For the first time since 2010, USCIS has raised certain fees, some of which will affect DV candidates.
The DV interview fee remains unchanged at $330 (per person).
The immigrant fee (that was $165) is now $220.
Adjustment of status fees have increased.
The fees are explained in more detail – here https://britsimonsays.com/dv-lottery-fees/
The new fees are already effective and published at this link.

Which address should I provide when paying the fee? The US one, or the one from my country?
October 23, 2018 at 14:23
The address where the credit card is registered.

Hi Brit, I have paid for the green card since May before POE, now I have been in the US for 30 days and the status changed in my account with USCIS today to (Payment issue. It’s currently on hold.l because we have not received payment). Is this normal because the amount was deducted from my bank account and I have received an email with the confirmation and receipt number. I have even tried now to check if I’ll be able to make the payment again but its showing already paid.
August 12, 2018 at 00:02
I don’t know. If you are unable to wait – contact USCIS.

Hi, how do I know that i passed or fail the medical test conducted by authorise panel ?
July 22, 2018 at 16:01
If there is a health concern, the doctor would discuss it.

June 10, 2017 at 07:25
Dear Simon,
I paid my uscis fee for 2017-year. I want to ask if I need to enter the US in 120 from the payment of this 220$. Or this rule means I need to get my green card in 120 days after entering the US. USCIS representative told me the second option is true but it is written on my case file that you must enter the US in 120days after payment. Confusing.
June 10, 2017 at 14:24
Just pay the fee shortly before you enter the USA.
June 10, 2017 at 16:27
Thank you for your prompt reply. I already paid 2 months ago, but didn’t have opportunity to enter yet. That’s why I want to make sure if any obligations about entering the USA in a certain time period or not.
June 10, 2017 at 16:32
I haven’t heard of the 120 days before.
May 11, 2017 at 09:52
Hi Brit, am trying to pay the USCIS Immigrant fees online for my family. the site accepted me and my wife but it does not allow me to add my son who is 8 years old. so this $220 is required for adults only or it is required for my little boy as well? keeping in mind i tried many times and reviewed the my inputs as well.
May 11, 2017 at 13:43
Everyone pays, children too
February 17, 2017 at 18:48
When we got our visa stamps on the passport the fee was $165. (In the flyer they provided with the visas, it specifically said “pay that amount”). Now that amount has increased considerably, can we ask USCIS to process the payment with the original amount? (I know, 55 per person is not much but we are a family of four). I guess we have an argument here, because the embassy did not inform us of such increase beforehand, otherwise we would have paid a lot earlier.
February 17, 2017 at 21:10
USCIS gave several months notice of the increase. You have no choice but to pay it.

Hi Mr. Brit
I have a question regarding redoing the finger print.
I entered the United states on the 26 of November to complete my green card application proccess, and stayed their till Jan the 6th.
I recieved a letter from USCIS stating that I need to redo the finger print, and they scheduled an apointment for me on the 23rd of January. Knowing that I won’t be able to make it to this appointment, I was wondering if you could answer the following questions:
1- What are the possible consequenses of missing this appointment ?
2- What are the possible alternatives, do I have to reaply for the green card when I go back to U.S. and repay the fees/is there a fee waiver?
3- what is the most effective way to contact USCIS?
Remaining grateful for your response, Dear, Mr. Simon please accept my best regards
January 17, 2017 at 04:05
I don’t know about that process. Contact USCIS by phone.

Hello Mr. Parker,
I am facing the same situation as you. I have some concerns I believe you can help me out:
1. I’ve done a biometric procedure when I had an interview for the DV Visa and when I first entered the US. What is the purpose of redoing the biometric again?
2. From your experience, when did you finally get to do this biometric? How long did you have to wait until you get your rescheduled date?
I was thinking of rescheduling my biometric appointment. Roughly, do you have any idea when are they going to reschedule my appointment?
3. Finally, is it possible to travel out from the US immediately after completing the biometric appointment or do we have to wait for the green card to be sent to us?
January 16, 2017 at 22:03
My question is,if I ask to reschedule my appointment for biometric finger print to may or July,,, is it possible? I make my first entry to USA in last November.
January 16, 2017 at 05:58
Not i-131….it’s i-797c which I received
January 16, 2017 at 16:55
I dont understand what you are doing then.
January 16, 2017 at 04:53
Hello simon..I am dv 2016 winner,I make my 1st entry to usa last month,I received SSN, i paid Green card fee,and I returned home because I am students. USCIS sent a message and settled appointment to me to do biometric and finger print..etc.my question is there any risk if I am absence in the time?and what’s my option? Thanks a lot .
January 16, 2017 at 05:16
I assume you applied for an I-131 – is that right? If so your application won’t proceed unless you have the biometric.

