Hello Brit! I am 2022 DV winner. I already got my visa. I did activate it on May 13rd. I also got my SSN. Green card is being produced. I am back in my home country (Argentina) to prepare the move to the US.
Question: how much longer can I work and stay here, in Argentina, without risking my green card status?
Thank you very much!
June 9, 2022 at 21:46
Up to 12 months absence.
June 6, 2022 at 22:21
Hey Brit,
After I enter the USA and receive my GreenCard, how long do I have to permanently move? I am just worried as I’ll be completing a degree that will take about 2 additional years.
Cheers,
Nav

Forgot to mention DV 2022 winner, waiting to get my passport back but will have to activate in Oct/Nov of this year I presume
June 9, 2022 at 21:48
You should consider finishing the degree in the USA as it will be more recognized for jobs in the USA.
You can stay out of the USA for up to 12 months without permission needed, or with a re-entry permit (I-131) you can stay out for 2 years.

hi Simon
I won dv lottery 2023. my question is I have choose a university degree holder during my dv registration but I am a third year drop out from a university. I have filled it as a third year university drop out on my ds 260. can it affect me for my visa approval?
June 12, 2022 at 14:41
Probably not.
June 6, 2022 at 23:08
Hi Brit!
Do I need affidavit of support from the sponsor even if I will show the proof that I have over 10k?
Thanks
June 9, 2022 at 21:48
Possibly.
June 7, 2022 at 01:01
Hi simon
Goodmorning
I need one suggestion from you.
I am a nepalese DV winner with case number 11600. I currently live in sydney Australia. Just a week before KCC has transfered my interview location to Suva, Fiji.
Also the sydney consulate has started working with DVs.
So, is it good idea to change my interview location to Sydney again?
Which would be the better option for me?
Suva or Sydney?
Would appreciatie your suggestion.
Thank you!
June 9, 2022 at 21:52
You are not current yet, but you should just choose between the two embassies just in case you become current.

Dear Sir,
According to the DV Entrant Status Check, I have been selected for further processing in the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program for the fiscal year 2023 (October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023) case number 2023AF33k. With that being said, I do have some questions before submitting my DS-260 Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application that I would appreciate you helping me with.
I currently have a valid passport number that I originally used for registration, however my passport will expire in April 2023. Do I need to renew my passport before submitting my DS-260, renew it before going to the interview or renew it when it actually expires? Also, does changing the passport number now affect my application by any means?
If I were to marry after receiving my visa, what are the procedures to bring my spouse to the US after I have received my Green Card? How much time does this procedure usually take?
Or would it be simpler to marry before submitting the DS-260 application, so I can add my spouse as a family member?
If I already submitted my DS-260, then got married, is there any way to add my spouse to my DS-260 after it has been submitted?
When is the deadline for making any changes (ex. Adding a family member) to my DS-260?
In the DS-260, there’s a question requesting the address I intend to live in after I arrive in the US. Can this be a cousin’s or a friend’s address, since I might still not know where I will be permanently staying?
How long does it take for me to receive my Green Card after arriving in the US?
Will I be able to apply for a job while still on my visa waiting for the Green Card?
Thanks in advance for your help and understanding.

