2-The reports and C.D medical exam should be given to whom?? Because PON did not want?

October 1, 2018 at 04:08
1. What an odd and vague question. I don’t know – have a McDonalds???
2. JUst keep it.
3. You should not need to do that, but if the SSN hasn’t arrived within two weeks, go to the SSA.
4. No. It is paid online. Follow the instructions you were given.

October 1, 2018 at 10:31
Hi Brit,
In about 2 days, entries for 2020 DV will commence, in all my readings of DV info, I have not heard any thing about whether or not the disabled (blind, cripple, deaf and dump etc.) is allowed to send entry, are they allowed? Pleas comment Sir
October 1, 2018 at 14:01
Yes anyone can enter, but must be able to live without becoming a public charge.
October 1, 2018 at 17:00
Hey Simon, I am already in the states, at the airport they put an I94 stamp in my passport, but i am not able to obtain I94 form online , when i enter all of the data in section get “get most recent I94” it says No record found for traveler….but when i go to other sections like view travel history/view compliance and enter my data, system is able to find me, i need this I94 for job and bank account, what i am supposed to do? even wrote a mail to them but average reply time is 10-14 days
October 1, 2018 at 20:27
If yours is a DV case you DO NOT need the I-94. You have the immigrant visa in your passport that proves your status.
October 1, 2018 at 23:29
Thanks a lot Simon, really appreciate your work here!!!
October 1, 2018 at 18:10
Dear Brit,
You have written in your FAQ
“Not yet scheduled for interview”
Interview location is normally based on your current address. If you are not yet current, the process to change your interview location is a 2 step process.
You unlock the DS260 to change your current address to the new address (new country) and resubmit the form.
Email KCC and ask them to change the interview location.
Changing early enough will not delay your case. If you leave this too late KCC may not be able to do this.
My question is , I have still not submitted the Ds-260 and i want to change the location, does the form will ask the current location for interview or i have to email to KCC to change the location. There is no option in Online DS-260 form to change the place of interview or email to KCC is mandatory.
October 1, 2018 at 20:21
If you have not submitted the DS260 you have not chosen the interview location, so you don’t need to “change” it. However, the interview is actually scheduled based on your current address, no matter what embassy you “choose”.
October 2, 2018 at 15:32
Is there is any option in Ds 260 for selecting the place of Interview or it will depend on the location of current address as when i was applying for the lottery i was in my hometown now I am doing job in another country.
October 2, 2018 at 16:06
Ultimately, no matter what you select, the interview is scheduled based on your current address.
October 1, 2018 at 19:10
I’m now applying for new passport can I register for the DV?

Hi, I have a query related to DV lottery. My birth is of Nepal while my wife’s birth is of India. So I wanted to know if my wife and I can fill up DV lottery separately,i.e. my wife on spouse basis and I as the resident of Nepal?
October 1, 2018 at 20:16
Yes – read this:
https://britsimonsays.com/country-of-chargeability-for-dv-lottery/
October 1, 2018 at 20:25
Dear Sir
I know that the visa numbers percentage will not be more 7% , what about the regions.? Is there any limit?
Is there any list shows the number of vissa issued not the selectee number for each country or region for the previous dv ?
Thank for your usual support
October 1, 2018 at 20:33
Yes – I have published many articles over recent months that explain quotas, show data from previous years and so on – please read some of those articles.
October 1, 2018 at 20:45
Thanks sir
1- I checked already all the files, the excel sheet is for the selectee not for the visa issued for the selectee am I right?
2- my case 2019AS000063xx, am I competing and challenging for getting the visa within my region selectee or with whole selectee?
Thank you
October 1, 2018 at 21:10
1. Visas issued includes derivatives.
2. To some extent, both. Read the FAQ.
October 1, 2018 at 21:47
Hi simon.
My wife and i case status was changed to ISSUED on the last day of the lottery program, after the long time on READY,
but what confusing me is that one is on ISSUED and two is on READY. What does that means.
October 1, 2018 at 22:20
It might mean they only issued one visa, but it could also mean they issued all visas but did not update the CEAC system completely – so – patience.
October 1, 2018 at 21:49
hello, my case number is 10xxx, i would like to know when i have my interview appointment
October 1, 2018 at 23:01
Ahh yes. If only there was a page that discussed that exact question….

