Hi Brit. Any update on the Lawsuit hearing??
September 4, 2020 at 19:08
No need to ask. If I hear something I will publish it.

Hi Brit!
I’m a DV 2021 selectee from Nepal with CN near 7K. I already submitted ds260 and the supporting documents. Now I’m planning to get married in December(in fact I had planned it already to be honest). So,
1- Will it be a wise decision to get married at this stage and adjust the marital status? Or, should I postpone the marriage and proceed alone?
2- Can we adjust the status anytime before the interview?
Your suggestion will be appreciated! Thanks!!
September 4, 2020 at 21:45
1. Yes you can marry.
2. Well it is a lot easier when you do it early. So – as soon as you marry, add your spouse.
Read the FAQ.

Hello brit , I have heard that judge will give the decision tomorrow . Is that right ??
September 4, 2020 at 21:46
Patience.
September 4, 2020 at 23:03
Hello Brit,
I’m asking a question for my Sudanese buddy. His family are 2021 winners. As you know there is a travel ban against Sudan and a number of other countries.
Their case number is in the 1300s. They have already submitted their DS260. They have been asked to submit supporting documents.
They want to ask you is it plausible/good idea to not submit their supporting documents until after the presidential election(Jan 2021) in an effort to get a visa interview while there is no travel ban against them(If Trump loses and Biden lifts ban)?
September 5, 2020 at 03:15
Yes they should delay documents (they actually should have delayed filing the DS260). If Biden wins there may be a chance for them later.

Hi Simon,
My wife and I and our 3 year old son all have been issued Green Cards. They were activated last year in October during a trip to Hawaii. Our intention was to move to the US within 12 months but this whole COVID thing has pushed these plans back. I am worried that we will lose the Green Cards if we don’t travel before October 2020. Can you shed any light on how to keep our Green Cards active?
Thanks.
September 9, 2020 at 13:08
Ideally re-enter before the 12 months. Otherwise you may need to apply for SB-1 visas from the local embassy.
September 4, 2020 at 22:25
Judge Mehta has issued his order 🙂
September 4, 2020 at 22:27
Brit, tell us what is it about? Judge has published decision. Is it bad news or good news?
September 4, 2020 at 22:30
The order is issued. Good news guys!!!!
September 4, 2020 at 22:46
Hello Simone
Please I want to know why is so hard for someone who had already submitted the DS260 form and was not scheduled for interview to be selected again in subsequent DV lottery
2) does the system automatically reject entry for such, because they have your records?
3) Does it have a time frame after if you were denied your dv visa, to be selected again in the subsequent dv programes
4) Please does it also mean if one was denied he or she should never try the Dv entry again?
Please give me further explanation on these questions
thank you
September 5, 2020 at 03:13
Silly questions, because the draw is totally random, so your original statement is incorrect.