NUMBER QUESTIONS!
June 7, 2022 at 11:08
Hi Mr Simon
I’m Indian national which is not eligible for Diversity visa, but i applied from Saudi Arabia as a residence,
i applied for visa in 2022 ,
Win the lottery, filled the application, and submitted documents.
Now waiting for interview
My question is about eligiblity,
I’m i still eligible for Diversity visa?
June 9, 2022 at 21:55
No.
June 7, 2022 at 12:24
DV2020 & DV2023 Winner!
DV2020:
EU 23k case number.
Part of 9,095 reserved diversity visas that are waiting for a chance.
DV2023:
EU 9k case number.
Now, for 2023, i want to get married and sent the application for both of us (that would be the only difference from the DV2020 application – there i’m single).
1. Will there be a problem if in meantime the DV2020 (by any chance) continues and i got a date for interview?
2. When i sent the application for the DV2023 as well, i’ll be with two applications at the same time, for two different fiscal years. Will that provoke any issues as well?
Thanks for your answer & opinion in advance!
June 9, 2022 at 21:56
1. No
2. No
June 7, 2022 at 14:31
Dear Simon,
I forgot to add Twitter and Instagram which I am not using for long time in DS260. A few days ago, I was cleaning up my phone and realized I still have these accounts. My interview already scheduled at Jul 5. Will it be better if I email to embassy for this matter?
Would appreciate your suggestion.
U. T
June 9, 2022 at 21:56
No. It will probably not come up in the interview.
June 7, 2022 at 16:04
Hi Simon, My CN is 2023AS6xxx. Thank you for answering my questions.
1) When filing Form I-134, there’s not enough space to write my name inside the given box as I did on the DS-260. (Beneficiary’s Current Legal Name – Part 2 Item 1) Is it okay to write the name with initials?
2) On Form I-134, at Part 2 Item 17 there’s beneficiary’s income to fill. Is it regarding the income I currently have in my country or the income I will get when I land in U.S. (I have a sponsor)
June 9, 2022 at 21:57
1. Yes
2. It is about now.
June 7, 2022 at 18:04
Hi Simon,
I am a DV2022 winner with case number AF58XXX. I just got the below response from KCC after I emailed them for the 2nd time for a status update:
“Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvprogram.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.”
Does this mean I have a chance to get an interview before the end of FY22 (Sept 22)? My embassy is Casablanca, Morocco and per the June 22 Visa Bulletin, Africa is current. KCC did not ask me for any documents so does it mean that the next step would be to get an interview scheduled (fingers crossed)?
I appreciate any feedback you can share as I lost hope I will get a visa. Thank YOU!!
June 9, 2022 at 21:58
It depends how many people are before you (by case number) waiting for interview at that embassy. So you interview is not guaranteed.
June 7, 2022 at 18:09
Hi. EU23××× winner here. In your opinion, when will my case be processed at the KCC?
Thanks in advance.
June 9, 2022 at 22:28
I don’t know. You don’t even mention your year.
June 7, 2022 at 19:54
Hi dear simon I am 2023 DV winner
I read the instructions in the reciprocity page for my country and it mentioned that the police certificate is available but not reliable and does not required for US visa so, it is necessary to submit the police certificate or not. on top of that is it good to send documents before DR or I should wait for email.
June 9, 2022 at 22:30
“not required for US visa”. Says it all.
June 8, 2022 at 01:19
Hi Brit, thanks for your blog. I didn’t pass the high school exam, but the ministry of education in my country allows those who failed the exam to enroll in any associate degree. I graduated my associate degree and then I pursued bachelor degree and also graduated it. My question is that will be I qualified for the DV lottery if I am selected? Thanks for your response. Hong
June 10, 2022 at 16:04
Hi Brit, would you advise me on the quest above, please?
June 10, 2022 at 22:19
A CO can use discretion to adjudicate this case, based on education requirements in that country.
June 8, 2022 at 05:32
Hi Brit.We have interview on 21stJune
what do you think we should wear?Formals?;)What do people usually wear when going to embassy for interview?
June 9, 2022 at 22:32
Smart but casual.
June 8, 2022 at 07:01
Hello Simon,
Thank you for your hard work and assistance.
We are the selectees of DV2023 program. I’d like to know if it is necessary to request an unlock from KCC in below situations:
Question 1:
Is it necessary to request an unlock ds 260 if US visa history is changed (from “not refused” to “refused” as it was refused after submission ds260 application)
– We submitted a DS260 application on 19 May.
– Interview for a B1/B2 tourist visa for my kids was on 24 May. (my wife and I have got tourist visas earlier)
Consul has refused the visa for kids as he was aware that we applied for DV lottery. Is it worth it to request KCC to unlock the kids’ application and correct the answer to the question “ have you been refused a US visa” from “NO” to “YES”? Or is it better to explain during the interview that refusal happened after we submitted DS 260?
Question 2:
While applying for ds260, one letter was omitted in the spelling of my divorced wife’s name . Do you think that it is necessary to unlock as it is related to names. FYI: I am not a main applicant but my current wife is.
Question 3:
Is it worth it to unlock ds 260 if travel history information within the last 5 years was left unanswered in the main applicants’ application ?
We missed to answer the question about “Have you travelled to any countries/regions within the last five years?” This was the application of my wife (main applicant). Actually we have travelled to several countries together during the last 5 years and it was reflected in our earlier ds160 application.
Question 4:
We are planning to travel to the US with b1/b2 visa soon. Given that we already applied for an immigrant visa, should we expect a huge scrutiny at the port of entry? Or is it better to refrain from going to the US while our case is under process.
Thank you!
June 9, 2022 at 22:34
1. No need to unlock.
2. No
3. Yes
4. Doesn’t matter.
June 8, 2022 at 09:11
Hello Britsimon
We got approved !
Over the last year your videos helped me a lot. my case number is 2022AS146** .
I have some information to share if someone has a similar situation in the future.
We had a baby 3 weeks ago , we did the medical when she was 1 week old , the doctor needed a official birth certificate to do the medical from the country not the hospital . after the medical we got the baby a passport .
We had a problem with contacting the US embassy to let them know she was born, they didn’t answer our emails and we could not file the DS260 for here. anyway we went with here to the interview and explained the situation ,so they interviewed the rest of the family , they opened the option to file the DS260 for the baby and scheduled the “interview” for the baby the next day. so I went there the next day (without the baby) just to pay and give the medical and paperwork and give my fingerprints, then she was also approved.
Thanks

