Hi Simon, I’ve just called both KCC and our embassy. The lady from KCC told me that we are going to be scheduled in 2-3 days, because embassy in Warsaw gave them some slots. The lady from our embassy said that they’re not going to interview any cases which weren’t sent yet because they have lots of other things to do. So I don’t understand what’s going on. If there is still a chance of getting the 2nd NL or the game is over.
September 23, 2020 at 00:03
I don’t know what will happen.
September 22, 2020 at 14:44
Hello Simon. My girlfriend dv 2020 EU30xxx was just approved for her visa today at the Moscow embassy. My sincere thanks to you for all that you do. Also a thank you to Curtis Morrison. She is a named plaintiff.

Hi Simon, I am in category 2 and yesterday I handedover our new medicals as requested from the embassy. My ceac status is Refused since my interview. How do I know whether embassy has gone through my case and has approved visa ( I have heard even the embassy approve the visa it takes some time to kcc to issue visa).. do they change the status or it will be as refused until KCC issue visa or does the embassy inform us when they approve our visa ..Do I need to contact the embassy and push to process my case or just wait
September 23, 2020 at 00:04
You can ask the embassy or wait.
September 24, 2020 at 18:28
Hi brit,
2020AS8*** Sri Lanka
Yesterday I sent an email to embassy asking the current status of my case as I didnt heard from them after I submitted medicals. Immediately they called and ask did you submit all the pending documents(this and that) for their confirmation and told me they will contact me later. In the evening I just checked the CEAC data and I was surprised to see the status has changed to ‘Issued’. It was a very quick. Today they called me and asked to collect our passports and visa packages.
Thank you for everything and we are really blessed to have you. May god bless you and your family. Hope the best for other dv winners as well.
September 24, 2020 at 22:08

Diversity Visa (DV-2020) Update
Last Updated: September 17, 2020
On September 4, 2020, the U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia ruled in Gomez v. Trump that the Department must make good-faith efforts to expeditiously schedule, process and adjudicate DV-2020 diversity visa applications by September 30, 2020 notwithstanding Presidential Proclamation 10014. Therefore, DV-2020 applicants may be processed in embassies and consulates where local health conditions and post resources allow. In accordance with the requirements in the Immigration and Nationality Act and applicable regulations, applicants must be documentarily qualified, have paid all requisite application fees, be able to obtain the required medical exam by a panel physician, and demonstrate that they are eligible for a visa before visa issuance. DV-2020 applicants may be issued a visa through the end of the fiscal year, on or before September 30, 2020. Applicants are reminded that immigrant visas generally expire on the same date as the medical exam expiration, typically three or six months from the date of the exam. DV applicants whose medical exam has already been conducted but will expire prior to December 31, 2020, may opt to submit a new medical exam prior to visa issuance.
The Department of State will use the following prioritization plan for these applicants, consistent with the court order and applicable law:
September 22, 2020 at 17:13
Thank you for your email regarding the scheduling of a Diversity Immigrant Visa interview appointment.
Consistent with the court order in Gomez v. Trump, the Department of State is making a good-faith effort to adjudicate as many Diversity Visa applications as possible notwithstanding Presidential Proclamation 10014. Please note, however, the DV-2020 Program expires on September 30, 2020 and, in accordance with law, diversity visas may no longer be issued after that date. The Department expects that, due to resource constraints, limitations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and country conditions, we will not be able to adjudicate applications for all Diversity Visa selectees by that expiration date.
As ordered by the court, we are prioritizing individual named plaintiffs in the court case Gomez v. Trump and its companion cases who are applying for Diversity Visas. Beyond that, we have established priorities based on statutory standards and categories of cases most likely to result in timely issuances for eligible applicants. Accordingly, we are prioritizing applicants who have already been interviewed and who either have been determined eligible for a visa or may be determined eligible for a visa with additional information. We will also prioritize applicants with appointments that were cancelled in March, April, or May due to the COVID-19 pandemic and worldwide suspension of routine processing. Diversity Visa Selectees who have heard from the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) that they are documentarily qualified, but awaiting an interview date, will be scheduled in accordance with their rank order and post’s capacity, consistent with our standard processes. For more details, see

September 23, 2020 at 10:49
Hi Brit, do you have any idea what happens between verbal approval and getting the passport back with the visa? Just processing at the local embassy or any more potential hurdles?
September 23, 2020 at 17:40
There is a review performed at the local embassy, but they also have to get a visa allocated by KCC.
September 24, 2020 at 04:36
my ceac status just changed from ready to refused (2 days after being approved at the interview). just to check, this is normal while they are doing the processing? thanks for all your help.

