Hello mr Brit. About 4000 Afghan citizens will come here to Albania, and will stay in Albania until they are provided with visas by the American embassy. They will stay here for 1 year. Do you think this will negatively affect the winners of dv 2022. Thank you

Hi Brit,
i am DV21 – CN33xxx. submitted DS260 and scanned documents months ago, at the earlier days of DV21. however i have not received neither a doc submission request, and my case is not DQed.
provided that, there is a chance DV21 might get additional visas, like the case with DV20 with Gomez, would cases like mine, which is NOT yet DQed and likely that it never will during current fiscal year, have a chance, if more visas are granted for DV21 going forward.
asking this to understand the hopes…
or in other words in Gomez secured visas, are the cases that are not DQed by September2020 having a chance ?
regards,

Maybe.

Hi Brit,
I listened to Charles Kuck and Greg Siskind
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eFVJyAWI80
At the 18:05 mark, Charles Kuck says that if you are DV2022 and have not yet sent your documents, you are screwed.. Is this true?
I am DV2022AF46xxx and we have a backlog in South Africa with PCC and will probably only receive ours in the next few weeks and can only then send it to KCC.
Is it really too late for us to send documents? Our year hasn’t even started yet. I have been listening to every update and video and reading every article and this is the first time someone (with knowledge of the process and lawsuits) mentioned that we “are screwed” if we have not yet submitted documents – that I know of. I know it is necessary to send them as soon as possible but did not know that there is probably no more chance of an interview now.
September 9, 2021 at 04:00
It’s not too late.

hello Simon , and many thanks to all of the effort and time you’re putting to help us and ease our journey.
I have a question or a remark, to be either answered here or in one of your videos
from 2009 to 2012 Asia had extremely high case numbers, the reached over 40k, this year DV2022 Asia reached over 30k, is that like the case of 2009-2012 or are they throwing high numbers just in case?
You can see the data for 2009-2012 to see how crazy high the case numbers were for Asia
question 2 : I’ve asked this many times but I unfortunately can’t find my own question on this platform LOL, the question is are there any identical numbers shared between multirole continents? like if their is AS00004444 could there be a AF00004444 or an EU00004444?
thanks again Simon
September 9, 2021 at 04:01
1. Those high numbers were when Bangladesh was eligible which caused very high numbers with many fraudulent entries.
2. Yes

Hi there. I hoped I could ask for clarification please? I am married, spouse is not a US citizen or LPR. We are not legally separated, the marriage is over but still living under the same roof. I understand I need to select “Married” and include spouse in the application, although I would not intend that they come with me. My question is re: the photo of spouse. I see that the photo has to meet the technical specs the same as mine, however does the photo also need to be recent within 6 months? I know I am not allowed to use the same photo of myself as last years application, but what about for the spouse? Trying to work out how to apply in this situation when I cannot tell spouse of my plans to apply. Your perspective would be appreciated! Thank you.
September 9, 2021 at 04:03
Since the spouse will never be in the interview, using the old photo is probably no problem.
September 8, 2021 at 16:50
Hi Brit,
I’m planning to change my host from the one I mentioned during my interview. Can I make the final changes of the new host (address where my greencard will be delivered) at the POE when I arrive in the US?
Thank you so much.
September 9, 2021 at 04:03
Yes
September 8, 2021 at 17:09
Hi Simon!
If i have been in the US with the Exchange visitor J1 (Summer work and travel program) 4 years ago should I mention the address in the DS-260? ( i am a derivative, not the main applicant )
We’ve already submitted the form and it just came to my mind that I didn’t mention this when I’ve completed it
Could it cause some issues?
September 8, 2021 at 17:26
Forgot to mention, DV2022EU7XX
Stayed 3.5/4 months in the US

