Q1. my sponsor is leave in Georgia savanna city and he previously welcomed two ppl before a year ago and and he submitted affidavit-of-support-i-134 for them so dose this have an effect for my 5 families for us for being a sponsor ?
Q2, if we can get a cosponsor from other state is that possible to bring our cosponsor affidavit-of-support-i-134 form on the interview date or what we have to do? please Brit need your help what to do ?
Q3.look Brit now i am searching for a cosponsor if i get one what i have to do to let know for them?
Q4. i have complete their appointment registration at usvisa-info.com after that what things i have to do after i complete my appointment registration? please let me know if there is any other processes ?
Q3. i am only grade 12 complete and i started authenticating my documents but is that necessary to authenticating my spouse degree and his document? just in case if they want to see his education for my support
Q4. on the interview date is that a must to bring my spouse education and work experience document?
Q5. is there any consideration for female applicant, and family based applicant?
December 30, 2016 at 17:38
1. Yes possibly. If they still have a record of his previous sponsorship that could have an affect.
2. Use one sponsor or the other. You don’t use a CO -sponsor
3. See 2
4. No other process other than to prepare your documents and take the medical.
5. Only the principal selectee will be asked for education documents.
6. No – see 5
7. No difference.

I have any question about education requirement in dv lottery,
I had my high school diploma (12 years of basic course in formal school in my country)

So which one i have to choose for the education requirement?
Is it :

Since some people said that vocational school in ineligible for dv lottery program?
Thank you for the answer, its very helpful
December 31, 2016 at 07:10

The vocational education does not help meet the educational requirement.

Hi simon,
I am dv winner of 2017. I submitted my ds260 when I was in my home country. I choose adjustment of status because I I got student visa before submitting ds 260 and came to USA. My case no is current for january. I got second letter and I came to know that it takes too long time for adjustment of status so i requested kcc to change my interview location to home country and they also changed before 15 days ago. Could you plz tell me when will be my new interview date. Also, I came USA after submitting ds260 ( in july) and now I am in USA from august but i have not included my usa address in ds 260. Should I include this address? If yes how can I include this. Does this delay processing ds260?
I am grateful if you answer my queries. Thank you.

January 1, 2017 at 15:26
You probably made a misinformed decision. Switching from AOS to CP means your DS260 processing must start from the beginning – so that can take months. Staying on AOS would probably have been faster. You can unlock your DS260 to update addresses etc, but I would suggest you contact KCC to ask what state your case shows, because you normally have to provide a foreign address for CP and a USA address for AOS. So, I can’t really understand what you have done.
January 3, 2017 at 18:38
I changed interview location because my wife has also applied as dependent with me and she is now in home country. If I choose AOS, it will be uncertain for my wife thats why I chaged to CP. I emailed them and they replied saying your interview location has changed from AOS to my home country. I also called KCC to update my ds 260 and they told you can unlock your ds 260 to make necessary changes. I think I need to update present US address, information on ” have you ever been in USA” and about social security number because I have SSN now.
Today I emailed them to unlock. How much time it take to unlock? Initially I submitted in july 21.
I need your suggestion for this.
Could you guess when will be my interview?
I am grateful for your help.
Thank you.
January 3, 2017 at 18:45
Unlocking takes from a day or two to a week or two.
I can’t guess when you will interview, other than to say your DS260 will take some months to process.
January 3, 2017 at 19:20
Thank you simon.
I have one more question to you.
If I put USA address in current address and choose for CP. Is this okay? Or, the current address should be home country address for consular processing. I am planning to go home country if they schedule interview date.
Sorry for your time.
January 1, 2017 at 08:14
Hi Simon,
I’m in Oceania and my case number is 695. The visa bulletin list has my number down for February interviews, however I have not received a 2NL. When I check the entrant status I don’t have an update or appointment scheduled, and my CAEC states “at NVC”. I submitted my form end August, is it fair to assume I’m delayed because my paperwork has not been processed and will be interviewed in another month? Or does this mean that I have missed my opportunity?
Cheers.
January 1, 2017 at 15:20
It is because of your late DS260 submission. Once your DS260 is process they will schedule you in the next monthly batch of interviews. That means a March or April interview.

Hi Brit
I have a question for you.
After submitting your DS260 Form is the Embassy going to sent your interview appointment letter to your Email address or what?

January 1, 2017 at 11:03
HELLO SIMON
having received my appointment,am now registering it as the procedure requires us to register less than 7 days to the interview.
Am confused about some thing,as i was going about my registration i was asked for ”DS-260 NUMBER”, what number could it be??
,is it the ” “Confirmation number” below the case number?
does an applicant and derivative have the same DS-260 number??
January 1, 2017 at 15:12
Each person will have their own DS260 number – shown on the DS260 confirmation page.
January 8, 2017 at 20:05
Hi Brits, do you need to register for another procedure after you have received your 2NL. Am asking with re guides to Muwonge’s question.
January 8, 2017 at 20:52
Some embassies require you to register with a courier service after you have the 2NL. This will be communicated to you if required.
January 1, 2017 at 11:51
Sir, i want to ask you, i applied for a conference in USA but i discover there was a mistake on my place of birth, so i decided not to go for the interview, when i was called upon. now now i and my wife won a lottery. my question is will the embassy still retained or have my information with the fact that i did not go for the interview? thank you
January 1, 2017 at 14:14
Hi Brti
Happy new year with your family and GOD BLESS YOU
January 1, 2017 at 14:22
first i would like to say HAPPY NEW YEAR DEAR SIMON. 🙂
I’VE TWO QUESTIONS SIR
CN:2017AF000025XX
1.On ds260 form i only filled my current education status which is that am a student at a university but forgets to add my high school background so SHOULD I UNLOCK MY FORM now or shall i leave it as it is since i’ll show my high school transcripts and diploma on the interview day.
Additiional Info: i’m current and got an email reply from kcc last december saying that my case is completed processing and waiting further embassy review to be schedured.
2.who’s going to be processing my case if i unlock my form now?it’ll go back to kcc or my local embassy will review it the additional info.
Thanks sir!
January 1, 2017 at 15:10
1. I would unlock and correct that – it is up to you.
2. The case is still with KCC until it is scheduled.
January 1, 2017 at 15:42

