Hallo brit,so the refused visas(5283) for all regions have been returned to kcc for relocation?
April 14, 2018 at 14:49
Yes
April 16, 2018 at 15:35
hello brit and gitanga .What does this mean sir ?
April 16, 2018 at 19:00
When a case is refused, the visa that would have been used by that person is available for someone else.
April 14, 2018 at 14:46
Hello Brit! How are you?
I want to make a question. I am EU32XXX case number and I saw that about 5700 winners doesn’t continued. So logically if it goes 27XXX the number of winners , maybe I will have a chance for an interview, right?
Thank you!
April 14, 2018 at 14:49
No – that isn’t how it works. The published case number takes into account all the people that don’t continue.
April 14, 2018 at 17:38
First, thank you brit,
I got my visa few days ago. Now I am planning to travel to USA soon.
1- should I carry the x ray with me ?
2- could I pay green card fees once there?
April 14, 2018 at 18:05
1. Yes
2. Yes
April 14, 2018 at 17:45

April 14, 2018 at 18:06
At this point – wait and see is the best answer.
April 15, 2018 at 01:41

April 15, 2018 at 13:55
Yes.
April 15, 2018 at 05:16
Hi Simon,
Say if someone from the OC region wins the 2019 DV lottery this year but they have not submitted their ds-260 form until later at this December due to personal reasons. Is there any risk at submitting at nearly 8 months later?
I tend to think that ‘the first come first serve’ logic is applied in the DV process, that the sooner you submit form the better. Correct me if i’m wrong about this
As you always have said, there is no certainty or definitive outcomes for this. Regardless, I feel a whole lot better about things that it is necessary to hear your experienced opinion about this, Thanks mate
April 15, 2018 at 14:01
Your thinking is wrong. A December DS260 would be fine.
April 15, 2018 at 19:58
Once again i’m grateful, thank you
April 15, 2018 at 08:44
Good day sir brit and a happy weekend to you.i just stumbled across your blog while on Google and I must say it’s really helped me in answering most of my doubts.but then I have a very important issue that I plz do need your help on them
I am a dv 2018 winner with case number AF4665* from Cameroon,I was in the village in May of last year that the lottery was released.i had no access to the Internet but fortunately b4 I left I gave my uncle my confirmation number so he checked and told me I won and he then proceed in filling my form ds 260 ,he told me he had done so together with the agent that I played at his cyber shop while I was in town.i just arrived town 2 days back and on reviewing what they filled I notice a monumental error they did ,the whole information on my mother is wrong.my mother died during child birth but my birth certificate still carries but her names but I was raised by my aunt whom my uncle entered her infos as my mother’s names, now my ds260 doesn’t match my birth certificate so my queries are
1- should I unlock my ds 260 form and correct this error
2 – does KCC not see this as fraud for such a great error to be made ?
3-wont they inform the embassy of such a huge change on a complete change of mother’s names thereby putting my case on risk and subsequent refusal by the embassy?
4-if unlocking my form becomes the last resort does this not cause delay or subsequent miss out on 2nl
5-my uncle said on submitting the form he clicked applicant as the one who filled the form so does this cancels my genuine claims for a mistake made by my uncle, bcos KCC might argue that the form might have been filled by me since he put that it was filled by the applicant ;of course which KCC know the applicant to be the winner of Dv whicj is me??
April 15, 2018 at 14:13
1. Yes
2. KCC don’t adjudicate cases.
3. The embassy will know of the change made.
4. No delay.
5. You are responsible for the data in your form no matter who completed it.
April 15, 2018 at 17:38
Plz Brit just clarify me once more on this answer number 3 of yours on my question.
My problem is if the embassy is aware of the change made,do they see it as fraud and thereby jeopardize my case leading to refusal???,that’s my fear brit
April 15, 2018 at 22:26
I can’t predict the outcome.
April 15, 2018 at 09:48
Hi Simon,
I’m a 2018 dv winner. Now I’m 20 years old an and in this september 16 I’m turning to 21 years. what happen if I don’t get a interview before september 16 ?
Is it going to be a problem?
If it going to be a problem what should i do?
April 15, 2018 at 14:14
No problem. The age limit is only a concern for derivatives of winners.
April 15, 2018 at 10:42
Dear Brit,
What does it mean for a case to be none on the status column of ceac data.
April 15, 2018 at 14:15
A hole. No real case.
