2022EU21XXX,
I have just received an email saying my case is ready for interview. I have some questions:
1) When do I need to get covid vaccine? Before going to the EEUU? Or before the interview? Kids need to be vaccinated (5,4,3). How do I know which vaccines are compulsory.
2) How long does it take to be schedule for the interview in normal circumstances? Should I contact the embassy?
3) Should the documents be in english? or in the official language of the embassy? If I get a police certificate from another country, do I need to translate it?
4)Do all the members need to pay a fee for the interview? Or kids don’t need to?
Thank you very much,
June 2, 2022 at 20:14
1. ASAP. The physician will decide what vaccines are needed.
2. Varies. You wait for KCC
3. It’s surprising that in the year you have waited you never read the instructions. Read them.
4. Each person pays.

Hi Britt. Thanks for you support. I start feeling out ds-260 and my passport expires next year in May. I was wandering should apply for new passport now and fill out with newer passport details or should I apply with current passport and bring new passport to the interview?
June 2, 2022 at 20:15
Apply now with the current passport.
June 3, 2022 at 19:20
Some of Egyptians who are not current received a reply from KCC that their case is current. Is this normal! Or this is the new visa bulletin coming in a fee days already uploaded to the system?
June 4, 2022 at 14:44
Let’s wait and see.

Hi Brit.
I’m a winner of DV2023 case number 2023AF14xxx.
Bfr I played, i had a typo error on my names on my passport. Eg James Bond was mistakenly spelled as Jamesbond. ie two name joint together as one. Originally when entering I used the correct order of names
James Bond. As I speak, I’m currently working on a new passport which will be out anytime soon.
My question is , what should I do now that the typos passport which I used during my entry is still valid until 2025 and a new one almost at hand? which of them should I send during documents and which should I go with during interview pls . Also will it pose some problems for me ?
June 4, 2022 at 14:08
You use accurate names, and accurate documents.
June 5, 2022 at 14:18
Hello Sir
I won Dv 2023
I’m a Liberian
I made a mistake while filing in the Ds260 form and submitted it
The mistake was about my parents place of birth. The person that helped me filled up the form put Guinea instead of Liberia.
Is it possible to correct this mistake?
Thanks Sir await your reply
June 9, 2022 at 20:20
You could unlock and correct that.
June 3, 2022 at 00:26
Hello Simon,
We have selected DV 2023 me and my family.
We have submitted our DS-260. Do you advise me to reopen my Ds-260 form again Or I will wait to interview?
My problem when I fill Ds-260 form for my wife I make mistake it
Previous address (1)
Saudi Arabia Jeddah
From- March 2014
To- September 2014
Previous address (2)
Ethiopia Addis Ababa
From- October 2013
To- “May 2014”
Her correct travel from Addis Ababa to Saudi Arabia is not in May 2014 the correct month is march 2014
She have imigration stamp in and out in the old passport shows correct date.
Also our
“Marriage certificate”
From Ethiopia Embassy in “Saudi Arabia” at the
Date April 9 2014
Do you think that it’s big mistake? Should I reopen the Ds-260 form and correct it? Month MAY to March Or waiting interview?
June 4, 2022 at 14:08
I wouldn’t unlock for that.
June 3, 2022 at 07:17
Hello Simon, do you have any idea when we need to expect KCC asking for documentstion, and how thay are going to contact us. Thanks. My numer is 14k Eu
June 4, 2022 at 14:19
If they are using the document procedure they would start sending emails fairly soon.
June 5, 2022 at 00:10
Helo simon
I followed you since i got selected for dv 2022
Thankyou for all the guidance you give to people
My husband case number is in between AS10800 from nepal
We are currently in japan
Still haven’t got mail for the interview
Is there a way that we could schedule our interview
Do you think we have any chance
June 9, 2022 at 18:42
Your case number is not current. I don’t know whether it will be made current or not.
June 6, 2022 at 23:02
Hi, Brit my wife was selected for the dv 2023 but she lives in the UK with my kids I live in Ghana, is possible to get my interview in Ghana whilst they have their interview in the UK as that will save us travelling to one location for the interview, and how do I go about it
June 9, 2022 at 21:48
No. One location.
June 3, 2022 at 08:03
My girlfriend has case number 2023AF10XXX. We intend to get married in July and submit our DS260. I have enough savings ($40k in bank + $50k retirement savings). But my girlfriend doesn’t have any savings. My question is:
1) Do I need to transfer money to her bank account as she is the primary applicant? I hope they don’t feel I paid her for marriage.
We both are from different country, so having a joint account is not possible because it is only allowed for citizens of same country.
2) Do we need a sponsor (i-134) even if we enough savings?
June 4, 2022 at 14:20
1. No. However, you can expect scrutiny about the relationship. If the relationship cannot be shown to have existed before the lottery win they will suspect fraud.
2. Not usually, no.
June 5, 2022 at 18:11
Thanks for the reply.
1. It is a genuine relationship and don’t have any issues proving it. We got photos, travel receipts for 3-4 countries etc before the lottery registration.
2. Great, won’t have problem getting a sponsor but if savings (bank statements) can suffice, it is better.
June 3, 2022 at 08:40
Hello Sir,
I am selectee for DV 2023 EU region and I can’t find a person that would like to help me and guarantee for me from the US.
My question is – what amount of money do I need to have on my bank account in order to be my own guarantee?
Is this a safer option to go for?
Thank you.
June 4, 2022 at 14:24
At least $10k per person, but in some embassies they would expect more. An I-134 is much safer.
June 3, 2022 at 10:28
Dear Simon,
I studied in high school from 2008 to 2011 and I did not get hight school diploma, after that I studied design in private institute from 2011 to 2013 ,after that I applied for high school exam then I did exam and I got high school diploma (12 years)
After that I went to university I studied 2 years but I did not get degree
So , if officer ask me in the interview day , what is my high level of my education, what should I answer him?
Should I say , university no degree or high school +diploma
In ds 260 I put university no degree .
Thank you

