Good morning Sir , 2021AS110XX
I submitted my DS260 and i sent all the required documents as per KCC request for 5 months (after receiving the email of requirement documents) till now i have not received the confirmation email of the satisfaction documents , i revised many times all the documents that were sent with every detail to avoid any mistake . i sent at different times emails asking about this as usual the same generic responses (allow some times to process your documents and ………………) and as we noticed the last visa bulletin for ASIA reached 9000 so i expect to see my case number becomes current in the next visa bulletin .
1- Sir Based on your experience could it happen that KCC sends the 2nl (appointments for interview) without sending the confirmation email on documents?
2- will it affect negatively if i send emails to KCC again and again asking about the satisfaction of my documents?
3- Do you think that KCC will resume to answer on the phone?
4- is it useful to ask the us embassy in my country about this?
5- Do you suggest any other means we should follow to get what we want about this?
Thank you Sir for every moment you have been spending on helping us .

I’d like to know about this as well since I’m in the same situation (sent my documents months ago, still no news).

1. Possible, not likely.
2. No
3. Maybe.
4. No
5. No. Just be a little more patient.

In DV lottery around 55,000 are selected as winners in every year,
This total is only number of principal applicant
or
Count of the both principal applicants and their family members (derivatives)
March 3, 2021 at 09:55
hi channa
the answer is (Count of the both principal applicants and their family members (derivatives)
March 3, 2021 at 15:21
The 55000 is the maximum number of visas that can be issued every year. Usually there are more than 55000 selectees every year (in case some of the selectees miss on their visas for whatever reason).
March 3, 2021 at 23:45
Includes derivatives.

