hey great man
I am the winner of dv lottery 2015 and thanks god and you that I had my visa
if you have any information about how to apply for equivalence of my diploma and my level of study in united states of america? and can i translate all my documents?

Translate the documents, but as for the education, I would personally wait until you need to do so. However, you could look for a reputable form that could write an assessment for you – I don’t know of any.
Interview
Dear Simon.
They said yes very quickly and we are still in shock.
Thank you for your confidence and help.
Thank you to the other people’s stories I read whose information was a huge guide.
1: the literature we read prior to interview says arrive in USA in September.
The visa runs out mid October.
Can we leave it until October?
2: can we just make a 5 day quick trip/ holiday to Hawaii to stamp the visa or should we go to where the green card will be sent? Our 6 month Medicals will last until November.
3: there seems to be leeway with regard to a 6 month or 1 year for the 2nd arrival in USA. I’ve got so much to sort out here I just don’t know if I can do it in 6 months? Houses, work, family etc etc teeing up jobs on the other side of the world/ health ins.
Is there anywhere I can find a definitive answer
Is it ok to leave it for 12 months?
Hello Simon, can you please help my friend with his questions. He try to register on this website but he can’t, because he didn’t have email address.he is 2016 winner and he had been interview a week ago, but he is on administrative process. He said that evertime he checked his visa status, is always there that his visa is ready. He just want to know what is the meaning of that visa is ready.
Thanks
Strangely, US embassy in Malaysia doesn’t have any education qualification outlined on their website for diversity visa program. Where do you think I can find out more info regarding this issue?
Not specifically on Malaysia, but the general level is the level at which an American child could enter US college (University). In the USA that is typically around 18 years old – and that is pretty much the same point the world over.
Hi Simon, many people are misusing your generosity by repeating questions several times. I think you should write a caveat at the top of the page stating that repeated questions won’t be answered /will be disregarded. This will save you the valuable precious time and cultivate discipline.
Otherwise we’re always thankful for your wonderful work.
Hey simon I am wondering if there will be a second draw this year for DV2017? I heard a rumor but I think its bogus 😛 anyways thank you for your efforts and hope u have a nice day!
Dear Brit. Will an i-34 with no copies of the pertitioner’s id,payslip and other required copies be accepted? The reason why i ask is that i have just received one but without copies attached?
Simon, since March 1,2016, I and my wife including our two children went for interview at embassy, we was place on Administrative Processing, the consular that interview us, said we shall not call or write, they will called us. Is there any help or further information on Administrative Processing?
Hey Brit, I am going to apply through work experience, nearly 15 Years ago I did some IT (Software Programming) Courses in an Institute, that institute now not active, should I include those certificate as well, or its better not to include those certificate since the institute is close now, please help?
Thanks Brit, I have 8 Years of experience in the Field of Graphic Designing and i have 14 Years of total experience in the field of IT, its better to show all those experience, to show my experience, I can show the Job offer letters as well right? I dont have the experience letters for some companies
Hi Simon,
When I first completed the DS260 I was still a student, and when I got my engineer’s degree Bac +5 I unlocked it february to update it. But when I submited it I didn’t change my statut as student. and now I’m working. Will that be a probleme ? should I open it again or not? My Cn is AF 52*** from Algiers.
Hello Simon
I sent them an email to unlock the DS260. How long does it take to KCC to confirm the DS260 after that I submit it again ? I’m 2016AF52***, now that Dv2017 are also sending their DV2016, won’t they make some delay ? or should I call them ?
Our case is ready now but the problem is that the CEAC shows only 3 of us .
I completed the ds260 form on may 2015 and unlocked it to add my new born son on Oct 2015.
Now the KCC shows 4 forms completed but the CEAC shows only 3 cases under the same case number !!
By the way the 2nl also shows only 3 but I know it’s normal for 2nl letter not to include the added derivatives

