It’s too early to say. This week was good, but we have two more weeks to go.
March 15, 2024 at 18:51
Hi Mr Brit
How to prepare for an dv interview as a derivative?
March 15, 2024 at 20:12
Read the instructions and gather all the documents. Nothing to worry about.
March 15, 2024 at 23:31

March 16, 2024 at 13:57
i checked the link its not in that list. can you just copy paste the answer please
March 16, 2024 at 20:37
There isnβt a set list of documents, everyone has a different situation. Just use your own judgement.
March 16, 2024 at 13:13
Hello Britsimon, I’m a 2021 DV lottery winner, case EU2021000296XX. I didn’t join any lawsuit and gave up hope pretty soon but was wondering if there could still be a chance considering the lawsuits still going? Thanks!
March 16, 2024 at 20:38
What embassy are you?
March 16, 2024 at 15:33
ββAsked KCC to unlock my DS260 to correct an error on a move-out date on one of my previous addresses. While doing that, I also corrected the word “conscription” to “mandatory military service” Is that ok or should I let them know or something?
Iran Asia19k
Thanks as usual Simon
March 16, 2024 at 20:40
That is ok. However, as your case number is high and you did military service you have a very low chance of approval.
March 16, 2024 at 16:05
ββHi Brits, I emailed KCC when I noticed my case number (2024AF12***) was jumped. I got the response my case is current for interview processing, does this email mean my case is already processed?
March 16, 2024 at 20:40
Ds260 is processed, yes.
March 16, 2024 at 16:24
ββIf I am in AV queue (2024AF12***) what is the maximum higher case number that could be scheduled before me? Is it 22 hundred, since I am current in the batch below this number?
I have watched your live YouTube video today and I heard you saying a 100 2nls are assigned to Adiss from those extracts categorized as “None’. Will there be more 2nls in the coming weeks? We are hearing 2nls up to 12000 case numbers have already been sent to selectees. By the AV queue logic and if these sent 2nls are true, we should expect more 2nls, is that not?
March 16, 2024 at 20:42
Since you don’t know when your ds260 was processed, you cannot be sure when your case was added to the AV queue. All you can do is wait and see.
March 16, 2024 at 18:22
Hello Simon,
Watched your live today and listened to your analysis carefully. Iam case no 2024AF4098* in nairobi ds 260 is processed. I heard you talk about in transit cases for Nairobi does that mean there is a possibility for them to send unsent 2nls? Or that is a ceac status change but all the 2nls have been sent for May? Kindly help me decord that bit. Many thanks.
March 16, 2024 at 20:44
Without knowing how many 2nls they already sent, I can’t predict whether they will send more this month. So, wait and see.
March 16, 2024 at 20:01
Sir,
Am dv winner and recently arrived in US. I had already informed the KCC.
Can you please tel me what are the steps to follow to adjust my status?
March 16, 2024 at 20:44
Case number?????
March 16, 2024 at 23:06
Hi Brit
Hope you are well, what’s the youtube page or website for dv adjustment of status. Thanks
March 17, 2024 at 08:55

The first post in that thread has a couple of links to spreadsheets will everything you need to know about DV related AOS.
March 17, 2024 at 04:44
Hi Simon , I am 2024 AF 43**** NRB I have a few concerns with my case and I was hoping you could offer some advise honestly I can use some advice.
1. I have a son who was born after the entry process, the mother and I are not married and decided not to get married atm I did list my son in my ds260 as I did not want to fail listing him in my ds260 but did not have a ds260 for him as he is too young and needs his mother as is the law in Kenya that allows a child to be under the care of the mother until they are 18. I chose to list him because I figured should the heavens favor me Id love to have him visit me and even have a chance of joining me in the future. Will this affect my case?
2. On the dv entry I stated I have a degree because I was close to graduating and was on the graduation tentative list already. I actually did graduate by the time I was submitting my ds260 will this be a problem?
3 I did not list all my social media accounts as I did list my X/ twitter account which am most active on as the rest are dormant accounts. Will this be a problem and if so I haven’t yet received my 2NL can I ask KCC to unlock my ds260 and allow me to add this information.
