Hello Brit,
Can I please have your support on the following Qs as a DV2021 Winner; Case no. is EU27k I have submitted the DS260, waiting for the 2NL.
1. I have already started to prepare my civil docs as they are valid upon 12 months prior to the interview I guess that’s correct?
2. Can my sponsor also fill the I-134 now or should we wait until I receive the emails/interview scheduling?
3. I entered as single and I plan to get married on March. If I have been scheduled an interview by then how should I notify the local embassy about the status change to include my husband in the process ?
4. Will he need a sponsor too or just I as the main applicant?
Thank you for your time.
November 10, 2020 at 18:43
1. Yes
2. Wait until you get the 2NL (appointment for interview)
3. You should get married sooner! But read the FAQ
4. It is all under you.

Hi Edit,
Sorry, I’m also DS2021 EU27k winner and also have submitted DS260 few months ago, but didn’t receive a letter to send documents. I thought it was freezed for now (plus our number 27k is mid range as much as I understand)
Can you please tell me if you’ve received the letter to provide documents? Because from your message (if you’re waiting for 2NL) I understood that you did…
Thanks!
November 16, 2020 at 10:42
Hi Tigran,
No I have just submitted DS260 in June and have not received any additional email from KCC, regardless Im preparing in advance the civil docs they might ask on 2NL.
Welcome! ๐

Hi Brit
I’m a 2020 DV selectee and was scheduled for an interview in april, but covid changed everything. Can i apply in the DV2022 lottery, since i’m married now and will it affect my chances of being scheduled for a new interview?
November 10, 2020 at 18:44
No harm or impact by applying for DV2022 – but the entry period just ended today.
November 10, 2020 at 13:07
Hi Simon,
My Case Number is AF39131 for 2021, would you say I stand a chance to get a visa number. If not, can I enter again for 2022? I submitted my DS260 early June and still haven’t gotten anything from KCC.
Thanks in advance.
November 10, 2020 at 18:46
DV2022 entry period ended today.
Your number is not bad – you just need to be patient.
November 10, 2020 at 13:56
Hi dear BritSimon! I hope you are well
what do you think about case number AF46k that it will come to current or not? considering the Muslim ban is over and the interview will start on January
Thank you!
November 10, 2020 at 18:47
Wait and see.
November 10, 2020 at 14:26
Hi brit, thanks for the updates. U are doing a good job. i am a dv 2021 winner in the africa region with case number AF68รรร. Is there a chance for me to get scheduled for am interview in the fiscal year? I sent my ds 260 2 months ago but no feedback to upload documents. Is that normal?
.
November 10, 2020 at 19:02
You have a long time to wait. It will be months before we know whether you have a chance or not. There is no point in stressing out about whether you have feedback or not.
November 10, 2020 at 15:34
Hello,
I am Iranian lottery’s winner of 2021, my case no. is around 12000, before presidential election ,I was suggested :
That my wife get F1 visa (for short english course in US) so she could be in US at the time of my interview ,so I can get over the Trump’s ban. Now Biden is elected and the Trump’s ban will be over soon or later.
What is your suggestion ?
Is it good to continue the plan of F1 visa or is it unnecessary risk?
At the time I am writing to you the Ankara embassy is close for Iranian lottery’s interviews or any other interviews.
November 10, 2020 at 19:03
It’s all speculation at the moment. I’m 99% sure that Biden will remove the racially biased bans (such as Travel Ban 3.0), but we obviously don’t know what else he might consider necessary.
November 10, 2020 at 17:37
Hello mr Brit Simon,
I am a dv2021 winner case number EU1500
Is that a good case number? Will my case number risk since Biden won the election?
November 10, 2020 at 18:32
Seriously!!? Really.
EU 1,500?!
November 10, 2020 at 19:04
It’s a low number.
November 10, 2020 at 20:37
15000 sorry. i wrong to write. do i risk with my case number or should i be okey?
