Simon, if you compare KDU Embassy to other embassies , what do you think is it more lenient???
January 11, 2017 at 18:32
Yes. Many Nepalese selectees would not be approved at other embassies. KDU has low refusal rates.
January 11, 2017 at 19:46
Hello Mr.Brit

Hi Simon,
my interview was DEC 1Th and i received my visa after 1 week but they put my husband under AP process due to his military check .They told my husband that he would receive his visa after 4 weeks and now it’s been 6 week and still his status is under AP. my question is that do I need to email them for update or it’s not necessary for processing . Thanks
January 11, 2017 at 20:23
Hi SH,if I can ask :is your husband the pricipale applicant? Thank you
January 12, 2017 at 00:00
Your email won’t hurry them.
January 11, 2017 at 20:50

January 11, 2017 at 22:49
I have asked this question because I don’t understand .does they make a military check for every husbands accompanied his wife(principal applicant)?
January 11, 2017 at 23:18
Hi Simon, me and my wife finally got our visas, thank you very much for your help.
We are planning on going in May 10th in the United States, but our visa expires in May 23. Is it a problem that our visa expires while we probably still won’t get Social Security Number and Green Card?
Thanks in advance.
January 11, 2017 at 23:58
No problem.
January 12, 2017 at 01:25
Hi Simon,
My number is OC619. I submitted my DS-260 on 7th Oct and unlocked and resubmitted on 16th Nov. January bulletin shows that my number has become available but I haven’t received any 2NL. After reading your posts and correspondences I’m assuming I might get it around April or May. Your thoughts on this assumption.
Thanks
January 12, 2017 at 02:56
Yep – that’s about right.
January 12, 2017 at 04:42
Hi Simon;
Can you advise me what to do because right now I am on AP about 2 months and half already, not hearing anything from them. I have interview on Nov 2016.
thanks Simon
January 12, 2017 at 06:29
You just wait.

Thank u for your answers.
January 12, 2017 at 16:34
So now you are asking another extraordinarily over complicated scenario. It seems like you are asking me to provide answers so you can give those answers to other people. Is that what you are doing – explain.
January 12, 2017 at 08:01
Is it possible to use I 134 of aperson other than specified on DS 260.
Thank you.
January 12, 2017 at 14:59

January 12, 2017 at 10:48
hi Simon, trust all is well and thanks in advance for the assistance.
I won the USA lottery some two years ago, landed in the US (with my wife and daughter) in September 2015, received my green card in October 2015 and have been out of the US since then (over 15 months now). We intended on returning to the US at least maintain our residency status but my daughter got very sick (I have medical proof/evidence) and we are stuck here.
Should we are able to travel to the US within the next few weeks would we be allowed to enter the US with our cards? What are my options and how can I justify my absence in order to keep my green card and enter the US?
Best,
Sam
January 12, 2017 at 14:56
I suggest you research your options. I don’t feel qualified to give you expert advice.

