June 17, 2021 at 19:29
No
June 21, 2021 at 04:34
hello mr simon I am a winner of the 2022 lottery and I sent a DS260, me, my wife and my children, but I discovered that I had a mistake in the job, its history, and the previous job. The matter was mixed between the two jobs. Should I send an email to open the DS260?
June 22, 2021 at 13:41
You can correct it at interview.
June 17, 2021 at 02:09
Hi,
I’m a dv21 selectee 23xxx AF Egypt, received my ready for scheduling on June 22nd 2020
I’m a good luck plaintiff
Is this early ready for scheduling mail helps me?
June 17, 2021 at 19:35
Yes it might.
June 17, 2021 at 05:41
Hi Britsimon. I don’t have family or friends in the USA. I am worried about the public charge denial. I do have property, investments and savings that are worth a lot more than $20000. Will this be adequate if I can show them and their value?
June 17, 2021 at 19:59
They will not be interested in non liquid assets. So – savings might help, property and investments probably will not help.
June 18, 2021 at 06:20
Thanks BritSimon. I have an access loan on my property. I can access a big chunk of the value. Should I transfer that to my bank account? Does the liquid cash have to be in there for 3 months bank statements? I could sell my investments anytime for cash, why do they not consider that?
June 18, 2021 at 06:35
Hi BritSimon. I mean I can cash in on my home loan and just keep the liquid cash in my account for 3 months, it just means I will be paying interest on it. What is the minimum amount of cash I need in my account?
June 19, 2021 at 05:06
Don’t borrow money for the interview.
June 17, 2021 at 06:27
Hi Simon, just a quick one on the DS260 form that I am now unsure of. I attended university for 2 years but I then left and never completed my degree. For “Highest level of Education Completed” on the DS260 I went with “University, No Degree” now I’m not sure if that was the right option as I didn’t technically ‘complete’ University…
June 17, 2021 at 20:29
You chose correctly.
June 20, 2021 at 17:02
Good day Mr BritSimon
Thank you soo much on your videos about DVLOTTERY.
Please am confused on something and I need your help..
Am a 2022 dv lottery WINNER AF15***
But I have problem with my names and date of birth….
On my passport and birth certificate I have 3 names and same date of BIRTH.
Example
Shadrack Kpakpo Allotey
DOB. 13/08/1997
But on my high school certificate I have only two names and they made a mistake with my year of BIRTH on the certificate
Shadrack Kpakpo and the DOB is 13/08 /1994 Insteed of 1997
What can I do before I start to fill my DS260 form or will they refuse me visa from Ghana..
2. Can I add my wife when filling the DS260 form, we got married after the application.
Thank you soo much
Please help me out…..
June 22, 2021 at 13:27
1. Your DS260 should have the accurate information. The education document is not how they check your date of birth.
2. Yes
June 17, 2021 at 08:22
Hi Simon
Case: 2022AF85xx
I finished my DS260 but for me when i sigin the ds260 i forgot to mention that she fill it with my help as i fill it for her and my kids so this a problem i have to email them
Also how long it takes to receive the documents request email after the DS260
June 17, 2021 at 22:34
1. No problem.
2. Time varies.
June 17, 2021 at 09:11