November 10, 2020 at 20:51
Still not a bad number.
November 10, 2020 at 18:14
Hello Simon,
I am a DV2021 winner (number EU47XX) and I have a question on what to do next. I filled the DS-260, got an email to send the documents, I sent the documents and received an email back stating:
“Documents Received
Congratulations! Our records indicate that you have submitted all documentation required by the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.
Interviews for the DV 2020 program are currently suspended. You can find out more about this suspension at travel.state.gov. All DV 2021 interviews must be concluded by September 30, 2021. Please refer to the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email listed on your DS-260 to check dvlottery.state.gov.
If your case becomes current and you have not received notification to check dvlottery.state.gov, please contact [email protected] to confirm all of your documents have been received, and you are ready to be scheduled for an interview.”
My question is regarding my number that is current (according to the VB) and the last paragraph saying that I should contact them if I don’t receive an interview date… How long should I wait before contacting KCC since my number is current at the moment?
Thank you in advance, and have a nice day.
November 10, 2020 at 19:22
Interviews are not being scheduled yet. You don’t need to do anything. Just wait.
November 11, 2020 at 10:32
Hello Simon this is the message I get from the embassy in my country after sending them lot of messages. What this mean plz ?
Mr. Ledpolu,
We have been answering the same questions over and over. The last time we answered it was on Oct 22, 2020. If something changes we will inform the DV applicants in our website.
Unfortunately, we are not able to answer so many messages asking the same question. Please keep checking our website for the latest information.
November 11, 2020 at 15:50
It means they are sick and tired of you sending them the same messages over and over again. STOP DOING THAT!!!!
November 13, 2020 at 19:05
Hello Gorjan,
Just want to know when you got ready for interview mail from kcc. Was it within six weeks of document submission. ?
November 10, 2020 at 20:15
Hi BritSimon!!
I have a couple of things I really need advice with:
1)
I am not sure what to respond in the SSN section. In 2013 I did an exchange program as a nanny and the agency I was with managed everything and got me a SSN card as I was working with the host families. What should I answer to this question “Have your ever applier for a SSN number” – YES or NO?
Also, what should I respond in the following question: “Do you want the Social Security Administration to issue a SSN and a card?” – YES or NO?
I assume in the 3rd question I should respond YES.
2)
My case number is between 20000 and 22000 – that is a high number. Would you recommend me to apply to the DV2022?
I look forward to your answers.
Thanks ahead and I appreciate the amazing job you’re doing here.
Gala.
November 10, 2020 at 20:24
1. YES, NO.
2. Too late.
November 11, 2020 at 16:04
Hi Simon,
In connection to this comment / question.
I also have a SSN and a card on which it’s printed “Valid to work only with DHS authorization”.
In this case, why don’t we answer “Yes” on this question in order to get a new card without this notice. Could answering “Yes” lead to a disqualification?
November 11, 2020 at 17:18
You keep the same number. If you want a new card printed, you go to the SSA office once in the USA.
November 10, 2020 at 20:26
Hi Brit, gud that Biden won fr GC winners, but again removing Muslim ban will impact non Muslim countries.. So I need to know even if they remove d ban fr IRan, will they issue visa fr them lik other countries or still go through specific back grind checks??? And it will take a long time fr then to gt visa?
November 10, 2020 at 20:50
Prior to the ban, Iranians tended to get long periods of AP (4+ months) so that will slow down issuances, BUT we have to wait and see what that means for AS.
November 10, 2020 at 23:36
Thanks fr quick reply Brit.. all we can pray now is sending 2NL in November n Biden delaying removal of Muslim ban…
November 11, 2020 at 03:41
Well to be clear, the Muslim ban is unjust, so if it means that people ahead of you take all the visas, then at least you can agree that would be the correct outcome.
November 11, 2020 at 12:03
Why delay the removal of muslim ban. I have a high case number, and I am not from a banned country but I hope that Biden remove it the first day in the office. Don’t be selfish because you have a high case number. Good luck for everyone.