October 2, 2018 at 04:08
Hello Simon,
In our 2 letter, they write 2 October as interview. But when my husband and son went for interview they told that it’s not today instead in 29 octobOc and we will get mail. But we didn’t get mail. What is happening I am confused. Actually because of problem in my x-ray my interview changed to Nov. 29 but we didn’t change date of interview for my husband and son. My husband is principal applicant.
October 2, 2018 at 13:58
The embassy changed the date. That is all.
October 2, 2018 at 14:09
But we didn’t get any mail till now. What you think that when we get the mail? What is the cause of date change?
October 2, 2018 at 04:16
My case number is 2019AF43***..when do I get 2NL..

Hi Simon
I want to ask about the address that I have entered in DS260, Is it necessary to live there after entering in US?
Or if I don’t want can I have an apartment by support of US govern?
Thanks from your usual help.
October 2, 2018 at 14:00
No you don’t have to live there. There is no government support – you have to make your own way.
October 2, 2018 at 06:37
Hi Brit, How are you doing today?
Well, i have questions to ask your about my address in USA.
FYI , My case number is 2019AS6xxx i already submitted my DS 260 form online since the end of May 2018. My address in USA that i submitted at that time was the address of my daugther (who is working in the USA ). My daugher is 25 years old and she is working in USA with her OPT.
Now my daughter is going to move to the new address next month.
The question are :-
1.Do i have to unlock the DS 260 and change the address in USA ?
Or i can leave it as it is ? because my daughter may move or change the address again
( because of her work , she is not sure too, now she is renting some apartment )
2. IF i do not change the address right now , Will it affect my background check or cause any problem during the interview?
3. Can i mention it at the interview or change it at the port of entry ( after i get a visa issuance)
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
thank you so much.
October 2, 2018 at 14:02
1. You can wait and change later.
2. No
3. Yes
October 3, 2018 at 00:05
I really appreciate your answers, thank you so much.
October 2, 2018 at 11:03
Hello Brit, I hope you are doing well.
I’m a 2019 DV (principle applicant) and i have selected Malaysia as my interview location because my husband is residing there, however one of the essential requirement at the interview is the Malaysian certificate of good conduct, but this certificate is only available for residents of Malaysia and I will not be able to obtain it because I only visit my husband for time to time on tourist visa.
My questions are
1.The absent of that important paper will it cause any problem during my interview??
2.What do you recommend me to do?
October 2, 2018 at 14:08
1. Pobably not.
2. Consider whether interviewing in your country would be better, as the Malaysian embassy will have a delay checking your husbands education documents
October 2, 2018 at 13:40
please may I know if abidjan embassy of us are still working on dv2018?
October 2, 2018 at 14:20
No. DV2018 is over.
October 2, 2018 at 14:27
DV2018 is officially over as of September 30,2018. No embassy is deling with DV2018 matters anymore. The DV lottery website has also removed the 2018 option when it comes to checking 1st and 2nd letters, CEAC won’t let DV2018 selectees access their DS260s anymore.
October 3, 2018 at 09:55
what about those with issued status but still have not received their passport(visa)
October 3, 2018 at 15:29
Those people should show some patience.
October 2, 2018 at 14:11
I’m a 2019 DV lottery winner (principle applicant). and I have selected Malaysia as my interview location because my husband is residing there, however one of the essential requirement at the embassy is the Malaysian certeficate of good conduct, and this certificate is only available for residents of Malaysia or people who spent one year at least in Malaysia, therefore I will not be able to obtain it because I only visit my Malaysia from time to time on tourist visa, my questions are 1. Failure to obtain that certificate will it be an issue during my interview? 2.What do you recommend me to do?
October 2, 2018 at 14:15
Sorry this one I have send it by mistake.
October 2, 2018 at 15:28
Good evening. my friend has been doing her interview at the Abidjan embassy since Sept 4, 2018, the embassy holds her passport so far. is he lucky enough to be called
October 2, 2018 at 16:06
Only if the visa was approved by the end of September.
October 4, 2018 at 05:11
Hi brit!can the embrassy call you to receive your passport after dv 2018 ended from the embrassy and they said we were unable to issue your visa before the end of the programme because my case was in Ap but my visa was approved during my interviews. But the embrassy needs me to pick up my passport end of next week.
October 4, 2018 at 14:17
Yes, that can happen.
October 4, 2018 at 15:09
Do you think my visa was approved .sorry to ask
October 4, 2018 at 17:39
No – they told you no already!
October 2, 2018 at 16:02
Hi Simon,
hope you are well, I am here to ask how many chances are to be selected after may each year, as far as I know there is only one drawing each year but instructions on the offical web site tell to keep the registration numer and check the entrant status until the end of septmber, so I am wondering the reason.
Thanks a lot for your help!

