Good morning Simon, thank you so much for everything! I have a few questions if you don’t mind please,
1. In my bio metric page in my passport, they printed the wrong Date of Birth, but on the following page they “corrected” it by giving a stamped “Correct date of Birth: ___” and signed. Will this be a problem? Should I scan both pages when submitting my documents
2. My number is AS-13,XXX – I submitted by DS260 a few months ago but haven’t received a confirmation email from them yet. In fact I haven’t received a single email from KCC or anybody regarding my DV process so far, is this normal?
3. I recently heard in your video you said that in “some” cases would you recommend that people send the documents without having received an email requesting the documents, if you don’t mind, which situation would you recommend somebody do that?
Thank you so much and have a great day!!
December 14, 2020 at 19:50
1. I don’t know if that is the “official process” in your country to correct a mistake. If it is, then it should not be a problem. Yes scan both pages.
2. Yes, they will get to you in the next few weeks.
3. When it is late, according to the case number.

Hello brit.
google plus is on the social media list and i think i had google plus because i had a google account. But I do not have more information about the Google Plus account and its platform is no longer available. Is it enough that I entered my gmails?
December 14, 2020 at 19:51
Yes
December 17, 2020 at 19:20
Hi Brit, I’m a Dv 2020 selectee but unfortunately I lost access to my credentials( Confirmation code). The agent who was processing it for me wants huge money before he does it for me. Is there any way I can get it back?
December 17, 2020 at 23:26
This is why people should not use an agent!!
You might be able to get your details. It depends what you already know.
If you don’t know your case number OR your confirmation number, you can get both of those if you do know your full name, DOB, and email address used for the entry. You do that by using the lost confirmation number link – https://dvprogram.state.gov/ESC
If you don’t know those details (for instance the email address the agent used) then you are not able to get your details.
December 18, 2020 at 08:13
The link you sent is for only Dv2021, I’m a Dv2020 selectee
December 18, 2020 at 14:22
Well DV2020 is officially over. Whilst there is a lawsuit that may work for some, you should certainly not be paying an agent for access to your DV2020 details.
December 14, 2020 at 12:39
Hello Simon
I am DV2021 winner with case no. AS 5** . I filled DS260 already and send the additional documents and got mail of ready for scheduling. But 4 days earlier my baby got birth. I watched your FAQ and YouTube video regarding how to include newly born child. But for recent scenario what should I do please can you assist me. am in confused what to do and what not to do? I dont want to loose my interview schedule or postpone if possible so please am waiting for your suggestion regarding this.
December 14, 2020 at 19:53
You need to do what I said in the FAQ and the video. That means unlocking your DS260, adding a new DS260 for the child and so on. The sooner you do that, the better.
December 14, 2020 at 13:56
Hello Simon! I have a question about my ds260. The person whose address i put on the form to send my GC moved to a new house. Should i unlock my ds260 to change the information? Is it necessary or do i have other chances during the process to confirm or not the first address?
Thank you for everything
December 14, 2020 at 20:00
You can do that at the interview.
December 14, 2020 at 15:28
Good day sir, I have watch one of your interview with one of dv2018 winner (Cameroonian) and you gave an advice that he should have gotten married before traveling. I want to get married soon but thinking in that aspect whether I should or not so as to avoid the rising of some setting questions during interview. I wise love to get much more clear advice on this case sir. Thanks
December 14, 2020 at 20:01
Marrying someone is fine – as long as that marriage isn’t just to get an extra Green Card. So, if the relationship already existed (and you may be asked for proof of that), then you should be fine.
December 14, 2020 at 15:29
Dear Simon
In my Ds 260 I stated that I currently live at address X. Previously lived at address Y (parents house). Which is the truth.
On the document submitted to Kcc (entry of birth, police certificate, criminal record etc) it states address Y and not address X. This is because my Current ID shows address Y and hasn’t been updated since I moved houses.
1-do I need to update my National ID card to be able to obtain updated address on certificate ?
2-if not, do I inform Kcc by mail?