April 15, 2018 at 13:50
Hello Mr. Brit, your analysis https://britsimonsays.com/dv2018-some-further-analysis/ on the cutting of the regions still holds? Thank you
April 15, 2018 at 14:19
No.
https://britsimonsays.com/vb-progress-with-3-months-to-go/
April 15, 2018 at 17:13
Hello. My case number EU31XXXX. Maybe I will have a chance for an interview?
April 15, 2018 at 17:16
Maybe, but there is a large risk that you won’t.
April 15, 2018 at 18:37
Dear Britsimon,
Thank you for all the valuable information.
Few more concerns again and hope to get your valuable information.
1) I already have my visa issued along with my family members. We paid about US Dollar 330 for each applicant during our interview. Just wanted to know, do we still have to pay for the Green Card once we arrive (or before going to US) or this amount ($330) is already included for the Green Card?
2) We had bought very brand new Master cooker (kitchen use) for our use in the current location. I really don’t want to sell it off and trying to bring in US, do you thing we can bring that with us as carry on luggage?
Sorry if I asked some silly questions. I never thought it will be so hectic to clear all the stuff and move.
Thank you once again for your patience for answering my questions.
April 15, 2018 at 22:30
1. There is another fee of $220 per person to produce the GC.
2. I don’t know.
April 15, 2018 at 20:24
Hi sir my DV interview is the 17 of April and my affidavit have not yet arrived .can I sit for interview ,then later I take my affidavit there ?
April 15, 2018 at 22:31
Yes, you can do that.
April 15, 2018 at 22:08
hi simon
I mademistake in DS260 I left surname of my father ‘DO NOT KNOW’ because we have same surname wil this influence in the interview and can I change it during my interview thank’s
April 15, 2018 at 22:32
You should be able to update that during the interview.
April 16, 2018 at 15:12
No worries, I emailed and told me that i could fix it during the interview. I had mispelled my moher’s name on ds260
April 16, 2018 at 08:28
Hi Simon,
I meet a person has winner of a 2018 Dv during the medical test yesterday and he did not submit the form by himself, was presented by the travel office for a fee, what should he answer in the interview? hide this agent support or what?
Thanks & appreciate your support.
April 16, 2018 at 16:18
No one should hide anything.
April 16, 2018 at 08:58
Hi Simon, despite I have read all of you posts in this very usefull site, I didn’t find and so it’s still not clear to me about the so called “medical”. Questions:
1) I assume these are the exams and /or maybe vaccination required to get the gc approval?
2) If yes, which are these exams and vaccinations?
3) How and when I will be officially informed by when and to whom to provide such exams/vaccinations?
4) Are these exams and vaccinations mandatory for the winner only or for the derivatives as well?
Thanks very much for your feedaback and have a good day!
April 16, 2018 at 12:15
ALL the information needed regarding the medical exam is available on the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs. Everything you know is there… No medical exam, no GC.Mandatory for all. Again EVERYTHING you need to know is on the website.

You can find ALL the information regarding the medical exams on the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs. EVERYTHING you need to know is there. Cost, doctors, etc. You can go for the medical as soon as you have an interview date. No medical visit, no GC. It is MANDATORY for everyone moving to the US
April 16, 2018 at 16:18
Have you read the dvselectee instructions? You should know enough already.
1. Yes
2. Stop overthinking.
3. Once you get your 2NL you arrange the medical.
4. Derivatives too.
April 16, 2018 at 08:58
I have two degrees BED AND BSC AND AM A TEACHER FOR LAST 10 YEARS
1 DO THE EMABSY ASK MY WORK EXPERIENCE LETTER?
2 IS THAT CRITICAL AND AFFECT MY VISSA?
2. IF I HAVE THE WORK EXPERIENCE LETTER IN HAND , SHOULD IT BE WRITTEN LIKE ” FOR WHOME IT MAY CONCERN ” OR SPECIFICALLY WRRITTEN FOR US EMABSY?
TNX A LOT.
April 16, 2018 at 12:27
No need to have a letter showing your work experience but whe filling in the ds260, there is a list (also available on the bureau of consular affairs) of occupations, find the one that matches your actual occupation. good luck

April 16, 2018 at 16:16
1. If you are qualified on education, no.
2. See 1.
3. You can use your own judgement.
April 16, 2018 at 09:44
Hi Simon, I have a chance to be interviewed with this cn AF40xxx. I will wait and see but I really need your opinion. Thank you
April 16, 2018 at 16:15
I think you have a chance – so wait and see.
April 16, 2018 at 16:30
how can you said that to him and the last VB for AF it was only 28xxx, ::!!!
April 16, 2018 at 18:53
Obviously I *know* that. There are three VBs left.