November 10, 2020 at 22:16
Hi Simon,
Iโm a DV2020 winner and itโs hard to keep on track with the current things happening. Would you mind giving an update on the overall situation and include Curtis Morrisonโs and the AILAs updates? Iโm really sad ๐
November 11, 2020 at 03:39
Sure.
Anything else you need me to do for you, cup of tea, slippers…
November 11, 2020 at 18:57
Simon, was this comment necessary? I politely requested a blog post on the current situation for DV2020 winners and itโs not an unusual request because you did a ton of blog posts on the current situation in the past. Itโs easier for me to understand if someone rephrases complicated law-specific topics and thatโs why I politely asked you. I understand that you get pissed if people ask questions without reading the material provided on this platform but what I donโt understand is that you have this very rude way of answering comments for simple requests. You simply couldโve said โnoโ. I would like to understand why youโre sometimes acting so condescending. Yes, you provide a lot of very helpful material on this platform but youโre also benefiting from the tons of users coming to this platform and watching your videos.
November 11, 2020 at 19:39
I would argue more benefit from HIM, than him benefiting from THEM
That’s what I would argue but your point is understood other than this
Admittedly I smiled when I saw this response – take it in the humour it may have been intended in too!
I don’t think it was meant to cause hurt but maybe put a smile on to anyone too, but you did make some valid points
November 11, 2020 at 19:44
I also think people do take this guy for granted – Honestly ! And to be fair, I dont know he helps as much as he does ! I struggle keeping up with just the feed – imagining reading and answering each one – I would argue 7 out 10 are UNNECESSARY QUESTIONS AND A WASTE OF HIS TIME
Sure his VERY HELPFUL AND EXCELLENT – but I think people he cant be everyone’s dogsbody – He is providing a free helpline and you cant ask someone to provide too much information
November 11, 2020 at 20:20
Seriously? You basically said you cant be bothered to read or watch the many explanations i have created, and to top it off you specified what I should include, like you were ordering a meal? Come on. That is clearly disrespectful and lazy. So yes, you needed a wake up.
And now instead of reflecting on how you might have come across you choose to waste more of your time and mine to chastise me? Get a grip.
November 11, 2020 at 20:50
Again, I asked for an update on the *latest* developments and there are no blog posts on that. I asked you because youโre the owner of a blog that literally DEALS with this topic and that makes money with providing information about this topic (Key word AdSense). You COOPERATED with AILA and thatโs why I asked you for an update. If you didnโt like my request you simply couldโve said no. I think you should start reflecting, Simon because there was no rudeness in my request.
November 11, 2020 at 23:03
Too much nonsense in there to address. I made my thoughts clear. Feel free to use the info I provide, or not.
November 11, 2020 at 20:53
And you might want to tell me how I couldโve come across to get a positive answer of yours? Please keep in mind, that not all of us speak English as their first language and I think the formulation of my first post was as friendly as possible. I would be really interested in hearing your expectations on that because no matter how friendly people ask you here in the comment section, most of the times your responses are not the friendliest.
November 11, 2020 at 22:25
This guy is shocking
And disrespectul
One of the worst responses on this blog
And i am a LONG TIME subscriber and follower !
His response has taken me aback
Why do you put yourself through this Simon
I guess Trump isnt a “one off”
November 11, 2020 at 23:14
Some people think the world owes them everything.
November 11, 2020 at 22:44
Shocking / Speechless !
Irrespective of whether there is any benefit from the site……..the service to you is free and helpful and not a mandatory service. You choose to come here and seek help and there is no obligation to help you. No one has an obligation to go to extremes to give you something/
No one has to go out of the way to customize a reply for your whether it is bespoke or not, when you have not paid for it in any way and you are the one needing help. The information is there if you seek it and you are the one in need of it
Btw in the USA, nothing is free whatsoever, and clearly the US is not a place for anyone who sincerely believes you can demand things that you are being provided for gratis!