September 23, 2020 at 16:47
That’s fine. The FAQ would have answered the question.
September 23, 2020 at 16:55
He should present both certificates at the when the embassy request them, all you need to prove is you have some level of high school or university education… either he present high school or university certificate
September 23, 2020 at 04:36
Hi Brit
My interview was on Monday 14/09/2020. After the interview I was given a pink paper and told to bring my medical and another document for me and my wife. Our passports where not given to us, that same evening I checked my status and it was updated to REFUSED. Please Brit what is the difference between AP and REFUSED.
September 23, 2020 at 07:16
No worries. Its ok. It shows refused usually and It will change when you bring your documents. Congratulation. Welcome to the USA.
September 23, 2020 at 16:52
No difference at this time. Refused can mean AP.
September 23, 2020 at 04:55
Hello Brit I hope you’re doing well.
So I’m a category 4 2020DV winner and I just got my 2NL. My case number is 45k
I hope you remember that disturbing guy who is stuck in Vietnam and trying to get an interview… well that guy is me and I want to tell you that the Consulate of HCMC in Vietnam is doing an amazing job. Thanks to my constant emails to them and KCC I was schedule this Friday for an interview. The tricky part is that I only have 48 Hours to get my medicals and attend the interview. The issue is that I’m at the capital Hanoi (North of Vietnam where there is an embassy) but they schedule me down south in HCMC Consulate. Long story short, The Consulate help me to do the medical without my passport (I’ll receive it tomorrow noon because it’s with the Vietnamese immigration for a visa extension) they are in touch with me on the phone and emails. They’re doing everything they can to help me pass the interview they even stayed on call for 20 minutes to review my DS260 and make sure I have all the documents needed.
I will have the results of my medicals on the same date of my interview! The clinic is in Hanoi and the interview location is in HCMC down south. The clinic said that they can’t send electronic copy to the Consulate and they can only hand it in person. I want to know your thoughts about this as soon as possible and I would appreciate it if you contact me via email to get better insight.
I’m also a plaintiff on Morrison’s Kennedy vs Trump (I don’t think it has nothing to do with my interview being scheduled though. I just got lucky being stuck in a country without covid19 and other DV applicant)
P.S: I didn’t sleep since yesterday and I’m on my way to do my medicals now and I could really use some guidance.
Thank you
September 23, 2020 at 16:52
Sounds like it is coming together for you!
September 23, 2020 at 17:00
I just did my medicals and I think they’ll put me on AP because it won’t be ready on time. I have a passport situation with the immigration and they gave two options: more days for visa renewal or we’ll hand you back your passport without VN visa extension. Do you think I can pass the interview normally with just one day left on my Vietnamese visa? I emailed the embassy telling them that… I feel bit worried about it but I’m putting a fight! Cheers
September 23, 2020 at 05:56
i am winner of DV2021, so respect to that can i enter DV2022
September 23, 2020 at 16:53
Yes
September 23, 2020 at 06:38
Hi Simon!
I’m a DV2020 selectee, and my case number is AS19XXX
currently my case is at KCC, all my document are submitted successfully since Feb, and I’m waiting for an interview in Israel.
I know for a fact that the Israeli embassy has appointments available for interviews until September 30, but when I email them, they email be back they “don’t contact the KCC to request DV files”,
When I’m calling KCC they telling me that there are a priority cases and I should wait for an email.
I really don’t know what do to.. Please suggest.. What would you do in this case?
September 23, 2020 at 16:57
All you can do is keep pushing both KCC and the embassy. However, not everyone can be scheduled, there is not enough time. So – hope for the extension.
September 23, 2020 at 06:57
Hi Brit,
I am from Uzbekistan. What is the language requirement of interview at U.S. Consulate? Speaking English fluently will not affect my case at U.S. Consulate?
September 23, 2020 at 16:58
Fluency in English is not a requirement.
September 23, 2020 at 08:18
Hello sir/madam, is there any option for correction of ds 260 which already has been send and also 2nd email has been arrived to send required documends.
The problem is that my sister dv holder mistakely wrote 2020 for qualification ending year, which has to be 2019. So please kindly help me to shut out this problem as soon as possible.
September 23, 2020 at 17:02
There is no need to change that.
September 23, 2020 at 09:10