Hello Mr. Britt, I have a few questions 1) why is the government constantly delaying the issuance of 9095 visas, and now they have asked for 21 days to extend it? 2) And do you think Judge Mehta will give priority to the plaintiffs? Thank you in advance
March 3, 2021 at 23:46
I don’t know – wait and see.
March 3, 2021 at 10:06
Thank you for submitting your Diversity Visa (DV) documents to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC). After reviewing your documents, KCC has determined that additional documentation that you have met the passport requirement, or an exemption to that requirement, is needed. Please review the information below and submit all requested documentation
sir i got this mail from kcc what i have to do?
March 3, 2021 at 23:49
So – did you apply without providing a passport? Did you claim you were exempt? If so, why?
March 4, 2021 at 11:14
What is approximately your case number
March 3, 2021 at 10:19
Hi Simon,
21AS38XX
Assuming no interviews will happen in April since no one received 2NL on the last day of Feb, when do you think they’ll start sending 2NLs in March for May interviews?
Regards
March 3, 2021 at 14:21
Another question also:
The person willing to sponsor me knows about sending me payslips (2 week period), but says that the W2 must be requested from the IRS. I told her that the W2 is supposed to be the 1 page document stating all information about the previous fiscal year 2020 and is downloadable from the company website. She says that’s there but she is working 2 jobs so IRS will provide a comprehensive W2 that involves all information about all jobs.
I am confused as to which W2 exactly she needs to send. Please, make it clear to me the exact steps/option to acquire a W2 as I’ve never been in the US before.
Regards
March 3, 2021 at 23:52
What she is saying is nonsense.
March 4, 2021 at 01:05
I kinda figured…in that case, can you tell me the way to obtain the W2 so that I make it clear to her?
Or what I said about the 1 page W2 is enough?
Regards
March 4, 2021 at 18:24
Really, anyone in the USDA would know.
March 3, 2021 at 23:49
After the VB.
March 3, 2021 at 14:47
Simon, How many days will it take kcc to review my ds260 derivative? I tried to add my 1 month old daughter 2 days ago and its still saying under review! Plz help
March 3, 2021 at 23:52
I don’t know what you mean by being under review.
March 3, 2021 at 14:53
Hi Brit, about my concern I took your advice. I had sent my documents on August 28, 2020 to the KCC until this day I have not had a response from them knowing that my number is Current since February 23, 2020 (CN 2021AF19XXX) I have returned the same documents February 25, 2021 then I wrote to them to ask them if they received my documents and if they were satisfied as you had recommended to me. But the KCC responds by saying that they have received my ds260 form and that it was pending processing when the form is processed that they will send me an email to send the documents. I’m confused Brit what does this mean ??? What must I do now?
March 3, 2021 at 23:53
It means they have not finished yet. Wait a few weeks.
March 4, 2021 at 03:32
Please which email did you use to contact KCC
March 3, 2021 at 15:04
Hello Brit,
I only have a photocopy of my birth certificate, and it is so difficult, if not impossible, to get an original one since I have to get from another country. Is it sufficient to provide the photocopy if I can authenticate it and get it stamped?
March 3, 2021 at 15:27
Just to clarify, by photocopy I mean the photo is in black and white.
March 3, 2021 at 23:54
Read the reciprocity page instructions. It might give the procedure there to obtain an official document. Otherwise, use your own judgement.
March 3, 2021 at 17:08
Hello Dear sir,
I am dv lottery 2021 winner from ALGERIA,
Actually I’m resident in france ,with resident permit ,my case number is 2021AF12***, according to the visa bulletin of february is current for march 2021, i shall have an interview at the US embassy in Paris (FRANCE/SCHENGEN AREA)
I received the email from kcc indicating that my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.
knowing that pp10014 is revoked ,but ,because of regional restriction: Schengen, PP10143 ,I Can’t have an interview in paris until the Schengen area ban will be rescinded.
I would like to know if I could transfer my case from Paris to Algiers (ALGERIA), where I’m citizen ,and to be scheduled for an interview in ALGIERS?
I sent the same mail to KCC AND US EMBASSIES (ALGIERS AND PARIS) but no response yet.
My question is how to ask KCC to change the location of interview, please?
What should I do for?
Thank you so much
March 3, 2021 at 17:40
Hello Simon,
As a low case number 2021EU5XX, do you consider to be any benefits to be a plaintiff in any case going on right now like Anunciato with the purpose of have the interview sooner or later?
Thank you, best regards.
March 3, 2021 at 18:54
2021AF44xxx Hi Simon, hope you are well. Just a quick question when will you anticipate Xarthisius updating the DV Ceac stats information? I doubt there will be any changes made now but most like in a months time we should see some change to the data set in terms of scheduling etc. thank you once again for all the insight and updates and extremely grateful to the legal teams for their efforts.
March 4, 2021 at 19:01
He normally scrapes the data at the beginning of each month. I may ask him to do an extra scrape to get the Algerian 2NLs
March 3, 2021 at 20:56
Hi Simon,
I’m a DV2019 winner and live in US about 1.5 years now (which I did with your help).
Before moving to US i used to live in UK, and worked there. Because you are British you possibly know how to move your pension contributions from UK to US.
Every company I am contacting say it is not possible to transfer UK funds to 401k plan here in US.
I have People’s Pension in UK and looking for any way to move my funds to any account here in US.
Any idea how to do it?
March 4, 2021 at 02:58
Dear Brit: Thanks to the support you give us daily and the advice you give us, we were able to complete the DS260 form and send documents. I have already received an email from the KCC that we are ready to schedule an appointment. Everything happened very quickly in less than a week. We are truly amazed. However, I want to know your opinion in relation to two points:
1. We wrote our addresses in the format used in the USA. In my country the addresses are written a little more detailed, for example in the USA the street or avenue and the house number are generally written, in my country the street is written the house number and the streets that limit the street to both sides. For example, it would be Calle XXXX No.324 between XX and XXX and in the US: 324 XXXX Street. Anyway, do you think I should unlock DS260 to write addresses as they are in my country.
2. The online affidavit form has not yet been updated on the edition date. Can I tell my sponsor to fill it out now or do we wait for the form to be updated?
March 4, 2021 at 18:27
1. I would use the US method.
2. Use the version currently published.
March 7, 2021 at 10:03
Hello,
May I ask what case no and region do you have?
And you said it happened in less than a week (DS completion, documents request plus ready for interview email, all in less than a week?).
Many thanks for your eventual answer!
March 4, 2021 at 04:50
Dearest Simon,
Thank you so much for all the awesome work you do on a daily basis. I ardently read your blog every morning with my cuppa
1) I want to transfer all my life savings of about 200k to US after obtaining the visa, please advise how best to minimize the taxation, from your experience.
2) What is the amount that can be in a bank account, exempt from tax?
Thanks again for your invaluable thoughts and perspective on this matter.
March 4, 2021 at 18:29
1. There is no taxation on moving money in. I have a FAQ on moving money – read that.
2. Again, it’s not a matter of money in an account. Tax is paid on EARNED income or some forms of unearned income, like interest on savings.
March 4, 2021 at 06:56
Hey brit
Weird question
Some of my documents have my photo with my Head Scarf (Hijab) on and some documents with my hair
(This is because i recently wear the Hijab) so my old documents (passport /police certificate) are without Hijab on.. but in my Dv application and my new passport i do wear it
Would that cause a problem?
March 4, 2021 at 18:32
Not really – but read the photo instructions carefully.