June 17, 2021 at 22:35
They are going in order of ready for scheduling.
June 18, 2021 at 15:40
Dear Mr. SIMON,
I am Selectee For2021 CN AS41XX. AS You say they are scheduling interview in order of ready for scheduling.. I received my ready for scheduling mail on November 2020.. do I have a chance of of getting interview before some lower cases who received ready for scheduling later than Mine???
June 19, 2021 at 20:00
Maybe.
June 19, 2021 at 16:08
DO you mean CN that received ready for scheduling mail earlier than some Lower cases have chance to get interview appointment before without regards of being high CN????
June 19, 2021 at 20:37
All case numbers are current – so case number is not important. However, you can see that in general, the lower case numbers got processed first.
June 17, 2021 at 09:19
Hello Brit,
I was going through the numbers of visa issued by state department of in the link below
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics.html
It’s clear some embassies issued alot of NIV compared to immigrant in April. How can they say they are closed due to Corona virus when in some embassies they issued more than 500 B1/B2 visas in a single month (not counting rejected applications since they will not appear in these date). Is this something the lawyers can use in their arguments.
June 17, 2021 at 22:36
The lawyers know already. The government have issued a policy (that the lawyers are fighting) that puts DV visas at the bottom of a priority list.
June 17, 2021 at 09:42
Question about the both lawyers request for early hearing or decision for 9095 visas DV2020.
The request to the court was filed by Av. Kuck and was published by him on Twitter which he published according to the agreement with all the lawyers of the case. This request did not carry the electronic filing signature in court, but was simply a formally prepared document, this fact was noted by Av. Morrison telling him to publish the letter with the electronic seal of the court. Av. Kuck joked, “You can go into the court system and look at it.” (all this conversation took place on Twitter and can be verified). This letter was filed in the case of Goh vs Biden and Av. Morrison does not have access to the system to verify the case documentation, as he is part of the Gomez case.
This request was never published with the electronic seal of the court, so the question is “Who assures us that this request has been filed? Av. Morrison always publishes documents with the electronic seal of the court, while he did not publish this request. Do not you think that the interests of DV21 are being used here using DV20?
June 17, 2021 at 22:41
I find Kuck to be a trustworthy person. I like Curtis Morrison but he seems to like arguing, sometimes without reason or merit. So I think this particular point is not worth worrying about.
June 18, 2021 at 15:54
Is there any possibility of final out come Gomez case.
June 19, 2021 at 20:00
Yes – but I can’t guess when.
June 17, 2021 at 09:46
Hello,
I’m from Azerbaijan. The winner of green card lottery 2021. My case number 30k.
We filled out form D260 in June 2020& received an email that Kentucky confirmed. There is no mail further. We stil haven’t received mail from Kentucky. And we have very little time.
Can you help us?Do we have a chance?
Thank u un advance!
June 17, 2021 at 22:44
If you have not submitted documents, nor signed up for a lawsuit, I’m sorry to say you are probably not going to get an interview.
June 17, 2021 at 10:54
Hello . my wife has a child. this child, she had when she was in cohabitation with a man (she was not married to this man, I am her first husband). I am with this child and my wife together. i want to know if this child is my stepchild?
NB: we often say a stepchild Is the son of your wife that she had with her previous spouse
June 17, 2021 at 22:45
Yes the child is your stepchild.
June 17, 2021 at 11:21
Dear BritSimon,
I hope to find relief from your response to my questions. I apologize for my long message.
I am a DV 2021 selectee from Turkmenistan, case number EU12K, a complete set of documents (along with all translations) submitted on February 17th. Today is 4 months since I am waiting for a response from KCC. I am a GOH plaintiff.
I have written numerous emails to KCC and the response is always the following:
