OK the new Via Bulletin is released, and this one is pretty important. I am HOPING that KCC will begin to schedule interviews between now and the end of the month – these would be for January interviews. Of course that is just my hope, not a certainty, and there are embassies that will not take appointments at the moment. However, if DV2021 is to get close to the quota, we need to see interviews starting in January. So this one is important.
Like last month, we can see the numbers have only increased slightly, and is lower after three months than normal. That should not be a surprise really because this is an abnormal year where NO cases are being scheduled yet. That means the VB should not be increased much as there were already enough cases that were ready for scheduling from the earlier numbers. That is how the VB works, and you should NOT be calculating expected final VB numbers based on the month to month progress. To understand why that means case number increases had to be small this month, watch the video posted below.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means. Some countries have been called out as “exceptions” meaning that selectees chargeable to those two countries (regardless of where they will interview) are subject to a lower VB number for the month than the rest of the region. This is done to slow down processing for countries with a high number of selectees to spread out the workload over a longer time. Please read this linked article on how to read the visa bulletin.

November 30, 2020 at 11:04
hi Brit
im dv 2021 winner with CN AF23***.yet to be requested for my documents but i would like to know if the police clearance must be done for both spouses since both are over 16yrs since I’m preparing in advance. Thanks Brit
November 30, 2020 at 15:25
“Both spouses”?? You are supposed to have only one spouse (a husband or wife).
But yes – anyone over 16 needs police certs.
November 28, 2020 at 19:43
Hi Simon,
I am from Sudan. My Case Number 2021AF33 *** I have not filled out the ds260 form yet. Is this a problem? If not, In your opinion, when is the appropriate time to fill out the form?
Thanks in advance.
November 28, 2020 at 19:48
Not a problem, you could complete it over the next month or two with no delay at all.
November 28, 2020 at 15:08
Hello brit my case number is 2021AS3xxx o’m current right now. My husband doesn’t have a birth certificate cause he was born in saudi arabia when hi sparents weren’t legal here. We are planning to get him a birth certificate from somali empassy and sign it from the Saudi goverment because i read this from travel.state.gov
Comments: Birth certificates issued by embassies or foreign missions in Saudi Arabia are generally not acceptable for immigration purposes. However, third country nationals living in Saudi Arabia originating in countries experiencing serious civil unrest (such as Yemen, Syria or Somalia) and therefore unable to access civil services from their home countries, or those born while their parents were not in legal status in Saudi Arabia and therefore unable to obtain a Saudi birth certificate, may approach a special office in their embassy to obtain a birth certificate. To be considered, these embassy birth certificates must be authenticated by the Saudi MOFA.
And it’s exactly my husbands situation. Do you think it will ve accepted and ok or do u think i should apply by my self and it’s a big risk doing this?? Thank u
November 28, 2020 at 15:42
I would say to follow the instructions provided.
Assuming you are the principal selectee there is no risk to your case – and following procedures should mean he is OK.
November 28, 2020 at 22:53
Okay. I’m the main selectee do u think if -god forbids- they find his papers not good it will be done for both of us or they will just refuse his visa and i get mine? Is it all or none situation?
November 29, 2020 at 00:34
I already answered that!
November 28, 2020 at 08:48
Hi Brit, thanks for great work. Can i just submit documents without receiving any email from KCC
November 28, 2020 at 13:18
You can do that, but I do not recommend it.
November 27, 2020 at 14:27
Hi Brit (The Amazing Brit!) , Case: DV2021 ASXXX16XX. My number is alreafy current and DS260 is filled Correctly, All Docs sent are OK got emails from KCC all is Good!
Do you think it is matter of any day/minutes? now to get the 2NL? See you soon in WoodLand Hills we’ll probably be Neighbors ;).
Sent email to KCC Got Laconic answer that all the Docs are good and processed and now to wait for my number to become current(it alreadyiis for 2 Months now.)
Thank you for what you’re doing been following for a while!
November 27, 2020 at 15:11
Woodland Hills is about 350 miles south of me – so not quite neighbors, but fellow Californians.
I am hoping they send 2NLs before the end of this month so we get January processing – but we won’t be sure of that until it happens.
