Hi simon thanks for the efforts
Im a dv 2021 winner my cn is 8k from Morocco but still didn’t get interviewed although in june we went up to 9k who got their 2nl and in July we reached 13k and i still dont know why i didnt receive my 2nl, i completed my ds260 in june last years then i submitted my documents as well but the only issue is that i received my confirmation very late, on mid mars wich i consider very late because all the numbers bellow 16k got their confirmation befor me, and only in 1st of May i got a message from kcc says that my case is transformed to my embassy.
Do you think that me receiving my confirmation late caused that delayed or what you think? I also opend me ds twice last year.
Thank you
June 3, 2021 at 17:13
Yes I think the date you became ready for scheduling is affecting things, along with other factors.
June 2, 2021 at 19:51

June 3, 2021 at 17:14
Gomez case is still not decided.
June 2, 2021 at 19:55
Hello, Simon. Our case number is 2022EU8***. We are citizens of Russia and live in Russia, but we are participating in DV2022 from the country of birth of Tajikistan. Can we specify the location of the interview in Almaty, Kazakhstan (where citizens of Tajikistan are interviewed), because the USA embassy in Russia does not work
June 3, 2021 at 17:14
You can try.
June 2, 2021 at 21:02

June 3, 2021 at 17:15

June 2, 2021 at 21:14
Hi Simon, Thanks so much for all your guidance over the past year. I finally got my 2NL today for 2021. July in London. Goodluck all and don’t give up hope! – For clarity I was OC6XX and submitted documents June last year. Time to make sure I am prepared for anything in the interview! 🙂
June 3, 2021 at 03:13
Hi, Ben! When did you get your ready for scheduling message?
June 3, 2021 at 20:36
Hi RFS, it was quite quick back then! I believe it came in July 2020. I submitted mine very early on since I had a low case number!
June 3, 2021 at 05:43
I got a London interview through yesterday as well. Late July. Fingers crossed it doesn’t get cancelled!!!
June 3, 2021 at 17:16
Cool.
June 2, 2021 at 21:48
Hi Brit..I just received my 2NL today..I need to clarify something..I want to book an appointment with a doctor for the medicals,so i heard some people saying they had some problems when they were trying to book appointments to the doctors because they could not provide a reference number which the doctor requested. However on the interview day just on Monday the embassy turned them away saying that they did not know about their interview appointment, but KCC had sent them 2NLs with all information the date, time and, embassy location.
June 3, 2021 at 17:48
So what is the question?
June 2, 2021 at 22:48
I was born in a European country, and applied to DV-2022 with the passport from my EU country and won. I have also just received a UK citizenship, UK passport and am became a dual citizen. When I am asked to provide documents, should provide scans of both passports or only my original EU passport?
June 3, 2021 at 18:28
Both
June 2, 2021 at 23:31
Hi Simon, Like for example if someone win DV and they don’t have high school documents can they still travel?
June 3, 2021 at 18:30
If they do not meet the requirements they will not be approved.
June 3, 2021 at 00:47
Dear Brits,
Hope you’re doing well.
DV2021 winner was interviewed the last few days, but the consulate considered reviewing my education qualification again. The reason is that I’ve lost my high school certificate. I actually can request for reissuing it if needed. I showed him my bachelor’s degree, graduating in my country, and master’s degree in Australia. Also, I have more than 10 years of work experiences with a good salary offer. This info was clearly mentioned in the DS260 form. The case is now in refused status and regarding the paper given by the consulate, he will contact me after finishing the review or administrative process. May I know your thoughts about this?
Sorry for a bit lengthy question.
Regards,

You should be OK – just wait.
June 3, 2021 at 01:13
hi everyone, i just received my 2nl and I also signed up for cirtis morrison lawsuit.
since the case has not been filed
1. is there a way to opt out?
2. will i benefit in any other way like being assigned a paralegal?
thank you simon for being with us ❤️
June 3, 2021 at 02:28
I believe you are Unable to opt out. Conditions stated you still have to pay the remainder amount. Same position but looking to pay it immediately once I get the visa.
June 3, 2021 at 04:30
true, but since the lawsuit has not been filed yet, i was wondering if there’s a way around it.
have you been assigned a paralegal yet? i also wonder how that could help.
June 3, 2021 at 04:43
Even tho it hasn’t been filed we still signed a waiver. So I don’t think you can get out. And yes was assigned one who messaged me day before 2nl saying kcc was scheduling mine for interview.