April 16, 2018 at 09:45
Hi Brit! Actually I got the immigration visa (green card) and I am waiting to enter the Usa.
I was not able to get marry before the interview and I am thinking to do now but I don’t know anything about this process. I have tried to contact the Embassy in Naples (italy) but they do not offer a service for the green card winners. So,do you know how can I have more information about the marriage process after the interview but before entry in the States? (scenario 3)
thanks!
April 16, 2018 at 12:21
If you’re a DV lottery winner who is getting married AFTER the visa was issued, then your partner won’t be allowed to migrate with you to the US. You’ll need to move there alone an once there, sponsor her to get a visa but that won’t be DV lottery related anymore. A whole different procedure
April 16, 2018 at 14:05
Ciao Federica, could you please write me at fausani at hotmail com as I am also a selectee and will go to Naples for the interview. I have few queries, thanks.
April 16, 2018 at 15:25
If you already got the GC then it won’t be a DV lottery related matter anymore. It is too late now to ask for your partner. You’ll have to mirate alone and once tehre, sponsor them and ask for a visa (fiance or spouse) but that is only once you’re there ad t takes quite some time.
April 16, 2018 at 16:14
If the embassy won’t do anything (and that is rare that they will) then it is really too late. You will have to sponsor your husband through family based immigration – which will take around 2 years.
April 16, 2018 at 09:59
Hi Simon,
Does the embassy or the Kentucky Center quickly process administrative processing in the last two months – August and September -? Until the visa is printed before September 30, 2018 or not. thank you .
April 16, 2018 at 12:22
AP can last 2 days just like it cann last months, there is no rush before the end of the fiscal year, just need to be patient. Hopefullt, you’ll be cleared before September 30th
April 16, 2018 at 15:26
There is no rush to process AP cases on their hand, we just have to wait and be patient
April 16, 2018 at 16:12
They complete cases they can – but there are always some cases that are not cleared through AP in time – and even though some clear – there may not be enough visas for them by then.
April 16, 2018 at 11:10
1)Are the Xrays inside our visa packets or should we contact the hospital ? We didn’t get them to hand before interview.
2) Only xrays & vaccination records as medical docs to carry with?
Thanks
April 16, 2018 at 12:25
The Xrays were given back to you and should not be in the visa packets, however you need to carry them with you when arriving at the POE as they might be asked to be shown by the CBP officer. The results of the medical exam however should be in the visa packet.
April 16, 2018 at 15:28
Medical exams results are in the visa packet, not the XRays, however you HAVE TO carry the Xrays results with you when arriving at the POE as they might be asked by the CBP officers and are manatory to have with as well as the passport with visa in it and visa packet.
April 16, 2018 at 19:01
That could vary by post. Full size Xrays are sometimes not provided, so a CD could conceivably be in the visa packet. Either way – the applicant carries anything the embassy gives them.
April 16, 2018 at 16:09
The xrays are sometimes on a CD, and that might be in the packet. Regardless – you carry the visa packet to immigration – that is all they need.
April 16, 2018 at 15:07
Hi Brit .I have changed my pasport.now it is empty ..and i have lost the old one ..if in embassy the consular could wanted the old one ?
April 16, 2018 at 15:22
Well if yiou don’t have it, you simply explain you lost it. In this case it is beter to have changed the passport number on the DS260 to the new number. Did you do that?
April 16, 2018 at 15:46
Yes of course..i have entered the new pasport to ds 260 .is tehe could be any problem with old pasport ?
April 16, 2018 at 18:55
Why would there be a problem?
April 16, 2018 at 15:18
Mohd,
I have done interview in Oct 2017 and in January 2018 I found AP still I m in AP my case no 2018AS2xx.sir how much time it will gain .
April 16, 2018 at 15:19
Are you from a country affected by the travel ban?
April 16, 2018 at 15:53
Yes ,
I m from Afghanistan
April 16, 2018 at 18:59
Afghanistan is not affected by the travel ban. So – you just have to wait for the outcome of AP.
April 16, 2018 at 15:31
Mohd,
I m from Afghanistan
April 16, 2018 at 17:12
please I need you to answer my question! I have my interview in june but, when I filled out my ds260 I didn’t add two of my previous addresses. I wonder if that will affect my status the day of the interview. I think it’s too late for me to unlock the DS to make the changes. please let me know if there is something I can do to avoid any unwanted results. thanks
April 16, 2018 at 18:45
What you could have done was be truthful on the original forms. I can’t say whether this will cause a problem or not. The only way to know is attend the interview.
April 16, 2018 at 18:15
Hello Brit. My case number EU28018. I will have a chance for an interview?