Unbelievable

November 11, 2020 at 03:07
Hi BritSimon,
How Am I suppose to choose between work and experience when filling the form? Itโs mandatory to enter the latest job position, the previous one and so on. In my case, I have filled in with my current job position, then I have entered the previous job position stating it didnโt required 2 years of previous training (but this opens up to enter more work experiences). Should I leave it just like that or should I enter NO to the question โwhere you previously employedโ to jump into the Education section? I want to go 100% through the education route.
I donโt know if itโs an strategy limiting the info in the โworkโ section to emphasize on the โeducationโ section. Please advise…I find it tricky.
Please let me know if I am completing it correctly or if not, what should I do.
Thanks so much,
Gala.
November 11, 2020 at 03:43
You answer all the questions completely. The decision of how you meet the requirement is not yours to make.
November 11, 2020 at 05:06
Hi Britsimon I have a friend that was born in an eligible country but her parents are from ineligible country so can she be disqualified
November 11, 2020 at 15:42
Not as long as she listed her country of birth correctly.
November 11, 2020 at 05:34
Hi Britt,
I hope you are doing well.
My case number is 2021AS65XX. I have heard many people with the same range of case numbers have already got email from KCC to send further documents and in my case I have not received any. My main query is does that mean I am not selected further? Also, my permanent residency is in a different nation in Asia and I am currently in a different nation. Does this also creates the process to be delay? I am just worried a lot regarding hear the updates from my fellow same case numbers. Hence, can you please advise me regarding this? Also, what is the maximum time that KCC takes to send the email for additional documents?
Thanks and have a good day ahead.
November 11, 2020 at 15:43
It doesn’t mean that at all. You just need to be patient.
November 11, 2020 at 19:59
hi Aacic, when did you submit DS 260 n you from which country?
November 11, 2020 at 07:08
Hi BritSimon! I win the DV2020-2021.My cn is EU29xxx.Do i have a chance for the interview?
November 11, 2020 at 15:43
Maybe. I can’t predict precisely.
November 11, 2020 at 08:21
Hello Brit!
1. Does the authority check the photo requirements of DV applicants prior to random selection? Or, they disqualify them after the interview? ??
I should’ve asked this question a bit earlier I guess! ??
2. If it’s checked during the interviews, how often do they deny the visa?
November 11, 2020 at 15:44
1. It is possible to deny cases at interview based on photos.
2. It’s rare to hear of denials for photos.
November 11, 2020 at 09:20
Hello!
Thanks to your videos, I was able to apply for the DVlottery 2022 but I encountered a technical error. The first time my session timed out while I was editing my photo but the second time I was able to continue to the next page after trying multiple times. Unfortunately, when I reached the final page and clicked on submit my browser didn’t connect and it said “The site can’t be reached” and no matter how many times I refreshed it didn’t work so I closed the tab and I redid everything. This time my browser connected and I reached the confirmation page where I got my confirmation number.
Now I’m worried about whether my first entry went through or not. Because I know that if it went through, I would’ve submitted multiple entries which would get my disqualified. I didn’t see confirmation or anything but I did click submit, it just didn’t connect. What are the odds that I’ll be disqualified because of that. I really should’ve stopped all downloads before submitting. It just didn’t cross my mind how bad internet can lead to multiple entries.
Thank you! ๐
November 11, 2020 at 15:48
You have only entered once you get the confirmation number. So – if you saw that, you were entered, otherwise not.
November 11, 2020 at 11:14
HI Brit!
:
DS-260

2. I’m still in university, so should i need to include that?
3. what grade do secondary school start in America?
:
Thanks Sir!??
November 11, 2020 at 15:53
1. Yes (around age 12 and up)
2. THat is your current occupation.
3. See 1.
November 11, 2020 at 11:48
Hi Sir, what’s the validity period for 1-134?
November 11, 2020 at 15:54
Don’t get it until you get the 2NL – the supporting documents should be recent.
