Hi Mr. Brit,
I have few questions.
1.) Normally when is the sponsor asked to fill the I-134 form? after we are scheduled for an interview or when we receive the 2NL or when we are asked to submit the documents??
2.) Is I-134 form sent to the sponsor via email or to his US address?
3.) Am I getting a notification about I-134 form? whether it was sent to the sponsor or It was completed by the sponsor ???
November 23, 2019 at 16:39
You take the I-134 and supporting documents to the interview. The sponsor downloads it and emails it to you.

November 21, 2019 at 09:56
Hi Brit, I’m wondering how expansive the questioning will be at the port of entry when I first arrive with my DV visa. Will I be going through a thorough “secondary inspection” as I have read or will it be a routine, quick entry. Thanks!
November 23, 2019 at 16:44
Routine.Almost NO questions typically.
November 24, 2019 at 11:05
Hi brit i recieved the email from kcc about the extra documents i currently live in jordan i got my bachelor’s degree from syria back in the 90s so im required to get a police clearance certificate from syria when i tried to contact the embassy they told me that the only way to get the certificate is to get personally from syria, and syria is unsafe right now and i dont know what to do so if you can help me that would be great
November 24, 2019 at 16:58
If you had read the instructions you would have seen that you are not expected to provide a police cert for Syria if you don’t live there. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.

Hi! Do you have any informations about SB-1 (returning resident visa) process? My kids got SB-1 visa in embassy in our country (i have green card for about 3 years now, but the children returned to our country with my wife (now ex wife), and i applied for returning visas for my kids, we finished with the embassy in july(this year), and in august we came in the USA together, i gave to the immigration officer children’s old green cards and the package which i got in the embassy and the officer said that im gonna get new green cards for the kids in about 3 months. Now after more than 3 months i didn’t get the new green cards for my kids, so my question is should i pay fee for the new cards (cause on the travel.statedotcom it says that returning residents dont pay for the immigrant fee (220$) but somebody (said to me that i need fill out i-90 form, and to pay around 540$ for each child for the new green cards. So, do you know anythung about this? Im really confused right now in would like to get your opinion on this, im worried about this situation. Thank you Brit.

Hi Brit Simon,
I applied for a European country citizen ship 1 year before I apply for DV lottery 2019, I already received my green card and I went back to finalize my stuff at home before coming to USA permanently, before I go back to USA I received communications regarding my citizenship application that I did earlier saying my application has been approved and now I can issue my new passport,
1- with regards to my (LPR in USA) is it ok to proceed with the citizenship process and issue my new passport? 2- If that is ok is it possible to enter USA with the new passport?
3- do I need to inform or update my new passport information any where in USA?
Thanks & Regards
Dado

New immigrants over 55″ parents” with pre existing conditions how they are going to get health insurance coverage!? This means they will not be issued an immigrant visa based on their health history or for being uninsurable!? Just wondering. And how much will the premiums be for these situations if insurable!? This new immigration proclamation should not include to people already in the US, whose wives husbands or children are abroad and looking forward to unite with each other. This proclamation should be called breaking up family ties and the consicounces of this will have devestating , distractive and psyc ological issues on families for a long time. What a ❤️ ache. This Stress is creating unstable families and the outcome in the long run will be seen in the society in the future. Money can not take the place of your family member. I can’t believe that in the 21st century we are still destroying people’s lives all over the world. Let’s hope that sane and wise people will come and change all what is happening now. A leader should not be a bully and greedy.