Brit finally we win. Dv resumed. Thanks a lot dear Brit.
September 5, 2020 at 07:07
Hi Simon
I asked these questions because you did answered someone that glitch of not been able to submit his Ds260 forms is doing that person a favor in future immigrant process ,please how is that glitch doing him a favor?
September 5, 2020 at 13:51
Ask again in a few days.
September 4, 2020 at 22:56
I had an interview in April. Do you think they will call me for interview? Does this decision help me?
I blame myself for not joining Curtis Morrison’s case.
September 4, 2020 at 23:33
Don’t blame your self dear I believe we will all have our visas. We’ve gone a far way to loose hope not now that we won the case. So not been prioritise does not mean you wount get Visa. You stand a chance cos you belong to class 3. Just some words to bring you up…
September 5, 2020 at 07:03
Hi @Golden, we should never lose hope until Sept 30th blc I can really see a great step of favour and counting. What abt people of group 4 who were plaintiffs of the AILA lawsuits? Could it be possible for them to get their visas before the 30th?
September 5, 2020 at 07:32
BIH dear like britsimon said we need to push the embassy and as well seek advise with the lawyers. The matter is been mentioned as an emergency. Therefore is possible. Right now we need to follow up day and night making sure we are pushing as far as possible to obtain our visas on or before 30th September…
September 5, 2020 at 09:16
Hello Golden hope u doing well ?
Can u please help me to understand in which way u talking about us pushing on embassy because I am from Liberia I am so worry about my case too , day n night , hope can I pushed hard on my embassy in my country? Or is the means by calling them day n night that what u mean ? Plz help me I am lost
September 7, 2020 at 01:05
My dear Golden. I received a ready for scheduling mail in March. So should I contact KCC to send me an interview date? Should i do medicals while waiting for the interview date? Cos of time factor.
September 8, 2020 at 20:57
see if you can get an embassy appointment and contact KCC
September 4, 2020 at 23:00
What about winners from Trump travel ban countries?
September 5, 2020 at 03:13
Still banned sadly.
September 6, 2020 at 19:12
how long will last this ban?
September 4, 2020 at 23:34
Dear Brit, I hope you are well!
I have a worry that is not a big deal, but could be.
I am a DV2021 winner, my case number is fairly high. I have submitted my DS260 and reopened it, because my passport will expire by july 2021, and I believe by July my case number would be current if I am lucky, I was thinking maybe renew the passport and include in my DS260? And send both documents to KCC? Or shall I just keep the ds260 with the old passport info?
Thanks
September 5, 2020 at 00:05
Good day Sir Brit,
I watched your live telecast. I get the impression that dv 2021 interviews could start this year. Thanks for standing by our side all the time. God bless you.
I would be grateful if you could clarify this for us.
1. I understand that the fiscal year for DV 2021 ends on 09/30/2021. I further understand that the validity of the visa is 6 months, which takes effect from the day the medical exam is done. Now, if one went through the medical test on say 15th September, 2021 and gets visa issued in the same month, would their visa practically have 6 months validity or they would have to travel within 15 days( before the end of the fiscal year).
Kind regards,
September 5, 2020 at 03:23
6 months.
September 5, 2020 at 00:07
Law360 (September 4, 2020, 6:29 PM EDT) — A D.C. federal judge on Friday temporarily barred the Trump administration from applying its visa ban to foreign citizens who won green cards in the Diversity Visa lottery, finding that the U.S. Department of State’s refusal to process their visas is likely illegal.
In an 85-page opinion, U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta said the federal government had “unreasonably delayed processing” of green cards won by a group of lottery winners and their relatives, who had found themselves unable to secure visas to move to the U.S. under President Donald Trump’s visa restrictions.
The judge ordered the federal government to “undertake good-faith efforts” to “expeditiously process and adjudicate” their green card applications by Sept. 30, the end of the government’s fiscal year.
September 5, 2020 at 01:33
Hi Brits,
I have submitted my ds 260 application for this year dv since June 25th but have not heard from KCC .should contact them or wait for a while ?
Thank you
September 5, 2020 at 03:26
Wait
September 5, 2020 at 02:22
Dear BRIT,Thanks a lot for your great job. Can you tell what is the decision of the judge Mehta about the family sponsored preference F 11 visa type? Our documents were qualified for interview just before the Trump administration proclamation ban.Is this the only category that stayed impacted by this ban? Will we be able to get interview after December,31?I am waiting to unite with my son for 8 years already.( My son is in Ukraine)Life is so short. I am worrying so much.
September 5, 2020 at 03:27
Check with the lawyers – I focus on DV lottery.
September 5, 2020 at 02:36
Mr Brit you cannot sleep oo while your children are confused. The judge order is not clear so please prepare more videos to explain. But before then i have some few questions.
1Does reissuiance of Visa require interview again?
2Do people on AP require another interview ?
I believe its canceled cases that require interview. So if the answer to the above is no then it mean interviews are going to be prioritised for those plaintiffs who were listed and then to canceled interviews and then to those at NVC and then to those at Kcc and lastly to those who are yet to submit their documents. 3 Us this argument right ?
Please do not treat my argument trivial . Throw more light into it. Thank you Brit. We love you.

