Hi Britt,
I am the EDV winner of 2019 from Nepal, I completed the DS260 form and submit it. Now it shows the application is completed. But when i put the mouse cursor there it shows the application will only be proceed after submitting the civil documents. Now the question is where and how to submit the documents to KCC.
June 20, 2018 at 14:35
You don’y send anything. You will present documents at the interview.
June 20, 2018 at 07:27
Hi Simon,
Thanks for all your advice.
I am in the Oceanic region and had my interview on 12th June, I got through all questions, and then the CO advised that I had applied for a State Police check instead of Federal. He provided me with a yellow sheet of paper that ticked the required information. The consulate has kept my passport and advised once I post in the required certificate they will continue processing my application but that I am not required to return.
A silly error on my part- I clicked on state government link while distracted at work and it has cost me more waiting time. That aside my question is this-
– While I wait for the Police Check (a 20 day processing backlog) does this mean each day I fall further back in the queue so essentially could miss out on a visa being allocated? OR
– Does my position stay on hold?
Thanks
June 20, 2018 at 14:40
Your visa is only held until the end of the month of the original interview. After that, the embassy will have to re=request a visa once they clear your case. That introduces some risk.
June 20, 2018 at 17:15
Ok thanks
I have put myself in difficult situation it seems. With backlog the police check should get to me via post on 28th June. But i then have to post to consulate, they wont accept hand delivery.
Can u speculate what the risk after June is?
June 20, 2018 at 17:56
In terms of speculation – no I don’t get into calculating percentage chances etc.
June 20, 2018 at 10:16

June 20, 2018 at 11:18
Good Day!
I have a question as my number went current (i.e. with AS current). If they now gonna schedule all AS people on August and September, will they usually send them ALL 2NLs by the end of June or they would be divided normal-wise (August interviews by the end of June, September interviews by the end of July)?
June 20, 2018 at 14:57
Normal year – all by end of June.
This year – wait and see.
June 20, 2018 at 17:31
Thank you!
One more thing, I have just received an E-mail saying that an update is available at the dvlottery site yet nothing change in there. Shall I wait sometime then contact KCC if nothing happens within like 2 days?
Your help is most appreciated!

