Yes
May 16, 2024 at 03:28
Hi! My husband has been selected for DV 2025. I have a concern: in my passport, my previous workplace is listed. However, I have since resigned from that position and am currently running a business in Sri Lanka, where I serve as a director. Will this discrepancy pose a problem during the interview? Should I change my occupation in the passport to ‘none’?
May 16, 2024 at 10:05
This isn’t a problem.
May 15, 2024 at 10:26
Hello sir, first of all I want to thank you for your great job. I’am French and I won the dv25 with a case number EU30xxx. I already filled in dv 260. Do you think I have a chance to be interviewed in Paris?
Many thanks for your help.
May 15, 2024 at 11:11
At this time we have a good idea of the case numbers, but we have no idea of how many selectees we have. It is not defined by the case numbers. So, until July/August we won’t be able to say whether your number is risky or not.

Thank you for your quick reply. Appreciate it. Have a nice day.

Hi Simon,
Thank you for your helpful information. I am a DV2025 winner from Asia, Iran with the case number of 10xxx. Currently, I live in Montreal, Canada as a student. How can I know which counselor office in Canada is better for my case to choose (I have 9 different options in Canada)? I finished filling in the form but did not submit yet.
May 10, 2024 at 05:56
Only Montreal processes DV in Canada.

May 7, 2024 at 18:07
Hi Simon, i am Sister Lily from Ghana.
I got married few months after submitting the entry for dv 2025, after winning I added my husband but I noticed they require proof of marriage (in other words Marriage Certificate) but our marriage was “Customary Marriage” (Islamic Marriage) and there is no document of that sort here.
I therefore would love to know how to go by it when feeling ds-260 without been denied Visa.
Secondly, My husband has his passport already, but I applied for mine couple of months ago but yet to receive it, as it is difficult to get an express passport here in Ghana. How can I fill the ds-260 without the passport in hand as the passport field is kinda required please!? Help me out Sir.
May 7, 2024 at 18:12
Firstly, you need to perform a legal marriage ceremony. That is available in Ghana as I understand it.
Once that is done you can complete the DS260 as a couple.
You can use “another national ID” in place of the passport in the DS260, but would need the passport for the interview.
Always quote the case number (with year and region) when asking questions.

May 7, 2024 at 09:57
Hi, I was among the random selectee from The Gambia in Africa with a case number of 7xxx. I want to know how soon should I start the DS 260 process?
Again, when I was applying for the DV lottery, my status was single but I got married in January after the application. Can I change my status during the Visa application and is there any risk attach?
May 7, 2024 at 11:45
You should file the DS260 soon, and yes you should add your spouse (create a DS260 for him/her).
May 7, 2024 at 18:50
Why you don’t select me
May 8, 2024 at 23:07
It’s a lottery.

Hi there,
We are from Turkey and my wife has won the lottery but with a case number of 2025EU26XXX, even though we celebrated initially, we later found out that Ankara has only reached 7xxx as of May and consistently been bad over the last few years. We don’t neither have US visa(tourist visa interview scheduled to take place on Sep 6th) nor Schengen which has become really difficult these days. Is there any hope for us?
May 6, 2024 at 11:54
You are correct to be concerned about Ankara. You should think about moving to another country before the number becomes current. You have time to understand that more, so be patient.
May 7, 2024 at 11:59
Stay positive always as long as you are alive hope is there

May 9, 2024 at 11:25
Thanks for the great job you’re doing.👍🏾
My wife, a senior staff nurse, won with a Case Number 2025AF22XXX in Ghana. She successfully passed all her high school papers and holds a diploma in nursing. We have three (3) children.
I have three questions that have been bothering me and would like you to give me your candid advice.
1. Do you think we have a chance given the pace at which visa processing work is reportedly slow at the US Embassy in Ghana?
2. Should we look for a nearby consulate? If yes, what is the procedure?
3. If we’re successful, should we all move to the US at once or she should go first for us to come later?
I’m counting on you for a timely response. Thank you.
May 10, 2024 at 05:48
1. Probably not if they continue as they have performed in DV2024. You should apply from a different country.
2. It is all based on current address on the ds260 – so you have to move.
3.That is up to you.