September 23, 2020 at 17:02

September 23, 2020 at 11:07
Mr. Britsimon
I won DV 2021. I have already submitted my D2-260. But I am a bit worried because husband who is also my beneficiary is not presently. In the DS-260, I said that my husband is not working. Truly, he is not working.
1. Will this condition affect our process?
2. Will this affect him as an individual?
Thank you Sir. I will appreciate your response.
September 23, 2020 at 17:41
1. No
2. No
September 23, 2020 at 11:31
Hello Sir. I had my interview on september 18th and CO approved my case. It was showing refused for couple of days and now it is showing AP. I was told to make online profile and they would return passport on the pickup location selected on the online profile. I called the embassy and they said that they would take 10-12 days to return passport but 12 days from interview is end of september. Also interview is ongoing still and 10-12 days means recent interviewee wouldn’t be able to get passport in time before september 30. Does this seem concerning to you?
September 23, 2020 at 17:43
No
September 23, 2020 at 12:06
Hi Brit
I have a concern. DHS has restarted to request form I-994 public charge rules nationwide implemented by the Trump administration due to the second circuit injonction. Does it mean that the department of state will do the same with from D’s 5540 ?
Thanks you
September 23, 2020 at 17:45
Well those things are unrelated, but I keep saying that people should have the DS5540 anyway, just in case.
September 23, 2020 at 14:36
Hi Simon,
i was in Dubai from 2016 to 2018 and i am the DV lottery 2021 winner , i applied for police clearance certificate through online but my application was cancelled twice, i tried to find out what was the issue for application cancelled but no one from Dubai police replying my email and giving me any reason on telephone. i have my home country police certificate but i am unable to get Dubai PCC. I need your suggestion, what should i do ?
September 23, 2020 at 17:48
I have no idea why that is happening. Are you following the instructions from the reciprocity page?
September 23, 2020 at 21:04
Police certificates from Dubai can only be issued if you are physically present in UAE. Due to this, it is mentioned in the reciprocity page that if you are no longer in the country, there’s no requirement for it.
September 23, 2020 at 23:41
… which is why I tell people to read the instructions!
September 23, 2020 at 15:56
Hi Simon. I want to ask a question to professionals. Can I use a special photo application to take DV lottery photo? The application, I’m using, does not resize, drag or do any kind of change to a photo. It only crops and takes standard photo, 600X600, not exceeding 240 KB.Will that disqualify me? Thanks
September 23, 2020 at 17:50
No problem.
September 23, 2020 at 16:33
Good day birt! I so much appreciate your effort of helping the Dv lottery. Please during entry, since l was enage and my enagement was well presented, and was
planing to get marriage, in December 2019, which we did , my Question is please since we enter as couple in Dv 2021 October and got marriage officially in December 2019! Can this cause us problem during interview?
September 23, 2020 at 17:51
No