November 11, 2020 at 16:09
ok sir,
thanks for your time
November 11, 2020 at 12:43
Hello Brit! My case number AF4*** And ds260 submitted on September 28 .

November 11, 2020 at 15:54
I don’t know. Wait and see.
November 11, 2020 at 13:00
Hello and thanks for all your work again.
My number is AS-13,XXX
I submitted my DS-260 form around 1 month ago but I haven’t heard anything yet.
1. Should I submit my documents (police certificate etc.) without waiting for anything or should I wait for their email?
2. So far in the process I haven’t received a single email from them, is that normal?
Thanks!
November 11, 2020 at 17:02
1. Wait.
2. Yes.
November 11, 2020 at 14:32
Good evening sir . Dv2022 Is finished yesterday, I would like to know if those who play in family, their draw is apart.
November 11, 2020 at 17:06
I don’t understand your question.
November 11, 2020 at 14:34
Hello Simon
let’s say my flight is on 1/1/2021 Amman,Jordan-dallas,Texas. And there is a stop in Chicago airport, should i provide my documents (yellow folder) at the first stop (Chicago airport)?, I’m worried that if i do this the process will take time so I won’t make it to my next flight.
November 11, 2020 at 17:07
You will be processed at the first stop in the USA. So – you should allow 3 to 4 hours between flights.
November 11, 2020 at 15:18
Hello Brit
I have few questions regarding court and prison certificates
1) should we submit only for principal applicant or all derivative?
2) to obtain the police certificate in UAE we must submit a letter from the requesting authority, is that KCC or the US embassy?
3) the police certificate in UAE is only valid for 3 months so should we also resend a new one when this is expired??
My case number is AS11xxx
November 11, 2020 at 17:14
You MUST read the instructions. Once you do, questions 1 and 2 will be unnecessary.
3. No – it will be accepted up to 12 months old.
November 15, 2020 at 16:20
I read them carefully but for police and court records they only mention (YOU) as in you should submit your police certificate, but in birth certificate for example they say you and your family thatโs why i wanted to make sure ..
November 15, 2020 at 17:05
The instructions are very clear.
November 11, 2020 at 15:40
Hello Brit,
Need your guidance:
French citizen is in USA on E-2 visa.

Will use 60 days grace period to stay in US.
Question:
Is he still eligible to apply for adjustment of status within those 60 days?
Can he submit his adj. of status application before his number appears in section C of Visa bulletin? If yes, how early?
Thank you very much.
Julia
November 11, 2020 at 17:16
1. I don’t know.
2. No.
November 11, 2020 at 21:21
Thanks!
My admirations for giving so much of your time for free to people!
November 11, 2020 at 17:49
Hi Brit,
Am a dv 2021, AF5k and current, now i am about to give birth in this december, my question is, once the baby is with us, with the passport and birth certificate
1. By unlocking the ds 260, and adding the baby, we will send the supporting docs at the same time after sending those ds 260 or we will have to wait for the email requesting those additional documents?
2. For how long they process the documents of new born, as others documents sent before were processed?
Thank you
November 11, 2020 at 20:24
1. Once the baby is born you will add the child to your case (read the FAQ). You should then set a complete set of docs for the whole family.
2. It won’t take long, but will depend on their workload.
November 11, 2020 at 20:43
Dear Simon
I received an email asking for additional documents, However they did not say which additional documents they need!!
I submitted all the documents they mentioned in the list including ,Police cert, marriage cert, divorce cert and Birth cert.
should I send them an email? or what should i do to find out which document is missing?
thanks
November 11, 2020 at 20:46
also passport BIO page I submitted(forgo o mention in the previous post)
November 11, 2020 at 23:00
Start by looking at what you sent. Maybe you’ll figure it out. Otherwise you can call them, but they rarely give precise detail of what is missing.
