How match for 4 family members. And one more I hope my interview will be July. When my parents need fill affidavit of support for me and send? If they are do now is earlier or normal.
May 1, 2019 at 20:05
When we get CEAC data in the next few days, will you do some analysis of what could happen in the next VB or can one of the regions become current by the end of the fiscal year?
May 1, 2019 at 22:04
Regions being current is now pretty clear. That isn’t the point. The question is more about whether people will be scheduled based on the new document procedure.

Brit !! Can I talk to you privately ??? I spoke here I’m afraid it will cause confusion .. Can you give me your email ??
May 2, 2019 at 02:23
I’m amazed you don’t know the email address already. It’s kind of an illustration of my point.

Hi Simon.I had interview on the 23the of April and my case had a newborn baby added.the consulate officer sent us to get passport for the baby, medical and to fill ds 260 for the baby and bring more photos of bonafile relationship between baby and I and with my wife.I had all these and deposited on the 25th at their security post and a note was given to me that they are the ones to call once my case is reviewed.since then am still waiting for the call.Is my getting a visa threatened, pls for advice
May 1, 2019 at 23:32
I don’t know what will happen in your particular case. You had asked me about the child and I had told you how to add the child and fill out the DS260. If you had listened to my advice and acted on it, you could have avoided this delay.
May 2, 2019 at 00:00
Mr Simon I wrote the embassy and the kcc on that.kcc asked me to print their reply and take along to the embassy .it was at the embassy that they unlock my case and asked me to do the rest of the filling. The embassy itself had written me on that ,that I should come with necessary fees for us all and that they were going to update my file.I sincerely took your advice
May 2, 2019 at 02:26
Well i believe you said your child was born in November so it is a great pity to have caused a delay after all that time. Anyway, now you have to wait.
May 2, 2019 at 06:28
Hi sir, can KCC unlock ds 260 form when the number is current but not yet scheduled? Thanks
May 2, 2019 at 13:03
At some point, no. They identify which cases will be scheduled earlier in the month than they schedule the cases, so during that period you won’t be scheduled yet, but they won’t unlock.
May 3, 2019 at 04:21
Thank you sir.
My CN is AF45*** am still to resummit my ds260 cos I want to change my interview location and I’ll be traveling to the new location in couple of days. I have my documents ready but haven’t summited yet since the DS 260 is open, can I send the documents then resummit the DS 260 in couple of days after I change the location or should I wait and do both at once!!!
May 3, 2019 at 04:38
Whatever you want.
May 2, 2019 at 09:24
Dear Simon,
I read your post of affidavit requirement and I have a question on the statement “If there is a good relationship (family, or close friend) the Consular Officer is allowed to use their discretion to take that as evidence that the selectee will not become a public charge”.
1. Our host is my cousin. Do we still need( just in case) our host to fill out the form for us?
Thank you for your time in advance
May 2, 2019 at 13:11
1. Why not do that to be safe?
May 3, 2019 at 07:32
Right I will Thank you!
And some worry is that my sponsor (my cousin) is willing to let us be with him till we are self-reliant. But we are a family of 4(one is just 9-month baby) and my sponsor is also a family of 4- in total 8 people.
1. Is he still can be our sponsor as far as he fills out the I-134 form with the justification of income amount for all of us?
2. is the form filled per individual for all 4 of us? or a single form is enough?
Thank you for your time!
May 3, 2019 at 13:49
1. If he earns enough, yes.
2. One form, total.