Hi Brit,
DV 2021AS58xx will be interviewed? Since no more than 3 weeks time left, no 2NL yet!
September 9, 2021 at 04:07
Probably not. Hope for the lawsuits to win dome preservation of visas.
September 8, 2021 at 20:38
Dear Brit,
Q1:
When I sent the documents, I did merge the translation file with the docs; for example:
Police certificate file has already police cert and its translation.
And I didn’t included the country name when named the files.. so the finale naming :
Casenumber_firstname_lastname_police_certifcate.pdf
Because they didn’t mention it to do so in their email.
Do I have to edit and resend the docs again?!
Q2: my CN is pretty high 22k in asia region..2022
I have received their email asking for the document during august and I submitted files at end of august.
With their automatic reply said it needs between 3-6 weeks to process the docs, are they honest about that ?! May I have an interview before the end of 2021 ?!
Thank you so much dear.
September 9, 2021 at 03:09
Hello Simon
I am curious about case numbers. I was born in Africa and I now live in Oceania. Is my case number for the African region or Oceania region? Thanks From Robin
September 9, 2021 at 04:12
AF
September 9, 2021 at 04:10
1. No
2. No you can ignore the 6 weeks and forget interviewing before your case number is current.
September 9, 2021 at 00:54
Hi Simon
My case number is 2022AF0002xxx8 when should I expect my second email to second documents to KCC and when should I expect to be scheduled for interview?
Thank you.
September 9, 2021 at 04:11
I’m not predicting this year.
September 9, 2021 at 01:30
Can DV2021 winners get mission critical?
September 9, 2021 at 04:12
I don’t know.
September 9, 2021 at 01:34
Hi britsimon, I’m a DV2021 winner from Liberia ?? AF region. CN 12K got DQ on July 31st of 2020. But haven’t receive any 2NL yet.
September 9, 2021 at 04:12
Many others are waiting too. Probably your only hope is the lawsuits.
September 9, 2021 at 03:38
Hello Brit!
I am a DV2022 selectee with a CN AS00004*** and I submitted DS-260 on 2nd June. But haven’t heard back from KCC yet to submit documents. Would you prefer me to send documents to KCC without being asked?
And I included only high school diploma as the highest level of education as they were asking for the highest level of education that u have completed. I am currently doing a BSc. and I didn’t include it in DS-260. What’s ur opinion on that? Should i ask KCC for amendment?
Thanks in advance!
September 9, 2021 at 04:13
Send documents, no need to unlock.
September 9, 2021 at 08:52
My uncle is living in the US. Can he call KCC and ask whether my DS-260 is processed or any further information?
September 9, 2021 at 14:34
KCC are not answering the phones.
September 9, 2021 at 04:38
Hi, I want to ask you about DV2020 previouly. Firstly, I am from Myanmar (Burma) and my Mom won DV2020. So, we tried to continue all the required process such as DS260 form Submitting and sending required docs as it is mentioned by KCC. Our case number was 27***.Pretty behind.
Unfortunately, back in 2020 first quarter, the former US president Trump, banned 7 countries from immigration (including Myanmar). At that moment, the case number for interviewing was activating around 13000. Since that happened, we no longer get any futher updates from KCC even the required docs had been sent for long time. I aslo asked others who are late case number like us and they all are under the same saturations.
So, you have any idea what is going on? Should I keep waiting or it is just gone? Any info about it?
Looking forward your respond.
Thanks
September 9, 2021 at 13:59
I have written many times about this. The Gomez lawsuit will soon have a final order to allow issuance of 9095 additional DV2020 visas. It is not clear which cases will benefit from that, or when that will start – you have to wait until we have the final order.
September 9, 2021 at 04:47
Good morning Simon,
Thank you for the repeat video today. I must admit the sound quality was good.
Please advise me on this – If judge Mehta preserves visas for DV2021:
1) Can he give a final order for the distribution of the visas on the same day of the judgment?
2) Will he leave it to the parties to decide as was the case of DV2020?
Thanks
September 9, 2021 at 14:00
1. He can do what he wants.
2. That is more likely.
September 9, 2021 at 05:53
Hello Simon,
2022AS18X.
1) Documents are sorted and processed in case number order irrespective of the date they are submitted. Correct?
2) Is DS260 also processed as per CN order or does the date of submitting DS260 matter?
3) You explained that there will be delay in processing DS260 if you are from middle east country etc. How long does it normally take for them to conclude background check (roughly) noting that KSA has good terms with USA.
4) kcc have scheduled dv21 interviews for some cases with 3-4 days short notice. Will that be the case for dv22 as well?