Thank you dear
With peace
December 14, 2020 at 20:23
1. Not normally.
2. It should not be necessary.
December 14, 2020 at 20:37
Thanks Simon – just to clarify point 1: It is fine to leave these certificates as they are without updating the address ?
??
December 14, 2020 at 21:46
Again, you would not normally need to do that – but you can decide.
December 14, 2020 at 20:40
Hello Brit. I’m a DV 2021 winner with my spouse and two kids. Is winning the DV the same they refer to as family immigration? Do I require an affidavit of support? If Yes, how to go about this affidavit of support? Please do a video giving step by step guide on the affidavit of support. Thank you.
December 14, 2020 at 21:47
No it is not family immigration.
Search my site for I-134.
December 14, 2020 at 21:02
Hi dear BritSimon,
Could you please help me to answer the following question:
I have requested police certificate from Bulgaria since I have lived there for more than 12 months. Do I need Apostile on Bulgarian police certificate? Or is it enough to provide certified translation from Bulgarian to English? If you have any idea, please help.
Thank you and may God bless you!
December 14, 2020 at 21:49
You should follow the instructions for Bulgaria and also for the country where you plan to interview.
December 15, 2020 at 02:03
Hi BritSimon,
We’re all anxiously waiting for December 31st to see if PP 100014 gets extended or not (my sister DV 2020 visa holder awaits for her chance to enter the country ) There is a good amount of risk that the ban will get extended given ongoing efforts of this administration to limit immigration until their last breath at the white house office. What are best actions to take to attract Biden administration attention to cancel the ban as soon as possible so that those 6000 people have a chance to enter the country before the visas expire around end of March? What would be best tools at our disposal to demand action? Is that petitioning, protesting peacefully in front of the white house, writing letters or calling Biden administration ? While January seems far away, if ban gets extended, time will be limited to save those folks and get a chance to enter. I would greatly appreciate if you could share your opinion on tools that you think are most effective to gain attention given the size of community (even counting in the great community of your followers)
Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
December 15, 2020 at 03:53
There is no need to do any of that. If the ban gets extended, Biden will most likely remove it. Relax.
December 15, 2020 at 07:04
Hi Britsimon ,
Thanks for all you efforts to help every one here ,I appreciate it .
I have my DV 2020 visa and want to book a flight from Toronto to New York City middle of January ,but there is no direct flights to JFK airport , They have US preclearance in Pearson airport in Toronto flying to Laguardia airport as a domestic flight, but I don’t know if they process immigrant visas , and the other option is to book a direct flight to Newark airport and do the processing there .
What do you suggest me to do ? and which option do you think is better for processing ?
Thanks again.
Sharif
December 15, 2020 at 12:03
I don’t know what would be best for you.
December 15, 2020 at 09:22
When u think dv 2020 interviews may start? Can they start in February or March or we should wait even more
December 15, 2020 at 12:04
I have answered this question hundreds of times – and I will say the same to you as everyone else. I don’t know. You have to wait.
December 15, 2020 at 10:27
Hi BritSimon!
When would it be “too late” to submit ds-260 for eu19k dv2021? April?
December 15, 2020 at 11:26
Dear Brit
I am DV2020 winner with 2 derivates from Nepal and our visa was issued on September 24th 2020, we are planning to come to USA on 7th January 2020 (if BAN’s not extended). Can we go to Canada after entering USA on same day we entered in USA. Because of this pandemic and few more reasons my sponsor cannot let us stay with them and I have my won brother in Canada few miles away from nigrafalls. So is it possible for us to go to Canada because of this circumstances. Thankx a lot
December 15, 2020 at 12:08
There is nothing stopping you doing that from the Green Card point of view.
December 15, 2020 at 11:30
Hi brit
1.Our university consists of several faculties that are located in different places. Should I write the name and address of the main university in the DS260 form or the name and address of the faculty I am going to? (The name of the main university appears in the documents.)
2.In the education section, should I write from the beginning of middle school (age 12) onwards?