January 12, 2017 at 12:28
Hi Simon;
I’m a 2nd draw selectee of DV2017. My wife is already an LPR, living in the US. We got married last april in US (I’m not residing in US) and haven’t submitted our marriage certificate to our embassy afterwards since we both are living abroad. Now, we have to submit it, and my wife’s surname will change due to marriage rules (my surname will be added).
My question; in DS 260, I did submit her full name as it was as of before marriage (since it was the case on her passport). Do I need to update her name now by writing to KCC (which will prolong the processing time) or just carry on with the existing version and submit the changes during the embassy interview.
Key thing here is that her passport along with her green card will have to be renewed according to the new full name.
Thanks.
January 12, 2017 at 14:53
You do not have a DS260 for her – it is simply her name on YOUR form. So you can safely unlock and change that name (which would not cause delay) OR leave it until the interview.
January 12, 2017 at 15:09
Perfect. Yes, it’s on my form. Will take an action depending on the time it takes to renew her passport. Really appreciate the time you take to help all of us.
January 12, 2017 at 13:41
Dear Brit
Unlocking and Adding a new working place on Ds260 causes delay like adding a family member ?
Thanks
January 12, 2017 at 14:50
No
January 12, 2017 at 15:01
Please stop sending me emails…..
January 12, 2017 at 17:07
One more question Brit please:I have recently requested from KCCDV to unlock my DS 260 FORM but till now I received nothing ,is it normale?
January 12, 2017 at 19:09
It can take a few hours to a couple of weeks.
January 12, 2017 at 22:18
Hi Mr.Britsimon,
Gratefully I came to USA CA yesterday with my family, now I really need your support in below sections.
1. Green card: in airport the immigration officer told me to wait for green card they will send us to the given address although I didn’t filled any form and didn’t pay any fees, he stamped the passport and said for one year the stamp consider as green card holder. Is there any formalities to process my green card or I should wait as said by officer.
2. Since I can live for one week in my friend house, how can I find the house? Will they provide us house or we should rent? Better to give the privileges of DV visa.
3. Today is my second day I m now in social security hayward office to process our application, can I process driving license, job and other requirements thru social security number without green card?
thanks and waiting for your support
January 13, 2017 at 00:16
1. You gave them the pack provided by the embassy – right? So that is all theyneed. Your GC will arrive in 3 to 4 months
2. You must make your own arrangements – the DV lottery process does not provide any support.
3. Yes.
January 13, 2017 at 13:46
Thanks for prompt response,
I didn’t pay the fees for green card, will they process without payment? How should I pay the fees
If you could please share New arrival instructions and responsibilities so I can follow and complete the formalities being as new DV immigrant would be highly appreciated.
January 13, 2017 at 14:43
They gave you instructions already. But basically you pay the immigrant fee online – https://www.uscis.gov/file-online/log-online-filing
Responsibilities –
Update USCIS with address changes.
Males 26 and under have to register with selective service.
Pay your taxes and obey the laws.
January 13, 2017 at 02:14

January 13, 2017 at 08:16

January 13, 2017 at 14:55

January 16, 2017 at 04:26
Hi Bro,
I am the winner from Asia. I just submitted DS-260 form last month(Dec:). Would like to know the other process. Kindly share please.
January 16, 2017 at 05:17
There are lots of articles to learn the process. Take some responsibility for your case.
January 13, 2017 at 04:55
Many thanks in advance for all your helps. My wife and I were lottery 2016 winners. Fortunately, we got the visas and we entered US a month ago. Upon arriving US, we went to social security office to apply for our cards. At the time, we found a mistake in our names in their systems (unfortunately the embassy included our fathers’ names in our given names). So, we went to USCIS and they corrected our names and then they put the corrected names in another page of our passports with stamps. They also informed Texas service center about this modification in order to ask them to correct our names in our green cards. Few days ago, I was in USCIS to follow the matter. They told me that the status of green card was pending for payment (165$). I couldn’t figure out this problem because we paid 660$ (for two of us) in our interview. I would appreciate if you could tell me your opinion about this matter. Sorry for long text.
January 13, 2017 at 05:26
The $660 was just for the interview. The $165 fee (per person also needed to be paid for production of the Green Card itself. The embassy gave you instructions about that with the visa package. If you have not now paid, you must pay ASAP. You will find that fee has risen to $220 each, so your delay has cost you more money.
January 14, 2017 at 05:48
Dear Brit,
I really appreciate your help. I paid the fee today. Have a good day and many thanks 🙂
January 13, 2017 at 06:06
Dear simon,
One simple question appear in my mind, and I don’t understand quite well through your blog.
Some countries has big amount of share in their region, such as Nepal in AS region.
Q: Why those countries get a big share of their region?
1) is it simply because of the countries have big number of applicants compared to other countries?
or 2) it is because the countries is poor and US tends to recruit more?
Please enlighten me.
regards,
Soethura
January 13, 2017 at 06:58
Lots of entries = lots of selectees
January 13, 2017 at 09:18
Understand now.
Thank you simon.