“After sending documents to [email protected], you will receive an automatic reply to your email. If there are no attachments, the auto reply explains there are no documents attached to the email. If there are attachments, the auto reply explains we received your email and are currently processing your documents. Please allow time for processing of your documents. Documents are processed in numerical order, based on lottery rank number. Once KCC has processed your documents, we will let you know if anything is missing or if we have received everything needed ……………”
Last night I found out from save diversity visa and Xarthisius’s website that the US Embassy in Turkmenistan started accepting interviews and they have scheduled 8 cases probably for July. I emailed them last night and got a response:
“U.S. Embassy Ashgabat will soon begin the resumption of immigrant visa operations, including receiving new cases from the Kentucky Consular Center (KCCC). We have not yet received your case from KCC. Please note that the number of cases we are able to process each day will be limited. Precautions related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, although restrictive for our services, are necessary to protect the health and safety of our personnel and customers.
As soon as we receive your case, we will contact your family to schedule an interview.
Please note that the DV-2021 program will end on September 30, 2021, and we cannot issue visas for DV-2021 participants after September 30, and we also cannot reissue diversity visas after September 30 if the visa expires before you are able to travel.”
On a separate note, in Turkmenistan absolutely all organizations are working in full capacity, all cafes, restaurants, plus all Embassy staff were vaccinated long ago.
My questions:
1) What can I do to speed up my case? May I ask the Embassy to request my case from KCC? How should I convince them?
2) Should I tell the Embassy that I am a GOH plaintiff? Will it have any positive/negative impact?
Thank you once again,
June 17, 2021 at 22:47
Your main chance now is via the Goh lawsuit. There is no harm in contacting KCC, but the embassy cannot help until KCC send your case to them.
June 19, 2021 at 14:22
Thank you! Do you think KCC received my documents? Or should I send them again?
June 19, 2021 at 20:35
How would I know if they have your documents?
June 17, 2021 at 13:58
Hey Brit, am 2021AF35K but it seems Nairobi Embassy is not scheduling our interviews or slow at it, is there any chance of being interviewed coz my visa still shows at NVC
June 17, 2021 at 22:49
I don’t know. There is certainly a high chance that you will not get an interview. I hope you are on one of the lawsuits, as that might be your only chance.
June 18, 2021 at 17:10
Hi Simon.. Am from Nairobi too case number 35k..get in touch [email protected]
June 17, 2021 at 14:00
Hello Britsimon, most of Latinos, they have 2 names and 2 family names, for example: Jose Angel Monteza Mundaca. But in the 1NL and 2NL only showing Jose Angel Monteza (only 1 family name) meanwhile in the Confirmation of DS260 and passport is showing full complete name.
Questions:
1. Is it will be a problem or disqualification since in 1NL and 2NL only showing 1 family name instead of 2 family names?
2. Our paralegal from Curtis suggests us resend to send our documents with this format: 2021SAXXXX_myname_my1stfamilyname_my2ndfamiyname_PASSPORT.pdf , 2021SAXXXX_name_1stfamilyname_2ndfamilyname_(myname_my1stfamilyname_SPOUSE)PASSPORT.pdf ; 2021SAXXXX_name_1stfamilyname_2ndfamilyname(myname_my1stfamilyname_CHILDREN)_PASSPORT.pdf. Do we need to put word of SPOUSE, CHILDREN in the name of the file for our derivatives’ documents? Thank you for you time.
June 17, 2021 at 22:49
1. No
2. No
June 17, 2021 at 17:15
Hi Simon how are you I am selected with a case number 2022AF38000 my question is I detected a mistake in my son’s passport with regards to place of birth which I used in filling the DS 260 and I went for correction and a new passport with new number was issued and the old passport was withheld by the passport office of my country and is not in my possession any more, what will be the implication of this situation if I send my documents with my son’s new passport number? Thank you
June 17, 2021 at 19:57
Hi BritSimon, hope you are doing well? please have you heard of any DV 2021 winners still receiving emails from KCC requesting for documents especially this month- JUNE 2021. Please if there is, do you perhaps know some of their case numbers? Thank you
June 17, 2021 at 22:43

