Hello Simon,
I am planning to marry my boyfriend in June. We’ve been dating for 3 years now and we prefer keep our personal life private so we don’t share our photos on social media.
1. Will that be an issue when we have to prove our relationship is true?
2. Is there a possibility to reject my ds 260 form due to not posting couple photos on social media?
P. S. We have plenty of photos of ours in our Google drive and Snapchat memories.
May 18, 2022 at 18:35
1. Maybe.
2. Yes – show the proof you have.

Greetings Sir. Thanks a lot for the information you share with us concerning the DV lottery.
I am a DV-2023 winner from Cameroon. My case number is 2023AF52xxx.
Please I have 2 questions to ask.
1) Considering the fact that my case number is large(52xxx) do I stand a chance of getting my documents processed and getting my interview here in Cameroon?
2) Also, I am a second year student in the university. when filling the DV lottery application form, I choosed highest level of education achieved as SOME UNIVERSITY COURSES. I noticed that on the DS 260 application form, when I chose highest level of education completed as university with no degree, under the question to fill all educational institutions attended at secondary level or above, I need to put high school and university (2 educational institutions attended). But I am still in the university and I will graduate in 2024. I can’t put the end date when I am still in the university. Please should I just put highest level of education completed as high school and put the number of educational institutions attended at a secondary level or above as 1 or what do you think I should do? Because I was afraid that since I chose some university courses when filling the DV lottery form and now choosing high school degree could be inconsistency meaning I wasn’t honest at the very beginning. Please what should I do?
May 19, 2022 at 18:40
1. It is too soon to know how high your case number is and how Cameroon will be operating over the next 12 to 15 months. So – no predictions.
2. Forget what you entered in the beginning for that question. University is your current occupation – not education completed.
May 28, 2022 at 16:45
Thank you very much for your reply Sir. I am very grateful. I have filled the DS 260 form, I wrote highest level of education completed as high school since I am still in the university (undergraduate student) and number of educational institutions attended as 2 starting from age 11( ordinary level and advanced level certificates included). Please I wish to ask 4 questions
1) since I am not currently working and still in the university and haven’t work for a professional or charity organization, should that be any reason why a person be denied a visa?
2)Do I need to take an affidavit of support to the interview?
3)While filling the DS-260, I spelled out my certificates obtained, I wrote General certificate of education advanced level for high school and general certificate of education ordinary level for secondary school, is that correct? Or I was supposed to write only degree or just write diploma?
4)In the DS260 application, since Cameroon does not have a postal or zip code, I wrote 237(the country code) does that have any negative effect at the level of the interview?
While waiting on your reply, I remain grateful sir
June 1, 2022 at 17:32
1. No
2. Yes that is wise.
3. More info is better
4. No
June 2, 2022 at 04:20
Thank you very much for your reply sir. I am very grateful. May God continue to bless you.