April 16, 2018 at 18:40
You have to wait and see.
April 16, 2018 at 21:53

April 16, 2018 at 21:58
I don’t know much about the Elis system – please persevere.
April 16, 2018 at 21:53
Hello BritSimon, EU region DV2018
Which documents I need to have for me and my wife at Port of entry?
Passports, sealed yellow envelopes, vaccination worksheet + DVDs. That is all we need?
We have lots of supporting documents which we used for the interview, for example: Bank statements, school diplomas, marriage certificate, birth certificates etc. Is it good to take this documents with us as well ?
Thank you so much !
April 17, 2018 at 17:59
Hi Simon, can you please answer? Thank you
April 17, 2018 at 18:38
You don’t need any of the supporting documents for the immigration process. Sealed envelope, passport and Xray if you have it. They usually don’t even take the Xray. It is not another interview.
April 16, 2018 at 21:56
ear simon, thank you for everything. now i am in amrica , march 26 2018 arrive in USA but i do not pay green card fee. money times try to pay green card fee but the system is not active please simon help me what can i do
April 16, 2018 at 23:11
Hi Simon,
I know you are not the lawyer just looking for your opinion:
I have received my green card and I am the permanent resident in the US for 1.5 years already, I would like to apply for citizenship after some time. However I intend to work in Europe for the next year for non-US company. Would that extend my 60 month period for getting the citizenship if I would go back to US for 2 weeks every 6 months? I am planning to stay in Europe for no longer than a year in total.
Thanks
Eddie
April 17, 2018 at 00:49
I’m not certain of those rules.
April 16, 2018 at 23:33
Hello Brit
My passport expires in April of 2019, by immigration regulations of the United States the passport must have at least six months of validity. For my case number I think that I will have the appointment in August or September, now, can it affect that I present my appointment a new passport? that in case of approving the visa it would travel approximately in November.
April 17, 2018 at 00:50
It would be better to have a new passport at the time of interview.
April 17, 2018 at 00:22
Hi brit , I’m a winner of 2017 lottery and now reside in the USA Virginia,I didn’t add my children who are 4 and 2 years old and my husband at the time of filling the forms for the lottery.
What are the documents needed to file for them and how long will it take them to join me.
I may also need the cost as well
Thank you
April 17, 2018 at 00:47
Were they all on the original DV entry form? If yes, you can start a family based sponsorship process. It will take about 2 years, and is more expensive than the DV process.
April 17, 2018 at 06:49
Hi Brit Simon,
My case number is 2018EU21***. Hence, I expect my number to be current in the next month.
It also happened so that I am traveling to the US in mid-May. I already have my B1/B2 visa, tickets, etc.
What would you advice on mentioning this visa in my DS-260 and at what point of time:
once I visit US — there is a good chance my interview would already be scheduled,
now — yes, the visa is in passport and I know the number and plane tickets are on hands, however, the event has not happened yet, hence, it does not feel right to mention it.
Also, I am a bit concerned that if I start to unlock my DS260 that would influence my interview date, which is something I do not wish to play around with.
April 17, 2018 at 16:07
You can mention the USA visit in the interview. That’s all.
April 17, 2018 at 07:09
Hi mr.Brit.
My sponsor is a Us citizen,hi is born in USA,but he hasn’t apply for us passport and has only the naturalization certificate. Is that any problem with the sponsor document?
April 17, 2018 at 16:05
No problem. A drivers license is fine.
April 17, 2018 at 16:09
thanks mr.Brit for the reply
April 17, 2018 at 08:24
Hi simon
Im from africa nd my case no 49000 accroding to da last vb i really felt despair …when my interview will be
April 17, 2018 at 16:05
Your number is risky – that is clear. All you can do is wait and see.
April 17, 2018 at 08:37
Hello Brit! I had to go to interview before my PCC from Australia arrived (as i lived there for more than a year before) and that is the only document pending the rest of documents were perfect and interview went well. But i haven’t received it yet, my worry is what if visas numbers are finished before i receive the PCC? would i still be eligible for visa even if it is beyond Sept 30th 2018?
April 17, 2018 at 16:04
No.
April 17, 2018 at 09:27
Hi Brit,
I am a US tourist visa holder, if i fail on dv process it will cause my US tourist visa revoked ?
April 17, 2018 at 16:02
Not necessarily.
