****UPDATE****
We have more than enough responses now, so I am about to close the form. Please read this article to know more about what will happen next.
The AILA is the professional body for immigration lawyers in the USA). They have started the process to challenge the immigration ban in a class action lawsuit. The obvjective would be to get a Federal court to block the ban, and I think there is a pretty good chance to do that, given how unfair the ban actually is, and the irreparable harm it does to people around the world.
I have agreed with the AILA to gather some willing DV participants to the suit. They would like a good sampling of participants from around the world, and different visa types, so that they can demonstrate the broad impact and affected people. There is no cost to become a plaintiff – they are doing this work without fees.
So – I have created a simple online form where you can record your details to be considered as a participant on the lawsuit. Your information will be viewable by me, and made fully available to the team of lawyers at the AILA – so it you are not comfortable with that, please don’t complete the form.
They will not use everyone from the form – they need a good sampling of cases. If they win, the benefit will be for all – not just those that participate in the suit.
So – it’s a simple form – please take 5 minutes to fill it out and the AILA team will reach out in due course.
To be clear the READY for scheduling email is the one that starts like this:
“Congratulations! Our records indicate that you have submitted all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.”
Here is a link to the form
FYI – this is the same team that published this call for participants.

Hi Simon! Thanks for the information in your last video youtube channel. Many thanks indeed. I send the passports and repeated the medical as requested by the embassy. I was in AP 221g group 2 .Now i am waiting my visa to be issued. I am confused regarding PP10014 entry ban. I am in albania, europe ,non eu, non shenghen country. Am i allowed to enter usa before 31 december?
September 19, 2020 at 00:47
No – answered earlier.
September 11, 2020 at 13:36
This was an automatic email. It doesn’t necessarily mean you are a named plaintiff.
I would strongly suggest you to contact Curtis Morrison ASAP before the 14th. Best of luck.
September 11, 2020 at 18:44
RH, I realize you are trying to help, but please don’t. The email was not automatic. Just leave the answering to me.
September 10, 2020 at 20:18
Dear Brit,
Thank you for all your great efforts helping DV Selectee.
Kindly, could you explain me, if the form that i filled for AILA lawsuit does make me a plaintiffs or i need to be represented by another attorney in order to be a plaintiff?
September 10, 2020 at 23:59
If you were not one of the 7 on the AILA cases and not named on the other cases (Charles Kuck/Curtis Morrison), then you are not one of the named plaintiffs.

&where I can check whether I am or not, part of the AILA’s case?
September 11, 2020 at 12:30
If you didnt get an email from AILA, then you are not a named plaintiff. Anyways, you can always check by accessing the case file which is easily available online. I suggest you to immediately get in touch with Curtis Morrison to save yourself some hope.
September 11, 2020 at 12:47
What kind of email? i’ve received the following email:
Dear DV-2020 Selectee:
You are receiving this email from counsel in Gomez v. Trump because you responded to a call for plaintiffs from BritSimonSays.com or contacted us directly as a DV-2020 selectee and/or an individual acting on their behalf. If you are already represented by an attorney in the Mohammed v. Pompeo, Fonjong v. Trump, or Aker v. Trump lawsuits, please contact your attorney regarding next steps.
DV-2020 Selectees may now pursue their Diversity visas at their local consulates immediately. We recommend that you request an emergency visa appointment and ask to be treated as “mission critical.”
This is because on Friday, September 4, 2020, a federal court GRANTED our request for a preliminary injunction and blocked the State Department from refusing to process DV-2020 visa applications because of the April and June Presidential Proclamations. YOU DO NOT NEED TO JOIN A NEW LAWSUIT OR PAY AN ATTORNEY TO GET THE BENEFIT OF THE COURT’S ORDER. A copy of the Court’s order is available here.
If you are denied a “mission critical” emergency appointment or do not receive a timely response, please let us know immediately by filling out this form. We will be reporting back to the Court what is happening at the consulates on a regular basis, and we will seek further relief from the Court if Diversity Visa winners are unable to receive their visas by the September 30 deadline.
Thank you and good luck,
The Gomez v Trump Team

@Lona, RH was incorrect.
September 11, 2020 at 18:41
@RH, that is incorrect. MANY people got an email from AILA. They are NOT all named plaintiffs.
If you were not one of the 7 on the AILA cases and not named on the other cases (Charles Kuck/Curtis Morrison), then you are not one of the named plaintiffs.