Hi Brit.I am a dv 2023 winner 43k af region. I already filled DS260.I am in a dilema. My mother has been missing since 1987.Body has never been found hence no death cert. The truth is We do not know where she is.In ds 260 i said she’s dead in some of my other docs i sometimes say she’s alive .Can this cost a visa?
June 9, 2022 at 22:36
No
June 8, 2022 at 13:25
Hello Simon
I asked you about the situation in Ghana in your last live video and you told me that my case being 31*** and Ghana not doing interviews means I’m pretty much screwed. I checked the stats for Lome and it seems the process is going on well and I also found out that people have been going there from Ghana for their student visa interviews cos the situation in Accra is quite worse for almost all visa types.
Is it advisable to move my case to Lome?
And if so what is the process.
When I contacted KCC about my case they told me I can’t unlock my case anymore and that if there’s any corrections I should contact Accra.
So how do I go about this? I need your guidance too
June 9, 2022 at 22:37
As I said – you cannot do anything. They already told you they won’t change anything (including your embassy) so there is nothing you can do.
June 8, 2022 at 17:37
Dear Simon,
I posted a text here a couple of days ago, but it didn’t show up for some reason. Perhaps, it’s in the process of approval. But just in case it got lost for technical reasons, I’ll create a new post to ask my questions, if I may.
I finally received a notification about my interview date. Feeling thrilled, scared and happy, my family and I nevertheless need to do our best to prepare for it properly. Here’s a few questions in relation to the interview:
1. Once I show the interviewing embassy officer all of my accumulated funds (bank account receipt, etc.), for how long after that do I need to keep myself from spending that sum? Is there a certain period after the interview, during which the US authorities will be checking my bank account to see if those funds are still there and sufficient for entering the country? Or do they no longer care, once the visa is granted?
2. If granted the 6-month visa, can I travel to the States alone, activate the green card, travel back to my home country and return to the USA with my dependants (i.e. my family).
3. Or do we need to travel all together?
4. In the case of 3, can we all come back to the home country after the initial entry to the States, to finish the unfinished things, properly pack and prepare for the final relocation?
5. In the case of 2 or 4, how long can we be away from the States for?
Some spontaneous questions, sorry. Since your FAQ section has recently been disabled, I need some proper guidance for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Thank you!
Kind regards.
June 9, 2022 at 22:40
1. They don’t check later.
2. Yes – but each must enter before their individual expiry dates.
3. See 2
4. See 2
5. Less than 6 month absences is ideal, 12 months is possible.