November 27, 2020 at 16:32
1. Do you think i will be among the first interviews as soon as they start scheduling? Since 16XX became current a while a go…? If all goes as planned we’ll be able to fly by end of Jan? Should we take part in the 2021 lawsuit or no need with our number?..
2. Brit on the vaccines question on DS-260 i marked yes that they’re done because i know in my country they give about the same as in US, but it is years ago and i can’t provide records? Is there a need to bring a vaccines proof or somthing like that to the interview?
Also Brit, 350Miles are not too far compared to the contribution willing to drive over with a flower/chocolate bouquet.
3. Is there a way to Donate?
Many many many thanks!!!!!!
November 27, 2020 at 16:55
1. It’s hard to guess exactly. It will partly depend on your embassy. There is a lawsuit going, but there is no way to join that lawsuit.
2. The physician will sort it out. They know what everyone gets, and will administer anything missing.

Hi brit i won dv 2021 with case number of AF 16***…i was single whn i entr the lottery , but we were planning to get married by the end of 2020 and the lottery was out .i filled my ds 260 as single by the time we werent merried.i am worried what to do. And i cant get clear information of this issuse. We share comon bank account , we have our engagment cermony ,our church attendance and so many things to prove our relationship’s is real. November 27, 2020 at 10:25
Thanks Brit more blessing on you for help
But
I just want to ask you for
When you send ds260 and then in few week sent support documents to KCC without email asked you supported documents
There’s a problem that are affected your case?
Thank you.
November 27, 2020 at 14:55
I believe that can lead to documents not being filed correctly against a case. So – at this early date I recommend people wait to be asked to send documents, especially as for many, rushing to provide documents doesn’t speed up their case at all because of their case numbers.
November 25, 2020 at 05:12
Hi Britt, My Case Number: 2021OC000001xx. All my documents were sent two months ago. I thought having a lower number I would have received an interview by now. At what point do you think I should ring my local embassy to check the status due to the current environment.
Thank ou!
November 25, 2020 at 14:58
Your embassy won’t know anything about your case yet. It is up to KCC to schedule the interview, and they have not started that yet due to the immigrant ban.
November 25, 2020 at 04:08
Dear Brit, There are about 18 DV visas issued in October. Could these be exceptional cases that are not effected by the bans? From Travel.state, gov Visa statistics.
https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/Immigrant-Statistics/MonthlyIVIssuances/OCTOBER%202020%20-%20IV%20Issuances%20by%20Post%20and%20Visa%20Class.pdf
November 25, 2020 at 07:56
That is interesting because Hungary belongs to the Schengen Area.
November 25, 2020 at 14:59
You can work around the Schengen ban by staying in a third country for 14 days prior to entry to the USA.
November 25, 2020 at 14:57
All cases are affected by the bans, but some could be issued under NIE waivers.
November 26, 2020 at 07:28
Got it. Thanks Brit.
November 23, 2020 at 21:52
Hi Brit. What if my consular department doesn’t work when i get scheduled for interview? What should I do?
November 23, 2020 at 22:09
KCC won’t schedule the appointment if the embassy is closed. But if the embassy is planned to be open, so your case gets sent to the embassy, they are then responsible to rearrange when that is possible. So – no point in planning now. Wait and see.
November 23, 2020 at 19:05
I always reading your new posts, now i don’t understand when kcc send schedule day my nomber is current already because my number is 32** from europe. And in kcc already ds 260 and next documents packeges and i heve from them mail like everithing is good. When will send from kcc scedule for interwove.
November 23, 2020 at 20:58
I am hoping they will schedule appointments in January by sending the 2NLs in the remainder of this month. However, we have to wait and see if they do that.
November 23, 2020 at 17:01
Hello Dear Brit
Thank you so much for all your effort <3
I am DV winner 2021 AS 113* ( Eleven hundred round )
I submitted my further documents in 9th OCT and received my Congratulations , you case number is ready for scheduling when it becomes Current .
SO when receiving 2NL My case number will get an appointment following the number order ? or i submitted DS 260 and documents late so the appointment will come late ?
what can i expect ?
November 23, 2020 at 20:51
You are current, so when they start scheduling interviews you will be in that batch (assuming your embassy is open).
