Hi group, I have completed my DS-260 but I made small mistakes with the dates of my previous jobs, there are differences in 3 days in one job and 1 day in another, do you think I should ask for the de-blocking of the DS-260 because of these mistakes? any advice please!!!!!
June 1, 2022 at 17:46
No need to unlock for this trivial detail.
May 29, 2022 at 10:40
Since I knew I was a winner, I wrote quickly and sent the DS-260, since May 13, 2022 I sent it to the KCC, my question is, approximately when will I receive a response from the KCC approval of my DS-260? My other question is, if I have the case number 3040 when could my interview be?
June 1, 2022 at 17:46
I don’t know. Your number without a year and region is meaningless.
May 29, 2022 at 12:06

Hello sir.. thank you for help God bless you.
I have a question:
1-when the principle applicant has derivatives (spouse &children) can the spouse (derivative applicant) travel in advance, before the principle applicant?
2- can we pay green card fees after we arrive in US?
thank you sir.
June 1, 2022 at 17:48
1. No.
2. Yes
May 29, 2022 at 17:24
Hi Mr Simon,
One of last year winners advises to fill ds-260 earlier as it increases chances.Because of filled documentation last year number 25*** was called to interview earlier than number 10***
We haven’t filled yet ,as You said there is no difference.
Can You please explain this?
June 1, 2022 at 17:49
I have done. Many times.
Your case will not be scheduled until you are current.
May 29, 2022 at 18:01
hello sir. Thank you for your work. it is very helpful to all the dv lottery winners. i am from nepal. i am a dv lottery winner 2023.
i am running a cooking channel in youtube. i created 2 facebook profiles in different names by using my email address to promote my channel . i did not do any bad things or harm to others by these profiles. i did not use any other persons photos in these profiles.. in ds 260 they ask about social media platform details. my questions to you are:
1) should i mention these facebook profiles details in ds 260?
2) These facebook profiles are fake ones. if i mention these facebook profile details in ds 260 will there be a problem?
June 1, 2022 at 17:49
1. Yes
2. Just be honest.
May 29, 2022 at 18:21
Hello brit. i am a lottery winner 2023.i am a self employed person. Therefore in ds 260 i can mention my primary occupation as other. But They ask to provide present employer / school name , address as well. what can i write for these sir ?
June 1, 2022 at 17:50
“Self employed”
May 29, 2022 at 18:37
Hi Simon
My family has now won the green card lottery. I am 19 and my mother has won it. We are beginning the process. My question is, if my parents and I ultimately come to the usa to activate all of our green cards and my parents decide to then commute back and forth from our home country every 6 months to retain their green cards while I live there and let’s say theirs was revoked for an intention not to live permanently in the USA, would this then affect my green card even though I had been living there permanently?
June 1, 2022 at 17:50
No
May 29, 2022 at 18:48
Hey brit. how are you doing? i hope you are doing good. i got through dv lottery. i conduct home visiting personal classes for Advanced level students.i visit students homes and conduct classes. i charge fees from the students directly. in ds 260 primary occupation is asked. My questions are;
1) What answer should i give for primary occupation ? ( Education or other which is more suitable among these)
2) If i enter education or other for primary occupation what answer should i give for present employer or school name and address in ds 260?
June 1, 2022 at 17:51
1. You can choose.
2. If self employed, say that.
June 1, 2022 at 22:19
Dear Simon,
I have a similar issue. Currently
1. I’m readying for a IT degree. This is my final year.
2. I completed an internship last year.
my questions are,
1. I should choose STUDENT as my primary occupation, right?
2. for previous education, what should I select? High school diploma or University No degree?
3. For the number of educational institutes attended, is it 2 [high school + my current university] or 1 [just the high school]?
And on my birth certificate my mother’s and father’s birthdays are incorrect (I noticed it today while filling out the DS 260).
1. will that be an issue?
2. What do you recommend for me to do? try to edit the birthdays in my birth certificate or just enter the dates in my current birth certificates?
June 2, 2022 at 19:47
1. Yes
2. University No degree
3. 2
4.1 No
4.2 Use your judgement.
June 3, 2022 at 16:39
Dear Simon,
Thank you for your response.
I added my current university for the present section of the education and work category. When I tried to add my university details it generates an error since I am a current student at the university and the end date is in the future.
What should I do to solve this issue?
1. change institutes attended to 1 and remove university details since I added it to the present section
OR
2. add the current date as the last date at the university?
May 29, 2022 at 19:03
Mr BritSimon, would it be too late at the stage to switch interview location from Accra to Abidjan? CN 2022AF28XXX. Thanks for your help!