July 17, 2020 at 09:57
At first they complained about their labour market…so they ban all visa.but now those all visa which related to job got exception ?? i think they are jst trying to ban for dv only bcoz we dont have to pay enough money for that visa…May this AILA wins and helps us to get rid from this frustrating moment.

is there any hope really?
July 9, 2020 at 09:38
Hi Britsimon,
I am gyanu gurung, DV winner of 2020. We already clear all medical test. There is any good news for us. My husband final exit from Dubai for interview but it is suspended.
July 9, 2020 at 17:01
Dear Mr britsomon, i need your help please the send my husband a congratulations on her gmail account on June 1 that say , congratulations! Our records indicate that you have submitted all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. So a mean my husband will be scheduled for an interview on August or September.
July 10, 2020 at 05:44
Well all the embassies are closed and there is a ban in force. So – unless those two things change, no there will not be an interview. There is a lawsuit being filed to try to remove the ban. Please take some time to read my recent articles to understand what is going on.
September 18, 2020 at 12:22
Hi simon I am from nepal my case no 12584 did I got visa on this year plz help me brit what step I have to do to got visa fastly.
September 18, 2020 at 19:20
Well first you have to be more clear. What year? What have you done so far? Think how I could answer.
July 8, 2020 at 15:03
Journey of dv 2020 holders ends here now.Embassy finally told that deadline cannot be extend and can’t issue visas too.
July 8, 2020 at 15:26
Is this the final answer from the lawsuit why being persmistic
July 8, 2020 at 17:33
@kopila, why not wait for the outcome of the lawsuit before you conclude.
July 9, 2020 at 01:04
I dont think so this will work becoz…our deadline is coming near and still their is no any response from AILA
July 9, 2020 at 11:21
As of AILA we should expect news during next week. There‘s a little bit of hope still since DV IS NOT CANCELLED. If we are lucky enough, means embassies reopen this month and lawsuit succeeds. Then many might get an interview on the rapid scheduled for September.
July 9, 2020 at 11:43
@Dior, I to my opinion i think when AILA wins embassies will automatically open blc I contacted the US embassy in yaounde Cameroon and their main reason now for closure is the ban. So we should pray the ban is lifted wc I strongly believe it will be challenged. God be our helper
July 9, 2020 at 14:35
Hope this will happen but hopes are already lost???
July 5, 2020 at 07:29

June 30, 2020 at 14:46
Hi Brit hope you are doing well. I am key follower on your videos and on your blog. I just have a quick question.
2 days back I was watching Curtis mandamus video he informed that he was having around 53 applications who would like to challenge the EO. My question here is if Curtis wins in court against EO will it be win for all DV 2020 applicants or only for the applicants who registered with Curtis. Regards and appreciate your response.
June 30, 2020 at 22:36
Curtis’ suit can ONLY benefit people signed on to that suit.
June 30, 2020 at 10:48
It’s a miracle that we have such a platform where we can always be updated and be encouraged every single day! Thanks Brit
June 30, 2020 at 02:04
Hi Simon, now I heard about your action. I would like to know if even if you have not completed your form, the result of the lawsuit would favor me and my family.
June 30, 2020 at 18:48
From the article above…
“They will not use everyone from the form – they need a good sampling of cases. If they win, the benefit will be for all – not just those that participate in the suit. “
June 29, 2020 at 16:56
Brit, have the AILA issue the date of petition the case?
June 29, 2020 at 23:09
No. When they do, I will write about it.
June 29, 2020 at 15:18
Dear Simon,
I’m sorry for not reading everything through before filling out the form.
I finally decided to participate in Curtis mandamus.
Could you removed me from the AILA list please (if I was selected)?

