Hi Brit!
Still for your precious collaboration how helpful!
I’m a winner dv 2018! I will be curent next month!
So !
I played celibcéliba and I submitted my DS 260 with this celibcéliba status.
Currently I have my fiancée who expects from me a child probably for the end of July.
1-If the child was born before my interview in August what to do? Because I want to travel alone and after family reunification.
Thank you for your eclairs!
Diei bless you!
May 19, 2018 at 14:53
You just process DV single. Later you can sponsor the wife and child.
May 19, 2018 at 07:14
Haloo
The last Af number in the july 2nl is 37996 and the number before it is 37729.. so does it mean the numbers in between will not receive their 2nl or what does that mean?
Thanks
May 19, 2018 at 14:56
It doesn’t mean anything like that. More 2NLs will be sent this month.
May 19, 2018 at 07:41
Hi
How to put in ds260 seasonal job 5 months a year for same company from 2015-2018 ?
May 19, 2018 at 15:02
Several entries or one – up to you.
May 19, 2018 at 08:10
Dear Brit,
Thank you for your value Time. I need your opinion, what is the best approach.
1) should I transfer my case
2) I appear in the interview and request the consular to schedule a separate interview for my family members in “Islamabad”. Is that possible.
3) continue with my case and recall my family members when I get to USA.
4) option 1 will have massif delay may be next year will that effect the “quota 50 thousand” and I will be out of the game.
Thanx in advance.
May 19, 2018 at 10:03
You CANNOT choose where you get the interview. It’s based on your country of residency so you’re scheduled for an interview at the embassy in the country where you live. As for your family, they’re either present with you at the interview and if the interview is successful, you all get your visas issued at once OR you attend alone, get your own visa if you get approved then in the future, you will have to sponsor them to come join you which is a much more longer and costly process so pick wisely
May 20, 2018 at 02:53
??? Dude IM indonesian but i CAn choose my interview in Guangzhou, They ask you about where the interview will be..
May 20, 2018 at 05:39
… and then they schedule it based on your address.
May 19, 2018 at 15:04
You didn’t click reply – so I don’t have the context. If you want answers make sure your questions make sense.
May 19, 2018 at 08:38
@ sam, no, there will be arround 5000 new chaptas in the next 24h. We have some work to do 🙂
May 20, 2018 at 05:31
Done again 🙂 Are there any new captchas? How did you know what is the system?
May 20, 2018 at 07:19
@ Sam, when you do the last chapter and it is written ALL DONE, you will find under the buttons submit and log out in a light blue field the information about new number of chaptas and in how many hours they will appear (instead of Thank you for helping to extract DV2018 data!). Now, we have 216 new one, I will do them, because I dont know in which time zone you are living…
May 21, 2018 at 04:05
@Dana, Ok got you. I’ll do my best to help you guys.
Btw I’m AS, guess you’re EU. Good luck for both of us!

Dear Simon,
I am Iranian and as you know Iranians are in travel ban, what we can do in this way. Actually we are so upset. we are average people what we can do to improve condition?
May 19, 2018 at 15:06
Unless you have a dual citizenship there is nothing you can do while the travel ban is in force.
May 19, 2018 at 09:52
HEY TNX FR UR SUPPORT
my Q is
1 is it possible to tell the chance of winning the selection for the interview by seeing the case number
2 when did u think is the best time to submit the ds260 form?
May 19, 2018 at 10:02
The lower the case number, the higher the chances of being scheduled for an interview. The success of the interview will ssolely depend on the veracity of the information you provided, the completion of the medical exams, the collection of all required documents and the ability to produce every document required to present based on the specific embassy you’ll be affiliated to. If you’re DV2019, it’s still way too early to predict anything. Interviews don’t start before October and the first VB won’t be published before August so like Simon would say “WAIT AND SEE”.
May 19, 2018 at 10:08
hello Brit, please I have problem, my name is Joyce Inemesit Ekanem, instead of Inemesit, they wrote Lnemesit, can I correct it when filling my ds 260?
May 19, 2018 at 13:18
Hi I have a same problem
Letter mistake
I have won but am very worried
But Mr simon told me that you can correct it in ds 260
May 19, 2018 at 14:07
OK tanks
May 19, 2018 at 15:12
Yes.
May 19, 2018 at 15:11
1. Your chance of interview depends on how low or high your case number is – and we don’t know the ranges yet. So wait.
2. When you understand what you are doing.
May 19, 2018 at 09:53
You CANNOT choose where you get the interview. It’s based on your county of residency so you’re scheduled for an interview at the embassy in the country where you live. Good day Brit, looking at July 2NL chart most CN status have change to In transit. My CN is AF 30xxx is not on the chart. When I check the status on ceac it still shows AT NVC. I really need your opinion about this cos am becoming nervous after a long wait.
2. Are u sure my number will receive 2NL for July?
3. Should I write to KCC?
Thanks
May 19, 2018 at 15:21
2. No
3. No
Be patient.
May 19, 2018 at 19:18
Thanks Brit, but why will I not receive 2NL for July when CN above mine are already on transit. Please I need your honest opinion on this. Thanks
May 19, 2018 at 20:36
Patience.
May 19, 2018 at 13:17
HI BRIT, THANKS FOR YOUR GOOD WORKS REGARDING THIS DIVERSITY VISA PROCESS, IT’S REALLY HELP TO US. NOW MY CONCERN, I WILL LIKE FOR YOU TO GIVE ME THE TOTAL DIVERSITY VISA 2019 RESULTS STATISTICS.