Am also from Ghana, can I get your number so that we can talk, mine is 26**** and am also confuse
June 1, 2022 at 09:34
I am in Ghana and been expecting an interview date. After applying for the D 260 not heard back from kcc. I am around 26000. Also curious to know what process to follow. I submitted the visa form. Mail the required document to Kccdoc. But till date nothing
May 29, 2022 at 22:19
Hello BritSimon,
Thank you for your great effort to help people,
After I submitted my DS-260, KCC never asked or requested my supporting documents, then KCC scheduled my visa interview. They schedule me an interview without supporting documents? Is that normal and OK? Why is that in my case?
June 1, 2022 at 17:52
Document procedure was removed for DV2022.
May 30, 2022 at 11:19
Hi Simon,
My wife is the principal applicant, she graduated from dentistry faculty (2007) worked as house-officer (Dentist in teaching hospital) for almost 2 years (1/1/2008 – 12/31/2009), we then moved to Saudi Arabia where she passed their medical registration exam in 2011, unfortunately due to many issues related to her health and her difficult pregnancy she could not be able to work as dentist since then!
She is fond with cooking and had her plans to start a restaurant but, we could not due to her visa status in Saudi Arabia (she is no allowed to work) she has to change her visa which is quite difficult!
I am seeking your advice on which option she has to put for profession she plan to work in USA, she has serious plan to have her own food service business but she did not have any official record to support this, currently she is unemployed and we are concerned about which option to choose to increase our chances of passing the interview? shall declare as medical/health as her plan in USA or food services?
Your advice is truly appreciated
June 1, 2022 at 14:46
Salam.
In which city of Saudi Arabia are you residing?
I am in jeddah & a dentist too. Have you won in 2023.please contact 0501608983
June 1, 2022 at 17:53
It doesn’t matter – she can say whatever she wants.
May 30, 2022 at 11:23
Hi simon,
I want to transfer my interview to amman embassy, I send email to kcc they reply me
‘’Thank you for your inquiry.
KCC is not authorized to assist you with this issue. Please contact the American Embassy/Consulate with jurisdiction over your area for further information.”
I send to consulate but till now no reply,
Do i need to send again to kcc ??
Thanks
June 1, 2022 at 17:54
No – they already answered. They are saying they cannot help.
May 30, 2022 at 11:54
Hi there..
I have a very important question:
the principle applicant dv2023 has a medical conditions as follows :
– preformed an operation to remove a tumor from the thyroid and put on medication for life for that.
-light Asthma (smoke and dust sensitivity) and using inhaler
– pain in the left shoulder as a result of a rupture of the left shoulder muscles and inflammation of the tissues.
– something in the liver that require honey as medication only
now how does that affect the principle applicant during the interview?
June 1, 2022 at 17:55
Not at all.
May 30, 2022 at 12:54
Dear Simon,
The place of birth in my passport is wrong.
1. Is it a big issue to be worried about ?
2. Is it okay if I fill the ds 260 with CURRENT PASSPORT information and submit, since its a long process to get it change ?
3. Should I need to alter my passport information ( about the place of birth ) before the interview ? what do you suggest. Alteration or getting a new passport ?
good day.
thank you,
June 1, 2022 at 17:57
1. Not if it is in the correct region/country.
2. Yes
3. Depends on how badly incorrect it is.
May 30, 2022 at 14:55
Hi Simon, i have mistakenly answered NO to this question:
‘Have you belonged to, contributed to, or worked for any professional, social, or charitable organization’?
I’ve actually worked for 2 months for a union/association and I have mentioned it in the employment history anyway.
It it a valid reason to unlock the ds-260 and correct it? Thank you for your help.
June 1, 2022 at 17:56
No need.
May 30, 2022 at 15:33
Hi Simon,
I am happy to confirm that I have finally received my passport with the DV1 Visa printed on it.
2022EU17K – Interview in Dublin.
Just to confirm, the only thing left to do is to pay the 220$ fee and activate the visa by entering the US – is that correct?
Just wanted to thank you once again for help. Wishing you all the best.
Take care!
June 1, 2022 at 18:23
Congratulations!
Yeah pay the fee (before or after travelling) and enter – that’s it!
May 30, 2022 at 19:09
Good afternoon Mr. Simon,
I hope you are doing well!
I am writing you with a kind request to get some advice on our DV case.