June 20, 2018 at 18:13
Just received it THANK YOU MR BRIT!
One small inquiry, I had married and added my wife in May/18, but they haven’t added my wife in the 2nd letter as expected, so what is the best action to do now?
June 20, 2018 at 19:07
That is normal. Go ahead and plan for a joint interview.
June 20, 2018 at 20:43
Hello all. I just received an E-mail saying that an update is available at the dvlottery site. As iI enter my confirmation number it asks for 16 digits code and my confirmation nr its a 10 digit code. Please, what am I doing wrong
June 20, 2018 at 21:59
It expects the CONFIRMATION code you got when you entered the lottery.
June 22, 2018 at 04:00
Brit,
Is that mean if no 2NLS received by end June , that is no hopes? Our location is Hong Kong 2018AS60xx but DS260 late submission in early of May 2018.
As August interview announced . Assume DS260 still processing in NVC. Will they process all cases even numbers is overed.
Really sorry for too many questions
Shirley
June 22, 2018 at 05:14
The last 2NLs will be sent in mid July.
June 22, 2018 at 06:39
Hi Brit
Thank you for giving me a little hopes.
Hope they can process our DS260 before the deadline. As we didn’t alert they have 2nd drawnso missed the 1NLS and delayed the submission.
Thanks
June 20, 2018 at 12:08
Hi Brit!
Do you think we have a chance to be current for EU next bulletin, any percent out of 100? Or it is impossible? If NACARA will give 5000 visas it would be enough for current?
If so, do they have a time for scheduling? In previous years we had such kind of cases with NACARA right? Or I’m wrong?
From 23325 to 33000 they have 4190 cases, if half of them did not submited DS260 it would be aproximetly 2000+.Do you think it is impossibe for scheduling 2000 cases in one month period? If we imagine that they have enough visas.
June 20, 2018 at 12:15
?????????????????
June 20, 2018 at 14:59
Current is not possible.
Wait and see.
June 20, 2018 at 12:20
Hi,
In my edv I missed to type one of my name due to long names (There was not enough space to type my whole name on edv), but I corrected it on ds260. I didn’t interview yet (2018 dv). For the interview I am going to make a affidavit to prove these 2 names belong to same person (from a justice of peace). is it good or useless? Because I am afraid of getting disqualified due to this matter.
Thank You.
June 20, 2018 at 14:59
There should not be a problem.
June 20, 2018 at 12:45
Hi .Eu 285** dv 2018.any chance for interview??
June 20, 2018 at 15:00
All you can do is wait and see.
June 20, 2018 at 14:18
Thank you Mr, Brits for your swift reply.
June 20, 2018 at 14:22
I didn’t get 2 letter notification. It takes how many times to come? My case no. Is As67**
June 20, 2018 at 15:06
When did you submit your DS260? What country are you charged to?
June 20, 2018 at 14:34
Hi Mr. Brits
If my sponsor send me affidavit I-134 form by e-mail original copy can i use the copy for my interview.
Thanks.
June 20, 2018 at 15:09
Yes
June 20, 2018 at 16:14
desalegn from Addis Ababa
dear brit iasked you a question about vaccination.
but i couldn’t find the answer.
desalegn
June 20, 2018 at 16:39
This happens (as it has before) because you keep reply to other people’s questions. If their question gets deleted, yours is lost. Stop doing that!
You asked about vaccinations. The physician decided what you did or didn’t need. So relax!
June 20, 2018 at 15:12
When i try to register my interview and create an account it says that my email has already been used (for me as beneficiary and both the principal) and that is impossible. What should i do?
