Hi Brit,
Thank you very much for your kind effort.
My wife has been selected with a case number 2024AF61xxx, what are the possibilities for being interviewed, and when we are expected to be interviewed (Cairo, Egypt).
What if we want (have to) to travel to the USA (having B1/B2 visa) and intend to stay there for 3 months or more, can this be a problem, or affect our case?
And is it possible to apply for “AOS” if we go, or better to come back for “CO”?
I very much appreciate your feedback.
August 10, 2023 at 16:13
1. You have some chance, but I don’t have the data to be more exact.
2. Not a problem.
3. B1/B2 AOS to DV has challenges. Plan for CP.
August 10, 2023 at 10:53
Hi Simon, I want to inquire about a mistake I made during the entry stage of the lottery for DV 2024.
My cousin entered the draw on my behalf. During the filling of the application, he made my birth city my regional capital instead of the town I was born, arguing that the rules for the DV Lottery dictates that major cities should be used rather than villages and town.
I was convinced at the time of application but I later made a research and found out that, ideally that should be the case but a passport is the primary document for travel so in cases of confusion one must refer to the town/village/city stated in the passport.
I want to inquire if it is advisable to change it on my DS-260 form.
August 10, 2023 at 16:11
It’s not a big concern. Unlock and correct if you want to.
August 10, 2023 at 10:26
Hello BritSimon, I am a DV 2024 winner from Ethiopia my case number is 44k. As you know the US Addis Ababa embassy has been facing difficulties in processing applications for 2023 winners because of a huge backlogs. I was wondering if you have any information on whether they will be applying the same process for 2024 winners. Additionally, is it possible for us to transfer our case to another embassy? Thank you for your help.
August 10, 2023 at 16:11
They create the backlog themselves by not scheduling sufficient cases each month. I don’t know whether they will continue doing that or not.
KCC schedule according to current address. So – if you want a different embassy, then you might need to move.
August 10, 2023 at 05:10
Hi Simon,
Does the number of selectees for DV 2024 (142947 selectees) includes their spouses and children or not? If it includes, does that basically mean that from 142947 people, 55000 will get visas, meaning that 87947 people will not receive their visa?
August 10, 2023 at 16:08
Yes it includes the spouses and children (as does the 55000 number), so yes a huge number will NOT get a visa. In other words it is not “theirs”. Also the 142947 number will grow because of marriages and births, so it is more than your 87947 number…
August 10, 2023 at 04:17
Hi Simon, thanks for your videos,
My question is:
I am a DV24 winner, my case is SA15XX
I was a J1 during 2020-2021, my visa was under the 212(e) rule that means I had to comeback to my home country for 2 years before been able to apply for another visa.
I stayed at my home country for 1 year and some months. Currently i´m not in my home country as i´m studying my masters degree in Europe.
I´m planning to comeback to my country when my master finishes and take the interview there but will be lacking some months still.
Will this be a cause of rejection? or is something that can be explained at the interview?
Thank you 🙂
August 10, 2023 at 16:05
You can either delay the interview OR see if the CO will approve the case, or perhaps put the case on AP.
August 10, 2023 at 04:10
Hi Brit,
I am a DV winner for 2024 with case number AF260XX from Ghana but now reside in the Czech Republic. So I will be having my interview in Prague.
so my question is:1. When do you think I am likely to be scheduled for the interview?
2. Do you have any idea about the performance of the US embassy in the Czech Republic?
August 10, 2023 at 14:48
1. Depends on your DS260 processing -but it could be October.
2. They are OK up to now.
August 9, 2023 at 20:53
Hello Simon, my niece was selected for the Dv2024, her case number is 2024AF00015XXX, she just graduated from high school July 2023 and will turn 18th in December 31, 2023. Regarding her case number she will most likely have her appointment before December 2023.
1- Should we wait until she is 18th before we proceed with her application?
2- If her age (17th) is not a reason for denial, are the documents required different for a minor?
Thank you
August 9, 2023 at 22:46
1. No need to wait if she already meets the requirements.
2. The age is not a disqualifier. However, there might be concern about what support (financial and otherwise) she would have in the USA, so think about that and get an I-134 from a US resident if possible.
August 9, 2023 at 14:53
Hey Simon, what do You think about the case number 2024Eu372XX, is there a high risk that my number wont get current.
Embassy:Croatia
Thanks in advance:))
August 9, 2023 at 16:26
I can’t be sure about your number at this point. We will know more precise information in January, so you should wait for that.
August 9, 2023 at 14:26
Good evening, Simon!
I am from Bulgaria, Europe. Profitable from SG 2024 with number 2024EU5K. The US Embassy in Bulgaria is in the capital – Sofia.
This year, the winners from Bulgaria are 142 people.
Based on the above, what is your opinion about my chances of getting 2NL, interview, visa?
P.P. Thank you so much for your intelligence, professionalism and erudition on the subject of the lottery and the help you give us all!!!
August 9, 2023 at 14:44
Your number is great and your embassy is fine. So – you don’t have anything to worry about (unless you create the worries yourself!).
August 9, 2023 at 14:06
My case number for DV24 is EU 57xxx. Any predictions if I’ll get an interview or is this a lost cause?
August 9, 2023 at 14:46
There is obviously high risk for numbers at that end of the range. We will know better in January when we will see the CEAC data because then we will know the precise distribution of cases before you and after you. Your embassy may also be a factor (because a bad embassy can ruin the chances for an otherwise good case).
August 9, 2023 at 19:11
Thank you kindly for the quick reply! If it helps, my consulate is Montreal, Canada.
August 9, 2023 at 13:37
Hello sir,
I have been following you since winning the dv2024.
I understood and wrote down everything you said and the what’s in the blog.
But I am still not confident in my calculations and intuition.