November 23, 2020 at 04:41
Brit, Vb fr January was released in 19th nov n so far they haven’t send 2NL .. I kw u have said we have to see til end of this month . Bt again as u earlier replied to a comment I saw KCC normally send 2NL in two batches.,the frst batch will be sent once that month vb is out . So as vb is out n they haven’t sent 2NL it means they are not sending 2NLs this month???
November 23, 2020 at 05:30
No – it means you need to be patient.
November 22, 2020 at 10:40
Hi Brit,
I have about $20K in cash but I don’t have a bank account. Can I take them to the interview as proof of not becoming a public charge?
Thanks
November 22, 2020 at 14:50
No
November 22, 2020 at 08:51
Hello, any one from Africa with case number 7k-8k get document confirmation(ok) email
November 22, 2020 at 14:48
Of course – and case numbers MUCH higher. Every case is different.
November 22, 2020 at 06:44
Brit,
1: I am the winner of dv 2021 and already filled up Ds 260.
I have already got email for further document and I sent further documents also in 6 weeks back. While sending further documents I got email from KCC that I will get some email in next 3-6 weeks but still I haven’t got any email. Is it normal??
2: My case number lies in around 9100 from Nepal. Is it lies in high case number or is lies in low case number?
Thank you Brit ????
November 22, 2020 at 14:43
1. Yes. It won’t be 6 weeks.
2. High.
November 22, 2020 at 04:56
Hi Brit,
I’m noticing in a Facebook group there are people whose CN are not even current who are receiving 2NL’s. Does that sound possible to you?
Thanks!
November 22, 2020 at 06:03
Link please.
November 22, 2020 at 13:40
People getting 2NLs when their cases are not current? That’s a very big joke. People on this platform are not kids.
November 22, 2020 at 14:41
No. What they are receiving is probably document request emails or ready for scheduling emails. Not 2NLs.
November 22, 2020 at 03:16
Thanks brit for the update so you saying if January interview starts 2nls should go out before the end of this month. I’m a dv2021 winner CN OC0162 have already sent ds260 confirmation received and advise waiting for a schedule interview date..hope everything goes well.
November 22, 2020 at 04:55
If there are to be interviews in January they would be sent this month, yes.
November 21, 2020 at 21:56
Hi Brit,
The January VB being released, some people (already current per the VB) have contacted KCC asking whether their documents (which they sent months ago) are good.
1. What would you say about KCC’s reply that it is still processing their document.
2. Assuming that that is a conventional reply without specific meaning, does that mean that KCC is not hoping for some January interviews scheduling? (Although the Ban would have ended by then)
3. Is there anything you would recommend to these above mentioned people who are current and had sent documents ?
November 22, 2020 at 04:51
1. Nothing in particular.
2. Doesn’t mean anything about what KCC are planning.
3. Those people could contact KCC if they are unable to exercise patience.
November 21, 2020 at 20:21
hello BRIT, my case is DV2021AF8 *** is I am now current, I sent my documents in mid-September and until today KCC still has not confirmed to me if my documents are correct and already treated, can I be concerned?
November 22, 2020 at 04:46
You can email them if you like, or just wait.
November 21, 2020 at 18:42
Hello Brit
My case number is current in this vb (AF101**) but till now the kcc doesn’t send anything about my scanned documents submittals(except automatic response before 5 weeks?
What shall i do?
November 22, 2020 at 04:42
You can email them if you want.
November 21, 2020 at 15:17
Hi Brit pls I need ur advice on dis. I’m AF2*** Dv 2021. I’m a registered nurse with over 7yrs working experience and will be starting a new program in school next year Jan of which I have to pay my school fees by 15 December 2020. Due to d uncertainties of dv of late I’m confused as to not pay d fees and forget about schooling or pay and let d money go waste wen I get my visa
November 21, 2020 at 16:49
You have to decide for yourself.
November 21, 2020 at 14:11
Hello Brit! My case number is AF11*** submitted my DS 260 but up to now i have not received the email requesting for documents. I think my case no. may go current on the next visa bulletin, should i continue waiting for the email or i can go ahead and submit the documents without the email?
