Hello Brit
Thanks a lot for your information about DV 2021 starting this month.
I took a photo-shot from a photo studio on May-15th 2019 and I will be using the soft copy of the photo for the DV, because I didn’t have a good phone camera.
Please can I use the soft copy of the photo, since it almost five (5) and half months old.
As well, what is the required size for the photo…
Thank you very much

Hi, i’ve been in usa before i won the lottery and once i got traffic ticket there and didnt show up at the court. Today i find out it’s a misdemeanor to not showing up and i believe it comes up on my criminal record in usa. Would it cause to me to get rejected? Is there anything that i can do about it? Thanks for your consideration.
October 2, 2019 at 03:43
There is nothing you can do, but it should not cause denial.
October 1, 2019 at 15:00
Hi all
1.Simon the education is needed only for the principal applicant to be sent to KCC?
Not other beneficiary winners?
2. another question is that my wife whos principal winner, has finished her 4 years BSc but the university here takes time until they make/print the diploma, in meantime they give to those who graduate the so called certificate of diploma which proves the credits and qualification of the candidate. Is that fine?
October 2, 2019 at 03:42
1. No education is sent to KCC. But only the pricipal has to prove education at the interview.
2. Probably. High school documents are important.
October 1, 2019 at 14:57
Hi Brit, I am from AS and a winner of 2020. Recently I sent an email requesting KCC to unlock my application to change my interview location as advised by them. But in response to my email, I got an email to send documents. My case is 17xxx from Asia, which I doubt is high number and no expected to get email to send documents. 1. Now, my question is, can I send them documents or wait till number becomes current? 2. Is there any system in Kcc to ask for documents and schedule not as case number wise? 3. Regarding documents to email, is it only three documents (police checks, birth certificates and passport) to send or more? 4. What is the highest 2020 case number that you heard for AS region? Please do kindly share???
October 2, 2019 at 03:40
1. Whatever you want to do.
2. No case will be scheduled until the number is ready AND documents processed.
3. Exactly what they ask for.
4. About 30k
October 1, 2019 at 14:57
Hi Brit if my wife is still bearing her father’s name on all her document and including her passport will that be a problem at the interview? Thank you
October 2, 2019 at 03:25
No problem.
October 1, 2019 at 14:56
Hey Brit, the KCCDV emailed me yesterday that my unlock request is complete and today they’ve emailed me that my DS-260 has been processed, kcc asked me for document, I don’t know what to do next my case very big 25xxx from iraq
My question is
1. If not send document now, KCC will not asked me again for document next year when my case number will be current
2. Why my case very big kcc asked for document, a lot of case number small than me not asked for document yet , it is any problem with my case
3. if kcc not asked me again, what have to do, what the last time can I send doucumet ,
4. if send document when get inteview.
thank you
October 2, 2019 at 03:25
1. No need to rush to send documents. You can wait a while.
2. No problem.
3. May – but I advise earlier than that.
4 Summer 2020.
October 1, 2019 at 14:46

Hello Brit, I noticed Haiti is on the illegible, do I even dare to attempt this DV process? Should I take my chances, if not what route would you advise me to take to bring a family from HAITI TO US please?
October 1, 2019 at 14:32
If you are from Haiti, there is no point entering. As for other visas, you will have to do your own research.

hi simon
im 14 and i want to apply .do i need to have my own passport or i can use my parents passport
October 1, 2019 at 14:21
You are too young to meet the requirements and would need a passport in any case.
October 1, 2019 at 11:25
Hi Brit hope you’re having a nice day.
Im from Egypt and I wanna to apply in the Dv-2021 for me and both of my parents.
But I’m confused about the family name cause here in egypt we dont have really the concept of a family name each individual has a last name and a married woman don’t take her husband’s last name, so my first question is: when filling the dv-form do i write my mother’s last name the same as my father’s or i just write the last name in her passport?
The second question is: also my last name in my passport is not the same as my father’s so do i write my father’s last name as mine or I use my last name in my passport?
And finally thanks for your time:)
October 1, 2019 at 13:52
I’m not from Egypt, so you have to use some judgement of your own.
You enter your legal name.
October 1, 2019 at 11:18

Thank you.

The same. But if a person does not list their country of bityj accurately, their chances of processing to approved become very low.

Hi Brit,
I am a 2019 DV winner and today is the last day of DV 2019. I was put on AP since June 3rd 2019 and still on AP. My document and passport and every original document is still with the consulate. Is it possible to be approved after 30th September or I have to forget my American dream?
My second question is if a dv visa is approved, will the issue date be the date I attended the interview or the date administration processing changes to approved?
Thank You.
October 1, 2019 at 03:43
You cannot be approved after September 30th.
Date approved.