June 20, 2018 at 16:30
I don’t know – use your own judgement.
June 20, 2018 at 16:34
Hi brits, what you are doing is really great. Helping people is above all. My question is me and my wife have been in marriage for 2 Years and we have got 1 kid and yet we have no marriage cert but i had them on z application form. do u think its gonna be a problem during interview to take cert after dv result announcement
June 20, 2018 at 16:40
You must be legally married before the interview. There could be a problem – I have seen similar cases approved and at least 1 refused.
June 20, 2018 at 17:42
Just received the 2nl for an Aug. interview (2018AS11XXX)…
First– a great thanks for the advice to delay the DS, it certainly proved itself (submitted mid-April).
As I’m still in the US I was wondering how long before the interview would you say I should plan to travel? How long before the interview should the medical panel be? From my experience getting a police certificate in my country can be done on the spot – is there anything else that might take up time? Thanks!
June 20, 2018 at 17:47
I’m glad it worked out – this year is going to see some broken dreams.
For the medical, call them immediately and book the appointment – tell them you are travelling and you want the latest possible date that is in good time to have the report ready for the interview. Then – allow 1 to 2 weeks after the interview.
June 20, 2018 at 17:51
Thanks! So I gather from you answer that from your experience there is nothing other than the medical that might require time prior to the interview?
June 20, 2018 at 18:00
Well – you know what paperwork you need and whether any of that will take time. Other than paperwork and medical – there is nothing else.
June 20, 2018 at 18:12
Thanks!
June 20, 2018 at 18:18
Hello sir, Please for AF which is current—2nl will continue being sent for every body till which month at most under normal circumstances?
June 20, 2018 at 19:08
August interviews are scheduled this month, September interviews are scheduled in July.
June 20, 2018 at 18:21
Dear Sir, Thanks for your helping hand. But for your great help, I would be in huge troubles.
I have received 2NL. Interview is on 21st Aug. I have seen that winners say about a registration for the interview. But I no where found such an instruction or link. Please help me on how to register. Thanks and regards
June 20, 2018 at 19:09
That is country specific – so follow instructions from your embassy.
June 20, 2018 at 23:22
Thank you sir.
June 20, 2018 at 19:09
Just to let you know I got my 2NL interview today for early August. I submitted my DS260 mid May so it seems they’re processing them fast. I’m an Australian with low OC13XX .thanks for your help Simon
June 21, 2018 at 13:53
Aussie, are you saying DV2018? You completed the DS260 in mid of May (last month) and got the interview 8n August? As my relative submitted in early of May. But status still At NY VC. You are do lucky.
Kindly confirm if above is correct.
Thsnks,
Shirley
June 21, 2018 at 16:29
That is clear from what was written. There is no reason to believe that DS260s take a long time to process in normal cases – so this experience isn’t that surprising. However, if a case is more complicated (Middle east travel, names or profession) then things could take longer.
June 20, 2018 at 19:13
Hi Simon,
Hope all is well. Good news is i got my Visa but i see the following written on my visa “UPON ENDORSEMENT SERVES AS TEMPORARY I-551 EVIDENCING PERMANENT RESIDENCE FOR 1 YEAR.”
What does this mean ? Kindly explain
Many thanks.