January 1, 2017 at 16:13
It’s high end, but not the highest.
January 1, 2017 at 16:37
hello Brit once again.
your answer has worried me now..
My wife just registered for our interview, every thing was right but the problem is ,she the same ds-260 number for both of us.
she completed every thing until the final page displayed that registration completed.
now that it shows “registration complete, can we just wait and explain this on the interview date??or we ignore that and open a new account again and register with different ds-260.??
or have we been disqualified??
January 1, 2017 at 17:02
You need to relax! Calm down, nothing went wrong. Stop overthinking the whole thing.
January 1, 2017 at 17:47

Hi,
My husband recently changed his job.
We are currently waiting for the interview appointment with the embassy, our documents already being processed. What should we do?
Should we contact the Kentucky consular service and let them know to update our Ds 260?
Thank you
January 1, 2017 at 21:34
There is no need to update for that.
January 2, 2017 at 00:54

So OK – I see you have asked me several times before. The last time, I told you to contact KCC. What did they say?
January 2, 2017 at 01:38

January 2, 2017 at 01:49

January 2, 2017 at 01:43

1.Please how could i follow my green card status? I tried in the uscis website by entering my receipt no. it says user defined error.
2.weeks ago i applied for SSN so, when do i have to expect my SSN?
January 2, 2017 at 01:49
1. The GC will take 3 to 4 months to arrive. So relax and think about something else.
2. It normally takes 2 to 3 weeks.
January 2, 2017 at 02:04
Hello mr. Simon how are you doing

Hi mr. Simon. I asked you earlier that I have two arrest which resulted In” No further action”. I need to unlock the DS260 that I submited In september, my case number is Eu-90**,
1.The thing is people are telling me that the right way of adding information to DS form is when interview sceduled by writing to Embassy. In that case your case will not be placed In a cue again. But In your Faq you saying that you can not add any information after your interview was appointed. Whichever is true.
2. if i reopen my case Now , will the cue proccess starts again or shall I receive an invitation in an expacted time. I expacted it in march.
January 2, 2017 at 16:35
1. What “people” are telling you is wrong. Unlock.
2. Delay is better than denial! Stop procrastinating!
January 2, 2017 at 14:47

HI Brits
My CN is 2017AF00015xxx and i have gone for my interview 2 weeks ago.The outcome was AP because the CO wanted to verify my High School Certificate and the CO told me the embassy will call me.
Qst 1.Can this take a longer time? because am aware the embassy has access to the database of the high school results in Ghana and i know my cert is very genuine.
Qst 2.And ever since i went for my interview the DS 260 site https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Default.aspx has been under maintenance for some weeks now and it doesn’t show any current update eg.Visa Fee Paid, i tried to use the CEAC https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx which also tell me my CN is invalid. pls i dont know whats wrong pls help me.Thanks
January 3, 2017 at 07:51
1. The time varies. If it is ONLY the education checking that normally gets resolved within a month or so.
2. Try the second link again. Remove the leading zeros. The first link is not useful at this time.
January 3, 2017 at 08:15
Thanks soo much for quick response

1. 6 months after the medical
They send the GC to the address on the DS260. You can update that address at the interview and finally at the POE. That will be your last chance so the address must be correct by then.

Thank you, is there any special place we need to walk to at the airport, or does the airport straff help us? I guess they ser The dv thingie inside The passport when they check it

It’s just immigration control. You won’t be allowed into the country unless you have gone through immigration – so no need to worry.

Hi SIR BRIT
Hope you are doing well
I have a question for you sir
Regarding my name on the diploma..
I am from DR CONGO residing in south africa i am a DV winner 2017
There is a lil mistake jst for one letter of name on it….
My name’s MWANZA
But on the diploma is wrote MUANZA
This name can be wrote in two different ways but same pronunciation…
And on all my documents even on my passport the name is wrote with W except my diploma with U…
So the question is now..
Can it affect me at the interview?
Or i need to have a a proof of my name as a letter ( name confirmation)?
Thanks SIR

I don’t know if it will be a problem. Additional proof that it is your diploma would be wise.

Hi Simon:
Hope you are well – wish you a very happy year 2017.
I have two questions (apologies if I overlooked information provided on this site):
1) As per the URL you provided for checking the processing status, I get my status as “At NVC”.
My case number is 2017EU17xxx – which is presently current but I submitted on 31st August so I am expecting Interview call in January or February for the interview in March or April (respectively).
When I check the processing status, I see this finer detail:
Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete.
As per the above snippet, there seem to be six steps to be followed (including payment of “various fees”) before I can expect interview appointment to be scheduled – is this applicable for DV lottery selectees? I am not aware of any upfront fee payment before the interview.

Ignore the 6 steps. Read this. https://britsimonsays.com/2017-ceac-system-available/

Apologies – I submitted prematurely..
2) Second question I have is about the sponsorship – Is it required to have a sponsor in USA for DV Lottery? What if I have sufficient funds for a family of four?
Thanks,
Taps

Please respond when you can.

You can show savings – typically a family of four would need to show at least $25k.