December 15, 2020 at 12:09
1. Use your own judgement.
2. Approximately, yes.
December 15, 2020 at 18:20
Hi Brit, In the education section I only added University & High school ( 1 year) info.
1)I this going to cause an issue?
2) Should I ask KCC to unlock my application to rectify it?
Thanks.
December 15, 2020 at 18:44
Probably yes, because high school information was important back when I did my interview in Ethiopia dv 2018
December 15, 2020 at 19:21
1. I normally recommend people add education from around age 12 and up.
2. There is no harm in doing that.
December 15, 2020 at 22:28
Hi Brit, please an add-on question since I’m a bit skeptical. In my case, I only added University Degree and elaborated my job experience. My question is, 1. Can I leave the Ds form as it is without adding my high school details though I’m planning to send along the certified copies (High school Certificate and University Degree) to the interview.
2. From your view and experience in the past, what single document can I use as a stronghold to attest my job experience should let’s say I’m been asked to show proof. I read through your FAQ but still can’t get my head around it.
3.You believe I shouldn’t worry about (2) since my schooling certificates would suffice?
Thanks
.
December 16, 2020 at 03:07
1. Do what I said.
2. There is no single document
3. Probably.
December 15, 2020 at 13:30
Hi Brit!
I just saw somewhere that KCC have restarted the pending work i.e., they’ve started sending the ready to scheduling emails !
What do you reckon? Should we expect the 2NLs from January?
December 15, 2020 at 14:18
I hope so, but we will have to wait to see for sure.
December 15, 2020 at 14:24
Sorry! I mean to say from December ?
December 15, 2020 at 14:25
No – there is really no reason for them to start scheduling in December, considering they didn’t schedule in November.
December 15, 2020 at 16:54
Could You post the link where you got the information from. Thank you!
December 15, 2020 at 18:44
Hi Brit, hope you are doing well.
Going through these pages of Q&As I just realized that in DS 260 I have mentioned only my University Degree without mentioning High School. I have already submitted everything per “Further DV Documents Required”. Does it makes sense to go through the unlock/lock of DS260 just for adding High School or it would be enough to bring High School certificate at interview. EU20xxx
Thanks a lot for your support.
December 15, 2020 at 19:21
Since you are waiting for your number anyway – I would suggest you unlock and correct it.
December 15, 2020 at 23:21
Hey Brit, i’m a DV 2021 winner, regarding the work experience I have NO experience and I put unemployed in the form ds260, does this cause a problem on the day of the interview? looking at my age I am 30 years old, I have a high school diploma and other diplomas (university degree, vocational degree).
thank you for the clarification!
regards.
December 16, 2020 at 03:07
No problem.
December 16, 2020 at 00:03
Brit, I am from Indonesia. Had completed DS 260 back in June, but still haven’t received any email from KCC to.send more documents. I wonder if it takes that long to wait for the email? Thanks.
December 16, 2020 at 03:08
It can do, yes.
December 16, 2020 at 14:04
Thanks I worried I missed the email.
December 16, 2020 at 05:48

Secoundly my son would like U.S and he want stay legal which way to apply USCIS .

December 17, 2020 at 00:01
Please make your question more clear and make certain you give your region /case number range.
December 17, 2020 at 05:52
Hi. I am Ayoob from Myanmar (Burma). My nationality is Myanmar. I and my son got visit visa for 6 months to US in October 2019. We tried to came back to our home country in March 2020 but can’t come back because of the lockdown due to Covid. So I came back in October 2020 to my home country and my son is still staying there in US.
We got selected for Diversity Visa for 2021 for 4 family members would it be affected if we apply for DV visa as my son is in US.
When can we apply for DV visa as well?
Case number 2021ASXXXXXXXX
DS-260
December 17, 2020 at 06:06
Region,Myanmar(Burma) south east Asia
2021AS00027XXX
December 17, 2020 at 15:08
OK – I see you added your number. Note that I edited so you just reveal the range, not the exact number.