Sorry.. i mean the last years they announced two visa bulltin at the same time ,, will they do the same thing next month or they will announced auguste visa bulletin only ?
Hi Simon
I am working as procurement engineer.
how should I answer to this “Does this job require at least 2 years of training or experience? “. Thank you.
Did you use two years or more to train as a procurement officer? Or did you require two years or more attachment experience before you’re given a license to operate as PO? If the answer is below two years, then don’t use the procurement officer as a qualification
My wife is the principal applicant, we are due for interview this july. while filling ds260 I stated college Certificate in education area, but I lost my college certificate and getting a replacement may take longer. will that affect our case if I fail to produce the Certificate ?
Hi brit,
I read your post about add new birth but last year we had a new bith after to send our DS-260 and we created a DS for our baby but we didn’t unlock parents DS, after that we wrote an email to KCC to inform them we added a new birth in our case and KCC answered us. Now in 2NL we do not see the name of our baby only me and my wife. Is it normal or an issue and what can we do ?
We have Ds confirm number, passport and all document for our baby
The 2NL often comes without added beneficiaries. So – attend the interview with the baby and take all documents for the child (plus medical). However, your own DS260 will need correction at the interview.
Hi Brits am from Freetown, when i was filling my DS-260 form i answered to the question have you ever leave in an address other than your current address i said no, but in 2015 i spent 12 days in ivory coast and 28 days in Italy on a short training on conducting financial investigation and tax crime @ the OECD i was handed a certificate after the three weeks course but never mentioned it on the DS-260 form should i call the embassy and explain to them now because my case is current and its is advisable to show them the certificate. Please advice am a little bit confuse.
I have a question for you, my husband and I already have an appointment, I read that for the appointment must carry your passport with the visa, my husband has never had visa because he has entered the United States with European passport ESTA . My question is this, your ESTA expired last year, we have not renovated since we have not traveled to the United States, for the appointment we have to take the ESTA renovated, because in that case approve us serious visa pay something unnecessary because no longer serve us.
Hello Simon,
A medical query here. What happens if someone contacted TB sometimes back ago which resulted in lobectomy (removal of a lobe). The rest of the lobes are in tip top condition without any scars. Will the person be subjected to the culture test because of the missing lobe yet all the other lobes are quite healthy? We are chasing time here hence am worried.
Gracias.
If you are worried, the best approach would be to contact the panel physician now and discuss the issue with them. It might cost extra money, but if tests are needed you would have time to do that and be ready for the “real” medical.
Hello simon
Can you please answer me so I submit my DS260, as I said I work as a procurement Engineer which needs 5 years of of study at a college.
So the answer to this question ” “Does this job require at least 2 years of training or experience? “. Should be yes or now ? I am working since April.
Permission Mr Britt to answer this.
You have to be clear to the CO that you’re using academic qualification for the interview that’s if you have shs certificate too. You’re more qualified if you use the academic qualification because you required 5years to train as a procurement engineer which I believe u did. If you want to go by your work experience, they would disqualify you because you have not been two years at work since you started in April? So use the academic qualification first.
I had already answered the question which was about filling in the form – NOT how to handle the interview.
Also, your answers indicate that you misunderstand the rules on qualifying via work experience. It is NOT necessary to have trained for 2 years. It is only necessary to have 2 years in a job that NORMALLY requires two years of training. The difference being that two years of experience without the training is acceptable. It is precisely for reasons like that that I don’t encourage others to do the answering – even though it is well intentioned.
my husband AP process take more then 6 month and he is steel in process
we are from Iran and he serve in military
is it normal to take 6 month AP ?
because all of our friends got their visa in 4 or 5 month and they serve in military too .
Hi Simon, I know that a police certificate Is needed for anywhere that you have lived for six months or one year (depending…..) My wife left Jamaica 14 days before her 16th birthday (in the same month as her birthday – so for example she left Jamaica on November 2 and her 16th birthday was on November 16). I know that this means that she was not 16 when she left Jamaica, therefore she should not need a police certificate from there; however, in the DS 260 it only asks to list the month and year, from your 16th birthday (therefore the DS 260 has November 1989 – for example) and not the specific date. Therefore, there is no way for the CP to know that she was not 16 in Jamaica (again, because you only list the month and year that you lived at an address from your 16th birthday, which happened to be the same month and year that she migrated from Jamaica).
Do you recommend that we try to get the police certificate from Jamaica just to err on the side of caution?
Yes, theoretically, but in practice it is a risk. The problem with an E3 is that it is a temporary visa, so the support by him will be “time limited”. You would be better to use a permanent resident or citizen.
I’m from Iran and I’m in AP process for 5 month
on interview day 2 person goes to interview same as me from Iran
they got AP too
but both of them got their visa last month and I’m steel waiting
some one says to me the US government check your data and it may
take a long time
i have simple question,do they have access to check our background