Dear Brit,
If my wife is applying from Romania for our son and I, I am Irish, they are born in Romania, can I apply in Ireland for me, my wife and my son as well? Or is this considered applying twice meaning disqualification? Thank you.
October 1, 2019 at 03:41
One application for you, one for your wife, each listing each other as spouse and each listing the child.
September 30, 2019 at 22:15
Hello Brit . I hope you’re doing great .
Isn’t it that I have to receive an email from KCC , after submitting my DS-260 ? An email that confirms KCC have successfully received my application ( DS-260 ) . Not documents , yet .
Thank you
October 1, 2019 at 03:40
The confirmation is not important.
October 1, 2019 at 05:39

October 1, 2019 at 05:40
I got it . Thank you

Dear Simon!
I live in Sweden and I am planning on applying for the Diversity Visa for the first time in my life. I have some questions that I am hoping that you can help me with.
1. I was born and bred here in Sweden, my parents are Swedes and I have a Swedish passport which is valid until 2022. This summer I removed one of my names, meaning that the Swedish Government has got only two names on me whilst my passport still includes all three of them. When I enter my application, should I include two or three?
2. I live with a woman to whom I am not married. We have two biological children together, but also another daughter. She is not my biological child, but I have been raising her since she was a baby and I love her and treat her just like I love and treat my biological children. My question is now finally, should/could I include my woman and what about the three children? I have not been able to adopt her since her biological father (a major a**-hole) is refusing me that right.
Thank you very much in advance, Simon!
Kind regards
Henrik
October 1, 2019 at 03:29
1. Your full legal name.
2. First you will have to marry if either of you are selected to bring the spouse. Your biological children must be listed. The additional child you don’t mention who is the mother – is it your partner? If so then you will become the childs step father when you marry her mother, and that means you can add her to your process if you win. So – if I have it right, you enter with your 2 kids, no spouse. Your spouse can enter with 3 kids, no spouse. If EITHER of you win, get married and all 5 get GCs.
October 1, 2019 at 19:25
Thank you very much for the quick and enlightening reply, Simon! I didn’t see this post register yesterday and therefore wrote a similar one today. My apologies! I won’t make the same mistake in the future. Yes, she is the first child of my partner.
September 30, 2019 at 20:15
Hi Sir,
Thank you for helping us with your website. I activated the gc and returned back to my country. In one week i will move permanently to the US. My question is that on ds260 form I used a Texas address for my permanent address, but I will stay in New York, is there any problem? Should I tell this to airport employees?
Thanks very much dear Sir.
October 1, 2019 at 03:19
No problem. Just update USCIS online when your move.
September 30, 2019 at 18:52

October 2, 2019 at 04:42
Hi Brit,
I made a mistake in the username of Facebook.
suppose the link is like: facebook.com/sir.britsimon.25
I wrote user name in DS 260: Sir Britsimon
Suppose the link for LinkedIn: LinkedIn.com/in/brit-simon-269842639/
I wrote user ID for LinkedIn in DS 260: Brit Simon
Should I unlock my DS 260 and correct it. I am worried if I go the interview and ask to correct it and put me on AP to check and that will be risky because my case number is too high AF202050XXX
What should I do?
September 30, 2019 at 18:30

September 30, 2019 at 15:21
Hello Mr. Simon.
I appreciate the work you are doing Sir.
my questions.
1) In 2018 June applied for B1 (conference) Visa and I was given, before i could fly out The embassy called me to take my passport back to them. they told me that they received some more information and they cancelled my Visa.( my visa was stamped canceled), later on i was told that one of my relative informed the embassy that i have relatives in the USA and that if i enter usa i will not return back.
for me i told them that i don’t have relative in the usa during my interview. NOw, will this type of cancellation affect my DV2021 if am selected?
2) In my previous DV applications which I have’t win i did indicate that am single male with a child, when i was applying for B1 Visa which was cancelled in did indicate that i am married with a child,
now am planning to apply DV 2021, am little bit confused, which status should i use which will not complicate my dv process.
Thank you for your Assistance.
October 1, 2019 at 03:11
1. I don’t know.
2. OK – so yes your previous lies are going to be a problem. You can’t just make lies up and expect the US government to ignore that…

Hi!! I know you said not to ask now but I’m a little confused… if I might (just might) have finished college/university on the interview dates (October 2020-sept. 2021) should Apply entering that I finished high school or say that I’ve finish college? I’m asking bc i think I should say that I only finished high school but would that be lying if i get selected and i go to the interview having a fleshly received college degree?
Thanks❤️

Brit,
Let me start with thank you very much for the videos on youtube and the information you are providing to us.
I am planning to apply this year for the green card. I am a structural engineer with almost 4 years of experience.
I hold three different citizenship, Kosovan, Serbian and Irish. At the moment I am living and working in Ireland. I have completed my education in Ireland from age 14 until now. My question is having three different citizenship would it disqualify me? and what citizen should I use to apply?
Thank you very much for your time reading this.
October 1, 2019 at 03:01
Your citizenships are unimportant. The entry is based on country of birth.
September 30, 2019 at 10:15

I’m ok with that, is it risk to make 5-6 applications from same IP address or it’s not problem?
