Hello Brit,
Thank you foremost for your work.
(1) Can you tell me what “Ready ” means on the save diversity website? Is it cases that are scheduled for an interview already? Or is it cases ready to be scheduled.
BTW, I got a strange email from KCC saying Congratulations and I am ready to be scheduled when my number becomes current and there are available interviews. Also it states this notice does not necessarily confirm that all your documents have been received or are acceptable. I am from SA region SA28xx 2021 in a small caribbean ilse embassy..
Let me attach it here for reference.
(2) what does this message mean.
Congratulations! Our records indicate that your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current and appointments are available. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on region and which case numbers have already been processed.
All DV 2021 interviews must be concluded by September 30, 2021. Please refer to the visa bulletin atย travel.state.govย to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via the email address listed on your DS-260 to checkย dvprogram.state.govย for details.
If your case becomes current and you have not received notification to checkย dvprogram.state.gov, you may contactย [email protected]ย to confirm all of your documents have been received, and that you are ready to be scheduled for an interview. This notice does not necessarily confirm that all your documents have been received or are acceptable.
This notice is not a guarantee of receiving a visa or a visa interview. KCC is a document processing facility and does not make adjudicatory decisions.
ย
Important Notice on Missing Documents:ย You will need to bring all necessary documents to your interview, especially if you have not already provided them to KCC. You do still have time to provide documents to KCC, or an explanation of why a document is not available. As a general rule, any document that is listed as โavailableโ on theย country-specific guidelinesย must be reviewed by a consular officer during your interview. Failure to obtain all required documents will delay your case. If you claimed any of the exemptions to the passport requirement when you submitted your initial entry you must provide documentation or a statement supporting your claim to an exemption.
***On January 25, 2021, the President signed a Presidential Proclamation (P.P.)ย on the Suspension of Entry as Immigrants and Non-Immigrants of Certain Additional Persons Who Pose a Risk of Transmitting Coronavirus Disease.? This proclamation suspends the entry to the United States of certain immigrant and nonimmigrant visa applicants in response to the COVID-19 pandemic
Thank you, Gonzales.

I should also mention, I am part of the lawsuit. On Friday my paralegal sent my docs again following me sending it in March 2021 and by Tuesday I got that message FROM kCC.