Hello Simon,
I have a question regarding i-134. If it has been signed in April can I take to interview the old form in July? Do you have a video how to fill i-134 new form? A lot of confusion regarding financial question?
June 9, 2022 at 22:41
Use the new form. I will do a new video very soon.
June 9, 2022 at 01:17
Hi Simon,
On my country the secondary education is divided into basic secondary education and pre-university secondary education. At the end of the second one we get the Bachelor’s Degree (same as High School Degree at US).
I filled the DS-260 with both schools. My questions are:
1- Is the Bachelor’s Degree sufficient for applying to DV visa or I need to show also the first Basic Secondary diploma?
2- On my first Basic Secondary diploma they wrote my name wrong, instead of Hiram they put Hirán. Is this a problem?
Thanks in advance.
June 9, 2022 at 22:43
1. Prepare to show everything.
2. Probably not.
June 9, 2022 at 06:14
Hello Sir.
My questions are:
1- the principle’s last name in the passport like this Al-khawlani but in the intial dv 2023 registration we wrote it like this Al- khawlani with extra space but in the DS206 we put the correct one as it shows in the passport (Al-khawlani). is that a problem?
2- we misspelled the (spouse- derivative) last name in the initial DV 2023 registration like this (Al-kubato) but the correct last name is (Al-kubati ) with an i.
we put the correct last name in the DS260 . is that a problem?
June 9, 2022 at 22:44
Indivdually these mistakes are not a problem. But many individual mistakes can create a sense of you being dishonest.
June 10, 2022 at 07:02
Hello sir.
Those the only Mistakes that we have. And I heard that as long as they are corrected in the DS260 we should be OK because many people make mistakes in th DV entry registration.
June 9, 2022 at 17:49
Hi Simon. No 2NLs sent for all regions in the last 10 days. Is it normal? I’m 2022AF49xxx ready for scheduling but nothing is happening in the last 2 weeks.
June 9, 2022 at 22:48
Yes it is normal.
June 9, 2022 at 20:05
Hi Brit Simon, I’m in the states now, I have a question, how long my green card it’s going to mail to me.

Just completed my final registration for the set interview date and I had the same problem until I figured out I have to include the 3 0’s in the case number i.e. 2022AF00026xxx as opposed to 2022AF26xxx. Not saying it is the problem but be mindful of this. Hope this helps
June 9, 2022 at 22:05
Hi mr simon
Can i unlock to change the name of secondary school name as it had been translated differently from the name i filled in the ds form ?