5) if no interviews happen in october, will the VB be the same or they will increase the cut off?
6) will kcc do something if we send an email that my low cn has not been processed yet while higher CNs are processed or its no use and they will just reply with their drafted emails?
Thanks in advance.
September 9, 2021 at 14:04
1. Well sort of. Date of submission can mean your documents hit an empty inbox – but if we assume there is a backlog, then case number order is the order of processing.
2. Same answer
3. I won’t get in to “normally” at this time. Nothing is normal right now.
4. Not to start with, no.
5. The VB is published each month.
6. They will ignore your email for several weeks because they have a backlog of emails. Then they will respond with a standard email telling you they will get to it when they get to it.
September 9, 2021 at 06:35
Hi Simon, I hope you are doing well.
Question: I was on J1 visa for less than 5 months, 2 times. Do I need to unlock the ds260 to add the addresses? I thought I need to unclude them only if the stay is more than 6 months. Thank you for your advice!
Best regards,
September 9, 2021 at 14:14
Where did you see the instruction that mentions addresses only need to be listed over 6 months????
September 9, 2021 at 07:02
We are only 200 people that are selected in the future process for the DV Lottery 2022 in my country. The embassy is working, do you think it’s possible for the embassy to proceed all of our cases because we are not so many people? Thank you!
September 9, 2021 at 07:59
replying to Stela
the situation is similar in Jordan, around 900 selectees almost all of them with case numbers over 15K , and the US embassy in Jordan is the Biggest in the region and one of the biggest in the world, it can easily process all of the cases in one month if it was prioritized.
we wish they would make it country dependent rather than continent dependent.
September 9, 2021 at 14:16
It doesn’t work like that.
September 9, 2021 at 07:27
Hello Mr. Simon
What do you think when the new dv registration period will start? Do they start new registration period in general? I mean DV2023 registration!
September 9, 2021 at 14:16
October
September 9, 2021 at 07:34
Hi Brit, I am a winner for DV 2021 and received my DQ on 16 Aug. Do I still have a chance to receive 2NL in Sep? My embassy is working although they do limited DV cases. Just want to clarify whether embassy has to request KCC or indicate KCC that there are slots available for interviews or KCC just sends 2NLs?
September 9, 2021 at 14:17
It is controlled by KCC. It is unlikely that you would get a September interview. Your remaining hope is the lawsuit.
September 9, 2021 at 07:50
hello Simon
any thoughts on the embrace diversity bill published by the white house and quoted below?
“Embrace diversity. The bill includes the NO BAN Act that prohibits discrimination based on religion and limits presidential authority to issue future bans. The bill also increases Diversity Visas to 80,000 from 55,000”
will it be effective this year ( for DV2022) or the next year (for DV2023)?
September 9, 2021 at 14:18
Neither year. It’s a suggested bill, it’s not enacted law. It probably won’t go in to affect (if passed at all) until DV2024 at the earliest.
September 9, 2021 at 07:54
Hi, I’m the principal selectee. I have a question regarding the document preparation procedure. Obviously, I and My husband share the same marriage certificate and I have made a pdf file of that certificate with my name as the file name BUT Do I need to include a second copy of the same marriage certificate with my husband’s name as its name when emailing the documents to KCC?
September 9, 2021 at 14:34
No
September 9, 2021 at 16:37
Hi Simon
Are KCC proccesing ds260 by case number or who sent them first ?
September 10, 2021 at 21:53
Case number is important, but of course they process the ones they have.
September 9, 2021 at 09:40
Hi Simon,
I had Interview today at the Tokyo US embassy, the consular officer said he want to look at my education documents furthermore. Because he is not familiar with Sri Lankan documentation. And also consular officer said he want to check my Degree is in University or Vocational education. (I Graduated From Institute)
After that, the consular officer said my work experience was fine and He keep our passports. Finally, he said your interview is fine. But after the interview, CEAC status was refused because of administrative processing. I’m a little bit worried about this situation. will write down my education and work qualifications here.
Education
Sri Lanka out education system is O/L & A/L , I submitted the following documents.
– [ ] O/L Certificates (First time & 2nd time), I did two times this exam.
– [ ] School Leaving Certificate (When I leaving school I was doing A/L but didn’t finished it because I wanted to started degree program instead of A/L)
– [ ] Degree certificate
– [ ] Transcript