Hi!
I am DV 2021 winner with case number AF31XXX but i still did get email request to send documents. Is that possible to be scheduled for interview before September 2021. Thank you!
July 16, 2021 at 03:25
You will have to wait and see.
July 17, 2021 at 07:27
Hello ch I’m also Af31XXX still waiting for my 2nl I guess we gotta stay strong we definitely get it…I’m from Cameroon ..where you at?
July 15, 2021 at 13:52
Dear Simon,
Im a DV2021 winner (2021AS300**). Submitted my DS260. Haven’t heard anything back yet. I need to send in my docs ASAP.
I’m in the process of obtaining my new police certificate, which will be issued be the end of this month. However, I’m afraid that time is running out.
I have an “expired” police certificate that I got in June last year. On the certificate, it says that it is gonna be valid for only 3 months (expired in 30th September 2020). However, on the travel.state.gov page, it says that “Police certificates expire after two years”. I read the “Reciprocity by Country” page and it doesn’t mention anything about expiry dates.
What do you think? Should I wait for my new certificate or should I send KKC my “expired” certificate? Maybe in the eyes of the US government, the certificate isn’t expired, yet?
Looking forward to your reply.
Samnang
July 16, 2021 at 03:27
I think you are wasting time. The police cert will be valid for 24 months.
July 15, 2021 at 14:31
Hi Brit,
quick question – in the DS260 we provide information about all our work experience or only for the last 10 years?
Thank you very much!
July 16, 2021 at 03:28
What does the question say?
July 15, 2021 at 14:39
Hi Brit,
I attended the visa interview today and the consular gave me the tentatively approved yellow paper and mentioned that everything looks good to him and hopefully if everything goes well weโll call you to collect passports. What are the reasons for denials after a successful interview? Also how long will it usually take to issue visa?
Thank you very much,
Gopal
July 16, 2021 at 03:35
It can take a few days at least – just be patient.
July 15, 2021 at 15:20
Hi brit, how you doing!
Is it advisable to send documents while waiting unlocking ds260?( am dv22 selected)
July 16, 2021 at 03:37
What is the rush?
July 16, 2021 at 10:12
Sir Britsimon, tell the DV 2022 selectees to take it easy! With this high level of anxiousness they are likely to be making a lot of unwanted mistakes and subjecting themselves to unnecessary stress!
I believe you should have created another platform solely for them!
July 16, 2021 at 14:22
Hi there Brit Simon.
Now that the statistics for DV2022 are out, are you able to tell me if my case number is too high to expect and interview? DV2022 AF46XXX
July 18, 2021 at 03:52
I will be posting a video about that soon with some analysis. Your number doesn’t see to high, but the problem is all the ongoing impacts from embassies working slowly.
July 15, 2021 at 15:38
Hi Mr Simon
My wife has won DV2022 in Jordan.but me and my daughter 16 years old live in USA on Asylum case.
When she fill up the DS260, (the question asked::if derivatives are leaving with you to USA)
what she should choose?? Should I fill up DS260 as will?? Should I send documents to the KCC?. Thanks
July 16, 2021 at 03:37
The easiest way is for you all to attend the consular interview together.
July 16, 2021 at 17:58
I canโt go back to Jordan after being on asylum in USA. The first thing the consular would say I committed fraud being on asylum and returning back to your country. Please answer my question
July 18, 2021 at 04:07
I answered.
July 15, 2021 at 16:09
Hello Britsimon,
Can 3 Nigerian nationals be issued a DV if charged to a eligible country (GRC) due to spouse country of birth but nationality is Nigeria?
Thank you.
July 16, 2021 at 03:38
Yes
July 15, 2021 at 16:20
Hello Mr. Brit,
Hope you are doing good. Please kindly clarify the following.
I am going to sponsor for a DV winner and I have tax returns as “Married filing Jointly” The total (both of us) annual income meets the 125% poverty guidelines but not meet any of singles. When i m filling the i-134, only my information will be filled as i will be the sponsor, along with submitting the Joint tax return file.
Will that be a problem as far as single income not meets but Joint income which is in the tax return file has met?
I hope my question is clear.
Thank You very much.
July 16, 2021 at 04:52
No problem. Joint income is acceptable.
July 15, 2021 at 17:14
Hi BritSimon, my Husband won DV2022 and out case number is 37XXX. Can we send our documents to KCC though we haven’t recieved any communication from them after submitting our DS 260. Can we submit our documents?

Thank you, we will
July 15, 2021 at 17:49
Hi Simon , i’m DV2022 winner and main applicant. I’ve a diploma and degree but my wife has only graduated secondary school grade 10. My question is, is my spouse’s educational status necessary? and Is she expected to ready her educational document for the interview?ย
Thanks
July 16, 2021 at 04:52
Only the principal selectee needs to meet that requirement.
July 15, 2021 at 20:14
Hello Mr. Simon
Iโm DV2022 winner
Can i attend DV2023 also ? iโm afraid that my case number is too high for DV2022 and as you can see the COVID crisis and how things goes on, so itโs 50/50 chance
July 16, 2021 at 04:53
Yes you can enter DV2023 with no impact to the 2022 case.
July 15, 2021 at 21:11
Hi Mr. Brit
In our country Cameroon we have two types of marriage, polygamy and monogamy.
I’m married to a single woman and we are having 5 children. We signed in for polygamy since we have two choices.
Our interview is in August in Yaounde, my worry is this:
1) will polygamy in our marriage certificate cause visa denial?
July 15, 2021 at 21:51
Britsimon answered similar question already. And he advised to hire a local lawyer. See below;
“Yvan
July 14, 2021 at 7:53 pm
Hi Brit,
My family was recently denied a VISA for having signed a polygamous marriage. In my country this is legal and present though the marriage is polygamous, they are no other wives. Is there a way forward for us to solve. can we petition. The consulate replies was that she was not eligible?”
July 16, 2021 at 07:24
Hello, Ay, Mr Brit has answered mine saying it should not cause denial. I don’t know whether the.other case ois from Cameroon.
I don’t also know their answer to this question in ds260 that says: are you coming to US to practice polygamy? Of you answer yes , it might be the cause of the denial I think.
July 16, 2021 at 18:04
Oh great. That’s true. You should be ok then.
July 16, 2021 at 04:55
It should not. However, I have heard of someone just recently denied for such a case. I’m not sure if that was Cameroon.
July 15, 2021 at 21:16
Hi Brits I have another question I have a passport which applied DV Lottery and the same passport is going to expire December this year, I used the same passport to get police clearance in South Africa which is the country I used to live for the last two years, before submitting DS260 I renewed my passport with updated surname husbands’ surname and I used this new passport fill up DS260.
So can I send the police clearance with the old passport? Or must I now get another police clearance?
July 16, 2021 at 04:56
Send in both passports, old and new.
July 15, 2021 at 21:38
Dear Britsimon
Are you allowed to visit the US on a B1/B2 visa having submitted a DS-260 for immigration? DV lottery selectee AF7XXX
July 16, 2021 at 04:56