Hi, I sent my documents to KCC on last March 26 and I sent it twice (1. First forgot to put 000 between the middle ) and (2. Second with the right case number).
I do get AUTO reply both of email I sent. but now I haven’t got any email from KCC that received my documents yet.
Is it everybody will get the email back from KCC which it’s not just AUTO reply to confirm they got the documents?
What should I do? Should email to them or just wait ?
Oh also my CN is AS106XX and I think it will current next.
Thank you
May 2, 2019 at 13:22
Contact them or wait. Your choice.
May 2, 2019 at 14:45
And Is it everybody will get the email back from KCC which it’s not just AUTO reply to confirm they got the documents?
May 2, 2019 at 15:53
I don’t know for sure.
May 2, 2019 at 16:02
Wait, is it mandatory to write the 000 in the case number while sending documents to KCC?
May 2, 2019 at 17:31
It is wise to do that as that is the accurate case number.
May 2, 2019 at 12:56
Hello Brit may i ask you about DV2019 Raw CEAC Data for 01 Mai it will be available or no ?
May 2, 2019 at 13:32
Once the scraping is finished.
May 2, 2019 at 13:36
Hello,
I and my family took the interview on March 21, the consular officer told us that our visas were approved but it was necessary that I , the principal applicant, renewed my passport. We sent our passports via DHL on March 26 and have been in Administrative Processing since then. Do you think this delay is normal, have you encountered any case like this.
Thank you in advance
May 2, 2019 at 13:47
Cases are delayed on AP sometimes, yours could be such a case. AP times vary greatly from a few days to several months. There is no way to predict how long your AP will last.
May 2, 2019 at 13:54
Does there exist any legal or “normal” timeframe an US embassy can hold an applicant’s passport?
May 2, 2019 at 15:50
No. The process is not an obligation on them, the GC is not a right, it’s a privilege. You are “asking” for them to consider your application. You can withdraw that application and get your passport back whenever you want. You can also ask for your passport back and continue the process, BUT then there would be an additional delay once they were ready to approve you since they won’t request a re-allocation of a visa for you until they have completed your case AND have your passport.
May 2, 2019 at 15:40
hello Simon
me and my spouse passed out interview one month ago and our case in ap Due to our country problem and in interview My spouse said I am beauty and in 260 form she is unemployment can it be problem. even though she is beauty but in form I did not say.
May 2, 2019 at 15:55
I doubt that would be a problem.
May 2, 2019 at 16:27
Hi there,
Thank God I found this blog which prodives a lot of useful informations and Glod bless the creator of this blog.
My CN is 2019AF39***, I sent my documents to KCC few days after the VB for June being released, I really didn’t except such a huge jump in the VB numbers. I think my CN will be current in July.
My question is how many days should we give to the KCC before asking them if they are satisified with the documents. I didn’t receive any email from them so far (except the automatic reply).
Also on the ceac website, the status of my application is still “at NVC”. Is it normal? I submitted my DS260 back in June 2018.
Thanks
May 2, 2019 at 17:37
All normal. Wait at least a week before asking about your documents.
May 2, 2019 at 18:23
Hello!! Is that really what I’m saying? Many people have Re-opened ds 260 for various reasons. After, they have submit ds 260 .After a few minutes comes a “” request for sending documents “” …. Is this really true ??? I can try??
May 2, 2019 at 18:49
No it’s not true. I’m not sure where you got that idea.
May 2, 2019 at 19:02
Ok..sorry
May 2, 2019 at 20:35
Dear Brit, thank you for everything
I received my VISA.
Am I able to start working as soon as I arrive in the United States? Do I need a proof that I can work?
Very best!!!
May 2, 2019 at 20:37
You can start work immediately, although employers will expect your SSN, which will take 2 or 3 weeks to arrive.