Hello britsimon have a question, am permanent resident in the US came with dv 2020 and my husband is a 2024AF36k dv selectee and just got current with the 40k bulletin ,so after we got legally married in 2022 i petition for him but the i130 is not approved yet and still in process , he also have 2 visa denials f1 visa and visit visa in the past can this affect his chances of being approved or should i cancel the petition process before he gets his 2nl.thank you waiting for your reply
January 14, 2024 at 09:01
No need to cancel anything. Just let the processes continue and if the DV process works then you can halt the I-130.
May 15, 2022 at 21:25
Hi Simon. Thanks for all of the help you are providing to the community here. My case number is 2023OC000025XX. My boyfriend and I wish to move to the USA together so we are thinking about getting married soon so that I can add him to my DS-260 form. Getting married will take us a minimum of 1 month due to the notice requirements that apply where we are living. My question is whether you think we need to rush to arrange the marriage ASAP? When would you recommend ensuring the DS-260 form is submitted by?
May 18, 2022 at 18:36
You can marry first. Your case number is high, so you have a long wait anyway.
May 15, 2022 at 23:07
Hi Mr Brit!
If we got the email from KCC that you are slotted for interview and designated at embassy, then is it by case number order the AV list or queue that we are on? Or is the processed that apply when being put on that list? Would there be numbers higher than ours in front of us on the AV list. I read your blog but still wasn’t clear on this question so please let me know. Thank you! 2022EU107XX.
May 18, 2022 at 18:54
We don’t have access to the queue details.
May 15, 2022 at 23:14
Hello Sir
I am the main applicant and my interview is in July in Cairo. My husband has a short business trip to Turkey within 2 weeks.
1- If I traveled with him would this cause my case to be AP in the interview?
2- If he traveled alone would this also cause our case to be AP ?
Thank you very much for your help and care.
May 18, 2022 at 18:54
1 & 2. Probably not.
May 15, 2022 at 23:25
Hello Brit,
I’m a DV lottery winner for 2023 with case number AF25XXX. Looking at the 2022 data i realized that embassy in Togo, Burkina faso, Ivory Coast have have interviewed applicants with high case numbers (AF60K) and above unlike my home country embassy (GHANA) which the highest case number interviewed so far are in the 18K.
1. Looking at this trend can I consider selecting one of the neighboring embassy’s as the embassy I want to be interviewed?
2. if Yes, All these neighboring countries are French speaking countries and I feel the interview process and documents inspections might be complicated. Kindly advice
May 18, 2022 at 18:55
1. You can try to change.
2. That is a factor you should consider.
May 20, 2022 at 11:46
Hi John, I’m also a dv23 winner from Ghana. I was also worried about this. I’ve already started my ds-260 form, I can no more change the interview location. I don’t know if there’s other ways I can do that.
If you don’t mind let’s meet somewhere kinda private to discuss about it and many other places Telegram: pfoden
May 16, 2022 at 02:07
Hi Britsimon
OC23xx for DV 2022 here. Just wanted to know I just checked my status for my case on the CEAC website and it said ‘Currently at NVC’. Should I be concerned as I see many people with higher case numbers that are ready for scheduling or have been issued visas. A week ago I emailed the US consulate in Fiji to have my case transferred from Sydney to Suva, though do you think i should not have done this if my case is still at the NVC stage. I initally submitted my DS 260 in Sep 2021 and then unlocked and resubmitted again in late Oct 2021 to fix up a few mistakes.
May 17, 2022 at 21:28
disregard. I managed to get a 2nl yesterday for Suva. just me being a worrywart
May 17, 2022 at 23:33
Hi Shezza, I’m OC24XX so very interested in your experience. My current consulate is Sydney but not at 2NL as yet. Is your interview with Suva soon? Any insights would be much appreciated as I’m also a worrywart and was thinking about doing this same move to Suva. Prue
May 19, 2022 at 11:12
Hi Prue
I’d definitely recommend going the Fiji route as I’m not sure if the Sydney embassy will open up soon and if it does there maybe a backlog. Email the US Suva Embassy. [email protected]
A number of us from Australia are doing this. All you need to say is your requesting case transfer due to Sydney Embassy being closed and include the following below. They are pretty prompt in replying. It took about 10 days from the time i requested to get the 2nl. Not sure how it is now. A bunch of us have got interviews in July, though for you it could be in the latter months.