Hello Simon,
I am an LPR engaged to a foreign national that I am planning to bring here once I get married. How will it affect me to bring her here (planning to file after wedding, not yet filed) if I need to provide affidavit of support to a family of three for 2022 interview now? It used be one of the host countries before but I am not sure if that still qualifies.
June 19, 2021 at 04:59
I don’t know if that would affect your family based case.
June 18, 2021 at 00:36
Hi Brit.So on my DS260 work experience section on my precious work experience,i worked on 3 different jobs, the job i work for 1 year ,the second job was 6months and the 3rd job was 2 and abhalf months. However my highest education is a bachelor’s degree..Will this be an issue at the interview based on job experience requirement which is 2 years.?
June 19, 2021 at 05:03
You will pass the interview through education, so work experience is not required.
June 18, 2021 at 03:20

Hi Simon,
Are stocks considered liquid assets by consular?
June 19, 2021 at 05:06
No – they would be a semi liquid asset.
June 18, 2021 at 07:01
Hi simon. My sister won DV2022 and she has submitted DS260 and is currently living in Addis Ababa , Ethiopia. She is Ethiopian citizen andshe lived in Saudi Arabia for 13 months for work a couple of years ago. We knowpolice clearance from Saudi Arabia is important. We asked the Saudi Arabiaembassy here in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia but they don’t give such kinds of serviceat all and are also not cooperative beside one of the officers told us that even theUS embassy knows about it, Because of this the KCC or US embassy here in Addismay reject the visa request. So How can she get a police clearance certificatefrom Saudi Arabia? Is travel to Saudi is a must? What if we request the DS260 unlock and revise her travel information?By the way, we got the following email reply from the US consulate in Riyad.Thank you for your inquiry. Please see the official information on the travel.state.gov website regarding police clearances: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/SaudiArabia.html. You do NOT need a Saudi police clearance if you are not a Saudi citizen and no longer live in Saudi Arabia. The exception listed below is taken directly from the official website under the “Police, Court, Prison Records” tab. Exceptions: Police clearances are unavailable for third country nationals who no longer reside in the Kingdom.
Sincerely,Immigrant Visa UnitU.S. Embassy [email protected]
We are really confused and don’t know what to do.
Please we are awaiting your immediate and brief respond
Thanks in advance
June 19, 2021 at 19:40
They told you the accurate. No police cert is needed for a non resident.
June 18, 2021 at 08:27
Hello Simon. How’re you doing?
I’m a Goh plaintiff in the US. Considering the current mess, what would you recommend, wait for the Goh decision or apply for AoS in July?
Thanks for all your help!
June 19, 2021 at 19:42
That is a decision you will need to make yourself.
June 18, 2021 at 08:28
Hello Brit.
Regarding the I-134. My sponsor is filling it out with pen. Would if suffice if he scans the document after and emails it to me so I can print it and bring to the consulate, or should the sponsor send it by regular mail?
June 19, 2021 at 02:38
A scan is fine. I’m talking from experience, my sponsor filled it with pen and sent me the scan in pdf. format
June 19, 2021 at 19:42
Scanned/email is fine.
June 18, 2021 at 08:43

June 18, 2021 at 09:05
Hi, Sir, Good Day!
My question is, I submitted my initial entry without putting my wife’s name, I got selected for 2022. Should I or should I not mention my wife’s details in DS-260. Anyways she is pregnant and is not willing to travel with me any time sooner.
June 19, 2021 at 19:44
If you are married and did not include your wife, you will be disqualified.
June 18, 2021 at 09:16
Hi Simon
How long is bank statement valid to prove my wealth?
June 19, 2021 at 19:44

June 18, 2021 at 10:18
Dear Mr. Brit Simon
i am a dv lottery selectee of this year, i found your information most helpful and i had a question i am engaged to be married and my wedding was to be this july is it wise to go ahead with the wedding ? it is by all means a genuine relationship we’ve known each other for 6 years and i have pictures to validate that, but everywhere i go i see that it is hard to prove so is it a wise thing to do or will it damage my chances, and if yes go through with it what should i present as profs other then the one stated in your blog ? I hope this messenge reaches you thank you very much .
June 19, 2021 at 19:47
I have a good article linked from the FAQ – please read that.