– [ ] Documents related to the degree content, Latter from Institute.
Work
I have 3 years of working experience as a software developer. I submitted Job Offer Latter, Job Contract, Latter of employment confirmation (Company signed), company career profile (it had mentioned my duties).
You have seen many peoples situation like mine, what do you think about this situation Simon?
September 9, 2021 at 14:37
Like the CO – I would be wondering what degree you have. Your work experience might be OK. The CO will decide.
September 9, 2021 at 10:38
Hello Simon
I’ve sent an email to [email protected] to unlock my DS-260 account in Aug 28th it’s been two weeks now and haven’t recieved even an auto reply, is it normal? In my DS form I wrote my parents first and last names but in my birth certificate only there first and middle names are there.
Is this a good format?
Name:
Case number: 2022Af00017XXX
Date of birth: mm/dd/19XX
Dear Sir/Madam
Please unlock DS 260 form as I would like to make some revisions
Thank you
September 9, 2021 at 14:38
They are very behind on emails. It could take several weeks before they get to your email.
September 9, 2021 at 11:10
Hello Simon ,hope you are doing well and thanks for the goof works .Now to my question
My wife and I had our interview for DV 21 exactly a month ago ,had our case under AP with the refuse status .We were sent a mail to submit our passports to the consulate for the final processing of our immigrant visa , which we did a week ago. our status at ceac changed from refused to read yesterday and we receive an email requesting for our presence for another interview, with the email from the Fraud protection unit of the embassy.
Please what could this mean to our case after such a lengthy process.
September 9, 2021 at 14:39
I don’t know.
September 9, 2021 at 11:53
Hello Simon,
I won the lottery DV2021, but my case number is very high like AS00035XXX. DS260 has been sent fast, but interview does not scheduled yet.
Is there still some hope to take interview or Should I give up, even though I acknowledged that ‘Current’ means everyone including high case number can take interview.
September 9, 2021 at 14:40
When did you send documents and did you get the ready for scheduling email?
September 9, 2021 at 17:53
Not exactly sure when..since my agent (law firm) sent out documents, but I am sure that they sent it early July 2020.
September 9, 2021 at 18:09
Thank you for replying!
I forgot to answer your other question.
Does ‘scheduling email’ mean setting up interview date, right?
No, they haven’t received yet, but recommended me to prepare everything including health checkup just in case.
I’m wondering if there are some people like me who has high case number but could go take interview.
I heard that DV2020 and DV2021 (DV2022 might be too) are different situation due to COVID-19. So, last minute invitation for interview would be happen?
Should I contact somewhere to confirm current status?
I would like to know last year’s case and same status like me, If possible.
September 11, 2021 at 19:13
To be honest, you have increased your risk by using the lawyer. Telling you to get a health checkup at this point is bad advice.
September 11, 2021 at 19:10
I hope they actually sent the documents properly. The case number is high, so its possible they never got to your documents. Your only chance is the reservation order we expect in the lawsuits.
September 9, 2021 at 12:32
On the DS 260 form they say “Your answers must be in English and must use English charecters[…] Applications submitted in any other language other than English may be rejected. ”
When I listed the university and high school Diploma received I entered the exact name as it appears on the diplomas such as Diploma de Bacalaureat, Diploma de licenta si master. Should I have translated these names in English? Do I need to unlock the DS 260?
September 9, 2021 at 14:40
No problem.
September 9, 2021 at 13:42
Hi Simon!
still i did not send support document
what is last time to send
September 9, 2021 at 14:43
There is no fixed date. Sooner the better.
September 9, 2021 at 13:54
Hi Brit.
Dv2021 winner with a case number 20xxx DS260 ready since jun and i received document request email and sent all documents since July! Till now I didn’t receive any further emails from KCC do i still have a chance or there is anything i can do ?
September 9, 2021 at 14:44
All you can do is hope for a win in the lawsuits.
September 9, 2021 at 16:34
Greetings Britsimon
I give glory to God. My family and I had our interview today in Johannesburg and SA. CN AF25***. Thank God our visas have been approved. I just want to thank you for all your help Sir. You always guide us when we need explanation of certain things. Thank you and God bless you more and more.
Sir once our Visas are issue are we free to travel since South Africa is still under restriction?
September 9, 2021 at 17:30
Congratulations! You have an automatic exemption from the travel restriction.