from Iran ? because i didn’t do anything wrong in my life .
if they have access why i don’t get my visa yet ?
The Iranian government does not co-operate and take a stance against the USA. That is why there is a delay. AP times vary from person to person. You simply have to wait.
Hello dear simon
Im dv 2016 winner evry thing is ok with me exept im afraid of the document of my sponsor which is my ancle she s maried with three kids she and her husband working together my question is
_how much must she got per year to be able to sponsor me ?
_if she haven’t. Enough to sponsor me can i add the gains of his husband ?
_I have between 5000 and 6000 € in my account is that usefull?
Please advice me you know better thanks.
Kiss your little. Daughter.
I am a DV winner from Egypt. I got a friend address in the USA to go for after arrival at the united states. However i can not find anyone to act as a sponsor of me.
I have a current balance of 9000 us dollars. and my father is going to give me a flat as a gift ( by legal contract) Which is worth 45000 us dollars (i will take the flat contract to the interview as an asset). Do you think this is enough to prove NOT to be a public charge after arrival at USA?
Take the evidence you have. In Cairo that is likely to be enough. Your education and work experience will also allow the CO to form an opinion about your public charge risk. So, there is some small risk that the CO is not satisfied, and that small risk can have a HIGH impact if you are interviewing toward the end of the fiscal year. So the decision is up to you…
Dear MR. Simon,
i forget to mention that i am winner of dv 2017 not 2016 with case no 2017af000053xx.
i am 25 years, single, a pharmacist, working at a reputable agency with ielts score of 7. and with gpa 3.6-4.
I said in my ds-260 that i intend to work in research in us and i am also currently a master course student now. is these qualifications enough?
Hello Mr Simon
Thanks for your help .
I would love to get your feed back whenever you can reply .
I have got the I-134 from my sponsor with all supporting documents ..
first my questions is : does the I-134 has to meet 100% of the poverty guideline or 125% ??
My sponsor 2015 income was about $17K got the tax return of the 2015 and also got the TAX return from 2014 where my sponsor made more then $40k.
last years income is less then before because my sponsor had to move from a state to an other and was off work for a while .
will that be okay or do you think I should find an other sponsor ??
My interview is going to be in july in Madrid
( do you have any idea if the interview is hard or not in US embassy in Madrid)
I will be looking forward to hear from you and wish you the best as well as the lil Sophia
Hi Brits i started to work in 2013 but the embassy in freetown asks for Labour card and i lost my labour card i already have one for 2016. My question is will the CO ask me why i have a new Labour card and denied me the visa.
Hi Simon,
For the documents concerning the education, I just have to show them my baccalaurate and university diploma. Or I should take all the report cards since I started shool.
Hi simon,
What if the principle applicant is issued a visa, but the derivative child whose age is frozen on Adminstrative processing, is there any chance of denial for that derivative? No documents were missing and his age is under freeze up to 8August . The embassy kept his passport. Please ur idea?
I’m not certain whether the CSPA protection will continue during AP that goes past the end of August – but ALL of August is covered, so it is only September that is the question.
Hi there Simon, hope everything’s going great with you. I have a question,Do you by any chance know anything about the slow AP process reasons this year? I’m an Iranian and I interviewed in October and I’m waiting for AP processs for about 7 months.Since I’m a woman I taught it would finished sooner. I asked a lot of other Iranian applicants and they stuck in the AP process like me. If you have any idea about this thing please let us know.
Iranian cases take a long time in AP. Your country is not co-operative, and is aggressive toward the USA – and that is why there are long delays. I can’t predict when your AP will end.
Hello Mr Simon I appreciate what you have been doing .
I’m 2017 DV winner from Sudan I studied primary school and intermediate as well but didn’t reach high school because I turned to vocational education and went through to the university and studied one year as rehabilitation to complete the courses which I spouse to have them in high school.
After this year I studied engineering for tow years and additional year to have diploma in engineering wich I’m having it now .
My question is: is this certificate meets the requirements of DV 2017
Thank you in advance sir
Best regards
I cannot say for sure. High school (up to around age 18 or the point of University entry) is the standard they are looking for. Vocational education prior to that point is in danger of being disallowed, so the CO will have to make a decision about that. I can’t be certain of how the CO sees that.
Second question I’m get the cod job 53 – 7370 the same my job shows my (SOC), if it is not matching the Job Zone is it possible that get me rejected because of that….. I need your advice
I’m really appreciate what you do, thank you very much in advance
Dv winners from roa. we are family of four and we have around 25 thousand dollars with some property.we have no supporters but my sister’s fiance is american. He works in korea. He is plannig to go to the us after our inyerview. We are going to stay at his house in america so is it ok if he just writes letter about it when we have our interview in july in seoul. Is it going to be helpful?
Dear Brit!If one had fraudulently held citizenship for another country but have cancelled that citizenship under pardon from the government of that country, what documents should i carry to the interview? Can i carry the cancelled documents to the interview too?I did indicate on my DS-260 that i once held citizenship for a certain country.
Take whatever documents you have to explain the whole mess (the fraudulent document, court documents and the pardon). I hope you will live an honest life if you do get to the USA.