January 13, 2017 at 14:58
I don’t really understand everything here, but I suspect this case will be disqualified because it sounds like this person doesn’t understand what “the truth” means.
January 13, 2017 at 09:29
Hi brits! My brother did a trip of 4 months in USA as a maried man earlier in 2007,one year after came back home ,his wife died,he play edv and early 2016 he maried and won edv and he wrote the new wife as a derivative,
Q1)do he need to writethe details of that first woman who died to the previous spouse while the US embassy got his data as a married man for the trip he did in USA in 2007?
Q2)to reopen the ds260 for that problem of put the detail of that woman who died in his ds260 as a previous spouse will delay his 2NL?
January 13, 2017 at 15:02
1. He would not include her on the DS260, but he should take documentation such as the marriage and death certificates
2. Delay doesn’t matter.
January 13, 2017 at 13:06
Hello brit.
I am a dv winner for 2016-2017 group.. i sent my ds260 on 24 september which is last year.. i wanted to ask you when my 2nl will come.. thanks
January 13, 2017 at 14:44
It depends also on your region/case number
January 13, 2017 at 18:39
dear simon,
while filling the DS260 form, I have answered NO to this question “Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance
with U.S. law?” do you think it is a correct answer or not. I do not know whether I have received vaccination according to the US Law since am from Iraq.
January 13, 2017 at 19:35
The correct answer is NO – but even if you had answered yes, it would not have mattered.
January 13, 2017 at 18:47
if you think it is a wrong answer should I unlock and correct it?
January 13, 2017 at 18:50
good afternon ahave a probleme in my name when a inscrire for lottery please help me
January 13, 2017 at 19:34
Did you correct the name in the DS260 – if you did, most embassies would forgive minor name errors. Some embassies are more strict than others.
January 13, 2017 at 22:15

January 14, 2017 at 06:55
Hi brits ! What shoud we answer to this question in the ds260 please “Administration.
Do you want the Social Security Administration to
issue a Social Security number and a card? “
January 14, 2017 at 16:08
There are only two possible answers!!! It is your choice.
January 14, 2017 at 12:22
Hy Mr.brits I got a mail from my cousin in Ukraine about dvlottery that I won a green card, unknown to him this mail has been sent to his mail since December 2015, but he just sent it to me today. And now I cant access it anymore because the page they sent with it, I cant view…please what can I do or should I apply for another again
January 14, 2017 at 16:06
If that is genuine (which is doubtful) then it is already too late. Make sure you only enter the official lottery.

Hello brit.
CN:2017AS15XX
completed DS-260 in 19 SEP 2016 ,
2 days ago I sent messages to KCC
and they gave me this message
(( Your forms have been received and pending further embassy review for the continuation of your visa processing ….. ))
what does (KCC message) mean
is my interview in February..or later
Thank u for your help:-)
January 14, 2017 at 16:15
sorry. . I mean (in March or later)
January 14, 2017 at 16:23
Your DS260 is processed BUT it might have just missed the March batch. In that case it would be April.
January 14, 2017 at 17:06
hello Brit how are you? if i have three people in different states in America who wants to do affidavit of support does it mean that
1. each of them submit the Affidavit separately or they do it together?
2.are they going to submit it to the Emmbercy or they are going to submit to the principal applicant?
3. when will they submit it
January 14, 2017 at 17:45
1. You choose one – a person you know, and has enough income to support their own family and yours.
2. They give it to you, you take it to the interview.
3. Near the interview so that the supporting documents are recent.
January 14, 2017 at 20:38
Hi Brit,
(I post this in the place of my friend).
I passed my interview on January 2 the one I interviewed him told me I little granted you visa because he does not believe that I married for love “knowing that I am married after lottery “, but he asked us to add some documents concerning the sponsor the w2, 1040, … I wanted to know how much time I will wait to have the answer? And also what is the% of having the visa?
Thanks
January 14, 2017 at 22:45
Once you provide the missing documents it normally takes a few weeks. I don’t know the percentage chance.
January 14, 2017 at 21:48
Hi Brit, thanks for your good work. We thank God we got dv2017 as AF35xxx. My wife, principal applicant, was treated and cured of TB two years ago. Can this be grounds of visa denial? What can we do to improve our outcome of visa interview based on this fact? Thanks a lot and remain blessed
January 14, 2017 at 22:38
If it is treated, no problem.
January 14, 2017 at 23:03