September 23, 2020 at 23:31
Ask the embassy if they are waiting for anything to approve your case.
September 23, 2020 at 17:10
Hi BRIT if on a name is written DANNY-LEE on the passport but the visa is printed with DANY LEE is this an error that must be corrected or it is good
September 23, 2020 at 17:58
It’s fine.
September 23, 2020 at 17:10
Hi Brit,
My sister DV2020 had an interview today, Sep 23 in Embassy in Moscow. Officer took additional document (resume) and said her medical exam results didn’t arrive to the embassy yet. So they gave her 221g form (white) and mentioned that her case will require administrative processing (because of the new resume). My question is which branch does the AP: KCC or USCIS? Should we try calling them (if yes which one) ? Is there anything we can do to speed up the AP and how likely they will finish AP before Sep 30. ? Have there been people on AP after interview and got visas yet ? (We’re plaintiff on DV3.0 I guess that helps but still hoping to get the visa before Sep 30)
Thanks,
Lilit R
September 23, 2020 at 17:59
The embassy handle it. It is unlikely that the resume will delay things for long.
September 23, 2020 at 17:11
Hi Brit!
Got my medical appointment last Wednesday and had my interview 2 days later, on Friday. I got my visa granted and the status on CEAC changed to REFUSED because of medicals. Obviously I wasn’t worrying about it however there was an update made on CEAC today and it still says REFUSED. Should I worry? Not sure if they got my medicals yet or no, however I’m concerned about the update and no change in the status.
Thanks!
September 23, 2020 at 17:59
Patience.
September 23, 2020 at 18:08
Greetings Sir Brit.. Got this question that I am wondering about.
That is if someone is tested to have Chlamydia but received treatment from the panel physician before given his results. Can this lead to visa denial despite the fact that Chlamydia is not mention on the list of diseases listed on the CDC health page. Thanks
September 23, 2020 at 18:45
No
September 23, 2020 at 19:06
Hi Brit
My interview early next Week, and i am going to proceed my case based on work experience .please i need your advice for the below questions:
1- At which step i have to mention that my case on work experience, is it at the time when i will be called to submit the documents or at the main interview with the CO.
because i have really prepare so many evidence and documents even the high school equivalency (just as a plus since it is vocational diploma) and i want to know at which step of interview i need to present them.
2- If i am expecting to have a certain amount as an end of service benefits when i leave my current work as per local law , so should i mention the expected amount in the ds5540?
3- my spensor provided me the 1040 for 2018 as he didnt yet filed the 2019, is that ok.
Thanks alot.
September 23, 2020 at 23:33
1. When they ask for education, provide what you have. They might clear you on that – if not – move to work experience proof. Make sure you are prepared well.
2. Yes
3. Hmmm, that is very late, but OK.
September 24, 2020 at 00:16
Hi Simon, I´m understandig all this DV proccess, I´m used to read what other people ask to you. Regarding Sam´s Question, Could you please tell me which additional forms I have to fill for the interview? I though that I-134 was the only one that will be requested.
Thanks
I´m DV2021 from Peru.
September 24, 2020 at 02:59
Extra Forms that MIGHT be requested are the DS5540 and DS5535.
September 24, 2020 at 15:06
Thanks!
September 23, 2020 at 19:31
Good day Brit !
If the visa bulletin becomes current by the end of the fiscal year 2021.will the kcc center procceed to sending documents’ confirmation and calling for interviews (sending 2ndL) numerically or randomly .
Thank you .
Regards
September 23, 2020 at 23:36
Its daft to be talking about going current at this point for 2021.
September 24, 2020 at 09:22
Hi again,
I want just have an idea about this if you don’t mind to answer .
Thank you again.
September 24, 2020 at 13:56
Please go and study what I have already explained about 2021 numbers.
September 23, 2020 at 20:09
Hello Sir
CN EU256XX group 4, plaintiff only at Morrison 3.0 . Just received the 2nl. Interview in Frankfurt on Friday 25th.
If I can not get the medical examination done until 30/9, could it have a negative effect even if the deadline is extended or I would go on AP?!
September 23, 2020 at 23:39
Unless there is an extension your deadline for approval is September 30th. You cannot be approved without the medical. Don’t delay – pay additional expedite fees if needed.
September 25, 2020 at 11:49
Hello Sir
We got approved today at the consulate. We did the medical yesterday without an appointment, the doctor said, they will send the medical asap, at least on Monday. The CO said that they are in touch with the doctors.
Today there were approximately 50 people at the consulate from different groups as i could notice.
Thank you for your guidance and great information you share.
September 25, 2020 at 13:04
Very cool!
September 24, 2020 at 00:09
Manfred, my fiance faced the same situation. No available exams until september 30. I told her to stand on the sidewalk of the clinic until they gave her an exam. After 4 hours of standing outside they gave her the exam on that first day. Per Winston Churchill, “If you are going through hell, keep going!’
September 23, 2020 at 20:22
Hi BRIT I just looked at my status and it’s issued. It is gradually thanks to you Mr BRIT. Thank you very much for being here for us DV2020. Thanks to the lawyers.
September 23, 2020 at 23:39
Awesome!
September 23, 2020 at 22:47
Hi Simon,
My wife won the dv2021, my dad is in the US, he travelled to US early 2019, he overstayed beyond his visit period, he surrendered himself to the authoritie & currently he is seeking asylum.
In ds260 I need to indicate his current address, can the consular use his asylum case as a reason to disqualify my wife’s case even if am not the main applicant?
Would it be wise to give his current US address?
Thank you.
September 23, 2020 at 23:49
His case has no affect on yours.
September 24, 2020 at 00:15
Thank you,
I want to be honest & truthful but am afraid it would cost my family the VISA’s when we give info of my dad. Am confused please advise.
Thank you.
September 24, 2020 at 02:58
I couldn’t have been more clear. Please be respectful of my time.
September 23, 2020 at 22:51
Hi Simon, Hope all is well with you. My brother won DV 2021 and he is about to fill the DS-260 form this week.
He went to vocational school and graduate with IT certificate and has a job for more than 5 years and now continue his education to get a diploma degree that will take a while to finish.
So,
1. Should he enter diploma degree in the form before he has the degree on his hand? if he does, what will happen if they schedule him for interview before he has finishes the school?
Thank you!
September 23, 2020 at 23:51
He should list all the education he has from age 12 upwards. If he has not finished yet, that is OK as long as he meets the level of US High school graduate (the point at which a person can enter university).
September 23, 2020 at 23:03
Hi Simon
I would like to know, i wish to play the DV 2022 with my girl friend separately to increase our chances of winning. My girlfriend doesn’t have a passport but i do and we’ve got two kids and we are leaving together. We are planning to get marry but due to financial problems we have postponed it. My question is: can she play as principal and i and the kids as derivatives even though she hasn’t got a passport then i come i to play as principal and she and the kids as derivatives?
My name is Roland
September 24, 2020 at 03:05
She cannot enter without a passport. Each one that enters must list their children.
September 23, 2020 at 23:59
Hi brit, I’m dv winer 2020 case Af xxx68xxx I submitted my documents and I was to wait for a notification in my email for whether I will be called for an interview or not but till today I have received no information.
September 24, 2020 at 02:56
OK – well you are probably too late. The only thing you can hope for is an extension. Read the recent articles to make sure you know what is going on!
September 24, 2020 at 10:36
Does it mean that my documents were not processed or what went wrong?because I don’t understand the meaning of that word “too late of which I send all my documents on the 18th January 2020.
September 24, 2020 at 18:52
I say “too late” meaning now. Not January.
Like I said – extension.
September 24, 2020 at 02:11
Hi Brit,
I made a mistake while filling in my father’s date of birth in my DS260.
My question is: can I unlock my DS260 to rectify this error?
September 24, 2020 at 03:03