Sure. Let me get that right away for you. It hadn’t crossed my mind.
May 19, 2018 at 14:27
That is a first batch. And you did notice that most of them are “in transit”. Better to wait for the final doc. Where are you going to be interviewed? As you may natice also, for AF on that file there are only Yaounde, Abidjan and JHN embassies other cases are in transit hope your too.

I means that my case # is close and i think that i will be call for interview very soon. Is it possible that i marry a girl if my case # is AF00000489?
Another thing, is it possible that the shorter the case # the sooner you will be called for interview?
May 20, 2018 at 08:25
1. If you hurry up – yes – but make sure it is not a marriage just for the Green Card.
2. Lower numbers interview earlier.
May 19, 2018 at 18:18

I have been going through your website for nearly an hour now – it is great! – so hope this question and request for advice does not embarrass me. I can’t work out wether my case number is a high or low one…?
I have completed and sent off my DS260 application for dv 2019. I fall in the Africa region.
My case number is AF22XXX
Thanks!
May 20, 2018 at 08:26

May 19, 2018 at 20:33
No – they don’t.
May 19, 2018 at 20:35
There is plenty of time. Your interview will be scheduled according to the case number – so it could be a long wait.
Read the guide above.
May 19, 2018 at 19:25
Hi Mr Simon
I have won green card lottery a couple of days ago
My case number is 5134
When i can be called for interview inyour opinon??
May 19, 2018 at 20:34
I don’t know because you haven’t told me the region – so quote your number like 2019AF5XXX
May 19, 2018 at 19:46
Hi Simon,
You helped me a lot by your yesterday’s answers, and I am very grateful for that! Nevertheless, I was reading about the whole process again today, and I realized that I actually need your support in three more things:
1. Education. I’ve found it’s not a “Bachelor’s”, “Master’s”, etc., it’s “University education”, “College education”, etc. And here’s the thing I’m not sure about: in the U.S. colleges give you bachelor’s, universities – master’s, but in my country colleges provide vocational, and everything since bachelor’s is provided by the university. In my diploma it’s stated I’ve finished a university, but in this form if I select “University”, they expect me to have master’s, but I have only bachelor’s. So which one should I select, if I finished a state university of my country, but I am a bachelor, not master?
2. They also have a field where you provide a type of document (like “degree, diploma or certificate”). Actually, I have a document named “Diploma”, but inside it’s stated that this document confirms I’ve got a Degree. So, is it diploma, or degree?
3. I’m not sure that we will be able to collect more than $10-15k before the interview, and for us two we need to collect 20, as far as I know. Because of that, I’m planning to contact my friend in the U.S. to help me by providing his I-134. So, in the end I plan to have I-134, and the account statement with around $10k. Should I give them both immediately at the interview, or should I give them only the statement first, and only if they say it’s not enough, provide them I-134?
Thank you very much in advance!
May 19, 2018 at 20:32
1. University
2. Degree
3. Take both to the interview.
May 19, 2018 at 20:52
Hi Simon,
Perfect, thanks! You are awesome!
And just last tiny thing: probably, it’s a stupid question, but DS-260 has a question “Have you ever donated to charity organisations?”, and if I several times sent an sms or made a bank transfer to donate 5-10 euros (no huge amounts) for some charity organisations, and now I even don’t remember their names, can I just select “NO” here? It’s all about these advertisements on the streets, like “help kids”, and couple donations to Wikipedia.
Thanks you so much!
May 20, 2018 at 08:28
No need to mention such donations.
May 19, 2018 at 20:40
@Henry macharia . False! No need to fill in now as there is plenty of time ahead. Also false: 2019 FY starts on October 1st 2018 and terminates on September 30th 2019 so the first interviews for DV2019 won’t start before October 1st.
May 19, 2018 at 20:44