Great tips. Thanks Shezza.
May 20, 2022 at 20:39
Thank you so much, Shezza! Much appreciated. Fingers crossed for me & best of luck at your interview!!
May 18, 2022 at 14:12
Hi Shezza, I am in the same situation and was also contemplating reaching out to Suva so exciting to hear about your success. Case number OC24xx for DV 2022, Sydney consulate currently selected. Would you mind sharing the month your interview date is in? Just so I can get an understanding of Suva’s timeline. I’m also a worrywart.
May 18, 2022 at 22:56
There ya go!
May 18, 2022 at 19:04
Suva is your best chance, for at least as far as we can tell right now. So – keep your fingers crossed.
May 16, 2022 at 03:27
Hi simon
I am DV2022 winner, Asian country
How many visas issued for dv 2022 winners up to April 2022 out of 55000 visas (Principle visas)?
If not, can they complete whole thing before end of September 2022?
thx
May 18, 2022 at 19:16
Remember, each of the derivatives are also contained in the 55,000 quota. So – right now there are around 14,000 issued visas, 7600 of which are principals. They have over 20,000 people scheduled as of now so it is clear they are trying to get as close to the limit as possible, but I suspect they will achieve between 45k and 50k issuances.
May 16, 2022 at 03:57
Hi Simon,
I won the DV2023 Lottery and there is a different in name of my spouse with the Surname on Passport and form which I filled for lottery. When I fill the DS 260 what will the best path to fill it.
May 18, 2022 at 19:18
The DS260 should be completed with the accurate legal name, and there is also a space for other names used.
May 16, 2022 at 07:15
Dear Simon,
Thank you for your kind help us for DV winner.
I have some questions regarding case queue, lets say Mr X CN 40K and he sent his DS-260 may and he receive kcc email current for interview on march query. And Mr Y CN 5K sent his DS-260 July on March he didn’t DQ but when he ask again on May kcc repay current for interview. So now in the above scenario which CN get first 2NL?
Thank you in advance!!!
May 18, 2022 at 19:41
The government staff are saying the AV cases are ordered in CN order. However, there are some that believe they have identified instances where that hasn’t happened.
May 16, 2022 at 09:10
Hi Simon!
I’m a winner of DV2023. I’m originally from Afghanistan (Holder of an Afghan Passport). I’ve born in Iran and lived my entire life there until last year when I got Turkey’s visa and moved to Turkey. (I have a student residence permit in Turkey). Also 4 years ago I traveled to Afghanistan for some paperwork (I stayed 2 days in Afghanistan and then returned to Iran.)
my question is about this part in DS-260 form:
“Have you traveled to any countries/regions within the last five years?”
based on what I said above what countries should I add? I’ve been born and live in Iran is it considered travel? what about Turkey (I have a residence in Turkey)? and what about Afghanistan? which one of them should I add?
May 18, 2022 at 19:43
Just answer the questions. Travel is different to residence.
May 16, 2022 at 09:45
Hello Simon! Thank you for the excellent work you’re doing! Can you please provide me with more info to apply for a job the company you work for? I heard you told a software engineer in your Q&A that they’re hiring 🙂
Cheers

Hi
First of all, I want to thank you for your help and all your hard work. I have few questions to ask. My wife is DV2023 winner, her case number is 2023EU27XXX. Here are my questions
1) Her current passport expires in August 2022. So the passport listed in her DV entry was valid at the time (October 2021) but will became invalid. In our country it is possible to get a new one six before expiration of the passport, so I want to know which passport should we enter into the DS-260 form, the passport that we used in the DV Entry or the new passport?
2) Myself, as derivative in the application, have been previously in the United States(2010) with J-1(student) Visa for 4 months. I worked and live there, also i had a SSN (i think temporary). so I want to know should I list the adress and work experience in the US in my previously adresses and work experiences? What about the SSN, should I enter that SSN or I will get a new one (if I get a visa)??
3) I am aware that in this moment you don’t have enough data about the case numbers, but by your experience and knowledge, is our case number good (likely to get an interview)???
May 18, 2022 at 19:49
Notehow I edited the case number you gave.
1. New one
2. Yes list your experience accurately. You will keep the same SSN number but you can apply for a new card.
3. I don’t know

Hi Simon,
I am a dv lottery winner with the case number 2023EU35K. I am from Azerbaijan, but live in Kuwait. There is a possibility that we will be moving from Kuwait by the end of 2022. I am thinking of applying for interview in Georgia as it is very hard to enter Kuwait if you don`t have residency. Do I need to do my medical in Georgia or Azerbaijan`s medical will also be accepted be US embassy in Georgia? Thank you
May 18, 2022 at 19:53
You do not book a medical until scheduled for interview. You perform the medical local to the embassy you interview at.