Just the truth.
June 3, 2022 at 13:06
Hello BritSimon. I’m dv23 winner. My spouse has two Facebook accounts but she can not access one. Therefore, while filling her DS260, I put one of her Facebook accounts SINCE she can’t access the other one. Will this be a problem that needs unlocking of her DS260?
June 4, 2022 at 14:27
No
June 3, 2022 at 13:13
Hii dear Brit, thank you for your amazing content.
I have won the DV 2023 & my case number is AF43xxx. The name & Date of Birth on my high school certificate is different from the name & Date of Birth on my other documents(Passport, Birth Certificate, DS260, DV application).
My right name for example is Kamal John Doe & my correct date of birth is 01/01/1999(that’s the info on my Passport, Birth Certificate, DS260, Police certificate), but the date of birth on my high school certificate is 24/07/2001 and the name is Kamal Joohn.
I have gone to the ministry of Education in my country and told them my issue and I requested them to correct the info in my high school certificate. But they say they can’t change that information once certificates have been printed.
I filled the right personal details in my DS260. I used the right name & date of birth as it appears on my passport. And also on the question of Do you have other names? I put the name(Kamal Joohn) that’s on my high school certificate. I have gotten that tip from your DS260 guide article.
That’s how I submitted my DS260 and I believe that alias name will handle the name error on my documents when I go for the interview.
My big worry is with the wrong Date of Birth on my high school certificate and why it doesn’t match my Passport & Date of Birth Certificate. I really don’t know how to handle that sir. I hope you can understand my issue here.
I want to over prepare for the interview & not have any unnecessary obstacles. What would you have me do? Any help or advice on this matter is highly appreciated. Kindly help.