4. Kindly lemme know what are my chances with this circumstances as my case number (NRB embassy)is almost receiving a 2NL
March 17, 2024 at 08:58
1. You did exactly the correct thing. No problem.
2. No problem.
3. I would not unlock for that at this moment (and you probably could not unlock anyway)
4. You’ll probably get your 2NL next month. Relax.
March 17, 2024 at 05:31
When you Say βmaybeβ for EU30500 does it mean 50/50 Chance, pretty good chance or unlikely to happen?
March 17, 2024 at 08:59
It means something between 0% and 100%. That’s all I can say.

Hello sir.
I have a friend who won dv2024 his concerns are:
He is married to his wife since and when entering the dv he listed his wife and two 2 children, but currently he is not in good terms with his wife and in our country marriage certificate is given to the woman not the man, his questions are;
1. Even though he is not planning to move with his wife but they are not legally separated yet, does he has to provide the marriage certificate even though he asked the wife but she is refusing to provide it to him. Noting he has prove to show like their wedding pictures, videos and all…..
2. If he couldn’t get the certificate to provide to the embassy is that the end of his chance? Noting he is expecting 2nl next month.
3. Any advice for him sir?
March 17, 2024 at 18:20
He would be disqualified if he cannot produce that fundamental document.
March 17, 2024 at 17:48
Hi Brit.
I’m from Russia, waiting for 2 NL (hope to get it 2024EU32***, but understand it’s risky). One of the required document is a military book. I didn’t serve in army because of education, but I had a conflict with the military Kommissar so I don’t have any official document. As I don’t live in Russia and don’t have any plans to return there because of war, I won’t be able to obtain it. I have some supplementary documents that can confirm that I didn’t serve in army (PhD diploma, letters from the military office etc). Is this ok, or it may lead to 221g or refuse?
March 17, 2024 at 18:14
Honestly, I don’t know what the outcome would be – its an unusual situation.
March 18, 2024 at 02:23
Hi Brit,
Do you think now having 4 months leg that Egypt 50K won’t become current? I moved embassies, but nothing else to to do I think but wait.
March 18, 2024 at 09:37
“nothing else to to do I think but wait”
Yep.
March 18, 2024 at 02:32
Hi Brit the 2nl came March 11 2024AF9XXX Addis, will the embassy communicate or shall I proceed with my medical and others and show up on the interview date?
March 18, 2024 at 09:38
They will not communicate. You schedule your medical, gather papers and so on.
March 19, 2024 at 03:51
Thank you

Hi brit .
I have changed my embassy from nairobi to kuala lampur .and i have been scheduled at that embassy but i am having problem with geting a visa longer then a month . March 18, 2024 at 09:39
You can try to change.

March 18, 2024 at 03:50
Hello brit. Do you think it’s adisable to “move” on paper to an embassy in a different region then later back? I’m AF and would like to move to EU.
March 18, 2024 at 09:39
That has worked for some.
March 18, 2024 at 22:37
Appreciate thatβ¨οΈ
March 18, 2024 at 04:12
Hello mr.simon thanks for helping us, i have a question about the host and the sponsor, could you please tell me what is the best for me cuz my friend in usa told me that i will sponsor you and another friends said no need make host better than sponsor, could you please tell me the best choice, and if sponsor which forms i must provide about my sponsor in the interview ?
March 18, 2024 at 09:41
A legitimate sponsor with enough income is the best option.

March 18, 2024 at 04:28
Hi Brit,
I unlocked my DV-260 a month ago to fix my name like passport.
Should I email KCC to ask if my application has been processed? Or that information is useless?
Thanks
March 18, 2024 at 09:42
It is up to you.
March 18, 2024 at 09:45
Hi Britsimon, We entered the lottery as a family of 7, my wife myself and our five children After results we actually created DS-260s for all the derivatives but have decided that since our two first kids are writing finals exams next year, they will stay back. So we have indicated that they will not travel with us.
They are well in our initial entry and in our DS-260s
1)Will this cause us our visa?
2) will KCC now consider that we are 5 or 7.
3) How many of us should attend the interview?
CN55***, Yaounde.
March 18, 2024 at 09:51
This sounds like a bad decision. Do you understand it will take YEARS to get them to the USA if you don’t process them through DV?? They could get the visa, enter the USA and then go back to finish education. Please be sure you are making a sensible decision.