May 25, 2016 at 14:00
The ESTA is not a visa (it is part of the visa WAIVER program) and there is no need to renew it for the interview.

Gracias.
May 25, 2016 at 14:36
TB that has been successfully treated will not cause disqualification.
May 25, 2016 at 15:08
Thanks Simon… that means I won’t be subjected to the 8 week TB culture test… my interview is probably in Sept hence am worried.
May 25, 2016 at 15:15
If you are worried, the best approach would be to contact the panel physician now and discuss the issue with them.

May 25, 2016 at 19:40
The answer is obvious from what you just wrote.
May 27, 2016 at 10:35
Permission Mr Britt to answer this.
May 27, 2016 at 13:54
I had already answered the question which was about filling in the form – NOT how to handle the interview.
May 25, 2016 at 20:42
my husband AP process take more then 6 month and he is steel in process
we are from Iran and he serve in military
is it normal to take 6 month AP ?
because all of our friends got their visa in 4 or 5 month and they serve in military too .
May 25, 2016 at 22:56
AP times vary.
May 25, 2016 at 21:34
Hi Simon, I know that a police certificate Is needed for anywhere that you have lived for six months or one year (depending…..) My wife left Jamaica 14 days before her 16th birthday (in the same month as her birthday – so for example she left Jamaica on November 2 and her 16th birthday was on November 16).
Thanks!
May 25, 2016 at 21:40
Yes, get it.
May 25, 2016 at 21:43
Thanks
May 25, 2016 at 22:04
you didn’t answer me
May 25, 2016 at 23:41
Thanks Simon.one of my Australian citizan cousin work in usa on a special e3 visa.can he give a i-134 for me?
May 25, 2016 at 23:54
Yes, theoretically, but in practice it is a risk. The problem with an E3 is that it is a temporary visa, so the support by him will be “time limited”. You would be better to use a permanent resident or citizen.
May 26, 2016 at 07:45

I’m from Iran and I’m in AP process for 5 month
on interview day 2 person goes to interview same as me from Iran
they got AP too
but both of them got their visa last month and I’m steel waiting
some one says to me the US government check your data and it may
take a long time
i have simple question,do they have access to check our background
from Iran ? because i didn’t do anything wrong in my life .
if they have access why i don’t get my visa yet ?
May 26, 2016 at 13:51
The Iranian government does not co-operate and take a stance against the USA. That is why there is a delay. AP times vary from person to person. You simply have to wait.