Hello
I’m dv 2022 winner AS148×× no apportionment yet today I had my first newborn baby
The birth certificate will take 4 day to come out and passport will take 2 weeks what should I do
Thanks
June 4, 2022 at 14:31
Get the documents then email KCC and let them know you need to add the baby.
June 3, 2022 at 14:20
What is the meaning of NFN that appears on my name ? Like this is my name nkehmbeng Ernest Tazanu but on my lottery result form it was written like this Nkehmbeng, NFN Ernest Tazanu.
June 4, 2022 at 14:32
It means you ticked/checked the “No First Name” box on the entry.
June 4, 2022 at 18:06
Can that cost me any problem during my interview?
June 3, 2022 at 18:27
Hi Sir, I am a green card holder and a single mother of a little girl and I will have another baby soon, I would like my mother to come help me for couple months when I will give give birth. My questions are: 1. Is the doctor’s letter good enough to present to the embassy the day of the interview or I need to write an invitation that can go with the doctor’s letter
2. What other documents I can provide to my mother for her to bring to the embassy for the interview. Thanks
June 4, 2022 at 14:44
The DV interview has nothing to do with your desire to bring your mother. In fact, if you give the impression that you NEED your mother there, you will create the suspicion that you cannot avoid becoming a public charge. As a Green Card holder you do not have the right to invite your mother to the USA.
June 3, 2022 at 19:34
Hello sir
thank you for all the support and help.
I have a question.
As the principle applicant I wrote in the DS 260 my father’s full name as it shows in his ID card like this (ALI NASSER ABDULLAH MOHAMMED Al-khawlani). but in my birth certificate his name is writing like this (ALI NASSER ABDULLAH Al-khawlani) missing (Mohammed).
would this be a problem ?? or we should correct the name in my birth certificate?
thank you
June 4, 2022 at 06:38
Dear sir..
I would like to add to my question regarding the principle fathers’s name in the birth certificate:
1- they don’t add the fourth name in the birth certificate but the name in the birth certificate matches the principle’s name perfectly. we just add the fourth name in the DS260 which according to the fathers’s Id carrd.
now do you think this should be ok?
2- do you think this should be explained in the interview if they asked?
thank you so much Sir.
June 4, 2022 at 14:45
No problem.
June 6, 2022 at 18:13
Sir I’m palastinian syrian I live in syria in 1nl I was scheduled in amman
In my ds I filled it to Abu Dhabi embassy
Because we are the phalastinians refugees in syria are banned from getting to jordan-amman
1 Do you think I will recive my 2nl in amman
Because all syrians are being scheduled in amman and if yes what should I do to prevent it because 100% I cannot go to amman
2 both Abu Dhabi and Beirut embassies are not very active in processing dv interviews
Which one do you recommend for me given the fact that my case number is high dv2023 AS23***
Thank you very much i watch every video of yours on YouTube and i don’t want to be stuck in a queue where I can’t get a chance
I think it’ll be wiser to choose the embassy now not later
June 9, 2022 at 21:42
Your number won’t be current for a long time. Much can change during that period. So – stop worrying at this point.
June 3, 2022 at 19:43
Thank you very much for your help. If possible, clarify this question for me: I have two DS-260 forms in my case, I completed mine but my wife is already in the United States requesting political asylum for more than 6 months and is not eligible for the DV program. Do I need to fill out my wife’s DS-260 or can she be left incomplete? KCC will continue with my case if there is only one completed form?
June 4, 2022 at 14:45
You can leave it incomplete.
June 3, 2022 at 20:10
Hi I had a question regarding getting the citizenship. I have a green card and I wanted to know if I have to stay inside the US for 2.5 months continuously for 5 years or it can be non continuous but counts up to 29 months
June 4, 2022 at 14:46
I’m not expert in that process.
June 3, 2022 at 21:07
Hi Brit, my question is I filled the entry DV form using only 1 surname but I have 2 surnames on my passport (on the dv entry form page says last name in singular not plural), then I used both of my surnames on my ds260 should this be a problem during the interview? they can deny my visa just for that? can you give an advice on what to say to the consular officer if they ask about it please? thank you
June 4, 2022 at 14:47
That would not normally cause refusal.
June 3, 2022 at 21:48
In DS-160 I was married
And in DS-260 not married
Does it affect me?
DV2023
June 4, 2022 at 14:46
Yes of course.
June 3, 2022 at 23:57
Hi Simon,
We’ve been recently talking about changing location from Warsaw to some other embassy and I did send KCC this request on May 26th, 2022. They did not reply for a long time (it usually took them 1-2 days to reply and now it was 9 days) and I thought they just ignored me. It turned out though, that they sent me a quite different reply from what I expected to get. Look:
Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvprogram.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.
It would normally mean that they’re about to schedule my case, but… the embassy in Warsaw stopped on case No. 15082 (6k cases away from me). Do you think that it means they added me to some waitlist and it can take ages now (or never) to accept my case by the embassy? Because I don’t know how to interpret it now. What’s your opinion?
Thanks in advance 🙂
June 4, 2022 at 14:48
Yes it means you are on the AV waitlist for that embassy. Now you cannot make any changes, and will only get an interview if they have sufficient capacity to get to your case number. The waitlist is ordered by case number.
June 4, 2022 at 14:55
If I’m on the AV, may I request a transfer from the embassy A to some other embassy B if the embassy B has already agreed?
June 4, 2022 at 15:38
No.
June 13, 2022 at 01:52
Hi I have a question how did you know the embassy in Warsaw stopped on case No. 15082 ? thanks Mike
June 4, 2022 at 06:05
Hi Simon,