Hello,
Il a PhD student in law, living in Paris since 2014 and I had my interview last week in Paris (DV2022). The consular started to asking me questions about Iran because of my Iranian nationality. When was the last time that I’ve been there, If I had ever worked for the Iranian government and so on…So actually It wasn’t a normal interview and was so stressful! Finally the consular told me that I had to fill out the DS 5535 form and send them quickly, so they can issue my visa! I asked him if there is a problem with my application, and he said that I’m a good candidate and that nothing went wrong in my interview. They also kept my passport and birth certificate. I sent them the same day the completed form.
So as my visa status is right now “refused” I’m a little afraid of being “really” rejected just because of my nationality. Is it possible? How long do you think it takes to receive a response from them? If I’m definitely rejected right now, they will send me back my documents next week for example right?
I appreciate it if you could help me with that…
Thanks,
May 18, 2022 at 19:55
Iranians (especially males) go through additional security checks. That process can take months – so you can only wait and see what happens. I cannot predict the timeline nor outcome.
May 18, 2022 at 20:10
Thank you so much for your response. So is it possible that they dont give me any answer until september and I lose completely my chance ? (By the way I am a woman and Its been 8 years that I dont leave in Iran. So I didnt think that they will ask me for additional security check..)
May 19, 2022 at 04:55
Yes it is possible to run out of time.
May 16, 2022 at 12:49
Hi B.Simon,
I am a selectee of DV 2022- 2022OC1801. I completed/submitted my DS260 in October and still waiting for the KCC to process my case. I am Australian Citizen and I was born in Iran and I’ve been living in Australia for a while. My question is in my application I provided the following information and my case number is allocated to OC please let me know if I’ve done something wrong here and if I can fix the issue.
City of Birth: Tehran
Country/Region of Birth: Iran
Country/Region of Origin (Nationality): Australia
Country issued the document: Australia
Do you hold any other nationality: Yes, Iran
Regards,
Dimo
May 18, 2022 at 19:58
Unless you were married to an Australian at the time of your entry, you have probably made a mistake that will cause disqualification. You should have an AS region case number, not OC.
May 16, 2022 at 13:32
Good day Brit
I am currently in a relationship, was planning to get engaged soon. I got elected to start the DV2023 process, but would like to bring my partner with.
As I understand, I can change my form at the KCC to add a ‘spouse’, if it is already a legal marriage. Does that mean that I can get married in the next month and we will have no problem? Do they ask for evidence of a proposal and would it raise flags if we were only engaged for a few days / couple of weeks?
What are the rules in regards to marriage and how can I make sure that she can come with?
Regards
May 18, 2022 at 19:59
Yes you can marry, but yes they will probably ask for evidence that your relationship is real and predated the lottery win.
May 16, 2022 at 13:42
Hi Simon,
First of all thank you for all your help you provide. I have been selected for the DV2023, case 2023EU7xxx. I am about to submit the DS 260 form and I know a print out of the confirmation page needs to be presented at the interview.
My question is, since I don’t have a printer at the moment of submitting, is it possible to receive the confirmation via email which can then be printed later?
Thank you again
May 18, 2022 at 19:59
You can print the screen, save that.
May 16, 2022 at 15:09
Hi Simon,
Thanks a lot for your valuable work. i was lucky to be selected for DV23AS
1. May I ask if I I can unlock the DS-260 anytime before or after clicking sign and submit? (My location of interview is locked even after I haven’t sumbitted)
2. By experience how long does it take for KCC to unlock the DS-260?
3. Hypothetically, at the future stage where I already scheduled an interview with the KCC and corresponding American institute, am I still able to change location to a different country?
4. Would you think this will ppotentially put me back in the queue?
Asking this because I might change my expected interview location from one country to another depending on when I get contacted to schedule as well as the Covid situation
Thanks in advance
MD
May 18, 2022 at 20:02
1. You can ask for unlock, but the embassy choice cannot be changed by the applicant at any time.
2. Depends on how many emails they have in their inbox. THat number is probably growing with all the people that now realized they rushed and made mistakes on their DS260.
3. Depends on several factors.
4. Again, depends on timing.
May 16, 2022 at 16:55
Hi,
2023ASXXXX3000,
1- Can i have my interview in Amman Jordan and my 4 years child which is already included on my entry in Lebanon ? this is because my daughter nationality prohibited her to have access to Jordan .