Hello,
Thanks for your informative blog!! I have paid my GC fee but when I log in It shows ” No data available in table” and “no recent cases found”. Also when I enter the receipt # it indicates “user defined error”. Is all this normal? If not what can I do? Thanks for your help.
January 14, 2017 at 04:22
It’s not worth checking for the first 2 or 3 months.
January 14, 2017 at 04:53

January 6, 2017 at 01:05
Dear Britsimon, i ahve one question. My Grand fathers name has missied one spelling on my passport though at DS260, my birth certificate and School documents are consistent. the spelling missing doesnt change the pronunsation of my grand father name but just inconviniency in my document, do you think it can affect my interview as i am a spouse of a principal applicant? thn
January 6, 2017 at 01:17
It won’t matter.

December 30, 2016 at 20:29
Hi brit,
I would like to share with you something that worried mh alot.
My names on ds260 form and my passports names does march.. but in my primary, high school and even university all three names are there the sir name are okey but the second name comes first… i went to examination born in my country and they told me changing of names can be done but it will take atleast 3month, and if i accept to wait that 3month it compromises with my interviouw….
1. So kindly what should i do?
Should i go for advocate and take afedavit incase the CO demand for it.
Thanks
December 30, 2016 at 21:28
The most important evidence for your IDENTITY is the birth cert and passport. Your DS260 should match that.
If your education document names don’t match that name, you may have to prove that the education documents are your name.
It is normal to list names sometimes as lastname, firstname.
December 30, 2016 at 12:06
I am shocked people are talking about bad luck for 55 $ raise and they just won a us green card !!
December 30, 2016 at 14:58
I know. It’s crazy. $55 isn’t enough to buy a ticket to a football game.
December 30, 2016 at 10:25
Hi Britsimon
i am confusing now
about {$220}….
After paying the $330 for the interview are we ( us applicants ) still gonna pay that $220?
And what is it for?
Which means we ( applicants ) suppose to have $550 at the interview day right?
December 30, 2016 at 13:20
It s for your green card you will pay it in the USA at the immigration office
December 30, 2016 at 15:08
This is all explained in my link about fees above. You pay the $330 on the day of the interview. If approved, you pay the $220 around the time you move to the USA. It is paid online, and covers the cost of your Green Card itself.
December 29, 2016 at 23:33
Thank you Mr BritSimon for your help.according to my previous question about typing error of the middle name,he indicated his middle name when submitting his DS260.so he shouldn’t worry so much like looking for an affidavit as an evidence?thanx.
December 30, 2016 at 00:39
No. The DS260 is an “affidavit” in that you sign it with the CO.
December 29, 2016 at 22:54
I Am curious about something sir, from November to now the cut of number for North America and Bahamas has shown 6 in the visa bulletin. Will that change ? My number ends in just a few up from that. Will that change or when can I expect 2nl. I submitted middle of September .
December 29, 2016 at 23:09
It will change, yes.
Your delayed submission will cause a delay for at least another month or two.
December 29, 2016 at 21:42
Hi britSimon,
Have a question my brother made a typing error of his names on the first news letter. instead of writing his middle name in a middle name box, he wrote his last name.so his middle name is not appearing in his applications bt its appearing in his documents like passport, birtcertificate etc.is it gonna affect him during his interview or what does he needs to prove that he’s the same person?his interview is in feb.thanx
December 29, 2016 at 22:12
The DS260 must be submitted with accurate names. If that is done that is all you can do, and usually the CO will accept that (except in countries where fraud levels are ver high such as Ghana).
December 29, 2016 at 19:32
means if I issued visa after interview I will pay 220 per person?
December 29, 2016 at 21:33
Yes.
December 29, 2016 at 14:13