I’m from your favourite shitlist Consulate in Sydney but have recently been accepted for a transfer to Suva! My interview will be in Suva next month but I’ve just moved both house and employer from those originally listed on my DS-260. Am I correct in thinking that I cannot change this information on my DS-260 myself now and that I will just need to inform the Consular Officer at my interview of these changes? If so, will I need to bring any supporting documentation with me for each? i.e Employment contract & Lease agreement and/or Utility Bill with new address?
Thanks!
Matt
June 4, 2022 at 14:49
They won’t really care about the changes, but take proof if you want. Best of luck with the interview!
June 4, 2022 at 07:39
Hi Brit
1- Ds260 When I was filling in my parents’ data I filled out that they live in two different cities and yet the question was do they live in the same address I chose yes does it affect my process?
2- unlocking request how does it work when i open back my ds260 and correct the wrong place how do I close it do i subbmit it again
and I will re-publish the new confirmation page?
June 4, 2022 at 07:43
3- When I send an application for reopening to kcc how long do I have to wait for my form to be opened?
Thank you Sir
June 4, 2022 at 14:52
It varies how busy they are. Right now I expect them to be several weeks behind.
June 4, 2022 at 14:53
1. No problem.
2. Yes.
June 4, 2022 at 10:08
How are you ? I have been a student since October 2021 and have won the DV22. Cn AF37k.
1)I would like to know if I should look for the German criminal record.
2) do students have the right to a criminal record?
June 4, 2022 at 14:54
Read the instructions in the reciprocity page for Germany.
June 4, 2022 at 10:36
Dear Simon,
I’m dv2023 as23*** I sent the documents to kccdocuments@ when should I enquire about kcc receiving documents ?
And to this email [email protected]??
Right not to the documents email?
Thank you you are very kind
June 4, 2022 at 14:53
Just wait.
June 4, 2022 at 14:16
Hi Simon,
I won the greencard and and fill the DS260 application with my spouse. What would happen in case of a divorce after getting the greencard? Can everybody keep their greencard?
June 4, 2022 at 14:55
Yes
June 4, 2022 at 15:04
Hello sir!thank you for all the support!my question is regarding case numbers. Is there a way that we can know how many people in my country won the lottery.what we’re the case numbers.I saw the statistics chart on your blog but I would like to know the total case numbers in a particular country.for last 2,3years so I can get a rougher idea about my propobility.
June 4, 2022 at 15:39
The chance of selection is not based on your country. It is regional.
June 4, 2022 at 16:10
But what if only 50people from my country got selected this year and last case number is 25000.doesn’t that give a higher chance of getting the interview invitation than having 200 people where last case number is 25000?
June 4, 2022 at 18:05
No, that is not how it works.
June 4, 2022 at 15:38
Dear Simon,
I am currently readying for a IT degree and now I’m in the final year.
I added my current university for the present section of the education and work category. When I tried to add my university details it generates an error since I am a current student at the university and the end date is in the future.
What should I do to solve this issue?
1. change institutes attended to 1 and remove university details since I added it to the present section
OR
2. add the current date as the last date at the university?
June 5, 2022 at 04:40
Dear Simon,
Please respond to this question. I’m planning to submit the ds 260 within today
June 9, 2022 at 20:07
You were having a problem since you used the wrong section of the form. You should have entered your current occupation as being a student.
June 4, 2022 at 17:18
Hi Brit! Can you please help me with this.
I’m a dv23 winner, AF44K.
I’m currently a second year student in the university here in Kenya and I’ve won a certain scholarship program in Hungary which is starting in September 2022.
1. Can I drop out from my current university and then go to Hungary for the scholarship, and then if everything goes well with my dv process I drop out of the Hungary scholarship and then go to the US without any problem?
2. Also will it raise red flags in case I’m asked about my schooling at the dv interview and I narrate all these (dropping out at the second year of a university to chase a scholarship abroad and then dropping out again to go to the US)?
3. What do you think I should change in my ds-260 if I finally complete the scholarship process in September and then take my leave to Hungary?
4. Lastly, do you think I should take a risk by rejecting the scholarship in Hungary and then continue my schooling here till the time of my interview to not contradict my education story in case I’m asked by the CO?
Thank you in advance Sir.
June 4, 2022 at 18:06
1. Yes
2. No
3. You will change the address for a start so that you interview in Hungary.
4. No
June 4, 2022 at 18:39
Thank you very much once again for your help.
On answer 3,
Did you meant if I finally complete the scholarship process and leave for Hungary (September), I should request for unlocking and then change my current address to the address of wherever I’ll be staying (I’ll be staying in the university’s recommended place like a dormitory)?
Thank you
June 9, 2022 at 18:37
Yes
June 4, 2022 at 19:18
Hi Brit,
Thanks in advance.
I am a selectee with DV-2023AS6###
1. In my educational documents, my name appears as “Scott Jennifer Elizabeth Sophia” while in my passport, my name appears as “Jennifer Elizabeth Sophia Scott” (Surname being “Scott”). I filled out the DS-260 according to my passport details and we have an affidavit to prove that both names refer to the same person. Will the difference in the name-order going to be an issue?
2. I went through all the information related to DV program and I did not come across any information regarding form I-134. Can you please let me know where I can find information regarding this form with connection to DV program and is the form I-134 a compulsory requirement?
Best Regards