I lived in California for more than 12 months and I am over 18 years old. Now I live in Luxembourg. Is there a requirement to provide a police certificate from California as part of the DV lottery documentation?
If so, which organization issues police certificates, the Department of Justice?
March 4, 2021 at 18:32
No – police certs for the USA are not required.
March 4, 2021 at 19:20
Thanks for the quick answer, Simon!
You are performing an invaluable service 🙂
March 4, 2021 at 07:43
Hi Simon!
I hope to win the lottery this year! But I have a question about the public charge / financial part.
I worked 2 years for a boss after graduation (2016-2018) since 2018 I have my own business (with a lot of USA customers too) and work full time as entrepreneur. Does being an entrepreneur be good or bad for the public charge/ financial part?
March 4, 2021 at 18:33
It’s not a big problem. But see if you win first.
March 4, 2021 at 09:54
Hi Brit, Please I have one question about the submission of supporting documents. Because each of the documents for the selectee and derivatives is supposed to be named in accordance with who is submitting it, should I submit the marriage certificate for myself and my wife separately or only one for two of us bearing my name? Will any problem be created if I decide to send two using different naming convention?
2. Please do you have any information on exactly when KCC will start issuing 2NL?
March 4, 2021 at 18:37
1. Once, or twice, doesn’t matter.
2. They just issued some today – for Algeria.
March 4, 2021 at 10:41
Hey Brit, it is so heartbreaking for the 30K DV2020 winners whose opportunity was snatched by Trump to see their fellow winners triumph as they mourn…we all know this is a lottery and there’s no guarantee if they reapply again they will win. The best thing is for the court to give them back the months they lost and extend DV2021. How I wish, we too had an opportunity to enter the USA like our fellow DV2020 winners have…how I wish …
March 4, 2021 at 18:38
Let’s see what happens.
March 4, 2021 at 11:16
Hey Brit, is a w2 equivalent to i-134 affidavit form
March 4, 2021 at 18:39
No. The I-134 should be supported by the W2.
March 4, 2021 at 15:18
Many of the winners from Algeria today have received their interview emails starting March 11th
What do you think about that !!!
March 4, 2021 at 15:29
Yes I saw one of them on twitter. The email received looks very odd. So if it is true, it looks like Algiers embassy has asked KCC to send them the cases they have ready – and again – that is not normal, but would be good news if correct.
March 4, 2021 at 18:41
Obviously I have posted a video about this now. It’s great news.
March 5, 2021 at 12:54
Hi Brit,
DV2021
I sent an email to KCC since long time ago my case was ready to schedule with document completion and AF3***. They replied saying that I will be informed of the interview when it is schedule and mentionned that I can no longer change my DS260 and I have to contact the consular office or just wait for the interview if there is any change on my case. So it means that the interview will be made pretty soon right?
March 5, 2021 at 17:30
Yes – if your embassy is open.
March 4, 2021 at 16:17
Hi Simon,
Whilst doing the DS260 I have seen it asks for both parents listed on the birth certificate. I only have one.
I have been searching like crazy to see if there is an exception for this or anyone elses experiences. Have you come across this before and what was the result? I am now concerned my whole application is invalid thru no fault of my own.
Thankyou.
March 4, 2021 at 18:44
The requirement is about the type of birth certificate supplied. It should be the type of birth cert that has space for both parents names. There are obviously cases where the parents are not married where the father will not be listed unless he was at the registration. That is no problem.
March 4, 2021 at 17:15
Hi simon,
Im a dv2021 winner. My CN is AF8k, i filled my ds260 in june (but i unlocked it in October) and submitted my documents probably 6 mouths ago and still didn’t get my confirmation. I email kcc every week and still ending up getting the same response that my ds260 has been processed and i should have received, or will soon receive, an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving me instructions to complete my case. And I was wondering if i should be worried, considering all the numbers below 16k in the region of AF received their confirmation.
Any idea what should i do besides emailing kcc every week?
March 4, 2021 at 18:48
I would check the package of documents to make sure they are complete and then resend the whole package.
March 4, 2021 at 17:25
Brit I have been selected with a 2016 Old photo for DV2021. Do you think that will be a problem at interview ?
March 4, 2021 at 18:48
Possibly.
March 4, 2021 at 17:30
Hello sir and thanks for all the information that you provided.
Im from af Algérie exactly
Case Number AF67XXX
SO MY family name changes in 2011 bit sadly i didn’t mention it so i send request to open my ds-260 to add it
My question
Is it to late to correct it and if it will effect my case
thank you
March 4, 2021 at 18:49
Not too late to correct it, no. Go ahead and unlock.
March 4, 2021 at 17:38