May 3, 2019 at 11:46
When I arrive in the Sates will they give me a form I-551.(alien registration receipt card)?
I already have a SSN that is old and it says ‘Valid for Work Only with DHS authorization’
Would that work? or do I need a new one?
How do I get a new card 🙁 I think I checked NO on the form when it says do you want a new SSN.
May 3, 2019 at 11:49
will I get a temporary I-551 stamp on my foreign passport?
Or temporary I-551 printed notation on my VISA?
thank you Brit!
May 3, 2019 at 13:55
That is the visa you get from the embassy.
You go to the SSA office after a few days of arrival (1 week) and get a new card with the same number.
May 2, 2019 at 22:28
Hi Brit,
Just found this website about week ago and I find it very useful, so thanks for that!
One of the things that I found was that I will need a copy of my Immunization records.
My case is a bit specific because I`ve been born in Poland, but I live 9 years in England now so obtaining some documents can take several weeks. I just requested my immunization records and I am sending them to translate tomorrow. Up to last week I have been concerned that I have all the documents from a long time but thanks to your website I discovered that I am wrong!
So now I have:
All the legal documents (Birth certificate, school qualifications, police records (both PL and UK)
Immunization records
I have neved been married or divorced or been in military so do not need that.
Do you think I am missing something else from the deep past especially from Poland?
After checking 3 times again the visa and your website I believe this is it but I decided to ask you just in case.
My case number is EU25xxx so I should have interview in June but I did not get my 2NL yet, hovewer I did upload my supporting documents last week to KCC so I will check with them next week if they are ok with them.
And one more thing what with the address in US for the green card?
I do not know where I will go yet after getting the visa I have a friend in Chicago that could possibly help with some accomodation so should I ask him? If not can I just not give an address in US for now or at the interview?
I couldn’t skip the address question on the DS260 so I`ve put the address from Polish embassy in New York there but I will need to change that.
Thanks for your help,
Lukasz
May 3, 2019 at 00:37
With multiple questions please number them and organize them to make them easier to answer.
1. I don’t know what you might need for Poland. You just need to digest the instructions. However, you have not mentioned financials/I-134, so you need to do something about that.
2. Yes you need a residential address, and should do that for the interview.
May 3, 2019 at 01:08
Sorry for the mess in my post I have just noticed it is a bit messy.
1. The requirements are the same as for any other country but the immunization records requirement did shocked me a bit, I did not have an idea that I will need such as information.
About the financials I have more than the required $10,000 as a single applicant in savings, but will try to get a I-134 from the mentioned friend from Chicago, above that I am already registered with a recruitment company from US that will send me potential job(s) offers matching my experience before the interview.
2. I need to work on the residental address a bit as I am unsure if my friend can accomodate me, but I will find a way to sort it out.
Thanks for your help
May 8, 2019 at 13:01
Hello again Simon,
I have 2 more questions about the I-134 form.
1. Can the I-134 be supplied for me by a person that have been sponsored by himself?
My friend have been sponsored my his parents last year and he is in US now and working so I believe they used the I-864 form if I am correct? So can he now do the I-134 for me? He is working and have a $70k job.
2. If he will do it for me should he print the I-134 form fill it, and send it by post or a scan will be enough?
Thank you for your time and help again.
Lukasz
May 8, 2019 at 19:20
1. Yes. But for DV you must only use the I-134.
2. Scan is OK.
May 3, 2019 at 05:44