September 15, 2021 at 14:07
We were interviewed on the same day as you (Sep9). CO was satisfied with paperwork (and sponsor) also insinuated that our visas have been approved pending medical as they have not captured the medical reports yet (despite the fact that we attended same on Aug 30 already) – I have noted on CEAC that all Jhn cases from last week have been finalised. Tomorrow is a week since the interview and still no word from the consulate and our status remains “refused” on CEAC. Consulate only operates on Wednesday and Thursday every week. Have you received your visas or any feedback?
Our case number is 21AF25k, GOH plaintiff
September 9, 2021 at 16:34
Hello Brit! I’ve been selected for DV 2022 and I submitted my DS 260 as well… but I have a problem because last year while applying I entered my old passport number… and as my passport was going to expire in November of this year… I renewed it after I got to know I was selected for further processing in May and I entered my new passport number in the DS 260 form… Will there be a problem? Should I email KCC and explain?
September 10, 2021 at 21:54
Yes it could be a problem. All you can do is give the old and new passports and see if they will be lenient.
September 9, 2021 at 17:24
Hi Brit,
So I have a slightly weird case. I got married on June 13th (and I had already submitted the DS-260 for my DV2021; Case: AS19XXX). I had selected the Islamabad, Pakistan embassy for interview
Shortly after our marriage – my wife and I both had to travel to the USA (to separate states – shes on a B1, Im on H1B) and my marriage certificate had not been processed yet, and so I didnt unlock the ds-260 and change marital status or add a beneficiary
Tbh i also highly doubted the case would be processed, and didnt wanna risk delaying more by unlocking
Anyway i got a 2nl for an interview few days from now. Will be travelling back to Islamabad from USA for my interview. On your marriage guide, you said i could request the embassy to allow my wife to interview with me. I will be doing that
My question: would it be a problem that I hadnt unlocked my ds260 soon after marriage on June 13 and added her name? And that I am instead choosing to have interview with her through this route? I have pictures of the wedding etc as proof
Please kindly let me know
Thanks a bunch for all your help!
Shariq
September 9, 2021 at 17:49
Follow up question: Also we haven’t started living together – particularly because i have a new job in the US and want to be settled before taking that step. Would this make my case suspicious?
Please let me know your opinion. Many thanks!
September 10, 2021 at 21:55
Yes it could be a problem.
September 9, 2021 at 17:37
Hi Brit, I see lot of ppl getting 2Nls in september month even.. But still colombo embassy ddnt resume interviews and they dnt give a positive reply as well. For people who gt 2Nls n reshedule emails..mission critical is the only option which will force embassy to do the work soon… Do you really think judge will nt give that order as it is the final hope of Srilankan winners? Als is there a way to communicate with judge meheta n inform how our embassy ill treat DV winners? pls help us Brit
September 10, 2021 at 03:19
Is there any way to contact u? I am a DV2022 winner also from Sri Lanka.
September 9, 2021 at 17:39
Hi brit, as in Cuba there is no access to some vaccines such as chickenpox and the approved anti covid requirement for October 1, in case the rumors of Havana embassy reopen are true, what would happen in that case? We will receive them after que enter the US? God bless you thanks on advance. SA6**2022
September 9, 2021 at 17:40
Brit, Im chamath again from Srilanka.. Lot of stories are about colombo embassy not supporting DV winners.. we need to take this issue to relevant parties at least it will b useful for our future winners… to whom we can communicate regarding this?
September 9, 2021 at 19:42
Hi Brit. Currently in USA was selected for 2021 with case number 20121OC xxxxx443. Submitted DS260 back in March received confirmation and then nothing every email to KCC results in a generic email reply to contact USCIS to book interview- every call to USCIS they want an interview number that I don’t have as never received the email or 2NL updated on the login so they wont book an interview. Can you advise on how to approach this as getting desperate as my work visa expires November as well. I also received confirmation I was successful in the 2022 DV. If I was to do an AOS at this late stage is it worth it if they extend the Sept 30 date or am I wasting the $1225 filing fee
September 11, 2021 at 19:17
I think you’ve ruined your chances. You should have filed for AOS months ago, which is the I-485 package, it sounds like you never did that. You might want to try and change to Consular processing in the hope that DV2021 gets reserved visas and further processing is allowed. OR process your DV2022 case.