January 15, 2017 at 13:41
Hi Simon,
My husband has won the DV-2017. We submitted DS-269 early July and the interview has been schedule to held next February 1st, in London.
We are 4 people in total and I have the following questions.
1- Do we have to provide full docs translated for 4 people, or only for the main applicant? (including tenancy agreements as proof of income, marriage certificate, high school and college diplomas, property deeds/titles, vaccination proof and so on)
2- Can I translate this documents by myself? Because is so expensive translated for example property deeds/titles.
3- They have included our daughter in the 2NL (for the interview) form, but she was aged last January (21 years old) and this January she is going to be 22 years old. Can we be confident on that or we can find some problem during the interview about this issue?
Thanks and Regards,
Samsara
January 15, 2017 at 15:30
1. Translate main (official) documents for all.
2. Not you, but a competent friend can do it. Property deeds by the way are not good proof of income – as it is not liquid assets.
3. She will not get a visa. I would not spend the money on the medical for her if I were you.
3.
January 15, 2017 at 17:02
Hello Brit, my family won the lottery with cn 287×× and we submitted in September but up.to now we haven’t gotten a 2NL yet. Do we need to get worried or when do we expect to receive the email notification? Thank you
January 15, 2017 at 17:08
No need to ask more than once.

I don’t understand your question.
January 15, 2017 at 22:54
Enter your comment here…hello Brit, I am presently in. U. S through lottery three years ago but want to invite my mom, just realized I made a mistake on her dob, I wrote 10-12-1957 instead of 10-12-1956! Is dis a problem since she have interview very soon

YOu are on AP pending the education proof. Once you provide the proof they will make a decision on the case within a few weeks.

Thanks Simon, But my CEAC Status did’t say AP and the Embassy did not give me any paper for that, Can it still be AP?

If they are waiting for documents – that is AP.

Hi Sir,
Me & my wife entered 2017 lottery, but we just found out that she got selected on last day of Oct ’16. So soon we completed & submitted the DS-260 as early as we could. Are we too late submitting them? Cos’ until today, we don;t know the update of our status. Is there anything that we could do?
Also my uncle is a citizen of USA, and a pretty successful businessman. Is there anything that he could do to help us increase the chances? Thank you so much

oh ya btw, we’re Indonesian. And my wife’s case number 2017AS00001xxx. Thank you

So your late submission of the DS260 will have delayed your interview. So patience for a few months.
Your uncle can complete an I-134 for you (financial support).

Hi again Mr. Simon,
thank you for your reply. I really appreciate it.
After my uncle completed the I-134, then we submit them or just bring them during interview later? I have read the instruction, but didn’t mention what should we do after completed the I-134. FYI, me & my wife both currently hold valid US Tourist Visa. We have traveled to USA 4 times since we married. In 2006, 2007, 2012 and last Dec 2016. Thank you for your attention

You take the I-134 to the interview.

Hi Brit, my fiancé is a winner of dv 2017. Our wedding has been programmed 5 days to his interview. (1) Can he still notify kcc on the recent updates? (2) Do I have any chance of benefiting from his dv program?
January 16, 2017 at 16:42
1, No, The embassy.
2, Possibly, but unlikely. Take proof about the relationship. to the interview. Contact the embassy for instructions.

Thanks a lot Brit. As I said earlier, I n my fiancé’s(he is a 2017 dv winner) wedding has been programmed 5 days to his interview. You advised him to contact the embassy n take proof of the relationship. (1) Can this new update of our marriage have a negative effect on his chance of getting a Visa? (2) what if we don’t inform the embassy n decided to follow when he is already in the USA, do I have a chance to benefit from his dv program?
January 16, 2017 at 19:53
1. Yes
2, No.