I am DV2022 selectee and my case # is 2022EU11k. As of today, the interview at the U.S. Embassy has not been scheduled yet. Recently I become a DV2023 selected as well. And the case # is 2023EU10k. Now, I am wondering If I should submit my DS-260 form. Will this affect my current case? Could you please suggest whether I should wait or submit the ds260 for DV2023?
Thank you in advance!
June 1, 2022 at 18:27
No harm in submitting the DV2023 case.
June 3, 2022 at 19:29
Thank you! I will submit the DS-260 form then! Have a wonderful weekend
May 31, 2022 at 06:13
HI SIMON
We Ethiopians are very frustrating by the way the embassy treat us. Still there is no 2nl for July. Based on your recent knowledge about 2nl dispatching can we expect before the next VB?
FROM THOSE THE ONE WHO IS HIGHLY DEPRESSED.
THANK U
June 1, 2022 at 18:29
I don’t know.
June 2, 2022 at 08:03
what’s you’re case number bro?
May 31, 2022 at 10:45
Hi Brit, Could you please be kind enough to provide me an answer for this query.
If we go abroad (for a smaller time period, say1 week – visiting visa or work visa for one year) after submitting the DS260 document, do we need unlock the document again and update the below section to YES ?
Have you travelled to any countries/regions within the last five years?
June 1, 2022 at 18:29
No. It was correct when you submitted it.
May 31, 2022 at 13:27
Hello Simon,
I think my question was lost or was not published due to some reasons.
My husband has been selected for a further DV-2023 processing, but we realized that we made a mistake in my name (I’m a derivative) by replacing a name with a surname. Currently it looks like John (Surname) Doe (Name), but the correct is Doe (Surname) John (Name). We filled a DS-260 with correct data. No mistakes in a primary applicant’s name.
Do we have a chance to get our visa approved based on your experience?
Have you faced positive/negative results with this type of mistake in your practice? (replacing names).
Thank you in advance.
I really appreciate your help.
June 1, 2022 at 18:31
This will normally be OK as long as the DS260 is correct.
May 31, 2022 at 14:43
Hi Brit, my wife won the DV lottery 2023, she is 2023EU20XXX and we both live in the US with an E2 investor visa while my older son is at university with an F1 visa. We live in Florida but my son lives in Indiana where his university is. For the AOS process can we choose Indiana instead of Florida assuming that in Indiana the USCIS services will be less busy and faster?
June 1, 2022 at 18:32
They choose the center based on your home address (principal applicant)
June 1, 2022 at 01:14
Hey Simon, 22OC24XX – Auckland, NZ – Submitted DS260 May2021 for CP in Auckland
I originally selected CP in Auckland and recently decided to switch to AOS (posted the dv admin check which was cashed). Now I’ve emailed Suva to get transferred there (17th May). They emailed KCC asking for my file.
Still waiting for a 2NL. I think my file has been flagged as AOS at KCC which is why they are not sending me to Suva. Do you think this is what has happened?
I’ve emailed KCC 3 times asking to switch back to CP with Suva as my embassy. Is there anything more I can do to get transferred to Suva? A lot of people have been transferred while I’ve been waiting.
June 1, 2022 at 18:40
Yes they are probably expecting you to adjust status. It could be a few weeks before they open any email. Take your next step carefully as you don’t want to add even more confusion. If you are in the USA then there is still time for AOS.
June 1, 2022 at 01:35
Hi Simon.
I graduated high school in 2001 and have a certificate of graduation stating that I completed year 12. When ordering my replacement VCE certificate this year to take to my interview I was informed that I was actually one unit short of VCE completion. Is my year 12 completion enough to show at the interview or will they dismiss me based on non completion of VCE and if so would enrolling to complete the last unit needed help me in any way?
In short, which is required to be successful in being permitted into the USA, completion of year 12 or completion of VCE?
Paul,
VIC, Australia
June 1, 2022 at 18:44
I don’t know your local education system well enough to answer. The requirement is interpreted locally, but is supposed to be the point at which an American child becomes able to go to college (Uni).
June 1, 2022 at 05:54
Hello Sir,
I am a single applicant and I have already submitted my DS-260. Actually I was planning to getting married this year but I thought of postponing it because if I add a spouse I have to find a sponsor who has an income to sponsor two people. Even mys3lf couldn’t find a sponsor yet. What if I get married after the issuance of visas? What if I faced the interview as a single person that entered to states as a married person. Will it be a problem? And how long do3s it take to bring my spouse. Can you explain me the best option Sir.
June 1, 2022 at 18:45
