Sadly, it looks like the government are stopping all issuances for the DV2023 program. All the visas are issued, they have actually exceeded the cap by about the same as last year – it will be some time before we get the final number.
Dept of State made this announcement yesterday
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/update-on-diversity-visa-dv-program-2023.html
And now it is morning time and already people arriving at embassies are being turned away without interviews. So far this has happened in 4 embassies – Kathmandu, Tashkent, Yerevan and Nairobi.
So – unless you have your visas issued before now, you will unfortunately lose your chance. That will be the same for scheduled interviews, 221g, and AOS cases.

How can I file a case in court to reverse a dv visa denial on a probono basis?
November 16, 2023 at 21:17
Probono means using a lawyer who is willing to work for you for free. That’s not very common.
Further, there is no right of appeal in DV cases outside of the USA. What is the basis of your reason to appeal?
November 16, 2023 at 21:19
By the previous message you left, yours is a DV2023 case.
So there is absolutely no possibility of any appeal. The year is over and all the visas were used. THere is nothing left you can do.
November 17, 2023 at 04:25
Dear Sir, I respect your opinion on the matter but I also know all DV denials can be appealed. In addition my case has unique peculiarities that i sincerely believe stand a chance in a US court. So what I ask of you is to help me find a lawyer who can file my case in court.
November 17, 2023 at 12:24
You think you know better. You don’t.
Any lawyer who took your case would be either an idiot, or a scammer. I don’t know any idiot lawyers or scammers to recommend to you and suggest you listen to what I have told you.
November 17, 2023 at 21:03
Dear Sir, It’s not about knowing better but about trusting God and taking a leap of faith.

It’s your time and money to waste.

Hi Brit,
I had my interview in Sydney on November 5th. Almost 2 weeks ago- it was updated on the 6th to “Administrative processing”, do you think that means I’m still in with a chance- despite the delay? Thankyou.
How stressful.
September 17, 2023 at 12:34
Yes you will get your visa. There is some sort of technical problem with visa printing, but it will hopefully be resolved this week (this is from a government representative).
September 17, 2023 at 15:08
Thankyou brit.
September 12, 2023 at 00:58
My application got approved by the VO on 22nd August 2023, I later received an email stating I am in administrative processing, no 221g form or request for documents. My CEAC page has been stuck on ready since the interview date.
Will I still get my visa?
September 12, 2023 at 07:14
No. Visas are exhausted.
September 11, 2023 at 08:01
How many visas were issued last year (DV2022) in total MRS.Simon ? And if the number 55.000 is the limit why this year are more than 55.000? My husband ,i and my daughter were in Tirana Embassy that morning of 7 Septemeber at 8:30 AM. The news was catastrofic. My family were called by the staff to enter in the embassy and than Co gave us the bad news. I will remember thisexperience for the rest of my life. We are so profoundly disapoint.
Thank you for your precious informations.
September 11, 2023 at 17:54
There is no justification in the law to issue more than 55,000.
I know you must be very disappointed, but sadly nothing can be done.

Hello britsimonsays, I would like to know, if they have canceled my appointment do they reach out to me individually? My DV appointment was on 15th September, 2023 and medicals on 11th, September, 2023. My account still shows that my appointment is still on. How do I get to know if it has been cancelled have recieved any communication from the embassy to that effect. Thank you so much
September 8, 2023 at 22:07
You will not get your visa, so I suggest you confirm that by contacting the embassy before you waste your money on the medical.
September 8, 2023 at 08:37
My case is in ISL embassy, status changed to AP on 6 September and I haven’t got any denial letter up to now, do I stand a chance to get a visa?
September 8, 2023 at 22:06
If your case says “Administrative Processing”, you will get a visa.
September 8, 2023 at 08:27
Hi,
Does this mean that if we have applied for AOS and have not yet got a case number for AOS we should put a stop payment order on the check? This is my current situtation, if you say there is no way this would work I will do that. However I just had friends in NY go through an interview today (Sep 8th). I would really appreciate a reply about this.
September 8, 2023 at 22:05
Surely yours is not a DV2023 case??? It is far too late to have started the AOS process. So – are you DV2024, in which case you can proceed.
September 11, 2023 at 18:55
Hi Koray, were you able to get case number?
September 7, 2023 at 18:01
Interview done on 6th and my case appear ready after interview. The CO told me to drop passport and missing docs on Monday. Am I concern?
September 7, 2023 at 20:53
Yes. If CEAC doesn’t show your status as “Issued” or “Administrative Processing” then you have lost your chance.
September 10, 2023 at 20:54
Hi Brit I had my interview already and they said is successful when i check the visa status is still shown as ready
September 7, 2023 at 12:44
I have received an email recently telling me they finish my AP and ready to issue yet i have to renewel a medical test. So that they will issue it. I did my medical today. In Nairobi. I am be an exception or just the same
September 7, 2023 at 13:49
Just the same. There is no chance to get the visa.
September 7, 2023 at 17:35
So sad abdikarrim sometimes these journey are expensive and unfair went through the same in 2018
September 7, 2023 at 09:59
Yes it’s happen in Tirana Embassy too. We are so dispointed. So sad for us that we had dhe opportunity to have an interview scheduled.
September 7, 2023 at 00:51
Does this also apply for those in AP status (Administrative processing not 221g).
September 7, 2023 at 10:01
Those cases will be issued.