It seems that AS17k is solid, am I right? Or is there still a chance not to get a visa with that number?
Thanks
August 9, 2023 at 13:45
That number is solid, so other factors are your embassy – are they performing OK, and are you from a country that routinely experiences long background checks.
August 9, 2023 at 12:58
hi brit thank you for the answer i have the right information in fact when the KCC released my form on AUGUST 1, 2023 i was able to connect to the form i started to fill in my information from my sponsor was missing so i saved and i disconnected . The next day when I wanted to connect to complete the filling when I entered the information I noticed that it was again blocked out in the letter I was given 10 days before the form was again unavailable
August 9, 2023 at 12:58
Hi Simon, a friend of mine want to sponsor me to the US for B1/B2 visa, I want to ask after filling the the I-134 form will how will it be send to me. Will she send it to me through mail and I attach it with my form I’m taking for interview or will she send to to USCIS office herself. I’m confused
August 9, 2023 at 13:43
I usually only answer DV lottery questions, but normally the I-134 is sent to the applicant via email, and the applicant can present it to the CO during the interview if requested.
August 9, 2023 at 10:58
Hi Simon, I am not here to ask a question, but thank you for your brutally honest videos about Case Numbers. I was winner of DV2023 and didn’t get interviewed even though my case number was below the EU cutoff number. If you are interested, my embassy was Tbilisi, and they were terribly slow this year even though they always reached the cutoff numbers previous years. I tried to change interview location but no avail and Kentucky consular center replied with same answers every single time. If I didn’t watch your videos and learned about dvcharts and cutoff numbers, I would be very disappointed at the end of the year. But now I don’t feel sad because I accepted the fact that I will not be scheduled for interview for like at least 5 months. So I thank you for being honest and clear, if you weren’t honest like this I would be very much depressed currently.
Thank you and I wish you the best in life.
August 9, 2023 at 11:22
Thank you for that validation. TBL were bad this year – I really don’t know how they can justify that behavior. I’m sorry it did not work out for you!
August 9, 2023 at 09:00
Hello Mr.Simon
May I ask you a question.
I had submitted my DS260 on June (inprincipal).
DS260 for My spouse and child were submitted on August seperately.
Are there any issue for upcoming 2NL mail to me?
August 9, 2023 at 11:17
Probably no issue, but without your case number it is hard to be more precise.
August 9, 2023 at 18:53
CN round about AS17K , Sir
August 9, 2023 at 22:43
Ok, then there is time before you will be current anyway.
August 9, 2023 at 08:44
Hi brit
I wrote to kcc to change my interview location which they’ve changed it according to the response they sent.
My question is, do I need to unlock and put my new physical address? even though I stated that in my request.. Thanks
August 9, 2023 at 11:16
Yes
August 9, 2023 at 08:04
Hello SimonBrit,
Thank you for your advice for the last time, I wrote to KCC to unlock my DS-260 which was done the next day and I corrected the addresses by writing the omitted address and I detailed also the information on the high school where I had the baccalaureate, the university where I had the license, and the one where I had the Master and I resubmitted today the 9th .
Previously, I submitted:
– For my wife on May 17
– My newborn on May 17
Me the principal applicant on May 17
After unlocking my only DS-260 and resubmitting it on August 9th we now have:
– For my wife May 17
– For my newborn May 17
– For me even on August 9th (because of my update)
1- How will my case be handled? (I won as derivative)
2- My CN is 2024AF694××, what would be the probable date of my interview.
NB: (I followed your video a little bit but I didn’t understand everything, I’m French-speaking and I’m working on listening)
THANKS
August 9, 2023 at 11:16
1. Your unlocking won’t affect the processing. You will be processed well before your case number is current.
2. I don’t know for sure, but probably early/mid next year.
August 9, 2023 at 04:21
Hi Simon,
1. My case number is 2024AS79XX ( Nepal). Based on the DV 2024 Visa bulletin and the number of selectees, is my case number a low one and is relatively safe?
2. When do you think, as a reasonable estimate,my case will be interviewed?
August 9, 2023 at 11:11
1. Yes
2. Early 2024
August 9, 2023 at 03:44
Hi , How does the embassy in Kuwait performance
August 9, 2023 at 11:11
It’s ok although it is a small embassy.
August 9, 2023 at 03:31
Hi Mr Simon
I want to apply for the upcoming lottery that is DV2025 But i have English and Mathematics D7 on my result as a high school from Accra Ghana, so my question is
1. Am i good to go for the lottery, is it ok to apply?
2. will my visa be denied when i am selected base on my result?
August 9, 2023 at 11:10
I don’t know the exact education requirements for Accra, but you may be able to qualify through work experience (depending on what you do). If I were you I would enter the lottery and see if I got selected.
August 9, 2023 at 11:58
Okay thanks very much
August 9, 2023 at 03:08
Hi Simon please I wish to ask this question based on the entry I made on my educational status I mistakenly entered Geography instead of Geology I have written to KCC but no response I wish to know if I can take my ds260 then notify the consular officer about the error upon interview day. Thanks
August 9, 2023 at 11:04
No need to correct that.
August 9, 2023 at 01:57
Hi Simon,
have case number in the 363x range from Oceania. Roughly by your estimates given what is know at the moment what is the likelihood of my
getting called up for interview. Thanks.
August 9, 2023 at 11:04
I created a video explanation yesterday if you want the detail, but bottom line I don’t think you have any chance at all. Sorry.
August 9, 2023 at 01:44
Hi Simone,
I know it’s too early to understand if our case numbers are well positioned for an interview, but I’d like to know based on your experience my eu395xx case in Italy, how it could go.
Thank you always for your valuable information
August 9, 2023 at 11:03
Yes it’s too early, but obviously you have many months to wait anyway, so there is time to know more.
August 9, 2023 at 01:21
Hey again Simon, also wanted to ask that if I am moving to Germany on a student exchange program (erasmus), will that count for requesting an embassy change from Ankara to Frankfurt?
