Do you think as there are more holes this year that is why they are asking to submit docs for everyone, even to those who did not submit ds-260?
October 21, 2019 at 00:24
I don’t think it is to do with that. Just trying to avoid the mess of last year.
October 20, 2019 at 16:23
Thank you for your great effort

October 20, 2019 at 16:26
Again, thank you Brit. I wanted to ask a question. When do you think we will learn more about the health care proclamation?
October 21, 2019 at 00:25
Over the next few weeks.
October 20, 2019 at 17:37
Hello Simon,
I hope you can advise me on something.
I am the DV2019 winner and moving to US in exactly 4 weeks from now.
The GBP/ USD exchange rate is currently hishest from months so I wanted to transfer some of my funds already to US.
But I do not have a US bank account there yet so I did wanted to transfer it to my friends account for now.
He is concerned about it as he do not know if he will not have to pay income tax above it as he said over the phone.
I am trying to find out online if this is true but on some places they say it is true on others that it is possible to pay tax above it but not necessary.
Obviously I would give him money back if there will be any tax above it, but it would mean loss of money for me.
So the question is should I wait until I will be already in US and risk the exchange to fall down or do the transfer now as there should be no tax above it (that is what I think)
Many Thanks
Lukasz

You can decide for yourself. There is a FAQ entry about moving money here.
November 5, 2019 at 20:39
Hi Simon Greetings, my husband won at SA36XX, do you think we have the opportunity to get an interview? We have not sent the ds260 for fear that this will affect our American visas if we want to go later and do not have the opportunity to interview.
November 6, 2019 at 03:59
You should get a chance – but if you want, wait a few more months to see the VB increase speed.
October 20, 2019 at 18:20
Hey Simon,
Thanks for this quick video update! Your last remark on the anticipated increase in the response rate got me a little worried.
We’re a high case number (53k) in Russia, where there are 5118 selectees. A 75% response rate would deplete the 7% limit (3825).
In DV2017 Russia had a response rate as high as 79%, but that’s the only case I know in the last 9 years or so when it went above 75%. But considering your prediction on the response rate increase…
What do you think of the probability of this, i.e., how likely do you think the response rate is to hit the 75% threshold?
Thank you.
October 21, 2019 at 02:45
It is impossible to be as precise as you are expecting. Wait and see what happens.
October 20, 2019 at 18:56
Hey folks, it looks like 2nd draw for dv-2020 took place recently. Some guys from Russian forum got the following message on their email:
Date: 10/9/2019
Case Number: 2020EU00047……..
Dear SIARHEI ัะฐะผะธะปะธั:
Congratulations on your selection for the 2020 Diversity Visa program!
Please read this email and carefully follow the instructions listed in order to have your application processed as quickly as possible.
You should review the list of required documents for processing below and send those to KCC to review as part of your application package, along with completing your DS-260. You will only be scheduled for interview at an overseas consular post after you have completed your DS-260 and submitted all documents required for your case and your visa rank number has become current.
All documents should be submitted as attachments to your email to ensure they are properly received. We ask that you use the following method to name and attach your files:
– Your DV case number;
– The full name of the applicant whose document you scanned; and
– The document name or form number.
For example:
2020AF00938653_John_Doe_Passport.pdf
2020AF00938653_Jane_Doe_Birth_Certificate.pdf
Use your case number as the subject of the email. The maximum email size is 30MB. If the total size of your attachments is larger than 30MB, send multiple emails using your case number as the subject of each email. Please send your documents for KCC review only after you have collected all of the required documents for yourself and all accompanying family members. Send documents only to the [email protected] email address.
Documents photographed or scanned with a mobile phone are acceptable, but every document must be fully legible. Illegible or incomplete documents must be re-submitted and will delay processing of your case.
All documents not in English, or in the official language of the country in which the application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that states that the translation is accurate and the translator is competent to translate.
* IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not mail any documents to KCC. Any documents sent to KCC will not be processed and will be destroyed.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
You and each family member immigrating with you to the United States should collect the civil documents that are required to support your visa application.

The city and/or country where you were arrested.
Court Record: If you have been convicted of a crime, provide a certified copy of each court record and any prison record.
Collect and submit your documents promptly. Your case will not be scheduled for a visa interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate until KCC has received and processed all required documents and the DS-260. Missing or illegible documents will delay processing of your case. If you cannot obtain a particular document, send an explanation of why you cannot obtain the document, as an attachment in .jpeg or .pdf format, to [email protected], with your case number in the subject line. Only a consular officer can determine, at the time of the visa interview, if you are qualified to receive a Diversity Visa.