July 16, 2021 at 00:58
Hello Simon,
I have a police certificate I have obtained from my previous country of residence, during my last 2 months of stay there. Now I’m in my home country, and never returned to my previous country again.
Can I use that police certificate for upcoming DV-2023 program? Or should I request a new police certificate from that country ?
Thank you in advance.
July 16, 2021 at 04:58
You can use it.

No one cares.
July 16, 2021 at 08:26
Hi Simon , just watched your video on if there is going to be a second draw this year. Hypothetically speaking if there was ever going to be a second draw in any year do you think some people from that draw can get lower case numbers than people from the first draw?
July 18, 2021 at 00:13
No – the numbers in a second draw start from where the first draw ends.

Dear Britsimon,
I am dv2021 winner in asian region and embassy in my home country inquired for rrescheduling my interview date for an earlier date. However, since I am pregnant and baby is due, the interview date was postponed for a month by them. So the interview falls on late August. The rescheduled date was only five days earlier from the original interview date given by KCC 2nl.
My questions are,
1.Does getting a 2nl and being scheduled for an interview gurantee that there are visas available for us?
2. Even though the rescheduled date is in late August, will there be visas available for three of us?
Thank you
July 16, 2021 at 14:33
Don’t worry, visas will be available. ๐
July 18, 2021 at 00:16
1. A visa is allocated to your case, yes, but you could still be denied if you don’t meet the requirements.