November 21, 2020 at 16:45
You can mail KCC and ask.
November 21, 2020 at 13:56
thanks
November 21, 2020 at 11:00
Hi brits! Thanks for your good work and may God add you more blessings. Am dv 2021 winner AF34*** and I submitted my DS 260 on July but up to now I have never received any email from kcc asking for supporting documents, should I be worried about it? Is there a case where they don’t communicate at all? What can you advise
November 21, 2020 at 15:56
You just need to be patient. Really. Your case number is not going to be current soon – so why are you worrying?
November 21, 2020 at 10:59
Hi Simon, thanks for the note.
DV2021 EU37k here. A few quick questions:
1) Still holding on submitting my ds-260. Not sure if waiting till January or submitting. I might be relocated in a different country and was holding off to avoid a change of address later on. What’s best to do? Don’t wanna risk putting it off too much.
2) What would you say it’s the absolute last call for submitting?
3) Would it be realistic to have the data out on Jan-01 just like the previous years?
4) Any change in the estimate of the highest case numbers?
November 21, 2020 at 15:55
1. You can keep waiting.
2. March is would still be very safe.
3. Yes
4. No
November 23, 2020 at 21:44
What data?
November 23, 2020 at 22:11
Alberto is referring to the CEAC data. Search my site to learn more.
November 21, 2020 at 09:45
Hi Brit.i am 2021AF14XXX.i have submitted my DS 260 on 18th July 2020.i have not received any email from KCC to submit documents…What should I do pleaee
November 21, 2020 at 15:51
You could contact KCC and ask them if you should send documents.
December 4, 2020 at 17:21
owusu im also 2021 winner from gh.we can link up…shawn ofori peasah is Facebook id.tnx
November 21, 2020 at 09:02
Dear Simon,
Want to know your opinion. Have cn:
EU region
19*** number(near the middle between 19 and 20 ths)
Is it high number or it is ok for now?
November 21, 2020 at 15:45
OK
November 21, 2020 at 07:29
And from what case number to what case number is not high for Africa?
November 21, 2020 at 15:43
It’s a relative thing. A man who is 7 foot tall is considered tall, especially when standing in a line next to a 6 foot tall man. But the 6 foot tall man is taller than the next guy who is only 5 foot tall.
Highest case numbers in AF for DV2021 are about 88K.
November 21, 2020 at 18:54
Yeah Simmon! I also saw 92k as case number. There are very high case number in Africa.
So can we understand that under 60k as case number there are 30k principal entrants(included derivatives)?
Thank
November 22, 2020 at 04:44
No. There are more holes in the later number ranges, but we don’t know exactly the distribution of cases yet.
December 6, 2020 at 19:15
Brit,
Thank you for all you do. This holiday a lot of anxious people are most likely feeling a little better, all thanks to what you share with the world.
Albania number in the mid 22xxx. Ds260 sent mid june 2020. Still waiting to receive the 2nl. Should I start to worry at this point or is this wait all normal given what is going on.
Thank you and Happy Holidays to you and your family.
December 6, 2020 at 19:37
No need to worry. Waiting is hard – but that’s what is needed for now.
November 21, 2020 at 07:27
Hi Brits!
Does it meant that 10499 cases will be interviewed in the month of January?
November 21, 2020 at 10:32
You need to read Brit Simon’s holes theory and watch all the videos about case numbers. I think you will find all your answers.
November 21, 2020 at 15:41
No. It means any case number lower than that published number in each region (or country) could get an interview, but only if their case is “ready for scheduling” meaning DS260 and documents sent and processed. Also – there are not 10499 cases under 10500 because there are gaps in the numbers – which I call “holes”. Search my site to understand better.
November 22, 2020 at 16:42
I wanted to clarify one thing. My case number is EU7XXX and in my country only 400 got selected. Does it mean I have to wait for the other cases (EU3XXX, EU5XXX) to be interviews first even if they have not even submitted their DS260 or do it on a later date. How does KCC operate in that case?
November 22, 2020 at 16:57
Once you are current, have your DS260 and documents processed, you would be processed, regardless of whether cases below your number are ready or not.
Obviously at the moment no one has been scheduled yet, and your actual interview date will depend on your embassy, the ban, covid and so on.