That is NOT a second draw. That is a document email – that’s all.
October 21, 2019 at 04:54
Brit
CN is EU 29XXX. Will do AOS. I received this email as well. But waiting 90 days until December submit DS 260 as I just returned back from abroad in September.
Q1. Kind of a dumb question, within DS 260 is there a place to mention that I want to do AOS? I was going though the DS 260 guide and didnt see anything about people who want to do AOS. Maybe I missed something.
Q2. As I am not doing CP hence some of the things on this email does not apply to me right? Because I can’t email documents for AOS, have to send everything to lockbox, right?
October 22, 2019 at 02:58
1. DS260 isn’t actually “required” for AOS cases, although you can file it (and I recommend you do).
2. Right.
October 23, 2019 at 02:26
Brit,
Q1: As you and forum suggested that to file DS 260 then my question is exactly how do I let KCC know that I want to do AOS? Is there a section on DS 260 about AOS? On spreadsheet it says “while waiting for a second notification letter (email) from KCC confirming your intention to process AOS…”
Thanks
October 23, 2019 at 15:49
There is a section on the DS260 yes – you’ll see it when you go through the form.
October 20, 2019 at 19:42
Hi britsimon i have one important question for you
Us you now this year applicant must have passport but the the information i got from my country people’s filling the forms with wrong passport numbers so can this effect chance of the other who have true passport ?
October 21, 2019 at 03:51
It won’t affect their chances.
October 21, 2019 at 21:55
Out of curiosity – what country do you live in? Why do they fill their applications with wrong numbers?
They will not be able to proceed with their visa applications without valid passports with those numbers…
October 20, 2019 at 21:24
I like so much your video and your predictions. Thank you for your time
October 21, 2019 at 00:57
Hello Brit,
If my passport expired when the processing time , what will I do?

Hi Brit!
Me and my husband (both) have been selected for the dv 2020! My case number is EU46XXX and my husbandโs case number is EU14XXX. In May we have send DS-260 (both) and now we have receveid the e-mails from kcc for the documents to be send (both!). What we are supposed to do? To continue both processes till the appointment at the consulate? (We think that will be my husband appointment first due the case number EU14XXX!)
Or we are supposed to stop the processes for the case number EU46XXX? We will eventually disqualified if we continue with both processes till the first two green card will be issued? Thanks for the info!
October 22, 2019 at 04:29
Just process his case. Fall back to your case if he does not meet requirements.
October 22, 2019 at 07:28
Hi Brit, considering your new projection, when do you think I will have the interview (2020EU29XXX)? You help us to realize our dream, thanks for your advices Brit!
October 22, 2019 at 23:05
Take a look at the previous predictions.
October 23, 2019 at 16:53
April/may 2020? thank Brit
October 22, 2019 at 08:08
Hello Sir.Firstly thank you for answers.Iโm from Albania and today I was taking a look to my ds260 form.Is it possible that Iโve unlocked it??As i saw some questions that havenโt been there when I filled the form on May 24.Iโm very worried right now.Thank you in advance!
October 22, 2019 at 23:08
If the beginning of the form still says complete – then it is locked.
October 26, 2019 at 10:46
When I log into my ds260 it says Completed for me and my husbund too.
October 22, 2019 at 11:28
Hello Brit my case number is AF21xxx. I have received email from KCC to submit documents which I have already sent.An Auto reply came stating that they have received my email and is currently processing my documents that KCC will contact me within 3 to 6 weeks and if I don’t hear from them I should contact them to confirm all of my documents have been received and am ready to be scheduled of an interview.
My question is does it mean by December or January I will be scheduled for interview? My country of residence is middle east .
Thanks
October 22, 2019 at 23:20
You can only be scheduled once your case number is current – so receiving the documents mail does not mean you are able to be interviewed any faster than your case number allows.
October 22, 2019 at 21:55
Hi Brit , I definitely appreciate your efforts .
ย Actually I have a guess about DV entry system issues , I think that’s hidden tool for picking “by HSD ” or something like that .specially with new procedures ( passport no.) therefore many people He could not register yet, even after many times of trying. So , do you think my prediction should be in consideration accordingly or it’s completely wrong !
Note that the USCIS does not report any problems with the website recently.
October 23, 2019 at 00:20
If the issues were more common – I would say “possibly”. But given the limited numbers, I doubt it – but we will probably never know for certain.
October 23, 2019 at 05:42
I am case number AF55000. Any probability when my interview should be?