May 3, 2019 at 07:22

May 3, 2019 at 13:47

May 3, 2019 at 06:31
Good day once again Mr. Brit,
Thanks a million for your guidance and instructions. We have been scheduled for interview in first week of June. However my police report/certificate will expire in the same month of my interview specifically the 27th June, 3 weeks after the interview.
Please would it be best to apply for a new police certificate if I decide to spend a month in my home country after the interview before my departure??
Thanks
May 3, 2019 at 09:49
YES JUST APPLY FOR THE POLICE CERTIFICATE
May 3, 2019 at 13:42
There is no harm in being over prepared.
May 3, 2019 at 06:47

May 4, 2019 at 14:32
Hi brit.
I recently went for the interview at the American embassy in Accra as a couple and was refused with a ban on applying for visas.
I was given a letter indicating misrepresentation of material facts and relationship.
I want to make an appeal. Is it a good move to make and and how do I go about it
May 4, 2019 at 14:48
You would be appealing to people who believe you attempted immigration fraud. That is not likely to succeed, and there is no formal appeal process nor is there an obligation on them to give you any right of appeal or ever allow you to apply for a visa. Their stance shows they were certain you had lied, and I see you aren’t denying it.
May 4, 2019 at 15:56
We are legally married and presented all supporting documents. We feel we have been unjustiably denied.
And want to know how we can make an appeal if it’s possible
May 4, 2019 at 15:59
A totally legal marriage that is performed for the sole purpose of obtaining an additional Green Card is immigration fraud.
May 4, 2019 at 09:03
Dear Simon,
I liked your blog very much, thank you for doing such a website with lots of information.
May 4, 2019 at 09:45
Brit,
I have registered my Visa interview appointment online with the embassy scheduled for June. There is a section that requires passport number, my question is;
1. Should I put the old passport number? this is the passport number that is captured in my DS260 that is currently with the embassy.
2. or should I put new passport number which I acquired recently since the old passport will expire in November 2019 and also due to government directive to upgrade to digital passports.
I did not unlock ds 260 to update passport details since I got new passport after submitting documents to kcc.