What if my wife refuses to play the DV with me during the DV playing period, what can I do if I want to play or if I win?
June 20, 2018 at 19:23
You can’t enter the lottery then. Simple.
June 20, 2018 at 19:25
Dear Brit,
Two people using I-134 from one person is a bad idea.
Q) Can one person use Two I-134 from two different LPR’s ?
Thanx
June 20, 2018 at 19:27
No
June 20, 2018 at 19:38
My wife went mission during the DV playing period, the Police helped looked for her, but she couldn’t be found, speculations was that she was murdered for ritualistic purpose. I was not sure if she was alive or dead, so I play as a single, three months later she resurfaces and tells the police that she was kidnapped but managed to escape. Before the DV results are announced, she divorces me. I remarry two weeks before the announcement of the results, can that be a factor to deny my new wife and I?
June 20, 2018 at 19:49
If that is true, you are OBVIOUSLY going to be disqualified. I hope you don’t waste any time or money on the DV process.
June 20, 2018 at 19:59
I have entered my DS 260 form and submitted it to Kentucky . However, I have just found the love of my live and I am intending marring here next and want to travel with her? What can I do?
June 20, 2018 at 20:04
Stop wasting my time.
June 20, 2018 at 20:22
I am sorry Sir, I have four persons who’ve won the DV this year, three of them are the ones having these concerns, these are real situations and your answers have been exceedingly helpful. Please provide your answer for the last question Sir, please. You have already given some relief from your answers.
June 20, 2018 at 21:53
So why the lies? You are an agent and want me to given you information so you can look smart and charge people fees. Really?
Read the FAQs, read the articles, but don’t ask me any more questions.
June 21, 2018 at 04:28
Koiyan Mawolo, YOU’RE SUCH A DISHONEST PERSON WHO IS TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WHO IS TRYING TO HELP GENUINE SELECTEES. SHAME ON YOU! HOPE WE NEVER SEE YOUR COMMENTS ON THIS FORUM ANYMORE.
June 20, 2018 at 20:09
Hi Brit, sorry if someone else has asked this question, but I couldn’t find the answer in your FAQ.
First I submitted my ds form more than a month ago but haven’t heard no reply from the kcc yet, is this normal? And secondly my diploma is in Portuguese, I do need to translate it to English right?
Thanks a lot
June 20, 2018 at 21:46
It’s hard to answer questions when you don’t quote your case number – get in that habit and number questions also. I’m going to assume you are DV2019.
1. Yes it is normal
2. The instructions cover this – make sure you read them.
June 20, 2018 at 20:15
Hi Brit, I have won 2019OC4XX and will need police certificates from 2 countries. Does their date expire and/or have any significance for timeframe of entry as the medical or can I have them done asap? I would like to be interviewed no earlier than Feb/March next year. When do you suggest submitting DS260? Thanks a lot! Red
June 20, 2018 at 21:48
Don’t get the police certs too early – why take the risk of them being too old.
Interviews are scheduled about 6 to 7 weeks before the date. So – March interviews are scheduled in January. If you want to be picked up in that batch, submit around early December. You might slip in to April – but that’s no problem.
June 20, 2018 at 20:18
My case no AF26XXXX I RECEIVED 2NL TODAY.THANK YOU VERY MUCH .I AM FROM TANZANIA.GOD BLESS YOU WE ARE WAITING FOR INTERVIEW.
June 20, 2018 at 20:39
Hi Brit, We want to know What is your expectations for EU this year 2018?
June 20, 2018 at 21:58
Lots of disappointed people….
June 20, 2018 at 21:06
HI. Is it a real concern that Trump may cancel the DV2019 – even now that we are on the verge of starting the 2NL process for us winners ? I get that it has to be a law passed by Congress … but my fear is that with the Dems desperate to get a deal on DACA , he will use this as leverage to get Dem support to get immigration policies of his pushed through , of which he has stated in the past that cancelling the diversity lottery is one of them.
Any opinion ….
June 20, 2018 at 22:03
I don’t think they can get enough agreement, but who knows….
June 21, 2018 at 01:42
I’m praying that it won’t pass
June 21, 2018 at 00:44
Dear Sir, I found that in 2NL,order of the name of my spouse is wrong. In d260 it is ok as N… D… D…. But in 2NlL her family name appear at last, as D… D… N. Do we need to inform the Embassy? Thanks in advance.
June 21, 2018 at 00:51
No problem.
June 21, 2018 at 01:46
Thanks for the prompt reply sir.
June 21, 2018 at 02:12
1) Can a DV 2018 lottery winner sponsor another DV 2018 winner? I mean, the former winner has already been in the US and working there. Can he sponsor the latter?
2) what should be the income requirements so that a person can sponsor a beneficiary?
3) under what conditions do the counselor ask for affidavit of support, I134?
Please help me out!
Regards,