November 11, 2020 at 21:41
HI bRIT, Iam a winner of asia region and I checked we have 32 countries with in the region. So does all these countries get a portion of low case nos? ( let say case no’s below AS 8,000).. Or is there any countries which has only high case numbers??
November 11, 2020 at 23:04
The draw is random, so all countries start with low numbers, but watch my videos or read my holes article to understand better.
November 11, 2020 at 23:17
thanks dearest Brit, I saw a guy has accused u for the way you have answered his question ( reagarding some updates about law suites).. honestly u are doing a great help for us…but some ppl take it for granted n do not respect u… Feel so pathetic.. We always appreciate ur help n knowledge.
November 11, 2020 at 23:19
Thanks. But don’t worry, I have six grandkids. I’m used to dealing with babies.

November 11, 2020 at 21:54
Dear Sir,
My wife is a winner of DV 2021 lottery
We finished and closed our ds 260 in July 2021 and received our confirmation number
In September 2021 my wife became pregnant, the expected date of delivery in April 2022 .
So please tell me what to do in this case?
Should i inform KCC about the pregnancy?
Or i wait till the delivery of the baby.
Please answer me ASAP
Thanks.
November 11, 2020 at 23:09
There’s nothing to do until the baby is born. Depending on timing and your case number, there are different methods to add the child to the case. Read the FAQ for more information.
November 12, 2020 at 06:20
How can your wife become pregnant in 2021 when we are in 2020? And how can she give birth 2 years from now? Did you mean she fell pregnant in sep 2020 this year?
November 12, 2020 at 06:53
sorry i wrote the year wrong , we know about pregnancy in September 2020 and the expected date of delivery in April 2021
November 12, 2020 at 06:54
And we finished the ds 260 in July 2020

Hi Brit. I have been got my an offer letter for distance learning for my Masters from a prestigious university just today. I have submitted my relevant documents 6-7 weeks before. Do I need to update my DS form about it? My Master will start from Late November or from the coming January.
November 12, 2020 at 01:25
No need
November 12, 2020 at 02:45
Good morning Simon. Just love your blog! I have applied for the 2022 lottery and holding thumbs. Quick question for you….my sister is an American citizen living permanently in the US. Is it possible for me to ask her to sponsor me under family category F4 even if they say it takes many years for siblings to get a green card? I am South African by birth. Maybe I would stand a greater chance? Any thoughts and ideas from your side would be highly appreciated! ๐
November 12, 2020 at 16:01
There is no advantage or disadvantage to the DV selection chances or process by having an F4 case running at the same time.
November 12, 2020 at 08:03

Hi Simon,
I m a DV 2021 winner and I have 2 questions :
– my CN is EU181XX… is it a good number for Europe ?
– One month ago, the KCC asked me to send my documents (I did it, of course) and my question is : I ve seen many winners of Europe with a lower CN than mine and the KCC didn t ask them to send their documents. What does it means ? what s the criterias of the KCC for asking documents to one people and not to others, even if they have a lower CN ?
Thanks for your anwer and the time you spend helping us
November 12, 2020 at 16:10
1. It’s fine
2. Processing time varies, their workload varies, their available resource varies.
November 12, 2020 at 12:20
Hi Brit,
Many thanks for your valuable time & effort! Submitted my DS-260 and required documents to KCC on Sept 2020. I know it will delay my case if I marry and get the necessary documents for submission to KCC at this time. Will it be possible for me to bring my future wife after receiving my green card in USA? Would my wife’s application for moving to the USA be rejected? Thanks for your response.
November 12, 2020 at 16:15
That is a very silly conclusion. If you plan to marry – marry now. DV is faster, simpler, cheaper. First of all, consider your case number.
If you are determined to do things the complicated way, yes you could file a family based case once you are in the USA, but you would be apart for 2 years.