2- also, what would happen if the interview scheduled in Jordan for both of us and she was unable to make it due to the same reason , are they going to deny both of us ? or they will proceed with my application only ?
Note : i did not fulfill my DS 260 yet
Thanks and best regards
May 18, 2022 at 20:03
1. No you should interview together with your child.
2. Yours only.
May 16, 2022 at 17:05
Good afternoon, sir
What can do for now if my High School certificate carries different year and my Middle name is not spelled out and these two information are different from the ones on my passport?
Is it possible that I be reach out for interview when my case number is in 2023AF34k?
May 18, 2022 at 20:04
1. No problem
2. Wait and see.
May 16, 2022 at 17:06
Hi Simon, 2022 DV winner here. Oceania, case number 24XX for Sydney consulate processing. Confirmed with KCC case number is “current” & ready for interview scheduling.
I have watched your videos & read your most recent blog post and know my chances aren’t looking good. I am working with a legal team who aren’t as up to speed on the situation in Oceania/Sydney/Suva as you are & want to empower them to fight for my case with as much background as possible. Could you confirm:
1. Sydney consulate is definitely still on your shit list?
2. Besides your videos & blogs, any other online resource I can point my lawyers to that confirms Sydney is not taking many/any interviews right now?
3. Was the update about Suva offering Australians a lifeline for Oceania interview processing published anywhere I can show them?
4. In your opinion, given remaining timeline & my case number, best option is to try and switch interview to Suva?
Thank you for your time.
May 18, 2022 at 20:07
1. Yes of course.
2. The CEAC data proves it, but really if your lawyer doesn’t even know that, why are you using them??
3. It was sent by email and is working for many Aussies. Ignore the lawyer, take control of your case and ask Suva to accept it.
4. Yes. Sydney might reopen, but it will come late in the game, so I personally wouldn’t risk waiting for them.
May 16, 2022 at 17:47
Hi Simon
I’m Pakistani but I born in United Arab Emirates.
am I eligible for dv lottery?
May 18, 2022 at 20:17
Yes
May 16, 2022 at 23:37
hi Simon i know you answer this before but i can’t found it i got this reply when i asked about my case :
Your DS-260 has been processed. You should have received, or will soon receive, an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing.
is that mean kcc done with my case and send it the embassy ? what i expect next
May 18, 2022 at 20:22
Now you wait and hope to be scheduled.
May 16, 2022 at 23:43
If putting on DS single and the applicant is divorced does it disqualify? Thanks Brit
May 18, 2022 at 20:23
It can do, yes.
May 17, 2022 at 00:16
Hi Simon,
Thanks so much for being such a legend with all of this!
I do have two silly questions but just want to clear this up. Regarding the police clearance, does this have to be the fingerprint police clearance from your home country or can it just be one where they look up your name?
Second question – does that police clearance need to still be in date when you enter the United States? (Ours are valid for 1 year but mine may be out by a few weeks when I go to enter the US due to getting it last year to collect for the lottery further documents as I had a low case number).
Thank you
May 18, 2022 at 20:24
1. Varies by country – check the instructions.
2. No, they are accepted up to 2 years old, and that is at interview
May 17, 2022 at 02:39
Hi Simon,
I am a DV2022 winner Case Number: 2022OC00002151
OCEANIA region is now reading Current. Can you please elaborate on this? Is my number now current?
Do I need to scheduled the interview? Or do I have to just wait for the KCC to email me?
Thanks Lewis
May 18, 2022 at 20:25
1. Yes you are current.
2. KCC do the scheduling.
May 17, 2022 at 02:55
Hi Simon,
My sister has been selected in current DV 2023 and she just filled out single but she have a baby boy and a husband. How can we further proceed the document. Can you please give an idea how to go forward in this specific case.
May 18, 2022 at 20:26
If she had the husband and child prior to the DV entry then she broke the rules and would be wasting her time and money to proceed.
May 17, 2022 at 04:51
Hi Simon,
Hope you’re doing good.
This regarding submitting DS 260 forms for derivatives.
When submitting the derivatives form ( spouse and kids), it ask about the case number and passport number separately each individual.
1. Here who’s passport number should be entered. The principal applicant or the derivatives ?
2. Is it mandatory to have a sponsor or is it sufficient if we show the bank statement ?
Thank you
Shafreen
May 18, 2022 at 20:27
1. THe derivative
2. That depends on how much money you have in the bank. Think of $10K to $15k per person.
May 17, 2022 at 05:57
Dear Sir,
My case is dv2023 asia case number 23000
I’ve submitted my ds260 last week do you advice me to send the documents now?
Thank you very much.