Unemployed.
June 10, 2022 at 00:20
Dear Brit,
CN: 2023AF13k. My wife is the principal applicant. My wife and I do separate businesses. She sells thrift clothings online and I provide mobile money service. In the Ds 260, we identified ourselves as self employed. I do possess a business registration certificate for my business but my wife does not have any business registration certificate. We have a joint bank account. #Please what type of documents do we need to show during our interview as proof of our occupation? Especially my wife since she is the principal applicant.
June 10, 2022 at 22:05
Why do you think you need to prove the current occupation? You don’t.
June 11, 2022 at 18:44
Many Thanks for your time and consideration, i wish you all the best
June 10, 2022 at 00:51
Hi Simon, Is there a way to see how many people are in the queue for a DV interview at a particular consulate?
Also, for DV2022 i’m seeing in the raw CEAC data that 2NL’s have been issued in Oceania region up to case number 2580 but the visa bulletin says case 1200 is current. Any reason/explanation for this?
June 10, 2022 at 22:05
1. No
2. The VB is current for OC – that means ANY case number.
June 10, 2022 at 01:11
I studied at a university for one year and I do not have a certificate, degree or any document from the university. Is there a problem with this?
June 10, 2022 at 22:05
No
June 10, 2022 at 02:49
Hi Brit, thank you for your help. My wife is a winner of dv2022 with case numberAF29xxx. In early may, she unlocked and updated her ds260 since we just got married. And up to now we did not receive any reply for the interview. Is this normal since her case number is current since April?
June 10, 2022 at 22:06
Many cases are waiting interviews. Depending on the embassy you are assigned to, you might not get a chance of interview.
June 10, 2022 at 04:32
Hi Brit. My CN is 2022AF30k. After inquiring from kcc about my ds260, I received the following email on May 19th: “Thank you for your inquiry. You should have received, or will soon receive an email from kcc giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing. Pls follow the instructions in the email. Interviews are scheduled numerically…” My questions: 1) is this the ready for scheduling email (DQ) 2) based on the above date(May 19) and my CN, is it likely I receive the 2NL for August interviews or at least September interviews? (Everything been equal). My Embassy is Yaounde Cameroon and they aren’t doing bad at all. Thank you for your patience and clarifications.
June 10, 2022 at 22:08
I don’t know whether you will get an interview or not.
June 10, 2022 at 08:24
Hi Simon. I`ve got couple of questions if you can help me please…
1. I`m 2023 DV lottery winner with case number EU21xxx. I`ve completed my DS-260 form. As the person I will be living with for a start along with my family (derivates), I listed my cousin and gave her adress and phone number. In the meantime, she changed her phone number so now the one who I listed is not correct. Is that a problem, do I need to send an email to KCC or ask them to unlock my case so I could make a change?
2. What do you think about my case number, is it too high, will I be able to get green card?
3. Me and my derivates allready have a valid US B1/B2 visas, and we traveled to USA in 2013 and 2019 as a tourists (I`ve got a whole bunch of family members there). Is it easier for us to go there again on our current visas and ask for adjustment of our status, or to go regulary through embassy in my home country? Is this, what I`m suggesting even legal, to go there as a tourist and than to ask for status adjusment? BTW our`s visas expire in february 2023.
Thank you in advance for your answers, and I really appriciate what are you doing for all of us. I wish you all the best, and may God bless you.
June 10, 2022 at 22:11
1. No you can update the address at the interview.
2. It is too early to know about case numbers for DV2023.
3. Your visas will expire before your case is current, so that won’t work. There are other problems with that plan too – so just think about processing where you live now.
June 10, 2022 at 09:03
Hi Simon, firstly thank you for all you do to help DV entrants each year, you’re an absolute star. I am a DV2022 selectee from Oceana in the lower 2000’s. I submitted the DS260 in July 2021 and am waiting on the 2NL. Should I be concerned that I haven’t had communication yet, and do you think I should make contact with the KCC?
June 10, 2022 at 22:14
Yes contact KCC and check your status.
June 10, 2022 at 11:41
Dear Simon,
The KCC letter (2NL) instructed me to register for the interview at my local embassy on a specified date. But the registration website says my case number is “not ready for an appointment”.
Then, it says “The immigrant visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment. You can check the status of your IV case at http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/nvc.html.
But the page mentioned in the link doesn’t exist.
Is this normal? What am I supposed to do?
June 10, 2022 at 22:14
You have an appointment. You simply need to create a profile for the courier.
June 11, 2022 at 09:16
Dear Mr. Simon, when reading the answers, some questions pop up.
1. What does it mean “create a profile for the courier”?
2. I got the 2nl but does not contain anything about registering, only giving a date. What should I do?
June 11, 2022 at 14:56
1. Some embassies require the selectee to register on a website prior to interview. That system is essential a courier system.
2. Follow instructions.
June 11, 2022 at 09:30
The interview registration website won’t let me create a profile saying my case number is not ready for an appointment.
June 11, 2022 at 14:33
You are probably not choosing a correct option.
June 10, 2022 at 11:42
Hi Simon, we just got scheduled for an interview in Sydney (Oceania case) in early July. The earliest medical appointment we can find is a couple of weeks later (in mid-July) than the scheduled interview date Understand we need to have the medical complete before attending the interview. Should we be trying to push our interview back to a later date?
June 10, 2022 at 22:15
No. Have the interview and follow up with the medical once it is completed.
June 10, 2022 at 12:00
Hi Simon
I have case number OC15XX. What are my chances of getting the visa and when would be a good time to submit the DS260 form
June 10, 2022 at 22:15
YEAR!
June 10, 2022 at 17:46
Sir, I sent a letter to kcc to move my embassy from one to another in 7 June and they still hasn’t answer yet is that normal
When should they answer
June 10, 2022 at 22:20
They are probably busy with lots of requests.
June 10, 2022 at 20:25
Hello Simon, thanks a lot for sharing valuable information with all of us. Your help is much appreciated.
I am a DV2023 selectee with a pretty high CN, it’s EU30xxx. I have already submitted my DV-260; have a couple of questions, and would be very grateful if you could share some thoughts.
1. I know that it’s still unclear whether sending documents will be required for DV-2023, but I am worried about my CN and would like to do everything I can in order to increase my chances of getting the visa. I watched your video about how cases are processed (by date or case number) and, if I understood right, being proactive is sometimes a good thing. I wonder if there are any pros/cons of sending docs to KCC in advance (with no doc request). Well, of course, if docs won’t be required, there is no benefit. But I am thinking of a case when they will be required but i’ll just send them in advance (before getting a request from them). Can they refuse me for sending docs without getting the doc request?
2. Based on my residency, my interview will be scheduled (if it will be scheduled) in Montreal, Canada. Do you maybe know if Montreal is usually a busy consulate in terms of processing DV cases?
Thank you Sir!
June 10, 2022 at 22:23
1. It wouldn’t cause a denial to send documents, but it also won’t overcome your case number. You probably have 1 full year before being current. So there is no need to rush.
2. Their performance over the last couple of years has varied – but again – your interview is a year from now – so who knows how they will be working at that time.