Hello Simon,
I was selected as a winner of DV 2022 with a case number of AS11XXX.
Currently, I’m doing my PhD, here in USA under F1 visa.
Would the process be the same for me? Will I be able to do adjustment of status using form I-485?
Thank you for your valuable time.
June 19, 2021 at 19:48
You can adjust status, yes.
June 18, 2021 at 13:09
Good afternoon sir,
How can i access my case number?
June 19, 2021 at 02:47
Your case number? It should be on the DV selection letter. On the edv site. If you mean the confirmation number then you’ll have to go through the “Forgot the confirmation number” process.

June 18, 2021 at 14:13
The passport I used in the previous entry has expired and i lost it without any copy, but now I have created a new passport that I will use for ds260, what problem can i face.
June 19, 2021 at 19:49
Well you can presumably provide some proof that you had that passport.
June 18, 2021 at 14:17
Hey Brit, I hope you’re doing fine.
My wife and I are having a crisis in our marriage. Long story short, she might not join me in the U.S. We’ve been together for 4 years and got married when I came to know I was selected. We married in December last year. Our case is RFS and we are part of GOH. Eu12k.
1- If we decide to divorce can I show the CO the marriage termination and explain the situation.
2- In case I don’t have yet the marriage termination document @ the interview , can I verbally explain to the CO that my wife will not proceed with me?
3- Lastly, I can change the GC address @the interview right?
I hope that the above will not be neccesary, and that we will resolve our issues.
Thank you for your time.
June 18, 2021 at 16:39
She clearly doesn’t wanna go to the US. I think you are OK, this is clearly not a scam… 🙂
June 19, 2021 at 19:50
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes
June 18, 2021 at 14:20
hi Brit Simon how r u doing today? my case number is 2021AF11xxx in 5/14/2021 i received document processed message but till now no new thing no scheduling for interview . in my country Ethiopia, addis abeba only 7 are interviewed yet and 8 are ready for interview until case number 1400. my question is
1. do i have a hope to be interviewed until September. if i want to know how much Ethiopian cases are lower than mine case number is it possible ?
June 18, 2021 at 16:38
Case numbers are all current.
Say your number became current in month M, you were eligible for interview scheduling in month M-2
If you were not scheduled, you could have filed individual mandamus claim.
Now it is clearly too late.
Good luck…
June 19, 2021 at 19:51
I can’t guess your chance – you just have to wait and see.
June 18, 2021 at 14:50
Hello Sir, is it worth your host contacting his Senator to check on your a specific case with KCC
June 19, 2021 at 19:56
No harm in trying that.
June 18, 2021 at 14:56
Hello Simon,
If i have a document that I can’t get, should i send the explanation letter in the same email as the rest of my documents or should it be sent alone in a separate email?
Is there a possibility to get DQ from KCC with a missing police clearance or will this make me ineligible to reach interview stage?
Thanks
June 19, 2021 at 19:57
Send an explanation with the documents if you are sure you cannot get it. Whether they accept that or not will depend on the reason.
June 18, 2021 at 15:23
HI Simon, i’m DV2022 winner, Police clearances are unavailable for third country nationals who no longer reside in the Kingdom. How can i get PCC and submit to KCC. From Ethiopia
June 19, 2021 at 19:59
Read the reciprocity page.
June 19, 2021 at 19:59
Unavailable means not required.
June 18, 2021 at 16:34

June 18, 2021 at 17:22
Hi brit, about the email question in the DS-260. On my original entry I used one email, the problem is that I forgot that email and created a new one. So what should I put on the question: have you used any other email address in the past 5 years? If I answer yes, I have to write that address, and I don’t remember It. But if I answer No would It be a problem.
– also I live on “country controled by comunism” (Cuba) and we have to pass mandatory militar service, a lawyer adviced me to answer No to that questions cause It may cause denial. But I’m not feeling right about liying, I even hace a certificate that says I acomplish my cervice time. What should I do. Please help me.
June 19, 2021 at 20:04
1. Do the nbest you can. If you truly can’t remember everything, that’s OK.
2. That lawyer is an idiot. Don’t lie about something so important.
June 18, 2021 at 18:06