September 5, 2020 at 03:42
Hi Simon, what is the process for rescheduling an interview?
I’m DV21 OC1XX, and I already have my Ready for Scheduling email. At present there is a ban on travel from where I live (state of Victoria) to the city where the US consulate is (Sydney, NSW). If, for example, an interview were scheduled for November/December 2020 there’s a fair chance that Australian authorities won’t let me cross the state border due to Covid.
So, is there an easy and safe way to reschedule the interview if I cannot make it to the originally scheduled time?
September 5, 2020 at 04:15
You can reschedule if needed – there is plenty of time – so contact the embassy once you are scheduled.
September 5, 2020 at 03:56
Any chances for deadline extension or not?? My case no.was updated in visa bulletin of june bt i didnt recieved 2NL due to this pandemic.N i got little confusion here m i belongs to group 4 or 5??

Hello Brit!Quick question:a.few months ago you posted a form for Dv2020 winners.to.fill out and be part of a lawsuit. There are so many lawsuits now that I forgot which lawsuit was that.Is it AILA?THANKS FOR BEEN AN ANGEL!!
September 5, 2020 at 04:34
That was AILA, yes.
September 5, 2020 at 04:43
Hi, Britsimon, Thanks for the effort your puting into answering our questions, i am DV 2021 winner, AF region , about sixty thousands, i have still not been able to access the Ds260 FORM to summit, i keep getting the message that , the case number is currently unavailabe, i have wrote kcc and they are saying that, my case number does not match the information provided, most likely, if there is any mistake in my original entry is either on day or month of birth, but i also donot know if it is system glitch, is this game over for me? or should i keep writing kcc? is there any chance for me?
September 5, 2020 at 04:50
Try every day and month within your birth year.
September 9, 2020 at 04:52
thanks very much Mr Britsimon, trying every day and month withing my birth, will it not look as if somebody is trying to steal my information leading to blocking my case, as just asking ,
thank you sir
September 9, 2020 at 12:06
Would I say to do something that would cause a problem??? Think.
September 5, 2020 at 04:46
Hello, How r u?
I m a DV lottery winner of 2021. In the first letter from KCC i.e. DV lottery status letter my full name was mentioned as Sachin Gulabrao Kubade.
But according to my passport the full name is Sachin Kubade and the same I have filled during DS260 form filling. Will this be a problem anywhere?
Please respond.
September 5, 2020 at 04:54
In the DS260 use the “other names used” section to list the other version of your name – ask to unlock if you have already submitted.
September 5, 2020 at 10:38
Thanks Brit..done as suggested..form was already submitted..
September 5, 2020 at 05:29
My dear BritSimon
Please could you tell us what specific effects it has for DV 2021 winners?
Thanks a lot!!
September 5, 2020 at 05:53
Read my latest article.
September 5, 2020 at 05:46
Hi Brit, i have submitted my Ds-260 in June-2020. Since my case number is high and i have a valid Us visit visa, is it possible to proceed the visa process in the US.
September 5, 2020 at 05:54
That is risky – you would be better on CP
September 5, 2020 at 06:00
So Muslim ban is still there. Right sir?
That means, the number of cases per 1000 case number will be decreased; more holes are added.
Will that make Visa bulletin update at higher speed comparing with last year?
? thank you brit.
September 5, 2020 at 13:47
Yes – I have explained that in my recent articles and videos.
September 5, 2020 at 07:46
Hi Sir Brit I don’t know how to thank you may the Lord bless you and your family for doing a great job for us and your lawyers. My sister is a Dv2020 winner and her interview was cancelled because of covid-19 now that things are going normal I will like you to help us on how to write letter to the embassy so that we will not waste our time and your precious time that you use to fight for us. Thanks

September 5, 2020 at 07:50
Hi Brit
I was refused DV visa in 2010 since then I have been trying for past nine years and not being selected is my 2010 denial going against me or I should keep trying
I am thinking continues 9 years entry should be enough for me to be selected randomly.
September 5, 2020 at 13:54
The chance of selection is much less than that. Around one in 100 or 200.
September 5, 2020 at 08:05
Hello Mr. Brett,
Thank you so much for your support, my only question is, how can I know if KCC has received my submitted documents?
September 5, 2020 at 13:55
You could call them, but if you are DV2021 leave KCC to help DV2020 people right now. Wait.
September 5, 2020 at 08:30
Hi Brit, I am dv2020 winner, I asked to have my interview in Jordan, but now I am stuck in Oman, in this case shall I ask to unlock DS260 to change the country?
Thanks
September 5, 2020 at 13:57
If you were previously scheduled, You can try – but you have to contact both embassies to transfer your case.
September 5, 2020 at 15:35
Not really, my case number haven’t been scheduled yet, so in this case do I still need to contact both embassies or shall I unlocked DS form?