October 2, 2018 at 16:07
I some years there is a small second draw – but it does not appear to have happened this year.
October 2, 2018 at 17:04
Hi dear Simon. I’m from Cambodia where the US visa restricted due to political issues. I’m a military officer, does my career cause denied if I already filled it in form Ds260.
Thank for reply.
October 2, 2018 at 18:45
Not as far as I know, but you must be free to leave service of course.
October 2, 2018 at 19:13
Hi Mr Brit, is it ok to enter DV 2020 for someone in AF when am in As region.
I want to enter for my daughter.

October 2, 2018 at 21:12
Hi Brit
I am a 2019 DV winner from Libya.
My family dad and mum are green card holders and living in the US. I am living in Libya with my husband. Libya is one of the Trump travel banned countries.
The questions are:
_Can i fill in the DS260 form.
_is there any chance to get a DV visa despite the ban.
October 2, 2018 at 23:16
1. Yes
2. No – unless you have some other citizenship.
October 2, 2018 at 23:02
Hi Brit,What is considered as double entry in the DV process. Please show me examples. Thanks
October 2, 2018 at 23:18
Double entry is self explanatory. You entered twice the lottery/submitted 2 applications/registered twice. There isn’t an example, it simply means you played twice the same lottery the same year which is grounds for disqualification.
October 2, 2018 at 23:23
Entering twice for one person as a entrant (not including being a derivative on someone else’s entry)
October 2, 2018 at 23:45
Hi brit,
hope you are well, so I am a 2019dv winner and you know I had the chance to do to the USA 2015 and 2016 as visitor exchance so during this program they issued a social security card to me and I still have it with me. so my question is: in DS260 form they ask if I new a new one or not. which one is better for me sir. thank you Brit.
October 3, 2018 at 02:36
You keep the old number, and get a replacement card.
October 3, 2018 at 03:56
I ask you because in my ds260 form I marked as no. I don’t need a new one. Do you think can it be affect to my application? Thanks
October 3, 2018 at 04:04
No.
October 3, 2018 at 01:17
Hi brit Thanks for your help.
October 3, 2018 at 03:15
Dear Mr. Simon,
Could you please kindly to tell how can I get the form of the green card lottery to apply for DV2020 ? As it is my first time I want to try for DV2020 but actually I could not found the real one.
Hopefully to get back from you soon,
Thank you

October 3, 2018 at 05:55
Hi Simon,
I was selected for DV2018 and i did the interview on 7th of Sep. during the interview i figure out that my there are 5 days different in the date of birth between my birth certificate and all the other documents on my birth certificate shows 11/5 and all my passport to my high school cert to all my docs all shows 16/5. the officer asked me to explain how that happens i tried to explain that the certificates my country can have mistakes because its issued on the 90th by hand written form and they make mistakes all the time but the officer asked to explain if they make mistake then how all the other papers is correct i said that the true date is 16 as per the passport they didn’t ask me to show birth certificate when issuing my passport.
the officer went with me through long process because she said she can’t trust my documents.
at the end she asked me for explanation letter from my gov and in case the gov admit the error i need to get new birth certificate and send all with my passport to the embassy.
i went back to my country and as expected i figure out that in the system registry in my country i was born on 16 and my birth certificate has an error. so i got a letter from my embassy in kuala lumpure where i mad the interview and letter from the gov section issuing the birth certificates all shows that my correct birth is 16 not 11 and i submit everything on 19 of September. But i did’t receive anything until now.
please i need to know
1- what normally happens in these cases as its two weeks now?
2-how long does it normally take to return the passport ?
3-is there a case where am gonna need a second interivew?
October 3, 2018 at 14:56
I am sorry to say, you won’t get the visa. Any case that cannot be approved before the end of September 30th cannot be approved after that date.
October 3, 2018 at 07:30