It is usually better to accelerate marriage plans because the DV process is fast and inexpensive compared to other options.
June 1, 2022 at 15:28
Hi Brit.
I’m a winner of DV2023 case number 2023AF14xxx.
Bfr I played, i had a typo error on my names on my passport. Eg James Bond was mistakenly spelled as Jamesbond. ie two name joint together as one. Originally when entering I used the correct order of names
James Bond. As I speak, I’m currently working on a new passport which will be out anytime soon.
My question is , what should I do now that the typos passport which I used during my entry is still valid until 2025 and a new one almost at hand? which of them should I send during documents and which should I go with during interview pls . Also will it pose some problems for me ?
June 1, 2022 at 16:01
hello Mr Simon I have a concern indeed I am a dv of 2022 married father of two children the children live in my country of origin Cameroon. I lived in Ukraine with my wife of Cameroonian nationality before and we are Ukrainian permanent residents, but of Cameroonian nationality. when the war started we had fled ukraine for france where we obtained a temporary protection of 6 months which does not allow us to leave the european union. my concern is that if indeed I questioned the kcc another day they answered me that soon I will be programmed. as I cannot return to my country I would like to know if it is possible to request an interview transfer here in France if if I receive my second if yes how to proceed
June 1, 2022 at 18:46
If you now live in FRance you can interview there. Let KCC know that is what you want to do. But hurry.
June 1, 2022 at 18:06
Hello Mr. Simon,
With Regards,
I have a question regarding the submission for DV2023. Before the announcement of the results of lottery my wife got pregnant and she has been selected for DV2023. The delivery of child may be nearby this November.
We both really confuse regarding submission that now we should fill DS260 form for us or after the delivery of child, because if now we are submitting we have to unlock it again, and if after the delivery child’s passport may be took more time to get and may be got more delay.
Because some people quoted online that it will be delayed if we are submitting after our child delivery.
Hope you can assist us more better than everyone regarding this confusion.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Ravinder
June 1, 2022 at 18:47
Submit now without the child and unlock/add the child once he/she is born.
June 1, 2022 at 19:09
I am very grateful for your valuable reply. May God Bless you.
Kind Regards.
June 1, 2022 at 18:13
Hi Simon
I am 2022OC6xx. I emailed [email protected] and asked if I could have my interview scheduled in Melbourne due to the limited services available in Sydney. They replied telling me that they are temporarily conducting interviews in Melbourne to address the reduction of services in Sydney and they will accommodate all cases that are backlogged asap but they can’t provide estimates wait times and they will contact me when my case is scheduled for an interview and when they do so they will inform me if it will be in Melbourne or Sydney…
I have 2 questions for you
(1)If they do not schedule me for an interview will I be able to join a law suit after the September deadline or can I and should I join one now?
(2) I know Suva have already taken some interviews for Sydney, should I request to have my interview in Suva?
June 1, 2022 at 18:50
1. Once the deadline is passed you cannot join the lawsuit.
2. That has worked well for a number of people, but also Sydney has just started scheduling some cases (with a preference for lower case numbers). So – your choice.
June 3, 2022 at 05:18
Hi Brit and Shaun,
Glad you have received a reply from someone in the Sydney consulate as I’m still waiting for a reply to all my emails (poor customer service). My case no. is 2022OC7xx and still waiting.
Is it true that Sydney have finally moved offices to North Sydney and now conducting DV interviews?
Look forward to your thoughts on the Syd ey or Melb consulate.
June 4, 2022 at 14:15
Sydney have started accepting some interviews – some for as early as June.
June 1, 2022 at 18:41
Hi simon, i want to transfer my interview and the case is processed, if i contact the embassy and they accept then it will be shifted ??
June 1, 2022 at 18:51
I don’t know.
June 1, 2022 at 18:45
Hello!
I’m assisting a friend who is a DV-2023 selectee, case number 2023AS7XXX, who is currently in the United States in status (STEM OPT, F-1). In order to proceed with adjustment (as opposed to consular processing) do we need to notify KCC in any way, or complete the DS260 differently than a consular processing selectee would? Thanks!
June 1, 2022 at 18:52
There is a good explanation of everything you need to know on the thread below – check the link from the first post.