July 16, 2021 at 11:23
Hello Simon!
I’m a DV2022 selectee, EU19xxx.
My husband is in the process of obtaining the Spanish nationality (he is Colombian). It’s a long process that was started in the beginning of this year so we don’t know when the decision will arrive, it might be somewhere next year, before the interview. If that decision comes, should we unlock the DS260 to rectify the nationality? Or can we deal with this at the interview?
Thank you!
July 16, 2021 at 14:35
DV charges selectees to countries of birth. Was your husband born in EU region?
July 16, 2021 at 14:40
I’m the selectee, I was born in Romania, he’s born in Colombia, but he will get the Spanish nationality at some point before the interview.
I was worried because of this question of the DS260:
‘Do you hold or have you held any nationality other than the one you have indicated above?’ to which he answered NO, but this might change at the moment of the interview.
July 16, 2021 at 14:49
Well, he can claim your country of birth, if Colombia was not participating in DV2021. I am sure Simon will give better reply.
Make sure your DS-260 is accurate when you fill it out. When you get another citizenship, you can unlock and extend it, you can tell at the time of interview, I know of some people who don’t say it at all. I would not do that personally.
July 16, 2021 at 14:53
Good luck ๐
July 18, 2021 at 03:56
Derivatives are charged to the principal selectees country.
ALWAYS tell the truth.
July 18, 2021 at 00:17
It’s not a problem. Depending on timing you can decide whether to open the DS260 or not later.
July 16, 2021 at 12:01
Hi Brit
I am a winner of DV2021 , I already completed DS 260 and sent my documents couple of months back, Yesterday i got another mail, i really dont’ understand what shall i do mail as follows;
Congratulations on your selection for the 2021 Diversity Visa program!
Please read this email and carefully follow the instructions listed in order to have your application processed as quickly as possible.
You should review the list of required documents for processing below and send those to KCC to review as part of your application package, along with completing your DS-260. You will only be scheduled for interview at an overseas consular post after you have completed your DS-260 and submitted all documents required for your case and your visa rank number has become current.
All documents should be submitted as attachments to your email to ensure they are properly received. We ask that you use the following method to name and attach your files
If you …
AND you…
THEN submit a police certificate from…
Are 16 years old or older
Lived in your country of nationality for more than 6 months at any time in your life
Your country of nationality
Are 16 years old or older
Have lived in your country of current residence (if different from nationality) for more than 6 months
Your country of current residence
Have ever lived in another country for 12 months or more
Were 16 years or older at the time you lived there
The country where you used to live.
Were arrested for any reason, regardless of how long you lived in that city or country, and no matter what age you were
The city and/or country where you were arrested.
Court Record: If you have been convicted of a crime, provide a certified copy of each court record and any prison record.
Collect and submit your documents promptly. Your case will not be scheduled for a visa interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate until KCC has received and processed all required documents and the DS-260. Missing or illegible documents will delay processing of your case. If you cannot obtain a particular document, send an explanation of why you cannot obtain the document, as an attachment in .jpeg or .pdf format, to [email protected], with your case number in the subject line. Diversity visas are numerically limited and there is no guarantee a visa will be available. Only a consular officer can determine, at the time of the visa interview, if you are qualified to receive a Diversity Visa.
July 18, 2021 at 03:49
UNforunately KCC seem to be sending some random, unhelpful, emails. Try contacting them again.
July 16, 2021 at 14:51
I am from Nepal and my case number 112* . In my case I have 3 derivative. In Nepal 2nl received up to case number 2010 in July 14, 2021 for scheduling august interview but I can not receive second letter notification even I received document confirmation mail on July 2020. Sir what can I do in this situation? Can I write any mail to kcc or wait for next lot scheduling.
July 18, 2021 at 04:00
All you can do is wait and hope you get an interview. You can also hope that the lawsuit or new legislation will help.
July 16, 2021 at 15:00
Hello Mr. Brit many thanks for all the support I always watch every YouTube live you do and I love the way you analyze things and simplifies for a non native speaker. Sir may I ask you if someone in the states with a J-1 and his wife J-2 visa can they apply for DV lottery ?
July 18, 2021 at 04:01
Yes they can, of course.
July 16, 2021 at 15:50
Hi, we were totally devastated as we were dv 2020 winners and on 221g for sometime in embassy in sri lanka,,,they had send our passports and stuffs back to us some months ago,,,yesterday we got a call from the embassy. Saying that they are going to sending the remaining civil documents back to us through post as they want to close our dv 2020 file along with others….We are really terrified to hear that as were awaited such a long time, This particular decision has been make according to the state department decision as per their information.Pl we are totally confused as the reserved visa 9095 final verdict has not been finalized. Pl enlighten us .What’s really going on ? Is it a end of the road to us?….
July 18, 2021 at 04:03
That is absolutely normal. DV2020 ended on September 30 last year, and the 9095 visas are not allocated or approved by Mehta. There is a hearing on Monday – see what happens.
July 16, 2021 at 16:46
Hello
I wanted to know if 2022AS1469x considers to be a very high number?
Also ,when will we know if they increase to 80,000 visas this year?
July 18, 2021 at 04:05
That is quite high.
The 80K cannot be helpful for DV2022. If passed, it may affect 2024 at the earliest.
July 16, 2021 at 17:04
Hi brit Simon .
I’m 2021as00026*** . And I’m Goh plaintiff .
My concern is: I am from Kurdistan Region in Iraq and I am an immigration officer working at the airport. Am I admissible to get visa? Do US government trust people like us?
July 18, 2021 at 04:06
Your occupation makes no difference.
July 16, 2021 at 17:10
Hello Brit Simon
We (family of 4 members) had an embassy interview few days ago, and were verbally informed by the CO that our immigration visa has been approved! How patiently waiting to collect our passports with visas, when invited by the embassy.
However, on CEAC web page, three out of four family members have Admin Processing note, while one member (not pricipal applicant) still has Ready note.
Today (16th) was last time they made an update on CEAC web page, but Ready was not changed to AP.
You have any idea why is that?
July 18, 2021 at 04:07
It’s normal. Wait.
July 16, 2021 at 17:24
Hello Brit, I hope you are doing okay.
I have a question. I got my green card on the lottery last year in August and I am living in US ever since. I went to visit my family back home to Europe in April and first half of May. I am now in USA for 2 months already but my father is really sick. I have all of his hospital discharges and diagnosis that I can translate to English. I want to go again to my home country in about 3 weeks and I want to spend 2 months there again. Do you think that will affect my resident status? I can provide all the informations needed to an officer on my way back to US. I