Thanks again!
August 9, 2023 at 11:02
It might help.
August 9, 2023 at 00:34
Hey Simon! Hope you’re well. Now that the selectee number has been released for 2024, where do you think a number of AS202413130 would stand in terms of getting the interview? I submitted my ds260 on the same day as the results were released. Thank you!
August 9, 2023 at 00:46
Safe
August 8, 2023 at 22:56
Hi Brit, I just watched your video about 2024 year. Considering the current information we have about a number of selectees and the September visa bulletin, I wanted to hear your opinion on whether I should pursue AOS or CP. My case number is EU29K (Kazakhstan), and I am currently on an H1B visa. Thank you!
August 8, 2023 at 22:57
I like AOS, but there are pros and cons to both methods
August 8, 2023 at 19:51
Hello Britsimon, I wish you are doing good. My case number is 2024AS41xxx , and I am from Saudi Arabia. I can submit my DS-260 by next weekend (so by Saturday Aug 19th) ; what do you think are my chances to be interviewed? would you submit the DS-260 if you were in my case?, and should I be too worried?
I apologize for the many questions. Thanks a lot for your appreciated efforts, and help
August 8, 2023 at 21:34
Submitting a DS260 declares immigrant intent. If you never get current, that may be a challenge for you in the future during non immigrant visa applications. It is a factor used, not a complete knockout. That might, or might not be a consideration for you.
If it were my case, and assuming aI was concerned about immigrant intent, I would probably delay submission of the DS260 until January so I could see the exact position of my case. That would probably help to make a decision. That creates a small risk because of the late submission, so YOU have to weigh the pros and cons.
August 8, 2023 at 22:34
Thank you very much Simon for responding fast as I am really worried.
Yes of course I have an immigrant intent, but only legally thru the DV lottery system. Please note that I studied and got my bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Also, even after my studies, I traveled many times to the U.S as a tourist, and I never overstayed my visa or broken any law. So, clearly I have no plans to stay in the U.S illegally.
However, I do not want to risk being refused a tourist visa in the future in case I do not go current. I say this as my previous tourist visa has expired few months ago. And, I was just thinking if getting a new tourist visa to travel to the U.S as a tourist in order to apply for an adjustment of status instead of submitting the DS-260 and risking the possibility of not being current !
I like your idea of waiting until January until the picture becomes more clear. but, please note that I am now 33 years old, and I went to the U.S as a student since I was 17, and graduated in 2016. Also, I have studied, and lived in different universities in 3 different states (Michigan, Connecticut, and Illinois). I had a driving license from both Michigan, and Illinois. Also, I have a social security number. So, what I am trying to say, is that I think the U.S government already have a lot of information about me, and knows that I’ve never did anything wrong in the U.S or anywhere (clean records). Hint: Since I became adult (18 years old) I’ve lived in the U.S. more than any other country (including my own country ! )
I apologize for making it long, but do you think based on what I’ve wrote above will be taken into my advantage, and would make the DS-260 processing faster, or slower?
Also, I forgot to mention that I’m single, never got married, and I have no kids
Finally, please let me know if you think the adjustment of status will be a good option for my case. Also, do I have to wait until my case be current as well for adjustment of status?
I am so sorry Simon for making it super long, but this is very important for me.
Thanks again for all your efforts, time & help
August 8, 2023 at 23:03
Your US history won’t speed up processing.
AoS is less attractive for high case numbers.
August 9, 2023 at 14:47
Thank you very much Simon for your reply again.
Since AoS is less attractive for high case numbers like mine; then I think I will just submit my DS-260 and pray to hear somehow good news in January about the position of my case !
Thanks again Simon
August 8, 2023 at 19:18
Hi Simon am from cameroon with case number 2024AF36xxx is it too high??
August 8, 2023 at 21:29
No
August 8, 2023 at 17:44
Hello and thank you for your thorough and helpful explanations. For someone selected for DV2024 EU15xxx, previous years (2022 and 2023) this number range was current around March or April? Would you expect the same for this year?
August 8, 2023 at 12:42
Hi Simon,
My husband and I are DV2024 winners (case number 2024OC40XX). We were sad to see in the Sep 2023 visa bulletin that DV2024 seems to have been extremely over-selected.
Based on your video from last year (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXmfLFWJXD4), I used a derivative rate of 1.74 and a density of 55% for Oceania to estimate that the highest case numbers for DV2024 for Oceania should be around 4,650.
Question:
Assuming that the earlier derivative rate and density are more or less accurate for DV2024, and my calculation of the highest case number is accurate too, is our chance of getting an interview extremely low with a 40XX case number?
I hope you’ll make another video for this year, as last year’s one was very informative.
Thank you very much in advance.
August 8, 2023 at 14:56
I just read your two latest posts and saw that your own estimate for the highest case numbers for Oceania is OC49XX. I also saw that you will post a new video that will clarify how to estimate our chances soon. Will keep an eye out for it. Thank you.
August 8, 2023 at 15:51
Because we travel to the USA often for short trips to visit friends (with an ESTA), would you suggest that we do not submit a DS260 form at all if our chances are extremely low? Thanks again.
August 8, 2023 at 17:03
Yes – I would say you should consider the information in my video today, and if you agree with my assessment, then not submitting the DS260 might be a good idea.
August 8, 2023 at 16:57
I just published a video – feel free to watch.
Unfortunately I think your number is going to be too high this year – they have selected 77% more people than last year. That’s just way too many – as I explain in the video fairly early on.