Hi britt
My interview was on may2 and it went nice and said it is approved.
In ceac it was showing AP but now it is sayiing my no. is not correct. Its the same confirm no.
Is this the sign of anything?
Suddenly the same no. 2019as0000… does not work.
May 4, 2019 at 15:23
It’s a sign you are doing it wrong. For the status check you remove the leading zeros.
May 4, 2019 at 15:07
Hi britt
I forgot to mention that ive changed my sponser in my interview. Ive corrected in ds260. Is that gonna be issue ?
May 4, 2019 at 15:26
No
May 4, 2019 at 17:12
Hi everyone
My interview was on 2nd may. Thanks to brit simon for providing us information which has been very helpful and mostly for keeping us patience by answering our most common sense foolish questions.
From what i saw in the interview was if u are young then it helps suprisingly. Not lots of questions asked. But if u are not and if u seems to be like u could effect the life of sponser. i mean seems to be dependent then they really ask you questions. They care about their citizens more than they care about you.So In that time if u did became nervous and your english is also not good then u might get to ask to change the sponser.
So answer with little confident cause i know everyone gets nervous even me so gather some courage to help u talk. My tips is talk with other people around u in the interview place. Believe me it helps.
And also try to get all of your sponser’s document. It effects a lot. Some people were bringing like 5-6 sheets of their sponser’s documents dont know what they brought and they were asked to change sponser.
If your sponser’s income is dobtable then u should be more confident in interview and prepare the answer for your plan in US and what u do for living. This must help.
Embassy was nice. Felt like i was already in US. Grass were more greener.
And dont be those people who forget to bring photocopy of whatever and be like running in the last moment.
.
Good Luck Guys
May 6, 2019 at 22:37
Thank you for your advice sagun .. I just want to ask you a question and hope you to answer it .. What is the duration that the co told you that you will receive your passport within ?
May 7, 2019 at 07:15
@sagun thank you
May 5, 2019 at 06:12
Hi Britt, My wife and I were denied the visa on the basis of her not meeting the academic requirements, Do we face any potential ban from US especially me since I wasn’t the principal applicant. And again, for how long would I have to wait for me to apply for any visa to the US
May 5, 2019 at 14:20
No ban, no wait.
May 5, 2019 at 06:51
Hello Brit,
My case number is 2019AF13xxx. I submitted my DS-260 several months ago and i still haven’t been booked for an interview . Please I will like to know around what case number for AF they are at now or how I can check. Secondly I will like to know if i have to do any other thing. Thanks
May 5, 2019 at 14:21
It sounds like you have not submitted your documents. In order to get an interview you must do so.
https://britsimonsays.com/new-document-submission-procedure-update/
May 5, 2019 at 14:51
Hello Brit,
in DV entry form i wrote my first name : moaz , last name : mohamed
but my full name on my passport is Moaz Mohamed Daoud Sheikh Idris.
is this considered as big mistake or the CO will definitely refuse my application.
Arabic name have no first or last name. its just moaz my name then Mohamed is my dad’s name then daoud is my grandfather’s name and keeps going like that.
i was born in Egypt but my nationality is Sudanese. do you think its considered a as a big mistake or the CO in Egypt or in Sudan will consider my case.
everything else in my application is correct. i even have degree of electrical power engineering from Malaysia and enough money to support myself.
May 5, 2019 at 15:02
It’s usually OK as long as you correctly complete the DS260
May 5, 2019 at 16:18
Hi Brit,
A friend of mine submitted ds260 and chose no education, although she has a college degree.
Now she received the 2nl and her interview is on June, is it going to be a problem if she brings her high school diploma and college degree at the interview?
How the CO might react to that situation?
May 5, 2019 at 16:22
He might wonder why a person with a degree can’t follow instructions to fill out a simple form – but other than that it is not an automatic denial.
May 5, 2019 at 16:55
Hey Brit,
Thanks for all your time and the hardwork you put into these threads. I read most of it, but this is my first time asking a question.
Just wanted to know, do I have to present my highschool diploma (which I seem to have lost) at the interview even though I have two Masters degrees, for which I’ll be bringing proof of?
Thanks in advance
Regards,
FR
May 5, 2019 at 17:05
Possibly, yes. Some COs are picky about that.
May 5, 2019 at 17:37
Hi Sir, finally our interview will be in Santiago on May 10, we change the interview from Venezuela to Santiago because the embassy in Venezuela closed, now I would like to know if at the time of the interview we can change the arrival address since we have plans to change Miami for Orlando that Does it affect something
May 5, 2019 at 19:09
You can change the address at the interview.
May 5, 2019 at 19:16
@jabez
Why did u use da same email for everyone …its common sense dat u could hve jst told them to create an email…its cannot b problem cz da notification for the interview is sent to da email u provided as well as if the documents procedure still continues u will hve to sent documents ….I am not sure bout this bt u cn ask brit…if any of them win then u cn ask kcc to change da email address….
May 5, 2019 at 20:47
Sir, I apologize for this type of consultation, I have been denied twice the tourist visa, can it affect that at the time of the diversity visa interview?
May 5, 2019 at 21:16
Probably not. It depends WHY you were denied. Most tourist visas are denied because the person fails to show they intend to return home. That is obviously not a concern for the GC.
May 6, 2019 at 07:39
If i was to wi the green card lottery do i need to make any payments before the interview when filing ds260? and is that the only form i submit to hear back about the interview or do i need to file I-864?
May 6, 2019 at 13:53
If yiou win there is plenty of time for questions and to understand the process.
May 6, 2019 at 09:33
Hi Brother Simon!
Thank you very much for this platform. I am among 2019 selectee `my Number is 2019AF39XXX, completed DS -260 form on June 2018, pressed the button of email confiramtion 5th May 2019.
Concerning (DS-260) at the end there is a blue note “Email Confirmation” I found out that I did not click that button after completed my application.
QN (1) Do you think that once DS-260 “COMPLETED” is automatically received by KCC ?
QN 2. Do you think without pressing Email confirmation the DS 260 was not recieved on time that might delay the review of the form and delayn my interview schedule ?
I am concerned with this because I did not receive any email to requesting me to attach the required documents as it is instructed…
May 6, 2019 at 13:55
1. Yes
2. No
May 6, 2019 at 10:14