October 29, 2019 at 15:47
You can’t add someone you “plan” to marry. You can get married and add her – and you should do that soon. If you hurry up you have time.
October 23, 2019 at 22:00
Hello Brit, I hope to you are doing very well.

hello
how you can be sure big numbers will go trough?
on one forum a girl wioth EU11k called to KCC they told her number will be scheduled for an interviw january or february….
if January there is a chance that will be a big step with number but if it will be for Febrruary then January visa bulletin will be so small again //////…. an then no chances for EU36K (I am) to get visa
is this right?
If visa bulletin for February will include EU11k..so no chance for nig numbers??
your prediction for EU30-35K was for april ..and now not even possible to get at all…..
October 26, 2019 at 02:36
I suggest you just think about something else for a few months. It’s not even November and you are already freaking out.
October 27, 2019 at 10:20
of course I am
I dont like the visa bulletin how it goes… theyre playing with us…giving big high . numbers then sent requests of the docs for EVERY winner….so now the ones who forgot even will know they win so my chances go down to get a visa……
and the visa bulletin is SO slow regarding how high number these year… 57k EUROPE
so WHY VISA BULLETIN 3 MONTH ONLY 8600??????????????
it had to be . at leasr 12k….
October 26, 2019 at 09:50
Hi Brit,
I have been selected in the DV Lottery 2020 and finished DS-60 and just sent my documents by email.
Can I still apply for the DV Lottery 2021?
October 26, 2019 at 18:40
Yes
October 26, 2019 at 17:12
Does anybody from EU region got 2NL for December interview?
Thank Sir (Brit) for the opportunity.
October 26, 2019 at 21:32
Yes
October 28, 2019 at 14:53
Hi,
If all the CN become current, is it still important the numbers for the interview or will it be random or other factors may affect the process at that time?
Thank you ๐
October 28, 2019 at 22:00
The number doesn’t matter at that point.
November 1, 2019 at 10:37
Hi, Brit
this sounded very interesting and I just want to ask a little bit more about. I’m sorry if you already asked this type of question, but I didn’t find some info… so when numbers get current, what’s the criteria? Is it the volume of interviews they have at certain embassies? Madrid will be my place for an interview, so I was just wondering what’s the strategy to follow if the “current” scenario happens.
Hope you had a great Halloween ?, and thanks for all your time ๐
November 2, 2019 at 15:30
I don’t understand what you mean by what strategy to follow,. You don’t need a strategy – you just wait.
October 28, 2019 at 22:42

November 12, 2019 at 17:02
Dear Brit Simon,
Q1 – After Visa Approved and by the time enter USA (at POE), the person can CHANGE the US ADDRESS to receive the GC & SSN. Does the person need to stay at that same address during that time? or the person can live somewhere else?
Eg. Assume the person have used a friends address to receive GC & SSN. But its not possible to stay with them at their home. So the person will live in a separate address.
Q2 – If someone fails to enter USA before the visa expiry date due to a valid reason, what is the possibility of extending the visa validity period or does the person loose the chance forever? If the person loose the chance forever, does he have an opportunity for a consideration, if the person discuss with the embassy in advance?
Thank You.
November 13, 2019 at 04:24
1. Last chance to change the delivery address of the GC is upon the first entry at the POE. You can live anywhere – but inform USCIS using the online form.
2. No – after the expiry date, it’s over. No extension.

Hi Brit
I am one of DV 2020 winners and trying to fill up the DS 260 form. Hence, whether is any form besides the DS 260 that I can include my children and family members so that it can easiy to file in for them while in the U.S. ?
Since I can’t. add them. on the DS 260. because I didn’t play with them due to above age.
I want to file in for them as I migrate in. the U.S..
My question is what could be. your candid advised on this issue?
Thanks,
Joe

Complete the DS260 ACCURATELY.
If the form asks for children – list them.
If the form asks for children under 21, don’t.
See how that works?

If you have children under 21 and you did NOT include them on your entry, you will be disqualified.