June 21, 2018 at 07:27
Hi Mr Simon,
my interview is in July, and there is a little difference between the place of birth in my high school diploma and my birth certificate ( in the birth certificate : “Irklaou” and the high school diploma : “Eraklaou”) will that cause a problem during the interview ?
thanks a lot for the help you provide here.

No problem.
June 21, 2018 at 11:11
Hi Mr Simon
i have been selected for DV 2019.BUT I only have completed grade 10 and have other certificates like Beauty salon and its certificate training,4 month computer training and its certificate 6 month kindergarten assistance training and 4 years work experience in private school.but the Dv instruction says at least to complete grade 12 not to replay below that.May I quit or i might be selected because of my children because they are top students one 11th girl and other 6th grade boy.and Istill didn’t contact the KCC does it have a problem?
Thanks for your help!
June 21, 2018 at 13:54
You already asked this, and I already answered. You won’t be approved. Your children have nothing to do with you meeting the requirement, which you don’t. Don’t waste your money.
June 21, 2018 at 11:19
hello,
i wanna know if all the second letters is sent only during one day or they can be sent any day around the 15th to the last day of the month.

Read my latest blog entry.

Hi Brit, We know that many people will be disappointed, but we want to know your number expectations, we understand that is only your expectations but you are the person whom we trust. ! We know is only your expectations EU 2018, we undertand that the number maybe will be under or up but we know that it will be near !
June 21, 2018 at 13:47
My only advice is wait and see…
June 21, 2018 at 13:05
Hi Britt, i went for a followup interview with my spouse whom i had not included on the DS260 because when i applied for 2017-2018 dV lottery i was single. i was not sure if i could open my Ds260 and add him but i decided to wait till the interview day and present my case which i did, the CO told me to send wedding fotos but then after a few days i got my visa but my marital status had not changed, it was still reading Single, when i called the embassy they advised me to return my package so that they can do the changes.
After some weeks we received an email to go for a followup interview with my spouse ,after the interview we were told to go and be checking our email, its over two weeks and we have not received any email.
My worry is my medical expires in August and i have not had a word from them..kindly advice me on what to expect in such cases.
June 21, 2018 at 13:46
You are already off the normal path – so there is nothing I can say about what to “expect”.
June 22, 2018 at 10:22
off the path…meaning cancelled or?
June 22, 2018 at 13:48
Meaning not going as normal. So – wait and see.
June 21, 2018 at 13:56
Hi Mr. Brit,
I have no criminal and no archival criminal record. The document that I obtained from Ministry of Justice obviously shows that, there is no record neither now nor in the past !
5 Years ago while I was changing my job, my previous company had conflict about period of notice time, I objected to it and then we had a lawsuit for that. At the end of the lawsuit, I paid the amount of missing period and the case closed.
It was not a crime issue, not arresting, no police records and etc. It was just a payment of notice period time conflict and solved by the court. It has never been figured in my criminal records and still not showing.
Do I need to prepare documents of this lawsuit for interview ? I also said NO in DS260 for the criminal record question. What can I do ? (I am now current and waiting 2NL for Aug interview)
June 21, 2018 at 16:26
It’s not a criminal case….
June 21, 2018 at 14:06
Hi mr
Regarding the green card fee, can I pay these fees with a common receipt for my family and me?
while 2 months will separate my arrival and those of my family in the USA.
June 21, 2018 at 16:38
Yes
June 21, 2018 at 16:47
HELLO MR BRIT,
I HAVE BEEN SELECTED FOR 2018. MY CASE No IS 2018EU27***
I AM WAITING FOR INTERVIEW MORE THAN 1 YEAR. COULD YOU PLEASE PREDICT THE APPROXIMATE DATE OF MY INTERVIEW INVITATION?
THANKS YOU
June 21, 2018 at 16:50
Your number is about the latest VB number. There is one more VB – but we don’t know if they will reach your number or not. You have to wait and see. If they don’t reach your number in the last VB, then you won’t get an interview.
June 21, 2018 at 17:03
Good evening Mr Simon! Am very much happy and thankful to God Almighty that Africa went current for DV 2018 but do you think is possible for AF0004353X have August interview?