October 3, 2018 at 08:26
Hey Simon,
I have studied in a university for over 4 years but quit without a degree.
Let’s say I was too busy gaming =)
Do you think I should select “High school diploma” or “Some university courses”?
Thank you very much in advance!
October 3, 2018 at 15:28
Use your own common sense.
October 6, 2018 at 15:52
So you don’t have any qualification from the university so you’re better off selecting high school
October 3, 2018 at 11:48
I was lucky to be picked on the DL this year and i check it yesterday and I have an issue. I have not submitted the DS-260 till now as I am collecting all the required documents with me.
I am french. When I submitted my application I was working and living in Morocco. Now I work and live in Canada. How can I avoid having the interview in Morocco/ France and having it in Canada?
October 3, 2018 at 15:31
If your current address is in Canada, that is where you will interview.
October 3, 2018 at 15:42

Hi Britt,
I recently graduated from university so I have a question about contacting CEAC to update my education info, because when I completed ds form i put my as my higher level of education high school. I ask you this because I’m expecting my interview to be sometime in december this year.
Thanks in advance for your answer.
October 3, 2018 at 17:58
No need to update, but you can unlock if you want.
October 3, 2018 at 19:44
Hello. I need help to apply to dv lottery.
My last name is “Liçi” and it says – “This field must start with a letter and can only contain letters, apostrophe, hyphen, or space. Please modify before continuing.”
How should i write my last name correctly ?!!

Lici.
October 3, 2018 at 22:05
Hi Simon, is it ok if my father issues a cheque for me (around 15 to 20 k$,) and a statement that the cheque is a gift and Not retrievable to help me to immiggrat to the US. Would this be enough to show that I won’t become a public charge. I am doing this because I don’t know anyone in the US and I am student I don’t have any sources of income.
Thank you for your time
October 4, 2018 at 01:45
That might work.
October 3, 2018 at 22:47

October 4, 2018 at 00:19
Hello Brit
I am a dv2019 winner
1-My last name in the passport is written like this (AL-ABC), and in the DS260 form I wrote it like this (ALABC), which I wrote without the mark (-). Is this correct or should it be modified on the DS260 form?
2-Should I fill out the form for my wife in the DS260 or not?
Note that she will not travel with me.
October 4, 2018 at 01:49
1. No problem.
2. If she is never going, no.
October 4, 2018 at 02:51
hello, legal concubinage is allowed as legal marriage to register in the lottery. Thank you
October 4, 2018 at 03:23
Probably not, since the relationship generally doesn’t confer the same rights as marriage.
October 4, 2018 at 06:37
Hello brit.
While preparing my documents for the interview i found errors on my grade 10 and 12 transcripit(not on my completion certificates). The errors are my age in which in grade 10 it’s 17 and in grade 12 it’s 16. However according to my birth certificate it should be 16 for grade 10 and 18 for grade 12. Could it be a reason for disqualification? If so, what is the solution?
Thank you
October 4, 2018 at 14:18
That could cause concern about the validity of your documents.
October 4, 2018 at 16:17
So what is the solution? Please advise me
October 4, 2018 at 17:40
I don’t have a “solution”.
October 6, 2018 at 15:59
By solution i mean any suggestions that will help in my success. Some suggested me to reconstruct the documents by communicating with my old schools while others say that it’s not a big problem just to tell the CO, if asked, about the mistake. In the middle i got stressed. I would get relief only when you suggest something, please!
October 6, 2018 at 19:58
Do what you can to give yourself the best chance with OFFICIAL documents.
October 4, 2018 at 09:07
Hello Brit,
I would like to ask few questions.
I spent sometime in the US some years ago and got married to a citizen. She filed for me but was denied permanent status. We are currently separated for about 4years and I traveled back to my home country. I am now engaged through traditional marriage to another woman and we currently have 2kids. I would like to apply for the 2020 lottery
Questions
1. Can I apply with my wife and the kids we have in my country as derivatives
2. The last time I checked the department of state, the system showed that I am still married to my American wife
Please advice what I can do
October 4, 2018 at 16:46
So you haven’t mentioned divorce from your first wife. You must be divorced before you can remarry, otherwise that would be considered bigamy and US immigration law would not consider the second marriage as valid.
So – if you have not already divorced, you are married still. To enter you would need your first wife’s details and photo. You could include your children, but it will be complicated to include your current “wife”.
So – were you divorced (and do you have that paperwork)?
October 8, 2018 at 09:45
Thanks so much Brit for the reply. Really appreciate
My first wife and I are not formally divorced but separated with no paperwork. She is an American citizen so can I go ahead and apply with my kids but without her and leave out my current engaged wife in my country to avoid any future complications and possible disqualification should I be lucky enough to win
October 8, 2018 at 14:11
You are married to a citizen – and there is an option to indicate that.
October 4, 2018 at 09:44
Hello Brit,
I’m a DV2019 selectee along with my wife, and my child who was born in the US and therefore is a US citizen.
Before submitting the form I read in the instructions these guidelines: “You do not need to include a photograph for a spouse or child who is already a U.S. citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident, but you will not be penalized if you do” and “A child who is already a U.S. citizen or LPR will not require or be issued a Diversity Visa; you will not be penalized for either including or omitting such family members from your entry”.
I was confused and tried to play it safe. So in the Electronic Diversity Visa Entry Form I listed the 3 of us.
1) Should I submit a DS 260 form for my child?
2) If NO, would this pose a problem for us during KCC process or the interview if in the IV applicant information it shows “incomplete” for my child?
3) If YES, in the Mailing and Permanent Address Information section there is this question “Is this address where you want your Permanent Residence Card (Green Card) mailed?” when I answer NO, there is a text box asking me to provide the address in the United States where I want my Permanent Residence Card (Green Card) mailed. What’s the right answer?
4) In my DS 260 form, to the questions “Is this child immigrating to the U.S. with you?” and “Is this child immigrating to the U.S. at a later date to join you?” I answered NO. Is it the correct answer?
Thank you for all the valuable help you provide to the DV community!
October 4, 2018 at 17:20
1. No
2. No
3. N/A
4. Correct.
October 4, 2018 at 09:45
Have a good day Brit,
When I was filling out Ds 260,did not write anything about zip/postal code of my address where I live now (also my parents) and tick “does not apply” box(which placed nearby zip/postal code box) because I did not know exactly also I thought if there is a “does not apply” box probably it may not be crucial .But I searched and found zipcode somehow.Should I unlock Ds 260 and add zipcode?…Thanks in advance
October 4, 2018 at 17:21
No need.