if they give short period for interview, are we have to keep ready of I-134 Prior to 2NL?
March 4, 2021 at 18:52
Do whatever you can.
March 4, 2021 at 17:59
Hello i have a question so i was born in venezuela but my father is italian so I had Italian citizen and I like in Italy so can i apply for dv visa lottery? Thanks
March 4, 2021 at 18:54
You can apply as Venezuelan.
March 4, 2021 at 18:52
I sent a question about the documents to KCC. I got the following response :
(( Thank you for your inquiry.
Your DS-260 has been processed. You should have received, or will soon receive, an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing. Please follow the instructions in the email. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Please refer to the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check ***** ))
But I haven’t received any update on the documents?
is This means that my documents are incomplete, or is it a general response for everyone.
For your information, my file Number AS11 ****, which means that I may be on the list next month?
What do you recommend to do?
March 4, 2021 at 18:59
Wait a couple of weeks then ask again. Double check you sent all your documents correctly.
March 4, 2021 at 18:53
Hi Brit
I have few questions if you can help with that:
– you think after scheduling the first interview KCC back with full capacity in terms of work force?!
– How KCC handle documents?! After they send email requesting the documents, they documents goes to department responsible to review it or it goes to general staff who do everything?!
– Do they handle the cases in numerical order or random?!
– if I have a case number 5000 and other case with 6000 case number and both current, they might process his/her document before my case?!
– if there is something wrong with my documents and I figure out there is a problem after sometime will that affect my application. Other cases will be current after my case number so they will process there cases and come back to my case or they will process mine because my case number lower?!
Thank you very much for your support and help.
March 4, 2021 at 18:58
1. No
2. Two departments, one for the documents, the other does everything else.
3. Sort of numerical where there is a backlog.
4. It’s possible. They won’t keep a higher number waiting while they wait for you.
5. Oh jeez. Just get the documents right.
March 4, 2021 at 19:16
Thank you for your quick reply.
– If they process higher number cases they will be back for lower case later or just they lose their chance?!
– How can I make sure they process my documents after I correct it?! I emailed them but sane response?! I am very worried I might lose my chance because of such issue please take in consideration my case number low ?!
– do you think Hiring a lawyer can help with KCC to review my documents?!
Thank you very much.
March 4, 2021 at 19:20
1. They don’t lose their chance.
2. You might lose your chance if you don’t get your documents successfully submitted. Focus on that – watch my video from a few days ago.
3. No need.
March 4, 2021 at 19:41
I am sorry to keep asking and bothering you but I feel bad and I don’t want to lose this opportunity.
I have corrected the documents and send it 2 weeks ago am current already do you think this will delay my interview?!
Thank you very much
March 4, 2021 at 19:48
Your interview is already delayed. Be patient.
March 4, 2021 at 19:01
Hello me Brit Simon
I am a winner 2021 cn EU 15000. Do you think my number will become current next
Month? Also, I am getting married to an American the 27 of March. Do I need to update the 260form or can I simply bring my marriage certificate at the interview? Also once I get
Married can I have his insurance straight away or this could be a problem in my interview? Thank you very much
March 4, 2021 at 19:10
No predictions on what numbers will get current.
For the marriage you need to add your spouse to your DS260 and create a DS260 for him. You need to act on that as fast as possible after the marriage. You will need to provide documents for your spouse. You can’t just turn up at the interview without that preparation. Read the FAQ.
March 4, 2021 at 19:15
Which kind of documents do I need to provide for him? How do I add another 260 form? This is very new for me and idk how to do it… do i need to provide documents even tho he is American and he lives in the USA already? Does he have to come at the interview?
March 4, 2021 at 19:19
OK – him being an American changes the answer! That was important to mention…
You will need to unlock your own DS260 to change your marital status and add him to YOUR DS260.
However, as he is American you do NOT need DS260 or documents for him. They will want your marriage cert.
March 4, 2021 at 19:29
Thank you so much.
Also, in the mean time can he add me and my daughter to his health insurance plan? Like a family plan?
March 4, 2021 at 19:37
Once you are married, yes.
March 4, 2021 at 19:44
Also can my daughter go to school there once we are married or does she has to wait for the green card anyway? And when he add me to his family plan insurance does he has to put my residence here or he can add me without putting my residence here and I can keep my residence in my home country til I get the green card? Also once I am married, do I need still the sponsor or is not necessary?