DS 260 sent last week.
When do I need to send scanned documents ? 2024 AS 41***
Thanks
August 8, 2023 at 16:55
Never. They are not asking for scanned documents in DV2024
August 8, 2023 at 12:10
Hello Brit let me be one of the first to comment after the VB total selected is 143,000 for DV 2024. My case number is 2024AF409**. Is this a high number for DV 2024. Also do i stand a chance at Nairobi Embassy with such a number. Looking forward to you Video on DV 2024. Thank you for your insight always greatful.
August 8, 2023 at 16:55
That’s not a high case number, but the behavior of NRB embassy will be important.

August 8, 2023 at 07:42
Hello Brit simon I have come again to seek your help regarding the unlocking of my ds260 after having done all the procedures the kcc sent me a letter at the level of the embassy including a PIN and telling me that my ds will be unlocked for 10 days but it has been unlocked for a day and I could not fill out my form.. I write to Kcc for the removal but their answer is all the same “”The information you provided will be forwarded to the appropriate department.”” Please help me
August 8, 2023 at 09:16
You need to do a couple of things.
1. Learn to be more clear in what you write. Because I can’t read your mind. What exactly have you done, what can’t you do.
2. DO NOT LOCK YOUR FORM AGAIN, by not following instructions.
August 8, 2023 at 12:53
Ok I will explain to you after the results were released I tried to connect to the DS260 with the wrong date of birth when registering the error was made so I was trying to connect with my real date of birth and as it was not the right information my form was blocked after several discussions with the KCC I had to do an identity check at the embassy and after that I called the embassy to collect a letter and in the letter it was mentioned that my form will be unblocked in the next 10 days from July 26 and I will have 10 days from the removal to fill in my form before it blocks. After unlocking my ds was blocked again in less than 24 hours so that I was unable to fill it in. In the letter I received a pin code. so I come to ask you, given that you are in the USA, can we send a person to the KCC physically to explain the problem to them so that they can unlock it again. I’m asking for your help
August 8, 2023 at 17:00
You cannot send someone to KCC, no.
You blocked your form twice now because you are not entering the correct information. You must use the ESC page to determine your accurate information (Case number, confirmation number, name and date of birth). Try that, and if you have the right data then you will have to go through the process to get a new pin.
August 8, 2023 at 17:07
hi brit thank you for the answer i have the right information in fact when the KCC released my form on AUGUST 1, 2023 i was able to connect to the form i started to fill in my information from my sponsor was missing so i saved and i disconnected . The next day when I wanted to connect to complete the filling when I entered the information I noticed that it was again blocked out in the letter I was given 10 days before the form was again unavailable.
August 8, 2023 at 11:02
Hello Britsimon,
Please Could you answer my question about Foreign State Chargeability and the difference the country of my birth. There was an error in the previous post filling first NL but I have declared my correct country in Ds260.
How can I reconcile the selection letter, it is written in another country in Kenya 🇰🇪 I was born in Somalia 🇸🇴 all my documents are in Somalia, will there be any problem when I go to the interview with foreign state chargeability in Kenya 🇰🇪 and Ds260 Somalia.
Thank you
August 8, 2023 at 16:53
Because both countries are in the same region the CO would normally forgive the mistake.
August 7, 2023 at 21:15