1. No problem.
2. Doesn’t matter what KCC consider.
3. If you are sure not to get the visa for 2 of them, then they don’t attend.
March 18, 2024 at 10:02
Thanks very much Britsimon.
I feel it’s good especially that while the boy one has been persistently showing motivation about his promised Chinese sponsored scholarships, the sister is showing great signs of entrepreneurship and we can hugely grow her business and entrepreneurship skills from the US. But if things turn out worst we don’t mind filing for them even if it takes longer
March 18, 2024 at 11:44
Hi Simon, quick clarification. I just went through the csv on xarthisius’ site. In Asia, there are numbers in transit as high as 7971 even though the cutoff is ~7000. Is there a possibility of an interview being scheduled even if your number is not yet current?
March 18, 2024 at 14:31
The cutoff is 8000.
March 19, 2024 at 05:31
my apologies. I just realized
March 18, 2024 at 16:04
Hi Brit,
Case AF58k
We decided to move our case to Johannesburg from Nrb to get interviewed by June. I unlocked my DS260 and updated my current address. .
Question,
1. do you know if we are required to authenticate our documents Marriage certs, academics, etc., in order for them to be accepted at the US embassy in Jorbug? – I haven’t come across any DV interview experience for Kenyans interviewing in South Africa.
2. I heard you mention the additional background check, is this done only to foreigners?
Thank you for the assistance.
March 19, 2024 at 09:43
1. You must read the embassy specific instructions and reciprocity pages to see what is expected.
2. No, it may be used in any case, and it is more frequently used in Joburg.
March 18, 2024 at 17:33
Hey Mr brit
A Q plz
Iβm waiting for DV interview and applying for b1/b2 , there is a Q like below:
Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?
Shall I select yeah or no ? as I have DS-260 filed.
Thanks for your input.
March 19, 2024 at 09:44
Then the answer is “Yes”. That is what a DS260 is – an immigrant petition.
March 19, 2024 at 11:03
If I accept a residency program on J1 that starts July 2024, then can I have the DV visa incase got it after J1 issuance? Or the J1 prevents me from it?
March 19, 2024 at 16:45
And I have filed Ds-260 , then does that make issue for the J1?
March 19, 2024 at 17:58
It can make the J1 process harder, yes.
March 19, 2024 at 17:58
Some J1 visas have a two year home residency requirement, and that can be a problem for the DV case. So be careful.
March 18, 2024 at 17:54
Hi Brit,
I realized there might be some little texture in the background of the picture I originally entered in the dv entry, but I was selected.
Will I be disqualified by the consul for this reason?
Thanks
March 19, 2024 at 09:44
Probably not.
March 18, 2024 at 18:09
Hi
I am a dv 2024 winner with case umber 49k and I am in Cairo- Egypt, my case is current but the embassy sent 2NL to point 26K , I would like to know based on their performances what are my chances ?
thanks
best regards
March 19, 2024 at 09:46
Well you already know their performance – they are backlogged and have not yet scheduled enough cases.
As for your chances – that would require me to know how much capacity they allocate to DV cases in the future – and I can’t do that.
March 19, 2024 at 00:39
Hello Mr Brit my case number is 2024AF 78k is it advisable for me to transfer my case from Nairobi to Abudhabi embassy since am working in Dubai?
March 19, 2024 at 10:02
That is your decision – I would not advise you on such a critical choice because it might be the wrong choice.
March 19, 2024 at 13:04
Hi what is the likelihood my case number of 33000 from syria using Amman embassy get an interview this year?
March 19, 2024 at 17:59
If you mean 2024AS33000, that is very unlikely to become current.
March 19, 2024 at 18:26
is there a diversity visa limit for south America? if yes, how many?
March 19, 2024 at 20:14
The quota is about 1500. It’s not a hard limit, it can be exceeded slightly.
March 20, 2024 at 02:25
Hi Brit
here are the Q
1. Is AV queue is ordered monthly for each embassy?
2. Can a newly completed ds-260 of the lower case number take its numerical position in the already ordered queue?
3. When will be the latest possible month of KCC to complete the process of all submitted ds-260 and make them at status of RFS?
March 20, 2024 at 12:00
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8D5QzxAiXBI
July is the last time cases are scheduled.