currently im university student 1 month away from getting degree. its been almost 5 years. i live with my family which are in different city which is close to the university. i go back and forth home and university and stay in university for sometime usually. this means technically currently i have to addresses. which address should i use on ds 260. the address that i used when i filled dv is home. and my id address is also home not university. if i use my university address on ds 260 then it wouldn’t be consistent with my id and information submitted on dv.my intention is using home address and doing explanation during interview if issue is raised. what do you say?
June 9, 2022 at 18:41
Family address.
June 5, 2022 at 00:09
Hello Simon, I’ve won DV2023, my CN is AS12xxx, I’m from Sudan, born & raised in Saudi Arabia, where I gained my eligibility, I got all my supporting documents ready with me and I will fill my DS260 form soon until I feel ready to,
My question is what do you thinks my chances are of getting an interview at anytime regarding the interview queue line in Saudi Arabia ?
June 9, 2022 at 18:41
I have no predictions. Patience.

Hello simon
Just wanted to ask you regarding DV2022 from Nepal….i have recently come across a person in Nepal DV winner 2022AS12k who has got the 2nl with interview scheduled for end of June….so m curious how this person with case number 12k got 2nl when VB of Nepal is only 6300 as of july?? Is it possible ?? Thanks
June 9, 2022 at 20:04
It should not have happened. It might be that the person is not chargeable to Nepal.
June 5, 2022 at 03:33
Dear BritSimon,
1- I have won dv lotery2023 and I submitted ds260 but in my education I submitted only my bachelor degree, because it doesn’t allow me to inter 3 institutions, is that may cost for my visa? If yes Do you recommend me to request from the kcc to unlock the form ds260 to rewrite it?
2- my case number is AF58K how many chances % do I have in your experience?
Thank you in advance for your help.
June 9, 2022 at 20:05
1. You have a high case number, so you have lots of time to wait. Unlock and correct your DS260.
2. I don’t know enough about the numbers yet.
June 5, 2022 at 05:26
Hi Simon, I have a question about applying in the next DV lottery 24, i was born in London but moved back to Egypt where I from with my Egyptian parents. I hold an Egyptian passport just like my parents and not a British passport. Can i apply for the DV lottery as an Egyptian?
June 9, 2022 at 20:08
If you can show that they were only in the UK for some temporary reason (such as a job that required them to be there), then yes, you could claim their country of birth as your chargeability.
June 5, 2022 at 06:14
Hii Simon, Thanks again for all the info. I am Ukrainian and have been accepted to DV2022 with a case number 21XXX. I currently live in Oman and have been working here for 4 years now. I did not apply earlier but checking now, looks like 27XXX case numbers for Europe are being processed. I have two questions, 1. in the lights of recent developments in Ukraine my only close family there my mom currently lives with me here in Oman, in what way can I consider having here with me if I apply? 2. I have had a close relationship with my Iranian boyfriend for the last three years but we are not officially married, if we decide to go together will registering the marriage here in Oman work? or do we have to go through the whole process in registering it in embassies and … as there is no Ukrainian embassy here? (we have all the documents to prove our relationship, eg. photos in the last three years, travels together… ) is it recommendable to apply alone or together? Thanks
June 9, 2022 at 20:10
1. No
2. You have almost no time left. If you want to process your case, you need to stop procrastinating and file your DS260 immediately.
June 5, 2022 at 07:06
Hi Simon,
What happened when a married couple decide to get separated in the US after getting the Greencard through the DV lottery?
Can everybody can keep their Greencard and immigrant status or does this change something? Is the status tied to the marriage?
June 9, 2022 at 20:10
DV Greencards have no tie to the marriage – so everyone keeps their status.
June 5, 2022 at 07:35
Hi Simon,
Just had a listen to your stream regarding Sydney/Oceania, and already having overselected for the year. Do you have any thoughts or insights about the Auckland Embassy in New Zealand? They seem to have slowed down at about the 1200 mark, with a 2363 outlier from the daily statistics, and I’m guessing that the Suva workaround was only for Sydney people. Not sure if they’re overloaded with other visa cases as NZ opens back up.
2022OC20XX.
Cheers,
Maurice