Hi i have 2 question please.
1. Can I have a sponsor who will file the I 134 from New York, but I would go to live and the GC address to be set in Miami? Would it arise some problem at interview?
2. If I pay the GC fee when I go in US, would it cause some delay to be sent to my address? Can the GC be paid cash in some gov office in US or some other ways rather than credit card because i dont know when i get one in US?
November 23, 2019 at 17:16
1. No problem.
2. Credit card. You can get a secured CC very easily.
November 22, 2019 at 08:42
Dear Simon
a) Is it mandatory to fill the preparer s section in I-134 form
b) How long that they expecting to support in I -134 maximum.
c) Usually how long that the sponsor legally bond to support beneficiary if the sponsor didnt specify the duration of support.
Thank you
November 23, 2019 at 17:18
a) https://britsimonsays.com/all-about-public-charge-affidavit-of-support-i-134/

Hi Simon,
Got selected through birth country Ukraine but living in china since 2012. Was asked for police certificate covering entire stay in China but China only mentioned 2015-2019 on the police certificate as they say they are unable to find registration records in their system. So now I have pcc but covering only 4 out of 7 years in China. What should I do?
November 23, 2019 at 17:19
Submit it anyway. It will probably satisfy the CO
November 22, 2019 at 09:48
Hi Simon,
I have a One criminal record (Fraud) and I have been charged just to pay a fine.
I can read about visa denials but there is exception to an alien who commited only one crime.
What do you think will I be denied or there will be an exception applicable?
November 23, 2019 at 17:20
It partly depends on the nature and seriousness of the crime.
November 25, 2019 at 15:09
Can they deny my entrance to US in general if I dont get an invitation for interwiev?
November 27, 2019 at 22:44
The “can” do anything they want. But your question is confused.
November 22, 2019 at 10:05
Hello Mr. Simon!
I have a question regarding first application for green card lottery, in which I made mistake in my name. Instead of Mutabarposho I wrote MutabarposhoSHO. This is spelling error, but nevertheless we made it. I’m not the applicant, the applicant my husband. Some of our friend who are the winners of green card they suggest us to write to Kentuccy and informed them about it. What do you think, will this the purpose of refusing the visa or we have chance to obtain visa? What is the better thing for us, because I know some cases with such kind problem and they didn’t obtain a visa.
Please, clear us this situation as more as possible.
With best regards,
M.
November 23, 2019 at 17:21
Make sure it is accurate in the DS260. It’s not a problem.

Read the FAQ about unlocking the DS260.
November 23, 2019 at 18:29
Hi Brit,
I’ve read the FAQ on the unlocking process, however my case has been scheduled for interview on the 11th of December in Suva Fiji, Oceanic Region. The changes are just minor , I was reviewing my form and seems like some questions on the security questions weren’t highlighted that I answered but I did answer it .
The second question was about have i lived outside my country for the past 5 years , again I cant see my answers.
I guess it might be technical problems
Is it.possible that I provide my supporting documents during my interview if asked?
Your assistance is much appreciated
thanks
adi
November 23, 2019 at 19:31
Yes you can take additional documents to the interview. You cannot unlock your DS260 now, but you can review it.
November 22, 2019 at 23:36

1. Would it arise some problems during the interview if my sponsor (one who files I-134) is from NY, but Im gonna choose the address of living and where will the GC be mailed in Miami ?
2. Paying the GC fee when arriving in US, would it cause any delay and getting it late?
November 23, 2019 at 17:33
1. No problem
2. No problem.

Hello Brit good night, how are you? I was born in Porlamar-Venezuela, I put it in my entry, in my ds-260 and that’s what my birth certificate says. But in my passport it says Place of birth: San Juan-Venezuela (Where I currently live) Do you think it is a serious problem?
November 24, 2019 at 06:09
No
November 24, 2019 at 16:40
Should I correct the passport? Or what really matters is the birth certificate?
November 24, 2019 at 17:09
Both documents should be correct.
November 24, 2019 at 22:38
It’s Okey Mr Simon, but My birth certificate is correct says that I was born in Porlamar-Venezuela, my passport says that San Juan-Venezuela was born! I live in San Juan, it was a printing error, the other information in my passport is fine! What I want to know Mr. Simon is if this is a problem or do I have to change my passport?
November 27, 2019 at 22:37
I already answered. If your passport is incorrect it needs to be corrected.
November 24, 2019 at 16:01
The name of my father is not mentioned on my birth certificate at the level of the father’s name nothing is written it’s empty. On the ds260 at the level of information about the father I leave the information empty or I have to imperatively put the name of my dad I really need an answer to fill my ds260 please