June 3, 2021 at 03:24
Hi Brit,
I am an OC winner, OC28##
I unfortunately missed the Curtis Morrison cut off, however are there any other lawsuits going you would recommend and do you think I should still try join one with my number?
I have watched your videos on this however I would still appreciate confirmation from you as the whole thing is complicated for me.
Thank you very much.
June 3, 2021 at 18:34
I don’t recommend any other lawsuit other than the Goh or Goodluck teams.
June 3, 2021 at 05:55
I saw on the saveDiversityVisa Twitter page, 465 new 2nl for AF. I would like to know if these 2nl will be sent in the coming days?

Thank you for helping us
June 3, 2021 at 18:46

June 6, 2021 at 15:49

June 3, 2021 at 06:56
Dear Brit,
My wife’s DV number is 2022AS38XX. We are from Iran and currently live in Sweden with a student permit.
I have 2 questions:
1- Which one would be better for our visas chance, stay and be interviewed in Sweden or go back to Iran and follow our case from there?
2- As our permits will expire soon the only way for us to be able to stay in Sweden more is to apply for asylum. Do you think being asylum will have bad impact on our visa cases? Comparing to going back to Iran, does is worth?
Many thanks for your time and helps.
Have a nice day.
Medi
June 3, 2021 at 18:47
1. Probably Sweden.
2. I don’t know.
June 3, 2021 at 07:50
Hi Simon,
I’m DV 2021, my name in the passport consists of 4 words, in the original entry I only put 3 ( I ignored the 3rd one). I modified this in the DS260 and since then I’ve sent KCC several E-mails to ask about my case and I provided the needed info( My full name, DoB, CN) and they always reply with no issues until yesterday, they refused to reply to my email asking whether they are satisfied with my documents and they said they cant provide such sensitive info bcz I didn’t provide my name according the original entry!
1) Why do you think they refused to answer my question this time?
2) Should I resend my documents with my full name(4 words on each documents or 3 words) or it dosent matter?
3) Do you think this will cause me some problems at the time of interview?
Thanks
June 3, 2021 at 13:24
As long as your corrected it in your ds 260 you should be fine! I did the same thing and had my interview a couple of days ago and had no issues
June 3, 2021 at 18:49
1. Perhaps you made a mistake?
2. The DS260 and the documents should have accurate information.
3. No
June 3, 2021 at 20:21
I copied & pasted my details from previous emails which they replied to! Anyway, just today 2 DV2021 winners that I know received the same email even though they previously sent the exact same details amd they answered them with no issues at that time!
June 5, 2021 at 14:29
OK – well try again.
June 3, 2021 at 10:17
Hi Brit.
I hope you’re doing well.
Last time i explained my case to you about the fact i didnt mention the university i attended abroad in my ds260 because i still couldnt withdraw my degree ( i have a valid police certificate from this country )
You told me it was not a big deal and i should be honest. Now my preoccupation is that: should i mention to the CO before the beginning of the interview what i did mistakenly, i mean before swearing, where i will be asked for the truthfulness of my informations in my ds260 ? ! or should i wait for the CO to ask me any question in relation with what i did right after my high school diploma ? to let him know that..
This is all i need to know Brit now.
thank you in advance for your help and suggestion.
June 3, 2021 at 19:05
At the interview you only answer questions that you are asked. Apart from that, shut up.
June 3, 2021 at 10:59
Hello . my friend immigrated to the USA through Brazil … Mexico.
he is now in the USA and working. he has not yet obtained his Green card. But he tells me he applied for the Green card and he will get the Green card.
1) Can he become my sponsor?
2) Due to the fact that he passed through Mexico, can he disqualify me ?
June 3, 2021 at 19:06
1. No – he must have tax reports from last year.
June 3, 2021 at 11:09
Hi Simon, Thanks for all your efforts, can’t stress enough how much we appreciate them…