August 7, 2023 at 10:14
Do you think l find 2 email interview with the Pakistan embassy what do you think
August 7, 2023 at 10:33
Probably not.
August 7, 2023 at 04:56
Hi Simon,
We got through the interview on 03/08 and received the white paper. But Case status still appears as “Ready”. Other applicants who got through on the same date have got “AP” status the same day itself and “Issued” on 07/08.
Would there be any reason for delaying my case and will they allocate visa once we got through the interview.
Is there any possibility for status to change directly from ready to issued ?
August 7, 2023 at 09:36
I don’t have any information about your case, so you will just have to wait and see.
August 7, 2023 at 02:06

August 6, 2023 at 22:49
Hi
I made mistake on my ds 260 . Where it asked if my mailing address is the same as my permanent address i selected yes instead of no and then put US address for where i want my green card to be mailed . however on my previous page for my permanent address i have my actual address where i live outside of the US do you think my visa will be delayed for this discrepancy.

Hello Mr. Brit, thank you very much for all the advice you gave us for the success of our process of obtaining the Green Card. I am a DV 2024AF69×××, I submitted my DS-260 on May 17th. Following you everyday on your forum, I noticed yesterday while analyzing my DS that I made a mistake and I couldn’t sleep all night because I’m afraid my case is not affected. The problem is this: I did my MBA in Benin from 2013 to 2015 while filling out my DS I forgot to add the address. Instead of : 2015 to present Lomé 2015 to 2013 Benin 2013 to 2009 Lomé – Baguida 2009 to 2005 Lome – Kpota 2005 to 2001 Lome – kpota I forgot about Benin while doing 2009 to present Lomé – Baguida 2009 to 2005 Lome – Kpota 2005 to 2001 Lome – kpota For solution I want to ask for the police certificate of Benin to add to that of Togo to take to the embassy. Or do I have to unlock my DS? Given the submission time parameter also I’m afraid that the 2NL will not arrive quickly when I will be running. I need your advice. Can this affect my case?

