The new Visa Bulletin has been released. This one is for interviews in May, and there is good progress in the numbers.
What is encouraging for me though is that they have released the VB “on time”. That hasn’t happened in a year, and shows that things are returning to normal. Since the last VB we also saw some interviews scheduled for April (around 600 interviews), so we will see how many interviews they can get scheduled for May.
Remember any case which is UNDER the VB number for the region (or country where there is an “Except” number) can be scheduled for interview. However, they will ONLY schedule interviews where the case is “ready for scheduling” (meaning the DS260 and documents have been processed), AND the embassy is operating (open) to accept the interview.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means. Some countries have been called out as “exceptions” meaning that selectees chargeable to those two countries (regardless of where they will interview) are subject to a lower VB number for the month than the rest of the region. This is done to slow down processing for countries with a high number of selectees to spread out the workload over a longer time. Please read this linked article on how to read the visa bulletin.

hello Brit and thank you for your work. I am the winner DV 2021 the passport with which I have and which I subsequently submitted to KCC expires in October 2021 and I do not have the new one yet. Does this pose a problem for the processing of my file by KCC or they can process it and I present my new passport to interview? In advance, thank you for your answer

No problem. Just take the old and new passport to the interview.

Hi Simon,
Thanks God the covid 19 restriction in my country is now eased and the immigration office is starting work and I got the passport of my child.
My CN is 2021AF42xxx and according to June Visa Bulletin my CN is current.
1. Do I need to unlock my ds 260 and update my child ds 260 with the new passport?
2. I sent mine, my wife and my children documents a month ago and now i wat to send the new passport of my child. So do I need to send it all again or only the new passport?
3. I want to change the interview place from Nairobi to Addis Ababa Ethiopia due to cost of transport,
So should I need to send a request to KCC first or should I change my interview place when the DS 260 form is unlocked with out asking KCC?
Best regards,

1. No
2. If you resend anything resend EVERYTHING
3. You cannot change the location yourself, you have to ask KCC.

Hello Mr simon
I thank you a lot for your great work you do for us.. I am cn 2021Af18……
I have a question I will appreciate your help.. What to do if your case number is at NVC? Is there anything to do? What the process to Following… Thank you for your help
April 20, 2021 at 19:54
At NVC is the starting status for EVERY case. It doesn’t mean anything.
What is important is getting your DS260 and documents approved – have you done that?
April 25, 2021 at 12:13
Hi Brit,
I have submitted my DS since july 2020 and my documents last week but my ceac status still at NVC despite multiple mails to KCC asking abouy my case they still sayingi is under process. My CN is 2021AF19xxx please advise.
April 25, 2021 at 18:29
It doesn’t sound like they received the correct documents. You need to check what you sent and contact KCC. I wrote an article about that very recently. Focus on getting that sorted out.
April 15, 2021 at 01:13
Hi Brit,
Im CN 2021AS33XXX and I still have not submitted my DS260
Do you think I’m better off waiting? or should I go ahead and submit?
April 15, 2021 at 03:30
Time to make up your mind. You have no more time to hesitate. Submit in the next couple of weeks, or forget about it entirely.
April 13, 2021 at 18:41
Hello, why do you think the visa bulletin is late?
Thank you for your help
April 13, 2021 at 20:08
It’s not really late, usually the Visa Bulletin is released on the 15th if every month on normal years. If after the 15th it still hasn’t been updated, then it would be late
April 14, 2021 at 05:24
It isn’t late.
April 10, 2021 at 08:41
Dear Brit. I received this email?
“ Dear Applicant,
Thank you for being a valued U.S. Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) customer. Your online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application Form(DS-260) has been submitted. ” is my document correct?
April 10, 2021 at 17:29
That message has NOTHING to do with documents!
April 7, 2021 at 17:11
hello dear simon. i appreciate your wonderful work.you are so kind god bless you
April 6, 2021 at 23:15
Hello Simon,
My case number is SA41xx – do you think I have a chance at all to be interviewed? it seems that my number is high as hell – at this point I’m not sure is just to forget about this.
You are the best and I appreciate your knowledge on this.
April 6, 2021 at 23:25
As high as it is, I think you should send your documents ASAP, no one knows what will happen. Your number is high risk, yes, but maybe in the future to compensate they will set all SA as current. No one knows. So progress as far as you can.
April 7, 2021 at 01:09
There is no way to predict that.