Hello Brit,
CN: 2023AF13k, I am the derivative of my wife. We submitted our DS 260 forms on 8th June. I just recalled that, I traveled as a tourist to the UK in 2012 for 2 months during my college long vacation. Problem is, I forgot to list that in the previous addresses section in the DS 260 forms. I only put my university’s address because campus was my main residence at the time.
Please would you recommend that we contact KCC to unlock our forms so that i input the UK address in the previous addresses section?

No need to unlock – that is trivial.

Thank you!

Hi Britsimon,
My sister is a 2023 winner. Her husband has children from previous marriage. They all were under 18 years of age the time of marriage, but never ever lived with them, they stayed with their mother. now they are much older. Do we need to include them in the DS-260? they never lived with them.

They should be listed in the DS260s, yes.

Hi Brit
I’m a 2022 Dv lottery winner. I have two derivatives family members.
My interview with the US embassy is scheduled next month. Could you please let me know the affidavit which should be provided by my sponsor? Whether is it
I- 864 or I-134?

Hello Britsimon,
I need you opinion, I won dv lottery 2022 and visa interview will be on July 15, 2022 in Montreal, Canada.
I have problem, my youngest son was born in September 24th, 2021. Two weeks before the Dr lottery 2022 entry submission started.
I did not include him in dv lottery entry as I did not receive his birth certificate yet.He is Canadian.
I only added my wife and my oldest son.
I don’t want waste time and money.
do you think My visa will be denied as I did not add him ?
Thanks,

Yes. Denial is 100% certain.

Hello Simon
I’m preparing documents according to list in Traves.state.gov guideline for Diversity Visa Program winners. One of the is Police certificate. In my case I’m citizen of Kazakhstan, and I had been livingcand working in Russia for 7 years. In those 7 years I lived in rented appartments by my company. Those appartments had own adresses which I had filled in in DS-260. However, when it comes to Police certificates, I had to request it with registred adress (which is my company adress, because all foreigners were registred by Visa department under company adress as per local practice). Now, which adress is appropriate for requesting Police certificate? My registered company adress which makes more sense for police records. Or, Should I request actual living adress so it will match all adresses in DS-260 form. Because I’m afraid this discrepancy can cause extra concerns and questions during interview in US embassy.

You’ll have to use your own judgement.

Hello sir
we are the DV 2023 selectee
our case number is AS19XXX
any idea in which month our case could be scheduled for an interview …thanks in advance
June 11, 2022 at 14:53
At this point we don’t know much about DV2023 numbers. So – I am certain it won’t be in the remainder of this year, but it is too early to say when in 2023 that number might be current.