November 12, 2020 at 12:53
Dear Mr Simons,
I am winner of DV 2021, case number 1***, DS 260 completed end of June and confirmation of documents received by end of July. I think I have made some mistakes in the DS260 such as:
1. I have included the university details and not the High School details;
2. I have not included 1 work experience and work email address, which has been used only for work purposes.
Do you think that I should unlock the DS and make the changes?
it is better if I unlock it now, due to the fact that the interviews will not start before January 21 or I can unlock after I receive my 2NL?
Thank you very much for your reply.
November 12, 2020 at 16:16
You can unlock and correct that without delay.
November 12, 2020 at 15:28
Hello Mr Brit, when I applied for the dv lottery I also included my son who at the time was 21 years and 6 months, the system accepted my son’s date of birth.. I also included him on the ds260.. can he come with me at this point or I shouldn’t had included him? If he can’t win, does that cause problems or disqualification for my case? Thank you!
November 12, 2020 at 16:18
Your statement is odd because the system is designed to calculate the age and not allow entries with kids over 21. So – that suggests you changed the birthdate.
He will not get a visa. H should be listed on your DS260, but should not have a DS260 for himself.
November 12, 2020 at 21:52
I did Not change his date of birth, and yes the system may be designed to calculate the age but in my case the system accepted the date month and year, when I put another birth year the system did not allow me, its strange yeah, but as long as the system didn’t stop me I added him .. furthermore there was a ds260 for him which I completed.. how is that possible?
November 13, 2020 at 01:06
The DS260 system is not designed to stop entries for people over 21. But the bottomline is, you cannot get a GC for him through DV.
November 12, 2020 at 17:49
Hi sir, is there any problem if someone else than your host give you an affidavit of support?
November 12, 2020 at 20:52
No
November 12, 2020 at 18:41
hi Brit
I intend to submit my DS 260 very soon but Iam currently 4 months pregnant. This means that the birth will take place in april 2021.What to do.
November 12, 2020 at 20:53
The pregnancy doesn’t change your process, only the birth will do that. So – read the FAQ to see how you will add the newborn to the case later.
November 12, 2020 at 19:28
Hi brit, what do you have to say about those with visas? Is it safe to book a flight early jan? Thanks
November 12, 2020 at 20:55
Personally I would wait for a while before booking. Let’s see if Trump extends the ban.
November 13, 2020 at 04:23
Thanks brit for the advice
November 12, 2020 at 20:06
Dear Brit can you explain this
https://www.theweek.in/news/world/2020/11/12/covid-19-biden-adviser-bats-for-national-lockdown-in-us-for-4-6-weeks.html
I have visa with annotation, expiring on March 20. And I am worried about that news.
Can you say what will really happen?
November 12, 2020 at 20:56
The lockdown they refer to in that article is a lockdown *inside* the USA meaning businesses etc here. It doesn’t directly refer to immigration/travel.
Obviously, I cannot say what will happen. Only time will tell.
November 12, 2020 at 21:05
Hello Brit,
Thank you for your knowledge.
1. I am wondering if it will be a problem because when we saw that my girlfriend got selected after careful consideration we decided to step into marriage so we can try to build our live overseas. But because we do not have pictures of us on our social media (because we were keeping it a bit low key) will that be a problem ? We do have documentation, chats, calls, pictures of us all kinds of records, just the social media is empty on that question. Will that be a somewhat problem for the proof of relationship?
2. EU20xxxx? what are your predictions for interview?
dv2020
THANK YOU SO MUCH !
November 13, 2020 at 01:04
1. With all that you have I am sure you will be OK.
2. I’m not predicting – because there are too many variables at the moment.
November 12, 2020 at 22:36
Hello Dear Brit,
I am a DV2021 winner with a 50k case number. I am about to complete the Ds260. Do I absolutely have to inform the DS in English or can I do it in French too?
Ps: I come from a French speaking country.
Thanks for your reply dear Brit!
November 13, 2020 at 01:06
Of course you have to do it in English.