DEAR PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP;
I WISH YOU DOING WELL WITHIN PAST FEW DAYS , ITS A REQUEST FROM ALL OF US . PLZ DONT BREAKS OUR HEARTS , WE PRAYED ALOT FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE IN US , AND HAVE A GOOD LIFE. NOW OUR DREAMS ARE IN FINAL STAGE PLZ MAKE IT HAPPEN , DONT MAKE US DISAPPOINTED, I AM ALREADY BROKEN , I AM 20 AND I HAVE ALOT TO DO , I HAVE GOT DREAMS IN MY LIFE AND I CANT ACHIEVE IT IN MY COUNTRY BCZ OF WAR . SO PLZZZZZZZZZ
June 28, 2020 at 21:45
I’m not sure President Trump reads my blog. But just in case you’re on to something, let me add my nicest message that I have for that man.
Dear Don. You have been the worst president this country has ever seen. Your levels of intelligence, judgement and understanding are almost unbelievably bad and you have in just three years done more damage to this country than we could ever have anticipated. Your lack of leadership has caused the pandemic to be worse here than any other country in the world (yes – we are number 1 in that respect). Now 125 thousand Americans are dead and 40 million unemployed. Our position on the world stage is that of the clown, with you as the imbecile in chief. You seem completely unable to empathize with anyone, and only have your own interests and ego at heart. You are the champion of idiots throughout this country simply because you make them feel smart. In your treatment of various groups other than old white men, you have shown relentless disdain for decent people and you are an affront to decent people everywhere. I can’t wait for November where I am hopeful your idiotic and ignorant messages will be consigned to the trash can of history. Best wishes, Simon xx
June 29, 2020 at 11:51
I share the same sentiment Brit.
June 28, 2020 at 11:40
These ban extremely affect in people’s career and dreams….half of the process almost done their cases are stopped bt dv 2021 who are jst starter their process are running..this is so unfair.”America” land of opportunities bt these ban compelling us to feel unfortunate.yeah this is pandemic whole world is in crisis bt not only US…In my point of view as well this pandemic this kind of certain cancellation is so disastarable on people’s career…postpone these process.Give us justice ??
June 28, 2020 at 03:43
Hi BritSimon, thanks for all the effort and time you have spent to help us. Is it okay to submit DS-260 right now (with a very low case number) amid the visa banning and also taking into consideration that collecting the police certificates might take extra 1-2 months?
June 28, 2020 at 18:34
Yes
June 27, 2020 at 04:17
Hello Mr BritSimon, Thank you for everything you do for us
I’ve heard that the proclamation is only for those outside the United States, does that mean that if I find a way to be on American soil before September I can change my status there?
I’m a lottery winner 2020
June 27, 2020 at 05:26
Mo. You cannot do that.
June 27, 2020 at 00:40
hello, excuse me, I have a little problem. I should take my interview since April 7, but the embassy in Dakar in Senegal has been closed since, please do you think I have a chance to pass it? Thank you for your reply.
June 27, 2020 at 05:22
Depends on the lawsuit and the embassies reopening
June 27, 2020 at 12:21
Court can give disicion that extend the deadline of dv 2020 because many people are affected .
June 27, 2020 at 12:31
Better option is that to postpone the dv process 2020 and start when pandemic and travel ban will end.it is much logical way .
June 27, 2020 at 17:23
You keep saying these things, but they don’t necessarily do what you think is best.
June 26, 2020 at 21:56
Hello Mr. Simon,
I sent you the form to participate in the AILA lawsuit.
Is there any form of exclusion between participating in the AILA lawsuit and Curtis mandamus?
If there is, could you please remove my name from the AILA lawsuit?
Thank you very much.
We really appreciate what you do to help us.
Best wishes,
Tiziano