March 4, 2021 at 19:47
Your husband will be able to work these things out. Relax.
March 4, 2021 at 19:06
(I am writing on my friend’s behalf since he is not able to post on your website for some reason)
Dear BritSimon,
I am a dv 2020 visa holder from EU region (not a plaintiff). In February 2020 I was invited to an interview in my country, the case continued in September and my visa was issued on the 29th of September 2020 & valid till 15th of march 2021. After reading the news that dv 2020 visa holders can now travel with an expired visa, I sent an email to consular section in my country and got the following reply:
“Thank you for your inquiry. As it was mentioned in Gomez vs. Trump court case (the extract is provided below), the individuals whose names were listed in that court order and received DV visas as a result of those orders can travel with expired visas.
Individuals whose DV-2020 visas have expired may not be issued replacement visas; however, individuals who received diversity visas in 2020 as a result of orders in the court case Gomez v. Trump may travel to the United States on an expired visa as the court ordered the government to treat these visas as though they were issued on the date P.P. 10014 was rescinded.”
Please pay attention to the wording: “individuals who received diversity visas in 2020 as a result of orders in the court case Gomez v. Trump”, which means, if you received your DV visas after your name was mentioned in this court case, you will be eligible to travel on your expired visas. As per our records, this does not apply to your case and unfortunately your visas will no longer be valid after the expiration date.
The Embassy’s response above is contradictory to what I have learned from you and read online since PP 10014 was rescinded.
My question is:
1. I am not able to travel at the moment as there are no commercial flights in my country at the moment and the borders are closed, plus my grandmother passed away, I cannot leave immediately. Is our embassy correct that I cannot travel with an expired visa after March 15th since I was not a plaintiff?
2. If they are wrong and I can travel later, how much time do I have to travel with an expired visa? 6 month starting from Feb 24th, 2021?
March 4, 2021 at 19:12
1. No they are not correct. You’ll be fine unless the order is modified in some way. So – plan to travel as soon as possible, don’t use the whole 6 months.
2. See 1.
March 5, 2021 at 13:00
Regarding your point one – the risk is that Judge Mehta will remove the 6 months extension clause from his decision? Or anything else?
By the way, does this 6 months extension in its current edition apply for the visas both expired and still valid as of February 24th (when the PP10014 was rescinded) or only for the visas that have expired by then?
As I contacted the Consulate in Germany, there were statements like “As a result, you are no longer prohibited from traveling directly to and entering the U.S. with your valid DV-2020 visa…” and “DV visas cannot be extended” when asked about the 6 months extension. Very confusing information.
March 5, 2021 at 17:44
I already answered the first question
It applies to all DV2020 visas issued (including re-issued) in September.
March 5, 2021 at 18:06
Hi my case number is 2020A84xxx is this number too high that I will not be schedule for documents submission?
I’m a liberian
March 5, 2021 at 18:57
Are you sure you mean 2020? If so you must wait for the outcome of the Gomez case, but your number is high, and it sounds like you never sent documents. So your case would be risky.
March 4, 2021 at 19:12
Which embassy is that, by the way?
March 4, 2021 at 19:26
US Embassy in Ashgabat.
My friend is going nuts over this misinformation on behalf of the Embassy, what can he do to prove that the Embassy in wrong?
March 4, 2021 at 19:38
They will get the message in time. For now, why bother arguing with them. What they think is not important.
March 4, 2021 at 19:21
Thanks you brit, about the photo used (2016 one ) now they gonna disqualified me at interview ?
March 4, 2021 at 19:42
Hi Brit,
DV2020 winner, my visa expires on March 20th.
I plan to fly in and out next week to activate my visa, flying to NYC. I’ve indicated the address of my friend in Chicago in DS-260 for green card delivery but will be aiming to live in NYC.
I also indicated that I want to get the Social Security Card in DS-260. Will it be sent to the indicated address in Chicago without me needing to apply anywhere personally (as I will be staying just one week and in NYC, not Chicago)?
I’m asking as I will return to Europe and will need to sign my US job contract remotely while still being in Europe before moving over to the US (and I assume I need my SSC to be able to sign). The plan was that my friend will send me both green card AND social security card per post to Europe.
Thanks in advance!
March 6, 2021 at 09:55
Hi Brit, what are you thoughts on that? Any hints will help.
March 6, 2021 at 15:33
You shouldn’t need to do anything.
March 4, 2021 at 19:58
Brit I need your answer my brother, about the photo used (2016 one) do you think that I could lead to disqualified me at the interview ?