May 26, 2016 at 16:13
Dear Mr. Simon,
I am a DV winner from Egypt.
Do you think this is enough to prove NOT to be a public charge after arrival at USA?
sorry to much load you,
May 26, 2016 at 17:12
Take the evidence you have. In Cairo that is likely to be enough. Your education and work experience will also allow the CO to form an opinion about your public charge risk. So, there is some small risk that the CO is not satisfied, and that small risk can have a HIGH impact if you are interviewing toward the end of the fiscal year. So the decision is up to you…
May 26, 2016 at 18:31
Dear MR. Simon,
i forget to mention that i am winner of dv 2017 not 2016 with case no 2017af000053xx.
i am 25 years, single, a pharmacist, working at a reputable agency with ielts score of 7. and with gpa 3.6-4.
I said in my ds-260 that i intend to work in research in us and i am also currently a master course student now. is these qualifications enough?
May 26, 2016 at 19:17
You should be OK – but ultimately the CO decides.
May 27, 2016 at 04:44
Hy Brit can Nairobi Kenya Embassy accept host or they ask for affidavit of support?
May 27, 2016 at 06:06
They have been known to ask for I-134, but generally accept the hosts.
May 27, 2016 at 10:38
Hello Mr Simon
Best Regards
May 27, 2016 at 13:46
100%. Get recent payslips from your sponsor to show the improvement in income this year.
Madrid is average.
May 27, 2016 at 11:09
Hi Brits i started to work in 2013 but the embassy in freetown asks for Labour card and i lost my labour card i already have one for 2016. My question is will the CO ask me why i have a new Labour card and denied me the visa.
May 27, 2016 at 13:44
I don’t know. That is the first I have heard about needing a labour card.
May 27, 2016 at 12:03
Hi Simon,
For the documents concerning the education, I just have to show them my baccalaurate and university diploma. Or I should take all the report cards since I started shool.
May 27, 2016 at 13:43
You can take additional documents to the interview, just in case.
May 27, 2016 at 15:51
Hi simon,
What if the principle applicant is issued a visa, but the derivative child whose age is frozen on Adminstrative processing, is there any chance of denial for that derivative? No documents were missing and his age is under freeze up to 8August . The embassy kept his passport. Please ur idea?
May 27, 2016 at 17:03
I’m not certain whether the CSPA protection will continue during AP that goes past the end of August – but ALL of August is covered, so it is only September that is the question.
May 27, 2016 at 16:36
Hi there Simon, hope everything’s going great with you.
May 27, 2016 at 16:59
Iranian cases take a long time in AP. Your country is not co-operative, and is aggressive toward the USA – and that is why there are long delays. I can’t predict when your AP will end.
May 27, 2016 at 18:18
Thanks for the quick reply. I’m also waiting for a new CEAC data analysis from you, those were very helpful.
May 27, 2016 at 18:24
There are no CEAC updates for the time being.

May 27, 2016 at 17:07
Hello Mr Simon I appreciate what you have been doing .
May 27, 2016 at 18:31
I cannot say for sure. High school (up to around age 18 or the point of University entry) is the standard they are looking for. Vocational education prior to that point is in danger of being disallowed, so the CO will have to make a decision about that. I can’t be certain of how the CO sees that.
May 27, 2016 at 17:48
Dear brit, tanx for your kindness and your helps, no mre ceac data for dv2016?
Good job
May 27, 2016 at 18:27

He is plannig to go to the us after our inyerview. We are going to stay at his house in america so is it ok if he just writes letter about it when we have our interview in july in seoul. Your own money is enough and you could get an I-134 from the fiancé.

May 28, 2016 at 13:57
Dear Brit!If one had fraudulently held citizenship for another country but have cancelled that citizenship under pardon from the government of that country, what documents should i carry to the interview? Can i carry the cancelled documents to the interview too?I did indicate on my DS-260 that i once held citizenship for a certain country.
May 28, 2016 at 14:00
Take whatever documents you have to explain the whole mess (the fraudulent document, court documents and the pardon). I hope you will live an honest life if you do get to the USA.
May 28, 2016 at 14:56
Sorry Mr Brit Simon
I need answer for Job Zone 2, And SPV Range (4.0 to < 6.0)

May 28, 2016 at 15:20

You obviously know the job zone and SVP ranges, so you must know that job cannot qualify you. So – what is your question?
May 28, 2016 at 15:37
Thank you,
I thought only required two years experience and is not job Zone and SPV
May 28, 2016 at 15:52
Two years experience in a specific type of job with a SVP OVER 7.