Your case number is quite high. That means you may never get current, but if you do it will not be until mid to late 2021. All you can do for now is wait. If you have not submitted your DS260 yet, I would suggest you wait until we know more.
December 17, 2020 at 15:06
You failed to give me the case number range and your question is still unclear.
As far as I can tell your son may be accruing illegal presence in the USA. That could cause him to be inelgible for a DV visa – so he should leave immediately.
I can’t answer when you can be processed because you did not do as I said.
December 16, 2020 at 06:52
Dear Brit Simon
My sponsor, he stay now in America nearly 5 years and he doesn’t get yet the normal nationality, he has the temporary one but he has his own work and home, so is there any problem to make him my sponsor even if he hasn’t full nationality, do I need to change him to another one.
Thanks in advance,
December 17, 2020 at 00:03
It depends on his current status. To sponsor you he should be a Green Card holder or citizen.
December 16, 2020 at 09:01
Hello Simon! I await your response on two issues related to the dv 2021 visa.
1. Is there any rule KCC follows to send the emails related to the scanned documents we are required to send them, because a friend of mine from the same country (Kosovo – EU) whose case number is (…20XXX) has received their e-mail, but me with case number …17XXX have not received it yet, although I have also submitted my DS 260 ahead of him.
2. While fulfilling my DS 260 I have made a little mistake relating the location of my high school. In stead of the name of the village it is located in, I have written the name of the municipality. Should I request they unlock my DS 260 to improve it, or should I leave it as it is. And does changing the DS 260 information delay the process of proceeding to the next phase.
Thank you!
December 17, 2020 at 00:07
1. That is not a problem. There are reasons why cases progress at different speeds, and there is no rule that says you have to be processed before higher case numbers.
2. No need to change that.
December 17, 2020 at 08:42
Thank you so much for your help
December 16, 2020 at 09:38
Hi Britsimon, hope all is well with u sir.? I’ve some worries. CN AF2021 15***. I have received the email requesting supporting docs. I filled the ds260 form for me and all my derivatives, now I realized I cannot sponsors all of us to immigrate at once, I then decided that I will sponsor only myself to go first.
1) will I send the supporting.docs only for me now? Or I must send for all derivatives although their docs are not going to be processed now.
2) when filling ds260 I answer “yes” where it was asked “are immigrating with all the family to US” sir will this not be a problem since I’m not travelling at once with them?.
December 17, 2020 at 00:09
First, read the attached link.
https://britsimonsays.com/faq/dv-process-versus-family-based-immigration/
If you are certain you cannot include them in your DV case, then inform KCC that only you will be processing now, and then only you need to send documents.
December 16, 2020 at 10:41
Hello Sir
I have two questions to ask
1)can a refugee win the Dv lottery.
2)Can the government support the refugees they win the Dv lottery program.
(I’m a refugee and it’s my first time to apply for the Dv lottery program)I also have a refugee travel document.
Thank you
December 17, 2020 at 00:09
1. Yes
2. Depends what you mean by “support”. There is no financial support for DV winners.
December 16, 2020 at 10:46
Hi BritSimon I am a DV 2021 winner from Ghana. I just watched your video you did some 11 hrs ago. I sent an email to KCC on the status of my case and this is what I received from KCC.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Your DS-260 has been processed. You should have received, or will soon receive, an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing. Please follow the instructions in the email. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Please refer to the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check dvlottery.state.gov.
Scheduling for the DV 2021 program year has not yet begun. Please monitor Travel.State.gov for updates. Selectees will be notified by an email to the address they provided to check the Entrant Status Check (ESC) website as soon as an interview is scheduled. KCC cannot provide information as to when an interview date may become available for your case. Interviews are scheduled numerically according to assigned case numbers which have completed processing. The Department of State designates how many interviews will be scheduled each month according to visa availability. You may refer to the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov for the list of current numbers. This information is updated on the 15th day of each month thereafter. Please remember that selection for participation in the Diversity Visa Program is not a guarantee of a visa or of a visa interview.
