in the form?
Thank you
June 11, 2019 at 17:04
You email KCC to change the selection in your form after you changed address.
June 11, 2019 at 17:56
Hello Brit,
Thank you for all the information within this website, I submit my document and received confirmation email
1) How could I check the status of 2NL letter or Interview Schedule?
2) When would be the medical requirement and how long it takes to process get the medical result?
Thanks again and again
June 11, 2019 at 18:41
1. You wait for the 2NL email or check the ESC page. Read the FAQ.
2. You arrange the medical once you get the 2NL. You follow embassy instructions. The lead time for the medical varies – the physician will advise.
June 11, 2019 at 17:57
Sir Brit,
Applauds… You have been a down-to-earth guide right from day one.
I followed your directives closely and successfully went through the interview.
This is my concern: Our visas were approved on June 6, however CEAC status still displays Administrative Processing. Is there any further step to take? I contacted KCC on it and they referred me to the Embassy.
Whatever you advise will be more than enough.
Kudos.
June 11, 2019 at 18:39
As you will read in the FAQ, that sometimes happens for a short period of time after interview,BUT if that AP lasts more than a couple of days (weekdays), it indicates actual AP. Real AP can last a couple of weeks, to a few months. It’s impossible to predict.
June 11, 2019 at 18:20
hi brit
I just have a primary certificate
Does this prevent you from obtaining a visa?
Thanks brit
June 11, 2019 at 18:37
Yes. You need meet the requirements.

Dear Simon,
in my advance level certificates, secondary and university missed the name by adding the last h (MUHOGORAH). The correct name is MUHOGORA which is on my first dv form on the passport and the birth certificate, is it necessary to make deed poll?
(2)Just few days ago i finished ds 260
When should i get an email from KCC ? My case no 2020AF6X
June 11, 2019 at 19:44
1. Normally, no, but you do what you think is best.
2. You may not get an email for the DS260 – they will contact you for documents in due course.
June 11, 2019 at 19:45
Brit,
I was placed on AP on Friday 7th and true to the CO’s words after the interview, I received an email on Monday 10th from the Embassy with supplemental questions which I have filled the form and emailed back.
Is this a sign that they are trying to expedite my case?
June 11, 2019 at 19:59
No.
June 11, 2019 at 20:31
Hello Brit

Please I will like to find out which document is 1NL

Hi Brit
Thanks for your help and valuable time.
Please i have few questions hopefully you can advice about it.
1 – Regarding DS260, should i submit a separate application for each of my family member that going to join me, or i have just to fill their information in my main application form.
2 – As my case number is law 2020 AS 23XX, do i still have more time to submit it in other one month with no affect on the processing or visa approval.
3 – For education requirement, i have USA hight school equivalence issued by WES USA for my technical diploma , do you think it will be acceptable or i go with the work experience requirement since i am in a profession that meet their requirements.
Thanks a lot and Best Regards

Thanks Brit for your great help and assitance ( Sorry if send my questions two times as i thought the first one sending faild.
Another question and clarification if you dont mind . Regarding my case number considered LOW , most probably my case will be inluded in the first bulletin , in case i delay the DS260 submission for couple of months then this is will not affect the KCC processing and my chance of obtaining an interview, because i heard for certain applicants they are not giving an oppertunities of intreview. Thanks
June 12, 2019 at 19:39
If you delay, that simply means an interview in a later month – no big deal.
June 11, 2019 at 20:43
We had the interview on June 4, the CO said the visas are approved and gave us a paper that says the steps to follow and obviously he got the passports. the status has followed READY since then. the date of the last update of the case has been moved but nothing more. I have not read cases that take so long the issued after an approved. We are 4 people, my husband, our son and his daughter, I being the principal.
1.- What do you think may be happening? Thanks in advance.
2.- I can think that everything is fine since they have not contacted me?
June 11, 2019 at 20:51
I cannot tell what they are doing. Neither can you. Exercise some patience.
June 12, 2019 at 02:02
Hi Simon,
I have a case number for DV-2020 with the eligibility of birth country as “iran” and have dual citizenship Canadian/Iranian. I filled DS-260 info with my Canadian passport info and selected interview location as “Montreal, Canada”
Do you think if the travel ban has any impact on my case?
Thanks

Hi Sam, I have also a dual citizenship (Iranian and Canadian). But, I have not submitted my DS-260 form yet. I thought we need to apply with our Iranian passport. But, it seems that you have applied with the Canadian one. Did you investigate this?
June 25, 2019 at 20:06
You need to apply and travel under the Canadian passport to avoid the travel ban.

Hi Simon,
I have had an interview in Addis ababa US embassy on June 10, Case# 2019AF23****
The officer told me that I have been approved for the visa and that the curie/DHL whereby i can get my passport and visas,
But when i check the CEAC site it says my case is in the ” administration Process”
Is that common? or what is it?

June 12, 2019 at 10:18
Hi Brit,
2019AS56xx is my case number and I submitted all the required documents in March after getting the email from KCC to submit.
However, they didn’t acknowledge that my documents complete and processed until I resubmitted again and inquired them whether the documents are in order. They acknowledged mid last month the documents and DS 260s are complete and processed. But there is no update on the interview.
Is there anything I can do to expedite the process apart from waiting patiently?
Thanks for your precious time
June 12, 2019 at 19:36
No. You might get a 2NL later this month – so – patience.