Hello Mr BritSimon,
I am currently filling out my DS260 form DV2019 and having trouble answering a few random questions.
1.Q).Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?
A) I have not had my medical yet but will have by the time of my interveiw Should I say YES or NO
2. Q) Have you ever been unlawfully present in the U.S. for more than one year or more than one year in the aggregate at any time during the last 10 years?
A)I have never over stayed my 90 waiver at any time although I Have spent over a year in total if I combine all the times I have spent in the US over the past 10 years. Am I reading this questions wrong?
3. Q) Do you authorize disclosure of information from this form to the Department of Homeland Security, the Social Security Administration, and such other U.S. Government agencies as may be required for the purposes of assigning you a social security number (SSN) and issuing you a Social Security card and do you authorize the Social Security Administration to share your SSN with the Department of Homeland Security?
A) I already have Social Security Number so should I say YES for this questions
Thank you very much
June 21, 2018 at 19:10
All those answers are in my guide on completing the DS260 – so go read that. FAQ.
June 22, 2018 at 10:09
Thank you Sim, Question one is answered on your DS260 page although I couldnt find answer to the last questions
I can not find the answer for my question 2 and 3
2. Q) Have you ever been unlawfully present in the U.S. for more than one year or more than one year in the aggregate at any time during the last 10 years?
I have spent maybe 2 years Total time in the US but all has been Legal under the waiver system. ‘Do I still tick Yes OR NO for this?
3.Q) I already have a Social Security Number should I tick YES to NO
Thanks again
June 22, 2018 at 13:45
You need to answer with what YOU know.
I will say this. You have obviously not rspected the USA laws in the past if you are telling me you have only visited the USA under visa waiver program BUT you have a SSN. I’m not stupid, some of the the CO’s aren’t either.
June 23, 2018 at 01:57
Hi Simon, Maybe you should ask first before you start accusing me of not respecting the Laws. I have never overstayed my Waiver and I was previously on a J1 Visa which allows me to obtain a SSN. How can you say I have not respected the laws when you have No idea I had J1 Visa 12 Years. Thanks for your help
June 23, 2018 at 03:29
For goodness sake. How do you explain this sentence then “I have spent maybe 2 years Total time in the US but all has been Legal under the waiver system. ”
2 years total time ALL under the waiver system. Plus a SSN.
And now you mention a J1 for 12 years. Ridiculous.
June 23, 2018 at 13:56
I think you have some major anger management issues.
goodness sake. How do you explain this sentence then “I have spent maybe 2 years Total time in the US but all has been Legal under the waiver system. ”
I have spent 2 Years in total if i count all the days I have spent in the US over the past 10 years it over 2 Years. I Leave North America every 80 to 90 Days and return. Can you not comprehend that. I have not spent 2 years in the United States Continuously.
I am glad I am not paying for your bad manners.
FYI My J1 Visa was 12 Years ago. For you Fxxking info I have Never over stayed my Waiver or J1 ViSA. Good Luck and Screw you Blog and Screw you Arrogant POM
June 23, 2018 at 14:31
This seems like a Monty Python clip. Read your own words. You said you had spent 2 years in the USA total time. Then, later in that sentence, you said that was all spent under a waiver. I immediately understood the multiple trips – I don’t need that explained. Then, LATER, you added the J1 explanation. Maybe that was just a mistake the first time you said it – but it was VERY clear and that was the basis for my comments. 2 years – all under a waiver. YOUR WORDS.
I don’t care. It doesn’t bother me one way or another. But you need to learn to take responsibility for your words – and don’t blame others for getting the “wrong” conclusion if you tell them that wrong information in the first place.
June 21, 2018 at 19:28
Hi Mr. Simon. Do you think it is possible for AF0004353X to have August interview as AF region now current? Am from Liberia!
June 21, 2018 at 19:43
Possible? Yes.
June 21, 2018 at 19:41
hello britsimon
thanks again for all you great work
I am DV2018 EU288XX currently in LA on a H1 VISA
I know that we just can wait and see the last VB but it seems now to be very unlikely that my number gets current
do you think because I do the adjustment of status process it can be different ?
any chance to get an interview if I send my AOS package now to Chicago USCIS ?
thanks a lot

No – there is no such advantage for AOS. USCIS would simply reject your filing.

Hi Britsimon – I went for my activation trip in September in 2017. I was planning to move over in September 2018. However I’ve now been offered a place in a masters degree where I am in Australia. I understand there is an re-entry permit I can apply for – however can I do this by going over for three or four weeks and using my hotel address on the form? I wasn’t sure if the form was just for already established residents.

You have to remain in the USA until you do the biometrics – that can be up to 6 weeks.
June 21, 2018 at 22:27
But fine to stay in a hotel for 6 weeks and use their address?
June 21, 2018 at 23:04
Hmmm – I would use a friends address if it were me.

Dear Brit,
i have been issued 3 us visas in my life. The 1st one was for high school and I used it, the 2nd one was for college but never used it, and third time it was a tourist visa and I visited US. In ds260 I mentioned my all actual visits (high school and tourist visit), but only mentioned number and date of my last tourist visa, because the other 2 visas were more than 10 years ago and I dont have any data on them. I hope this wont cause any problems?
tnx

I don’t know.
June 22, 2018 at 15:41
As I recall, on the form it says to list your last US visa and you cannot add any previous visas.

Hi there! I was selected in 2017 for more information, and submitted my DS260. There’s nothing more I can do but continue to wait for my interview request, correct? I have been getting mixed info from different people saying I can just go ahead and schedule an appointment. But I don’t think that’s true. My region is Oceania, and my number is on the bullitin yet, they are not up to processing it. But we are getting closer to September so I’m starting to try and be more proactive. Thanks!

You don’t schedule anything. You wait. That’s all.
June 22, 2018 at 11:25