June 1, 2022 at 19:44
hello sir simon i come to you for a concern indeed i am a winner of the dv 2022 africa but living in ukraine. i am cameroonian and married father of two children my children live in cameroon my wife and i in ukraine and permanent resident in Ukraine. with the war we fled for france my wife and me where we received temporary protection which does not allow us to leave the european union another day i wrote to the kcc to find out my status they replied that my ds260 is blocked and that it can no longer be open that I will be scheduled from here can our concern is to know if we can ask to transfer our interview to France already having our second letter and for the children if it is possible that they do this in the country in Cameroon and how proceed to request the transfer of interview to paris if it is possible
June 2, 2022 at 19:44
Email KCC and ask them if you are being scheduled in France as you live there now.
June 2, 2022 at 01:45
Hello BritSimon.
1. My Case number is 2023AF24XX and wanted to know if that is a high or low number in terms of how soon I should expect my case to be current.
2. My current passport is expired and in the process of renewing it and not likely to get it done until August 2022 .
Will waiting till then to complete and send in DS-260 be late for the case number given.
i don’t think it is prudent to submit the DS-260 with the old passport information. Am I right?
3. What in your experience is the best way to handle missing documents like birth certificates and previous passports with visa stamp and other previous INS entry documents that shows one’s arrival dates in the US etc. I’m using AOS.
4. With regard to previous work experience, within US if one has worked as an independent contractor for a few companies, what is the best way to state this on employment history section. Will simply SELF-EMPLOYED/INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR be enough?
I’ll appreciate your responses
June 2, 2022 at 19:51
1. It’s low. Certainly possible for interview later this year.
2. If the old passport is expired already you cannot use it, but you can use another official ID for the DS260.
3. You need to get official copies of critical documents.
4. Yes
June 2, 2022 at 20:28
Thanks for responses.
1. Which other official IDs are acceptable in lieu of passport to use for DS-260
2, Since you say my number is low, will submitting ds-260 in September 2022, after getting new passport, be little late
3. I haven’t found it any of the instructions but do you happen to know if I need to send birth cerificates with DS260 OR does it come later in the process?
4. Does being independent contractor for a company for a considerable period without naming company qualify as self-employment and can be stated as such without providing additional details of address etc?
June 4, 2022 at 13:57
1. That varies by country – use your common sense.
2. Not “late” as such, but that would obviously mean a later interview.
3. https://youtu.be/XYmaOikEZJo
4. Self employed is fine.
June 2, 2022 at 02:04
Hi Simon! Thanks always for helping! I wanted to ask a question, I have suffered from syphilis in the past, I have also received treatment, but even in the results it continues to show that I have suffered from the disease with a low number of reactive cerology! What would happen then? Will I be ineligible for the DV? Do I need to show any proof that I have treated the disease? I don’t know what to do, I’m kind of lost in the procedure in this case!
June 2, 2022 at 19:51
If treated it is not a problem.
June 2, 2022 at 04:25
Hi brit;
if you Unlocked DS260 and resubmitted it ( eg: submited on 12 may, relocked and submitted on 28 may), Does that mean your submission time now (in terms of priority) is the 28th May which mean you fall behind those submitted their DS earlier?
June 2, 2022 at 19:53
Submission date is not important for a priority, so the question is invalid.
June 2, 2022 at 05:46
Hello Sir,
Is it okay to getting married and unlock DS-260 to add the spouse’s details. Because I applied as a single applicant but I actually planned to marry in this year. I have evidence to prove that this marriage is a genuine one. Will this matter become serious in the interview? Does the marriage affects as a disqualification?
June 2, 2022 at 19:54
Plenty of people get married during the process. As long as the marriage is genuine (showing proof) it should be fine.
June 2, 2022 at 06:17
Dear Sir.. If we don’t have an affidavit of support I-134 but we have a bank account instead is that gonna be enough and the affidavit of support will not be required any more?
thx
June 2, 2022 at 19:55
You are asking so many vague questions, many of which have a common sense answer. You ask, will the bank account be enough. Well pretty obviously it depends how much you have in the account.
June 2, 2022 at 07:59
Hello brit I am a dv 2023 winner and when I fill out the ds-260 form, in the last part when it asks me to put in my case number I write it without the leading zeros and now on the confirmation page my case number appears without the leading zeros. Would that be a problem? Should I fix that?
June 2, 2022 at 19:57
That is fine.
June 2, 2022 at 08:10
Thank you Simon for your usual support, It means a lot. I have another question please. I used a US phone number around 4 years ago, I’ve used it for almost 3 months but I don’t remember it in the section “Have you used any other telephone numbers during the last five years?” what should I do?
June 2, 2022 at 09:11
Hi Brits, i am confused between the form I134 with the form I 864 which to use to give to my sponsor to sign, I am DV winnerAF, besides these two forms and W2 , 1040 what are other forms must I give to my sponsor to sign, please assist
June 2, 2022 at 11:10