I don’t know. Try Suva.

Hello Mr. Simon,
Hope you are doing well.
I have two questions regarding DV 2023, First my name on passport has only given name no surname, Should I put my name in only surname column in DS260 form??
Second my Educational certificates showing months and years not any particular date for insuance, but in DS260 form they require date too.
Would you kindly help me to solve these problems?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you.
Kind Regards

You should use your full legal name. If that is only one name, that is what you use.
For education, use your judgement to identify the year.

Highly appreciate your reply and response.
May God bless you and very grateful for your valuable reply.
Kind Regards.

Hi,
I applied for dv lottery while i was in Sri Lanka and I’m currently in Canada. I came here as an international student and currently working full time in a private company(IT). I have my interview by end of this month in Montreal, Canada.
Do I need a sponsor from US in order to proceed with this?
Thanks
June 9, 2022 at 20:15
Possibly. If I were you I would obtain an I-134.
June 5, 2022 at 08:39
it says in the instructions for the new i-134 form, I quote:
“Submission of Declaration
If you are agreeing to financially support more than one beneficiary, you must submit a separate Form I-134 for each
beneficiary. You, as the individual agreeing to financially support the beneficiary, must sign your full name on the form. “.
. Now know if this part concerns a family ie if a father wins wins the DV With his wife and child. Their sponsor must send a form for each member of the main applicant
June 9, 2022 at 20:15
No. The beneficiary is the principal selectee. The family are included in that ONE form .

Dear Mr. Simon, Two questions please.
1. What is “AV wait list”? Does it mean ‘Administrative Processing’ or “Transferring” or something else?
Thanks, stay safe.
June 9, 2022 at 20:18
AV means allocated visa. It is the point at which your DS260 is complete, you are current, and moved into a queue among other cases for your specific embassy.

Hi Simon, Hope you’re doing great. I used a US phone number more than 4 years ago, I’ve used it for around 3 months but unfortunately I don’t remember it, for the question “Have you used any other telephone numbers during the last five years?” what’s the right thing to do? Thanks for the help in advance
June 9, 2022 at 20:22
If you can’t remember it, you can’t list it.

Hello Brit. I’m DV23AFXXXXX. I was checking the updated Affidavit of Support (I-134) form and I noticed that the form starts with the info of the beneficiary. In the beneficiary’s section there’s annual income, must the beneficiary input his/her annual income? If yes, will the embassy check/require bank statement?
Secondly, is there any harm if I fill my section of the I-134 form and forward it to the host/sponsor to finish it?
Lastly, must the I-134 form be hand signed by the host or would the electronic signature suffice.
June 9, 2022 at 20:33
The form is designed to be used isn several ways. For DV the beneficiaries income doesn’t need to be completed UNLESS you have some income source that would continue after moving to the USA.
Yes you can send it to the sponsor, it should be signed in black pen.