Hi BritSimon,
I am DV2023 EU20XXX selectee. Currently I live in Poland (WRW US embassy). Seems that considering 2022 WRW embassy is doing lot of interviews but has much more cases to deal with (because of additional 6000 Russians since November compared to in previous years about 400 cases – mainly Polish residents).
I would really appreciate your opinion on two solutions I am thinking of:
1. Before I submit my DS260 I am thinking of moving to another country (e.g. Spain – MDD US embassy) which has not so many cases and in 2022 is dealing now with much higher cases numbers than WRW is. Problems that I see with this now are: I will have to be there as at least temporary resident to be invited to US embassy in Madrid. I work remotely as Java Developer but I think to make it according the law I will need to have my one-person business and taxes payed in Spain, find job for my husband, spend much more money on costs of living and tax advisors, accountants, renting some place for the office to register it in Spain and so on.
2. Another thing I am considering is staying in Warsaw, filling my DS260 where do I live now and observing the situation. If in a year my number will be current and WRW embassy will be dalyed compared to current numbers and other embassies, I will go to the US on non-immigrant visa or something simpler as Poland is in United States Visa Waiver Program (only afraid that I can be turned back on the US airport because of applying through DS260 for an immigrant visa). And there fill I-485 application for status adjustment and have better chances to get green card? Isn’t it something against the rules?
Please give your opinion on those 2 solutions. I really would not like to loose my chance of GC but also I do not want to make a mistake because of not knowing some rules that would ruin any chances I have now.
May 18, 2022 at 21:27
I think it is too early to be making these sorts of plans. The landscape will be different a year from now.
About AOS, there are complexities to that method, but a couple of points.
a) You cannot adjust status from an ESTA. You would need a non immigrant visa, not visa waiver.
b) Submitting a DS260 would make it more difficult to be approved for a non immigrant visa.