Hello Brit
I’m a 2022 Dv winner from Liberia . I’ve heard people say one of the ways which you can know if you select unmarried and having no kids which is true is that, no other page will pop up for you to include your derivatives. If you select married and your spouse is not a LPR and you have 1 child then certainly, you will have another one to include your derivatives.
Also if you win and sign in to fill your ds 260, the person who is unmarried will see only one ds 260 for the principal applicant, but for the married individual with a kid, you will see the principal applicants ds 260 with that of the derivatives below.
How true is the above statement? Is that the way to know if you applied married or unmarried
I applied unmarried as I have never been married and No kids. No page popped up for me to include my derivatives and I found only my ds 260 when I was filling the form

The DS260 reacts to the way you answer questions. Just answer honestly.

Hello Birt,
I sent my DS 260 about two weeks ago.
I made small mistakes and now I’m waiting to be unlocked. When I went in today to check if it was unlocked I noticed two things:
1. When I accidentally moved the mouse over COMPETED, the following pop-up window appeared:
“The IV Application (form DS-260) has been submited for this applicant. It will be reviewed when you have submitted all supporting documentation”
My question is:
What is this suapposed to mean? Do I have to submit the documents in order for the form to be considered?
2. When I enter the application in the upper right corner it says the following:
Online application for registration of immigrant visa and foreigner (DS-260)
Personal information 1
OMB CONTROL NUMBER: 1*****
FORM NUMBER: DS-260
EXPIRY DATE: 30.04.2022
ESTIMATED WEIGHT: 1* MIN
My question is:
What does EXPIRY DATE: 30.04.2022 mean?
Thank you in advance Sir!

1. Sending documents is part of the process, yes.
2. Nothing about your case. Ignore it.
June 20, 2021 at 17:42
Thank you, Sir, but should I now send all the supporting documents or wait for the letter from the КCC asking for them? What is your advice? My case number is 2022EU8 ***

Either way is fine.

Hi brit,
My embassy wrote to me yesterday telling the documents i should bring for my interview which is on next week. But i don’t know what they mean by my “Dv application”.
Can you please tell me what it exactly is ?
Thanks
June 19, 2021 at 02:35
They probably mean your Ds-260 confirmation or your interview appointment letter. Bring both just in case
June 19, 2021 at 08:44
Thanks a lot Mario.
June 19, 2021 at 20:13
DS260 confirmation probably.

Hi brit
2021af204xx Cameroon
i sent my documents on the 11th of March 2021
And on the 16th of June 2021i received a mail asking for further documents required .
so I resend my birth certificate, biometric passport page, and police certificate . I have lived in Cameroon all my life but attended some programs in an institution in UK since my school in Cameroon was affiliated to the school in UK. I stayed in Cameroon and wrote exams and passed.
So I have the international certificates.
1) Please do I need to specify that I didn’t leave in UK to get that certificate when sending my documents?.
2) How long can I expect a schedule for interview?
June 19, 2021 at 20:15
1. It would be good to make it clear.
2. I don’t know. You must move fast.

Hi Mr.SIMON,
I have three short questions & they’re:
1. I missed the last of my 4 names on passport in the innitial application. Will it cause straight denail have you seen some CNs approved or rejected with such issue?
2. My post is KLL Malysia how linient is it?
3.Will the CO recheck entry photo requirement and if the photo doesn’t meet disqualifies me. Or it has already been checked if I am selectee?
Thanks YOUR EFFORTS ARE WELL APPRECIATED,
June 19, 2021 at 20:26
1. It’s not a problem if you correct it in the DS260
2. Not enough cases to make an assessment.
3. It’s been checked.

Hello Brit,
I have my interview scheduled for this month. I realized that my date of birth was bot correctly written on my police document i sent to KCC. Do I need to change it or it is minor issue?
Thanks
June 19, 2021 at 20:30
Minor issue.