Hi sir,
I’ve an issue regarding DS260 where under present address(Where interview will be scheduled) I need to put my address in Srilanka ?? BUT I’ve been studying in Australia for 6 months under a new address (Probably changes every 6 months) and my questions are as follows,
1)As I wanna be interviewed in my country of birth(Srilanka),I’ve to put address in Srilanka as present/current address right???
2)Where do I have to list the address in Australia ??
3)Is it possible to list multiple addresses under present/current address??
I hope you find my questions well and thank you so much in advance.
June 12, 2019 at 20:03
You only have one present address and you are required to be truthful. So – if your address changes to SL before you are current you can change the address then. Otherwise your interview is setup based on where you live, not what you “wanna”.

Thaks for yr answer simon,is my case number 2020AF00011***low??
June 13, 2019 at 01:18
I am a dual Canadian-Iranian citizen under EB-1A category and I will have my interview in early July. Do you think my case will be put to administrative processing due to my place of birth? I have been a Canadian for over 10 years, and I travel quite often to United States with no issues.
June 13, 2019 at 01:24
Your guess is as good as mine.
June 13, 2019 at 01:30
Do you know of any similar cases? Iranian born Canadians or any other dual nationals from travel ban countries who might have undergone similar situation? Appreciate it.
June 13, 2019 at 02:40
That would not be useful. Your case is your case. Your name, education, profession, travel history are additional factors. As is the CO you meet on the day.

Hi.. my relative got selected in 2020 lottery.he has already submitted his ds 260 few days ago. now he needs to change sponsor because of his internal problem. Can he unlock his ds 260 form now or should he have to wait until his 2nd letter arrives.
June 13, 2019 at 19:03
Once the 2NL arrives the DS260 cannot be unlocked, so no – don’t wait.
June 13, 2019 at 05:42
Hello Dear sir Brit,
I have Question I was submitte Ds 260 application form but I was loose to write contact number of my employer (MD) so it can affect my application or not? Thank you so much.
June 13, 2019 at 19:10
I don’t think so.
June 13, 2019 at 07:13
Hi Simon
First, thank you for this website. I just received my passport back after a successful interview in Johannesburg (2019AF36***). I would have been far less prepared if I had not come across your page – it helped me so much and I am very grateful. I echo others that say that if you read carefully, just about everything you need to know is here.
Second, I want to note two things from my interview for others benefit: 1) an administrator asked for all my documents before the interview with the CO – including the sponsorship form (which I had but didn’t really need since I have employment and savings in the US already). I decided to give it to them anyhow. They also asked for the sponsors tax documents (W-2 and 1040) although the instructions for the sponsorships forms say that you only need this if the person is self-employed (luckily, I had them). 2) when I arrived, they told me they had not received my medical report which was sent directly to them (!!!!). They eventually found it, but I would recommend to others to consider calling the doctor’s office where they had their medical before their interview to ensure their documents have been sent.
And lastly, a question. On my “Immigrant Data Summary” form, there are some spelling errors in the “other travel document info” section, right at the bottom. They spelled my name wrong (an L instead of and an I) and the name of the issuing authority of my passport incorrectly (‘hoe affairs’ instead of ‘home affairs’). Everything else is correct (including my name further up the page) and my visa is correct. Do I need to worry about these errors?
Thanks again.
June 13, 2019 at 19:13
It is normal to ask for income/tax proof to support the I-134. W2 is for employed people only, 1040 is for employed and self employed people.
About the spelling errors, as long as the visa is accurate, you should be OK, but if you are concerned, check with the embassy.

Hi!
I’m not a native english speaker and there is a small question that is bothering me.
What should i write High School Certificate or secondary school certificate? Both are fine or not?
June 13, 2019 at 19:14
Write whatever is accurate.
June 13, 2019 at 07:29
hi brit,
1)for present address should we give them the address that we have lived before age of 16?
2)providing wrong date(mistakenly) for present address.can this cause visa denial?
June 13, 2019 at 19:15
1. If that is your present address, yes.
2. Not being able to answer the simplest of questions does cause concern!
June 13, 2019 at 08:09
Please sir, how can one know if he/she is having this particular disease because the medicals reports are normally sealed only to be open by the CO ? Thanks .
June 13, 2019 at 19:27
The doctor will discuss anything serious with you.
June 13, 2019 at 10:32
Hi brit,
firstly, thanks a lot for your prompt replies.♡♡♡
my question is :
Is the provisional degree certificate i got from univeristy sufficient to be presented as an official document (original proof) to the US Embassy instead of the actual (original) one?
(or)
Should I translate the original one and present it because I own it in arabic version only?
June 13, 2019 at 13:11
#Note:
The translation process would be through an translation office because my university does not provide translation for the original certificates..
June 13, 2019 at 13:20
#Note 2 :
But they provide translation for the provisional certificates only…
Sorry for prolongation..✋
June 13, 2019 at 21:01
I don’t know with certainty. Use your own judgement.