Hello Simon, I am from nepal and dv winner of 2022. My case number is AS12xxx and recently for nepal vb is current. I have submitted my ds 260 in last of december 2021. Should I expect 2nl and when?
June 11, 2022 at 15:34
I can’t predict that. I don’t think they will have the time or capacity to schedule all Nepal cases.

Hello Brit
DV2023 winner here case number EU22xxx.
I have already completed and submitted the ds-260 form since last month and now anxiously waiting for further instructions.
My question is, if everything goes as last year, when can we expect the KCC to process our forms and to send out emails requiring the documents, or further instructions?
Sorry if this is a repeated question, but 1 month of daily checking both email and the dv website to see if anything changes
thank you
June 11, 2022 at 18:34
You have a long time to wait anyway. In time, things will be more clear about whether they will require documents or not.
June 11, 2022 at 18:41
Dear Simon,
Thanks to your constant support I was able to submit the DS 260 successfully.
1. Is there any video you have done to describe what I should do next?
2. When should I ask my sponsor to fill out the I-134 form?
June 12, 2022 at 14:39
1. Several. The blog itself has the DV lottery guide. Start there.
2. Once you get the 2NL (interview schedule)

I’m from Niger residing in Kuwait I’m a winner DV23 my CN 2023AF4XXX .Did he send the documents before KCC asked me by Email?
What are your expectations for my case? when I meet at the embassy? Note that I sent DS 260 19 may.
June 12, 2022 at 14:41
It is still not clear whether the government will ask for documents or not. Wait and see what they do.
I am not going to predict interview dates.
June 11, 2022 at 23:11
Hello Brit, I have won the DV 2023 & my case number is AF42xxx. I have already submitted my DS260.
But when I was filling my DS260 under the present Education/Training, I put the info(name & location) of my online school Coursera.
which is in Mountain View, California. I will complete & acquire my Certification with this school after 1 month.
From my case number, I will likely have my interview next year and by that time I would have acquired my certification.
So my question is will I get a problem for listing a US location under my present Education(school) in my DS260 when I also filled that I have never been to the US.
The reason as to why I filled in a US location is because my present schooling is done Online, but that school is based/located in California.
1.Will that affect my case? Will I get denied for filling that in my ds260?
2. Do I need to unlock my ds260 and remove the info under present Education?
Kindly advice me on what to do Mr. Brit Simon
June 12, 2022 at 14:42
1. No
2. Unlock and Make clear it is online.
June 12, 2022 at 16:55
I have actually made it very clear that this is done online by putting the right Title under school name in the ds260. I have used “Google Career Online Certificates” as the school name. And under street address(Line 2, Optional), I said “This is done Online on Coursera”.
But for other info like City, State, Zip code & country, I used the exact address of this school.
1. What further thing do I need to do to make it clear that this is done Online?
2. Am I just complicating my case by having this?
3. What change would you have me make in my ds260?
4. Am I just over thinking it or can this be a serious issue in my DV case?
5. What advice do you have for me Mr. Brit?
Thanks and I hope to hear from you sir.
June 12, 2022 at 17:02
Just overthinking…
June 12, 2022 at 19:30
Thank you Brit for the contribution
1. So I won’t need to have to change anything in my ds260, right. Everything is good to go. No need to unlock my form, right.
I have clearly shown that this is an Online course & I will have the required certification in case they ask for it during my interview.
I just want to over prepare & not mess anything up.
June 18, 2022 at 21:33
Hii Brit, I would like to kindly get your reply on this matter.
This is from our previous conversation last week.
1. So I won’t need to have to change anything in my ds260, right. Everything is good to go. No need to unlock my form, right.
2. Have I clearly shown that this is an Online course in my ds260? as per our conversation last week
3. DV process is not based on current Education info, right. The CO will understand everything at the interview, is that right sir?
I just wanted some clarification on what to do moving forward.
June 18, 2022 at 22:18
I answered already. “Are you sure” questions just waste my time.
June 12, 2022 at 03:33
Hey Simon,
Since Egypt went current from 13,000, theoretically, does that mean the embassy in Egypt told KCC that their capacity for the upcoming months is really high?
Thank you,
Ibe