Hello Simon
I would like to thank you for your great efforts helping DV winners. We are a group of the 2020 winners who are asking for your support to deliver our pain to everyone. Would you please help us to spread the following hashtag:
It’s totally unfair to shut our dreams down and taking the chance of our lifetime away by immigration ban.DV lottery deserves an exception as no effect on labor market. save #dv2020winners #exception #Unfair #TrumpEO #immigration #Noimmigrationban #dv2020 #beyond30Sep
June 27, 2020 at 05:13
Hashtags won’t get you anywhere,
June 26, 2020 at 16:40
Hello Unfortunately, I have only just heard about it. Please I still have the chance to take part in the collective lawsuit?.. Brit Simon please contact me.. Sorry, don’t come back to the form anymore
June 26, 2020 at 16:54
No need. They have enough participants, and success would mean success for all cases.
June 26, 2020 at 12:49
Good morning sir,
1-From your knowledge, did it happen before that a plaintiff which his case done by Curtis related to Dv LOTTERY, was a critical case and ended up to a happy decision?
Only to be optimistic about the two kind of lawsuits (AILa, Curtis).
2_ what do you feel Sir about the lawsuit AILA? Do we have more than 50 % of successful?
SORRY Sir we don’t want to bother you and to burden your time, bear us this period.
GOD BLESS YOU.
June 26, 2020 at 16:18
1. I don’t know.
2. I can’t estimate it in that way.
June 26, 2020 at 04:28
Hi i am gyanu gurung dv winner of 2020, i already finished my medical and waiting for interview schedule.
June 25, 2020 at 20:59
Hi Simon,
Can Curtis’s lawsuit extend the 30th September deadline for those who participate with him? As he mentions that a possible outcome would be to keep the visas aside in box and to interview ans process those cases after the ban has been lifted, even if it’s after the 30th of September. But if this is to happen, won’t they be altering the Diversity Visa Act at Congress which is very unlikely?
Besides this, cases like mine where documents have not been processed by the KCC as yet, can his case encourage the KCC to process the documents of Curtis’s plaintiffs first, even if its in August, since he mentions in one of his video that the outcome could be by late August?
Looking forward to reading from you.
Thanks
June 25, 2020 at 22:13
This is repeated from an earlier reply.
I saw Curtis’ latest video. I sort of agree that outcomes 1 and 2 have become less likely, but outcomes 3 and 4 are by no means certain either. They rely on the perspective that the government have an obligation to process the cases, and that is not supported by any law that I have seen. However, a judge could say that is a reasonable expectation.
Moreover outcome 4 is not really “proven”. In 2017 there was a judgement that said some visas had to be “put aside” to be issued after the deadline if needed, but in the end the visas were issued before the deadline anyway. The case that did not get the visa by the deadline STILL has not got the visa. So in that case the judge can order whatever he wants, but the government may not be able to comply.
This is like a judge telling me to flap my wings and fly. A judge could say that, but it doesn’t mean I could comply.
If your documents are not processed yet, then you are obviously more at risk. Again, here Curtis would hope that the lawsuit brings some pressure which would hopefully cause KCC to find your documents and process the, But that is not guaranteed – and KCC could easily stick with their procedures which they could demonstrate as being “fair”. So, no guarntees there.
And finally, as has been the biggest problem all along. If embassies don’t open, a judge cannot tell the DoS to open if the stated reason for closures is human safety.
June 25, 2020 at 17:45
I just got word that tunisi is refusing to extend expired visas. .That means all the people that won and couldn’t get here .. their visas are now expired. and cant be renewed. I need to send this to you and I have no llink!
June 25, 2020 at 19:37
I have seen the same from other embassies too – although at least one embassy has re-issued visas during the ban.
June 25, 2020 at 12:57

June 25, 2020 at 19:15