Normally you should do nothing. DV 2018 ended on 30th September. It is unfortunate that you didn’t get your visa but nothing you can do about it.
Sorry.

The instructions (which you should read!) say don’t re-use a photo – so don’t!

Hello Mr Simon
I was dating this lady when I register for the lottery we were not married I have a child with her I included her and my child but we are no more there am now legally married can i excluded the lady I was dating and included my legal wife’s info into the system they don’t bare one name nor one age what should I do

Well, by including her, you lied and said you were married. Or you are lying to me now. So – they will question whether you were actually married and if so, where is the divorce document. In other words, your dishonesty has created a mess. You can try and convince them, but I am guessing you are in Accra where the embassy routinely rejects cases such as this. So – it’s your choice whether to proceed or not.

Good afternoon Brit,
I hope all is well.
Please advice on this situation. My brother in law was a beneficiary to my little sister in the 2018 dv lottery program.they got marry and she played the dv as single. She included him later after she won. My sister had two children, unfortunately they died during the Ebola crisis. During their medical, she told the doctor about her situation and it was done. My brother in law have three children but from different mothers. But for him, the mothers of the children denied him of the children saying that they will not allow their children to be raised by step mothers. My in law try to convince them but to no avail. So he failed in the D’s 260 form with out including children. Owing to the fact that if he includes any of them he will have to include their particular including their photos. Since he had no access to them it was difficult for him to include their names.
My sister and her husband went for the interview on the 4th of Sept. They were disqualified. The reason given by the CO was that she had had children before and she did not include them. According to her she tried to eplain to the CO her situation but she was not given the time. They CO only give them back their documents attached with a note explaining the same reason of their disqualification. The CO did not ask my in law any question. And the both of them walked out of the Embassy. Since this situation my in-law left for the ivory coast and had not returned. Okay the big Q is, my sister stills want to apply for the dv 2020. Her worry is, how is she going to apply? Her husband is even refusing to pick up her calls saying that he lost his everything including money because of her. So will it be right for her to play as single or as marry? If she plays as married, will it be recommended to add her husband photo? And if she plays as single and win, can she add her husband again? So what is she suppose to say at her new interview? And for the husband if he decides to play also, can he add any of the children if one of the mothers decide to change her mind? And can he also apply as married or as single? And what is he suppose to say at his new interview if he wins.
I pray and hope to hear from you.
Thanks and many appreciations to you and your team.

The lesson should have been learned and is obvious. Lying causes denial. Not including eligible derivatives cause denial. So NO she cannot apply as single, because she is married! AND she now how step children.
Frankly, with such a tenuous understanding of honesty, they should probably not enter the lottery.