May 6, 2019 at 11:05
Sir. I am from Nepal. My Interview Is in June 26. We are a family of 4. My sponsor doesnt have enough income according to federal poverty guidelines to support us. But we can show bank balance prior to the interview to support the family of 4 about 30000$. Now sir Is it compulsory to show affidavit of support or bank balance is ok?
We dont have any other sponsor whose income is enough to support us. Is affidavit of support necessary in visa Issuance for the case of nepal. Please Clarify me sir.
May 6, 2019 at 14:03
The savings might satisfy the CO. Please don’t ask this again. You have asked this support question multiple times and I am SURE I have told you to read the FAQ where this question is answered.
May 6, 2019 at 13:01
I’ve to send the email with the documents (new procedure) because this month my CS will be current. Since I’ve lived in Netherlands I’ve to request the police certificate (it’s called VOG – https://www.justis.nl/binaries/Aanvraagformulier%20VOG%20NP%20(Engels)%20Januari%202017_tcm34-84796.pdf ) but I need help. I can fill in only the first part because the second part has to ‘To be completed by the organisation/body requiring the Certificate’.
Can you guys help me? Who has experience with this?
Thank you.
May 6, 2019 at 14:09
Use your best judgement.
May 6, 2019 at 14:35
I actually have been helped buy this dutch forum if anyone is interested -> https://forum.allesamerika.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=74215&p=1205240#p1205240

May 6, 2019 at 13:46
I have a US visa, but I left out a previous marriage and kids. (Over 21) I entered the dv lottery and my education certificate has my first marriage name. I am not sure how to fill out the ds260 form. Should I now include this info or try with work experience which I have?
May 6, 2019 at 14:35
Be truthful. It’s not hard if you try.
May 6, 2019 at 15:34
Hi,
Thanks for your response but in your experience would they check my details on file, what can I offer as an explanation , would this not be a disqualification and my visitor Visa could be revoked.
May 6, 2019 at 15:43
My answer is always to tell the truth. When you tell lies you create problems. I have no advice on how to clear up the mess once you have created your problems through lies. The only advice I can offer is to tell the truth from now on.
May 6, 2019 at 14:56
Hi Brit
First of all thank you very much for your incredible job. I have been following your blog for about a year.
I have a question.. my interview was on 18 April and the interview was good but at the conclusion the co asked me to resubmit my birth certificate. I did according to the instructions. My case was in AP till 1 may and finally on 2 may the status changed to issued. But still my passports are not delivered for pick up. So I am a bit worried. Is this normal??
Thank you for your response…

Thanks Simon, I appreciate the feedback. I know better this was a lapse in judgment. It is always better to tell the truth.

Hi Simon,
I have two questions and I tried to check your posts, yet I did not find any clear response.
1- I am from a banned country (famous travel ban …) and I got waiver. Interview was held 20 days ago, but our cases for all the family members is still in Ready status, though we had 2-3 updates. Is it normal? So there is no clear way to say how long it will remain in Ready and if it changes to AP or Refused, what does it mean?
2- For some friends, after seeing the second letter, after few days it disappeared and first letter took its place. Is there any particular reason for that or it might be technical error from KCC systems?
Thank you.

1. I’m surprised you “got a waiver”. A waiver is applied for by the CO after an interview, and takes several months to achieve – so I am doubtful you “got” a waiver. As for the status, ignore the updates and be patient.
2. It’s just a system issue. Nothing to worry about.

Well, anyhow CO considered my case as Waiver in the end of interview and gave the yellow sheet with handwritten 212fw and “you are eligible for waiver …” is marked on it. He told me it will take months.
Than you.

OK – so you do NOT have a waiver, and the problem is you do not have the months it will take because the case must complete by September 30th (which doesn’t give enough time for the waiver to be approved and then likely background checks and so on).

You can write to KCC about him if you want, other than that – nothing.

Dear Brit ,
If I got accepted at the interview , what is the maximum time that visa would probably take to be issued ?
May 7, 2019 at 05:26
It varies. A few days to several months if there is AP needed.

I was refused last year with 212 6ci that’s mean life time ban now I only ban or my wife also if not then my wife can apply for dv program
May 7, 2019 at 10:32
I don’t know – it depends on the circumstances. But anyway – the DV program is a lottery so being selected is unlikely.
May 7, 2019 at 10:41
In that case I am the DV winner not my wife but I was charged in fraud documents with life time ban that’s my mistake not my wife so she can participate in DV lottery and if she win then what happened
May 7, 2019 at 10:45
I already answered, but in most cases she is unlikely to have been innocent as she would have known your documents were fraudulent. So – she is probably banned too.