Hey Brit
The main applicant was denied a Visitors visa in 1998 will that cause a problem ?
September 11, 2021 at 19:18
Probably not.
September 9, 2021 at 22:14
Hello Sir, I’m a Goodluck Vs Biden plantiff. We that haven’t received the document confirmation letter yet ,how will we be dealt with?
September 11, 2021 at 19:19
I don’t know. It depends on the outcome of the lawsuit.

Hi Simon, my case is 2021AS11K and documentary qualified 6 month ago, and I lost chance for interview cuz of Tblisi embassy low capacity. I’m not in good luck list, is there any other chance for me from judge side to save visas for who not applied for lawsuit?
September 11, 2021 at 19:20
The Judge is probably going to reserve visas for issuance after September 30, and in that case you may get a chance.

Dear BritSimon,
First of all thanks for always support and efforts,
I had Dv-2021 interview on August 17, 2021, US embassy. After the interview, the consular officer informed me that the case was subject to administrative processing. And as per the consular officer later email instruction, I submitted the required documents and information.
Now the question is that,
Q.1. if our case AP process is not completed until 30 September, is it possible to process an Administrative case after the 30 September?
Q.2 As per your experience, the AP cases, how long it takes to completed this process?

1. Normally no, that would be your chance lost. However, the lawsuit may affect that this year.
2. Varies.

Hi Mr Britsimon.
Case # OC000003**. I’m waiting on my police record so I can send my documents to the KCC.
I have some questions I’d really like your help on.
1) About my high school documents .I graduated in 2014 from High School. In 2015, I scanned all the certified copies of my high school certificates and transcripts and kept it in my email. Do you think they will still be considered valid if I present them to the Consular Officer in the interview time. Or do I need to ask for a more recent copies of those?
2) In your second to the last live ,you mention there that it’s good for everyone to have form i134. Do I need to provide that form even if I have enough money in my bank to finance myself. My only relatives in the US are retired senior citizens. I don’t think they will be able to financially help me if I were to fill for i34 using them as my sponsors. But I still need your thought on that. Please advise.
3) Is it okay to give certified copies of my birth certificate when they ask for original? Or no?
Thank you for your help.

1. Should be OK.
2. Read the FAQ about that.
3. They must be issued by the relevant authority.

Hi Brit,
How can I change my US mail address that is used to receive the Green cards? Should I ask to change it during the interview ? Or once arrival to USA?
September 11, 2021 at 19:27
At the interview is best or the last chance is upon entry to the USA.

Hi Brit, after my interview the CO just said they’ll call me to pickup when they receive my medicals but CEAC shows refused, what does it mean
September 11, 2021 at 19:29
It is a status which shows they are waiting for missing documents, in your case, the medical.

Hello sir I sent my documents for the kcc but recently I received an additional document I would like to send it how I should proceed cordially
September 11, 2021 at 19:30
If it is a required document you would resend everything to KCC in a new email.