No problem. Read the FAQ.
July 16, 2021 at 18:24

Hi Simon,
Thank you for your efforts during this time that we are at home stretch.
Please advise me on this:
If I did not enter the 2021 lottery with a passport (my country is not legible), can a CO issue me visa if I have convincing and compelling reasons?
Thanks.

Hi brit ,
I am 2021 AS 3K selectee from Nepal . I expect to get my visa in sept if everything goes well . By that time , I will have 2.5 yrs of bachelors degree remaining . Is there any chance I can finish my bachelor here ? I dont want to waste my 1.5 years of university and start over there again .
PS : I know that there is 6 months visa validation and even if we go there just to stamp visa and return we should return before 1 year .

You have no time unless there is some preservation of visas. So – if you get an interview, correct then.

Hi mr.Brit
Someone mentioned a case was denied a visa because of polygamy status.
Sir, I’m so scared, I’m from Cameroon where monogamy and polygamy are practiced
We signed polygamy not because I intented to get a second wife but of cultural background and instigation from parent, I have never thought of getting a second wife.
Mr. Brit I’m so scared of visa denial, I have 6 derivatives and visa denial can put amark on is for ever.
I’m proposing this:
1) can we make a new marriage cert with monogamy and take it to the interview?
2) if yes, what date can we put on it, same date with the previous marriage cert or a recent date?
3) please Mr. Simon according to you what would you have done in this case to guarantee your visa considering that you have no intention of a second wife but marriage cert carries polygamy?
Help me please
Thanks

Do NOT produce any fake documents. If there is an official way to change your marital status, do that.

Hi Brit!
Thank you for all you do. Question about translation.
– I have my High School Grades in my original language (Swedish) and ready to bring my documents to my embassy in case the Goh lawsuit can push my case to the embassy and they refer me elsewhere.
– If I need to transfer my case to another embassy if Stockholm does still not process after Metha rules, I’d need to translate some docs to English so I can get approved elsewhere. Does using an online translation service like immitranslate.com suffice?
It said on their website they are “USCIS” approved for immigration and offers certifications/notarizations.
I heard from some people that you need to use a specific translator in your country, whilst others just has a friend translate for them, so I’m a little unsure of what’s ok and what’s not.

Hi Jack,
I remember Simon said it can be a friend but perhaps the embassy would have specific rules.
Goh counsel keep saying that once order is issued DoS will have to comply. It means if Stockholm cannot interview at all, which I think is not true (do they do other types of IVs?), DoS will proactively arrange interview in other embassies. Maybe Danmark or Norway, maybe they will accept Swedish documents without translation due to above mentioned fact ? It will become known soon, you could already prepare the documents in case your friend will need to translate them.
Good luck ๐

Any competent person can translate your documents.

Thank you Simon and Paulie.
@Paulie they are processing other IVs based on the prioritization, so hopefully a transfer won’t be necessary. Many thanks again!

Hello Brit, Hope everything is fine.
a. Can you please tell me how can I change my sponser, different from what I mentioned in Ds-260?
b. Should I just print the document sent by my sponser(new), and take it to the embassy?
Thanks alot for your guideling. Finally got 2nls after all these months.

Hello Mr brit. Please im going to send ly documents. Passport police certificate and birth certificate. The question is do i have to combine the file and its translation in one file or i send them separately. So is it 3 or 5 files. Thank you sir
July 17, 2021 at 10:56
Separetely each file
July 17, 2021 at 14:27
Thw original and translation 1 piece of document
July 17, 2021 at 14:45
You can also create one PDF with all documents. You can send each document in a separate file. Use your imagination ๐
Make sure to read Simon’s FAQ and watch his videos relevant to this topic to find out about email size

One file is fine or individual. Your choice.