April 17, 2018 at 12:35
Hello Brit, I did my interview on March 06, 2018 and after the interview the consular officer gave me my passport and let me know that my file must undergo an adminstive procedure and that the Embassy will call me in two weeks. I did not receive a call after the two weeks, I wrote to get an idea about my file and they answered me that my file is in process of administrative treatment and that they will contact me as soon as it will be completed. I would like to know what they are checking and then it takes time or it’s a refusal that does not say its name. I had my diplomas out of my home country. they also did not give me the cause of the administrative procedure. I thank you in advance
April 17, 2018 at 15:59
I cannot know what they are doing specifically – AP is generally for missing documents OR for additional background checks. Assuming they are not asking for additional documents, all you can do is wait.
April 17, 2018 at 13:10
Hi brit i want to change my interview to my country embassy does it makes any problem for me or delay my interview my number will be current next month do i need to contact my embassy or just only kcc and one more thing do i need to mention the reason why i want to change my interview place thanks
April 17, 2018 at 15:57
To avoid delay you would have to contact KCC now. Normally they only schedule interviews in the country where you live – so you might have to change your address AND THEN ask them to change the interview location. If you don’t do this now, and instead leave it until the case is scheduled, you will certainly cause a delay.
April 17, 2018 at 16:58
I need to unlock my ds first and then contact kcc to change interview location i want to shift it to my original country
April 17, 2018 at 14:55
Hi Simon. I want to know some details about EU visa processing. there is 18300 quota. And already 10963 issued then apr and may incl 4139 are ready. then on charts there is more ne response and hole areas. what does it mean? is it possible next cutoff will be more than 2000 or 3000 ? thanx.
April 17, 2018 at 15:55
Read this link, then wait and see.
https://britsimonsays.com/vb-progress-with-3-months-to-go/
April 17, 2018 at 20:42
Hi Brit, one question considering the issued visas so far. There are already 10963 issued visas in EU in Xarthisius chart and 4139 ready cases. This ready cases are at least 30% of selectees which did not appear at the interview, So we can not calculate all ready cases as real ready cases which will switch to issued, or? In this case, we have more visas left than 3000 (18300-10963-4139)? Or KCC does not want to issue more that 3000 visas till 30. september because of some reason, nevertheless there are more visas left?!?! What do you think? Thank you in advance!
April 17, 2018 at 20:59
Not all ready cases will convert to issued – some (quite a number) will stay as ready.
However, the current AP number must be taken into account – most of those will become issued.
April 17, 2018 at 17:44
Please when you are selected for the lottery, should you complete the DS-260 form right away…and when filling the form if you attend college already but are looking for a fresh start when you get into the USA, is it necessary to indicate it…also if you are not sure of the kind of vaccinations required, can you wait to do it during the medical examination?
April 17, 2018 at 18:46
I assume you are a DV2019 entrant. This is a lottery with a chance of being selected about once in 200 years. If you are selected, ask your questions then.
April 17, 2018 at 19:14
Hi Sir I have my interview in june but my host will be in vacation outside the us from may to august or septembre so i wonder if that will affect my status
do i need to inform them about my host vacation during the interview or should i change the host ?? What do you think ?
Please let me know if there is somthing i can do to avoid any unwanted results
Thank you Sir.
April 17, 2018 at 20:02
No need to inform them or worry.
April 17, 2018 at 20:12
Hi Brit,
I will always say this, “You’re a great man!” because of the great help you’re dishing out here. I will like to have some little clarification:
1. On the charts produced by Xarthisius, what’s the meaning of “No response”? Does it actually mean the number of persons who are place as “Ready” and do not attend the interview? If yes, then how possible is it to have the “No Response” even for case numbers that have not yet been programmed; from AF 26000 to AF53000?
April 17, 2018 at 21:01
No response is winning cases that have not submitted their DS260. Their status is “At NVC” – but they are current. Cases not yet current are also “at NVC”, so non response numbers should only be based on current cases that could have been scheduled. For AF that is difficult because Cases under the AF current could be Ethiopian or Egyptian.

Hello Brit,
I along with my wife applied for the dv lottery 2019 through an agency however her name was spelt wrong in the application. If she is selected would that after her. Her first name is Sherryka but in the application it was spelt Sherika

If you not from Egypt or Ethiopia you have no reason to worry – and that would be obvious if you had been paying any attention whatsoever.

Hello sir
I am the son of applicant. My family got selected for dv lottery 2018. We got our second letter one week ago. While filling out the dv lottery entry form i was in North Carolina. My parents is in nepal right now. I am already in US in F1 visa. So my question is that should i have to go back to my country for the medical and interview or i can do my medical and interview right here in US.
April 18, 2018 at 14:22
Theoretically you could do it here, but in practice you will run out of time – so go to Nepal if you want the GC.