Hi Brit,
My cousin from Albania has a big CN EU37900 or smth, and she is very concerned if she would have any chance for an interview.
Do you have any opinion, does she have any chance?
Thank you
God bless
May 20, 2018 at 08:29
DV2018 – risky. Wait and see.
May 19, 2018 at 21:16
HI – I have a University degree – 3 year Bachelor of Arts. In addition I completed a Higher Diploma in Education. Having completed the ds260 already for DIV2019 I realized in the question ” Highest Level of Education Completed ” I mistakenly chose Advanced Degree in the drop down menu of choices. Should I have chosen Degree only ? And if so is this a serious mistake or will it be ok in the interview ?
May 20, 2018 at 08:30
Not a serious mistake.
May 19, 2018 at 21:26
Hello Brit,
I have completed high school in two institutions. So I started and attended 2 years in one high school and then changed city (together with my family) so changed also institution (transferring the entire documentation) and completed the other 2 years in another high school (4 years in total). I received only one certificate at the end for high school completion (with 4 years results in it). Then I went to the University and completed it.
To the question “number of education institutions attended” I put 3 (2 high schools + 1 University), right?
Also, what should I put in the “Degree, Diploma or Certificate received” for the first high school? I didn’t receive anything there as I transfered in another high school and the results of the first high school were included in the final certificate I received.
Thank you.
May 20, 2018 at 08:31
1. 3 is correct.
2. General education.
June 2, 2018 at 21:44
Thank you Brit.
My concern here is that if I put 2 years “without” any diploma or certificate for the first institute, it could create any misunderstanding, as they may think that I didn’t complete the first two years, while I have absolutely successfully completed those and continued the next two years in another high school. The academic program for both high schools I followed is absolutely the same, so it is like having followed one high school institution in terms of academic program.
What do you think?
Thank you.
June 2, 2018 at 21:48
Just to clarify, there was no abnormal time gap between the two institutions. It was exactly like following the same institution.
May 19, 2018 at 21:51
Greetings Mr Brit and to all.
Please I wish to know
1) if the 2NLs are sent rampant or orderly follow the case numbers.

May 20, 2018 at 08:37

Make your question clear.
May 19, 2018 at 23:13
Hi Brit,
I won DV2019 lottery and will soon fill the further application form for the visa. Currently, I hold a 1 year non-immigrant tourist visa to the USA, which I’ve got this February for my travel made for tourism purposes. So, my US non-immigrant visa will expire in Feb 2019, a time that may coincide with my interview or the DV visa decision. I know, logically they should not have any interrelationship, but may I know whether my current visa status can have a negative impact in DV visa decision making, creating doubts etc.?

May 20, 2018 at 05:46
No problem.
May 20, 2018 at 20:57
Hi Brit,
Thanks a lot for your reply, much appreciated. I have 2 more questions, would be grateful to hear your reply: 1) In the application form, as both mailing and permanent addresses I will include that of my relatives in the USA, the address which will also be used by his another relative who also won the lottery. May this case (having one address used by two different applicants) create a problem?; 2) Can mortgage loan that I took in my home country create a problem, in visa decision?
Regards,
Maleyka

Your case is complex, and you have little time. If your wife is using a lawyer, she should speak to the lawyer.

Hi dear Mr. Simon. We were under AP since mid April, couple days ago our status changed ready and Council requested our pasports to send. Does it means our visa will be issued?
Many thanks in advance for answer
May 20, 2018 at 08:49
It’s a good sign. Celebrate when you have the visas in your hand.
May 20, 2018 at 08:46
Hi Mr Simon
Please could you tell me when i can be called for interview??
2019EU00005XXX
I am from Azerbaijan
May 20, 2018 at 08:50
In the first 2 or 3 months.
May 20, 2018 at 09:05
Hi Brit!
We just found it (may17 2018) that we are selected for further processing. I am in the process to get a passport from my second nationality. In the DS they ask us to put all our nationalities. I will receive my passport for my second nationality on 25 may so fee days from now. My question is:
Do we wait for me to get my passport to fill in the DS form and send it? Since I have two nationalities I want to make sure they get both passport numbers. It is really only a week more since we found out. Or should we send the DS asap and then corrected?
Thanks in advance
May 20, 2018 at 09:40
There is plenty of time, no need to rush.
May 20, 2018 at 10:04
My daugther has a German and Russian passport. The Russian expired several years ago. Do I have to get her a new one before I submit de DS form or can I just use the old number ? Does she have to show both passports at the interview?
May 20, 2018 at 09:20
Hi I’m a winner of the DV-2019 and I would like to know when I replaced the DS-260 I did not put the date of birth of my parents since I did not know the exact dates it will not cause a problem?
May 20, 2018 at 09:41
No problem.
May 20, 2018 at 09:29
Dear Brit,
From your statistics since 1995 there was 3 cases under 30k in EU region, in 2000, 2004, 2005.
Do you know why they had such small numbers and what do think about 2018, is current situation is similar whith those years? Could you give as your forcast for the next bullitin in percentage?
May 20, 2018 at 09:44
Old years like that had very different circumstances. There is no relevance to this year.
As for the next 2 VBs – wait and see.