Hello mr.Britsimon! the information that you have been giving us are invaluable. Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance! my question is i filled my ds 260 early. case number 2023AF00009xxx since website was busy i was frustrated so i tried to fill the form as fast as possible. staying all nigh long because website was signing me out frequently by itself. after i submitted i realized i didn’t give information of all secondary education history i just added my highest one which is university no degree which im currently learning. i sent request to unlock my form on may 13. but 1) im worried if unlocking process have negative impact on me like delaying! 2) how long does it take. i know you can’t know how long it takes just prediction. Thank you very much.

Hello Brit,
Thank you for your support on this channel. I just want to clarify this doubt with you.
I’m Dv2022 selectee waiting for the interview hopefully in June. We have resided in UAE for couple of years and submitted police certificates from UAE for me and my wife to KCC.
Validity of UAE police report is 3 months.
Our last trip to UAE was in last October and we obtained another police certificate from UAE which will expire just 3 days before our interview date.
My questions are
1). for the interview if we submit that pcc (which expires 3days prior to interview) will it be sufficient (considering the fact that we didn’t travel to UAE after last October)
2). Should we carry new valid police certificates from UAE again.
3).our home country birth/marriage certificates does not carry an expiry date. So can we submit the same original documents of the scanned documents we submitted to KCC.
Thanks for the extended support.
May 18, 2022 at 21:30
1. Yes. Police certs are accepted up to 2 years old.
2. No
3. Yes

Thanks Brit. Really appreciate your support on this.

Good Morning Simon
Case number 2023OC00XXX
Just wondering when the interview is likely to be? (after October 1 2022 of course)
Also, thanks so much for getting info to the selectees. You’re a massive help.
May 18, 2022 at 21:30
In general I cannot predict at the moment, and there is even less chance I’ll predict when you give me no clue of your case number range (the max CN is about 3000, so you are only telling me the first third).

Hello Simon
When someone married in home country does he able to marry in USA or Canada? Or must be get divorce? Do they ask for such a document? Thank you
May 18, 2022 at 21:31
Yes you must divorce first otherwise that would be bigamy.

May 18, 2022 at 21:35

Hello Brit,
Thank you for your support on this channel. I just want to clarify this doubt with you.

Hi,
Thank you & appreciate your work !!
I have another question, I have done Advanced Level Exam in Sri Lanka. From the 3 subjects of the A/Ls I have achieved only 2 passes only for 2 subjects. But after that I have done a Bachelors Degree and now I am a graduate. I don’t any previous employment experience. Can I apply with my degree?
June 9, 2022 at 21:55
Yes. The actual requirement varies by country.
May 17, 2022 at 12:13
Dear Brit,
Firstly, appreciate your work!
My case No. is: 2023EU00015xxx,
Submitted DS-260,
Meet all the DV visa requirements
Q:1 – Do you think its good idea to enter in the US on my existing visit visa and apply # Adjustment of Status # instead of consular processing? I do have solid job opportunity over there.
Please advice.
Thank you
May 18, 2022 at 22:47
First, you can’t adjust status until you are current.
Second you can’t take a USA job opportunity unless your visa status allows that.
May 17, 2022 at 12:43
Hello sir
I received this answer from the kcc: ” Records indicate you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center.”
I am from Algeria, my cn is 17.8k and I submitted my ds on july.
Do you think I will receive the 2nl singe the deadline is close?
Thank you
May 18, 2022 at 22:48
I don’t know
May 17, 2022 at 13:16
Hi Brit.
Panic here.
I have submitted my ds260 last may. In september I got married and I asked KCC to add my husband into the application. Now my CEAC page states me as applicant and my spouse as accompany (spouse).
My interview has been scheduled for next week and I just got an email from my consultate stating that their records show that I have scheduled an appointment for an additional person and they ask me if this person is my spouse and if I have you requested KCC to add my spouse to the case. In such case I my husband has to be added following the correct procedure as they have no records of my spouse being added to my case.
How is this possible?? What was the correct procedure to follow? We have submitted to DS-260 forms and we are on the same CEAC page.
Could you please help me?
May 18, 2022 at 22:49
I don’t know whether you followed the procedure correctly or not – but in any case, work it out with the embassy. Show them your husbands DS260.
May 17, 2022 at 13:59
Hi Brit, thanks for always helping out. please i have a worry. Are we required to pay the IV fee upon submission of the ds 260 form? because i just noticed IV fee next to the applicant information?
May 18, 2022 at 22:50
No.
May 17, 2022 at 14:30
Hi Brit,
I’m currently living in the U.S. under F1 student visa, and heading home for the summer, just learned I won the lottery. Case Number: 2023AS6XXX
I’m wondering:
1) what is the list of lawyers you recommend especially for dealing with adjustment of status
2) does sending in DS260 right now give me any advantage? I’m not sure if I’ll need it and was hoping to talk to a lawyer before making any moves.
3)would filling the DS260 make it difficult for me to get back into the country when I travel back here in a few months.
May 18, 2022 at 22:52
1. For most case I recommend doing the process yourself. https://forums.immigration.com/threads/dv-2023-aos-adjustment-of-status-only.345837/
2. Not for AOS
3. Only if you need to re-apply for a visa.
May 17, 2022 at 14:32