November 24, 2019 at 18:36
Hi Brit;
DV 2020 selectee AF14xxx
Am here to kindly ask info though i read similar FAQ, ]
but somehow slightly differences:
I made typing mistakes while primary entry to my wife’s
birth year..instead of 83 i marked 89 and also also birth place
mentionned actual residence place; but currently am not yet filling DS-260;
from which I will make corrections. am a bite late due to some
key documents not yet found.
a) is this major mistakes not to have visa?
b) I was proposed to have interview in neigbouring country kenya, but also
in my own country there is US consulate. do you advice to change and pass
it in my own and avoid even transport costs among others….. or go in kenya?
c) I am about to renew my current passport and my country immigration office request
all to submit the old ones. as I’ve been in other countries does US officer request old passport
in interview? if yes and i will be submit for renewal, shall be a case in interview?? or I can
keep a copy of it?
THANK YOU.
November 27, 2019 at 22:29
a. Individually these mistakes are small – but the combination of smaller problems could create suspicion.
b. Your choice.
c. Keep a copy at least.
November 25, 2019 at 01:51
Hi Brit
I got 2NL and my interview scheduled on Jan. For interview, though my english communication is okay my spouse is afraid interviewing in english.
1 If is it okay to give interview in our native language ?
2. Is communicating on native language increase chances to disqualify ?
November 27, 2019 at 22:38
1. Depends on the embassy – bt typically yes.
2. Not officially – but obviously it would be better to show you can speak some English.
November 25, 2019 at 04:41
Hi Brit, Thank you so much for all of your support. I entered the name of the father and mother in DS260 as first name and last name. In the birth certificate and marriage certificate the name of the father and mother is long (it includes
middle name which has 2 words or more). Does this has affect in the approval of the visa because the name does not match exactly? Should I unlock DS 260 and make the name of the father and mother same as the birth certificate and marriage certificate? I appreciate your help!
November 27, 2019 at 22:39
Not a problem that needs correcting.
November 29, 2019 at 19:18
Thanks a lot!

Hi Brit, I have made a mistake on my DS 260. I have once been rejected a visitor visa to the US. So, when asked in the form, I answered, Yes. However, under the briefly explain section, I incorrectly wrote Under Section 241 (b), instead of Under Section 214 (b). Please suggest if I should email KCC to unlock my DS 260 form to amend this?
Thank You
November 27, 2019 at 22:56
Yes – correct that.
November 26, 2019 at 15:52
Dear Brit
I got urgent question as my case no is current for january. Case no 2020EU92xx
Matter is that i got two citizenships and two passports. On one of the passports (which is not my country of eligibility) my name is partly spelled differently. They put ZH instead of J but they sound equally. Do i have to unlock ds form now and input the second spelling form as my other Names in the names section? My country of eligibility is Tajikistan and according to main passport my name is correctly spelled in the ds form. But second passport (Russia) spells one letter differently as my name is originally not Russian. Pls advise.
November 27, 2019 at 23:00
No need to unlock. They will only see the passport you give them.
December 1, 2019 at 05:10
But is it safe now to unblock?

Hi Mr Simon,
Your advices are really appreciate. I have submitted DS-260 in May. My case number is 2020As18xxx. I was selected a job which is SVP range 6>7. But later I realized that it should be 7>8 to become a qualified applicant.
I have a Master degree with 6 years of working experience
Will above matter affect to my process badly, or is it necessary to unlock the DS-260?
Seeking your kind advice
Hasi

You are probably qualified through education, so your work experience is irrelevant.

Hii Brit.
I am a DV 2020 winner and i have submitted my DS 260 form since july 2019 but in two weeks time to come, i will be awarded a masters degree in a foreign country. Is it permissible for me to unlock the DS 260 form and update that aspect or not?
If yes, will it be advisable for me to get a police clearance from that foreign country for onward submission to KCC as well?
Thanks

You can add that if you want. If you were in that country some months you may need a police cert – but read the instructions to understand that.