Thus this mean i will be scheduled for an interview as soon as possible when interview start. Thank you
December 17, 2020 at 00:11
No. It means they will send you an email asking for documents. It also means you will wait for your number to be current.
December 17, 2020 at 06:47
I have have submitted all documents in September. I received the above email two weeks ago
December 17, 2020 at 15:11
OK. But your interview date STILL depends on:
1. Your case number.
2. KCC actually scheduling interviews
3. Your embassy being open for interviews.
December 17, 2020 at 19:49
My case number is is around 6300
December 16, 2020 at 11:26
Good morning Brit, I am a 2021EU21xxx. I have a question about the “applicant information” on DS-260.
I have already sent three DS-260 out of four because my older son turned 21 on January this year. I have read about the CSPA and found out he will not be able to immigrate with us. For this reason I did not fill out his DS-260 and of course on my husband’s DS-260 as well as mine we filled out he will not immigrate with us. His DS-260 shows as “start now”. Now my case is at KCC and I even got the three confirmations of submission of the immigrant visa and alien registration.
My question:
With your experience do you think my case will be acknowledge as completed (and I have to wait for the paper request) or do they might think I forgot to fill out my son’s DS-260?
Thanks a lot for your help. Really appreciate it.
December 17, 2020 at 00:16
No – they will “ignore” your son from the process. If you want, you can email KCC and confirm that your son will not be proceeding, but their system will already have made that assumption based on his DOB.
December 16, 2020 at 11:47
Greetings! Is there any winner with case number 50k and above in the AF region that has receive the email requesting for documents? Or are they requesting following the case numbers on Visa Bulletin? And oh thanks A lot Mr. Simon not everybody comments but a lot of us go through ur channel and websites daily! It’s been so helpful and to an extend comforting!!
December 16, 2020 at 13:42
Hello! Normally they request following the CN and visa Bulletin. In AF region some people with 18k and 20k got email requesting for documents. So the 50k and above maybe in the next 2 or 3 months.
December 17, 2020 at 00:19
At the very beginning (early June) there would not have been much backlog, so a simple case might have been processed, even at higher range numbers. Once there is a backlog of submitted DS260s they switch to a case number order. But really there is no point in putting too much thought into that. All interviews are scheduled by case numbers anyway, so whether high case numbers have been asked for documents makes no difference.
December 16, 2020 at 15:14
Hi Simon,
I am Hong Kong winner (2021AS0000XXXX) living in Taiwan right now.
In Hong Kong, you need a request letter to apply police certificate. Hong Kong police force will send the certificate to consulate or immigration agency directly. Applicants will not receive the document. I have 2 questions here:
1.Who will provide the request letter? Consulate or KCC? I checked some old posts and seems that KCC cannot help (https://forums.immigration.com/threads/dv-2015-hong-kong-police-certificate-help.321536/)
2.I call AIT (American Institute in Taiwan) today and they response that they may able to provide request letter if KCC really cannot help. But they mention that they are not responsible to collect dv documents. Then who should receive my police certificate?
Thanks!
December 17, 2020 at 00:25
1. There are very clear instructions on the reciprocity page linked below. For the “letter from NVC” you could send your selected letter, the reciprocty page and a cover letter. You could also contact the authority on the numbers and email listed.
2. You first send the police certs scans to KCC and then later show them at the interview.
December 17, 2020 at 04:18
@wowongng
Here is my 2 cents worth.
Ideally the “Document Request Email” from KCC should be used as the request letter. Not sure if the HK Police will entertain any other form of request (in the case of application for immigration purpose) but it might worth trying following BritSimon’s suggestion if you have not yet received the doc request email from KCC. In case of incomplete application documents received, the HK Police will return the whole package of documents to you by post. ( Point 6. at https://www.police.gov.hk/ppp_en/11_useful_info/cert_no_crime_overseas.html )
Now the question is, if you do not have the KCC document request email but still want to apply for the HK Police Cert “in advance”, all these mailing of documents back and forth might cause further delay if the application documents your presented are deemed incomplete by the HK Police. Are you willing to take the risk or will you wait until you get your KCC document request email?