November 12, 2020 at 23:53
Hi Brit, Can i have ur email address? I have some important data about case nos to share with u? Im from an asian country and we have a group.. so our case no’s will give u a better idea. will email u our case no’s
November 13, 2020 at 01:08
britsimon3 at gmail
November 14, 2020 at 02:23
I already sent u an email… please check n let me kw whether u got it? Because i get error msges by saying email address is not correct.
November 14, 2020 at 03:27
I got it. It shows a pretty normal distribution of case numbers over the whole range. There a slightly low number of cases below 10XXX, but given the size of the dataset, it’s not possible to deduce anything from that, and there is no technical reason why the cases would be restricted under 10k.
November 13, 2020 at 00:55
Dear Brit, is 2021 DV selectee has a big chance to be disqualified at the interview or before, if he used 10 months old picture for his 2021 lottery entry? (The same picture, which was used for USA visa 10 months before entering the lottery).
I know! It is was so avoidable!!!
Thank you for your time.
November 13, 2020 at 01:58
Totally avoidable, BUT it is extremely rare to hear of a disqualification for that reason.
November 13, 2020 at 01:01
Hi Brit,
Do you have any information regarding documents received conformation in AS region?
Regards,
November 13, 2020 at 01:58
What information?
November 13, 2020 at 03:15
I mean documents received conformation latest CN in AS region
November 13, 2020 at 18:27
The processing is not always by case number so the question is not logical.
November 13, 2020 at 01:35
Hi BritSimon!
Is there any way I can add Additional Education such as English courses (like TOEFL for example) in the DS-260? Or I should put general Education like High School, Bachelor’s Degree and University Degree?
I was studying English in the US and I thought it would be good to add it in the Education section. Please advice on this, it would be appreciated ๐
Thanks,
Gala.
November 13, 2020 at 01:59
They are really most concerned about main formal education. So – listing additional courses is not necessary.
November 13, 2020 at 02:02
Great, thank you!
November 13, 2020 at 05:15
Dear Simon, can I wait as late as March 2020 to submit my DS260? My case number is: 2021AF48XXX. It is just more convenient for me to submit in March. Thanks
November 13, 2020 at 18:30
Yes no problem.
November 13, 2020 at 07:19
Hello sir,
I’m 2021 winner. I filed my DS260 back in July 20th but I haven’t received any mail from them asking documents. My consultancy says that its OK if we sent those documents now without receiving such mail from them! Can I send them my documents cos now its already November and my case number is 91** from Nepal which is pretty high. Please suggest me. Do I still wait for the mail?
Thanks in advance!
November 13, 2020 at 18:37
You know your case number is high for Nepal. That means you would not normally be interviewed before August/September of next year. So why are you worried about getting the document email now??? You have MONTHS to wait for interview anyway.
November 13, 2020 at 09:18
Hello, thanks for your help and page. ๐
I entered the 2022 DV Lottery.
If you get through to the application stage how long after you submit your DS260 do you get an Embassy appointment?
Is there a problem with me being in the US and attending the interview in Kentucky [I’m Oceania]
Do you know if the wait time for an interview is longer in Kentucky than Sydney Australia?
Thanks again.
November 13, 2020 at 18:41
You entered a lottery. Seeking advice on that now is like speaking to an accountant because you bought a lotto ticket. Wait and see if you are selected then there is PLENTY of time for questions then…
November 14, 2020 at 05:39
Thanks for taking time to answer Brit. We are planning on being in the US April- July 2021, I’m trying to think ahead as if we did by some miracle get selected we would find out in May and have to figure out what to do from there ๐ Our Embassy for interviews is on the other side of Australia.
Also- hypothetically, if Trump manages to stay President does that have any effect on the DV Lottery?
November 14, 2020 at 15:50
You could not start your process next summer even if selected. So – you may be in the USA when you get the results, but you will still return home to process.
Trump is gone on Jan 20. There is zero doubt about that.
November 13, 2020 at 10:17
After you get selected, do you need to have a host in America or an address when you fill out the DS260 Form?
November 13, 2020 at 18:42
Yes