Just unlock your ds260 and correct it.

Thank you very much Brit , I just sent an email to KCC to that effect.

Hi , i watched last posted youtube video that everything seemed to me negative . I was wondering that can we say 2NL over for DV23 ? I have received from KL Embassy email , which writes KCC concluded september interviews and we didnt get your interview . Last year DV22 after same email , KCC posted 500 2NL . Is there any possibility to see any updates for 2NL ? Best regards

Of course the year is not over until September 30th, but yes it is very unlikely to see more 2NLs now.

DV2023 winner, need to enter until end of Sep in US.
Both married got the visas, I am the principal selectee.
Will I have problem entering if we got divorced before that, because on the visa it stays M for married?

Hi Brit Simon,
I am a DV2023 lottery winner from the EU region. I have not received any email regarding the interview from the Ankara Embassy due to a backlog. This month i am moving to France. I need your guidance whether to edit my DS260 form and change my embassy or should i wait for my interview. I don’t want to lose the DV lottery opportunity. Kindly provide me with your guidance in case i need to hire a good attorney.
Thanks.

I think you have probably lost your chance. KCC have over scheduled, meaning we are now concerned with visas running out, so if you don’t already have your 2NL, you probably won’t get one.

Hey mr Brit,
My mom’s mother last name differs in her documents (police records, birth certificate, etc..) in some documents it is “AL ALI” and others it is “ALI” as we use “AL” for definition in Arabic.
We already submitted ds260 for mom and confused what to do!

Good morning Simon, I am a DV2024 winner. For the past couple of weeks I have been following the 2023 data for my embassy (PTS) on xarthisius’ site just to get a feel of how my experience might be. I noticed something interesting…
Their was a few case numbers that had a 2NL date of April 21. These were stuck on a ‘ready’ status up to yesterday. But today they are all ‘issued’.
1).My question.. ..Is the 2NL date in fact the date when they would have received their 2NL?
2).And if so, is it safe to assume that their interview was over 3 months after the 2NL date, after which they were all issued?
August 5, 2023 at 10:10
1. It might have been a few days before the 21st.
2. They would have been June interviews.
August 5, 2023 at 10:45
Thanks. So if their interview was in june, do you know why their status stayed as ‘ready’ until now? There was no ‘221g’ or ‘AP’. It went from ‘ready’ to ‘issued’.
Forgive me for all the questions, I just want to have a better understanding so I would know what to expect.

It’s probably just forgetfulness on the part of the embassy staff. They only handled 11 cases all year – so they are probably not in a routine. It doesn’t mean anything important.

Ok thanks again!

Hi Simon,
I have Permanent Residence in the US, I’m planning to apply tourist visa for my parents, can I sponsor them for tourist visa or I have to be a US citizen to do that?
August 5, 2023 at 10:03
As an LPR (or a citizen) you have no special power to “grant” a tourist visa. You could provide a letter or an I-134 for financial “comfort”, but that is non binding and may or may not be effective.

Hi Simon,
I am a DV2023 winner. I attended my interview a couple of weeks ago at the US embassy in Cairo. The interview took less than 10 minutes, after which the CO congratulated me, said the visa is approved, kept my passport and gave me a white A4 document that confirms the approval and other instructions to pay USCIS immigrant fee.
Now, two weeks later, I get an email from the embassy that says “ please note that we are returning your passport you need to issue a Movement Certificate and send it with all the passport through our official courier SLS or Aramex to be able to finalise the case”
Note: A Movement Certificate is an official document issued by the Government to confirm which countries a person has travelled to in a certain time period ( for example the last 7 years)
When I checked my visa status online, it stated refused two days after the interview and was updated again on the same day I got the email to also refused.
I tried contacting them by phone but it was hopeless to get any info from them about immigrant visas. I emailed them to get clarification about their email and asked if there is a procedure to follow for sending the requested document but received no reply to date.
I am confused,
1. Could there be some kind of mistake?
2. The email is unclear, why would they return my passport to me if they just need an additional document? It seems pointless and an unnecessary delay
3. Should I just go ahead and send the requested document with all my previous passports or am I supposed to wait for them to send my passport back and then resend it with the rest?
Please Advise

1. Maybe – but so what – you need to do what they ask and do it as fast as possible.
2. Pointless question.
3. Follow their instructions. Do this quickly. Your case it as risk because you no longer have a visa assigned to your case, so you need to act fast and hope to get this resolved. Focus on their instructions.