Another complication of your case is that you are applying from Taiwan. Where would you be having your interview? In the case of having the interview in HK, the HK Police will send the police cert to the US consulate by post directly according to the HK reciprocity page. Where do you think the HK Police will send your police cert to? They will not be sending it directly to the applicant and I don’t think they will send it to someone of your choice, in your case of not having a specific requester. ( Point 9. at https://www.police.gov.hk/ppp_en/11_useful_info/cert_no_crime_overseas.html )
Sorry if I have raised more uncertainty than offered answers.
I will be processing a HK police cert application from overseas next month. Perhaps I will share my experience on the forum.immigration.com for you to take reference of then.
December 17, 2020 at 08:18
Thank you Simon!
@Another HKer, nice to see you here! I received the document request email from KCC few days ago. My family will help me to apply police certificate. Also they call US consulate of HK and consulate reply that they will provide police certificate request letter. I guess I should be patience right now?
I misunderstand that the police certificate would be sent to KCC, it seems not. The only way I believe is US consulate of HK receives the certificate and sends to KCC.
And there is no doubt that I will have my interview in Taiwan
December 17, 2020 at 10:07
@wowongng
That is great! I guess the US consulate in HK should know how to liaise with KCC once they receive the HK police cert. Another piece of advice you might want to consider is that a copy of the payment receipt for the HK police cert application should also be sent to KCC with the other civic documents as evidence.
Good luck.
December 16, 2020 at 18:05
Hi dear BritSimon. I have won dv2021 and waiting a 2nd email from KCC. The US Embessy is closed in my country, because of covid situation. But I have 10 years multi entry turist visa to enter US. May I go to US and take a layer and get my green card there? I don’t want to wait so long to get my interview and then Immigrant visa. Please advise.
December 17, 2020 at 00:27
No. You cannot enter the USA with an intention to adjust status. You need to be careful about that.
If the embassy still does not open by the time you would need an interview, you might consider switching to another embassy.
December 16, 2020 at 18:06
Hey Brit, I am a DV 2021 selectee and I forgot to mention the blue collar job I did during my stay in Australia in DS260. First question is will that be a problem during interview? And secondly, if it does, then should I unlock DS260 and correct it? Please advise me.
Thank you in advance. Have a great day.
December 17, 2020 at 00:28
You should probably unlock and correct to more accurately explain how you supported yourself.
December 16, 2020 at 20:01
Peace I always appreciate your good work from Ethiopia. Going back to my question, my sponsor has been out of DV for over 2 years and has a job. ds 260 I’m full So if I have to change sponsor what do I do? Thank you.
December 17, 2020 at 00:29
I think you mean your sponsor is a Green Card holder – so that should be fine. If you want to change sponsor, you simply present an I-134 from the other sponsor at your interview.
December 17, 2020 at 02:27
Thanks. Not to change the sponsor to clarify the request. I became a sponsor because I had information that the person was required to live in the United States for 5 years or more.

Hello Britsimon!
Thank you very much för you advices! Today i received an email from KCC with following text: Congratulations! Our records indicate that your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current and appointments are available. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on region and which case numbers have already been processed.
My case nr is 20201AF84** which is a low number för Africa and that is why i am wondering if i should expect to have interview on May or June?
The US embassy in Cairo is one of the embassies which did not open for interview even after judge Mehta has ordered for that, and they did not extend the visa for any DV2020 case. I have even watched a video of Charles Kuck talking about the US embassy in specific, please watch that video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lU_l-9vLh-k&t=772s and specificlly minut nr 11:50 where he only picked out the US embassy in Egypt to show how big the problem is. Do you think the new administration with the new secretary of state will be able to change this behave and order the embassy to open for interviews?
Best regards
Meral

I don’t know what will happen at Cairo embassy. No one can know the future that well.
December 17, 2020 at 07:24
Hi Brit,
Thanks for your latest live video. it was really helpful.