March 20, 2024 at 05:00
Do I have to upload my document when filling the ds260 as it’s said submit supporting documents.
March 20, 2024 at 11:57
No – they do not need any documents uploaded.
March 20, 2024 at 07:20
Hello Britsimon, Iβm a 2021 DV lottery winner, case AF2021000202XX. I didnβt join any lawsuit and gave up hope pretty soon but was wondering if there could still be a chance considering the lawsuits still going? My embassy is Kenya. Thanks!
March 20, 2024 at 11:56
There is no more chance for you since you did not join any lawsuit.
March 20, 2024 at 08:20
Hi Simon, in the region of sa more precise at the embassy of buenos aires Argentina, only 20 dv visas were issued. We are 127 with derivatives and in my WhatsApp group all from case 3800, is it possible that they call us all? Why so few and so far apart? Do you have any kind of chance? Thank you.
March 20, 2024 at 11:56
It is possible that some cases will not become current, so those cases won’t be called. Then for the other cases, not all will have completed the DS260. So you should not expect that all 127 will get visas.
March 20, 2024 at 12:08
Hi Simon,
I waiting my number to be current but I want to ask about the passport.
I have to renew my passport when I called for interview and I read before a while it’s not a big deal and you can change it at the embassy in interview day.
my question is how it will be changed there and is it gonna take a time or they will put me in AP or 221g for changing some information.
in this time some things has changed since i fill ds260 like my work, new passport and my home address, how it will be the process in interview to change those information and if they gonna take time so they will not give me congrats in that day because of that.
i sorry for being paranoid and overthinking xD, but i really want to know about the process in the interview day and thanks in advance <3
March 20, 2024 at 17:27
It’s not a big problem. Just take the old and new passports to the interview if possible.
March 20, 2024 at 14:09
Hello Simon, I hope you are well. I have obtained my German visa and will be traveling there very soon. As I will be transferring my embassy to Frankfurt, I just wanted to ask the format and content of the email I will be sending KCC for my embassy change. Should I simply just request to unlock my DS-260 or shall I add the reason for it as well? Please guide me for this as I do not want to make any errors in my case. Thank you loads!
March 20, 2024 at 17:28
Just ask to unlock. No need to give them more information than they ask for…
March 21, 2024 at 02:24
Hi Brit. We relate to the Jerusalem embassy. If you have any information about how this embassy works (especially in this hard time)? I see they send about 2-3 2nl in the month. My first concern is if my CN will come current, and my second is about the embassy working. Thank you a lot.
March 21, 2024 at 06:48
You know the same information I know. They only schedule a few cases although of course only a few cases need to be scheduled there, so that might be OK. The bigger question is whether you will get current or not, but you didn’t mention your case number range.
March 21, 2024 at 16:29
Hi Irina
The performance of US embassy is very Satisfactory.
Our problem with the US embassy in jerusalem is how to acces to jerusalem if the applicant have the palestinain ID like me , are you?
if you are interested we have a whatsup group for some palestinian dv winner 2024 , so you are invited to join and this is my mobile number you can contact me so i can add you to it
All the best

Hi Brit
There was a name misspelled .My wifeβs name in the Marriage certificate and we corrected it through court order. Now the correct name is mentioned in the marriage certificate. Do we have to take a copy of the court order to the interview?
Thank you π
March 22, 2024 at 16:17
You should do, yes.
March 21, 2024 at 10:52
hi Brit what can i do if i can not obtain police certificates for my husband who lived illegally in turkey ? i am the principal applicant we live in Algeria now and he is Iraqi i am Algerian
March 22, 2024 at 16:17
I don’t know what you can do in that exact circumstance.
March 21, 2024 at 10:59
Hello Simon,
I and my family were in other country with residence visa.
May I ask you about changing interview location from my original country.
Just only sending email to KCC for updating current address on DS260 after unlocking would be enough for changing interview location.
My Case Number was 2024AS17000 over.
Should I inform/request KCC to change my interview location with another email?
Can we know where my interview location will take place after getting 2NL?
Looking forward hearing from you.
Thanks.
March 22, 2024 at 16:24
Just focus on changing the address. You can email KCC later to confirm they will use the new embassy.
March 22, 2024 at 03:58
Hello Brit. Do you advice one to “move” on paper after DS260 has been processed or even before being processed?