Hi Simon
Can we know the number of people who have their interview in certain empassy?
I mean all dv cases including non-processed cases and cases at NVC
I want to know how much before I transfer my case
May 17, 2022 at 19:53
Hello Simon I have problems with the issuance of the passport of my baby. so I have still not received the passport of the baby, and my interview is scheduled May 23 at 8:00 am, and how to do it knowing that I fulfilled the DS260 baby and confirm with the passport number of the mother and that I I said that I must travel with baby 4 months.
May 18, 2022 at 22:55
You must make your own decisions about that.

Dear BritSimon,
first of all thank you for the help you give to all of us. I’m a DV2023 selectee (EU23XXX) and I have submitted my DS-260 yesterday. I would like to send my documents without being asked, following the advice in your videos and in your related article. Since in the DS-260 I have been asked for details about my parents (birth, residence, if I am alive, etc.) I would like to know if, in addition to my certificates (of birth, for example), I should also send those of my parents.
Thank you in advance,
Giovanni

Hi Brit hope you’re good.
I’m currently in the university(undergraduate) yet to graduate in 2024.
I want to ask what should I enter as the degree/certificate/diploma received gap.
And also the ‘attend to’ gap since I can’t enter 2024 (the year I’m gonna graduate)
Thank you.
May 18, 2022 at 22:57
That should be under current occupation, not education history.
May 17, 2022 at 23:19
What regions do you think are likely to retrogress? Will they retrogress if the “issued” and “ready” combined get close to 55,000? Why would they bother because if they reach the quota wouldn’t they just stop issuing green cards. I’m confused about the actual reason for retrogression.
May 18, 2022 at 22:58
I’m not going to try and predict that!
May 17, 2022 at 23:33
Hi Simon, I have case number 2023OC21XX. I understand this is quite high for Oceania. My consulate is Auckland NZ. I see based on previous years on the visa bulletins the Oceania case numbers never get that high but reach “Current” status around May. Once the bulletin goes to Current, will I get an interview date soon after or could I still be waiting in line for a long time? Thoughts on my chances of getting the visa? Also, I have already submitted my DS-260. IT just occurred to me that if I travel overseas between now and my interview (should I get one) then my recent travel listed in the DS-260 would no longer be current. Could that be an issue? OR should I just say at the interview it was current at the time of submission and I have since travelled to wherever I have travelled since that time?
May 19, 2022 at 04:31
Don’t worry about keeping the DS260 updated.
Regarding your chances, we don’t know the data points that allow us to make educated guesses. So – for now just be patient.
May 18, 2022 at 04:08
Hi Simon, I have a question about the immigration packet please. These were handed over to immigration and from what I understand has all medical records etc in it. I’m in the process of trying to enroll children in school and they are looking for recent (less than one year) medical exam. Is this something that can be shared with us or is there somewhere we can access it as all we were given copies of was the immunization record, not the entire exam. Thank so much.
May 19, 2022 at 04:38
Ask the physician if they will provide a copy. Or just see a physician here.