March 5, 2021 at 15:30
Hi Lari,
Did you get email requesting supporting documents from KCC?
Thanks

Hello Brit,
Our CN 2021EU10k will be current next month. We sent the documents in december and still no “congratulations email” from them. We double checked the documents and sent them a couple emails asking if the documents are valid but only got automated emails in response. All documents are in english / with translation except for one which is in the local language where the embassy is. I keep wondering what’s going on. What’s your advise sir?.
Thank you.

Check your document package very carefully. If you are convinced you have sent the correct documents, then wait a week or two and ask again.

Hello Britsimon,I’m sierra Leonean and as you may know my country is currently on visa sanction.I’m resident in another country,as a dv 2021 winner, does this sanction also affect me even if my interview won’t be in my home country
March 4, 2021 at 21:08
I can’t be certain. All you can do is try.
March 4, 2021 at 21:18
Ok Brit thank you, but I heard you on your previous comment saying that you have never seen case been disqualified for previous photos. That photo used reflect my current apparence … Nothing changes in my visage just my visage seems a little younger
March 5, 2021 at 16:55
People aren’t normally using 5 year old photos. That’s the difference. The older the photo, the more risk. It’s obvious – right?
March 4, 2021 at 21:23
You are now making me confused Brit because you told someone on your previous comment that until now they didn’t disqualified people for previous photos now you’re saying contrary. I’m confused

Hello simon
I am the winner of Dv2021 from Ethiopia. I have some questions related to the passport case. due to COVID 19 ministry of immigration (ethiopian) stop issuing and renewal passport service for months and at that time i cant update my wife passport and issuing new passport for the newborn child, than i email to KCC on jun 26 ,2020 by stating about the situation and KCC answer me ”A passport is required for visa processing, and is therefore required when completing the DS-260. If you do not yet have a passport, please wait until you have the required information before submitting the DS-260 form” .after some days later ministry of immigration (ethiopian) permits issuing and updating passports (for some period of time) only for dv winners ,medical, student, government officials, … in this situation we use this opportunity to update our passport (my and my wife)and also issuing new passport for our new born child , my wife passport expired on 24 may 2020 and also my passport expires on 23 august 2021.
When we fill DS 260 on august 12, 2020, we use the updated passport number to fill the form which varies with the primary DV entry (original dv entry) passport number. already we have the original passport of both the new and old on our hand.
So, my question is …..
1 Is there any problem filling DS260 by using the updated passport (new passport number) ?
2Or Shall I ask KCC to Unlock DS260 to adjust passport number (to refill the old passport) ?
i hope you will give me a solution for fixing this problem
Thank you and God Bless you
March 5, 2021 at 16:57
1. No – but you should be able to show the old passports too at the interview, and of course send both in the documents package.
2. You can do that, or just take the new and old passport to the interview.
March 8, 2021 at 05:49
Some one says unlock DS260 may delaye or descolifid the case is that true
What is the problame or worest result by unlocking DS 260
March 8, 2021 at 14:04
That someone is an idiot.
No problem unlocking the DS260.