Greetings Mr. Brit,
Hope all is good on your side.
My case number is 2022AF26XXX
I submitted my DS-260 in Oct. 2021.
I contacted KCC recently, and they sent me this reply:
Thank you for your inquiry.
Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvprogram.state.gov..
As I understand this means they are waiting for my embassy to tell about its available capacity, so they can schedule me.
As an expert in DV, what think about this reply?.

Yes your chance of getting an interview depends on embassy capacity versus the backlog at that embassy.

Hi Simon,
Thank you very much for the work you are doing! Below is a question in the DV application.
“Do you seek to enter the United States for the purpose of performing skilled or unskilled labor but have not yet been certified by the Secretary of Labor?”
What does skilled labor mean here? What occupations fall under this? I’m an IT professional specializing in Information and Cyber Security. Do you think it would fall under skilled labor?

No need to stress over that question because it doesn’t apply to DV cases. I typically recommend answering “no”

Dear Brit,
I would be grateful if you could provide me with some information.
My wife, two childrens and me are holders of valid B1/B2 US visas. Our visas expiration date is february next year. We allready toke two trips to US in 2013 and 2019 as a tourists for visiting our relatives and friends there. I found out recently that I was a winner of dv lottery for 2023 fiscal year, which made me very happy. I’ve already taken steps provided for in the instructions on the official website of the dv lottery, and have completed and sumbmitted form DS-260 for us. I also got confirmation letters of submission of the immigrant visa and alian registration application for me, and my family. Given that all four of us already have B1/B2 visas, does that change anything in our case in terms of obtaining a new, immigrant visa, or would it be correct and permissible to, say, travel to the US now based on the visas we currently have and we continue to complete the procedure there as winners of the dv lottery, if we will go trough the procedure faster that way, or should we just follow the instructions and end our case at the embassy in our home country after we get an appointnent from KCC? My case number is EU21xxx is that relatively high number or not?
I ask all this questions because of further planning, especially because of the school for children, or the desire that children do not lose one school year in process of relocation.
Thanks in advance for your reply.

You have a long time to wait because of your case number and you cannot enter the USA on a B1/B2 with a plan to adjust status later. I suggest you process via CP.

Hi Sir,
My sister from Tajikistan case number 28*** has entered her patronymic name (soviet union format includes father`s name as middle name) in DV entry form for herself, her husband and her son, where according to passport there is no middle name for any of them. We have emailed KCC regarding this issue, they just responded to fill the names according to the passport in the DS-260 form. We have been asking people who have won Green card and are already in the USA. according to them there is a 99% of getting the VISA rejected because of the patronymic name added as middle name to the DV entry form. Shall she still continue applying for DS-260 and keep collecting her documents for the process, or whether you have any information about such cases, what is the possibility for them to get their Visa rejected because of the error?
Thank you for your response beforehand

I don’t agree with the 99% number, but the KCC answer is correct. The DS260 should match the passport.

Hi Simon,
I am a DV2023 Selectee from Africa. My son who is a derivative has a hyphen in his first name and we used the hyphenated name to complete the initial dv lottery itself. The name is hyphenated on both his birth certificate and on his passport. However, the DS-260 form does not accept the hyphenated name and saw it as an error till I deleted the hyphen and put a space between the name, before I was able to proceed.
Please is that going to be a problem with the processing of his documents or at the interview?
Thanks for your prompt response.