2022AF3K selectee here,
1- I already submitted my DS260 where I mentionned the address of a same person in both sections “Where will you be staying” and “Where do you want your greencard mailed”. Now plans have changed and I want to stay in a different address than the one I provided in the DS260. Can I do that without changing it? I prefer not to request a reopening of my DS260 and cause a lot of delay especially that I have a low CN. (I know the green card will still be mailed to the mentionned address)
2- Do you think KCC has dedicated some of their resources by now to start working on DV2022?
3- I already have a B1/B2 visa since 2018 and I had gone through AP for 4 frustrating months before I got it. Do you think I will have to go through it again?
4- If you tell a CO that you intend to go pick up your greencard and then come back home until you set a plan, would that play against your favour?
Thanks in advance,
June 3, 2021 at 19:08
1. You can change that at the interview.
2. I don’t know – but I hope not!
3. I don’t know.
4. You don’t need to discuss that.
June 3, 2021 at 11:18
Hello Simon
I’m a dv2022 selectee and my case number is AF17XXX, I haven’t submitted form DS260 yet and I want to change the embassy in which the interview will be held on, I have already submitted a request to [email protected] last week and I’m yet to receive a reply, I can change every detail except for this one.
June 3, 2021 at 19:09
Once you select an embassy in the DS260 you cannot change it. They will ignore your selection anyway, and base your interview on current address.
June 3, 2021 at 11:44
Hello Mr. Simon,
I am a winner of DV2022 CN EU25***. I have 2 questions.
1. In my DS260 I mentioned only the works with more experience, 3 of them(4 years, 2 years and 1year).
I left out 2 other works which I worked 5 months and 7 months(reason is because those companies don’t exist anymore).
Is it a problem not mentioned them?
2. Secondly In my country(Albania) it seems like COVID19 is about to end. There are less cases with Covid day by day, 3-5 cases per day instead of 1000-1200 3months before. The vaccination is going good but the embassies are not working. In your opinion are they doing this on purpose? It looks like the don’t want to give visas and justifying this with the restrictions of COVID-19.
I really appreciate your help in answering the questions.
June 3, 2021 at 19:10
1. Is it hard to be truthful?
2. I don’t know.
June 3, 2021 at 13:42
Hi BritSimon. I am dv 2022 As 8*** . I sent ds 260 unlock request to Kcc a week ago but have not got any response. And can i get rejected because i asked to unlock the form.. or what changes can get me rejected. my reason for unlocking the form is simply changing my course of study where i did not write particular subject and employement type
June 3, 2021 at 13:59
Don’t worry fellow colleague, I asked KCC to unlock my DS 3 weeks ago and still no respose. I sent another email today requesting the same thing 🙂
June 3, 2021 at 19:11
Overthinking. Relax.
June 3, 2021 at 15:51
Dear Simon, thanks for your help so far
this I think will be the last question I ask you,
My daughter under 21 years of age, which I included in the eDV, is not going to emigrate with me, even so I must fill out her form DS260 for hers and send her civil documents by mail from her to the KCC. Thank you very much for your support as always
June 3, 2021 at 19:17
If she is not going to emigrate, you don’t complete a DS260 for her.
June 3, 2021 at 17:42
Hi Simon
I got bank statement of the last 6 months but with no official stamps or signature..
Could that be okay to show the co?
Thanks!
June 3, 2021 at 19:20
You can show it, but it will be up to the CO whether to accept it or not.
June 3, 2021 at 18:05
2022AS000119XX
Hi Mr. Simon
Thanks again for your support and efforts
I had submitted my DS260 few days ago, but unfortunately after signing my spouse application (company) i discovered that her email is wrong
I requested kcc to unlock her application to correct her email three days ago but still no response
1- Does this unlock and sign again delay the application and the interview process?