Hi Brits, I am having problems to book the appoitment of my interview at my embassy everytime I try it says case number not ready to schedule, even though I received 2nl from KCc last week, there is an email to send to them but now I am a bit confused, the requirement says write full name and date of birth, and also upload the 2nl , I have updated my full name with my husbands surname because I got married after DV application, what name to write now the old name as applied, and 2nl name came with the old name or with my new surname, please note that when I fill in the DS260 I used my new surname and new ppassport number because the passport apolied DV has expired but yet my 2nl came with the old name. Please advise.

You do not need to book an appointment, you only need to register with the courier.

Hi Simon,
OC15XX here. I just found your channel so I may be one of those people who made a mistake already and I have already filled in my DS260.
I am concerned about my country of birth not matching my country of chargeability. I was born in Hong Kong, however my citizenship & passport is Australian. I do not have citizenship/passport with any other country.
Have I already ruined my chance?
Thanks
June 9, 2022 at 21:36
Since you were born in HK you would not have been eligible for the lottery. Your only chance would have been if your Aus born parents were temporarily in HK at the time of your birth OR you were married to someone from Aus at the time of the entry. Otherwise, you will be disqualified and should not have completed the DS260.

Hi there.
Someone in our group took the i-134 to the interview and were put into AP and told to send an i-864..
Would you suggest we take both to the interview to try avoid AP? It couldn’t hurt, right?
2022AF46XXX (Johannesburg- and FINALLY AV)
June 9, 2022 at 21:37
It is 100% certain that you cannot use an I-864 for a DV case. So – someone is “confused”.
June 6, 2022 at 14:21
Hi Mr. Simon
ds260 I have to fill in the address where I will live, I have a friend who lives there legally and I want to mention his address, but his brother has been in the US illegally for a few months, can that cause a problem?
Thank you for your work
June 9, 2022 at 21:40
No

Hi Brit, I need your opinion. My fiance is a winner of 2022 DV lottery and her case # 2022AF32###. I engaged her recently and I live in USA. As you know it isn’t guaranteed for her to reach the interview. Can I apply for K1 fiance visa for her while dv visa is pending. I just do not want to waste time waiting for dv and it may not happen to get an interview. Thanks alot
June 9, 2022 at 21:41
Yes.
June 6, 2022 at 20:31
Dear Simon,
I’ve just received the following notice from the KCC.
========
Dear DV Applicant,
This is the official notice for you to pursue your application for a DV-2022 visa. An appointment has been scheduled for you at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate stated below. You and all members of your family who wish to apply for a Diversity Visa must appear at the appointed date and time for your interview. Please notify the office listed if you cannot keep the appointment.
You and any eligible family members will be required to submit sufficient proof of identity upon arrival. If you fail to obtain a DV-2022 visa by September 30, 2022, your registration will expire. Your family members must also obtain their visas prior to September 30, 2022, or they will not be permitted to join you in the United States under the DV-2022 program.
Please follow all of the instructions provided at http://dvselectee.state.gov to prepare for your interview. It is very important that you follow the instructions carefully and completely. The Diversity Program Fee for each applicant and each member of the family must be paid in full according to the policies at the Consulate or Embassy that is conducting your interview. There is only one fee and it is non-refundable, even if the visa is refused for any reason.
========
Finally! The interview. I’m feeling so thrilled and emotional right now that I forgot nearly everything I have read in your blog posts about this significant moment. Would you be so kind as to give me some specific guidance? (apart from what I can read at http://dvselectee.state.gov) This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, and I don’t want to fail it. are there any nuances not mention on the official pages? E.g. documents: I had them all prepared a year ago, incl. police certificates; should I get new ones if they’re a year old? Am I already supposed to know and tell them where in the USA I’m planning to live? I didn’t see any info about demonstrating sufficient funds at the interview – how do I go about that? (I-864 is only required for family-based visa applications.) Ah, endless questions, sorry.
June 9, 2022 at 21:44
Cool.
Read the instructions (again). Make sure you have all the documents ready, plus copies and so on. DV cases sometimes get asked for an I-134, not the 864.