Hi Simon,
I have a few questions:
1) I’m following a suggestion that it would be wise to translate docs just in case I have to transfer my case because of the ban. So I was wondering if I have to send the translated docs and the original.
2) I’ve never been in any military for any country. Do I have to show something to prove that?
3) Being in a banned country means that KCC will not schedule an interview or that they won’t even send email and ready to schedule?
Thank you sir.
March 5, 2021 at 17:04
1. If you send documents to KCC, send translations only if required. If you also decide to get translations for the reason you stated, those would not have to be sent to KCC – but use your own judgement.
2. No
3. We have yet to see.

I have a son who has an American passport and SSN. And I didn’t added him in DS-260
Is this a problem?

Here we are in early March and KCC is sending 2NLs with a less-than-10-days advance notice. My CN is current and I have everything ready for the interview except the I-134 and medical exam.
Q1 – With regards to the validity of the I-134 and its supporting documents, do you think it is okay to ask our sponsors to prepare the I-134 and the supporting payslips etc now and not wait for the 2NL?
Q2 – Will the tax related information / documents be available in reference to the tax year just past?
March 5, 2021 at 17:08
1. You can decide, based on case number and interview readiness.
2. Possibly.

Hello Mr Simon,
I applied to DV 2022 and have a question about qualifications as I don’t see anything country specific on the Embassy’s website.
I was born and currently Live in Trinidad and Tobago, My Bachelors Degree is in Computing from London Metropolitan University in the UK, will my qualifications be suitable if selected for a Visa?
March 5, 2021 at 17:10
It’s pointless to ask questions now. Wait to be selected.
March 5, 2021 at 05:41
Hi Simon
1- is it harmful -technically – sending documents to KCC using phone instead of desk top computer or laptop?
2- does sending documents without been asked to do so, sometimes work and the case continuous processing successfully? Did you see such cases in dv2020 fiscal year?
March 5, 2021 at 17:12
1. No
2. Yes
March 5, 2021 at 05:43
Hi Brit,
We are hoping the final decesion of 9k Visas DV2020 in middle of March 2021, isn’t it?
March 5, 2021 at 17:12
No – more like April now.
March 5, 2021 at 05:51
Hi brit, I am waiting for interview scheduling as I already received email saying my documents were received in November. Currently my sponsor has changed his residential address in US. So now his address is new than I filled in DS260,
1. Do I need to inform KCC about this now or at the time of interview ?
2. Also he was infected by Covid and jobless/no salaried last month (for 1 month only). Does this affect ?
3. Is it possible to change the sponsor now? And do you recommend to change the sponsor if the new one has better income?
Thanks ?
March 5, 2021 at 17:13
1. At interview.
2. No
3. You can – your choice.
March 5, 2021 at 08:42
Hi Brit
We saw something out of the ordinary that Kentucky did this week
Perhaps they will also do something unusual in the visa bulletin
What do you think about it!!!
For example, if the Algerian embassy continues to grant interviews so quickly, it will surpass the rest of the embassies, and I think that Kentucky will take advantage of this and try to make the most of the Algerian embassy.
March 5, 2021 at 17:14
Wait and see.
March 5, 2021 at 08:53
Hi Simon
Now that scheduling has started, what do you advise as to when one should go for the medical and the i134/ supported documents ?
I have a low case no AF5xxx which is ready for scheduling.
Thank you !
March 5, 2021 at 17:15
Read the instructions about how to book the medical.
The I-134 is filled out by your US based sponsor.
March 5, 2021 at 17:27
Hey Simon thanks for the advice- I could not find the instructions on your faq or YouTube channel- where can I find them ?
Thanks buddy