I am from the people that were lucky enough to get the visa in September so I am planning to travel on January 1 or 2 irrespective of what Trump does. if Trump extends the PP I want to take my chances. my concern is this : if the PP gets extended is there a risk that the airlines wont allow me to board on the flight ? or they just care if you have a valid visa or not ?
Also, I want to comment on your remarks about travel restriction in the US. I might be wrong but every state has its own guidelines and some require a PCR test and Quarantine time ( Such as New York )
this link is very helpful for travels to comply with : it is always updated

I currently reserved ticket to come to the United States on Jan 8th with DV2020
ENTRY SUBJECTED TO PP10014.
Since the Immigration Ban ends on Dec 31, 2020. I heard from other DV Lottery Winners that they had reserved their tickets for Jan 1st or Jan 2nd, because there might potentially be an extension to the Immigration Ban on Jan, this is true? If yes, Shall I reschedule it for Jan 1st or 2nd, So it would be safer for me to travel and do the Check in before the extension is activates. Ur advice is needed, and thank you for ur continues support ??
December 17, 2020 at 15:35
The ban could be extended, that is certainly possible, but if it is extended there is nothing technically that means there must be a gap that makes Jan 1 entry safer than Jan 8. So – if you want to change your ticket because Trump might re-implement the ban after Jan 1 but before the 8th, then go ahead and change, but I think that is unlikely to happen.
December 17, 2020 at 15:59
Thank you for your advice,
that means what happened in 22 June – 24 June PP was an incident. And will not happen again after 31 December!
December 17, 2020 at 18:29
It could happen, there is just no technical reason why it must.
December 17, 2020 at 15:14
During the ban (if it is extended) some airlines may understand the rules (and therefore not allow you to travel), but some won’t.
My suggestion to everyone is to check for themselves what tests might be required for their travel plan, and keep updated. I obviously don’t track that for all routes and all destinations.

Hi Brit I found this later in the travel GOV sites news page:
https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/AILA/AILA-Agenda-Fall-2020.pdf
I try to understand if there are some relevant information there regarding 2NL and interview scheduling, but the latter is to technical with a lot of abbreviations. Pleas you remarks regarding this later and if it relevant for DV2021 interviews.
December 17, 2020 at 15:33
It’s an interesting link, but nothing directly concerning DV lottery.

December 17, 2020 at 10:20
Hi Brit, I am from Azerbaijan. And Azeri people have to get immigration visa in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Georgia said that they will probably will restrict anyone entering till July 2021, I Have EU25xxx (plus I am in Anunciato case as plaintiff).
What I will have to do? So for me it means END of DV2021 due COVID? (Unless that my number will be scheduled in August 2021/September 2021
Thank You.
December 17, 2020 at 15:37
I suggest you arrange to interview elsewhere. Think about other countries where you could travel and the embassies are open.
December 17, 2020 at 15:43
I didn’t selected in DS-260 Tbilisi, Georgia. It was selected by KCC because Azeri citizens are held interviews there ONLY.
As I told many people from Azerbaijan/Armenia are failed to get their visa just because that situation. And U.S. Embassy knows it and still schedule interviews while knowing that they cannot go into Georgia.
I am currently gathering information and contacts from DV2020 people who was scheduled an interview in Georgia and failed due U.S. Government failed them. I will give that information to Curtis and Kuck Charles.
Thank you.
December 17, 2020 at 15:45
I already did. The Turkey. But on their web-site it says they stopped ANY immigration visa processing due COVID+PP14/52. We will see how it gets.
December 17, 2020 at 19:21
?
December 17, 2020 at 23:29
So what do you think an Azeri citizen does if they live in Paris? You think they can ONLY go to Georgia? Of course not.
December 17, 2020 at 11:36
Britsimon, Truely we appreciate your help and support, my question is after I unlock my DS260, can I change my sponsor information to another before I submited it again.
Thanks.
December 17, 2020 at 15:38
Yes
December 17, 2020 at 11:47

My question is will my interview will be delayed or not
December 17, 2020 at 15:39
Well everyone is being delayed at the moment, but your unlocking would not normally cause delay.