September 5, 2020 at 12:01
Hi Simon,
when I filled in my DS260 I included all of my education and 12 years of employment as I believed that was what was required. I am now wondering if they wanted my entire work history ?
should I get it opened and add more ? I’m over 50 and have had many many jobs, i have supplied enough to cover the education and work requirements. I have re read your often asked questions on the forms.
thanks so much
jane
September 5, 2020 at 14:17
They ask for 10 years of employment history.
September 5, 2020 at 12:07
Hello Brit,
There was an extension of validity for medical exams, from 6 months to 7.
Does it affect the DV selectees?
Thank You in advance and best regards!
September 5, 2020 at 14:19
Yes I know but I am recommending new medicals where the additional FULL 6 months is important.
September 5, 2020 at 12:13
Hi Simon,
i asked above about entering more on my work history as I only included 12 years of work history thinking that was specifically what was required on my DS260, I forgot to mention that i received the email already to submit documents, not sure if that means that what i submitted was adequate.
thanks so much
jane
September 5, 2020 at 12:14
@ Emmanuel what I mean by pushing is to send them emails and as well call the. Sending mail requesting for an emergency interview then I’d possible including the link of the juge decision concerning DV cases. You can ask Brit on that but right now is not available until tuesday He said so…
September 5, 2020 at 13:15
Dear Brit,
Firstly i want to thank you for all your work.
I kindly ask an advice regarding my situation.
I was a winner of DV2020 EU 16XXX and had an interview in 1 April ( that was Canceled).
Before it was canceled we have made the online medical appointment (but not received a reply from the Clinic) and we also confirm our appointment with the embassy and we sent all the documents via mail to the embassy.
In June we have been also a winner for DV2021 with a CN less than 5000, we have sent all the document to KCC and this month we received the Confirmation of the successful documents from KCC. in case that the interview for the DV2020 and DV2021 will start could I:
1. Request to my embassy an appointment date for DV2020 as an emergency( following the Court ) ?
2. Could this request interfere with a possible 2NL letter and visa appointment for the DV2021?
3. In way to be safe for all the futures outcomes, could i postpone the DV2021 interview?
4. In case I receive the Visa could i travel in USA without problems?
Regards
Es

September 5, 2020 at 19:53
Hey brit. I want to thank you for the good work you do for us. I am a DV 2021 selectee. I’m worried about the interview. I submitted form DS 260 at first as a single man then I got married and unlocked it then added my spouse. Now we are divorcing so I want to unlock the second time and remove my spouse such that I remain a single man like in the start. Will this have serious implications at my interview that I added an applicant and removed them later. Advice please. What’s best thing to do I don’t want to jeopardize my chance.
September 9, 2020 at 13:17
Your actions are suspicious – so yes of course that will impact the interview.
September 5, 2020 at 20:28
Hey Simon it’s already September and I haven’t heard from the KCC about the next step ever since I submitted my Ds-260form on 17th June 2020. Should I email them?could there be any problem?
September 9, 2020 at 13:17