September 24, 2020 at 02:15

September 24, 2020 at 03:04
No – the order is specific to DV2020

Hi simon, I am dv 2020 winner and got visa lately. This success is basically due to you and group of lawers. Heartful thanks to you. Since the pp is in still action so we can not travel until dec31. There is possibility of extention of that ban. Its not sure that we will arrive in Us. And Now the entrance of dv2022 is opening soon. Can I fill it again? Will it make any impacts on my visa in future?

Yes you can enter, no problem. But I think you’ll be OK…

Thank you very much on all of your help.
My son and I had an interview on September 14, and submitted our medical yesterday. It said issued yesterday, and we received our passport with visa on them.
Hope proclamation 10014 won’t be extended.
Again, thank you very much for your help.

I don’t know legal procedures in your country, so I don’t know what would be required. But I don’t see a problem if you have all the normal documents.

HI Brit,
i am Derick from Cameroon, i did my visas interview in Bahrain last week Wednesday 16/09/2020. I was told congratulations by the CO and that my visas will be ready by this week but today is the 24th and i still haven’t received the email telling me to come pick up my passport with visas. i went to check on the CEAC status check and found out that my visas is under administrative processing.
i don’t know that means exactly and i will like to find out how to proceed as time is of essence now.
Thanks

Hi, this may sound as an offtopic in this situation but I need to ask. Is it a problem to enter dates in DS260 when I physically attended school, or is it necessary to put official admission and finish dates? I entered dates of physical attendance because this is what I remember, only recently I found out that official dates are different and I don’t want to unlock DS260 for that. Thank you.

Just for clarification, dates are not written on the school certificate.

Doesn’t matter.

Hi Britsimon,
I am a 2021 selectee from Iran and my case number just under AS3500. As I mentioned before my husband and I have been living in Turkey for the last 6 years but we still don’t have a Turkish passport. Before being selected in DV lottery our plan was to go to Canada for studying purposes and that is still our plan B. In one of your videos you mentioned something about Iranian selectees might still have a chance to get visa if they were to have their interviews in Canada. Can you please elaborate on that? Would that work for somewhere who is in Canada with a student visa? Because there’s a huge chance that we can be in Canada by the Spring of 2021 and have our DV lottery interview there.
Thank you for your continuous support

People LIVING in Canada had some exception. However, if Trump loses then Biden will probably revoke these bans. Wait for the election.