November 23, 2020 at 18:48
Once I send my documents if my number was current, let’s say, a month before I sent my DS; will I jump to the beginning of the “line” to be processed and/or scheduled?
November 23, 2020 at 20:52
That would depend on their workload to some extent.
November 21, 2020 at 06:21
Hi Brit
I’m 2019 dv lottery winner from Yemen , I got rejected according to the ban on our country , my question is there any hope of reconsidering my case if Biden (the elected president ) take office and remove the ban from Muslim countries ?
Thanks ??
November 21, 2020 at 15:32
No. That DV year is over and there is no legal basis to issue visas for cases from that year.
November 21, 2020 at 20:04
That’s unfortunate
November 21, 2020 at 05:59
Hi Brit Namaste,
I am from Nepal, winner of DV 2021 with case number around 84**. I got mail from KCC on October asking for further documents and I send the required document on October 20. After that KCC replied that I will get some email in 3-6 weeks. Tomorrow my 6 weeks will be completed but still I haven’t got any letter from KCC. Is it normal or I have to contact KCC?
And another question is as I said my case number is around AS84**, is it lies in high case number or have a good chance??
November 21, 2020 at 15:31
Ignore the 6 weeks. It’s not a commitment. You have MONTHS to wait until your case number is current anyway – so why are you stressing over the 6 weeks???
November 22, 2020 at 16:04
Brit, is case number AS84** from Nepal lies in high case number or is high case number as compare to present scenario ?
November 22, 2020 at 16:06
As I already said. Your case number won’t be ready for months, because it is in the higher ranges. Nepal numbers will cease existing at around 9500 to 10000. Not the cut off – I am talking about case numbers allocated in the draw.
November 21, 2020 at 04:03
dear Simon,
Do you have any idea if the executive order ends in December 31, 2020, the visa bulletin will go faster than now? And my number is AS197XX, do you think the opportunity I will get the green card. Thank you very much.
November 21, 2020 at 04:45
I obviously don’t know what will happen.
As for your number, it’s quite high since Biden will remove the Muslim ban. All you can do is wait and see.
November 28, 2020 at 17:24
and what about AF24xxx for 2021 from Egypt. I saw lots of Egypt’s case numbers are concentrated in the first 20k. So do you think my number is high and risky since Biden will remove the Muslim ban including Sudan?
November 28, 2020 at 19:44
No
November 20, 2020 at 23:41
Thanks Simon! Do you know which embassies/consulates are not taking appointments at the moment?
November 21, 2020 at 00:45
No – I expect that to vary over time depending on local conditions, so people can check their own embassy.
November 21, 2020 at 04:28
Makes sense. I am thinking about potentially switching to another embassy if mine keeps not taking appointments for immigrant visa. But so much can change in the next 6 months that I have time to fill out my DS 260 to start with 🙂
November 20, 2020 at 22:57
First thanks for your efforts we appreciate you that… I would like to ask two questions
My case is AF35xxxx, at what time do you think I can get the interview? According my case does it is high case number. Thanks.
November 20, 2020 at 22:49
Hi Brit… Thanks for the info… Quick reference to this your line “I am HOPING that KCC will begin to schedule interviews between now and the end of the month” why if KCC don’t schedule appointments can there be any legal step taken to force KCC to issue out all designated Visa for DV 2021 Selectees even beyond September 30, 2021
November 20, 2020 at 22:56
That’s a long way off. Let’s wait and see.
November 20, 2020 at 22:49
Hi brit thanks for your update am in usa currently and my case number 10200 can apply adjustment of stutus now or i have to wait till January wait your feedback thanks alot

December 4, 2020 at 17:09
Provide scans of the old and new passports to KCC as well as the interview.
November 20, 2020 at 22:45
Hi Brit
Thanks for the update
November 20, 2020 at 22:36
Would it help if we push embassies and KCC to start schedule interviews? Like calling and emailing or would it be waist of time?
November 20, 2020 at 22:58
Waste of time.
November 20, 2020 at 22:27
Brit, I am the very first to comment here.. as u mention the early posting vb posting send us positive vibes … let’s pray fr d best