March 22, 2024 at 16:30
If people are in countries where the embassy won’t get to their number, I recommend moving – and it is important to do that before being AV status (which is current + Processed).
March 22, 2024 at 16:25
Hello Simon
Iam case number 2024AF409** from Nairobi. I submitted my ds260 on the dv release date in may 2023. I emailed kcc last month and they gave me the below response
Thank you for your inquiry.
Records indicate you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member to the Kentucky Consular Center.
I emailed them today about the same and they gave me a different response.
Your forms have been received and are currently processing. Allow several weeks for processing. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.
Due to the conflicting messages does this mean processed?
March 23, 2024 at 12:45
One of the two replies was obviously incorrect – I can’t tell you which one.
March 22, 2024 at 16:28
Hi Simon,
I have a question regarding DS 5535, the CO put my NIV back in 2022 on 221g until i filled DS5535, then i got my NIV approved (3rd time getting the NIV).
Now im a DV selectee, would that affect my chances during the interview?
Is there a narrative regarding filling the 5535 and bring refused the green card visa?
Note: AS13949, ABD embassy
Thx
Ash
March 23, 2024 at 12:46
That old case won’t affect the DV case, UNLESS you have differences in what you said last time versus this time.
March 22, 2024 at 18:38
Hi Simon,
today after number updated on Xarthisius website, until now Asia region arrange 400 cases to interview in this month and we still have another week, does this consider good? or at least better than previous months?
March 23, 2024 at 21:52
Yes it was better than last month, but I would prefer to see 500/600
March 23, 2024 at 05:42
Good day my friend
I just wanted to know what is your opinion for this week 2NLs.
I compared the total numbers with the last yearβs numbers at this time and I thought this might be good? Am I thinking right or I am misunderstanding the process
Thank you and have a great weekend ππΌ
March 23, 2024 at 21:53
Not good enough. 2500 for May so far – we need a good week next week.
March 24, 2024 at 06:58
Hopefully ππΌππΌ
Oh my god It is so stressful and heartbreaking program π
Thank you my friend
March 23, 2024 at 16:35
Mr Simon can someone unlock ds260 and notify KCC about interview locations change? Should I have to move to new locations immediately or I stay in my country till my interview be scheduled?
March 23, 2024 at 21:53
You need to have a strong connection to that country – moving there is the best way.
March 23, 2024 at 17:06
Hi Simon,
My Case number is 2024AF54k, I live in Luanda Angola, I check my status check in the same site I checked for my dv selectee, nothing is changed in terms of if my DS260 is processed or not. my question is
1. Is that the right site where I check status of my DV application?
2. how is the embassy in Luanda Angola performing and what are my chances of getting interviewed?
3. shouldn’t my DS260 be processed by now according to my case number?
4. Is there anything I need to do to fasten my process?
Thank you!
March 23, 2024 at 21:55
1. That site will not tell you if your DS260 is processed. You have to email KCC if you need to know that.
2. You have a chance.
3. It isn’t by case number.
4. No – just patience.
March 24, 2024 at 14:31
Hi Brit,
Is Pinterest a social media site worth listing? do I have to unlock to enter my account?
Thanks
March 24, 2024 at 16:13
Plus snapchat as well pzl?
March 24, 2024 at 18:38
Yes for snapchat.
March 24, 2024 at 21:29
Do I need to unlock or I can mention it at interview plz? i already unlocked it last November but forgot to add it.
I have added (FB, instagram,twitter, linkedin,youtube,reddit)
But Snapchat was not listed in the drop down list in the form.
If I unlock it then does it delay an already processed case of AS169**
March 24, 2024 at 23:17
You can unlock if you want. It won’t cause delay, but it is your choice.
March 24, 2024 at 18:38
No.
March 24, 2024 at 19:41
Hello Brit,
My question is about the 330$ paid at the US embassies right before the interviews. Can I go ahead and carry the equivalent of the 330$ in the local currency of the country that i’ll be interviewing in?
Thank you for responding.
March 24, 2024 at 23:19
That is normally accepted, but make sure you take enough allowing for currency fluctuations.
March 24, 2024 at 20:49
Hi Simon!
In your years of experience, is there anything an Iranian male could do before/during an interview to have the highest chance of success?