2- Let’s say kcc didn’t response to the unlock email, is correcting the email so critical matter?
Should i correct it or keep as it is now if kcc didn’t answer my unlock request?
Note: my email (main applicant) is correct
3- In my application in spouse section i mentioned my wife as homemaker in occupation option, while in my spouse application she had chosen not employed option,,, is there any problem about the difference between both options ?
June 3, 2021 at 19:23
1. No
2. No
3. No problem.
June 3, 2021 at 18:32
Hi, Simon!
A few days ago I found out that I was selected for further processing in the DV program 2022. I want to travel to the US with my boyfriend, we’ve been together for several years already, but we don’t want to have our marriage under this kind of preassure. However, I understand that i cannot take him with me without being married, so we decided to get married asap since my case number is pretty low. We would like to have a formal wedding with no ceremony, no ring exchanging, and I would like to keep my last name as it is. Could any of these things decrease our chances or even prevent us from getting a green card? Thank Your for all the helpfull information!
June 3, 2021 at 19:25
Saying things like “we don’t want to have our marriage under this kind of preassure” could be a problem if you said that in front of the CO. Otherwise no problem.
June 3, 2021 at 18:47
Hi Simon,
21AS38XX, ready for scheduling.
I sent an email to my embassy around a month ago showing concern about my case and being scheduled. It appears that there has been a misunderstanding in the situation and that I was supposed to be scheduled 2-3 months ago. However, after a long convo, they surprisingly told me that they will request KCC to send my file to them. A week after that, I got a reply to an enquiry I sent to KCC about my case, and the reply was the “case ready for interview processing” one. So, I was quite certain that I will receive 2NL in this July batch but however, I still haven’t, even though KCC has already sent 2NLs in the past days.
To be optimistic, from SaveDiversity twitter, my embassy hasn’t gotten/accepted any case to be ready in this July batch (yet?). I won’t mention the embassy since the email mentioned the convo to be classified.
I need your thoughts…
1) Will I be scheduled in this July batch? If at all?
2) What do you think of the above?
Regards
June 3, 2021 at 19:30
1. I don’t know.
2. I like the above. It is better than downstairs.
June 3, 2021 at 18:56
Hey Simon,
I could’t find any recent update regarding this topic, so I would like to ask you – is the US is open to DV greencard holders at the moment? And what are your predictions for later this year? According to the former years visa bulletin numbers with my DV 2022 case number an interview should be scheduled for November. Thanks for helping out, this really means a lot 🙂
June 3, 2021 at 19:28
Yes DV can enter the USA.
As for number progression, it is too early to start making assumptions.
June 3, 2021 at 18:59
Hi Simon, in terms of the medical do they accept vaccinations that you had as a child or do they only take into account the ones you had in the past 5/10 years? I’ve heard that somewhere but wanted to check with you.
June 3, 2021 at 19:28
They consider everything and then apply their medical expertise.
June 5, 2021 at 09:43
hey Simon – after completing DS-260, does KCC send an automated email saying they’ve received completed forms ?
June 5, 2021 at 15:09
Most people see that, yes.
June 3, 2021 at 19:14
Hello, we played together, my wife and I won DV 2022. I have an email address and my wife has her email address. if by filling in my ds260, I enter my email address and also by filling in my wife’s ds260, I enter her email address. Is it a problem ? NB: I used two different email addresses in two different ds260 forms
June 3, 2021 at 19:27
No problem.
June 3, 2021 at 20:09
which of the email addresses, Kcc will use to send us the messages to scan our and the appointment?
June 5, 2021 at 14:29
The one on the DS260
June 3, 2021 at 21:46
why my comment disappears , I never could find my comments and questions let alone your answer or reply
Sad
June 5, 2021 at 14:34