September 6, 2020 at 07:10
Dear Simon,
I registered my details for the class action and received the following email today:
Dear DV-2020 Selectee:
You are receiving this email from counsel in Gomez v. Trump because you responded to a call for plaintiffs from BritSimonSays.com or contacted us directly as a DV-2020 selectee and/or an individual acting on their behalf. If you are already represented by an attorney in the Mohammed v. Pompeo, Fonjong v. Trump, or Aker v. Trump lawsuits, please contact your attorney regarding next steps.
DV-2020 Selectees may now pursue their Diversity visas at their local consulates immediately. We recommend that you request an emergency visa appointment and ask to be treated as “mission critical.”
This is because on Friday, September 4, 2020, a federal court GRANTED our request for a preliminary injunction and blocked the State Department from refusing to process DV-2020 visa applications because of the April and June Presidential Proclamations. YOU DO NOT NEED TO JOIN A NEW LAWSUIT OR PAY AN ATTORNEY TO GET THE BENEFIT OF THE COURT’S ORDER. A copy of the Court’s order is available here.
If you are denied a “mission critical” emergency appointment or do not receive a timely response, please let us know immediately by filling out this form. We will be reporting back to the Court what is happening at the consulates on a regular basis, and we will seek further relief from the Court if Diversity Visa winners are unable to receive their visas by the September 30 deadline.
Thank you and good luck,
The Gomez v Trump Team
The email suggests contacting my local consulate as above. However, i had not yet received an email from KCC about an interview, just the one confirming they had all my documents and ready for processing (group 4).
Should I still contact KCC as you suggested, or should I contact my local consulate as suggested by this email, or should I do both? Thank you, I really appreciate your time.
September 6, 2020 at 13:33
I got the same , can u please contact me at [email protected]
September 6, 2020 at 19:05
I’ve got the same email and am in the same scenario (group 4), but I highly doubt they’d prioritise our cases over those who already got the 2NL back in March before the embassies closed. That is, if embassies are already back to scheduling interviews. I also contacted the KCC yesterday, which you should do, but besides the automatic reply, I haven’t received a response yet.
September 6, 2020 at 22:05
Thank you John, I emailed KCC yesterday too. I guess just wait and see.

September 6, 2020 at 09:00
Hulo BritSimon. Thank you for the good work. Please if you have unlocked and edited form DS 260 that means you have 2 confirmation pages. I’m wondering when going for interview do you take both forms or current latest form DS 260? Regards
September 6, 2020 at 10:29
You would only take the latest form as it’s the most updated version of your DS-260.
September 6, 2020 at 22:47
Those pages are the same, You get a number under the barcode in right lower angle of the conf. page. Number is same on both pages (before and after the unlocking) and that number is used to unlock the ds-260 form. Both my wife and me had our passports renewed and therefore we needed to unlock ds-260 form. Unlocking was done by the consular employee from our local embassy, not KCC and I do not know the procedure for unlocking the form by KCC
September 9, 2020 at 13:09
Doesn’t matter which.
September 6, 2020 at 09:11
Hulo Simon. Also a friend of mine is asking that she submitted form DS 260 and then unlocked after getting married and added spouse. Now there divorcing and she wants to remove the spouse hence unlock form DS 260 and edit. She’s asking will this have implications at interview. They might ask why she added the spouse and removed him again. That please advice what should she do.
September 9, 2020 at 13:07
Well since June this person got married and divorced??? Yes – this will undoubtedly raise concerns whether the marriage and this behavior is about some sort of fraud.
September 6, 2020 at 10:35
please is there any DV Ghanaian immigrant with an expired visa on this platform. And also what are the procedure to follow in applying for a reissueance of a new visa.Thank you.
September 6, 2020 at 16:17
Sadiq pls I’m from Ghana and 2021 selectee.pls I want some info from you.can u text me your number through this so I can call you 0244421484 thank you
September 6, 2020 at 11:26
Brithsimon,
I want to know when your case number became current in August and then you received information from KCC that your DS-260 has been processed and that you should send the relevant documents to continue with the best processing. Now if you send the documents the following month, September:
1. Do you still stand the chance for early scheduling and interview?
Since, the focus of KCC will now be focused on processing DV 2020 as result of the victory won in the court case,
2. Is it advisable that we send the documents now to KCC since our CN is current?
In case the ban is lifted by 31 December 2020?
3. When do you think the 2 NL will be given or sent out?

Hi Brit,
My interview supposed to be in Jordan but I am living in Oman now due Cvid19, my case number haven’t been scheduled yet, so in this case do I still need to contact both embassies or shall I unlocked DS form?