December 17, 2020 at 12:05

December 19, 2020 at 14:52
Then I don’t know what the problem is.
December 17, 2020 at 15:24
Hello Brit, Thank you for your support.
I got visa on September, I had one sponsor in DS-260 form (person A, New York), I changed the sponsor in interview (person B, California), now I want to go with another person (person C, Virginia), Can I go to third address? In which address my green card will be sent?
December 17, 2020 at 15:47
Yes you can go whereever you want. The GC will be sent to the US address on the DS260. You can try to change that at the port of entry, but that doesn’t work 100% of the time, so sometimes it gets sent to the address in the DS260.
December 22, 2020 at 04:14
Thank you so much sir
December 17, 2020 at 17:05
Hello Mr. Brit,
My passport was about to expire so I renewed my passport 2 days ago. I used my old passport while filling the ds260. KCC requested and confirmed my documents in July therefore I sent the picture of my old passport to KCC. Now should I send the photo of my new passport? People say no action is required, the only thing I should do is to bring my old and new passport to visa interview, is that correct? Thank you.
December 17, 2020 at 18:54
Given your low number and the fact that your documents are processed, I would advise to just take your new (and old) passports to the interview.
December 17, 2020 at 17:26
hii simon!well my ds260 number is AS15xxxx, have they started processing that number toll for the interviews and also is it a necessary to add our high school in the educational qualification in the form when filling?
December 17, 2020 at 18:56
No it will be some time before they get to your number. It will be months before you have a chance to interview.
Yes your DS260 should detail your education from about 12 years old and up through HS, college and so on.
December 17, 2020 at 20:04
I greet Simon Thank you for helping us with the questions I am a 2020 DV winner. My big question is when I enter my visa application status he writes your search did not return any data.so what’s wrong sir
December 17, 2020 at 20:49
Unfortunately your big question is too vague to answer. Be more clear please.
December 17, 2020 at 21:27
Hi dear friend. With your help parents are in the USA now for a year already. I am very thankful for your help. Now, they want to file I 130 form for me and my brother. I just would like to know where can I have such an information where it is as organized as in your site and will guid me in this process. Thanks in advance.
December 18, 2020 at 00:12
Good question – but I’m sorry – I don’t know of another site like this that focusses on I-130 processing.
December 17, 2020 at 21:29

December 19, 2020 at 12:11
alright Brit.will act accordingly.much grateful
December 18, 2020 at 00:05
Hello Brit, I hope you are doing well. I think my question is simple, but I can’t seem to find an answer. Does it create any problems if a derivative enters the usa separately (and after) the primary dv visa holder? Thank you kindly!
December 18, 2020 at 05:24
Hi Brit, I saw in ur latest Live Q n A u said we can get more info about case numbers once CEAC data is released on 2021 January. But not like other years, as year 2021 ddnt start interviews yet, what information CEAC will show for DV 2021?
December 18, 2020 at 05:30
Hi Brit, why do you think visa bulletin is not released this month? 15 of this month is already passed. Thanks
December 18, 2020 at 14:16
The VB has been released after the 15 pretty much every month for the whole of 2020.
December 18, 2020 at 07:41
Mr Simon
1• Is there any harm if I received the I-134 before the interview date is around?
2• can one get the I-134 from someone else but the sponsor ?
December 18, 2020 at 14:18
1. No – as long as you get updated supporting documents nearer the interview.
2. Yes.
December 18, 2020 at 08:27
Hi Simon
Just wanted to ask for the current status of DV2020 people with visas issued in September that are subject to PP10014. Taking into consideration that Trump extends the ban….
From what I understand the outcome that can bring any relief for people with such visas are the Gomez case (however April doesn’t seem promising to us), Anunciato case (if class action is granted) or simply Biden canceling the extended ban. Since extension of those visas is very unlikely…
Did I miss anything? Thank you for your help!
December 18, 2020 at 14:24
Why not just wait and see if Trump extends.