June 5, 2021 at 14:28
1. You must be honest and accurate.
2. Lying is a problem.
June 3, 2021 at 20:26

June 3, 2021 at 21:28
Hi there BritSimon, I am a winner of the DV2022 lottery. When completing my application I got to the sign and submit section and did not realise I was required to omit the zeros. I hit the next button a few times and now the portal will not let submit anymore. My application is still there with all my information, however the button to move forward and sign and submit is not working and does not take me any further. I have emailed the KCC about a week ago with no reply. Would love any suggestions you might have. Thank you.
June 5, 2021 at 14:30
Wait and see what KCC say.
June 3, 2021 at 21:36
Hello Brit
If a child’s mother is divorced, and his father married another woman, is it permissible for the boy to write the name of his mother or stepmother in the (mother’s information) field in DS-260 application?
June 5, 2021 at 14:31
Both are real relationships – so either can be used.
June 3, 2021 at 23:24

June 5, 2021 at 14:39
Answer “yes”
June 4, 2021 at 02:37
Hi simon,
I have one question I have 4 profiles in my DS260 and I fill out mine and my husband and send them. But I didn’t complete my two daughters because they are US citizen, does this affect my submission??
June 5, 2021 at 14:39
No
June 4, 2021 at 04:10

Thanks

June 6, 2021 at 06:58

If you don’t mind could you please share your CN and document submitted period!
Thank you!
June 4, 2021 at 04:10
Hi Brit Simon. My wife was successfully selected for DV 2022. However, at the time of application. We were not legally married so she entered unmarried. We however had our civil marriage in Jan 2021 before the May DV 2022 announcements. . Also we have a child together and she added her during the application process.
Can she add me as a derivative now that we had our civil marriage before the announcements??
June 5, 2021 at 14:41
Yes
June 4, 2021 at 04:51
Hello Brit
If i want to submit my ds260 as a principal applicant knowing that i already submitted another ds260 as beneficiary in my husband case application (both winners)
1) should i mention the ds260 submitted before in the question asking about visa application?
2) my passport was renewed so i need to put the new passport number in the new application wouldn’t that cause a conflict or any problem?
June 5, 2021 at 14:41
1. No
2. No
June 4, 2021 at 06:27

June 4, 2021 at 09:50
Hello Birt,
My friend is selected for DV2022 and has four children, one of whom is adopted. How do I complete the adopted child’s DS260?
June 5, 2021 at 10:46
In my country normally when you adopt a child legally, you get a new birth cert bearing names of the adopting parents and that’s the information you fill in your DS260. During interview you are required to have an adoption certificate/decree, a legal guardianship document and the new birth cert.
Check this link on custody documentation.
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/diversity-visa-program-entry/diversity-visa-interview/diversity-visa-prepare-for-interview.html
June 5, 2021 at 14:45
Same as the other children. Just be aware the adoption legal process must have happened at least 2 years before the interview.
June 4, 2021 at 10:37
Hi Simon
Me and my family got selected for DV2022
22AF83XX
And i am filling now my DS 260 form

My 2nd question is my passport vaild for until November 2022 and this is the passport i got selected with should i renew my passport before i attach my documents or continue with it
Would you please reply to me about this
Thanks
June 5, 2021 at 14:47
1. They will schedule you based on current resident country, but you can change that when you move.
2. You can use that for now and once you renew it take old and new to the interview.
June 4, 2021 at 13:45
Hello Simon, I am in Sudan and from previous experience I knew that no one with a high school diploma had been rejected. Although the requirements are equivalent to a certificate or two years of experience. The question is whether these requirements are written only and are not enforced or is no one able to apply the requirement well. Is it possible that this was an instruction to accept only a Sudanese certificate even if he had a certificate from a world-recognized profession and from a well-known institution? I hope you can tell me about this.
June 5, 2021 at 14:48
The education standard is defined in the law, and then interpreted locally.
June 4, 2021 at 13:52
Hi Simon, I was just going over the entire checklist ahead of my interview and noticed you had posted a video on the DS-5540. Is that still a requirement or has that been scrapped under Biden? I tried to search the FAQ’s but could only find your original article on it. Thanks
June 5, 2021 at 14:48

1) The data shared by save diversity visa blog says there’s for example 45 2nl in Asia region
Does that mean kcc already sent 45 and winners received there 2nl or not yet received and going to be sent soon?
2) in Xatharisuis 2nl data there is a column named “submit date” any idea what date they are referring to ?

Hello Simon
My case number is 2022EU15XXX is it my case number high?
I also want to ask I filled out the form DS260 how they will inform me about what is next and for how long I have to wait to be informed?
Thank you

I would say send DS260 as soon as possible and also get all the documents and send them to KCC. This website has plenty info about this topic.
🙂
You can also delay this process.
I would say your case number is in the lower range. They have room for about 20.000 people in EU region. Case numbers are not consecutive they have 40% or more of holes and then some people also choose not to go on with their application.
You are OK and there is no reason to delay your submission. 🙂

1. No
2. Wait a few weeks then send documents.

DV2022 won`t start until October and it will depend on your case number when you will get a response. You have plenty of time to submit ds260 as currently dv2021 is processing and it`s far from over so dv2022 candidates won`t be prioritzed before the starting date. On your number being high it will depend on how many applicants were selected for EU and what the maximum case number is. This data will be available from January from CEAC so there is plenty of time. Be patient.

Hi Simon,
I believe you are fine.
A number of 2Nls for July were released recently.
Can we expect more 2Nls in to be released before the end of the month?
Thanks.

As I have explained on many occaisions, the 2NLs are being sent for a few days after the end of the month, so whilst the July interview 2NLs would normally have all been sent by the end of May, we actually saw them being sent for a few days into June. I obviously cannot guess when that will stop. At some point they will begin working on the next month.
